How would the demon kings + Rin react to the descendant of a very powerful demon ending up being their crush?

Like... This demon used to work with Lucifer and Samael before he decided to stay in Assiah and start a life.

That was centuries ago by now, though, and now a half demon appears at True Cross with the powers of that demon.

This was harder than I thought, knowing little to nothing about half of them it got tricky but I hope you like it. Beelzebub's was so rushed, sorry if doesn't liveup to your expectations and if it took me this long to post it.

Lucifer's HC

He can feel it, is not that hard to miss it

He asks Renzo to take you too but the boy fails (as if you would let him)

If you don't accept his proposal to join his ranks he would fell bitter about it, a demon first and now you? This can't happen to him

But if that makes you happy, then, so lets be it

If they do, Lucifer will deal with them immediately

Also because the other demon kings, mostly Iblis, would tease him a lot

He is very composed at all times, not when other points out his feelings because he has to analyze them first

But is not as easy as he thinks it was going to be

I think some people might find out from books, the internet, etc even before they become exorcists. They do publish demon field guides that you can find at regular libraries, and Mephisto seems like the type to mention it in online interviews. Rin was the only one who didn't know.

How long has he had his current body?

About 200 years.

Which media from Assiah has had the greatest impact on him?

I imagine he would have been shocked the first time he saw a cinematograph.

Mephisto really likes all sorts of entertainment; has he ever tried making something himself?

Demons in general (not just Mephisto) tend to be bad at creative pursuits, though there are exceptions. Mephisto has a certain respect for human creativity.

Why is he so fond of Beelzebub?

Beelzebub just kind of struck a chord with him. Meanwhile, Beelzebub also likes being spoiled by Mephisto.

He's actually one of the world's top businessmen and investors. His total assets are probably over one trillion yen [T/N: Jesus f*ck][T/N: that's about US$6.7 billion]

Mephisto is a character who can solve just about anything; does that make him hard to write? Honestly, he's super easy to deploy. Mephisto has the plot in the palm of his hand and can fix stuff behind the scenes; he's the one pulling the strings. For adaptations and spinoffs, I just say "if you need to fill in a plot hole, make it Mephisto's fault" (laughs). But I do think it's dangerous to overdo it.

He even took on a sort of narrator role in chapter 44, didn't he? Around Volume 10, I was trying to treat each chapter like its own self-contained oneshot. Mephisto didn't even feel out of place as an omniscient narrator for one chapter, and for me that really drove home what a convenient character he is. Though I'm always wondering when and how to show Mephisto's own serious motives and inner thoughts, since he does fall into that eternal comic narrator role.

He can suddenly turn terrifying just when you were thinking he was comical. Hidden depths. Fundamentally he's on the humans' side, and he's often in charge of comic relief, but I do want to show his demonic side too. Same with the familiars; I want to portray the demons as something humans are afraid of.

still! thinking about the noctis au, as one does.

noctis' official story is that he's a first generation nephilim with an unknown demonic parent that was sheltered by asylum. because he had special circumstances, he wasn't raised with the other orphans. he has no special powers, but he's extremely strong and has strong regenerative abilities.

noctis' unofficial story is that he's a misfit azazel clone, and as a result was separated from the rest of the test subjects to be raised as an exorcist by a unknown mentor whose name was lost in the chaos of the blue night.

(both versions list him as rin and yukio's biological father. how do you hide the children of satan? easy. claim they're the children of a nephilim instead. suddenly things like rin's initial hair color and his violent tendencies stand out less.)

noctis never finishes high school, ultimately- but shiro does help him study in order to obtain a GED. the compelling visual of shiro sitting across from a 20 year old noctis at the kitchen table, tutoring him for the test while 5 year old rin and yukio play with kuro.

noctis has a motorcycle license, but not a standard driver's license.

his horns grow out long and thin, making them nearly impossible to hide with regular methods, so mephisto gives him decorative cuffs to put on them that makes them invisible to people without a mashou.

he goes through like. six dozen different image changes. he cannot settle on a look. he grows out his hair and then cuts it off. he experiments with facial hair but always shaves it off in the end.

he definitely gets a few tattoos. love the idea that they're all designs he associates with his friends, as if he's getting his memories of them engraved on his body so he never forgets.

(shiemi's four leaf clovers are tattooed right over his heart. he gets a firebird for suguro, prayer beads for konekomaru, foxes for izumo and a design like yamantaka's eye for shima all entwined on his back. shura's white snakes and yukio's caduceus are tattooed on his arms, so he can never forget how hard he fought to save them, only to lose them in the end.)

noctis does NOT get any taller. he looks at rin bickering with yukio when the latter starts getting his growth spurt and declaring he'll catch up to and surpass him one day like. i've got some bad news, kid. we are fucking cursed.

this timeline's version of rin 100% has piercings lol- several on his ears, but also a pierced tongue. noctis is just like yeah go for it, and so he does.

rin cares a lot less about people who call him a demon this go around- after all, his dad's a half-demon and he's cool as hell! what he does care about, ironically, is people talking shit about noctis. and people talk shit about noctis a lot.

rin, when he and shiemi have kids years down the line just looking shiro dead in the eye and being like: and here's your great-grandpa!

(noctis is cracking up in the background- at least until rin smiles at him and introduces him as grandpa noctis.)

rin, yukio, tsukumo, and shura have been trying to get noctis and monaka together for years. as soon as the exwires learn of her existence they join in. they truly don't understand how noctis is not married yet.

(upon learning that noctis is a guilt-ridden rin from a bad future: ohhhh. yeah. that makes sense. but also he needs to cut that the fuck out. matchmaking time.)

once his life settles down a little, noctis does eventually poke his head into osceola's talismanic cooking workshops.

the Illuminati, ironically, have their eyes on noctis even without knowing his true identity- his unparalleled regenerative abilities are what catch their eye, but they don't attempt to recruit him because it's clear he's mephisto's creature.

Would Azazel agree with Section 13?

My vote is YES.

Okay this is some wild blue exorcist theory-time here. And if you haven't read the manga and don't want spoilers, turn away now. I'll have a few future snippets in here.

Azazel

We don't know the entire story behind Azazel, but Lightning alludes that he was on the side of humans and Assiah.

Yet, unlike the other kings, Azazel didn't choose to take on another human vessel and instead chose to crystallize and go back to Gehenna.

Lightning seems concerned that Azazel didn't willingly agree to have his DNA used in section 13. But at the same time, he honestly doesn't know. The old man used to be able to talk, but did he talk to Mephisto and make plans way back when? Or did he disagree and Mephisto harvested his biological material without his consent?

The King of Spirit would have known that section 13 would have been unsuccessful creating a vessel for Lucifer. Lucifer has no respect for weaker beings and surely would not have been able to cohabit with with a creature that was strong of Spirit. Especially with a human that had its own soul, dreams, thoughts and emotions. Lucifer rapes everything in Assiah for his own personal gain and kills humans out of spite when his own powers overpower him.

The secret for a demon king's survival in Assiah: collaboration not conquering. Balance is key.

In order for a demon king to acclimate and live in Assiah without suffering necrosis of the body. They need to have a perfect balance over their demonic power within a human vessel.

Mephisto has perfected this relationship. He is living proof that it can be done.

A demon king must learn to live with the spirit of its human host. This ensures a high rate of success. Mephisto isn't just Mephisto. He's Mephisto/Faust. Both of them coexist...I firmly believe it. It's the human side, Faust, gives Mephisto all the worldly feelings, experiences and emotions he craves, in return Mephisto shares his power and the secrets of the universe. (Which in hindsight is kinda cool.)

It's the human side of the relationship that keeps the demon in check and stops the demon from being irrational and destroying the world. That's why human/demon relationships are so important. A soul-mate is literally a "soul-mate." One is the guardian of the other.

Getting back to Azazel.

Azazel's clones were created in section 13. These clones were not meant for Lucifer. Lucifer is beyond help because he's stubborn and hates Assiah and humans.

To answer Lightning's question: Did Azazel agree? Was he still on the side of humans?

Maybe Azazel and Mephisto knew more than they were letting on. Lucifer was a major danger to the earth and they couldn't stop him. They needed a weapon bigger than Lucifer.

They needed Satan. And yeah, it was a hell of a risk.

They needed more cowbell to control big, evil, older brother. In order for Satan to exist in Assiah, they needed a superhuman that was incredibly strong in both body and Spirit.

They got Shiro Fujimoto from the section 13 experiments. He was Satan's soulmate. He was the success they desperately needed.

That's why Mephisto was so damn excited about Shiro. He could see the future right before his eyes. Shiro would someday become the ultimate power alongside Satan. (and in other theories...I firmly believe that Shiro will return and join with Satan Because they are perfectly matched.)

It's not a perfect situation, because Satan and Shiro don't exactly get along. But they both fell in love with the same woman and share the same sons. Have the same inappropriate sense of humour. It would work, eventually.

But why were Rin and Yukio born?

Leverage.

Because Shiro is such a stubborn prick the boys were the super weapons Mephisto needed to teach Shiro how to love, experience empathy, loss and life. To teach Shiro to stop hating demons. He made Shiro change demon diapers. Mephisto knows enough about love and feelings to see how powerful it is, and how it will make Shiro into a stronger man. (Hence why he's using the same tactic on Shura)

The boys were the superweapons to melt Shiro's heart. It's Shiro's love of Rin and Yukio that will someday beckon him to take on Satan as a life partner.

There is no way that Shiro would ever let Satan use Rin and Yukio for anything nefarious. There is no way that Shiro would die leaving Rin and Yukio vulnerable. He had to know the future. He had the Kamakushi key, after all.

Rin in the latest anime tells us how it all works. Rin is, by definition is perfect. He is both demon and human in one. Rin doesn't need to control a stranger, to coexist. He needs to only control himself. And he's well on the way to success.

Beelzebub (King of Insects):

"Samael? Eh, he's alright, I guess. Too strict with table manners, though. Who cares if I put my feet on the table? It's not like the table has feelings. But you know what? I'll give him credit. He likes barbecue. That makes him relatable. Nothing brings demons together like a nice smoked brisket."

Amaimon (King of Earth):

"Samael's such a buzzkill. I knock down one or two manors—big deal! It's just a little property damage. The humans rebuild fast anyway. And his punishments? Ugh. Like, he sent me to time-out for 50 years because I ate his tropical garden. What's the point of being a Demon King if I can't have fun?"

Astaroth (King of Rot):

"Samael? Don't get me started. He's too obsessed with cleanliness. Every time I visit, he sprays disinfectant everywhere, like I'm the problem. The audacity! And then he gives me that look, like I'm some kind of health code violation. I'm the King of Rot! Being gross is part of my job!"

Egyn (King of Water):

"Oh, Samael? He's... he's a good brother. Kind, in his way. It's just... well, it's sad he's not on our side. I think if we could all work together, things would be better. But he's just... always so far away. Emotionally, I mean."

Iblis (King of Fire):

"Samael is the WORST. Every time I visit one of his mansions, he deliberately sets the lighting and mirrors so I look awful. He knows my angles, and he chooses not to use them. It's unforgivable. And unlike Egyn, he's not even a little bit cute!"

He chuckles, twirling his umbrella.

"And Lucifer? My dear, melodramatic older brother. Always whining about being misunderstood. But between you and me..."—he leans in conspiratorially—"if I played the diva-like him, the world wouldn't be destroyed. It'd be rebranded with style."

He leans back, tipping his hat with a wink. "Next question?"

I think at this point, it is clear that the system of picking the next Paladin is rigged, but I want to know if you still think it’s possible for Rin to become the Paladin at one point?

In terms of skill, all five meisters are necessary (the Tamer one always confused me, because it’s a rare talent to have), and I assume a lot of dedication, training, and intelligence. I don’t like the anime-filler ending, but I do see Yukio as a better candidate (though not at the age of 16 and with better mental health).

Additionally, I think Rin could be picked for his sheer strength and firepower for the position of Paladin, which I think is a similar situation for Angel (they both seem to be lacking in the intelligence department, with Angel having Lighting do the thinking for him).

Shiro Fujimoto is a canon Paladin with the widest range of skills practically shown in the series. Certainly the only one so far who has favored a gun over a sword, and has actually used both at once when fighting a newborn Rin.

The system isn't rigged so much as entirely secretive. We don't even know how it happens to know if they're rigging a vote or if it's just which of the three Grigori + the Honorary Knight (Mephisto's position) can hoist their candidate to the position first.

The Paladin before Shirou was a man named Abel, and he called Mephisto 'father' as he was consumed by Satanic flames in the Blue Night, so it seems fair to say that being a clone/descendent of the Grigori + Honorary Knight gets you in the front running of being a Paladin, seeing as we have Abel=Son of Mephisto, Shirou=clone of Azazel, Angel = clone of Lucifer.

Which also is an entirely reasonable thing to require as it seems that the more demon blood you have, the easier time you have advancing in the ranks.

Quick side note on the tamer thing, and on all the meisters. All meisters have multiple subclasses. Tamers are just exorcists who work with/use demons in their exorcism work. They're not necessarily all summoning them. For instance, there's a subclass specifically for tamers who specialize in the demon farm work and in cross breeding. Personally, I'd love to get more details on that. Just like the doctor meister isn't necessarily about medicine, it can also be using poisons to your advantage. I imagine that the long list of Paladins has had a wide variety of which versions of the meisters they're bringing to the front.

I think that lineage and skill level aside, the real key to who is becoming Paladin depends on something else. There's not much to back this up other than the way we know Shirou was trapped, and how tied to Mephisto Abel seemed to be, and with how... tangled Angel is to Shemihaza and the Uzai (shudder), it seems to me that the Paladins also need to be somehow contracted/bound to one of the Grigori or Mephisto.

I think they have to have made a deal at some point that basically makes it where they have to be obedient to the Grigori/Mephisto (I think this specifically applies to Shemihaza more than Azazel or Armumahel as we've seen Shemihaza be the most active of the three Grigori.)

In my opinion, that knocks Yukio out. At least so far. He's been clever enough and careful enough with his words to not entangle himself in a deal/bargain/promise with any of the demon kings or Sol, at least that we've seen yet.

Rin on the other hand...

Rin hasn't always been so careful around a certain Demon King of Time and Space who has owned at least two of the last three Paladins.

I don't think Rin would qualify in a standard and fair test of all the Orders. He doesn't have the strategic mind or the understanding of demons to properly hold the role and there would be other more qualified candidates unless he has some pretty big personality changes towards learning those things.

However, as far as having to be the dog of someone and serve the Order, yeah. Of the twins, Rin is the one that would get himself in a deal, and I think he already has.

But yeah, the whole promotion to Paladin has been pretty secretive so far with Shirou giving us a glimpse of the ceremony, but not really of the criteria for why he was picked, other than that he made the mistake of agreeing to be Mephisto's dog if he succumbed to a demon.

I never thought of bringing together the DP and Blue Exorcist fandoms... but now I must plot on how to get them to mix...

Omg thank you! And the two worlds mesh strangely well. Demons have tails, Danny has a ghostly tail. In Blue Exorcist, ghosts are a kind of demon. There is a kingdom in Gehenna for each of the eight groups of demons, and the ghost zone is in the infinite realms, which is another dimension which sometimes overlaps into the human world, just like Gehenna. They could be the same.

And idk, maybe Pariah took over a small section, or even all of the spirit kingdom while Azazel was away. Then, the others quickly overthrew him when he proved to not be a good ruler

It would be really funny if Danny didn’t know about non ghost demons, or that ghosts were demons at all, then suddenly got thrust into another country where he can only understand one dude and his cat despite neither of them speaking English like him.

A New Dream

Pairing:  Claudio Serafino x Mishima!Devil!Reader 

Summary: A Continuation of - A Sun Is Born

Facing off against True Devil Kazuya in the Colosseum after the Iron Fist Tournament, the reader struggles in battle against their father, beaten and weakened by his newfound strength. But when the reader's new dream is in jeopardy, they do what it takes to protect it.

Warnings:  Some fighting, the reader goes full devil mode, but that's about it!

"You're a disappointment..."

Facing off against my father alongside Claudio, Victor, and some other fighters, just to be swatted at like flies, made me feel that my father's words may have been true.

It was already bad enough that he took Azazel's power from Zafina so quickly, and now, his proper devil form?

He was a force to be reckoned with, and I learned that firsthand, beaten and my face in the dirt of the Colosseum.

Tears swelled up in my eyes, full of pain and rage. I wanted to get up and keep fighting, but my body wouldn't let me pick myself up.

Those emotions had me so zoned out for a moment that I didn't realize what was going on until a blue ring suddenly appeared in the sky surrounding my father, and Claudio's voice filled me with hope like it always did.

"The restriction field is already in place!"

His abilities never ceased to amaze me. I looked downward to see him fully prepared to take down my father since he was still pinned.

"What is this now?"

The restriction field had my father chained, and my eyes widened with awe as I saw Claudio's eye change, the mark of Sirius Exorcists appearing on the side of his face, saying firmly as his blue aura began to form an arrow:

"Sink into the eternal darkness, joined only by the stain of your sins!"

The spear of Kephalos was a sight to behold, and I was positive that this was all over as Claudio called out while shooting the spear:

"Begone, evil star!"

In just a matter of moments, all my hope was shattered. I knew my father was strong, but I never expected him to break free from the chains and dodge the spear.

I needed to get up, but the fight against my father had taken such a tremendous toll on me. I kept pushing so hard to get up, but my body failed me by being so tense, all my limbs shaking as I was on all fours.

My heart had never pounded so hard as it did then; looking to see Claudio falling to his knees, summoning that spear must've taken a great deal of energy, my father's voice putting genuine fear into my heart:

"Pretty clever for a mere human."

His dark purple aura started circling into his chest; his target was Claudio.

It felt like time froze as Claudio seemed to have accepted this fate, but it was something I refused to accept. He was the light of my life, my new dream, and I wasn't letting anyone or anything take that away from me.

"Begone!" My father yelled at me, sending a fatal blast towards Claudio, catching everyone off guard when suddenly, a loud and piercing roar flew out of me.

I never liked it when such a thing happened, but my devil completely took over me, flying in front of Claudio, the laser between my eyes shooting out and clashing with my father's blast, yelling out of pure hatred towards him:

"You've made my life nothing but hell! I won't let you take the one good thing I have away from me!"

I'd never felt so numb before, and for a change, my devil consuming me had some good to it, as the power that came with my rage was enough to rival my father's.

Letting out another roar, my laser blasted straight through him, and at the same time, Claudio had my back as he always did, redirecting the spear, and it pierced my father's shoulder.

The effects of the spear must not have hit him yet, my father yelling down at me:

"You wouldn't have such a power without my blood, and you decide to throw it away over those pathetic humans!"

"The only one who is pathetic is you!" I screamed back, my laser powering up simultaneously, ready to land an even more devastating blow, but he noticed his wound, knowing it was time to retreat.

I tried to fire it off before he could fly away, but given my state and the fact that my mind was all over the place, I didn't hit him directly.

That only made me angrier, continuing to fire off my laser over and over, screaming out:

"Get back here, you bastard!"

My devil's power was more vital than ever. My whole body was so tense that it felt like I could implode from the inside out, and all I could think about was defeating my father till a familiar touch made all those bad things come to a halt, my mind clearing at the sweet tone that I adored:

"Amore..."

My beaming red eyes found Claudio, my heart stopping momentarily as he did something I'd never imagined anyone doing. Holding my wrist, he brought me into his arms, keeping me in a warm embrace.

I always thought this form was hideous, with its wings, horns, fangs, and piercing red eyes. I was nothing short of horror in my eyes but in his eyes? I was still the same old me.

My heart was beating in my head as he held me, and a wave of calmness crashed down over me. I felt my body truly weakened as my wings and horns retracted, starting to go back to normal.

At the same time, I clung onto his shirt, my knees shaking from being so weak, my eyes rolling to the back of my head, but I could sense how he was guiding me downward in his arms, whispering to me:

"I have you, amore. Relax, please..."

Finally, it felt like I could breathe again, taking slow, deep breaths and opening my eyes after a moment, seeing his relieved smile as they were back to their usual color, swelling up with tears as I tried to chuckle those tears away:

"An exorcist fighting alongside a devil...who would've seen that coming, heh..."

"You're no devil..." His eyes showed that he didn't expect me to do what I had done to such an extent, but he was grateful. His eyes glossed over as he caressed my cheek gently, whispering, "Thank you for saving my life..."

"There's no need to thank me," I assured him. It was hard to move, but I picked my arm up to take his hand, holding it as tightly as I could. Tears fell on my cheeks, and my voice cracked a little from the deep meaning in my words: "I was simply protecting my d-dream..."

"Your dream?"

I could tell that he was only looking for reassurance, knowing what I meant already as his eyes teared up more, my following words making one leak out:

"You're my dream, Claudio..."

Squeezing my hand tightly, he wrapped his free arm around me, bringing me to his chest. All the strong emotions took over me again. I clung to him as my arm wrapped around his neck, holding him as if I'd never get another chance to do so, all the tears that I tried to hold back streaming down my face.

"Nothing will ever ruin your dream," he whispered in my ear, fixing his head against mine to look into my eyes. He showed how he felt the same by rephrasing, "Our dream..."

"Nothing." I nodded gently, staring deeply into his heavenly blue eyes, feeling how my heart moved by something as simple as looking into someone's eyes.

He was the happiness that I had always dreamed of, and I didn't plan on ever letting that go, closing my eyes and pressed my lips against his softly, holding for as long as I could till I was breathless and didn't have the energy to keep my head up.

Since all our emotions were flowing out of us, I decided to tell him what my heart was telling me, showing that I even picked up on some Italian, barely able to keep my eyes open but solely fixed on his gaze:

"Ti amo, angelo mio..."

[I love you, my angel...]

The fight I had prior, along with my devil taking control of me, had drained me to my limit, but there was a smile on my face when I felt Claudio squeeze me once he heard my words; his warmth mixed with my exhaustion had me passing out.

That was fine by me. I knew that I was safe in his arms, and I got to fall asleep to his beautiful, sweet, and soft coo:

"Anch'io ti amo... davvero tanto."

[I love you too... so much.]
