Some People Dream in Abstract (Great Smoky Mountains National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Some People Dream in Abstract Thoughts Like an Expressionist's Painting While other are bizarre, almost seemingly surreal Mine have been both, and sometimes in red But right now, I only dream wonderment for what stands in front Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in the Cades Cove area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This was at a roadside pullout along the main park road with a view looking to the north-northwest to a group of black bears (momma bear and three cubs) who happened to be crossing this asphalt road. I captured quite a few images at this location, but this is one of the few that I really liked of the group because the momma bear happened to be looking in my general direction while her cub continued on.

A visionary's road to the future still stands in south central Washington

Nothing is happening. He's nowhere. And yet there's so much traffic, people and vessels moving. Distant shouting and discussions, communicating about logistics, but there's no need for him there. So he just stares out in silence and feels the cold wind. The air is choked with the stench of diesel every day and yet sea birds fly through that filth still.

Even Bears Have to Obey the Posted Speed Limit! (Blue Ridge Parkway) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The setting is looking to the south with a black bear that was meandering down the road. I captured a few images as it moved back-and-forth from one side to the other. This one image I liked most out of the collection as it had the bear seemingly looking at the posted speed limit sign.

Wandering off the Road to Find Wonders Around by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: At a roadside pullout along the main park road not far from the southern entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The view is looking to the northwest with Emerald Lake seemingly hidden amongst the ridges and peaks in this part of the national park. My thought in composing this image had been to take advantage of the higher ground I was looking from and angle my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera slightly downward, bringing the horizon higher into the image. I felt that would help with more of a sense of grandeur in the ridges and peaks around me as well as minimizing what I felt was the negative space of the blue skies above.

Road. Road into the autumn. Day after day, we are going to some place. We move to some place. And autumn is going on. Autumn is going more and more strong with every day. And, even, everything, it is, already, moves to winter. 

And, we are moving too, to some place. Planets in space are moving.  All galaxies are moving to some point. To a massive super cluster. And, here we have autumn. Road. New theme. It is road. Road - long road.

Asphalt with autumn leaves. I get a lucky shot, lucky frame, as I can say. It is going good for computer game. First frame. Asphalt, road, leaves. Yellow leaves. For example, for racing game.

Autumn asphalt after little raining. Saying more correct, after little snowfall. It is rather cold. And we are going into autumn. Or, even more, already, in winter.  It is hard to say where we are going. And this is such a theme. To look, to think. Road. Movement. Everything is a movement. Funny shot about autumn road.

City is heavy connected with idea of roads. Some interesting roads. We walk them. Everyday. Or rare. Random or casual.

Autumn little road. After snow. With little leaves.
