Honor and Redemption
Six years after a tragedy upended their lives, dashing Patrick returns to win back Eloise’s heart. But her mother’s secrets might push them apart forever… A tender story of family, hope, and love.
Available to purchase on Amazon mybook.to/honor-and-redemption
A childhood love longing to make amends. A daughter fighting to break free. A mother struggling to protect her. Tormented by the past, can they build a better future?
Six years ago, tragedy tore Eloise and Patrick apart. Shouldering the burden of his brother’s death, he spent years drinking himself into oblivion. Now freed from that darkness, Patrick Lennox returns to reclaim the heart of the young lady he left behind.
Can she forgive the man who abandoned her without a word?
Eloise Andrews has enough troubles in her life without Patrick stirring things up. Her mother is a heartless beast who controls every aspect of her life, and Eloise is determined to break free of her—even if it means destroying the perfect reputation her mother is desperate to save.
But not all wounds can be seen, and perhaps something more lurks beneath her mother’s frosty demeanor…
Years of torment taught Emmeline Andrews to shield her heart behind a sterling reputation, and she will do everything she can to ensure her children are protected against society’s cruelty. But with her daughter determined to ruin herself and Emmeline’s own marriage crumbling to pieces, she has to decide whether or not that precious reputation is a shield or a jail.
Jumping between two generations, Honor and Redemption is a story about how our mistakes can shape our world and how the bond between mother and daughter, friends and sweethearts can break when we are afraid to open our hearts.
All of M.A. Nichols’ romances take place in the Generations of Love universe. Each book is a standalone story and can be read in any order with the titles being grouped together into family sagas. The first in this series features the parents with the subsequent books following the next generations as their children find love of their own.

Nichole Williams, 22 (USA 1997)
Nichole Williams already had a 1-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old when she found out that she was pregnant with her fourth child. The 22-year-old mother underwent an abortion in 1997.
The abortionist was Robert Crist, who had a history of killing his clients. He was the killer of 19-year-old Dianne Boyd, a disabled sexual assault victim who was forced into abortion. He was also linked to another teenage girl’s death (Latachie Veal) by abortion in Houston in 1991.
Nichole’s abortion was done in five minutes, indicating that not enough time was taken to lower the risk of severe injury. Seconds before the abortion was done, Nichole struggled to breathe. She was dying on the operating table.
The ambulance arrived 15 minutes later. Despite the attempts of the paramedics and the emergency room where Nichole was taken, she was pronounced dead at 3:12, only one hour and twelve minutes after the abortion began.
Nichole’s funeral was held at the New North Side Baptist Church shortly after her death. Her three surviving children were left without their mother and their youngest sibling.
Planned Parenthood of St. Louis owned the abortion facility, making Nichole another Planned Parenthood death.

My goal for this year was to read at least 50 books this year and I'm going to try to use my TBR to try to reach that goal.

Steal this deal today → https://amzn.to/3AWw176
Jude Sullivan was not interested in traveling to the middle of nowhere to save some cows from whatever monster was killing them. But if that proved to the Coven that he wasn’t a threat to the paranormal community, he’d do it. He would not, however, take on a familiar or fall for the hot shifter in town. Or so he kept telling himself…
No one in his small town knew that Rob Mackenzie was a bear shifter, and he wanted to keep it that way. But with a supernatural creature on the loose and a sexy out-of-towner snooping around, hiding his true nature was harder than ever. In retrospect, kissing the witch had been a bad idea. Especially when he discovered that Jude is his fated mate…
It’s not long before Jude and Mack realize that if they join forces, they can find— and stop—the killer. But figuring out why fate bound two complete opposites to each other might be a bit more challenging…
The Witch’s Familiar, book 1 in the Familiar Mates series, is a MM paranormal romance featuring a grumpy mechanic, a sassy, big city witch, monster hunting, and a camping trip with only one tent. Download today and get ready to fall for Jude and Mack.

For these polar opposites, the most interesting plays will happen off the field.
Garrett Stevens is done with scandal. The drinking, the hookups…he’s over it all. It’s time to grow up and focus on his pro football career. The last thing he needs is a new romance. So why can’t he keep his mind (or hands) off the sexy bar owner who makes him question everything he thought he ever wanted in life?
Chester Monroe is too busy working day and night, making his business a success, to worry about finding love. Even if he was looking for a relationship, it wouldn’t be with someone famous. Which meant getting involved with Garrett was definitely a mistake. The easiest one Chester ever made…
When all is said and done, will the ghosts of the past—and the secrets of the present—destroy Garrett and Chester’s shot at happily ever after?

Flame and Ember, The Kingsleys Book 1
by M.A. Nichols
Simon believes love is no longer an option for him and decides to enter a marriage of convenience with Mina — but she secretly hopes romance can blossom between them. The first in a sweet Regency series!
***
A heartbroken man, a frustrated spinster, and a marriage of convenience that proves quite inconvenient.
Simon Kingsley is in desperate need of a wife. After years of searching, he finally found love. Unfortunately, she wed another, and now, it’s time to settle for someone with whom he can share his life. Love is no longer an option for a man whose heart is irrevocably broken.
Mina Ashbrook longs to marry for love but knows she’s too old, too plump, and too plain to catch a gentleman’s eye. And a marriage of convenience is better than being a spinster sister living off her brother’s charity. Simon may not love her now, but Mina knows there’s hope—if she can convince him that love comes in many forms.
Will Mina find a way to heal Simon’s heart? Or will the shadows of the past keep them from finding happiness together?

Hearts Entwined, The Kingsleys Book 2
by M.A. Nichols
Victoria and Oliver are on the brink of engagement. Their parents are thrilled with the arrangement, but when the couple are thrown together in a month-long house party with former sweethearts, they must decide whether to follow their hearts or follow their families’ desires.
A gentleman and lady on the brink of matrimony…
Victoria loves Elijah.
Oliver loves Sophie.
Romance ought to be that simple. But with no dowry, Victoria cannot marry a pauper. Nor can Oliver wed the daughter of the woman who nearly ruined his parents’ life thirty years ago. Surely, a marriage based on mutual affection and friendship is enough.
Isn’t it?
But when all four are thrown together during a house party, Victoria and Oliver must decide between the duty to their families and following their own desires.
Whose heart must be broken?

A Stolen Kiss, The Kingsleys Book 3
by M.A. Nichols
Before she accepts her fate as a spinster, Lily wants to experience a kiss firsthand. But in a darkened library, she accidentally kisses the wrong man — and is caught by the local gossips! With an engagement as the only solution, can Lily find happiness with her unintended fiancé?
A mistaken kiss. A forced engagement. Can it become something more?
Lily Kingsley is destined for spinsterhood, but she refuses to accept that fate without receiving her first kiss. Luckily, she knows the perfect gentleman to enlist. Unluckily, she mistakes him for another and ends up in the arms of an overbearing and exceptionally frustrating merchant. And her troubles compound when busybodies catch them in their illicit embrace.
An engagement is the only solution, but Lily doesn’t want a fiancé who’s only doing his duty. Especially one who manipulates her into accepting it for the time being. Somehow she must make him see how ill-suited they are.
But why is the fellow so determined to see their engagement through?
Jack Hatcher hates surprises, but when a beguiling lady mistakes him for someone else and launches herself into his arms, he discovers not all surprises are bad. Marriage was not in Jack’s plans, but Lily stirs something inside him he never expected to feel.
But with his fiancé desperate to break with him and a new enemy wooing Lily away, Jack discovers that force of will won’t keep her by his side. Can he find a way to win her heart before it’s lost forever?

D&AD: Pre-Existing Initiatives to Connect Young People with Elders
Co Generate:
Co Generate describes itself as an organisation that brings older and younger people together to solve problems, bridge divides and co-create the future. The organisation takes on a variety of projects, including the creation of AARP Experience Corps, a 20-city tutoring program engaging older volunteers to help 30,000 K-3 students learn to read every year. They also recruited retired medical professionals and volunteers of all ages to vaccinate 47,000 people during covid.
Dorot (US-based):
Dorot makes intergenerational connections by providing programs and services for both young and old. This includes services where young and old members connect through visiting and group activities. This organisation embodies everything we wanted to include in our concept and would serve as a better alternative to the initially selected Reengage charity.
The Together Project (UK-based):
This is also present in The Together Project, a national UK charity that reduces loneliness through intergenerational connections. The charity is more-so focused on connections with young children, however.
The Linking Network (UK-based):
"Our Intergenerational Linking programme brings together young people in schools with older people living in care homes, independent living or from community groups. Through Intergenerational Linking, young and older people share time and stories which creates meaningful and lasting relationships between generations".
The Linking Network has many varieties of making links and is only contained to certain locations in the UK.
City of Pointe-Claire- Aid for Seniors (Canada-based):
House work and yard maintenance services are provided by young students.

The Wisdom Exchange (US-based):
The project unites older and younger African Americans for storytelling focused on culture, race, and history. Its aim is to build relationships, pride, and identity, while inspiring action.
Read to Me (Hawaii):
The power of storytelling across the generations is equally evident in Read to Me International, a literacy non-profit in Hawaii that runs Haku Mo'olelo, which means "to compose stories." The program engages older volunteers—mainly retired teachers, artists and authors—to coach women in prison in the art of writing and illustrating children's books, a process that can offer purpose, connection, and healing.
Nuns and Nones (US-based):
A group that brings together nuns (average age: 78), and Millennials who describe themselves as "spiritual" but who check "none" when asked to identify their religion. These two groups want to learn from one another and serve others together.
The Impact:
Source 2: Bocioaga, A. (2020). Impact of intergenerational activities on older people. [online] Available from: https://www.iriss.org.uk/resources/esss-outlines/impact-intergenerational-activities-older-people [Accessed 15/01/2024]
Research indicates that older adults living in adult care facilities often experience social isolation and have fewer opportunities to use their skills and energy, which in turn, can lead to disenchantment, frustration, and depression (Murayama, et al 2015).
On the other hand, due to increasing urban living, there are increasingly less opportunities for ongoing contact between different generations, especially between younger and older generations. This can lead to stereotyping and ageist attitudes where older generations are poorly valued (McAlister et al 2019).
Intergenerational programmes are “social vehicles that create purposeful and ongoing exchange of resources and learning among older and younger generations” (Kaplan 2001 p. 4).
Brighter Bervie (UK):
Brighter Bervie is a voluntary gardening group which hosts intergenerational activities in Inverbervie, Aberdeenshire. The organisers observed that both younger and older people undertook more physical activity by being part of the project.
Anam Cara (UK):
Anam Cara is an intergenerational project in Kilbirnie which aims to tackle stereotypes around dementia by connecting older people and young children for the benefit of both age groups. Impact included increased mobility, increased incidences of laughter and remembering old skills and learning new ones.
Sandfield Close Primary School (UK):
The older volunteers helped demonstrate and encourage children to use knives and forks correctly. They also assisted in producing a food growing and cooking plan for the school. One of the impacts were a sense of social inclusion.
Ageing Well Torbay (UK):
One project created a space in Warberries Nursing Home where two Childminders a day and their minded children (0-4yrs) participate in shared activities with the residents ( 65+), eat lunch together, walk & play in the garden and learn together.
Apples and Honey Nightingale (UK):
Connects two local organisations in London: Apples and Honey Wimbledon Nursery and Nightingale Hammerson residential care. The activities involve an intergenerational baby and toddler group. Parents and carers can bring children who are newborn upwards. Reported benefits for the older group involve a general sense of wellbeing for participants with dementia.
Things to consider:
Previously, Dellman-Jenkins (1998) had highlighted that many intergenerational activities were designed only with the young people in mind. They also stress that older adults are not homogenous, they have different interests and levels of functioning that need to be considered. They argue that contact with members of the young generation is most likely to be positive for older people when they perceive themselves to be in meaningful and valued roles. Interactions should also be perceived by older adults to be centred around meaningful and worthwhile activities. Older adults should be involved in the planning and content of the activities.
Summary of findings:
These pre-existing initiatives provide valuable insights for the Airbnb brief, emphasizing the importance of diverse intergenerational activities and meaningful connections to combat loneliness within Generation Z.

Holidays!
Since its the holidays I decided I’d read a bunch of Christmas themed books.(I found all of these on kindle unlimited just an fyi.) My list so far is:
Set The Record Straight- This one is onlyy just a little under 200. It was a super cute queer romance novella. It’s about two best friends fake dating because one of their ex’s is throwing a holiday party. And of course who’d go to an ex’s holiday party alone? But alas we all know how the fake dating troupe goes soo not trying to spoil but thats the whole premise lol. Its just about their cute little love story (and lots of smut) I gave it 3 stars (on goodreads) at first. Just cause how short and rushed it felt, but I changed it to four since it is a short story and they were friends for years so them moving so fast makes some sense. When you know, you know I suppose.
Home for The Holidays by Erin Zak- I gave this one a 4 stars on goodreads. It was a super cute WLW. It’s set in Indiana in a small town. Iris (MC) agrees to fake date her bestie/roommate (Zac) so he doesnt have to come out to his mom. So they travel to indiana together and Iris stops by a cafe to get treats where she meets Heidi(MC 2). This one is a such a cute romantic read. It also has the trials and tribulations of coming out woven in there. There is an age gap in the relationship in case thats something you’re not into. Sometimes the descriptions of the characters got a little repetitive but other than that the writing was pretty upbeat and funny. This was a longer read but it was so fast paced and funny it felt short. Id recommend if you’re just looking for a cute holiday read.
Corporate Mantdated Holiday Romance by Nellie Wilson- This book got a 4 stars from me. It was another fake dating troupe. The Female MC is named Brooklyn, she works in marketing at a company that basically sells being eco friendly. The M/MC is a journalist. Brooklyn finds some sketchy things going on and together they start a story on it. Along the way they hangout and fall in love. What made this book so unique from these others is, it was more inclusive with other holidays. It made me aware of how ignorant i am to other holidays. Especially judaism. The author writes some scenes that are a great of example of how to help be an ally without being an SJW or speaking over people.
Mistletoe Mistake by Nichole Greene- I did not finish this book. It’s 170 something pages of just bad to be honest. The writing is pretty wattpadish. It feels like it was written in a day and by how many grammar mistakes and weird sentences it had, I would say it most likely was. Also losing points cause it’s advertised as a holiday book but it just felt like a badly written plain romance. The characters are boringggg, the writing is boring, the storyline? Boring. Maybe i just wasnt fucking with it because it was the second in a stand-alone series but i could not connect with the characters or story. Like the “romance” was just poorly written and cheesy. It had a cute cover though so ill give it that.

That’s why this book was a pleasant surprise and a very enjoyable read, everything is well written, the usual elements that are often used in this genre are missing, add that to a happy…
