THERE IS A RECORDING OF AS YOU LIKE IT (1996)
Breaking news!! Extra, extra, read all about it!!! You may have been pictures of David Tennant such as this one:
but upon trying to find a way to watch the production this is from, been told that there's no way to do so. And this is partially true: there is no copy of this floating around on the internet, and no DVDs have been released. BUT! Not all is lost! @raining-stars-somewhere-else and I have been investigating, and there is a recording of As You Like It (1996) housed in the archives of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. According to their website, there is a VHS tape and two DVDs (though one of them stops playing halfway through). There are no digital copies of available to the public, but you can go to their reading room for free and access their archives that way. Neither my fellow detective nor I have ever been, so we're not sure exactly how it works, but we believe that you can watch the archived video recordings so long as you're in-person. Unfortunately, we cannot get there ourselves, but we're sharing what we know in hopes that someone who reads this can do some on-the-ground reconnaissance. According to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust's website, the reading room is located "on Guild Street to the rear of the Shakespeare Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6QW" in England. If you find anything new, please let us know, and if you want to remain anonymous we can do that. Good luck everyone!!!

100 Days of Productivity [Day: 83] || 100 Jours de Productivité [Jour: 83]
this was my first year doing documentation for a company audit. I've never done this kind of stuff before but I'm exhausted. you don't really realize how hard back-tracking is when it's from before you started working there. that being said, everything went well, we've been cleared, & no one is getting fired or taken to court for fraud lol.
my sweet mum also sent me a care package & in it sent me some of my favourite bottled/canned coffee drinks. this made my cry so hard for some reason. though I love it here, I still struggle with missing home.
academic work:
-finish unit 1.2 - 1.4 of independent course -listen to podcasts in slow french -re-write course notes [focus on accents] -start comparison notes between different French varieties [ie. Cajun, Belgian, Canadian, Swiss etc.]
freelance work:
-make ivory paper -start putting together round-back book for binding -take books out of press & cut signatures for new ones
office work:
-enter payroll -start data sheet for last month's write-offs -edit spreadsheets -answer all emails
currently listening // Two Lives by MARION

Hi, family and friends,
I deeply appreciate your love and support for me and the rescue. I have updated our app and it has buttons to take you to our brand new Shopify and Avon stores, the ferrets giving tree, and a PDF version of our newsletter.
The Shopify store has a few cool things in it but more will be added over the next few weeks. I'm in classes to learn how to do everything in the store.
The Avon store is not like your grandma's Avon. Everything is so fresh and stylish and these are products that you can trust. My family has trusted and used Avon, probably since it started. We are skin-so-soft addicts. Lol
We are in desperate need of cash flow right now. The bills are piling up and our normal resources have diverted their funds towards Helene and Milton affected areas. If you can donate please do, even if you just scrap together a few bucks from friends, neighbors, and co-workers to send, it seems like a little to you but it's a lot to us.
Ask everyone you know that uses walmart.com to select us as their round up charity. A little change brings big changes.
Share our app and stores. They will get great products and 100% of the profits go to the rescue. We can't afford ads right now so if you could promote us that would be a major contribution. A little post or Tik Tok video can go a long way in helping us.

3 Things Thursday!
These are my Top 3 picks from Campaign 22's brochure & my E-Store that caught my eye! Some are cheap and affordable while some maybe on the pricey side! But, no worries in a couple months Black Friday will be here and I plan to buy 3 items to giveaway for Free! I will be sending a reminder when the day gets closer and it will be a new campaign by then, so you may have a better chance at getting a newer product by then! I can still buy items from old campaigns for cheap even if the campaign has already expired! More details on Black Friday will be next month!

idk if you did this before but ummm rank all qotsa albums including them crooked vultures
I'll do you one better! I'll include the desert sessions 11+12 cus imo it's too thoroughly produced to not include
10. lullabies to paralyze
no hate on lullabies but honestly the whole vibe of the record is just sooooo 2005. in my head has to be their worst song just because of how embarassing that chorus is and also there's just a lot of fluff, even the deep cuts on this album feel like throwaway tracks (which I would even say about my favorite songs on the album, tangled up in plaid and broken box). the whole album just feels like a radio-friendly attempt to prove they still had their edge after Nick was kicked out
favorite songs: tangled up in plaid, little sister, i never came, the blood is love, broken box
9. villains
villains gets too much hate. people always point to Mark Ronson for ruining the album but honestly I'm glad we live in the alternate timeline where qotsa made a pop album. the way you used to do is awesome (ESPECIALLY the live version), domesticated animals is awesome, un-reborn again is one of their best songs. hideaway has always sucked tho and I hate the ending of the evil has landed because it just sounds like they were trying to do 3s and 7s again for some reason (with the slide guitars and Josh going "way-ee-ay") but otherwise also one of their best songs. also I wanna mention that Jon Theodore is at his best on this album, you can really hear his background in prog shine through on certain songs
favorite songs: the way you used to do, domesticated animals, fortress, un-reborn again, the evil has landed
8. desert sessions 11+12
first and foremost noses in roses forever is one of the best songs jho has ever written. DS11/12 basically feels like josh decided he wanted to do his own Gorillaz style collaborative project thanks to the increased production values and honestly it just makes me want another desert sessions release just like it.... which contradicts the other thing I wanted to say which is that there's really no album that sounds like 11/12 out there. nowhere else will you hear a song like chic tweetz because any other album would’ve left it on the cutting room floor for being too stupid. i love it
also I wanna say that i think crucifire is for royal blood what ultralight beam was for chance the rapper lmao
favorite songs: noses in roses forever, chic tweetz, easier said than done
7. in times new roman
damn I'm surprised the recency bias isn't getting to me on this one lmao. ITNR has a lot of really good songs on it but put together into an album it really feels like they’re just treading old ground. (I was originally gonna write a review of it when it came out titled “new dog, old tricks”). despite this there’s a lot of great stuff, paper machete and emotion sickness are two of my fav qotsa songs and straight jacket fitting might be their best closer? idk. this would be higher if it didn’t just feel like a “more of the same” type album
favorite songs: paper machete, negative space, made to parade, emotion sickness
6. self-titled
this placement hurts so much because like a year and a half ago this wouldve been #2 anyway i love the self titled so much because it sounds so different from the rest of their discography… you can hear alot of the leftover kyuss influence in the heavier songs and riff writing, plus what other album is gonna try some crazy shit like walkin on the sidewalks or hispanic impressions? (btw hispanic impressions is their most underrated song) also the expanded edition is better for having spiders and vinegaroons but worse for having droids
favorite songs: regular john, avon, how to handle a rope, hispanic impressions, you can’t quit me baby
5. songs for the deaf
i’ve always had beef with songs for the deaf…. i’ve always felt like the best songs on it are so good that they make the lesser songs seem worse in comparison. like another love song is great but when it’s sandwiched between god is in the radio and song for the deaf its like. well obviously this is one of the weaker songs on the album. anyway it’s still good, being the other nick-era qotsa album you can really hear the collaboration between the band’s all-star lineup across the whole thing
favorite songs: hanging tree, go with the flow, god is in the radio, song for the deaf, mosquito song
4. them crooked vultures
TCV is just a really, really solid album. the sequencing is great, the songs are all great, the musicians are all at their A game, ESPECIALLY josh as it’s not an unpopular opinion to say this album is where he really started tapping into his skills as a vocalist. while i consider TCV to be the honorary bonus qotsa album, i feel like it also manages to stand on its own thanks to the creative contributions of dave grohl and john paul jones.
favorite songs: mind eraser no chaser, dead end friends, bandoliers, warsaw, spinning in daffodils
3.5. over the years and through the woods
maybe I'm biased cus qotsa brainworms but the dvd of this is the best concert film/album I've ever heard. there's a perfect balance between songs being played as they are on the record and songs having things tweaked or even reworked entirely, which is something i’m picky about when it comes to concerts (i saw jack white two years ago and he changed waaaaay too many songs :P) also there’s a lot of neat little bonus things in the set, like an early version of make it wit chu, another desert sessions track (covered in punk’s blood) and of course the live performance of fun machine which is a top 3 song for them and always will be
favorite songs: feel good hit of the summer, avon, little sister, you can’t quit me baby, the fun machine took a shit and died
3. rated R
rated R is a perfect album! i think its greatest strength is its sequencing tbh, it succeeds at both giving the impression of it being a concept album (while not necessarily conforming to the concept) as well as having a super diverse tracklist where no two songs sound alike. also characteristic of nick-era qotsa, i love how rated R isn’t afraid to have short songs or long songs, though unlike on songs for the deaf the short/long songs here feel like they don’t sacrifice length for substance relative to other songs.
favorite songs: feel good hit of the summer, leg of lamb, auto pilot, better living through chemistry, i think i lost my headache
2. era vulgaris
there is no album that sounds like era vulgaris. why does misfit love sound like that? why does battery acid sound like that? WHY DOES I’M DESIGNER SOUND LIKE THAT??? it’s so fucking weird and rich with ideas, there isn’t a single moment on era vulgaris where the band isn’t trying something new. even my least favorite songs on here have something new and unique to offer while also being the most fucked up little beast creature thing youve ever heard.
favorite songs: turnin on the screw, i’m designer, into the hollow, 3’s and 7’s, run pig run
1. ...like clockwork
i’m an artsy kid, i like artsy albums, and i love like clockwork for how mature it is. every song feels like a statement, an emotion concentrated into a 4-minute masterpiece. while the lows on here are lower for me than on other albums, they still make important contributions to the album experience as a whole (not to mention the highs soar, i appear missing and fairweather friends are top 5 material for them. I appear missing might even be top 1 tbh.) i’m out of things to say so uhhh yeah like clockwork is my favorite :)
favorite songs: i sat by the ocean, the vampyre of time and memory, fairweather friends, i appear missing

Longtime lurker, hoping you can help me out.
I'd like to purchase a gas mask that is available for say...under $200-300...and compatible with aiming a rifle?
Can you suggest a couple of models that are affordable and easily obtainable?
I'm also (seperately) looking for a low cost self-contained (battery driven supllied air) full-face respirator for painting or spaying pesticides but the cost of the 3M system has kept me from taking the plunge. I find half masks or disposables really uncomfortable to breath through. Any suggestions?
That depends on a lot of things - let's start with the most important one, are you wanting to buy new or are you experienced enough to know what to look out for with surplus items?
Assuming you live in the U.S., imo the best option for most tactically-inclined individuals are ex-police Avon C50's; They sit smack dab in the middle of the pricepoint you described (going for $250+ on average) and they meet 80% of the criteria for what I personally believe a modern "tactical" mask (not just military) should encompass:
Panoramic eyelens with a wide ecosystem of lens outserts
Optical insert capability
Comms and/or Voice Amplifier-Capable
Mesh skullcap-type head harness with low-profile buckles for helmet integration
Butyl rubber and glass-filled nylon construction
Common, standardized drinking adapter
Threaded for Rd40x1/7" NATO Canisters for greater flexibility of protection (i.e.; using canisters intended for specific threats instead of just general purpose CBRN)
Left and right-hand capable side ports
Interchangeable inner nosecups for custom sizing based on individual facial ergonomics The only thing it really lags behind in is having poor passive voice communication (no voice diaphragm, just the outlet valve), as well as poor moisture drainage (you will have to lean forward to drain any sweat, spit, etc out the outlet valve rather than it draining naturally)
All gas masks are generally going to put you at a disadvantage as far as aiming a rifle, and even masks designed for improved rifle ergonomics like the Avon FM53/54 still give a massive amount of stand-off when attempting to look down your sights, so I'd definitely hop on the bandwagon of tall optic risers if gas mask usage is a legitimate consideration.
Other excellent surplus options include the older Avon FM12, Scott/Kemira M/95 (or more realistically, the Scott M110 if you can find them; the M/95's drinking system is hard to get adapters for), or even MSA Millennium or surplus M40A1 Protective Masks are all viable options with a fair amount of aftermarket support. As far as buying newly-manufactured masks, you're going to be cutting above the $300 mark - Avon sells their C50 (and FM50, which is the same but with proprietary cartridges) at an MSRP of $500
Mira Safety is a brand you've likely heard of, who are mostly known as a redistributor of gas masks manufactured for them by Czech firm Gumarny Zubri. Mira as a company is incredibly underhanded and shady - they make a lot of false claims about who they sell to and the capability of their products, and not to mention their ad campaigns are the most blatantly mudslinging/misinformed.
Objectively the only thing that Mira/GuZu masks really shine at is having slightly higher quality rubber and superior passive voice comms and downward moisture drainage over Avon designs. They fail at basically every other aspect. However, they do work and they are cheaper if buying brand-new masks is a requirement for you.
I sadly don't have many suggestions as far as commercial/industrial PAPR units - I know a lot of those are surplussed by the pharmaceutical/medical industry, so I'd browse options, get to know them and spend time obsessively browsing ebay for various models and knowing how to tell when they're complete and serviceable.
Oh and one last thing -
P3-rated Particulate Filters are your best friend if all you realistically expect to face off against is tear gas and nuisance dusts. Particulate filters don't really expire since there's basically no chemicals that break down and can be stored almost indefinitely provided there's no moisture to foul the filter element.
40mm threaded P3 cartridges made by 3M, Racal, MSA etc are super common on the industrial surplus market and can be had in bulk for reasonably cheap, especially as "expired" lots.

1951?/52 baby teenage Elvis, Gladys starts selling Avon and Elvis is her test subject for some of the products, he loves how it looks tho so Gladys allows him to keep some things to play with and it kinda gets him into the rockabilly scene
Hi, friend! I'm sorry this took me so long. Please enjoy this short (but sweet) little thing, just for you. I hope it meets your expectations! ❤️
Warnings: NONE, this is pure cotton candy fluff!
Avon Calling
Elvis comes home from school to find his mother at the dining room table with some kind of pink suitcase.
"Oh! Booby, you're here! I need your help."
He walks cautiously to the table and sits down.
"What's all this, Mama?"
"I've found something new to help us make ends meet."
"Aw, Mama, you shouldn't have to do that. Me and Daddy can take care of all that." She purses her lips and opens the case.
"Booby, I want to do this. Will ya just let me? I'm excited."
"Okay, okay, Satnin, you can do whatever this is." He gestures to the suitcase.
She smiles and holds up a lipstick.
"It's Avon! I'm going to help the ladies in our neighborhood beautify themselves."
"Alright, Mama. But what did you need my help with?" She smiles sweetly at him.
"I need to test my makeup skills."
"Aw, Mama, no. That's embarrassin'. Boys don't wear makeup."
"I know, Booby, but I have no one else. I promise no one will ever see you. Please? Just help me?" He looks at her sitting there, a pleading look on her face. He loves her so much and wants to make sure she's happy. What could it hurt?
"Alright, fine. But we're wiping it off as soon as you're done." He scoots closer to her so she can get to his face. He can tell she's excited to do this.
"Okay, close your eyes." She begins to pat some powder on his face. He tries not to sneeze. Then, she rubs some rouge on his cheeks.
"Just a little, for a natural look."
"Okay, Mama. Whatever you say."
"Now I'm going to do some eye makeup. Keep your eyes closed and stay still." She carefully swipes on some eyeliner on his upper eyelids.
"Okay, open." Then she takes the little brush and applies some mascara to his thick brown lashes.
"Alright, is that all? Are you finished?" He asks impatiently, keeping his eyes open and looking around. He wants to help his mama, but he's nervous to see what she's done to him.
"Oh, Booby. You look beautiful. I'm not half bad at this. Go take a look." She's amazed at how good he actually looks. He walks to the bathroom to see her handiwork.
When he sees himself in the mirror, his mouth pops open. His cheekbones seem more prominent and his complexion is smooth. And his eyes. Wow. His beautiful blue eyes are even more remarkable when they're brimmed by thick black lashes. He turns side to side, incapable of taking his eyes off himself.
"What do you think?" His mama hollers from the kitchen.
"I-I look- I look good." He walks back into the kitchen and puts his arms around her.
"Oh, Satnin, thank you. You were right. You're great at this." He kisses her on the cheek.
"Do you wanna wipe it off now? Maybe I can try again?"
"No, Mama. I don't want to wipe it off at all." In that moment he decides. Makeup is something he'll wear whenever he can get away with it.
"Mama, can I have these?" He picks up the eyeliner and mascara.
"Of course, Booby. Are you sure?"
"Yes. I'm sure." He takes the makeup and goes back into the bathroom to admire himself again. Now he just needs to figure out how to put it on himself...
Hope you love it! ❤️

Full Moon Music.
We’ve always featured darkness since our very first broadcast on Omega WUSB. By our fourth show, we came close in completing our first full-fledged darkness set in a more dis-organized era when we were still trying to figure ourselves out. Back then, ‘darkness’ meant any amount of well-known industrial, metal, and electronic acts with an evil, deviant, or negative tinge to it. Think Throbbing Gristle, Clock DVA, Whitehouse, Godflesh, NON, and etcetera. We finally achieved full force during a bonus summer broadcast (#21) and since then things evolved in how we did those shows. We’ve made a point in doing at least one but no more than two of these dark broadcasts per year, usually in the winter as it’s the best weather, and that’s not including the Halloween broadcasts we’ve done. That’s a whole other class in itself.
It wasn’t until November 2017 when I attended Hospital Productions’ 20th anniversary, a night I’ll never forget. It was the culmination of nine months of benefits and stay-at-home recovery from three life-saving shoulder surgeries. It felt so good being in my element in Brooklyn (Greenpoint) with all the industrialists, goth girls, and noise aficionados dressed in black. Ten hours of paying personal tributes to Dominick Fernow and his label made me realize there was more to look forward to. It’s something never experienced on Long Island, and don’t even get me started with what that “culture” consists of.
That event left a lasting impression on me. If the label had its’ magic on me with Cocaine Death, then I was totally mystified with its’ own showcase. Even everything surrounding it - the train rides, playlists, playbacks, the weather - felt significant to me. And then some. The following month, Omega WUSB opened up the winter broadcasting season / year with more Hospital Productions and Sacred Bones music to air. Both of those labels had their 20th and 10th label anniversaries respectively and we loved what they’ve released. Philip Best’s Alien Existence and a shipment of RRRecords’ cassettes and vinyl arrived at the residence; both which made me feel proud of myself. By Year Six, Omega WUSB was more focused in playing darkwave, synthwave, soundscapes, and even witch house. As the colder months progressed, I discovered a Brooklyn goth girl who followed me and liked my posts on the regular. She was that rare person I really identified with and gave me a serious run for my money like no other.
Through all the euphoric ups, heartbreaking downs, and greyscale steadies, the show must go on. The events of Hospital Productions and identification still surround me. They are a reminder of who I am, where I’m from, what I look forward to, and who I associate with. The darkness broadcasts still go strong and we look forward in doing them like you wouldn’t believe. By now, Omega WUSB has been more organized. Of all the different genres we play, we make it a point to do these dedicated darkness sets when the weather’s suitable and as long as the music’s current. Aside from that, we still run dedicated bonus (and even our one-and-only deluxe Leap Day) noise shows and we aim to make all of our other goth rock, black metal, classic industrial, minimal, and other midnight finds when and where applicable. All of our listeners know that organizing at least 15 different genres and making them all fit is a challenge.
This past winter, we aired one broadcast of dark electronics from Avon Terror Corps and the L.I.E.S. label, doom metal, no-tech, and some textural noise. Somehow we fell into the rabbit hole of darkwave, synthwave, minimal, and EBM and we’ve had enough for a great three-hour idea. With WUSB’s ethos of independent radio and our ethos of everything new, current, and relevant, we had a case to go off-the-board.
Here’s what I / we’ve been feeling and experiencing for the past four winters. This soundtrack supplements the pristine spectre of full moons and constellations in the clear frigid black skies, plus all the positive events that still stays with me make for a distinct spell I can call my own. No Wax Trax, no Bauhaus, The Cure, The Cramps, Siouxsie Sioux, or Depeche Mode. No doubt they’re all legends, but not every tracklist or mix has to be that way. Everything found here is current and on a different level. If at any time I need to get myself up, I’ll reach back to this and know I’ll come back to something I can call what’s mine.

The RSC's climate emergency THE TEMPEST is led by Alex Kingston. The show's set and costumes are largely re-used, upcycled, or taken from items found on UK beaches. Using the Theatre Green Book as a starting point, the RSC's new adaptation of "The Tempest" is placing the climate emergency centre stage. Many items of the production set were found during beach cleans, as well as being adapted from local rubbish provided by the local community in Stratford-upon-Avon. Tickets
