A Bridge to Cross in Banff National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking around the Castle Mountain Viewpoint with a view looking to the east=northeast to a bridge crossing of the Bow River. This is in Banff National Park. With no traffic present then, I used that time to line myself up to compose a leveled-on view with the bridge crossing. I worked to get a good focal length to include some of the nearby trees and mountainside as a backdrop.

My favorite ship so far HAS to be the TIV MIP Adventure. Like, not only is she gorgeous but PLEASE look up this ship you have to witness the sheer shape of it. It is designed specifically for the installation of wind turbines in offshore locations. Hence the funky shape.
The TIV MPI Adventure is a turbine installation ship that stands tall at 138.55 meters in length, with a beam of 40.80 meters. It has a powerful propulsion system, featuring three Rolls-Royce US 355 FP azimuth thrusters and three bow thrusters, ensuring smooth navigation through the challenging offshore environments. Slayed.
ALSO IT HAS STROKNNGG SPECS. FOR EXAMPLE: Its crane has a CRAZY capacity of 1,000 tonnes at 25 meters radius, making it capable of lifting and installing wind turbines with ease. Additionally, the ship features two auxiliary cranes, with capacities of 160 tonnes at 70 meters radius and 50 tonnes at 25 meters radius RESPECTIVELY……. It can operate in water depths of up to 40 meters. LIKE GIRL. There’s a reason why these bad girls install wind turbines. Built different. Quite literally. But still. Yeah. Thats the ship. Cheers.
Tumblr media
t.......this???
that's awesome and all but i can't help but wonder who sent this. who has this much in-depth knowledge about ships. it does have an interesting shape, i wonder what those pillar things (don't know what they're called) are supposed to be for ...

Beer and Clothing in the Occident
This post is a reference guide to the Occident, and a follow-up to a couple of previous actions. Much of it applies also to the colonies around the Pearl Sea.
It has been about 500 years since the founding of Azimuth and the beginning of the Sun-Divers as a race, from which events they number the years; the Prophetic Twins, 23 when the calendar was revealed, began it in Year -84. The 364-day solar year is perfectly harmonious with the 13 lunar months (28 days each).
Geography
The realms of civilisation in the Occident are:
The elevated but low-relief plateau of the West. Dominated by savanna, with tropical forests in river valleys and along the coast, and ruled by a crab-bucket of tribal oligarchies.
The relatively cool mountain highlands that run down the continent north/south. The mountains are covered in terrace-farms, the volcanic terrain being well-suited to wet rice cultivation. Cloud-forests, vertical archipelagoes.
The coastal hills of the east, dominated by city-states and little kingdoms. Cities tend to be built in the hills, with adjunct ports on the coast.
The seasonal northern peninsula and islands. Dry forests, more city-states.
The forested, swampy northeastern lowlands support support large (but disorganized) populations of Night-Singers, who generally live as swidden farmers or sedentary/semi-nomadic hunter-gatherers. They also practice shellfish aquaculture on bamboo frames.
The hills around the Red Lake and Azimuth, which mix traits of the highlands and plateau.
Tumblr media
[Americas for scale and latitude.]
The climate of the Occident is not amenable to horses, though there are llamas in the mountains. In the plains, chariots are sometimes drawn by robust, omnivorous avians—mvao—which somewhat resemble secretary-birds.
Social Structure and Customs
The basic structuring unit of Sun-Diver society is the clan. The “Great Clans” are derived from the 364 pairings of the 728 [yes, this is a retcon] original Sun-Divers who descended from the Flowering Tree. (Not, of course, that everyone agrees on the names and identities of those individuals, or who is descended from whom, or whose clan-day is what. A number of competing systems exist.)
Little Clans, of which there are thousands, descend from the Great ones; they are exogamous (in some places, you must marry outside your Little Clan and within your Great Clan). Descent is generally patrilineal, with some regional variation. The human minority organizes itself along similar lines.
There is a simple four-part caste system, with noble clans, common clans, outsiders, and slaves. Outsiders, mostly night-singers, immigrants, and freedmen, do not share in the community of clans (though they can still attain high status), and slaves are alienated from it. Slavery is inflicted on prisoners of war, or as punishment for a crime or debt; legal details vary. It may be transmitted between reincarnations, but not to children. 20% of Sun-Divers belong to noble clans, and not all are de facto wealthy.
The relationship between oneself and one’s previous incarnations is not quite self-identity, but not quite parent-child.
Outside the Night-Singer heartland, the population ratio of Sun-Divers/Humans/Night-Singers is something like 70/15/15, with higher human populations in the north and the colonies (70/20/10 or similar).
Villages have headmen, typically elder (older and more-reincarnated) members of a locally-important noble clan.
Dwellings are long houses, normally raised and thatched, and arranged around a central crèche housing eggs and chrysalises. Bamboo is an important material in craft and building.
A terrible and notorious crime among them is to incise the chrysalis and drink the contents.
Clothing tends to be cotton, adorned by the nobles with dye and feathers. It also tends to be sparse, outside the high elevations. Long strings of glass beads or pearls are much prized.
Sun-Divers and Humans Classic in a given area speak mutually intelligible languages, despite the various alterations applied in Sun-Diver speech.
Warfare is a primarily male activity, though all members of a clan are armed and expected to fight to the death in defence of a crèche.
In this era, battle is conducted by masses of archers armed with bamboo longbows, bolstered by small corps of warriors armed as close fighters, along with elephants and mvao-chariots.
Food and Agriculture
Their staple foods are, necessarily, liquid, and thicker dishes are somewhat more difficult to consume (thickness, sugar, and alcohol content assume a place similar to capsaicin in their cuisine). As in all poor agrarian societies, consumption centers on fairly simple preparations of staple crops. The prototypical dish is a thin broth of grain or sugarcane, possibly with spices, salt, other minerals, or fermented material added before consumption. The other prototypical dish is beer.
They are lactose tolerant, and dairy products are extremely popular. They have a startling tolerance for sugar and alcohol, and fermentation features heavily. The aforementioned beer is common, as are sago wine and arrack. The diet is supplemented with certain minerals and mineral-rich plants (these being preferred to mud and dung, except in famine conditions). Meat is occasionally present, in the form of blood or via fermentation, broths, and purees, but plant proteins predominate. They have an inordinate fondness for tea.
Nectar and fruit juice are not plentiful enough to be staples, but their market gardens feature strains of flowers whose yield of nectar is several times better than can be found in the wild, and floriculture is much more prominent than in baseline human societies. Honey is also a popular delicacy, and the honeyguide revered.
Religion
Their literary centrepiece is The Course of the Sun, a semi-coherent corpus of texts revolving around the deeds and sayings of the Prophetic Twins, the events and conflicts of their progress to the west, didactic dialogues between gods and mortals, and various primeval and primordial human and divine conflicts.
Sky-gods with obvious commonalities and cognate names rule most of the continent’s religious systems. The Implacable Celebrants are the primary religious institution, loosely united by occasional regional gatherings, loyalty to Azimuth, and a shared self-understanding. Other major and minor gods are integrated into several coherent (and increasingly elaborate) cosmic schemas.
The peculiar lifecycle of the sun-divers generates religious innovations. Viz:
The Sky, bright-eyed, rainbow-haloed, the Changer of Days, is minister to the chrysalis and the soul-in-dissolution. He is depicted as male or epicene. His temples tend to be open to the sky. In their simplest form, they are round, walled courtyard-sanctuaries with some holy plant, idol, or other cult object bleaching in the sun; greater ones feature concentric ring-enclosures of richly-painted stone colonnades and gardens, each occulted from the last.
Thousand Wombs, Worm-Mother, patron of the vermiform, is interpreted as a protector of children. She is popular with midwives and in folk magic; furthermore, in the elaborated cosmic systems of the temple-schools, she embodies the "receptive principle", associated with children, fertility, and the retention of knowledge. She is invoked to sanctify oaths and marriages, but is always reticent to release her gifts.
And, should the eyes tire of colors, or the heart of glory, there are the obeisances of the Last God—appeased lest he look with too much jealousy on those souls whose sunward flight rescues them from his ultimate domain. Those soon to enter the chrysalis burn resins and sing hymns, and one day a year is set aside in Azimuth to avert his wrath: the public buildings sweat in garments of white linen, all work stops, the citizenry take cover in their homes, and the gaze of the Oracles from the Arboretum’s pinnacle bleaches every flower with the pallor of bone and chalk.
[Pretty much all the gods had cults in the original batch from out East, thought that was in the era of Velarie’s dormancy. These are just noted as salient Sun-Diver specific things.]

The old S-125 air defense system is in service with the Odesa anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Southern Air Command. Lev, the commander of the S-125 launch battery, provides insight into its operation.
"The complex is not mobile and not automated; it was developed back in the 60s. We don't have the luxury of working in automatic mode, as in modern Western complexes. We have to set the azimuths every time, monitor the angular coordinates of the targets, control the antenna settings... The algorithm for shooting down enemy targets is multi-stage and not at all simple. And you also need to always check the rockets for serviceability, because most of them are from the 70s and 80s," says Lev.
A separate challenge is the constant change of positions. The complex is stationary, so moving it from place to place is another complicated task. Often, something goes wrong due to the age of the air defense system.
Despite these challenges, they "debuted" by destroying a "Kalibr" missile and have since successfully intercepted around fifty enemy missiles and drones of various types.

Meters, and we should be looking between azimuth 10° and 70°, remember that I'm on a hill, use the nearby hospital at azimuth 40° as a reference point.
Hey uh, can you read me the range on that bigot over there?
in what units?

1.) 70' show prompt dialogue
Escell: Son, What do you plan to do after you graduate?
Felix: I don't know. Drop out.
Escell: Job?
Felix: Dead end.
Escell: Relationship's?
Felix: None of your DAMN business.
Escell turns his attention to MC, Rime, and Scylla.
Escell: What about you three? School? Job? Relationship's?
Rime, MC, and Scylla: Graduate and move out. Already started a resume.
Rime and MC: And felix is tolerable….most of the time.
Scylla: You'll be the last to know when I'm in a relationship. Fe is okay.
Escell: Florian feed these three. Felix get out.
2.) Pinterest prompt.
MC petting sage who lays on their lap purring softly. Tulsi walks in. Blinks slowly.
Tulsi: Aren't you allergic to Cats?
MC petting sage slowly than before: Maybe. Possibly.
3.) Tbbt dialogue prompt.
Felix and Mc reading on the couch. MC lays their head on his shoulder.
Felix to MC: This is nice sitting here with you. Like we're an old married couple.
MC: Would be nice if there was tea and crumpets.
Felix teases: A good apprentice would make a batch for the two of us to share.
MC rolls their eyes: A good teacher would do it themselves. Plus we ran out of ingredients.
Felix raises an eyebrow at MC: You would think an apprentice would be a dear and go out to buy more.
MC flipping a page: I want a divorce.
Felix: Fine. On your way to get the divorce papers…..be a dear and buy tea and stones.
4.) Pinterest prompt and HIMYM dialogue prompt.
Elowen staring at Tulsi intensely.
Tulsi staring at Elowen absentmindedly: What are we doing right now?
Elowen: Don't know what your doing. I'm trying to send a message to you via telepathic.
Tulsi: Why?What message?
Elowen blinks.
Elowen slamming her fist on the table: Son of Gun! I was trying to tell you are exceptional. Before MC and the drunk idiot do it first.
Tulsi and Elwoen look over to Sage sleeping on MC' shoulder. MC smirks at them.
Sage wakes up suddenly: Thanks babe. Your ass is pretty too.
MC: Anytime, pumpkin. *scratches his ears*
Elowen slams head into background screaming. Tulsi still clueless.
5.) Pinterest prompt.
Azimuth and Saaros walk in silence.
More silence.
Triple silence.
Saaros sighing out loud: Okay! You win! I'll buy you a snack! Happy?
Azimuth: I do not want a SNACK. As Anisa and MC said before….I AM A LEGIT SNACK!
6.)Pinterest dialogue prompt.
MC to Scylla sipping wine: Scylla your clothes would look promising on Anisa floor.
Anisa shocked at MC: Are you flirting in my stead, MC?
MC to Scylla and Anisa: Technically, talking to both of you.
7.) Just two idiots being themselves.
Rime and Felix arguing with each other.
MC: What's the problem?
Rime shouting: MC, Tell him I'm right!!
Felix boasters: No, I'm right. MC, I'm the one you should agree with!!
MC holding up a hand: Right about what, exactly?
Rime and Felix still, to look at each other.
The two chaotic boys: We forgot.
MC smacking their head: Why are you two like this everyday.

Regarding Natal Astrology and the 15 Star Signs - Why 15 is more accurate than 12
Tumblr media
You are called not to become similar to the star sign description, but to overcome it. Just as each “heaven” or planetary sphere has challenges that need to be overcome, similarly you must face your zodiac challenge, in other words to overcome the limitations imposed according to the star sign in which you were born, using the ascendant as a ladder for this reason.
The natal star signs are defined through most certainly Gaian (of the Earth) influences due to seasonality. Tropical Zodiac System examples may be useful for defining a typology of characters, but they are lacking any grounding in logic due to the well-known phenomenon of precession of equinoxes (and so moving of zodiac star signs, lunar mansions etc as a result) which the Sidereal Zodiac System would support.
Therefore the so-called star signs have nothing to do with reality due to the three factors:
The precession of the equinoxes/ signs changes in fact the actual sign – in being the adjacent one position backwards.
The Equal House System (for all signs to occupy 30ο ) is totally arbitrary since the constellations are in fact unequal.
The constellations passing through the ecliptic are 13, not 12 (they tend to forget Ophiuchus).
Therefore whatever “truth” there is in natal astrology has mostly to do with matters on Earth, and not the skies.
However, if we intend to use the star signs for magick (any type, including talismans) we should take account of the sidereal system, astronomically defining the signs and not astrologically. So this is about constellations, not star signs. Even this is problematic of course, because the so-called constellations visible to the eye not only alter their shapes in the passing of millennia, but also arbitrarily each civilization connects with lines totally unrelated and irrelevant to each other stars. Also, some civilizations take into account more and some less stars.
The fact that they are unrelated is clearly shown when considering that the visual image we have for a constellation is its “projection” onto a plane (flat surface), as if all its stars belong to that plane. However the truth is that they are totally unrelated to one another, despite being connected for easy identification by the eye. For the sake of convenience, we tend to forget that the stars vary so much with regards to distance, that each “constellation” is in fact a totally arbitrary representation that lacks any kernel of objective truth. So it is wiser to take into account individual stars and not constellations when intending to use them in our magickal practice. Some of them can be useful indeed.
It is well known that each planet has its own planetary spirit which Watches over it, so each sun/star has a powerful solar Intelligence which also watches over it. Since stars are suns, we should approach their star spirits; in order to avoid confusion with the so-called “astral space” we will mention these entities as solar spirits, also known as Stellar Intelligences (SI).
It is also of great importance to see what is on the Zenith in the sky at the hour of birth (or in another important magickal work). We don’t take into account the astrological MS but what astronomically is on the Zenith on Azimuth. This can be found using an astronomy program (there are some free ones on the net which are just as good) and it is important. For example I located 26 constellations apparently passing over the sky through the Azimuth disc 70-75ο where I reside. Their hours change in the year bit by bit, so while these are very particular, they do not reach zenith each hour each day and over the same place.
Nevertheless, if you are certain to use some type of Zodiac system, let it be with Unequal Houses, and of 15 “signs”. These are the 13 already mentioned and also Orion and Cetus which interject only barely in the ecliptic. One may also wish to include Lunar Mansions in their system. It is of great interest to note the governors of the natal days, and this can be done using the Egyptian netjeru (deities), Angelic systems, etc. and can also be included to add even more precise guidance.
Circumpolar Constellations do not rise and do not set. Remember them because they are important. In the Northern Hemisphere, the main ones are six: Cepheus, Cassiopeia, Draco, Camelopardalis, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Take into account that depending on where you live, there can be more additions to the list, but also some changes too. This can easily be found online. Refrain from seeing them as animals or using specific mythological context, regardless how tempting it might be, to avoid being deceived. Focus on their main stars and what these do and how they matter for each hemisphere, if they are used as reference points.
Try to avoid believing as astrologically important whatever is unseen by the naked eye. Astrological systems that take into account distant objects too far away are lacking any sense. From a metaphysical standpoint, yes, we are connected to everything and everything is connected to us. Some very subtle influence may indeed exist. If, however, we think all the things we come in contact with, we should realize that these are all that we see and all that we sense with one or more of our senses. I even include intuition or extrasensory perception in this…
For occult use in natal astrology we should take into account the ancient celestial spheres and we should forget Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and all the small planetoids. With regards to actual influences on our daily lives and not during some delicate magickal experiment or working, we are not influenced by anything apart from the Sun and the Moon. The Sun is the defining factor and we should be interested as to which stars or planets the sun appears to “pass through” (Ascendant, conjunction with planets etc). The Moon exerts a significant gravitational pull upon us; one witnesses this through the tides. Since we are made up from 70% water, it is reasonable to assume we are affected enough as to the fluid micro-pressures in our brain systems inside our skull, and other parts of the body in general. The closer to earth its orbit brings it, the more we are affected. Also its luminosity seems to exert some influence upon us, which is why the full moon and the eclipses affect us so.
Resuming:
Specific stars, not star signs: the brightest / most visible to the eye
Sun, Moon are the most significant celestial bodies. Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn are of secondary importance. Celestial spheres which have symbolic meaning and major significance on the Tree of Life are not to be mixed with the gravitational and other planetary influences.
Azimuth rather than classic astrology MS.
Of secondary importance and only for specialized workings (for example manufacturing a talisman or doing a ritual that demands very specific things) are the Lunar Mansions and the Unequal House of the 15 “signs”. In general these can be ignored for most daily workings. The same goes for the detailed Planetary Hours’ tabulations that give advice as to what types of work/tasks are well-suited in that planetary hour of the day and night.
Natal governors, yes, within reason. Take into account their aspects and influence but also their challenges.
In conclusion,
Experiment with the 15 signs of the Zodiac and the sign you are given from this more accurate chart. It may likely suit your energy/temperament better and perhaps even show things you must overcome. Additionally, this sign may fit in with your Egyptian and Celtic signs better than the “original” sign from the 12 Zodiacs Natal Chart. Though it is best to keep in mind that the descriptions of the Zodiac signs are based on typical divination meant for entertainment rather than an actual mystical science. Take the descriptions with a pinch of salt and do not use the Zodiac to judge others.

We have an assignment to do a graphic novel type thing based off either a pre-existing story or one we make up, so I was doing a height comparison of three of my characters.
:)
Nicole, Clover, and Azzy (Left to right).  Three of my babies that I have been working on since the end of middle school. (I have written and re-written their story so many times. I want to make it a book once I get it all worked out if I can.) Out of all of them, Azzy’s changed the most from his original design. I’m so happy about it, though. He’s better this way.

The Sun is Rising, and I Am Flying West by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: An airplane window view looking to the east-northeast while on an American Airlines flight from Austin to Phoenix Most of the flight was in the early morning hours before the sun had risen, but I had been keeping a watchful eye for any brightness to indicate a sunrise. Finally, while flying over Arizona, I caught this setting and angled my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera to capture it. The composition of the image was somewhat limited, given the location of the sun, the direction of the flight, and minimizing any framing from the window edges. But I was able to work with the airplane wing in getting a look across it to the rising sun. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation in DxO PhotoLab 8. I then exported a TIFF image to Nik Color Efex Pro 7 where I added a Polarization and Pro Contrast filter for that last effect on the image captured.

Quick question, how would Azimuth react to the Nun if it haunted Audrey intending to take her soul that was willingly given to Azimuth in the first place? Would he get territorial?talk rationally or just frickin wreck the Nun for even latching onto Audrey?
Audrey made a contract with Azimuth so her soul is under his protection until her 70 year term is up, at which point her soul becomes his property. In other words Audrey basically belongs to Azimuth and is off limits to other demons. I think he’d try to scare them off at first, and if they kept trying he’d utterly destroy them.

Missing Sand Mountain Fire Lookout today. And looking forward to spending more time on the mountaintop with my dad this summer! . This is an Osbourne Fire Finder, used to find azimuths and vertical angle when spotting fires. Last summer, my dad had me practice with it on all the major points of interest around the lookout. The azimuth is then converted to a legal bearing (based on forestry maps), which is called in to the McKenzie River Ranger District and Eugene Dispatch when reporting a fire. We also report weather readings and visibility throughout the day. . As part of the Sand Mountain Society (sandmountain.org), my brother completed a historic restoration of Sand Mountain’s lookout in 1989, by relocating and renovating a 1930s structure originally located on Whisky Peak. My dad was a lookout on the original tower in the 60s/70s, and now volunteers his time as part of the team which continues to man the lookout today. 💕 . #sandmountain #oregon #firelookout #pnw (at Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv9pbbjHHhT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=teaks4344u5i

My few keepers. I'm sorry these aren't as good as other moon photos that I've shared, but it got so dark that my cell phone couldn't even pick up the target reticle, let alone the moon. Still, these are pretty good for an 80-year old optical instrument in original condition. It's always a privilege to lug all 85 pounds of it out and set it up in the pitch dark to do something fun with it. However, I guess it's time I treat myself to a real camera 😁 It was about 70 when I went to bed last night - it was 45 and breezy this morning. It was *brisk* to say the least, but boy, was it worth it! Have a great and wonderful day, everyone! 🇺🇲🇺🇲 ** Please Like & Follow "Sandy Hook History" on Facebook & Instagram for more amazing maritime and military histories of the Garden State and New York Harbor as well as a review of the 80th Anniversary of the Battle Of The Atlantic and World War 2** 🇺🇲🇺🇲 Photos: (c) Tom, Sandy Hook History, November 8th, 1942 #visitmonmouth #newjerseybuzz #thejournalnj #locallivingnj #journeythroughjersey #onlyinnewjersey #njspots #centraljerseyexists #discovernj #yesnj #newjerseyhistory #newjerseyforyou #sandyhookbeach #sandyhooknj #sandyhookhistory #forthancockhistory #forthancock #battleoftheatlantic #lunareclipse #bloodmoon #bloodmoon2022 #azimuthinstruments #azimuth #vintagestem #vintageastronomy #vintagetechnology #vintagesteam #oldtelescope #vintagetelescope #riseandgrind (at Fort Hancock, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CksratGgemo/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Different eyepieces in starry night pro

DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO PRO
DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO SOFTWARE
DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO PLUS
DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO PLUS
WHY WE LIKE IT: Convenient and easy to set up, the TELMU comes with all you need to start amateur astronomy or get a closer look at the moon, plus the included phone adapter makes it easy to take and share photos of the moon’s features. We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock
DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO PRO
While it lacks the fine-tuning adjustments like slow motion azimuth and altitude controls and the high magnification as found on the Meade Star Pro (our #3 pick) the ECOO 70mm provides a great intro to refracting telescopes. It also makes a great gift and is among the most kid-friendly telescopes on our list, since it requires no tools for set up and is easy to point. Its narrow-is 70mm aperture and lower magnification might even be an advantage for such activities. This 18” telescope also comes with a carrying bag so it’s extra portable, making it even more useful for daytime terrestrial activities like bird-watching in the fields. The ECOO 70mm is a great starter telescope since it includes many of the features of the bigger, more expensive single refractors on our list while coming in a bargain friendly price point and weighing only about 4 pounds. No fine-tuning azimuth or altitude controls. At 70x360mm, doesn’t offer the magnification that larger single refractors do.It may not be as bright or magnify as much as some higher end astronomy telescopes, but its shorter focal length also makes the MaxUSee more useful for terrestrial viewing activities like bird watching or whale watching. It weighs just over five pounds and comes with a backpack so it’s easy to pack up and take with you. The MaxUSee 400 x 70 is also a great travel telescope. It also comes with an adjustable universal smartphone adapter, great for taking and sharing pictures of the images seen through the telescope. A relative bargain, it includes advanced features like a diagonal prism so that the image you see appears right-side-up, a Barlow lens for increasing the eyepiece magnification, and a spotting scope. The MaxUSee 400 x 70mm telescope is a great starter scope for young space enthusiasts. Not as bright as telescopes with a larger aperture such as the 102-mm Meade Star Pro (our #3 pick).Less magnification than most models on our list.Speaking of hunt, the best carabiner is quite handy for those outdoor hunts. Also, check out the Meade Instruments Infinity 102mm Refracting Telescope which has the same wide telescope aperture and an f/5.9 focal ratio, which will come in handy for your next celestial object hunt. It also comes with a very handy smartphone adapter, letting you take pictures with your iPhone or other smartphones through the eyepiece.
DIFFERENT EYEPIECES IN STARRY NIGHT PRO SOFTWARE
This Meade refracting telescope comes with Auto Star Suite Astronomer Edition software on DVD. It comes with a specially designed tripod that features two high precision, slow motion cable controls for azimuth and altitude, so you can find the spot you want to look at in the night sky. It’s suitable for viewing nebulae, constellations, planets and the rings of Saturn. It also includes three different eyepieces with low, medium and high magnification as well as a Barlow lens. The 660 x 102mm Meade Star Pro refracting telescope features high quality optics with fully coated glass and offers the brightest view of any of the refracting telescopes on our list.
DVD-based software not as convenient as the Starry night app of the Celestron (our #2 pick ).
Tripod takes a little longer to set up than that of the Gskyer.
Larger and heavier, at 20 lbs than most on our list.
#3 Meade 234004 Star Pro Refracting Telescope If you work up a sweat in the process, the best coolling towel will come in handy. While it is designed with students of astronomy and beginning stargazers in mind, the Celestron also makes a great back-up instrument for more experienced hobbyists. The slimmer design also makes it more portable, and the very highly rated Starry Night software makes it easier to make sense of what you’re looking at among the stars. While it is not as bright as some other refracting telescopes out there, such as the Gskyer (our top pick) or the Meade Star Pro (our #3 choice,) this Celestron 900 x70mm telescope is a relative bargain at less than half the cost of those wider aperture telescopes.
No Barlow lens for extra magnification is includedĪ great introduction to stargazing, this Celestron telescope benefits from a long focal length and includes some useful features such as a finder scope, tripod with fine azimuth and altitude control and it even comes with educational Starry Night software.
Steel tripod heavier and bulkier than the Gskyer’s aluminum tripod.
