Stolitz is my biggest ship. You wouldn't know from the past week, BUT I'm taking a break from it after Full Moon.

BlitzFizz is obviously number two on the list, but I love Fizzarozzie too. Actually, combine the latter with Stolitz and I'd ship any combo of the four of them for fun (or hell all at once).

M&M is a must. I'd be insane not to like that power couple.

I've mentioned Blitz/Striker before too, but that one's not as high on the list. Still there!

Basically I'll ship almost anything. I can't think of a ship I hate from HB. Doesn't mean there isn't. Just not one I can think of off the top of my head.

//I'm glad they're on speaking terms again! Speaking exclusively from Blitz's point of view, he really needs an anchor right now. & like, I kinda know the feeling? Like, we're social creatures. I know imps aren't teeechnically humans, but like, if they were entities of evil, they wouldn't grief, love, etc. Evil is selfish & cruel. Blitz is violent, gross, tactless, mean, etc, but he's not cruel or selfish. He protects Moxxie in s1e6 when they're ambushed by D.H.O.R.K.S. He stands up for them at Ozzie's in the next episode. Out of all the hellhounds he's perusing in s2e2, he picks Loona because he empathizes with her. He's CONSTANTLY doting on Loona. We see him compliment her makeup in s1e3 when she's feeling self-conscious, he gloats & kisses her in s1e6 when she's slaughtering D.H.O.R.K.S. agents. In s1e8, even though he's miserable & exhausted, he races to the gluttony ring to pick up Loona when she wants to leave the party, & only goes in at her behest, & these are JUST off the top of my head. 

These aren't the actions of an evil person. These are the actions of someone full of love, & because imps experience love much like us, they need community the same way. Like, I love where I live now. Chicagoland is significantly more liberal so I, as a queer woman, don't experience a fraction of a bullshit I did in Utah. But it's far from my family & that's very isolating.

The humiliation Blitz suffered at Ozzie's in s1e7 really did a number on him. I mean, Blitz is a very expressive person, but I think we can agree it's either a) a deliberate facade, or b) a punchline written in by the writers. But s1e7 has been the second time we've seen him show emotion that isn't either of those. The first time was his spat with Loona in s1e3 where he seems to be hurt when Loona says they're not a real family after Blitz interferes with her conversation with Vortex, but Blitz's pain isn't really explored until s1e7 & s1e8.

He doesn't even swear during his conversation with Stolaswhich means he's Super Serious, & Loona confirmed this in the previous episode.

Like. Blitz is going through it here. The writing alone is STELLAR but, like, the animation cinches it. Blitz is covering his mouth & pulling his face down when Stolas is nice to him, & when he has to pause to gather himself a few seconds after, it's raw. I'm pretty stony when I read & watch shit. Like, the only time I've actually cried recently is when I was watching e4 of D.eath P.arade the other week. Before that, s1e7 was the last time I cried. I was fucking moved because his pain is so palpable.

It's EXTRA apparent Blitz needs community when he fucking breaks into rehab to see Barbie in s2e5, then interrogates a string of people to find her, & needs to get a new way into the Human World since Millie & Moxxie have the book. Judging by their fight later in the episode, I'm under the impression Barbie didn't want to see Blitz before her recovery, but Blitz didn't understand that, or was so desperate for someone to latch onto that he rationalized it as something different. 

But like... he's so desperate that he's seeking companionship from someone who hates his guts! Who everyone has warned him that Barbie wants nothing to do with him! 

& then The Universe(tm) throws Fizz in his fucking face. Fizz's antagonism comes to a head & they finally talk & it's delicious that Blitz has someone from Ye Olden Days that doesn't want to eviscerate him. 

So yeah. I miss my sweet sweet Stoliz angst, but Helluva boss is a pretty small op. There's only so much you can do in the timespan they have, so I'm fine with the rekindling of BlitzFizz in the meantime.

What REALLY gets me about s2e6 though is how Blitz's abrasiveness is turned on its head. Like, it's normally seen as a) a punchline (s1e3 when he & Verosika are fighting over the parking spot in the beginning of the episode), or b) A Bad Thing (pilot when he calls Moxxie a slur), but we see Blitz face off against Fizz's stalker in the beginning of the episode & it's portrayed as a good thing. We see him tell off Mammon & it's seen as a good thing, because they ARE good things. 

Like, my general enjoyment of subversion aside, it's a really interesting view into Blitz being a good friend to his loved ones! I think it's an important piece to rounding out Blitz as a character.

God I don't even know where to START with my headcanons on them, I have so many, I literally think about them all day

I like thinking their romantic relationship started while they were teens, 'cause they deserve that awkward teen first love, I think. Not first crush, 'cause I do think they would have a little experience before going with each other, but them being the first to be in love with, ya know???

I have an intense headcanon/theory that Fizz is aspec, demi in particular, and I love the idea that most of the time people flirt with him and he's just like "no thank you", but Blitz comes in and he goes "oh yes please!!"

Barbie Wire affectionately calls them both her brothers! This does lead to some confusion for anybody who doesn't know them, and Barbie (maybe purposefully) does not go out of her way to explain, much to Blitz and Fizz's chagrin.

Blitz growing up in Blitz's shadow and feeling so insecure :( He constantly feels like he has to prove his worth for Fizz :( Fizz keeps telling him he doesn't but that does little to help with insecurities

I personally like thinking that, after working for Mammon, Mammon also realized that Blitz is in the way of Fizz's career, so he forces Blitz to break up with him to boost Fizz in his career, painting Blitz ultimately as the "bad guy" Fizz seems to treat him in the show

But I betcha Blitz wasn't the only one to blame! Fizz being the gifted child and Blitz supporting him all the time, I bet Fizz could get selfish sometimes and actually forget to put Blitz first. Evidence of this is in the Circus when Blitz kinda failed at his horse joke and Fizz showed him up. I doubt he had any malicious intent with it; just trying to give the audience a good time; but I BET you that overtime, Blitz's ego took some heavy hits

Oh also before Mammon forced them to break up, Blitz may or may not have gotten into shenanigans to steal an engagement ring :)

I'm trying to get in the habit of writing more of my headcanons down as kind of...writing sketches? I used to never write fanfic because I was worried about it not being good enough, and if I was going to do quality writing, I'd rather put it in my original work.
