I'm bored and unable to focus rn, but take some Billy facts:
- Their callsign is Billy because they are v good at parkour and rockclimbing, and the joke is that you will find them in places that humanly shpuld be impossible. They use this to their advantage because it means they can fire shots from places that are weird.
- It's also because they will eat damn well anything. Can handle their spice despite being very fucking white.
- a decent shot. They grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, and used to use their BB gun to keep foxes away from the chickens.
- They want to take over the family farm when they finally retire.
- Because the SAS saved their great grandfather's ass in WW2, they wanted to be SAS from the time they were seven to fourteen. They moved from Canada to the UK to join the British Army and moved onto the SAS, using their mothers maiden name. The great grandfather in question was their mother's paternal grandfather, and thus they felt it was honoring him.
- Yes, I know that women are not accepted into most combat positions in the SAS. I am ignoring that for a good story.

Fool! We know that Etho is 33-34 because he’s a few months older than pause who we know the age of
But yeah no Etho is the cryptid friend on discord who you know only the specifics about and not their age or name
i love the spectrum of faceless youtubers
like, at the bottom we have ranboo. he hasn't face revealed but is willing to stream with facecam and appear in vlogs if he has his mask and sunglasses.
then, we have dream, who's posted a few photos of himself modeling his merch without his face in the photo, and of course some photos wearing that famously creepy smile mask (lol)
then we have xisuma, who did his scream mask "face reveal" and has posted a few videos covering metal songs on the guitar while wearing it (iconic)
and then...we have etho. who to my knowledge has only ever posted one (1) real life photo in his entire decade-long career, and it was of broken headphones. a true cryptid
#I’d know cuz apparently I am that friend on discord#that you’re right gen#Etho is a mystery and I love that about him#the fan gets stopped constantly when flying places cuz he tried to get a BB gun into Canada (not great idea)#the man*

How many women are assaulted while TRAs insist this never happens?
A woman was allegedly raped by a sex offender at a women’s shelter in Ontario, Canada after the predator identified as transgender in order to gain access to the facility.
Shane Jacob Green, 25, was arrested on August 24 by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). At the time, the OPP issued a notice stating Green had been charged with two counts of sexual assault, four counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and one count of failing to comply with a release order.
But new details have emerged through the Toronto Sunrevealing that Green’s crimes occurred while he was staying in a women’s emergency shelter in Parry Sound.
Green is well known to police and has multiple prior offenses — including a conviction for having sexually assaulted a woman in 2018. Green was handed 114 days in prison for the crime, and was made to provide DNA in order to catalogue him in the national offenders registry.
According to the Sun, Green, who is homeless, had approached the Parry Sound shelter on August 22 and declared he was a woman in order to get a place to stay. While in the home, Green had allegedly been making sexually inappropriate comments to staff and residents, his behavior culminating in a sexual assault that occurred just two days later. He was arrested on August 24, the day of the assault, and is currently at Parry Sound Jail awaiting trial.
At the time of his arrest, Green was on probation. But this was not the first time he’d committed a crime while under release conditions.
In 2019, after being released from jail for the 2018 assault, Green was arrested in Welland, Ontario, for stalking and harassing two young girls who had been in a Tim Horton’s coffee shop.
The teens had noticed Green leering at them through the window of the restaurant and became uncomfortable. They left the Tim Horton’s out of fear and went to a nearby mall, but Green pursued them. When the girls noticed Green had continued to follow them, they fled into a store for safety.
After a period of time and the apparent disappearance of Green, the girls went back to the Tim Horton’s, only to have Green return and sit directly behind them. Green had a loaded BB gun on him at the time, a weapon that was visible to the girls as it was tucked in his waistband. Police were called and Green was taken into custody.
Prior to the August 22 attack, Green had allegedly attempted to access other shelters in the area, going so far as to claim he had a child to do so. He had reportedly been flagged by the shelter system in Strathroy due to his manipulative nature.
According to the Sun, Green was known for leveraging his knowledge of gender self-identification policies both with police and women’s resource centers. Green sometimes uses the name “Stephanie” when claiming to be transgender. Staff at the women’s shelter where the rape allegedly occurred may have been too afraid to turn Green away due to the risk of running afoul of Canada’s notoriously pro-trans human rights law.
In June, Reduxx reported that a Canadian woman had been evicted from a transitional house in British Columbia after raising concerns about gender self-identification policy.
The woman, who spoke exclusively to Reduxx under the condition of anonymity, described multiple disturbing incidents that had occurred within the residence while she stayed there, including having been exposed to a trans-identified male posing naked outside of her bedroom.
After raising concerns with shelter staff, the woman, who had been there in order to escape domestic violence, was told she was “transphobic” and had to find a new place to stay.
By Jennifer Seiland Jennifer is a founding member of the Reduxx team, writing with a focus on crimes against women and sex-based rights rights advocacy. She is located in the American south where she is a passionate animal welfare advocate and avid coffee drinker.

FOOD IN THE TIME OF SOCIAL DISTANCING — Days ??? -- ???, Pesto Margherita Pizza // Blueberry Scones // Bird with My Leftover Terrible Bread // Goat Cheese & Mushroom Tart
A coworker pointed out that the day I thought was my last in the office was actually a Saturday, so I’ve officially lost track of time. I don’t think it matters by this point; all time is now, February was yesterday and also a thousand years ago, and tomorrow is either July or Grune. It’s...fine, probably.
But I have become an amateur urban birdwatcher in the time that doesn’t exist currently! Take a look at that cute lady up there. I’m pretty sure she’s a female house sparrow (Passer domesticus) based on her coloring. She was very hungry the day I took this picture, and kept coming back---even though the loaf has been gone for a week, her friends keep coming back and hopping around a bit before taking off.
I was also visited by this extremely loud Canada goose, who spent---I’m not kidding---ten solid minutes perched on that railing and honking his goosish lungs out. It was so loud, and went on for so long, that folks started poking their heads out their apartment windows, trying to figure out what the fuss was about. It was a lovely bonding moment, except for a couple of us (or maybe just me) contemplating how useful it would be to have a BB gun just then.

Everything else in my life is food and work, and then doing dishes afterwards. Sometimes there’s music, and I dance while doing the dishes; other times I can only coax myself into doing dishes in the morning, when there’s coffee and I am reasonably awake. I swear, 50% of life right now is just doing dishes, over and over. It’s kind of disappointing to find out that the collapsing of your world is more Ilya Kaminsky than Mary Karr, but I’m not sure I expected “things beautiful, noble, and wrong”---I just didn’t expect all the goddamn dishes.

Top 5 holiday movies for the viewers at home?
After much consideration, I've decided that 5 isn't enough. It must be 10. Sorry in advance to the other couple dozen movies that could have been on here. And so, in no particular order:
1: Die Hard (1988) Everybody's got to mention Die Hard, right? A group of handsome male models robbing Nakatomi Plaza during Christmas and looking gorgeous while they do it. And I guess Bruce Willis and the dad from Family Matters are there somewhere, I don't know.
2: Lethal Weapon (1987) Alright, but seriously, while the world is busy "ironically" putting Die Hard on their Christmas movie lists, they often forget about this holiday classic. Not only is it a great background setting, but I consider the Christmas spirit to be integral to both Riggs' and Murtaugh's story arcs. Die Hard and Lethal Weapon will always be double-billed here.
3: Home Alone (1990) Honestly, I wanted to put Planes, Trains & Automobiles on the list, but Thanksgiving comes before Halloween in Canada, so I have even less of an excuse to relate it to "the holidays" than Americans do. Nonetheless, a John Hughes-penned film has its place on my holiday mantel. The kids love it, the adults love it, John Candy's there. What more could you want?
4: Scrooged (1988) Sometimes lambasted as either too cynical or too sentimental, I myself believe that Scrooged gets the balance pretty near perfect. Bill Murray is at his best as the seemingly irredeemable asshole modern Scrooge named Frank Cross, and the supporting cast is fantastic. The television-faced Ghost of Christmas Future is just so damn creepy and cool in this, too.
5: Jingle All the Way (1996) Sometimes lambasted as either too cynical or too... shit, hang on. While a fantastic satire of Christmas consumerism, this movie is indeed very goofy. You're telling me that stupid kid didn't recognize his gigantic Austrian father just because he had a visor and a voice modulator? Ridiculous! Aside from that, I love Jingle All the Way with my entire heart. Have you ever noticed how many jokes there are in reviews about Arnold Schwarzenegger playing an American with an American family in this and other films? Like, do they think immigrants just hang out in their scary segregated bars all day and only marry other immigrants and pop out kids who somehow also have foreign accents? But I digress.
6: Black Christmas (1974) There's only room for one Bob Clark-helmed Christmas movie on this list, and it doesn't involve BB guns. The classic that starts all of the "can a non-Italian movie be a giallo?" and "what's the difference between a slasher and a giallo?" arguments with your friends (maybe just my friends?), it cemented the importance of Canadian productions in both the horror and holiday genres.
7: The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) Scrooge again! But this time it's got the Muppets and Michael Caine and that old-timey setting that you would be missing if you only watched something like Scrooged. And it's a musical, you have to have a musical somewhere on a Christmas movie list.
8: The Hebrew Hammer (2003) You said "holiday", not "Christmas". 'Tis the season, goyim! It's pretty fucking sad that this almost 20-year-old comedy about a Jewish private eye having to defeat the evil son of Santa Claus is one of the only Hanukkah movies around outside of Hallmark and Adam Sandler. But if this is all you're going to get, it's pretty damn great.
9: Eastern Promises (2007) It takes place during Christmas. It's a Christmas movie. Fuck you. It's a Very Cronenberg Christmas. I won't hear otherwise.
10: Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) / Christmas Evil (1980) Breaking my own "list of 10" rule by sticking these together. There was so much controversy about a horror film having a killer Santa when Silent Night, Deadly Night was released. If anyone had ever actually seen Christmas Evil when it came out, I'm sure it would have gotten the same treatment. Both are about a traumatized man dressing up as Santa Claus and murdering people. There are plenty of differences between the two movies, of course, but I like to consider them siblings.

Junkers 88A-1 3Z+BB (Wk Nº 4136) of Stab 1./KG 77 crashed landed at Eastend Green Farm near Hertingfordbury, Herts., 3 October 1940.
During the peak of war, Hatfield Aerodrome saw itself under attack when on 3rd October 1940 the factory was bombed by an enemy Junkers 88A-1.
The attack centred on the 94 Shop and the Airspeed Design Office. It took the lives of 26 employees, many of them being young apprentices and factory boys. Anti-aircraft guns set the Junkers on fire and it crashed at Eastend Green Farm near Hertingfordbury shortly after the raid.
Ironically, Hatfield had not been their intended target (which was Reading) and the crew had become disorientated by low cloud and drizzle they could not believe their luck when a large industrial complex and runway appeared in a gap in the clouds.
Pilot Oblt. Siegward Fiebig and his crew survived and were made prisoners of war. Added: Remaining crew (POW, Canada released 1947): Fw Heinz Ruthof, Obs; Ofw Erich Goebel, R/O and Uffz Kurt Seifert, Gnr

How did you spend your birthday this year
Alone in lockdown. I bought a really nice single-serve chocolate cake from the ~fancy~ bakery (the very stylish employees kept asking me if I was sure I only wanted one individual cake? really?) and ordered a feast of delivery sushi from my favourite local spot and I videocalled my parents and some friends. I for sure watched a movie as well but can’t remember which one. Probably something spooky because my birthday is a little before Halloween.
What was your most memorable day this year
Either, the last day at the office before we went remote-only, and everyone was going around in hushed voices wondering what was going to happen until we finally got the email from management saying we would be remote-only as of Monday so we were all emailing ourselves our workstation IP addresses so we could configure our remote desktop once we got home, etc. and at the end of the day I brought my plant into the elevator and rode down with two other people taking their plants home.
Or the day this summer when my friend who also lives alone and never sees anyone and I went to her family’s cottage and we did mushrooms (me for the first time) and sat outside by the pond and watched the leaves and the clouds and the water and danced to reggaeton and built a fire when it started to get dark (and we were still both tripping, she more than me but I have zero fire-building experience so I was like project managing to keep her On Task) and it was just this perfect beautiful day
What was your most memorable meal you had this year
Birthday sushi, but probably the charcuterie assortment at the cottage after our trip ended is a close second.
Did you find any new hobbies or interests in quarantine
Mostly I picked up ones that I hadn’t been spending time on for a while. I sewed two dresses, studied Japanese including reading lots of manga and watching anime, lately I’ve picked my guitar up for the first time in years and have been knitting a little as well. I did buy an embroidery book but haven’t tried it yet.
What was the last big event/thing you remember doing BC (before covid)?
I genuinely don’t remember. Probably last year’s company Christmas party.
5 good/positive things that happened to you in 2020:
I started doing a weekly tabletop RPG online with a Twitter mutual and his gaming group
Working from home is something I’ve always wished I could do, honestly this was a positive change for me personally
Started doing yoga most days
Started watching a movie with friends while texting in a group chat at least once a week, do recommend
Actually got new tumblr mutuals this year and new followers who weren’t porn spam blogs for the first time since the Exodus!
Biggest messages or lessons learnt from this year?
Humans really do fundamentally need to connect, and while you might feel alone, there are probably a lot of people in your life who’d love to hear from you. Also the importance of rest and giving yourself what you need to recharge your batteries.
And what are you most looking forward to in 2021?
Trying not to have any expectations as far as the wider world, but I’m excited for spring/summer. I hope the cherry tree I planted in my yard this fall flowers and maybe even gets some cherries! I hope the asparagus I planted this year can be harvested next summer. Looking forward to spending time (virtually and maybe irl) with friends and loved ones.
Not gonna tag anyone in particular, please do this if you want to!

BB as very specific things my friends, people on my floor, and I have done this past year
Hal: wandered into an abandoned building the first week, somehow acquired an industrial security camera that sat in the common lobby for months, built rocket shoes
Stig: referred to the gym as "the church of iron", submitted a picture of Chris Hemsworth as him for dorm pictures, broke 3 plastic spoons trying to eat a pint of ice cream
Ingvar: gave a Ted Talk about fishing reels, smuggled out naan from the dining hall to toast it in the toaster oven, watched Veggie Tales until 1 in the morning
Edvin: knitted a fake beard to use in an ancient Athens academic roleplaying game first semester then used the beard again second semester for a Council of Nicaea roleplaying game, made poutine for Canadian Thanksgiving, has a model train set in his dorm room
Ulf: shared his name with two other guys on the floor, named his fish Lazarus after it flopped on the ground for 4 hours before going back in the bowl and living another two months, played the wedding march on a kazoo while walking back to the dorm
Wulf: covered someone's dorm room with ripped up academic journals, locked all the doors so the RAs had to check all the rooms after open house hours had ended, made people hate the song "Werewolves of London"
Jesper: forged a fake birth certificate for the aforementioned Nicaea game, participated in a bed race but wore boots and had to borrow someone's tennis shoes to run in, broke into the nature preserve after dark to watch a meteor shower
Stefan: ran an anonymous meme page that started at least 5 different witch hunts for the owner, started the dark side of the quote door that visiting students weren't allowed to look at, ended up getting a tri-scooter and 2 couches in a game of bigger or better
Lydia: had a Nerf gun battle with a five year old, started a feud between Texas and Canada, convinced her boyfriend that they didn't have gogurts in her state
Thorn: was a lumberjack before becoming a professor, had to be Socrates in the Athens roleplaying game and died, came into the 8 am class holding a suspicious glass of unidentifiable red liquid

The Vancouver Island & Sunshine Coast Loop: A Solo Cycle Tour of BC’s Finest Retirement Communities. Part 1
It all started with a vague feeling that I should DO something before going back to work. One last hurrah. I took a day or two to plot all the locations I wanted to hit, because when I plan our trips (and let's face it, Brian, I'm always the one doing the planning), I want to do everything. Go everywhere. Usually BB Gun is there to keep me grounded, but this time I was on my own. So why not try for it all: Vancouver to Salt Spring to Savary and back on a bicycle in just over a week. Whenever I mentioned my itinerary people would say "wow, that's gonna make for long days". And I thought, yes probably. But what am I going to do with myself all day on my own, if not bike? I had time to extend the trip if necessary, but I know myself. I don’t accomplish much without a deadline. So let's shoot for the proverbial stars. If I miss, I might hit the moon. Or a truck.

Such a keener. I zipped down the hill from our house and crossed my favourite bridge (Canada Line Bikeway: what a treasure), then navigated the chaos that is Richmond. I will always be salty at the lack of biking infrastructure in that city. After tackling the Alex Fraser bridge, which isn’t so bad after rush hour, it was a quick ride to Four Winds Brewing (closed, unfortunately), then left onto quiet, flat, rural roads, which lead me to Tsawassen.

Gavin and I took the ferry to Swartz Bay, then Salt Spring Island. The hill up from Fulford Harbour was a big wake-up call. As were the many hills leading to Ruckle Park. I did not pack light. Still, it was only the first day. Far too early to regret the book, hammock, and cans of wine stuffed into my panniers. I was slightly concerned with the many signs claiming Ruckle Park was full. That seemed odd for a Wednesday, so I carried on to the park anyway. I refilled my water and happened to meet another solo female cyclist also looking for a site. We found one, and decided to split it.

Earlier that day I realized I had put my tires on backwards. Like a ding dong. The tread should be going the OTHER WAY. But I could fix this!

So pumped right now.

After a pleasant evening of reading, wine, and conversation with my unexpected bike buddy, Lynn, I woke up to a deer roaming the campground. I had chocolate and instant coffee to get me back to Fulford Harbour, where I had proper coffee and one of the best samosas of my life. Lynn, on a day trip to Victoria, joined me. I was happy for the company. Our timing was perfect and we caught the early ferry. We took the Lochside Regional Trail from Swartz Bay to Victoria: a beautiful, mostly flat ride though rich grandparent territory. We stopped for lunch at Canoe Brewpub in downtown Victoria.

I had a top notch beet salad and a side of fries. I never regret a side of fries.

Lynn and I parted ways after lunch. I rode the Galloping Goose trail out to Langford. The trail was full of pedestrians and unnecessarily slow cyclists (if Gavin, fully loaded and shaped like a brick, passes you on a hill, he is going to JUDGE you). Eventually I left the Goose and followed Google Maps through Thetis Lake Regional Park.

I too was enchanted at first by the charming name and dappled sunlight. I quickly learned, however, that Thetis Lake Regional Park is a hellhole for cyclists. Worse than Richmond. Richmond. The path wasn’t clearly marked and I found myself stopping, checking the map, and backtracking every two minutes. The loose gravel was a pain, especially on tight corners and steep hills, which I was barely able to walk Gavin up, because the ELEVATION in Thetis Lake Regional Park is absolutely UNNECESSARY. A truly regrettable experience.
Once I finally made it out of that wretched labyrinth, I was only minutes away from Tessa’s place, which included a hot shower, Tessa, and most importantly: Sokka.

This little ragdoll kitten is a huge fan of bikes!

And walks!

And backpack rides!
I had a great time hanging out with Tessa and watching Sokka play with anything and everything. I would die for this cat.
Day 3 began with an unfortunate but necessary backtrack through the nightmare that is Thetis Lake Regional Park, where I was instantly turned around and disheartened. I eventually found my way back to the Galloping Goose, then the Interurban Rail Trail, which took me through Saanich to the Mill Bay Ferry to cross the Saanich Inlet. No way was I going to haul Gavin up the Malahat. No. NO.
I followed the Rotary Route through rural roads, some with shoulders and some without, and stopped in Cowichan Bay. I followed Tessa’s excellent recommendation and hit up the bakery, where I bought a pretzel, cinnamon bun, almond croissant, and cookie: my second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, and afternoon tea. Bakery stockpiles became a daily routine. I was LIVING for CARBS.

The plan that day was to bike from Langford to Nanaimo, which was, as they say, a “big day”. The distance didn’t bother me as I knew what 100km with a loaded bike felt like, more or less. What did bother me was the elevation. It was impossible not to be taken aback by the sheer AUDACITY of each hill standing in my way. They came. They went. They came again and again, hour after hour. I dreaded each downhill because I knew I’d have to make up the elevation.
It took half the day to realize there was nothing I could do about a climb except put Gavin into granny gear and keep going. It took as long as it took, and then it was over. There’s something wonderful in realizing that even the sweatiest hill is temporary, a blip. And every now and then I’d find an unexpectedly beautiful flat stretch and have the road to myself for a minute, and everything reset.

At Ladysmith the Rotary Route spit me out on the Trans Canada highway, which I rode for a handful of kilometers. I thought the highway would be dicey, but I was pleasantly surprised by the (mostly) wide shoulders and reasonable grade. Traffic whipped by, but I found it invigorating. The hardest part was keeping Gavin under the speed limit. I'd take the Trans Canada over Thetis Lake Regional Park any day. After the highway I hopped on some less busy roads, although the rush hour traffic picked up in the afternoon. I ended up in Nanaimo for dinner, where I found a perfect Mexican restaurant and local craft beer. After 116km, I felt surprisingly... normal.

The day wasn’t over yet, however. The last 14km were a roller coaster, and not because of the elevation. When I left downtown Nanaimo, the bright blue sky faded to dull grey and I had suddenly run out of steam. Gavin was heavy. Time slowed. Moments like these, however, are why I travel with candy, and a bag of Swedish Berries saved my life. I ended up at Dave and Ann’s place with high spirits.

I enjoyed a campfire at the lovely lake while the sugar rush faded, then fell asleep to the soft rustle-thud of ripe apples and pears falling to the grass. Tomorrow would also be a “big day”, but with more on the line: catching the 3pm ferry from Comox to Powell so I could get to Townsite Brewing before they closed.
