And I've looked forward so much to the day I'd finally be able to–#read a new sskk scene with my eyes!!!! So long I tell you!!!!!#I dreamed so often the moment I would make my first sskk edit!!!!!!! I won't post it on any secondary blog I need this on *my* blog!!!!!!!!#That is to say. This is between me and you followers (╥﹏╥)#Technical considerations now redrawing Akutagawa's coat was something... Not for the coat itself but because I'm not used to solid black–#stuff with white lineart so like. I made the lineart normally black thinking I'd just invert colors later right?#Wrong I ended up with 40 layers and no idea of what was were also because I can't see a white lineart akdnfvejdndvwkdvej#Something something going out of your comfort zone is fun but also it took me around thirty minutes to make the lineart–#and then little to four hours just to fill it/make the adjustments/basically figure out what was where in the sea of layers and white lines

So an update to this from yesterday - I’ve decided to bring Shayan over here to share Sera’s blog. It’ll be a few days before I get things shuffled around here to slide him in, so consider this blog under construction but otherwise fully functioning for a bit, given I still need to update Shayan’s carrd and get some stuff written up for the other two muses related to them also coming over!
The theme and such of this blog will also be staying Sera-focused, and Shayan and the newbies will be considered as secondary muses as a result. Being as young as they are, it was difficult to keep up a full, single blog for even just Shayan - Not due to a lack of muse, but simply because there’s only so much he can have going on as a child, be in in FF or GI verses, and replying to myself in a thread was... Awkward, to say the least, resulting in me often just making him a guest muse here or Sera on his anyway. This will still stay as Sera’s blog, but at least I’ll be able to keep up with Shayan a little easier by bringing him here. <3
I’m estimating it shouldn’t take more than a week, so please pardon the dust as the muses do the blog shuffle, and I’ll be fully available for things despite it! <3
~Pom
#Out Of Poms [OOC]#Howling Poms [PSA]#Updating Pom.EXE [Blog Update]#Technically is an update so XD#But yeah - Shayan's /four/? There's only so much I can do to keep his blog engaging on its own?#Five to six at the most depending on verse#And as such Sera is HEAVILY involved in Shayan's stuff ANYWAY#So this is ultimately gonna be easier on m for keeping up with him because I love Sera and her smol(s) <3#And since Sera has a lot more going on just as herself I can keep this as primarially Sera's blog#I'll just be looking at it like a lowkey multimuse with secondary muses <3#And no I'm not sharing who the other two smols are until I'm done with things XD#Solely because they won't have a place in FF verses but will in everything else

A very very minor thing I have been curious about for a while, and I'm finally asking: why do you calculate queue posting times the way you do? For example, if I set my queue to post 3x a day, naively I would expect it to post every 8 hours. But in reality it posts every 6 hours with a 12 hour gap between days. Why complicate the math like that?
Answer: Hello @circumference-pie!
Buckle up y’all, it’s story time again!
First: nobody who works at Tumblr right now was a part of the work of planning the default queue implementation, which was more than ten years ago. So the full story behind “Why does it work that way?” has unfortunately been lost to the sands of time. All we can do is tell you how it works today and surmise some reasons why. The queue is actually a very clever system and part of how it works explains some of why it works the way it does. Also, there have been attempts to do what you ask—we still have “Queue 2.0” available in your Tumblr Labs settings, which tries to get closer to how you expect things to work.
Anyway! How the queue works today is not actually a queue in the traditional sense. There is no single list of posts that are in “your queue”. Instead, when you “Add to queue” after creating a post, we’re actually scheduling it to post at a future time, as if you had used the “Schedule post” option instead. We’re just calculating that time on your behalf when you use “Add to queue”, based on your settings, and how many other scheduled posts you have already. We use a secondary “index” model, called “ScheduledPost”, to keep track of posts you have scheduled on your blog. We do mark the ones that are a part of “your queue”, but the data model doesn’t keep one list of your “queue” per se.
You can see this in action on your blog, hiding in plain sight. If you add a bunch of posts to your queue, and then schedule a post for a specific future date, you’ll see both in your blog’s “queue” list, side by side. Because technically to us, they’re the same thing: queued posts are really just another kind of scheduled post, relying on the same always-running service to publish scheduled posts across all of Tumblr. Here’s a fun fact: we typically have about ~14.5 million future posts to publish from this list at any given time and are publishing hundreds of these scheduled posts every second.
So when you’re adding a new post to your queue, what we’re doing behind the scenes is starting at the beginning of your “day”, and creating time slots based on your queue settings. If a time slot is already filled, we move on to the next one. That’s why the default queue scheduler works how you describe—we’re trying to fill those “slots” based on the start of the day, rather than trying to divide the calendar day evenly. This just makes it much simpler for us to understand, scale, and predict when our “peaks” will be. At peak times, the publish-scheduled-posts service is publishing tens of thousands of posts in a manner of seconds. We did rewrite that post-publishing part of this architecture a few years ago to improve its efficiency and solve a lot of “lost post” bugs, but we didn’t change how “Add to queue” works.
However, the Queue 2.0 project available in Labs was an attempt to change the queue system to work as you expect—instead of starting at [beginning of day] and creating enough slots to fit [number of slots] every [number of hours], it tries to divide the calendar day into [number of slots] and fit the result back to the original algorithm’s mapping of the day. We never productionized this alternative approach, because it has a few bugs that some blogs hit in extreme cases, and we’ve never had time to fully fix them. It also can cause a bit of weirdness when time zones diverge, like with daylight savings time. Also, a lot of people prefer the default algorithm, and we haven’t thought of a nice way to transition everyone from one to the other. So for now, both options exist, and you can choose which algorithm for queue-slot-generating you want to use. We hope that makes sense!
While complicated, it is a great example of a system built by engineers to make sense and be scalable and predictable. But sometimes these kinds of systems, while clever, aren’t very intuitive to understand without digging into how they work.
Thanks for your question, and keep ’em coming.

Hello, op! While I do find your reading of Kabru’s self sacrifice and how little he eats really good, im curious why you consider him the deuteragonist? He is a foil to the protagonist yes, but still a supporting character.
I think its pretty clear Marcille is the second most important character in DM, and her story has much more weight than Kabru’s.
Hello! I've mentioned this on my blog before, but I actually consider Marcille and Kabru to both be deuteragonists to Laios's protagonist. I just wasn't talking about Marcille in that post.
Technically this term is meant to be used in playwriting, and the Greek tradition at that, so I'm playing a little loosey goosey with semantics and my argument would sound different if I were writing an academic paper. But this is tumblr dot edu and I'm trying to get a point across on my little blog, and part of the idea of a deuteragonist is that they support the protagonist. "Secondary main character who has their own importance in the narrative while bolstering the protagonist" works well enough for my purposes.
I think Marcille and Kabru are both playing specific and complementary roles to Laios. Marcille is at his side, facilitating the A plot: namely, "save Falin", which requires Marcille's magic, and then Marcille's method of resurrection ropes Thistle in, so the continuation of "save Falin" necessitates confronting the Dungeon Lord and conquering the dungeon (the B plot).
Kabru only intersects with Laios, but he is tied from the beginning to the B plot- and with dragging basically everyone else into it. Actually, the fact that he brings in this extremely loaded B plot despite only having brief face time with the protagonist should be seen as significant. In a sense, Kabru represents the surface world and all its concerns.
Before I talk about that more, I want to continue with the complementary line of thinking and point out that Kabru and Marcille have very similar background motivations.
Laios wants to save his sister first and foremost, and it's only along the way that he starts to consider what he'd do with the responsibility of Dungeon Lord. Coming to the conclusion that he wants to create a home for disparate peoples to live in harmony has connective tissue to both Kabru and Marcille's desires.
Marcille is the only one in their party who starts out with a greater motivation other than saving Falin (Izutsumi is a special case, but she's ultimately along for the ride), one that she keeps hidden for a long time. Because she is a mage, and because she is driven by a very personal tragedy (my dad died; I am terrified of outliving everyone), she is looking for a miracle to bring the different races closer together.
Kabru comes from a background of personal tragedy as well, but it's also a far greater, more political tragedy than just the death of a parent. It is not a coincidence that Kabru is a brown boy from an exploited region that suffered despite and because of military intervention from a first-world power, nor that he was adopted by a white woman whose coddling/dehumanization of him represents the paternalistic oversight of these world powers.
Thus, Kabru's motivations are both personal and political: if they, the short-lived races, can finally access the secrets of the dungeons, then not only can they have agency in stopping tragedies like Utaya's, but it will also give them a greater power of self-determination.
Marcille and Kabru have both correctly identified and set themselves against a problem that is greater than saving the life of one girl, greater even than sealing this one dungeon.
Despite Marcille's hopes, there is no grand magic solution to this. Only small, slow, backbreaking, ordinary solutions, the kind you labor over in kitchens and bedrooms and throne rooms and meeting houses and hearths and negotiation tables. The kind you run a kingdom with.
There is a reason why Dungeon Meshi ends with Marcille and Kabru on either side of Laios's throne.
Okay: back to Kabru (under the cut).
I've talked about this a little before, but I'll reiterate here: I consider Kabru to be the counterweight to the back half of the story. In a very literal sense too, as he pulls the focus up from the depths to the surface not once, but twice. Dungeon Meshi builds itself on the premise that the traditional "dungeon" must function as an actual ecosystem, and the monsters in it are biological actors in that ecosystem and not merely magical obstacles independent of their environment. The first couple dozen chapters are focused on this. Like regular animals, monsters have needs and instincts and unique behaviors, and they can be killed and consumed as part of a food chain.
And then Kabru comes along and he reminds us that humans are also part of their own special ecosystem, with their own needs and instincts and unique behaviors, and that beyond the biological drive of the literal food chain there are also complex social issues influencing these behaviors (like capitalism). Tansu's visit with the governor introduced us to these ideas, but Kabru is the one who carries them.
The way he and his party break down Laios's party also serves an important function. I think most readers are so busy being shocked that Kabru is "so wrong" about our goofy boy Laios that they don't realize that he isn't actually wrong about anything (he's only missing the context of what drives Laios, which he admits to and is part of the reason why he pursues him). We've gotten only Laios's view of things so far, and Laios is pretty tunnel-visioned. The narrative, through Kabru, is telling the reader this is how our protagonist actually comes across to his community.
We like Laios because we are following his story from his inner circle. We know he's naive and struggles with people but that he has a good heart and is ultimately just a big silly guy who won't harm anybody if he can help it. But we only know that because we're seeing him with his inner circle, in his environment. Outside of the dungeon, Laios is anti-social to the point of rudeness; he misreads situations and misjudges people, he acts in ways that cause friction, and he accidentally aligns himself with people who make his whole enterprise look suspicious: a prominent half-foot community leader, a mysterious foreigner literally surrounded by spies, the disgraced daughter of a criminal who now has to shoulder the burden of her father's reputation, and an elf in a land where there are no elves. And they seem to be very good at what they're doing. Yet this whole time, Laios acts as if he doesn't care about profit or taking the kingdom, the only logical reasons why anyone on the Island would gather up such a party and throw themselves into this death pit day after day.
Yeah of course Kabru finds this suspicious and interesting. Of course people don't know what to make of Laios. This all reiterates the question that Zon the orc already raised: What will you do, Laios, if you defeat the Mad Mage? If you gain control of all of this? Can you be a leader? Laios himself doesn't know yet.
This is all necessary context for our protagonist and the journey he has to go on, and it's fittingly brought up by the most socially adept character, who is so concerned with human ecosystems and the bigger picture of the dungeon. There is a reason why Kabru, as a character, is connected to large webs of people as he moves throughout the narrative: his own party, Toshiro's party, the Canaries, the denizens of the first floor of the dungeon.
Kabru is responsible for bringing Toshiro down to Laios's party. Toshiro is not a big mover and shaker in the story itself, but his confrontation with Laios is a huge part of Laios's character arc. His detour down to the lower levels also allows Izutsumi to escape and join Laios's party later.
We also have this very important moment:
It shows the first inkling- to the audience, to Kabru, and to Laios himself- that Laios is willing to do a painful, necessary thing to protect other people, that he won't just allow them to become collateral for his sister/monsters. That he can listen, and that he can assess a situation beyond his personal feelings. Again, fittingly, big-picture-thinker Kabru is the catalyst for this.
And then, not content to leave him as merely a device for Laios's character growth, the focus slingshots back up to the surface, and we follow Kabru.
The Canaries were going to go into the dungeon soon anyway, and they were always going to stir up the crowd in order to lure Thistle to them. Unless Thistle had given up right then and managed to slip away, the story could have very easily ended here:
Falin, immobilized and surrounded by Canaries, would have certainly been killed, and there would have been no way to ever resurrect her. Thistle would have been neutralized. The dungeon would have been taken by the elves, and anyone they could get their hands on would have been imprisoned at best. And maybe the dungeon would have been managed safely ... or maybe something would have gone wrong, and more lives would have been lost. Remember: the Canaries arrived in Utaya one year before the tragedy.
This is a huge moment that changes Laios's life forever, and he doesn't even know it. Kabru single-handedly keeps the story on course by sabotaging the Canaries, and he does it not just for Laios's sake, but for everyone's sake. For his friends and companions in the dungeon and everyone else outside it. Laios is a part of his motivation, a key player in Kabru's hopes, but Kabru has his own desires, his own agenda. He's trying to change the world. In a way, he succeeds. And while the Canaries might wish it were otherwise, as an entity in the narrative they are always anchored to Kabru's character. The two forces collide because of Kabru. The unsealing of the Winged Lion and Marcille's emergency ascension to Dungeon Lord happen indirectly because of Kabru.
While I have talked so much already that I don't want to give a detailed breakdown of it, I do want to mention Kabru's unique interiority as a character. That is to say: we see the inside of Kabru's head more than anyone else. Every character in the main ensemble gets their own moments of inner monologues or fifteen minutes in the limelight, but for Kabru, it's constant. He's always thinking, talking, narrating. His POV chapters always stand out for how first-person they feel compared to most others.
Notably, the only other character I could compare that to is Marcille, specifically during the dungeon rabbit debacle and her ascension afterward, which is when she really takes center stage as a character.
I hope I've explained my reasoning without becoming too insufferable.
To cap off my thoughts with a nod to my original post, I cannot stress enough how significant it is, thematically, that Kabru's relationship with food is the inverse of Laios's. It isn't just that Laios is the main character in a story about cooking monsters and Kabru happens to be his monster-hating foil. The artistic choice to deny the reader the visual of this character ever enjoying food, and only ever putting it in his mouth in situations where it hurts him, in a manga that gives so much attention to eating and the pleasures of meals, cannot be understated.

Do not repost this anywhere!
Your father was never fond of the idea of you joining the Avengers team. However, it was bound to happen since your father was non other than Tony Stark. So you were a target to most enemies.
When your father took in Peter Parker after the civil war fiasco, you two have been together like glue. You both were the same age, liked the same stuff, and you two had fought many enemies together side by side.
However, this mission was harsher than any one that you and Peter have faced. Your father had to carry you back to the quinjet before setting you down on a bench.
"You should've been more careful," your father scolded you.
"I was careful," you tell him.
"No you weren't. Because if you were careful, you wouldn't have a wound on the side of your body," your father tells you.
"It's technically a minor wound," you tell him.
"Minor or not, I'm still upset you got hurt," your father tells you. "And that goes for you to."
You looked over at Peter who sat next to you. Peter had a cut on his head that was making him bleed a little. You frowned a little as you stared at his cut. Natasha walked over to the two of you before fixing Peter up a little until you guys got back.
"You okay, Peter?" You asked him.
"I'll be alright."
"You two can be reckless, you know that?" Tony tells you two, looking at you both with a stern look.
"But we survived," you pointed out. Tony gave you a look, making you quiet.
"Let's head out already so the two can be checked out," Tony tells Clint and Steve.
"On our way," Clint told Tony as he began the quinjet.
"Peter?" You asked.
"Yeah?"
"Wanna take a nap?"
"Yeah."
Natasha noticed you both first. She smiled softly as you leaned your head onto Peter's shoulder with his arm wrapped around you. His head was leaned back against the wall, making him look up at the ceiling as he slept.
"Steve," Natasha said quietly.
"What?"
"Look," Natasha pointed over. He looked over and smiled at the two of you.
"Tony's gonna have a blast when he sees that," Steve chuckled.
"Hold on. Before you tell him or before he finds out," Natasha said before taking out her phone. She snapped a photo of the two of you before smirking at the photo.
"Okay, now he can see the two," Natasha joked.
"Hey, Tony," Steve called out to get his attention.
"What?"
"How do you feel about y/n dating?" Steve asked him.
"I'm not ready for her to date," Tony said.
"Well you might need to get ready soon," Natasha said as she looked over at the two of you.
Tony followed her gaze to see you comfortably sleeping on Peter. Both Steve and Natasha smiled at Tony's small look of disapproval.
"He's a good kid. Plus they always hang out. What will be the difference?" Steve asked Tony.
"Because I would need to see him as a potential threat to her," Tony pointed out.
"How is Peter a potential threat to y/n?" Natasha asked.
"Because she is my little girl and if anyone hurts her, I will throw them up in space without any oxygen," Tony told her.
"Oh please. For anything, it would be Peter to get hurt from y/n," Natasha told him.
"Let them sleep. They need it," Steve told the two.
Once you all made it back to the base, you woke up to feeling Peter's arm around you. You felt your cheeks heat up as you looked up at Peter.
"Peter. Wake up," you whispered as you gently woke him up.
"Hmm?" Peter asked as his eyes opened up a little.
"We're back. Let's go get fixed up. And then maybe later, we can watch a movie?" You asked.
"I would need to check in with my aunt first," Peter told her.
"Of course. But whenever you're available, we can have a movie night?" You asked.
"I'd like that," Peter said as he helped you over to the infirmary.
"I bet you ten bucks those two will get together within the week," Natasha tells Steve.
"Ten bucks says Tony is going to have a small fit over her dating," Steve added.
"You're on," Natasha smirked at Steve as the two shook on it.
Bonus:
"You two are dating?!" Tony asked in shock.
"Yes. And I am old enough to date. Don't make me remind you of your dating history," you pointed out.
"At least it's with Peter," Pepper pointed out.
"Thank you," you tell her.
"Just no kissing in front of me okay?" Tony said.
"No promises."
While you and your father argued about your dating life, Peter looked at Natasha and Steve confused on why Natasha gave Steve ten dollars. The three were sitting together while they watched you defend your relationship with Peter.
"Why did you give Cap ten dollars?" Peter asked Natasha.
"Don't worry about it kid."

Is it weird that I get a little stressed out at the fact that this blog is technically a side/secondary blog? When I first came back to tumblr, I totally forgot that side blogs can’t be switched to mains. I didn’t realize until it was too late that I wouldn’t be able to follow people with THIS art blog but instead my “main” blog (that I don’t use AT ALL.) I can’t put badges, let alone like another person’s post too.
I changed my old username so that it correlates to this art blog (which is practically my main now) as @quackysmackk-alt. I’m worried about the notification other people get, and that whole “mutuals” status and what not. I did some research and for some reason a mutuals status will only appear on the other person’s end if you follow their main blog.. which this blog is NOT. I still see it on my end, but that’s only because they follow THIS blog.
Soo idk if I’m just paranoid, but I’m worried that there’s other people who I follow and they follow me, who don’t get the notification that I’m supporting their art and whatnot. Honestly I just want to built up some mutual bonds on this platform, so it’s been eating at me for a LONG time. I also don’t know what the chances are for any of them to read this post. :(
But yeah. I’m scared.

Astrology For Beginner's Part 2
Part 1 Here
Fire and Air are considered compatible elements, so are Earth and Water. The elements + qualities is how ideas around polarities come into play. Astrology works off of different axis and opposites. For example, Taurus (Fixed Earth) and Scorpio (Fixed Water) are polar opposites and sit opposite of each other in a natal chart. Because Air and Fire are not considered compatible with Water and Earth, Aquarius (Fixed Air) and Leo (Fixed Fire) are considered incompatible with Scorpio and Taurus. Although it is important to understand compatibility is much more complex than just comparing Sun Signs or even Venus Signs, especially if you dive into that sector of astrology, and even if you and a loved one are technically "incompatible" you're still human, can love each other, and can still have a great relationship.
After learning about elements, qualities, and polarities I suggest researching all of the other planets and what they stand for: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.
This Article by Cafe Astrology has summaries for all of the planets as well as Asteroids.
I suggest learning about what a Natal Chart is at the same time as the planets. A Natal Chart can be drawn up for a person, place, company, country, a character, a book, almost anything. A Natal Chart takes a moment in time and allows astrologers to analyze all of the placements and components to give predictions, describe compatibility, to describe a person, and more. This chart freezes the time of "birth" for something like a person or country. The Natal Chart is this wheel you may see in books, blogs, posts, etc.
(Image from Wikipedia)
A Natal Chart should not be confused with a natal chart report, birth chart report, or astrology report which is just a list of all of your placements. This wheeled chart format is also used in other forms of astrology like Transits, Synastry, Secondary Progressions, and more. Those would be referred to as a Transit Chart, Synastry Chart, etc. and they have a different use and are calculated differently than a Natal Chart.
There is a LOT to learn about with just your own Natal Chart. Start out with the basics of Houses, Planets, Asteroids, and the Angles (Ascendant, Imum Coeli, Descendant, Midheaven).
A rule of thumb to know is that a House acts as the environment for an area of life, the planet is a direct influence, and the sign is the overall themes. A common metaphor for this is the House is the stage, the sign the costume, and the planet the actor.
I could keep going by diving into more details of the Natal Chart but these are the starting points I'd suggest to someone who is just learning about the basics of astrology.

Anrir is from @kit-williams (he's such a fun snarky old man!). Claude is @gallifreyianrosearkytiorsusan and Kopesh is from @c-u-c-koo-4-40k
Other Tags: @egrets-not-regrets @sleepyfan-blog @nightshade-victorian Warnings: Injury/wound care
Claude was out in the forest with some of his night lord brother when he smelled astartes blood. A lot of it. He moved silently towards the scent.
There was a marine lying on the forest floor. Solid matte black armor, no legion or chapter markings, only a skull with spread eagle wings extending out to either side across his chestplate. He reminded Claude of the stories of deathwatch blackshields, except for the lack of the organization's insignia. Questions for later. The strange marine's stomach plating was torn open and he was bleeding profusely. His head turned to look at Claude. "Big Raven..." he muttered, reaching a hand towards the primaris scout.
“ANRIR! I need you over here now!” Claude yelled into his vox, moving in to aid the injured marine and pulling out the bandages Cedric had insisted he carry with him.. He tried to wrap them around the stranger’s torso but they were soaked through almost as fast as he could apply them. Fuck - one of his hearts must be damaged, to be bleeding this much.
The ancient night lord practically materialized out of the darkness behind Claude and looked him up and down to ensure he was uninjured. “Why are you yelling. You’re not hurt and none of the claw is hurt, so what’s the rush?”
“Dad, please? I don’t want him to die.”
“Fine fine fine I’ll help him for Curze’s sake, you can stop yelling. I thought you were injured.”
“Great, a night lord.” The marine on the ground complained, trying to shift to look at Anrir.
“Look, do you want to survive this or not? Hold still.” Anrir commented to his patient, pushing a few organs aside to inspect the damage.
“Dad! Please, I’ll owe you a favor!”
“Fine, you’re lucky you’re cute. Please stop looking at the back of my head like a kicked puppy. Why does the raven side of your genetics always come out in these situations...” Anrir turned back to his patient, pulling out his medic bag and deftly beginning to stitch the hole in his secondary heart shut. “You’re going to owe Claude a favor when you recover from this, you know. What happened to you anyway?”
“Boarding torpedo.” The injured marine replied dryly.
“What, did you try to stop it with your torso?” Anrir pulled several pieces of shrapnel out of the marine’s torso.
“Technically it worked. Name’s Tercelle. Why do I smell bats?”
“It’s too bright out for bats. Possibly because I’m a night lord. Or you might have a concussion. Claude, get his helmet off.” Claude fiddled with the damaged clasps on the marine’s helmet, finally pulling it off to a loud yelp from the injured stranger.
Vivid purple eyes with black slcera stared back at him, wide and unfocused and somehow glowing very slightly against deep brown skin. Blood was starting to mat into the silver-coiled hair from a large cut on his forehead. Anrir motioned Claude aside and quickly assessed the situation. “Yep, concussion. Along with the usual signs of losing massive amounts of blood very quickly.” The apothecary flipped his vox on. “Kopesh, grab a medical transportation kit and bring it to my location. Claude found a new arrival.” He observed the marine’s bloodstained hair and the growing bruise around the scalp wound. “Say, do you remember what year it is?” It was obvious that he was an Emperor’s Child - no other chapter has the same brilliant eyes and bleached hair - but whether he was before or after the Heresy would be important.
“011.M31. Am I dead? I was on a ship, and then there was a torpedo, and…”
“You’re not dead. You’re on Terra.” Anrir interrupted.
Tercelle’s eyes darted back and forth, pupils wide despite the bright light. “Why trees?”
“Because you’re in M3 now.” Claude piped up.
“Right, I am in hell.” Tercelle clearly didn’t believe what he was being told.
Anrir sighed at the new arrival. “You’re not in hell. I can bring you to the chaos base once you're stabilized." Anrir immediately noticed his patient's heartbeat start to rise as he tried weakly to move away and hurriedly continued talking. "Or we can take you to the loyalist base instead. However you are going to be in ultramarine paperwork hell for quite some time that way. Unless you’d like to go to the night lord base instead?”
“I can handle ultramarine paperwork. Means you can’t skin me until I’m done.” Tercelle coughed out, seeming to calm slightly.
“Do you see me wearing any skins? I’m not into that.” Anrir huffed a bit at his overly chatty patient.
“I still keep seeing you with bat wings half the time. Hard to tell. Can I sleep now?” Tercelle’s eyelids fluttered as he spoke.
“Don’t you fucking dare. I got started here so you’re stuck with me now.” Anrir grabbed a syringe from his bag and injected a stimulant dose into Tercelle just as Kopesh arrived with supplies. Tercelle grinned up at Kopesh as he set his load down and started to unroll the stretcher. “You smell like human. I know that smell! Very happy nice human.”
“Hey! But yes, she is a very nice human.” Kopesh helped guide Tercelle’s shoulders onto the stretcher. With Anrir’s direction the three of them set off for Stone Flame Base, quickly reaching into town and shouldering through the civilian traffic with their patient. For some reason he was still going on about bats and Anrir was seriously considering strapping him down. Fortunately he was still too weak to really fight against the hands pushing him to stay down.
Inside the base Olly had drawn desk duty that day. “Hello, what is the nature of your emergency today?” Anrir pushed past him, grabbing the list of open rooms from its usual spot on the desk. At least ultramarines were consistent.
“I need several bags of blood,” he paused to check the marine’s patches “type A+, a rehydration pack, a head injury brace, and several rolls of clean bandages. This room,” Anrir led Claude and Kopesh into an unused room, not bothering to turn on the lights as Olly messaged Cedric. “Can I get the patient’s name, affiliation, and era?”
“I’m Tercelle. You’re big. Like that raven that smells like a bat. Why are you so big? You have very nice eyes.” It looks like he wasn't getting much useful information yet.
“Oh. Thank you sir. I’m a primaris marine, as is Claude. We’re bigger.” Olly was not really used to receiving compliments.
“They’re adorable, aren’t they?” Tercelle said to no one in particular as Anrir eased him onto the bed and began hooking tubes in.
“Yes, they are. Ah there you are Cedric,” he hooked the first bag of blood that the younger apothecary had brought up to Tercelle’s IV “Thank you. Finally, someone else agrees with me!”
“Yay. Oh there’s another one! They’re so cute. Am sleep now.” The stimulants were starting to wear off. Cedric shook his head. He is not cute but there's no sense arguing with a head trauma patient.
“Yes, you can sleep now. And yes, they are cute.” Anrir shooed the others out and settled into a chair in the dark room, pulling a book out and starting to read.

First and foremost I think that Miles would want to think you’re cool as hell, but given what he knows about Felicia Hardy and subsequently Peter and her’s relationship, homeboy is trying NOT to have history repeat itself with you. Because no matter how cool your outfit is or the fact that you pack a mean punch, you’re bad news and he needs to keep you at arms length. But when he gets to know you, that obviously becomes harder and harder the more the two of you cross paths.
I like to think that you guys meet in school first. You’re a new student this semester, placed right in Miles’ homeroom. You weren’t hard to notice with your striking white hair, always had earbuds in your ears, and could be caught humming tunes throughout the day. You become friends due to your shared love for music and art, and when you start using the same excuses he’d use for his friends and family about why you couldn’t hang out as often anymore, he’s too blindsided by your friendship (and the teeny tiny crush he’s developed) to question it
Though when the two of you meet mask to mask, however, it’s a different story. You play this elusive and secretive role so good as much as he considers you a rival, Miles also finds himself admiring the way that you’re so graceful with your getaways, and the fact that you are always teasing him doesn’t help either.
You laid it on thick, but after a while of swinging around the city trying to catch you, he’d gotten used to your flirting and the jabs you’d take at him, even throwing back a few of his own. He’s a smooth kid, learned the game from his uncle of course, and just as hot as you’d get him under the mask, you found yourself trying to keep down the heat rising to your ears whenever he came back with something clever and sweet. It was a sweet cat and mouse game the two of you played - even though technically one of you wasn’t a mouse.
The jig is up, however, when a bigger threat the city is posed and you’re caught in the middle of it and are badly injured when trying to fight it off. Miles is quick to rescue you, but the pride he feels from saving the elusive Black Cat is short-lived when he realizes that the face of the vigilante behind the half torn mask is none other than someone he considers one of his best friends.
It gets awkward after that, and you’re quick to catch on as to why, because you, having deduced who the black and red-clad secondary Spiderman of New York truly was, knew how this would go if a conversation wasn’t had. And you tell him straight up that this life isn’t a game to you; you’ve been brought up in it and know the dangers and the risks, so he can’t talk you out of it. And if it was a deal breaker to your friendship, then, even though it would hurt like hell, you would have no problem in cutting Miles off.
And just like that, what Miles feared had come true - it was the same story with Peter and Felicia all over again - and yet, he still made an effort to try and see things from your perspective, to make it to where history didn’t HAVE to repeat itself, knowing that any feelings he’d have for you were no good in his line of work.
You know it too, though. Whatever budding feelings that were happening between the two of you couldn’t come to fruition, because Miles was a superhero for the people, and you were just a street cat looking out for yourself. There was a stark difference in the way each of you looked over your shoulders for constant threats to your existences, yours debatably being worse than Miles’ and you couldn’t drag him down with you.
But there still was this string that kept the two of you together. Perhaps it was the fact that you still had classes together in school. Perhaps it was the fact that you lived right next to each other and it was impossible to avoid one another throughout the day. Or perhaps it was the fact that, despite being two completely different people in two completely different lives, with and without the mask, you both still wanted to make it work; whatever would be between the two of you.
Even though you butt heads like water to a flame, Miles protected you with all his might, and you helped him in the hardest of cases with any intel you could gather. No, you couldn’t be together, but you’d still look out for each other; there was no avoiding that. You were his Black Cat, after all. And he was your Little Spider

Hi!
I found your blog because of your ask blog and have been keeping up to date with Tim's asker antics. I just felt the need to get out some opinions in a place I know someone will hear it, and my brain is telling me I can't do shit about Marble Hornets on my own blog until I post my own art about it, so I hope you're fine with me rambling about it here. (If I'm somehow crossing a line of sorts, please let me know.) Also, fair warning. This is long. Very long. I put a TL;DR at the bottom.
I feel like this fandom should appreciate Seth as a character more. Most people kinda just use him as the secondary butt to "brought the dog" jokes, and while that is an amusing line, I feel like Seth has a lot of untapped potential as a character that isn't really thought about because of that joke being spun into his only personality trait. From what I've seen, people seem to entirely forget or ignore a little something about him being the founding member of ToTheArk. He and Brian are the only two characters throughout the entire story to work together successfully. Tim and Brian? They fell out. Jay and Alex? They fell out. Tim and Jay? You guessed it, they fell out. Seth and Brian are the only ones who could actually work together in a functional partnership until the end, but because people only really bring up Seth as the guy Alex yelled at for bringing his dog, that leaves a lot of untapped potential with their dynamic. What kind of person was Seth to be the only person able to collaborate with someone successfully while under the Operator's influence? Were him and Brian already close before it all happened? Was he just the only one with decent communication skills?? Plus, he's the one who started guiding Jay on the path towards answers, which implies that he knows quite a lot about what's going on. I personally imagine Seth to be a similar person to Jeff from EMH. He's calm and collected, good with tech, and quite good with solving and creating puzzles. Intelligent and very caring, wanting to see all the people he cares about make it out alive, so he's doing his best to help get this stuff sorted out for good while trying to maintain a level of anonymity so nobody else he loves gets caught in the cross fire.
TL;DR: People should really start thinking about Seth's dynamics and him as a character more beyond him bringing his dog.
YES YES YES YOU NAILED IT I 100% AGREEE
I have an entire novel's worth of headcanons I've collected about Seth because listen listen hear me out...
90% of the loose ends and plot holes left in Marble Hornets, when filled by Seth, make for an EXTREMELY compelling story that opens up an entire second off-screen plot line with Seth and Brian going parallel with Jay and Tim.
I feel like Night Mind said it best on his "Marble Hornets Explained series":
"When you finally stop to think about everything we've revealed, you begin to realize Marble Hornets was never actually a horror story."
"It was a revenge story."
I actually plan on digging into this fully through Act 3 of @ohgreat-moretapes 👀👀👀 and until then if you guys send headcanon asks here I will answer them!!!! (Just keep in mind some theories I propose about Seth might technically be "spoilers" if you wanna wait for the reveals over at the ask blog. I'll don't think ask blog spoilers will happen too often but just in case I'll put a spoiler warning above posts like that).
@sunnytheopossum is also working on a comic detailing the off-screen rise and fall of ToTheArk which I am SO HYPE for, so go send him lots of love and support too!!!
We need more Seth advocates out there!!! We shall canonize him the way he deserves!!!!
#i know it i know why Seth and Brian work so well together#my current POV: *staring at my corkboard with everybodys pictures connecting them all back to Seth with red thread* “I know it i know it I#im so excited its a shame Act 3 is probably MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS away from being revealed XD#so send your head canon asks here and i will give you the DEETS#also for anyone who wants me to signal boost their theories and thoughts on characters you are more than welcome to send that here#seth wilson#txt#ask text#asks#headcanons#marble hornets#mh

phighting oc - info + wip art
will edit once i finished art + if anything new happens to him
i might js make another blog for js my phighting stuff, if ur interested or sumn... yeah. i probably will
made one,, @just-another-phighter
so ive got. some.. uh things. btw lemme know if any of this dont make sense im still sorta new his name is mace guys. guess what his gear is !!!
i feel like hes originally from blackrock - he was supposed to give off that kind've vibe. but i feel like he fled to thieves den. no reason for that.. aha.. (totally not bc shuriken idk wym.) anyways heres his attacks n stuff. idc how goofy i explained them !!! it makes sense to me so ..!
primary attack - close attack w mace (since its primary attack, deals more damage than 2nd because technically hes supposed to be better at this since its his 1st opt) secondary attack - ranged attack, chain extends for him to hit (deals less damage than primary, but still a good amount) phinisher - spins around and throws mace in the air, falls back down as a bigger mace. jumps up onto the handle tip and laughs before jumping down to the ball/spike part and being able to lead it to hit in certain directions. swings about 5 times before the mace turns back into a normal size. (teehee,, deals a lot of damage!!)
ability 1 - smoke bombs that the smoke is the color of what team he is/regular outfit skin color. doesnt deal damage, duh. i cant rlly think of a 'sprint' opt so he has this and whenever he throws them down he js sorta runs off.. so thats his like 'sprinting' thing. ability 2 - hits mace against the ground like one of those cartoons where the person is hitting down a hammer. the ground cracks a little and anyone in said area (area is lit with said color of team/regular skin outfit color as a warning before dealing damage) gets hurt. the crack isnt too big and depending on how close/far you are from where he's hitting it could be a lot of damage or a little. most of the time its an easy attack to dodge, though.
he/they pronouns, trans (i totally like dont make most of my ocs trans bc i am haha.. aha.. hah.)
he carves his horns - sometimes he forgets to so they might look a little phunky some days.
tight bandages to help with wrists. when hes not out phighting he wears some of those like wrist wrap things so his wrists dont move around a lot - sometimes they be hurting because of how he swings around his mace n stuff.
i kinda be shipping him w shuri but technically hes single so like. yeah.
sharp teeth. because i said so.
his personality is sorta all over the place. sometimes hes nice, sometimes hes an asshole. hes learn to let loose a little bc of shuri. he likes hanging out at the cafe sometimes - if hes not though hes either training (somewhere..) or being emo.
k thats it for now

Does Misa Satsukino (Gundam Breaker 3) have a Ryu number? [I don't know if this is against the rules because while it is a game it's very much based on an anime.]
Misa Satsukino has a (Limited) Ryu Number of 3/does not have a Ryu Number.
(explanation below)
Gundam characters usually aren't too difficult to link given the series's long history with Super Robot Wars, but the key point here is that moreso than being a Gundam game, Gundam Breakers is more accurately a Gunpla game.
Gunpla, of course, being the wildly popular model kits based on the titular mecha, and most importantly for this blog's purposes, not actually the mecha themselves.
To that end, while the likes of Amuro are technically present in the recently shut down Gundam Breaker Mobile, they appeared as AI pilots you could assign to your Gunpla while participating in Gunpla battles, instead of the in-universe flesh-and-blood Gunpla nerds the game was ostensibly about.
So in a sense, these pilots all "appear" in whatever game-like system the Gunpla battles take place in. But does that count as an appearance in Gundam Breaker Mobile alongside the actual Gunpla battlers?
While I'm generally pretty hard-nosed about not counting depictions that are fictional in-universe, which kinda comes part and parcel with the Gunpla conceit, the Twitter account's judgment on in-universe media appearances is "How lazy is it?". In that sense, you could make a decent case that this is worth carving out an exception for. They all came with their own set of stats and characteristics, they were all voiced, and while this is personal speculation, if the primary appeal of Gundam Breaker as a series is playing with Gundam models by assembling and battling with them, the secondary appeal of Gundam Breaker Mobile was getting your favorite characters to pilot said Gundam models. So in a sense, you could assert the in-universe Gunpla battles were the actual core of Gundam Breaker Mobile, and the story with the "real" characters were little more than periphery flavor.
Now, my gut is to keep being a hard-nose about the in-universe depiction thing separating the two levels of fictionality at play, but complicating matters is that the game also added its own story characters as AI pilots.
So now there's characters that exist in both the fictional universe of Gundam Breaker Mobile and the artificial Gunpla battle system that exists within the fictional universe of Gundam Breaker Mobile. Are those the same character and character appearance within Gundam Breaker Mobile? I don't know, this is the exact situation I try to avoid with Extended Ryu Numbers and real ass people, just wrapped around another layer of fictionality. (Which itself could imply that, if you take the dubious step of extending the Gundam Breaker Mobile universe by asserting that other fiction beyond Gundam exists almost exactly as it does in real life, these characters have in-universe Ryu Numbers, which has to be by far the most ridiculous phrase I have ever seen fit to post.)
Not complicated enough for you? There's also AI pilots from Gundam Breaker Battlogue, the tie-in ONA for Gundam Breaker, which naturally includes Misa herself.
Honestly, if I'm twisting myself into this many Gordian knots just to establish some basic ground truths, I may as well cut it myself by saying that yeah, sure, she can have a Ryu Number if you want. It might even be Limited, going by when the Misa AI pilot was available. I don't know. Embrace and reject nuance simultaneously.
(Also, there's multiple Haros don't fucking @ me)

Monster Spotlight: Torturer Robot
CR 8
Neutral Small Construct
Numeria, Land of Fallen Stars, pg. 59
Looking like little more than ominous floating balls when at rest (much like their inspiration), these members of the Robot line of creatures unfold into horrifying arrays of brutal weapons when 'on the clock,' each sawblade, knife, pincer, and syringe devoted to one thing and one thing only: Making you talk. Like most Robots these creatures are often found in the service of the Technic League in Numeria, where the machines were first discovered, where they're used to interrogate the League's many, many, many enemies and root out dissent. While rare, Robots of any kind can be encountered just about anywhere in the northern Inner Sea, either because they were smuggled out of Numeria, left on their own, or because of whatever plot contrivance your DM can conceive.
Since this is the first Robot we've ever seen on this blog, let's go over some Bot Basics: Most Robots have a Force Field, a shield of shimmering energy visible to any creature looking at the thing. The field acts as a secondary HP bar that must be broken through to damage the underlying Construct, and while the field is in place, the Robot is immune to critical hits. In the Torturer's case, its shield is 40 HP, regains 8 HP a round, and takes 24 hours to reactivate if brought to 0 HP. Their field is important, because Robots are Vulnerable to Critical Hits and are forced to make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be stunned (a condition they're otherwise immune to) if they're ever successfully struck with one; even succeeding the save staggers them for a round! They're also Vulnerable to Electricity, taking +50% damage from Electric attacks.
Robots are all intelligent Constructs, capable of using skills and feats, as well as making tactical decisions and conceiving of abstract ideas or uses for their powers that a normal Construct would not be able to, though most Robots are restricted by specific programming that cannot be easily altered (thus remaining immune to mind-affecting effects). In the Torturer's case, it's given a series of questions by its handlers, questions it repeats one at a time to its victims as it flenses, burns, twists, and breaks them until they scream out an answer that its +19 Sense Motive analyzes as "satisfactory." If they refuse to speak or if they try and lie to it, things get so much worse for them.
The Torturer's primary means of both extracting information and defending itself lays in the quartet of sawblades they employ. It can attack with all four of them as a Full-Attack, each one dealing 1d4+5 damage but having a critical range of 18-20. They can also fire upwards to four Lasers a round, the beams of energy having a range of 50ft, resolving as touch attacks (with +16 to hit), and dealing 1d8 Fire damage. While a single attack isn't a lot of damage, a Full-Attack fires four of them, and Lasers bypass all transparent items between them and their target, be it a physical barrier (like glass or an invisible creature) or a magical/technological one (such as a Force Field or a Forcecage), so any creature hoping to hide behind anything but solid, opaque cover can be cooked all the same.
Side note: The Lasers mention "plus fire" in their damage description, but neither AoN nor the book itself explains what this means; I assume it's meant to just be "fire" to explain the damage type, as every other Robot's ranged attack has an elemental descriptor.
Against helpless targets, a Torturer can Interrogate them as a standard action; it rolls a Heal check with its +17 modifier, and that creature must make a Fortitude save against the result of the roll. If the unfortunate victim fails, the Torturer inflicts 1d4 points of ability score damage to a score of its own choice, cutting away at them body and mind until it hears what it's been programmed to want. There's no limit to the number of times it can perform an Interrogation, only that the victim must be helpless, so anyone trapped at its mercy... well, they're probably going to look like a velstrac's art project afterwords if they don't start talking fast enough.
While the Torturer tends to have its victims brought to it by its associates and thus they're already restrained, it has its own ways to incapacitate creatures should the need arise. In addition to its aforementioned weapons, the machine has self-replenishing payloads of Nanites waiting to do horrifying things to the biology of any creature they're injected into. As a standard action it can inject the Nanites as a melee touch attack, and can do so to force exhaustion or nausea onto the target, with the nausea lasting 1d4 rounds. If the victim is already nauseated they're paralyzed for 1d4 rounds instead! A DC 17 Fortitude save partially resists the Nanites, causing sickness instead of nausea or fatigue instead of exhaustion, but in the latter case being injected again next round means your save doesn't matter since being subject to a fatiguing effect while already fatigued causes exhaustion anyway.
The Nanites have more than just offensive functions, oddly enough. A dose can be used to cast Cure Serious Wounds, restoring 3d8+10 HP to any creature that accepts the restoration... though this one is mostly used to smack torture victims back into consciousness. The bots can also undo their grievous torture with Lesser Restoration, and interestingly the injections can be used as both Neutralize Poison and Remove Disease. With their native +17 to Heal checks, Torturers ironically make good emergency medics as well, something that hasn't gone unnoticed by the Technic League. They're not only a nuisance in battle, but they also make other creatures on their side harder to permanently put down!
You can read more about them here.

For me, the biggest cons with secondary blogs are:
You can't send asks via secondary blogs. If you want to, then you have to set the ask to anonymous and tag yourself with a little signature (like I did at the end of this ask) if you want to be notified when it's answered.
When you follow people, it only shows them your main blog. My writing blog technically has mutuals, but I don't show up as a mutual for them because it only shows my original blog, which basically just runs on a queue now.
When you want to block people, it will usually only do it on your main blog. If you want to block them on the secondary blogs as well, you will usually have to do that manually by typing in their username in the secondary blog's settings.
You can't change which blog is your main and which is your secondary.
— @cantstoptheimagines
okay i'm sorry i'm really tired and i just want to clarify: you can send asks by secondary blog, but you can only do it anonymously (and then tag yourself at the end)? or you have to send it from your main blog and you click anonymous to hide the primary blog's identity?

See the problem with the book that I'm not naming directly on this blog because it's self pubbed is that it cannot make itself criticize the forced marriage system in any meaningful fashion because at the end of the day this book is about how great it is to get married and have children. Sure it can try to be like the marriage program sucks but when every main or secondary character ends up In Love with their true genetic matches it really kills of any kind of punch. I suppose technically Josephine didn't but again I have to point out that the tragedy of Josephine being strapped to a table and being a sedated baby factory is per the book that she will not get to raise the children or get married. Aisha's parents didn't get her son and that's the tragedy, not the years and bodily autonomy of which these women were robbed. The marriage program isn't wrong because it's forcing women to get married will they or nil they to men with whom they will be required to reproduce, but because rich men can buy their way into marrying women with better fertility rather than meeting their 'true' genetic matches.
The book can't make itself criticize the actual removal of freedoms, which is why it cannot be taken seriously.
(Also the dialogue and prose are pretty mediocre)
(Also I object to a book being called 'clean' just because it refuses to swear or use the word sex)
