I have no idea how to phrase this correctly or coherently but:
You Make Me Feel Like it's Halloween and Supermassive Black Hole are like twins in my brain?? Like, they are related. Not lyrically but musically they are besties.
I don't know how else to explain it.

Muse reveal all about new album
March 15, 2006 16:13 | The band take NME.COM into the studio.
Tumblr media
Muse’s fourth sees the band getting political for the first time.
NME.COM visited the band as they completed mixing on their as-yet-untitled fourth record at London’s Sanctuary Townhouse Studios, and as well as the first listen to the new tracks, singer Matt Bellamy explained how this time, recent world events have influenced him.
“There’s a song on the album called ‘A Soldier’s Poem’, written from the perspective of a soldier, who kind of thinks ‘I’m out here risking my life, for what?’” he said.
Bellamy added that themes of impending apocalypse also visited on ‘Absolution’ are more specific this time round. “There is a theme on the album, it’s that kind of connection to the cycles of history where the tension builds up and then it’s released. Whether it’s catastrophic like a nuclear war, or whether aliens come down and it’s brilliant, but there’s definitely a sense that something big is about to happen.”
Decamping to south of France Muse recorded at Miraval Studios, before heading to New York to record the songs with long-time producer Rich Costey.
Virtually cut off without cars or television in France, Bellamy admitted the band were in danger of going “off the rails”, and enjoyed hitting the big city.
“I was going out dancing in clubs around New York,” said the singer. “That helped create tracks like ‘Supermassive Black Hole’. Franz (Fedinand) have done it very well, with that dance type beat going on mixed with alternative guitar and I’ve always wanted to find that.”
The currently untitled album is due out in July, with Bellamy is confident people will react to its more topical themes. “Some of the songs are directly informed by things that are going on at the moment,” he declared referencing the Iraqi war. “Which is something we’ve not really done before, but it’s impossible for anyone to ignore it.”

Here's my attempt to draw Matthew Bellamy in his 2006 BHAR era
I tried so hard (and got so far -nnn) because I didn't draw a real person since, Idk seven or eight years ago. At least I think is recognizable.
This man has such unique and amazing features that I wanted to study his face and try to draw him. Maybe I'll try again later.
But yeah, I'm not an artist I'm just a fan :)
Matt Bellamy from Muse
Pencil - 1h30 minutes drawing
(Here goes nothing until I still have the courage to post this.)

It was here! 5:28 for the question and Matt's answer too 🙈
Dom: You know, Matt’s a straight talker, he’s straight to the point, which is a good thing. He’s creative, ambitious. he’s a very respectable thing, a human being.
Matt: (makes weird noise and fidgets)
Dom: Don’t get embarrassed
Interviewer: That’s the point where you should start crying ‘oh, I love you man’.“
Dom & Matt: (Embarrassed laugh)

𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹'𝗔𝘃𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼
𝟯 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯
Caro diario

now that I'm 30, my toxic trait is I wish I could meet dom in his 30s aka BHAR era. I find him the most fruity and attractive. why I had to be 17 years later than him. but then I'm lucky to even know them now and being 30 is so far so good imo. I understand why they were so wild...
this is honestly so real bc i am always saying i wish i was born earlier so i could be 21 when dom was 21 because i would’ve had himmmmmm. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. I KNOW I WOULDVE HAD A CHANCE I JUST KNOW IT

If anybody wants to see it, 1:50 is the question
There’s a muse interview somewhere where the interviewer asks matt “did you always know you had that voice?”
And Matt’s like “w-what voice?”

Muse ask! 17, 29, 41
Hii @exalteranima you're this blog's first ask!! Thanks for sending it, I love each of these questions, they're spot on!
17: How many Muse shirts do you own?
I live in band tees like 3 days a week anyway, and yeah naturally some of them are Muse shirts!
I have either 3 or 4, I'll explain... I got a Will of the People tour shirt at my gig this March, excitedly got one on the October club tour, got one at their 2019 Simulation Theory gig, but I think I've lost it in moving back to uni, which is devastating :( It was the tour shirt with the dates and the Simulation Theory artwork on it! It might still be in some suitcase, so who knows?
The ST tour was also my first big gig ever, and first Muse gig (!!), so going in I had no idea that merch was inside the venue, so I bought a knockoff shirt from someone outside the venue. It's a little loose for me to be honest, but it's what's I have left from the ST tour now so I don't regret having bought it. It has my tour date!
On a sidenote, Muse are the only band at whose gigs you will regularly find small-sized shirts that fit, they always have good stock of them. At other bands' gigs, I've always found the smaller shirts sell out really quickly and you're left with having to choose between getting a shirt that's too large to practically wear, or not have a shirt at all if you're a size S/M. I kinda suspect that's because Matt's definitely a S/M himself :)
29: Favourite hair colour on Matt?
:) This question made me laugh out loud for a full minute. The answer is the jet-black he had dyed his hair circa 2006-2008. It was a really smart look. (If someone who knows me in real life finds this blog, I hope they obliterate me before they find some of the tags I've left on BHAR-era Matt pictures.)
41: If you were interviewing Muse, what would you ask?
This one's relevant since this is what I do anyway 😅I probably won't be interviewing Muse anytime soon, but haven't we all dreamed about it at some point anyway?
I'd love to ask him about his thematic inspirations, how he sort of looks at the world around him, finds ideas and inspiration in books (every single album has had the influence of some book or other on it on at least a song, except maybe Will Of The People. I can't recall any for this album yet?), film, etc. and expands them into not just song ideas, but albums, the live show, stage props and sets; into immersive experiences as he would like fans to also experience them. How does he do that? Is there anything that's too far-fetched for Muse? Can they turn anything into the Muse Experience? It's the single most interesting thing about Muse's themes compared to any other band!
On a personal note I would really like to ask him about motivation... especially in fields like music, I just can't imagine there aren't times when people lose motivation, get temporarily bored, or just get frozen in fear of the unknown. How do they keep pushing forward, keep making brilliant albums without self-doubt? How do you keep trusting yourself? They're quite the band to know!

Tribute to #Roshan, one of the greatest music composers in the history of Hindi cinema, on his 57th death anniversary. Roshanlal Nagrath (14 July 1917 – 16 November 1967), better known simply as Roshan, was a celebrated Hindi film music composer. He was the father of actor and director Rakesh Roshan and music director Rajesh Roshan, as well as the paternal grandfather of Hrithik Roshan. In 1948, Roshan moved to Mumbai to pursue a career as a Hindi film music director. Initially, he worked as an assistant to Khawaja Khurshid Anwar for the film Singaar. After facing significant struggles, he finally received his break when Kidar Sharma gave him the opportunity to compose music for Neki Aur Badi (1949). While the film did not achieve success, Roshan established himself on the Hindi film music scene with the release of Baawre Nain in 1950. During the early 1950s, Roshan worked with legendary singers like Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, and Talat Mahmood. Films such as Malhar, Shisham, and Anhonee featured his compositions, showcasing his talent. One of his iconic creations from this time was Aeeri Main To Prem Diwani Mera Dard Na Jaane Koi, sung by Lata Mangeshkar in the film Naubahaar. Although he was not consistently commercially successful, Roshan’s work was widely respected. He played a pivotal role in introducing lyricists Indeewar and Anand Bakshi to the industry. Both would later rise to prominence as sought-after songwriters in Mumbai. Anand Bakshi’s first break came in 1956 with Bhala Aadmi, although it was Nissar Bazmi who gave him the opportunity. Roshan later collaborated with Bakshi on CID Girl (1959) and delivered a significant success with Devar (1966). The 1960s marked the golden era of Roshan’s career, where his unique ability to blend folk music with Hindustani classical influences became his trademark. His compositions during this time included memorable songs from films such as Barsaat Ki Raat (Na To Caravan Ki Talaash Hai and Zindagi Bhar Nahi Bhoolegi Woh Barsaat Ki Raat), Aarti (Ab Kya Misaal Doon and Kabhi To Milegi), Taj Mahal (Jo Vaada Kiya Woh Nibhana Padega, Pao Chhoon Lene Do, and Jurm-e-Ulfat Pe), Dil Hi To Hai (Nigahen Milane Ko Jee Chahta Hai and Laga Chunari Mein Daag), Chitralekha (Sansaar Se Bhaage Phirte Ho and Man Re Tu Kaahe), and Anokhi Raat (Oh Re Taal Mile and Khushi Khushi Kar Do Vida). His work in the film Mamta (1966) with lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri resulted in timeless melodies like Rehte The Kabhi Jinke Dil Mein, Rahen Na Rahen Hum, and the duet Chuppa Lo Yun Dil Mein Pyar Mera with Hemant Kumar. The film Devar also featured iconic songs such as Aaya Hai Mujhe Phir Yaad Woh Zalim, Baharon Ne Mera Chaman Loot Kar, and Duniya Mein Aisa Kahan Sab Ka Naseeb Hai. Roshan’s unique contribution to Hindi cinema was his mastery of the qawwali, which was evident in creations like Nigahen Milane Ko Jee Chahta Hai and Na Khanjar Uthega, Na Talwar Tumse. His ability to craft soulful and memorable music, blending genres with finesse, cemented his legacy as one of the most gifted composers in the history of Indian cinema.
