The First Experiment is set in the Fallout Equestria universe, during the height of The Great War. It follows ponies from 5 ministries linked together in a group chat as part of a "morale building social experiment."
But something feels off, not everypony is telling the truth, and the true intentions of this experiment have yet to be revealed.
Don't be paranoid. Report suspicious ponies.
Fallout Equestria: The First Experiment is an EAST Corp Production. EAST Corp began as an audio drama production channel, splintering off from the failed Stable Tec Studios. Over the past five years we have produced Confessions of a Wasteland Pony, Terminal Secrets, The Wasteland Survival Guide, the documentary The Great Experiment, and the music of The Balefire Symphony.

honestly if i hadn't tried playing genshin myself back when it started being relevant i wouldn't even know what you Do in this game because all of the ads only showcase the character design and not the gameplay
#it's all COME PLAY OUR GAME WE HAVE HOT PEOPLE. ok. what do the hot people do. i guess they fight. what else.#like from what i remember of my own experience + what i've heard since it's got a lot of stuff going on it could advertise#lots of systems to upgrade your characters. crafting. botw style exploring. quests with actually decent stories#but all it focuses on is Here's the 3d model you can spend hundreds hoping to randomly pull !#i'd almost think it's sad the devs think their game has no other leg to stand on than its waifus and some guys but#it's not that they think that it's just mihoyo want moneys#if i didn't know in my heart that honkai star rail is probably Exactly The Same As Genshin But In Space#i Also wouldn't even know what the gameplay is because all i've seen of it so far is It Has Anime Women#like... how is one of the most successful games of our era something that sells itself on nothing more than thirst traps fkfjdkd

Nora has a new game to torment her friends with because why not? And to give her favorite people a small break from FMK. The game: Would You Rather. Her first contestant/victim, Jaune. Because why not? He can do with a nice change of pace. He seems to almost expect Nora to ask FMK at this point. Gotta keep him on his toes ya know?
Jaune WYR: marry Tifa or Aerith from FF7?
Jaune: WYR
Nora: Hey, Jaune! I got a new game we can play!
Jaune: If it’s anything like, MFK, MFE, or BMI I will strap you to a chair, and make you watch dog movies.
Nora: How is that a threat?
Jaune: Sad dog movies where the dog may, or may not die in the end!
Nora: (Horrified gasp!)
Nora: You’re a monster!
Jaune: I am my monsters gatekeeper, Nora. Keep on pushing my buttons any further, and I will let them out to play~!
Nora: Ahhhhh?!!?!
Nora: WYR!
Jaune: Eh?
Nora: Would You Rather!
Jaune: Eh?
Nora: Would you rather marry, Tifa, or Aerith from FF7!
Jaune: …
Jaune: Haaa… Okay, listen up, Nora. I have never played, FF7, I’ve seen videos… well, it was more of a movie considering how many cutscenes there was in that remake they did. But, I barely know anything about FF7, and the characters in it.
Jaune: I know they’re both… terrorist, rebels? One of the two, they’re interchangeable. They’re involved in this weird love triangle with, Cloud. I think…?
Jaune: I know, Aerith is the flower girl who dies, and that made everyone sad… for some reason.
Jaune: And, I know, Tifa is the eye candy/waifu of the, Final Fantasy series… at least I think she is…? All because she has… did…? She has a big rack!
Jaune: And, there was that whole, Italian fiasco…
Nora: The what?
Jaune: I know the bare bones about the game! So I’m going to have to pick, Tifa!
Nora: Because of her boobs?
Jaune: Because of her big boobs!
Nora: Really? I thought you would make a more in depth, and well thought out choice.
Jaune: Nora, if you look at the pair from just from the character designs, you can choose between either the cute flower girl, or the hot brawler babe. Who do you choose?
Nora: What?! Kind of choice is that, flower girl, or brawler babe? How can you rationalize a choice like…?!
Jaune: Ruby is the cute flower girl, Yang is the hot brawler babe. Who would you rather?
Nora: …
Nora: Yang…
Jaune: Because of her boobs?
Nora: Because of her big boobs…
Jaune: Ha! Told you.
///
I do know the bare bones about the games. Never played them, and I don’t care for RPG’s. There’s no replay value to me.

Hello!!! I've been reading ur jinwoo fanfics everyday bc I'm addicted hehe. But though I do have 1 question, and I'd respect any opinions. Do you think Cha Hae-in and our boy jinwoo is fated for e/o? Honestly speaking, she came out of nowhere.. I honestly thought him and his healer friend was gonna be together!(I forgot her name:() it would be cute and good dynamic to see them be together. Hey, Cha Hae-in is gorgeous she's a girlboss like slay. But he literally like ignored(?) or did not respect jinwoo until she found out he was strong. So in my opinion I think Jinwoo would look more good with his old healer friend☹️❤️🩹🫂 she looks like she was inlove with jinwoo too.. so I kinda feel bad for her. But I guess whatever makes jinwoo happy‼️ but what do you think?
...I'm gonna get flamed and blocked but here's what i ithink
They could've worked honestly. I get the allure of Power couple but on my personal preferrence i never rlly cared abt that kind of dynamic xD. Jinwoo and Hae-in's dynamic feel so sudden and uh forced? It's rllly jst random. But i never read the novel because im lazy and i read other novels. i heard they have more(?) chemistry there? Ik ppl will flame me for this but I rlly think its complete bullshit that such a wonderful and powerful woman like Cha Hae-in is reduced to just a trophy(by trophy I mean for the mc to get as a reward for his efforts. Hae-in feels like that even tho ik she's more than that, that's rlly how she was used in the plot im srry but i still love her to some degree) for Jinwoo. I heard in the anime they will make her have more personality? But so far all I've seen are jst plain fanservice (The fanservice also applies to Jinwoo //hello miner jinwoo but atleast we have more emotional development with him) Hae-in x Jinwoo for me is a mess. Could've worked but not developed right. As u said, yeah, she appeared out of nowhere. The healer named Juhee is where the real chemistry started really, I like their relationship because Juhee saw Jinwoo at his worst and I'm a sucker for dynamics where the love interest has seen the mc at his lowest point. Jinwoo had a chemistry with her that Hae-in didn't have qq. I wish Hae-in and Jinwoo had a proper development, but for me Juhee still wins in these aspects. But Juhee developed well imo since she chose herself and her happiness. A good-ish way for her to leave the plot but her departure is very sad for me.
Imagine a plot where Juhee discovered Jinwoo in danger and she rushes headfirst in despite her ptsd, wouldn't that be a wonderful plot?
Hae-in shouldn't have been used as a reward for Jinwoo. I really think she should be given a spotlight just for her. It's sour on my mouth that generally if you think of Hae-in it's "Jinwoo's wife" and "Suho's mother" coming to mind instead of this brilliant and awe-inspiring swordswoman who dominates the hunter industry. It's so infuriating that she's rlly jst for waifu uses;;. So yeah, that's my take. Jinwoo x Hae-in doesn't really work for me and it randomly appeared. Juhee x Jinwoo will forever be a plot I will never stop mourning.(ALSO TY FOR LIKING MY WORKS HAHAH QWQ!!!)
so all in all, nope, not fated, the reader have more dynamics with jinwoo atp

Seeing the Nosferatu and Creature of The Black Lagoon remake summaries reminds me that heterosexual Monster movie summaries are like "The intense and tragic and erotic encounter between a Lagoon creature/vampire/demon/victorian zombie and a woman he is infatuated with." When will the monster be the woman.
Seriously. So fucking seriously. The most I can think of off the top of my head are one-off bogeywomen who never brush the mainstream.
First off, monster women. Not sexy waifu vampire girl with baby fangs meets Average Everyman and they do kissing about it. Real monster women. Who are decayed, or ugly, or inhuman, or outright horrifying. Even just a visibly cadaverous revenant babe ala Warm Bodies' R or Lisa Frankenstein's Creature. Where are they? Where the hell are the actually monstrous monster women?
I know The Ritual has Moder the Jotunn and her badass giant chimera god utterly non-human look. She does some killing, as one does. But we only actually learn she was female from outside sources, not in the film itself. When Moder is referred to as 'a god' the assumption is male, rather than just calling her 'a goddess.' Feels like a cheat.
There's Jenifer from Masters of Horror, based off the comic from Creepy by Bruce Jones and Bernie Wrightson. Her whole deal is being 1) Unavoidably uncannily grotesque and 2) Capable of some depraved shit via simple violence or using her psychic ability to orchestrate some very very unpleasant intimate interludes (and tragic demises).
I know the V/H/S movies have gotten a good handful in, some Medusas and body horror babes, but always in the form of those brief one-shot anthology bits. There and gone. They had an exception with Lilith (the type who starts as Pretty Girl and transforms into Something Else) who appears in the first movie with "Amateur Night" and got her own standalone movie with Siren, which I thought was a really well done sexual/amorous horror story--one in which the woman is the unambiguous predatory monster seeking and assaulting a man as her human crush-target. ...And is also barely known to the horror community.
There's the nightmare shit that happened to the protagonist of Bite. The full movie is here. Do not--Do NOT--watch if you have any phobias to do with insects, disease, reproduction or slow transformative body horror. This is the daughter of Cronenberg's The Fly and The Metamorphosis' pure misery. Good god.
And...that's it. That is the full roster of visibly monstrous females on film I have in my memory.
Second thing: Romance. Human Guy and Monster Lady.
Literally the only thing that comes to mind is 1) Corpse Bride with the Most Hourglassed and Beestung Pout Lipped Cadaver You Have Ever Seen and 2) Spring (2014). The latter I haven't seen yet, but the premise is very clearly Legit Monster Babe and Smitten Lover. Kudos.
Everything else I've come across is just Hot Chick has Fangs and the guy is a guy. No genderswapped Beauty and the Beast. No scaly hulking Ladycreature of the Lagoon pining for a young man taking a swim. No eldritch/demonic horror-woman forming a relationship with a male admirer who has heart eyes despite (or because of) her power and monstrosity.
There is no equivalent of Nosferatu with a female villain being gruesome yet intoxicating to her young man victim.
There is no equivalent of Lisa Frankenstein or otherwise romantic fairy tale between a scary bogeywoman and a handsome--dare we dream, pretty--gentleman.
It simply does not happen in the mainstream and rarely if ever in the niche indie efforts.
And I'd ask why, but like. We know why.
Who wants to see a frightening woman as the powerful villain?
Who wants to see a frightening woman as a romantic partner?
Who wants to see a frightening woman?
#(Other than#say#women who might enjoy seeing a woman permitted to be frightening. Or a threat. Or a lover. But who cares about those?)#having Thoughts about this one#horror

I've been waiting to respond since you made that post mocking us for wanting problematic characters banned from your polls because apparently you are not taking legitimate criticism of anime seriously. Because it is full of poor representation of minorities and lgbtq+ and you and all of your followers are laughing about it like it's nothing.
I will start with Yamato because everyone acts like one piece even though it's so full of misogyny. Having a trans character is amazing when I don't even think Yamato is actually trans. I'm pretty sure it's a translation error and everyone has latched on to it. So again that is not good representation if it's not confirmed representation and even if it was confirmed, it's not good representation. Yamato because of the one piece art style by default Yamato is full-blown a fetishization of trans people because all one piece characters if they are drawn, female presenting are drawn like sex dolls. So unless they go through an actual gender transition and not just a pronoun change. There cannot be good representation with Yamato because Yamato is a fetish, not a fully fleshed out character. I mean to boil it all down. I don't think the author is capable of having any good lgbtq+ representation one piece is just not a sophisticated enough story and the characters are just too shallow for that to be possible
Bleach did a similar thing with Yoruichi acting like it was so amazing to have a character of color and she is supposedly bisexual but she's just waifu bait and it reeks of misogyny and fetishization of BIPOC. She's a furry to top it all off. It doesn't help that the bunny chick from my hero is basically the new gen version of the same character, but at least she is disabled too. So at least they tried to do something with her character other than waifu bait
So I would like to know why every character I've seen promoted as great representation in anime for either the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ communities seem to only be horribly fetishized, useless, waifu bait. Not actually a good character.
And even when Japan is dealing with its own ethnic minorities and indigenous populations it still does a horrible job by playing into the Noble Savage stereotype Hollywood likes to play into. Have you not seen the anime Golden Kamuy? It's about Japan's own first Nations tribe and it's So disrespectful to that. I swear they could not have had a single person from Hokkaido, much less a member of the actual Ainu people involved in the creation of that anime or manga. And yet I've seen so many people brag about that anime and manga and how it's so good for diversity. When again, every single Ainu character acts like a bad native American stereotype from like a 1950s American Hollywood western. It's that bad and don't get me started on the fan service in that show. It's at a level that could be considered exploitative but it's okay. Some of the characters might be gay so it's representation. To top it all off it reinforces white colonial beauty standards because the main Ainu character is specially because she's half white and has blue eyes like her white dad and she talks about how she's going to be a new kind of better Ainu for the future because she's white passing. That show is a reductive racist dumpster fire and I can't believe anyone says otherwise.
But you said you won't ban characters unless the fandom becomes too toxic. But you really should consider looking out for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities by not promoting toxic problematic characters and actually banning these toxic problematic characters and shows

୨୧·࣭࣪̇˖ 𝆬 girl dad Chūya 𝆬 ·࣭࣪̇˖୨୧
Girl dad Chūya, who, the moment he learns he's having a little girl with you, is already overjoyed, coming up with names you both will hopefully like and thinking about how to furnish the future bedroom, how to best bond with her.
Girl dad Chūya, who usually isn't prone to overthinking, though he can't help but worry about his future daughter — or daughters. While he'd like to protect her himself at all times, he knows that won't be possible, which is why he's quick to teach her some ways of self-defense. If she inherited his Ability, great; if not, he'll teach her some basic fight moves even if she has no actual interest in martial arts. It's for an important reason, after all. Really, he might just get her something a little more strong than pepper spray, too — just in case.
Naturally, he'll defend her with his life as well; if anyone were to ever try and hurt you or her, he makes sure to get rid of them.
Girl dad Chūya, who bonds easily with his daughter, no matter what her hobby is — if she's more into sports, perhaps soccer or even martial arts, that's amazing; he's not the best martial artist in the Port Mafia for nothing, and he'll gladly teach her how to get her movements to be extra crisp and sharp. If she's into fashion, that's great, too, given how he takes dressing himself properly seriously as well, and he won't hesitate to buy her whatever she sets her eyes on. He's got the necessary money, after all. Even if she's into art and books and other topics he himself isn't too interested in — not to say he's not fond of a good painting or novel; he just rarely finds the time to indulge in those kind of interest —, he makes sure to encourage her to be herself, to do what makes her happy, and often asks specific questions about the novel she's reading or the piece she's currently drawing to be as involved as possible.
He doesn't mind sitting through three to four Barbie movies in a row; at one point, he even starts getting into them rather than just tolerating them, grimacing at the antagonists and cheering for Barbie and Ken, though he'll also recommend other films, especially ones that aren't stereotypically seen as girly and feminine. Just because she likes Barbie doesn't mean she can't also enjoy Jurassic Park or Star Wars, after all.
Girl dad Chūya, who does absolutely anything to make sure his daughter is happy and safe; even though he's a strong and scary mafioso at day, his Ability terrifying and powerful, his rank as an executive intimidating, he won't shy away from painting his nails just to see his daughter giggle and to hold imaginary tea parties with her. God, if she wants to, he'll even squeeze himself into a frilly dress, a tiara on his head, matching the one on his daughter's, if only it makes her laugh.
That's the most important thing, after all. He didn't have a particularly happy childhood himself, which is why he'll do his utmost to make sure her early years of life are as perfect as can be.

Part 2 of me screaming my head off
SPOILERS FOR 2.5
JINGYUAN IS RACIST, MORE AT 10
No but he's one of my favorite characters and one of the reasons is explicitly said BY HIM, when you live for hundreds of years, sometimes you're going to be a real piece of shit and if you're functionally immortal, you HAVE to grow and you HAVE to deal with the shitty person you've been.
Look I know they go hard with waifus for the paycheck but god damn they went hard with Feixiao and I love them for it. I fucking adore her. You can see her backstop coming, but who fucking cares. And "I never want to see this shit again" (paraphrasing) is great.
Hoolay was so fucking good. "Yeees, you brought me back from my 700 year imprisonment!!...... wait what the fuck do you mean you're so weak you had to bring back a 700 year old prisoner" Yes he was undeniably evil, but he still had his own primal "code" and I just think he was very well done (for someone who existed in 2 patches) okay
THIS was phenomenal. THIS fight kicked the SHIT out of me.
Oh Jiaoqiu. Oh, my darling. I got spoiled on this beforehand and I've never put my phone down so quickly. For like a split second earlier I was like NO. HE SACRIFICED HIMSELF??? Sacrificing your vision is rough but I'm so glad he's alive. And I haven't seen anyone else mention this but he must have gotten a chunk taken out of him and drained of blood??? Like Hoolay was poisoned because he ATE part of him. Bro got CANNIBALIZED.
ANYWAY
Luocha has been carrying around Tayzzronth?? Or a fragment of them??
YOOOOOOOOOO THE DELIVERY OF THIS IN ENG WAS FUCKING GREAT.
I'M SO FUCKING HYPED TO SEE TINGYUN 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
Although if Sunday is coming in that patch... sorry babes, I'll have to get you on the rerun.

About Syir, from Pokemadhouse
TW: Mentions of R4pe and Abu53
If you follow me for a while, must have seen my Pokemadhouse rage about Syir The Gardevoir.
But unfortunally i never explained WHY i hate her so much and why my blood boils when i talk about her.
So, here is the big explanation, in topics.
1-So, who is Syir and what did she do?
Syir is a character from Poke Madhouse, a now deleted pokemon comic made by Lily and Mikaila Orchard that talks about a pokemon world and the lives of their ocs and their pokemon in a house.
In this world Gardevoirs are the most dangerous and powerful species of pokemon, and Syir is a Female Gardevoir whose trainer is nothless than Diantha, The Kalos Champion.
And not only that, she and Diantha are implied on being in a relationship, wich in Poke Madhouse world is seen as the worst crime a person can do, even if its consensual. Gardevoirs are the biggest victims in this, as Lily even said People call them "The Waifu Pokemon", and doesnt help they do a thing called Mating Bond, where they use their psych powers to fuse their lives together.
And in this case, if you think they have a very good relationship...
ITS NOT WHAT HAPPENS HERE.
Diantha in the comics is coerced by her Gardevoir into sexual relationships, even using her psych powers to rape her. And she cant escape or cut the bond, as Syir use it to control and track her, like a leash. Also, Syir kills anyone who discovers about the True nature of their relationship, and its implied in some comics that everyone knows the nature of their relationship but dont do anything in fear of getting killed next.
2-Why no one tried to stop her?
A thing from Poke Madhouse is that Gardevoirs are in risk of extinction and have very short lifespans because of excessive breeding to get perfect Gardevoirs and shinies (Basically Lily dissing People who do this). So they are an endangered species. Also, this was Lily decision, without any reason besides "why not?"
There were at least 3 People who gave reasonable plans to defeat her. Poison, Guns, attack with pokemons with type advantage. All good and reasonable things within pokemon universe. However, all Lily answered them was a meme.
This meme
Basically, the answer to everyone wanting to defeat Syir. Literally a "You cant" in form of a bad meme.
Lily says that Syir is too powerful and evil to be defeated, to the point there's nothing anyone can do. Even G and C!Lily couldnt. Hell even Bonnie cant stop her, lily said that if they met Bonnie would cry and hide.
Actually, this will be the final topic, the reason i hate her.
3-Snitches get Stitches
In 2020, Lily added a thing in Madhouse wikia Page of Syir, currently deleted by her. She added a small lore info about Diantha and Syir.
Diantha one day managed to escape Syir and tried to find Help on the last person who tried to stop her Gardevoir: C!Lily.
C!Lily was an enforcer, a kind of pokemon cop, who really tried to stop Syir. However, Syir almost murdered both her and G, wich made C!Lily abandon all investigation she made, and made her terrified of Syir.
Diantha begged her for help, to find a way to save her. But C!Lily didnt wanted to help, because Syir threatened to kill everyone who she loved if she tried anything.
So what C!Lily did?
She gave Diantha back to Syir.
She GAVE. AN ABUSE VICTIM. BACK TO ITS ABUSER.
Now you get it why i feel so much hate towards her?
I dont care about any drama of hers, i cant EXCUSE THAT SHE WROTE SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND WANTS ME TO LIKE HER CHARACTERS.
TO LIKE G, C!LILY OR ANYONE ELSE.
She May have deleted the original pages and only left the nuke attack she gave to Syir.
But i will never forget what she did.
And i will never forgive.

Whenever I see the "there is no F/F content in fandoms, fandoms hate women" discussion on Tumblr, all I can think of is a phrase that is guaranteed to enrage half the Tumblr fandom audience, maybe more: "Have you tried imageboards?".
When I was younger, I used to frequent different anime and cartoon-themed imageboards. Big ones like 4Chan's /a/ and /co/, smaller ones meant for specific fandoms or kinks, non-English ones in my native language, you name it. The users were mostly straight men, and the F/F content and shipping flourished there. The "waifu threads" exclusively dedicated to gushing about female blorbos. The wast majority of kink content involving fictional women, either alone, with a nondescript self-insert man or with each other. The F/F fanart, fanfiction and ideas were just limitless, to the point where you would struggle to find one or two discussions about the guys in the midst of everyone celebrating the women.
The anime, cartoon or comic has a cast full of women? They will all get love. Women and men both? Women will generate much more discussion. One or two women amidst the cast full of men? People will mostly post about the two women, deal with it. Sure, there were designated boards and threads for the male characters, but good luck expecting there to be as much activity as there were in the waifu threads. The fandoms with lots of female characters, such as Touhou Project, thrived on these grounds, and much F/F shipping was had by everyone.
Now, of course, the imageboard culture is an entire separate beast. Right-leaning, edgy, bigoted - basically, what you get if you put a bunch of ostracized and lonely cishet male nerds in an echo chamber and let them feed each other bullshit all day long. A lot of the F/F art they made was sexual in nature, something that could be decried as sexualisation, but, the way I remember it, it was not much different from what is often done to male characters by straight women who ship M/M because they find the two dudes hot. A lot of gushing about waifus by the anonymous 4Chan dudes could be seen as misogynistic, despite the language being practically the same as when a Tumblr fandom girl is describing her blorboman and the things she wants to see done to him.
It all comes down to the the real life influencing the way we interact with fiction: male sexuality is viewed in a different light than female sexuality, despite both being more or less demonized in our society, just in different ways. Men are always predators, women are always victims. When a guy has sexual fantasies about a female character, he is a creep who wants to hurt real life women to enact these fantasies. When a woman has sexual fantasies about male characters, she cannot tell fiction from reality and is at risk of getting hurt by men while trying to enact these fantasies. And if either of them fantasizes about a same-sex couple, they are fetishizing queer people, obviously.
However, that's just how people roll - you cannot change what gender you are attracted to, and people with similar attractions stick together. It just so happens that the fandom side of Tumblr largely consists of straight women and queer men, so you get ships with guys, while the fandom side of 4Chan and the like largely consists of straight men, so you get ships with women. Both sides also happen to have cultures that don't mix well, and someone who frequents one place is likely to avoid the other.
I don't frequent 4Chan anymore, and I'm not big on fandom Tumblr, either, but Tumblr continues to be the unique place where I am more likely to stumble upon erotic fandom content featuring men than women, who are the majorly discussed and shipped characters practically everywhere else. I obviously do not excuse 4Chan's bigotry and rampant hateful bullshit, but my point still stands: if you want to see more F/F shipping and discussions of girl blorbos, but don't feel like making some yourself and creating a like-minded community on Tumblr, you should try your luck elsewhere on the Internet, especially when it comes to anime and cape comic fandoms. Tumblr is a unique place in terms of male-centric fandom content, and honestly, it's not that bad, if Tumblr isn't the only place you find your stuff at. It simply occupies a specific niche and doesn't offer much of everything else (though you can still find it if you look).
--
Now, be fair: plenty of imageboards are full of nominally straight guys who love millions of female blorbos... and art of Link getting wrecked.

and Crosshair like ... has waifus and is a retired sniper LMAO
omg hi six ily mootie <33 thank you for this fic swap >_< this is my gift to you and i hope you enjoy! mwah kisses
fireworks
crosshair x gender-neutral jedi reader (fem anatomy)
summary: you've retired on pabu after befriending phee, who introduced you to this place once she realized you were in need of a safe place away from the empire. eventually, you also met clone force 99 after they settled into retirement as well (post s3 events). catching the attention of the particularly standoffish sniper wasn't on your list of expectations for your island life experience, especially because of his preference to avoid you and remain holed up in his room. it isn't until you accidentally intrude upon a private moment that you learn what he actually prefers underneath his frigid demeanor.
warnings: explicit content (oral sex)
a/n: i make ONE ick-themed hc post on tiktok saying crosshair would have waifus irl and this is what happens...dw guys it's not actually serious but apparently the holonet is a dark place in the sw universe. had to do some research...
₍ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ₎
“Listen. I really thought I was done for, and I’ve handled a lot worse than some ratty smugglers trying to take something that’s not theirs. But you’ll never guess who appeared…”
“Who?” A collective gasp sounds in unison.
Phee raises her fingers to her lips and leans over her audience. She’s about to reveal the big name when she sees you approaching in the near distance that’s close enough for you to hear her theatrics. While the children crowded around her are sitting wide-eyed and cross-legged on the wooden dock, she’s standing tall at the very end where the waves occasionally splash up toward her boots. You’re not surprised she’s bringing up how you two first met again, but you also know that her constant mention of you saving her life that day comes from a place of gratitude above anything else.
You pause once you’re behind the children and cross your arms over your chest, smiling with amusement. “Gossiping, are we, Phee?”
“Look who it is,” the pirate replies, chuckling when her audience whips around to look at you in awe, “My hero.”
Rolling your eyes, you wave a dismissive hand before resting it against your forearm again. “I wonder which variation of the story you’re planning on telling today.”
“The correct one, of course,” she winks before looking down at the children and continuing her recount of how you swooped into her rescue.
Your eyebrows slightly raise at some exaggerated inaccuracies here and there, which is to be expected. However, the overall picture remains aligned with your memory of fighting off those money-grubbing smugglers to help a stranger who is now your friend—and the reason you’ve been able to make peace with your life after the Empire took everything from you. Pabu is a much better place to be than any street that could turn you in for being a Jedi. And yet, this part of your identity is never truly forgotten. It’s the reason you interfered with Phee’s conflict in the first place, for you’ve always been taught to help those in need and fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.
But retirement is nice when you wake up to sunny mornings and an oceanfront view that almost feels like a figment of your imagination. There’s no fighting here. No struggle. It’s truly the paradise you weren’t even looking for but stumbled upon anyway. From one good deed to the next, you always feel lucky that Phee brought you here. You’re not the only one she introduced to this place, though.
“I’ve heard at least three different versions of this story so far,” Omega says to you as she tugs on your hand from the ground, “And that’s excluding what you told me.”
You look down at the young clone and laugh softly, shaking your head. “Which one was the coolest, do you think?”
“Hmmm,” she pauses to think about it, “I like the one where you took out your lightsaber. That was pretty cool.”
“My lightsaber was long gone at that point,” you clarify, “But I can see why that version is your favorite.”
Some of the surrounding chatter rises and captures Omega’s attention again, allowing you to ruminate within your own thoughts. Even though your past experiences linger in your mind and speak from your lips from time to time, Pabu is a clean slate. The person you are here has wildly more opportunities for life’s different paths than the person you thought you would grow up to become. It’s not anything like what you once knew from the Temple. This freedom is both a breath of fresh air and a terrifying truth that hangs your decisions in a balance between what is right and what is wanted. You don’t have to look over your shoulder anymore, though. You don’t have to restrict yourself from your happiness. You can simply let yourself go.
“How’s that for a story?” Phee asks as she approaches your side with a hand on her hip.
“I think they liked it,” you reply, nodding your chin at the children as both of you watch their lively conversation through a softening gaze. The calm horizon and the colorful beaches weren’t the only sources of life around this island. Above anything, it was the youth who gave this place its strength. They had also escaped from Imperial nightmares, but there are only dreams in this corner of the galaxy. You feel them every day, just like you feel a warm breeze suddenly tickle your skin. Closing your eyes, you inhale once and smell salt while all the background noises blur together.
“Not sure if I ever asked,” Phee suddenly brings up, “But…do you like it here so far?”
“Yeah,” you look at her before glancing around at the neighboring docks where the merchants and fishers can be seen hard at work, “It’s lovely here. I should thank you for even bringing me.”
“It’s no worries—I’m glad you’ve adjusted. Looks like they have, too.”
You follow the direction of her eyes as she gestures toward two of the soldiers who have also made this place their permanent home rather than just a temporary refuge. They’re clones from the war in which you also fought. The taller, bigger one catches your gaze first and cracks a big grin that you’ve come to recognize pretty quickly with how easily it appears. Wrecker, they call him. You smile back, not as wide, and lift your hand in a friendly wave that he returns before nudging his brother beside him. This one, you’ve come to realize, is a bit tougher to crack. His expression always maintains a stone-cold scowl while his eyes graze lower angles. He only looks up when others aren’t watching—or, at least, when he thinks others aren’t watching. He's always visible to you, though.
“What’s Crosshair doing out and about?” You ask casually, folding your arms over your chest again as you stare straight at him.
Just like you expect, he doesn’t meet your eyes, but you know he’s aware of your attention. His left hand comes up, not to wave, but to stick a toothpick between his lips before he shoves at Wrecker’s intrusion toward his personal space. Your gaze momentarily flicks toward his right hand, which is a new prosthetic after an incident you still haven’t asked about even though you’ve made a substantial amount of small talk with his entire squad. Out of everyone, you know him the least. All you know is that he likes staying inside, which is why his presence out in the docks tonight surprises you.
“So, the homebody rumors are true,” Phee replies.
“I hardly see him around,” you shrug, “But he seems like a bit of a loner, anyway.”
“Aw, he’s not so bad. Not the nicest, I’d say, but he’s fine.”
You snicker under your breath and peel your eyes away from him to give him some space despite the distance between your bodies. He doesn’t have to be close for you to sense the uncomfortable nerves boiling in his stomach. Tension wracks his entire spirit—you feel it deep inside your own. And you suspect that he’s now looking at you, which you confirm when you briefly turn your head in his direction. His body instinctively shifts away, causing you to laugh again. You shouldn’t be playing with him like this, but it’s too much fun. It’s also too easy.
“I wouldn’t know,” you tell Phee, “He’s never spoken to me before.”
“Really? Not once? Thought I introduced you all…”
“Yeah, you did. It’s fine—I don’t take it personally. Everyone has their reasons.”
“I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you just went up and talked to him,” Phee thinks aloud, “He might act like he does, but he’s harmless.”
You smile and shrug. “He doesn’t look harmless.”
The pirate raises her eyebrows at this comment, and you anticipate that she’s about to ask for further elaboration before another voice enters the mix. It’s Omega, who asks, “Are you talking about Crosshair?”
You nod, so she continues, “He asks about you sometimes.”
This surprises you as you look across the docks at him again. He’s now sitting on some crates, right in the middle of a conversation occurring right above his head between Wrecker and one of the fisherwomen they were helping just before. She’s laughing at something he’s saying, while Crosshair appears as if he might die of boredom right then and there.
“Interesting,” you say.
“Mhm. Wrecker and I think he likes you.”
Laughing, you shake your head. “I wouldn’t go that far.”
Your attention toward Omega and Phee trails off as they begin talking about something else while Wrecker concludes his conversation with the woman at the dock. Your posture straightens a bit when he grabs Crosshair by the shoulder and hauls him up before they begin making their way over to…you. At first, you think they’re here for Omega, but they’re still standing in front of you even after greeting their little sister. Phee, too. You glance between them, still not completely used to how different they look, before deciding to take a stab at Crosshair’s silence.
“Good catches today, Crosshair?”
His eyes meet yours for just a second before he looks away and flicks his toothpick toward the ground. “Not any worse than yesterday.”
“You were out here yesterday? Funny…I don’t think I saw you.”
He draws his eyebrows together in annoyance, but he only shrugs. Wrecker pauses his conversation with Omega to interject, “Yeah, Crosshair’s been helping me out a little. I keep telling him not to stay inside all the time—he’s getting pale again.”
The former sniper rolls his eyes, pointing his body slightly away from this conversation. It’s clear that he doesn’t want to be here, but you’re curious to see just how far you can push him around. Your head cocks to the side as you smile and lean toward him a bit, catching his gaze without his permission. His eyes are heavy-lidded, almost snakelike with how they look back at you. Maybe he’d seem scarier if he wasn’t so damn nervous.
“I see some tan coming through,” you observe, “But you’re right, Wrecker. It’s better to spend time outside with the weather we get here.”
“You’ll stay for the fireworks tonight, right?” Omega asks her brothers hopefully.
“Fireworks?” Crosshair replies disdainfully.
The young girl gives him a pointed look. “For Lyana’s birthday.”
“I don’t even know who that is.”
“Crosshair, Lyana is the mayor’s daughter,” Omega groans, “Shep? Lyana?”
“Oh,” he drawls, but he’s already pulling away from the conversation as he heads back up the docks.
You watch him leave before deciding to follow him, lingering close behind his quiet footsteps all the way up the winding staircases to where you assume he’s headed: his house. It isn’t until he pauses and asks, “Are you following me?” that you stop in your tracks.
“Actually, I was just headed in the same direction,” you reply, now shoulder to shoulder with him, “We’re neighbors, you know.”
“I know.”
“Just checking.”
He side-eyes you, which you catch when you return his stare. Expecting him to say something, you’re surprised when all he does is scoff under his breath before continuing forward again. Rude. You scoff as well, looking straight at his backside as his figure grows smaller from the distance. Eventually, he reaches his house, and he’s gone again. Slipping into disappearance is easy for someone as nimble as him. He was once a sniper, so he’s used to hiding in the shadows. He doesn’t seem to know that there’s a lot of sunlight waiting for him on this island now. At the moment, though, the horizon is getting dimmer in preparation for Lyana’s birthday celebration. You’ve definitely agreed to attend, but it would be nice if this particular homebody did as well. Maybe then you can score a real conversation with him.
The decision on whether or not you should try to convince him is something you linger upon while getting ready for the night. In your own home, you’ve stripped out of your clothes that are worn out from the day and changed into something a little more fun. By the time you’ve finished your makeup, you’ve come to the conclusion that you feel more like a normal person than a former Jedi tonight. So, it’s only fair that you engage in “normal people” activities like socializing and forgetting about watching life go by on the sidelines. Everything about this island is so safe—it makes you want to take risks. That’s why you find yourself at Crosshair’s front door soon after making your final decision.
“Crosshair?” You knock softly, just twice, “You in there?”
No answer. Pursing your lips, your hand comes around the doorknob. Nobody bothers to lock anything around here, which remains true with this household. You enter the cottage quietly, stepping across the floorboards as if you’re on a stealth mission from the war. The circumstances are hardly that dire, but your heart is a bit excited nonetheless. It’s beating with energy and life, the same type you’re looking for tonight. A thrill. A rush.
Some noise sounds from a room across the hallway, so you follow it. It’s not alarming at first, but the closer you draw, the louder it becomes. Warmth suddenly floods your chest and neck, pooling lower into your stomach while heating up your face. Because all of a sudden, you hear moaning. It’s feminine and desperate—a little exaggerated, too. Your first instinct leads you to believe that this is a real encounter happening in the room right in front of your raised fingertips, but the male voice that makes an appearance proves you otherwise. The cinematic exchange of degrading vocabulary adds an ache to the warmth coursing through your body, making you forget that you’ve frozen in place.
You can’t even see what’s going on in the room—what Crosshair’s even watching—but you feel all that he is at the moment. His presence is so near, and it’s hot like yours. Bothered. There’s a tight frustration in the air, slowly loosening with the passing time. Everything is so slow. It’s excruciatingly slow. Suddenly, you hear someone suck his teeth, and you’re now able to differentiate the film from real life. The background noises sound grainy and holographic, especially compared to this authentic sound in your ears. There’s no doubt that was Crosshair just now. Something about his familiar tone traces this momentary expression of his desire.
You hear it again, this time louder, and you know he’s close. He has to be close. This startles you, so you accidentally step back and regret it as soon as the floorboards creak ever so slightly. Maybe he didn’t hear it. Maybe he’s too busy—no. A panic seizes your chest when the hologram abruptly shuts off, leaving the room to silence other than some shuffling around. Move, you tell yourself. You’re about to be caught, but you’re still standing in front of his room like an idiot. But maybe, deep down, you don’t want to leave. Maybe this is the fun you were looking for tonight. And maybe, you’re meant to show him what that is. And he can show you.
The door opens just a crack before swinging wider in clear surprise. Crosshair looks bewildered on the other side of the entrance, breathing hard and heavy with a pink flush against his cheeks. His skin is probably just as feverish as yours if not more so, but you haven’t reached forward to confirm that yet. Straightening your posture, you fold your arms over your chest and try to appear casual while running your gaze up and down his figure. He’s still hard. His pants do little to conceal the shape and size of his length, which seems to match his overall physique—tall and lean. An absentminded smile curves your lips before you quickly meet his widened eyes again.
“I totally get it,” you tease while walking past him into his room uninvited, “I’d rather watch porn than some fireworks, too. Birthdays aren’t really my thing.”
“I wasn’t watching porn,” you hear him say behind you as you sweep your eyes around the space.
His tone sounds terse and impatient, laced with a frustration he hasn’t yet released. Your finger finds the button of his holopad that you click to see what the noise is all about. When the video continues playing, illuminating this dark room in blue lighting, your smile widens and you say, “Sure.”
He sighs and runs a hand over his face. “What are you doing here?”
You take a few steps toward him until you’re standing face to face. Any closer, and his hard-on will be right up against where you’ve begun to feel a pulse beating softly but surely. He doesn’t look at you as you study him closely, but the labored breathing from his lips is enough to tell you how he’s still feeling. Both of you can hear the holovid playing in the background, escalating into a louder scene that occasionally makes his breath hitch. For someone so unflinching on the outside, he’s surprisingly riled up right now.
“I was gonna ask if you cared to join us for the celebration,” you tell him honestly, “But now…I’m thinking it won’t be so bad if we’re a little late.”
“We?” He mutters.
You slip your hands under his shirt, so fast and unpredictable that he can’t stop you. “Yeah. We.”
His throat bobs as your hands slowly run across his stomach. He’s definitely not as muscular and large as someone like Wrecker, but you’ve never been all that impressed by the burly ones. Crosshair might appear skinny in his clothes, but that’s just a curious invitation to get to know what’s underneath. And what you feel right now is exactly what you imagined—in a good way.
“I feel bad for the interruption,” you whisper, “So, I should probably make it up to you. If you’d like that.”
He stares at you in disbelief. “Is this some kind of joke?”
Your hands move lower, just about to break through his waistband. “Does it feel like it is?”
Swallowing, a scowl forms on his face. “No.”
“Good,” you tell him, dragging his pants down just an inch, “Because it’s not.”
He takes you by the wrist, stopping you for a moment. When you look at him in question, tilting your head to the side a little, you see how much pain he’s currently in. His eyebrows are drawn together and his jaw is clenched, but his hold on you is so tight that you have no choice but to respect this moment of pause.
“You’re not drunk or anything,” he asks, “Are you?”
This question takes you by surprise as you lean back a little. “No. What makes you think I’m drunk?”
His expression shifts from pathetic desperation to wariness, but he doesn’t respond. You laugh quietly, but it sounds more like an exhale as his hesitation becomes more clear to you. It’s confusion you sense from his demeanor—confusion as to why you’re offering this moment in the first place. Confusion as to why you’re looking at him the way you are now. Confusion as to why you’re still here. But to you, there’s nothing more certain than your interest in him despite all the times he’s avoided your presence and dodged your conversations. You remember the first words you said to him when you were first introduced—words that you didn’t care he ignored. Not much of a talker, huh? The answer was already obvious at the time. It still is, just like it still doesn’t bother you.
“I’m sober,” you clarify when he remains silent, “And I want you.”
“Unless…” you glance over your shoulder to snicker at the holovid that’s still playing in the background, “Someone like that is more your type.”
He follows your eyes to the curvy Twi’lek woman arched over on all fours before cringing slightly, perhaps out of his own embarrassment. It isn’t every day that someone catches him in a situation like this. You smile when he meets your gaze again, leaning closer in expectance of an answer. Instead of saying anything, he lets go of your wrist and tugs you forward by your belt loops. Your breath hitches in surprise as you meet him halfway and brace your hands on his chest before dropping a kiss to his jawline. Maybe he thinks you’ll kiss him again, this time on the mouth, but you’ve already begun sinking to your knees and dragging his pants down with you. This time, he doesn’t intervene. Once you reach the floor, staring up at him while trying to ignore the real situation that’s occupying most of your peripheral, you notice that he looks a bit smug under the frustration in his eyes. Of course, he likes seeing you on your knees. For him.
“What do you like?” You ask him, “You can tell me how you like it.”
His fingers find your hair, knotting tightly as he releases a ragged breath and tips his head back a little. “I like you. Do whatever you want.”
The confession stirs something warm inside of you, coloring your cheeks hotter. But you only raise your eyebrows and smile casually in response, not wanting to disrupt any relaxation with nerves. If anything, his words give you confidence that you haven’t completely made a fool out of yourself before anything’s even happened. Fixating your gaze on his throat, you watch it swallow hard when your lips find his tip before wrapping around him completely. You’re not sure if you can take all of him into your mouth until you confirm for certain that you definitely can’t when your eyes begin welling up in tears from the thick pressure of his length. So, you pull back completely and spread his pre cum with your saliva across his pulsing flesh. Once he’s inside of your mouth again with your hand making up for the rest of his length that didn’t quite fit the way you wanted, you start sucking. He groans as your tongue teases his tip, and you think all is going well until the woman in the holovid makes an abrupt sound that causes both of you to pause and look at each other.
It’s so loud and intrusive that you’re reminded the hologram is still running in the background, which only makes you laugh. This is hardly any circumstance to find amusing, but you can’t help it. Covering your giggles with the back of your hand, you mumble an apology and inhale a deep breath. About to pick up where you left off, you’re surprised when he chuckles as well before leaning over you and powering down his holopad. Even though the sound is brief like it just barely escaped his lips, you see some relaxed humor softening his eyes as they look down at you. He’s smiling a little, too. It’s subtle but there, and you see it for the first time since you’ve met him. You return the expression before taking him in your mouth again, sucking slowly while pumping the rest of him with your hand. His face shifts as he closes his eyes and tips his head back again, fisting your hair tighter but not pushing you further.
Instead, his hips lightly thrust into your movements as an indication to keep going. You moan softly at this, overwhelmed by all that’s happening both inside and around you. But this doesn’t scare you away, especially not when you hear him getting closer—maybe back to where he was before you so rudely interrupted his alone time. He sucks his teeth a few times, and the sound is just like what you heard from the other side of the door. It shoots straight through your body, from the top of your head to the center of your desires where an erratic pulse is beating between your legs. You suddenly know so much about him, especially the way he tastes and feels on your tongue when he abruptly finishes before either of you can heed a warning.
His eyes widen as he stares down at you and watches you swallow even though he was just about to offer for you to spit it out. You wipe a finger across your bottom lip, satisfied that he was able to finish despite your momentary intrusion. As you stand you make sure to pull his clothes back up with your body, fixing his state of decency, you’re startled when he grabs your chin and kisses you. It’s a little strange to you at first, given where your mouth has just been, but neither of you pulls away first. Not until he says, “You’re not leaving already, are you?”
“I can’t forget about my invitation,” You whisper back, circling your arms around his neck for something to hold onto.
“But this is the fun part for me.”
Your lips part in surprise just before he kisses you again, slowly backing you into his bed with the intention of returning your favor. A rush of excitement floods your senses as you brace one hand back to cushion your fall, but the feeling is not just your own. It’s also his. Because to him, the only thing more entertaining than his own pleasure would be yours. You lean back against both hands when he kneels in front of you, smiling at this sudden change in balance.
“You look handsome from up here,” you tell him, “On your knees…”
He rolls his eyes, and his expression might’ve felt more intimidating if not for his hand absentmindedly caressing your ankle. “Don’t get used to it.”
You laugh and help him undress your lower half, feeling the rough and cool pads of his fingertips against your skin. He then pauses for a moment, seemingly looking at you through an uncertain stare that compels you to reach forward and cup the side of his face. Your touch is reassuring, tugging at the confidence he doesn't lack. It's just that he's a little stunned, for it's you who occupies his thoughts and lives in his dreams day after day. And here you are, in his bed, with your legs carefully moved over his shoulders so he can kiss the inside of your thighs before moving higher. And higher until your breath hitches and you feel his lips just ghost over where you crave him.
Suddenly, the first firework booms in the distance overhead. You open your eyes and glance outside the window, where the sky begins to color with these harmless explosions. Your gaze shifts back down to Crosshair, whose slightly irritated frown makes you smile. And when he smiles back, you know this is hardly an interruption. It's not a push to hurry, either. You can take your time with him tonight because Pabu will always be outside and waiting for your arrival. No matter how late.

Hi! What do you think about that moment in LN 9 of My Next Life as a Villainess where Catarina considers staying in Ocean Harbor Town if Maria did?
This one:
As a Marikata shipper I was really happy at first because it meant that Catarina wanted to stay at Maria's side as much as Maria wanted to stay at hers. However I also think it was a mistake. Both in the sense that the author accidentally added something that implies Catarina values being close to Maria more than the rest of her loved ones, which clearly isn't his intention considering the rest of his writing, and in the sense that it makes Catarina have a very glaring case of favoritism that doesn't really suit her.
She has known the rest of her friends plus Anne and Keith for a decade (and her parents for all her life considering she's the OG Catarina who got extra memories at 8 and diverged paths) while she's only known Maria for 3 years at that point. Even with romantic feelings it seems a little unbelievable that there wouldn't be a "but my family and other friends".
Part of me wonders if it's meant to represent the usual part of graduating and being an adult? (which would be kinda sad but that's something I could get behind) Like, she already sees her early friend group way less since she got her job so she's used to them not being there as much and leaving the parents' house is seen as the norm in many cultures too. Also there's the fact of finding something she could do instead of being a noble which, aside from the great quantity sweets, doesn't appeal to her. Besides she'd be following someone she really likes, which, also something people usually do.
So uh, what do you think?
I think that while you can chalk some of it up to her blatant infatuation with Maria and the general idea of moving out when one grows up that she'd get more of from her past life than her current life, it can be chalked up a bit more to the fact that Katarina has spent the ten years she's known everyone else wondering which of them is going to be the one that leads to her death/banishment.
While we don't know how much, there is a part of Katarina that definitely hasn't fully let go of the thought that those she loves could one day wish to be rid of her. Even with the confessions of certain members of the harem, Katarina doesn't have that full faith in them.
Maria, in contrast, aside from being her "waifu," is someone who she knows likes her, even if she doesn't understand the nature of that manner of care. Maria in the game is also not the one directly responsible for what happens to Katarina in the original game's endings. Maria is safe to her eyes. Sophia and Mary are tied to Nicol and Alan, and we can safely assume that the characters are tied to the trial scene, given that she didn't seem surprised to see them at the trial. Maria refusing to condemn her there, even more than the others standing up for her, probably had way more pull to her than the others.
Now, let's consider the testimonies in the trial, themselves. There are exactly two members of the original game cast harem that don't call her an idiot in that scene. To his credit, Geordo is one of them. Even Sophia, with whom Katarina regularly holds book clubs, and Mary, who Katarina discusses gardening tips with, both directly state that she is not smart enough to bully Maria. In a move that makes me think he actually could be a good king, Geordo, however, legitimately reviews the "evidence" the other girls had and notes that it's circumstantial at best. He does not, however, say anything about Katarina as a person.
In contrast, Maria is the only person to note upon Katarina as a person being too kind to do such a thing.
Despite her inability to notice people are in love with her, Katarina is, in point of fact, extraordinarily observant of people. The author does seem to have lessened her ability to plot to an extent, but that particular aspect is very much still a part of her, as shown by the fact that she knew that Larna Smith and Suzanna Randall were the same person despite how masterful Suzanna is at disguise. Notably, however, she can misinterpret things if she's looking at it through her lens of "I am a villainess." For example, the aforementioned obliviousness when it comes to her romantic prospects.
Katarina also has a significantly better memory than the most tend to give her credit for.
From all of this, while she can accept that her friends care for her, to her eyes, she is still The Villainess Katarina Claes, and they clearly don't think that highly of her if they think she's just too stupid to bully Maria. Combine that with how her mother will chastise her for not being ladylike and critiquing her actions, something born from love but something that clearly distresses Katarina and makes her feel that she's less than worthy of her lot in life.
In essence, Katarina sees everyone who has been around her for ten years as viewing her as stupid and her mother as loving her, but not particularly liking her. She might have experienced the confessions of Keith and Geordo, but those are simply things that happened (the Keith confession is a completely different, disgusting can of worms), and there's almost definitely a part of her that still hasn't accepted that they won't discard her. Contrast that with how she immediately starts listing people that she feels would be sad if Maria was gone.
Simply put, Katarina views herself as someone who could pull up her stakes and go with next to no fuss from most of the people in her life. With that in mind, of course she'd be willing to uproot her whole life to be with Maria, whose first thought about her in that defining moment of their lives was to call her kind, who is willing to fight dark mages for Katarina's sake despite her fear, who was willing to tutor her and wanted to join the Ministry to be by her side.
Why wouldn't Katarina be willing to run away with the girl who unequivocally told her that she wants her in her life forever?

Sorry king gotta rant. Why does Bernie having trauma mean you can't dislike her? Where's this energy for Rhea, who lost her people and mother? Catherine has good reason to support Rhea since she saved her fucking life but she doesn't get that pass. Dimitri is mentally ill as hell but I don't see Bernie stans defending him? Oh because Bernie didn't hurt anyone else? Okay, what about cyril? The 14 year old boy who was saved from SLAVERY brings up his surrogate mom a lot. Who did he hurt? Why is Bernie's annoying "funny footsteps" ass where the line is drawn? Everyone in 3h has trauma! People can hate whomever they want don't get me wrong but don't act like your favorite traumatized waifu is above criticism while characters like Rhea get dragged through the fucking mud. I guess trauma is only valid if you support the emperor.
Valid feelings imo anon.
I have come and gone on how I feel about Bernadetta, because it's extremely apparent what she was written as: a character whose major gimmick is meant for surface level laughs and entertainment, with a backstory intended to endear her to the audience.
But therein lies many issues I have.
---One support conversation with Byleth, and she says she's fine around them, for no discernable reason according to her. Her entire support chain, including her Goddess Tower scene, is her all but saying "I can't and never could do anything without you professor!" That's a problem 3H has in general because it has no idea how to intentionally write an actual developed relationship. It's why the Lions' intense homoeroticism within its cast, along with Ferdinand and Hubert, are the most common ships outside of Byleth centered ones, as those effectively stumbled into gold.
Comparatively, most other romantic chains-where love/marriage/a relationship was blatantly intended-fall flat because they shove a lot of it into the A supports (sometimes the B rank ones too), which also has to complete the support chain's arc, making one/two conversations tackle two different and delicate topics at once.
I know people are critical of Awakening and especially Fates having romance being hamfisted in the S ranks, but at least you can complete a support chain's story in those games without the shoddy lovey dovey aspect being required reading alongside the conclusion. It's unavoidable in 3H, and also makes many characters look like shitty, emotionally immature people in a meta sense because they can have these near-confessions-of-love with different characters simultaneously due to it being in the A ranks. Not in a cute polyamorous way, either, no just ludicrous.
I digress though, because this affects Bernadetta for me specifically because it's such a rough backstory that it fails to get me to suspend my disbelief that she can suddenly become comfortable with a very speficic stranger to the point of falling for them. Compounding that with a military academy, events, and eventually a war? Yeah, no, it makes no fucking sense.
---Simiarly, as you say, the music that accompanies her supports makes the revelation of her backstory feel insincere and vacuous. Now, I praise similar kinds of writing in games like Engage with Alfred, for example, where learning a very important detail recontextualizes everything you know and have seen about the character. With Alfred, knowing about his illness and losing his father at a young age, it shifts the entire thought process about his supports, story scenes, Firene as a whole, etc.
The difference between him and Bernadetta though, is the sense of respect. Perhaps it's due to Alfred being plot important, but Alfred is written in a way that signals "I, the writer, respect my work, respect the character I'm putting time and effort into, and respect the audience who is consuming it." Alfred has funny music scenes too, but it's never at the cost of making a joke of his trauma. His muscle worship is funny to listen to, his fitness/health regimen is nutty, his overly enthusiastic personality is entertaining, but none of this is at the expense of his vulnerable points. There's hardly, if any, instances of him being forced into changing who he is, altering his beliefs and lifestyle, or being made into a perennial punchline.
Bernadetta, on the other hand, is almost always treated horribly by the support writing. Yelled at by Edelgard, forced out of her room by Ingrid, beat up by a rabbit in Petra's support, accosted by both Ferdinand and Hubert, carried against her will by Caspar, etc. The only supports where I can comfortably say she's treated all right is with Dorothea, Leonie, Raphael, Seteth and Alois, and even then, a couple of those are reliant on a character getting backstory/teachable moment in between her screaming.
It boils down to "Haha, look at this kooky situation that Bernadetta found herself in because of her shut-in personality, what will happen next? 🤪", meanwhile the whole reason why she's like that is because was violently abused by her father and a childhood friend of hers was nearly beaten to death. The backstory itself, doesn't even recontextualize everything the way Alfred's does either, because now all I think when Bernadetta's screaming is "wow, this is fucking gross and potentially triggering for people who also hate having boundaries crossed due to trauma."
And this is the same game that gave us Dimitri's story arc lol. Then again, most of the female characters in 3H have some garbage writing attached to them, soooo...
---This is personal, but I also just can't jibe with Bernadetta conceptually.
Her part one design is okay (aside from the "wow crazy face Bernadetta cuz she's scared haha! 🤪), but her part two design is kinda horrid.
I don't like her voice at all, though that's not an indictment of Erica Mendez at all (she's great as Deirdre and Lianna). It's the direction and character concept, I just hate high pitched squealing and screaming, no matter the voice type, it hits my ears in the worst way.
She's pretty cool as a unit, due to the vengeance builds and having a good spell list if you wanna go a magic route, but... that's about it.
I don't know if I hate Bernadetta herself, or even really dislike her, but I do vehemently hate the concepts behind her and how she's written.
Really, I think people should feel how they feel about whatever character. And I agree, I think it's kinda BS how certain characters are treated worse than others because their personalities are "more annoying/less endearing" despite also being in similar situations.
