Not a Tragedy No Bacon Is: Celebrating Delicious Alternatives to Bacon
"Not a Tragedy No Bacon Is" presents a lighthearted and humorous take on dietary restrictions or preferences that exclude bacon. This phrase challenges the common perception that bacon is an essential, irreplaceable ingredient in many dishes.
Tumblr media

The expression playfully inverts the expected reaction to a lack of bacon, suggesting that its absence isn't as catastrophic as some might believe. It acknowledges the popularity of bacon in many cuisines while reassuring those who choose not to eat it—whether for health, religious, ethical, or personal reasonsthat alternatives exist and can be equally satisfying.
This phrase could be used as a slogan for vegetarian or vegan cooking, promoting the idea that delicious meals can be created without relying on bacon. It might also appeal to those looking to reduce their meat consumption or explore new flavors and ingredients.

The wording, with its slight Yoda-like inversion, adds a touch of whimsy and memorability to the concept. This could make it an effective catchphrase for a cookbook, a health-focused social media campaign, or even a restaurant specializing in bacon-free dishes.
Ultimately, "Not a Tragedy No Bacon Is" encourages culinary creativity and open-mindedness, reminding us that dietary changes or restrictions can lead to new and enjoyable gastronomic experiences.

Steve would have been very happy with the amount of attention that Billy Hargrove was paying to him if he had a single fucking clue what Hargrove’s game was.
He was old news. A has been. Really the only reason Steve got invited anywhere was out of some communal nostalgia senior year seemed to spark for times gone by.
Still, he took what he could get. And what he could get seemed to be Hargrove lingering over his shoulders in corridors, hands firm and warm on the nape of his neck. Whispering things to him that could be playful threats or propositions in equal measure.
Steve wondered where the line of teasing stopped and overt gayness began with the way Hargrove treated him.
It was probably nothing, even if it set Steve’s skin ablaze. It had been nothing with Jonathan. The Hargrove situation hadn’t shown signs of being any different.
Sometimes they’d share a single pack of Marlboros in freezing, soaking wet town enclaves. Steve watching the way Billy’s chest moved under his Queens of the Stone Age t shirt, the spark of the burning cigarette between his lips, the way his blond curly hair stuck to a neck tattoo Steve couldn’t quite make out.
He was pretty quiet one on one. Evidently well read, judging by the hardback copy of Wuthering Heights he lugged around in his bag every day. Sarcastic Pretentious as all hell. So beautiful it was hard to directly look at him. Like the statues which overlooked his grandmother’s orthodox Ukrainian church.
They made stupid bets sometimes, influenced by something from Munson’s endless supply of drugs. That was how Steve ended up with a lip piercing, stupid as it looked. Hargrove still insisted he looked “hot as fuck” though. Which was nice of him.
That was how he found out about Neil. A bet. Scaling to the top of the Mayors house or spill your guts. Billy had been looking strong until the telltale sirens of Hawkins Police became audible in the distance. Then he ran. Police could never find him. The consequences would be life threatening.
Steve couldn’t imagine his dad doing anything more than clipping him around the ear if he got in trouble with the police. Certainly not anything involving a belt. Not his dad who’d struggled through English at the dinner table so that Steve wouldn’t be the one kid speaking Polish at kindergarten.
A mutual understanding blossomed after that but Steve was still no clearer to figuring Billy out. Steve was now very aware that Billy was gay and all the girls he brought home was a sham but the way Billy would treat him in public didn’t seem worth potentially outing himself to Neil, all over some dumb joke rivalry. He’d started painting Billy, hoping that a flurry of artistic passion would burn through this crush. Unfortunately, there was no such luck.
Steve’s therapist told him he needed to communicate, as if that was so fucking easy. The guy who needed a therapist to articulate the feelings his autism regularly obscured or muddled up would totally be able to declare his undying affections to a very confusing 18 year old.
The paintings started to outnumber the amount of available wall or floor Steve had by graduation, which Steve scraped by thanks to several disability specialists. He watched Legally Blonde every day for a week and considered becoming a monk.
Instead, Scoops Ahoy was dumped into his lap and he got to spend his days scooping fucking ice cream, instead of living the life of a tragic and aesthetic tumblr blog, like he’d briefly dreamed at 14. Every girl he tried to flirt with told him that he looked like a “demon twink” and Billy insisted on parading around in his red lifeguard shorts and sunglasses in the mall, generally being the bane of Steve’s existence.
They still talked occasionally, despite Billy’s filled to the brim social and academic life. Billy was either frustrated or depressed most of the time, tattoos now completely covering his arms and chest with an equal amount of piercings, which Steve did not stare at in the slightest.
And he was getting out. He was finally taking himself and his car (possibly Max too if the situation called for it) and going back to California. Back home. Steve smiled for him, even though it felt painfully fake considering his own sad excuse for a future.
Neil ran in July. Some old criminal charges from the late 80s had caught up to him and now he was in either Alabama or Texas depending on who you believed. Billy was absolutely jubilant, came out publicly only a week later and quickly intensified his plans to move, now that he knew his sister was safe.
Steve found himself wondering if he’d find some boy in California. Someone who was perfect but also ordinary and could keep up with Billy’s rapidly moving brain. He hoped they’d be very happy together.
Billy asking him to join threw Steve through a minor curveball. This was because A) everything needed to be planned in Steve’s head and he really struggled with spontaneity and B) he wasn’t much feeling like third wheeling when they got to California.
Steve told him this and Billy stared at him like he’d grown a second and third head. He lapped the Camaro twice before sitting back on the hood next to Steve and asking why in the hell he thought Billy was asking.
Steve weakly responded with “because we’re bros?”
And Billy rolled his eyes so hard Steve briefly thought they might fall out of his skull and kissed him. Which was unexpected. But also incredibly sexy. Then Billy broke away and asked if that was answer enough.
Yeah, that seemed sufficient.
Steve was going to California.
And those paintings were never going to see the light of day.
For @bigdumbbambieyes tysm for being wonderful

Since it's still April, I had to do another drawing dedicated to Autism awareness/acceptance month, this time, with some characters that I like and that I think (just headcanons, nothing official, just my interpretation) are on the spectrum:
- George Lundgren with his friends Fern Walters and Carl Gould (this one being canon!) from Arthur;
- Resasuke from Aggretsuko;
- Alphys from Undertale (with Undyne who 100% supports her... with a kinda tacky t-shirt, but with good intentions)
- Peridot from Steven Universe ♾

Showing Support: The Meaning Behind Wearing Blue for My Son
Wearing blue for my son is a powerful symbol of support and awareness for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This simple act carries profound meaning, representing solidarity with individuals and families affected by autism. The color blue has become closely associated with autism awareness, chosen for its calming properties and connection to communication.
Tumblr media
Buy now:19.95$
As a parent, donning blue attire signifies my unwavering love and dedication to my son's journey. It's a visual reminder of the unique challenges and triumphs we face together. Blue serves as a conversation starter, allowing me to educate others about autism and promote understanding and acceptance.
This gesture extends beyond personal significance, contributing to a larger movement. By wearing blue, I join countless others in raising awareness, advocating for resources, and fostering a more inclusive society. It's a call for compassion, urging communities to embrace neurodiversity and support individuals with autism.

Wearing blue for my son is more than a fashion choice; it's a statement of hope, resilience, and unconditional love. It honors his strengths, celebrates his uniqueness, and reinforces my commitment to helping him thrive in a world that's slowly becoming more understanding and accommodating.
Autism mom quotes encapsulate the unique experiences, challenges, and joys of raising a child on the autism spectrum. These powerful statements often blend love, resilience, and advocacy, serving as both inspiration and validation for other parents on similar journeys.

These quotes highlight the strength required to navigate a world not always designed for neurodiversity. They celebrate the small victories, acknowledge the difficult moments, and emphasize the unconditional love that fuels their dedication.
Many autism mom quotes focus on embracing differences, challenging societal norms, and fighting for acceptance and understanding. They often reflect a mixture of fierce protectiveness and a desire to help their child thrive independently.
These quotes can be comforting, empowering, and unifying for the autism community. They remind others that they're not alone in their experiences and serve as a rallying cry for increased awareness and support.
The autism puzzle piece, often depicted in vibrant colors, has become a widely recognized symbol for autism awareness. The most common color associated with this emblem is a bright blue, reflecting the statistic that autism is more prevalent in males. However, the puzzle piece can appear in various hues, including red, yellow, and blue, representing the diversity of the autism spectrum.

The multicolored puzzle piece symbolizes the complexity of autism and the uniqueness of each individual affected by it. It also represents the hope for greater understanding and the ongoing search for answers. While some embrace this symbol, others in the autism community prefer alternative representations, leading to ongoing discussions about the most appropriate and inclusive imagery for autism awareness.

Various mundane Dungeons and Daddies headcanons:
Glenn has scoliosis. Has never done anything about it since his diagnosis and yet doesn’t understand why he gets awful back pain
Nicky loves buying people stupid t-shirts, all of the kiddads have at least a few hanging in their closet
Both Hero and Normal steal Lark’s shirts after he moves in with them, because they’re all either soft from being worn for years on end, or (as above) have really stupid sayings about autism on them and they think every single one is hilarious. Lark hates this but won’t stop them because Sparrow hates it more
Ron has a bad habit of picking up strays and taking them home to Samantha. She’s known by name at the local animal hospital and shelter because they drop animals off so much
Terry Jr.’s favorite musical is Beetlejuice!
Scary and Taylor both really like My Little Pony, but neither of them are open about it due to embarrassment so they have no idea
Henry’s favorite flower… is all of them ☺️ he just can’t choose, okay! What if one of the other flowers gets sad?
While in the Omega Daddies’ castle, in the Nicholas Foster timeline, Nicholas and Grant bonded over thinking their parents should get divorced
Lincoln’s favorite color is tied between orange and blue
Darryl is the youngest of the Season 1 dads! He and Carol had Grant early compared to the other dads, though the difference in years isn’t enough to be very noticeable. Ron and Henry are the same age but Henry looks the youngest. Glenn is the oldest, even before the Meth Bay arc
Sparrow won’t admit to this because he thinks it ruins the love wolf branding, but his favorite Wild Shape is actually a wolf dog. The full wolf is more useful, but he likes being smaller than that! (Everyone from S1 is knows this because Henry goes the full wolf route but isn’t even aware that Sparrow considers it a secret)
Hermie has a Funko Pop collection, but by the time Season 2 happens, they’re discontinued so this is cool

L gender thoughts
ive talked about this before but I cannot recall if it was on discord or on tumblr so here you go. basically I think L would look generally the same regardless of gender, and I believe that even as a woman L would find it most convenient to allow others to assume she's a man.
let's run down the possibilities!
variations on L as a man
cis canon. no notes
trans I headcanon that if L is trans, he realized at a very young age. I believe Watari would support his transition and get him started on T very young so he would pass very well, basically indistinguishable from canon.
if he started transitioning after starting estrogen puberty L would not bind he would not be able to handle the sensations. I don't think he'd care enough to get top surgery, he'd just keep slouching in his baggy shirt and no one would notice. even if other people clocked him they wouldn't do anything about it because hey this is L, the best detective in the world, you do not want to get on his bad side. alternatively if anyone is like hey L why do you look kinda feminine he'd just be like what the hell are you talking about you're imagining things
variations on L as a woman
cis I believe any version of female L would be extremely aware of how her gender would impact how others see her. cis woman L would be willing to let others assume she is a man because that means they'll take her more seriously. she probably deepens her voice with the distorter. also she still dresses exactly the same and does not wear a bra on account of the sensory issues. I imagine her voice is on the deep end for a cis woman and that helps. when the task force finds out she's a woman, she enjoys playing into their shock. like oh yeah you thought I was a man didn't you? gotcha!
trans (disclaimer before this section that I am tme) along with misogyny, transfem L must be very aware of transmisogyny and how to navigate a world where she is at the very bottom of the gender hierarchy. she has a choice to make: live as a man and be taken more seriously, or live as a woman and be happier. I believe that even if she realized as a child, she is already very aware of this dynamic.
Watari is still supportive and willing to find estrogen for her, but he also knows that she will have an easier time being taken seriously if she operates a man. this may play into why she operates so anonymously: both for safety against her enemies, and safety against "allies" who would turn against her if they knew about her gender. she probably avoids being seen as much as possible, thus heavily relying on Watari's laptop and the voice distorter. when she meets the task force, she cuts straight to the point and does not bother to acknowledge any of their surprise that she's a woman.
she still dresses the same because L's fashion is driven not by gender but by autism. I do like the idea of her growing out her hair a little longer though and maybe she paints her nails. maybe she would wear a crop top once in a while but again I don't think she really cares that much about style compared to comfort
-
I don't have much to offer about nonbinary L sorry. I think xe would still look exactly the same as every other L if that helps. nonbinary is such a wide range of genders that anything I could write would be reductive.

Steven Stone headcanons because he's one of my favorite characters
Tumblr media
-He's really good at old timey electroswing dances, and shit at any other ones. Probably dances like this with Wallace
-If he and Wallace ever got married, he'd probably propose with a rose quartz ring because they symbolize love and compassion
-I like to believe that he's had his metagross ever since he was a kid. In the games, he also mentions how his favorite pokemon is beldum. It'd be cute to think of him getting his metagross as a beldum, as well as it being his first pokemon
-No, but the games go out of their way to talk about how attractive he is (especially team magma and team aqua). He's aware of all of it, but chooses to ignore it. Does get awkward or flustered anytime someone flirts with him
-He can and will go on four hour tangents talking about his favorite rocks (he literally talked to deoxys about a cool rock I can't with him-)
-Owns metagross shorts. In fact, change his summer outfit in masters to wear metagross shorts, and we're all good
-This isn't really a headcanon, but masters mentions how he likes Hoenn Rangers (pkmn version of power rangers) and I like the idea of him being a super hero comic nerd
-Considering the fact that he goes and hands out rocks to people, he is most likely the one that helped Wally find a dawn stone and a moon stone to evolve his gallade and delcatty
-Sits on his Metagross doing whatever (reading, messing with his rocks, sleeping) and Metagross just kinda lets it happen
-His favorite candy is rock candy
-When he found out what Terra stones where, he put Wallace in charge of being Champion for like 6 months as he raced his way to Area Zero
Tumblr media
-Has autism with stones being his special interest (idk if it's real, but I can't get over the line above)
-Ironically, he doesn't like rock music. He heard it once and never again
-Really enjoys art museums and all that kind of stuff, especially statues. Him and Cynthia go together anytime one of them visits
-Has lickded at least 5 rocks and has attempted to eat at least 1
-Both cares about neatness and doesn't care. When in caves, he won't care about getting his clothes dirty, but doesn't like getting messy outside of that
-Anime only: Has a soft spot for Maryn and Alain, and let's them get away with more than they should
-Enjoys boardgames a lot. In my champion roommate au, I can imagine Iris and Blue trying to teach Steven how to play Mario Kart or something, and he just sucks ass at it. But he's really good at Minecraft for some reason. Spends a lot of times in the game mining
-Really good friendswith Professor Sycamore and they talk about mega evolution and rocks together
-He sleeps in really soft pajamas and is sometimes a nerd about them. He has Skarmory, Cadilly, and Aggron onsies, and a pajama top with beldum patterns on it. Casual clothes would be T-shirts with words like, "Sinnoh Rocks!" and then having a lot of evolutionary stones for the print pattern or something like that
-Aggron's dex entry mentions how they plant trees and soil to keep their mountains looking nice. Steven saw his Aggron doing this, and started doing a bit of gardening himself
-Wallace does, in fact, use the nickname "Silver-haired dreamboat" for him and Steven looks like this anytime that happens

So, in light of Autism Awareness Month, anyone you can see as autistic? And who would lean more sensory-averse or more sensory-seeking? And low empathy or high empathy?
Idk how much input I can give on empathy levels but I can give input on sensory seeking vs averse
Luigi: A big autism headcanon for me. Averse to some kinds of sensory input but seeks out other types.
Lucina: Sensory-seeking, most likely. Prefers bright patterns of clothes, to the point where others consider it to be strange.
Pit: Sensory-seeking for sure! His love of various types of food, hot springs, and other sources of sensory input is something that gets repeatedly mentioned.
Red: Sensory-seeking. This dude straight up stood on a snowy mountain peak with a t-shirt and vest.
Pac-Man: Sensory averse. Wears gloves all the time and can easily get irritable when overwhelmed.
Robin: Sensory averse. Big cloak helps.

Do you have any tips for going clubbing as an autistic person? I would love to do it, but it sounds like sensory hell, I have no clue how you manage to do it
id say the main thing about clubbing while autistic is making sure you accommodate your sensory needs! im quite sensitive to loud noises so i always bring ear plugs, i get overwhelmed with bright lights so i always bring cunty sunglasses, and i overheat very easily (though that's more of a thyroid thing than an autism thing) so i always make sure to have a fan with me — im not a huge fan of random people touching me but it's not really a sensory trigger, so im usually fine just finding a more isolated spot and standing there, especially cause im a pretty static dancer lol. i also make sure to be aware of how much discomfort im willing to be in at any given time: sometimes i can shoulder wearing a more elaborate or uncomfortable outfit and dancing until four, other nights i can only shoulder wearing a t shirt and jeans and going home at two.
if you're just starting clubbing, go to clubs that are near you or that you can easily ditch! this is somewhat less relevant if you have a car, but i only use public transport, so clubs that aren't too far away from a bus stop that'll take me straight home are my best friends; doubly so if i was someone just starting out and with no clue as to my tolerance level, it'd be paramount for me to be able to ditch the place rapidly and go home in case i ran out of spoons.
