Gonna play the exrid apologist again, but regarding Optimus and Prowl I think there is this unfair assessment of Prowl's role being to exonerate Optimus from the atrocities of the Autobots and that what Prowl did in relation to OP is never adressed.
While Prowl has much worse on a reputation in Mtmte and Wreckers, exRID plays it as him being dubious but the extent of his antics being genuinely unknown to the likes of Optimus and Prowl.
Now this doesn't mean that Optimus is scott free, he is ultimately responsible for the actions of the Autobots as their commander. There's the implication that he had his suspicions about Prowl but turned a blind eye, and regardless, this is behavior that's explicit of him in other instances, like how he pays lip service to not liking the Dinobots methods but Grimlock calling him out in that at the end of the day what Optimus' wants is results in OP #25.
But again, there is the fact that Prowl's most obvious and nefarious stuff is potrayed in Mtme, like the New Institute, which is what I hear most when expressing disappointment on this topic.I have talked about how I find is something that exists for Chromedome's characters while leaving a lot of messy implications chronologically and for other characters. And the Roberts goes out of his way to specify that the NI was something Orion was unaware of and wouldn't approve, but if Optimus really was still unaware of its continued existence then he looks like a fucking idiot, which doesn't save much face in contrast to giving it the go. This sort of thing shows up a lot in how JRo writes OP.
But the thing is, I don't think is all that fair to criticize exRID's narrative based on things that were happening simultaneously in Mtmte. For as much as Barber is the continuity guy, I think he should get a break to tell the story he wants to tell.
It is fun to try to get a general reading for yourself (and I do have my own explanations for the incongruities), but I don't think it's a failure of exrid's narrative to not adress details from another series by someone who wasn't the primary writer for these characters at the time when it's already much more mindful of this than average.
Point is, I think that when assessing something like the narrative quality of the relationship between Prowl and Optimus in exRid/OP what should be taken into account first and foremost in how it is presented in exRid/OP itself.
#it like say Rodimus is Mtmte is not bad character on the basis that he is completely different to his spotlight#or exrid soundwave in that he is not like he was in phase 1#like ideally all of this would be perfectly congruent and cohesion does enhance the experience#but ultimately what takes priority on an author's take is what they are doing and how are they doing it#i guess it's hard to draw the line with comics when ultimately they are all piggybacking on previous stuff#but with these two series I feel is different because they were being published at the same time#like something like the shockop relationship in exrid obviously should be taken with the context of Mtmte bc that's from where it takes off#but an if things obviously work a bit different then that should be accepted#quetzal rambles tf

one of the best fics i've ever read, one that had me addicted to my phone and crying, wasn't even prose. it was a huge, casual, bullet-pointed outline with every detail of an au that the author never got around to writing in full. and it was amazing.
let this be a message to all you who want to write but can't do it "normally": write it! someone out there will eat it up. whether that be poetry, tiny drabbles, or bullet pointed list: your work is always worth it. your art (yes, art!) will alway deserve to have its moment in the spotlight. why? because you made it. even if it wasn't done in a traditional matter, it came from your brain and your creativity and that is amazing.

KEN KNEW HE WAS IN DEEP SHIT. Knee deep, even. If you asked him what was going through his head thirty seconds ago, he wouldnât be able to tell you even if he wanted to. Everything that happened next was a blur- from shaking hands with the host to walking back to his dressing room, it felt like he was operating on autopilot. Who wouldnât be, though? He had just announced to the world that he was officially taken; that he was off the market- hooked. Of course, it wouldnât have been a problem if it were trueâŠ
But it wasnât.Â
He had just lied to an audience of a hundred people- not to mention the millions throughout the various streaming platforms the show was being aired on. His nails dug into his palm as he neared his dressing room, the bold, black letters of his name growing larger and larger each step he took. His heart was pounding, and he swore he felt chill down his spine the moment he opened the door. No one could blame him though, not if they knew the inevitable wrath they were about to face.Â
You were stood there, eyes narrowed and resting all your weight on your hip. Your arms were crossed, your lips were pursed. The two of you stayed like that for a few moments, staring at each other as you waited for the other to speak up. Ken swallowed nervously, tapping his foot as he tried formulating an explanation. He wasnât entirely sure as to why he was so overstrung, it was just you. Why should he be terrified of your scolding on his recent screw up?Â
âSpecial someone, huh?â You said through your teeth, finally breaking the tense silence in the room. âSo special that nobody on your team knew of her prior to your public love confession?âÂ
Ah. That was why. The way you were able to see right through him scared him sometimes. He never outwardly showed his reactions, though- at least he tried not to. He cleared his throat before finally moving to plop down on the couch, doing his damndest not to show his jitters.Â
âYeah, yeah whatever. I lied, so what?â He replied, his cocky tone masking the unsureness in his words. âItâs not the first time Iâve done it.âÂ
Strike one. As if you couldnât have been any more pissed off, that seemed to be the tipping point. You paused before letting out a deep breath, circling around him. He closed his eyes when he knew you were behind him, and he waited for you to berate him; to remind him of the consequences of his actions. He waited, but it never came. He opened one eye, and he relaxed when you moved to sit on the opposite couch. He was spared⊠for now.
âWhat, no scolding?â He decided to test, tilting his head to the side as he watched you.Â
You only let out a small laugh, and somehow that was worse than any scolding heâd ever received from you. You were oddly calm, like all your anger had just melted away. Leaning forward, you slid an enclosed piece of paper across the table towards him.Â
âCan you guess what this is, Ken?â You ask, your eyes finally looking back up to meet his.Â
Ken knew not to answer. He was ready to spit out some witty reply, but the look in your eyes told him that this was going to go down another route; one that he definitely didnât want to aggravate.Â
âItâs my resignation letter.â You say nonchalantly, causing him to straighten up once more. âI keep it handy.â
Resignation letter? Was this real? Were you actually going to quit over this? He opened his mouth to speak up but quickly shut it when you maintained your soul-searching gaze. He tried to relax, yet the furrow in his eyebrows seemed to stay as you continued on.Â
âIâm going to be very clear on whatâs going to happen next, Ken.â You say, resting your arms on your knees. âThis will be the last time I help you clear up a mishap. After everything is settled, Iâm gone.âÂ
Gone. His eyes widened slightly, the palms of his hands starting to get clammy. He let out a light, nervous laugh, looking at you as if you had just said something absurd. Which, in his defense, you sort of did. Again, he had no idea why this news was so shocking to him, seeing as youâd only worked under him for a year and a half. Surely he couldnât have been that terrible, right? He stared at the folded paper in front of him before speaking up.
âWhat, uh, what do you mean gone?â He asked through a breathy laugh. âGone like a break or something? Iâm happy to give you one-â
âGone as in I quit.â You cut him off, standing up as you adjusted the sleeves of your shirt. âLike I said, this is the last time I clean up your mess, Ken Sato.âÂ
You moved to walk away, but he quickly caught your arm. âWoah, hold on a sec,â He stood up, looking down at you with stunned eyes. âQuit? Câmon, [Y/N] I know I screwed up but you canât just leave me hanging like this-âÂ
You scoffed at him then, yanking your arm out of his grasp. âOh I canât leave you hanging, huh? Tell me, Ken, how many times have I saved your ass in the last eighteen months Iâve been working for you, hm?â
He swallowed dryly as he tried to recall. He was used to having his name on headlines, most especially after his move last year. He couldnât go five seconds without seeing his ads pop up on his platforms, hell he couldnât even go five blocks without seeing a billboard with his face on it. Which all brought him back to one thing: not one negative scandal under his name. With you, he was perfect; jack of all trades in the MLB and the internetâs favorite spokesperson.Â
Shit. Strike two.Â
You only hummed in response once you read over his expression. âExactly. So the next time you even think about downplaying my job, remember how I was the reason for your recent success.â
Ken was at a loss for words. Rarely was he ever left speechless, he always seemed to have a response ready for anything. But now was definitely not one of those times. He watched as you bent down to retrieve that dreaded letter, and you shoved it into his chest before moving to finally walk past him.Â
âOur flight leaves tomorrow at five a.m, I'll see you in the lobby at three.â You say, not so much as sparing him a glance as you fixed your bag.Â
He managed to let out a quiet âokayâ, gripping onto your letter tightly as he watched you pack up. Damn Ken, you really did it this time, didnât you? He thought to himself, wondering how- or rather, if he would be able to make things right with you. For the first time in his career, he was thinking about someone else other than himself.Â
âOh and Ken,â You say, breaking him out of his dazed stance.Â
âHm?â He hummed out, averting his gaze to be level with yours.Â
âYou had better pray that the next assistant you get is half as good as I am.â You said before closing the door, leaving him alone in his dressing room. All of a sudden it felt⊠quiet. Too quiet. He sighed, dropping down on the couch once more before closing his eyes and masking his face with his hands.
Strike three.Â
THE TENSION IN THE CAR WAS PAINSTAKINGLY PALPABLE. Kenâs leg bounced as the two of you were stuck in airport traffic, the car unmoving for nearly half an hour now. Your occasional sighs and the hum of the carâs engine were the only sounds filling the air. He felt like he was going crazy. He hadnât been able to sleep properly the night before thanks to your bombshell of an announcement. In comparison, though, he probably shouldnât be complaining about bombshells when he himself dropped one twice the size of yours.Â
Still, he was restless. You hadnât uttered a single word to him since landing back in Tokyo, and the unwanted solitude was driving him nuts. He glanced over at you through his shades, noting the way you were impatiently tapping your fingers against the wheel. Obviously you were still pissed at his little stunt, and the articles following the incident didnât aid in calming your anger.Â
He knew it wasnât smart, but he needed to talk to you. The sea of red lights in front of him remained stagnant, and he didnât want to spend another minute in this deafening quietude. He gnawed at his bottom lip before finally breaking the silence.Â
âCan we talk?â He said, looking over at you.Â
âNo.â You replied bluntly.
â[Y/N]-â He started, but one glance from you was enough to shut him up.Â
âI am doing you a huge favor by helping you solve the mess you created.â You said as you looked back at the road ahead of you, lifting your fingers and circling your thumbs around the wheel. âI couldâve left right then and there, leaving you to deal with this on your own. But I didnât, I donât know why, but I didnât.â
You looked back up at him, and only now did he notice the circles under your eyes and the paleness of your complexion. Something inside him twisted; he couldnât tell if it was guilt or regret. Guilt, probably, for having to rely on you to correct his mistakes, and regret for even causing this whole debacle in the first place.Â
âThe least Iâm asking from you is your compliance.â You say tiredly, the glint in your eyes doing most of the talking.Â
âYeah, okay. Sorry.â He managed to get out, leaning back into the passenger seat.Â
And just like that, the dreaded silence was back. By some miracle the traffic started to gain some speed, the taillights of the cars ahead of him dispersing onto the road. His head hit the back of the headrest, and he sat through the entire ride back to the Tokyo Dome contemplating his recent choices.Â
It was only when you knocked on the window of the passenger side when he realized he had finally reached his destination. He got out, stretching his limbs after being cramped inside the car for so long. He threw on his jacket lazily, not even bothering to zip it up. He went to put on his cap, but then he noticed something odd.Â
It was quiet outside the building, the bristle of the trees and the nearby roads the only sound filling his ears. There was something lacking; the neverending shuttering sounds of cameras and eager voices yelling at him to look or to say something. He realized then the lack of paparazzi and reporters outside to greet him, just like they usually did whenever he came back from a trip. His head turned, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked around. Not a single one in sight.
ââSomething wrong?â You asked as you walked past him to swipe your ID into the security system.Â
âItâs just,â He said, still looking around in confusion. He let out an airy laugh as he followed you inside, the expression on his face remaining the same. âThereâs no paps or anything.â
At that you laugh, albeit sarcastically, waiting for him to get into the elevator. âYou know that might be the first time Iâve ever heard a famous person complain about not being bombarded by ill-intent people.âÂ
âIâm not complaining, trust me.â He says, putting his hands up halfway in defense. âItâs weird. Thatâs all.âÂ
âWell thatâs what happens when people think youâre spending time with your special someone after being away for so long.â You say, pulling up a press announcement on your phone.Â
For a split second, Kenji had completely forgotten that he had to keep up the fact that he supposedly had a significant other waiting for him at home. He let out an âahâ, sliding his hands into his pockets as the elevator went up. Again his heart panged, finally realizing why your eyebags were deeper than they usually were. While he may have had discomfort in his slumber, it didnât compare to the hours you were up trying to get everything settled here.
You held the door open to your office, letting him in first. Once the lights were on, he was greeted with your infamous whiteboard, different scribbles of colorful ink filling up the space corner to corner. He cringed at the bolded date of the talk show he was on.Â
âYour bags will be sent here in the next hour, and valet has your bike ready.â You say, doing the usual routine you did whenever the both of you came back from work trips. He sat down on the sofa, nodding each time you reminded him of something.Â
âNow, about the issue,â You walk over to the whiteboard, erasing its contents. âWe need to find you a fake girlfriend.âÂ
He choked on nothing, not surprised by the news but surprised by the continued bluntness of your tone. âI beg your pardon?â
âWe need to find you a fake girlfriend.â You repeated, emphasizing the words obnoxiously.Â
âYeah I get that,â He finally replied, a look of uncertainty splashing his features. âBut youâre making it sound like all we need to do is shop around.â
âWell unless you can give me a face, let alone a name to your special someone, this is the plan we have.â You retort, resting a hand at your hip as the other points at the board.Â
âWhy canât I just be one of those celebrities who keep their relationship private?â He questions genuinely.Â
âOh Iâm sorry, who was the one who announced that they were in love on live television?â You remind him, annoyance laced in your words.Â
He bites back any sort of sarcastic remark that conjures up in the back of his head. You were right, obviously you were right. But some part of him felt it was⊠unfair to not have a say in this. Stupid, yes, but itâs how he felt.
âCan I continue or is there anything else you want to unnecessarily add?â You ask, looking at him with an eyebrow raised.Â
He only lifted a hand, signaling for you to carry on. You go on to explain that whoever ends up âdatingâ him will need to have to go through a contract signing, NDA included. You draw up charts on your board, showing him the possible stats of his ratings if heâll be able to pull this off.Â
âYour next playoff season is about to start, I suggest we get all this settled by then.â You scroll on your smartwatch, looking at the calendar. âIt gives me two weeks to plan everything out. I need you here tomorrow bright and early so that we can go through a list of potential candidates.â
âCandidates? What is this, speed-dating?â He says, making a face at all the analytical parts of your plan.Â
âNo, itâs a game called âsave-my-reputation.ââ You answer snarkily, narrowing your eyes slightly at him.Â
He takes in a deep breath, starting to get annoyed with your remarks. He knew he had no right to, but to think that you were just dictating away at his choices made him feel like some sort of plaything.Â
âI just donât understand why we even need to find a âgirlfriendâ in the first place.â He massages the back of his head before crossing his arms. âI mean everyone thinks Iâve successfully hidden my love life up until now, whatâs the point of going all out?â
He could see you clench your fingers around the marker, and he knew he was close to reaching your tipping once more. All in the span of twenty-four hours. You pinched the bridge of your nose before you spoke up.
âKen. You told the world that you were in love.â You say in an eerily calm tone. âYou got yourself into this mess, now you have to get yourself out of it. And unless you want to say goodbye to your stardom, this is what you need to do.âÂ
He opened his mouth to speak up but was cut off by your phoneâs ringing. You answered, spewing out a quick and formal âthank youâ to whoever was on the other line. You sighed, placing your marker back down on your desk before you walked past him towards the glass door.Â
âYour bags are here.â You say, opening the door. âYour bikeâs parked outside and everything should be good to go.âÂ
Your demeanor had changed in a split second, going from PR manager to assistant in the blink of an eye. At times Ken wondered how you were able to juggle everything. It wasnât the main thing that was on his mind, he had⊠other, more serious things to worry about. Like the other secret he had kept from you all this time; Ultraman. He shook his head, trying not to focus on his double life on top of the situation he was in.Â
Ken knew that your words were a sign to get up and get out, and he did just that. You followed him all the way back down to the lobby of the stadium, handing him his duffel bag and walking him to his bike. Despite your earlier mood, you did your checks on his motorbike that he had grown accustomed to after a while.Â
âTomorrow, bright and early.â You remind him, crossing your arms as he got on his bike. âPlease.â
âTomorrow, bright and early.â He repeats through a huff, slinging his bag into the compartment attached to the back of his motorbike. âGot it.âÂ
You only hummed in response, turning away to walk back into the stadium. He didnât know what it was that came over him, but before he knew it he was grabbing your arm softly once more. Your head spun around to look at him, more of your stray hairs spilling out of your updo. At this angle the sunset brought out the shininess of your eyes, the early evening shadows accentuating your features.Â
He swallowed before he continued. âYou know for what itâs worth, I really am sorry.âÂ
Instead of another curt response, though, you sighed as you pressed your lips together. He lets go of your arm then, not wanting to invade anymore of your personal space than he already has. He can see you poke your tongue into your cheek, a habit you did when you were in contemplation.Â
âWell,â You finally breathe out, your expression relaxing. âIf youâre actually as sorry as you say you are, youâll do as I say.âÂ
ââCourse.â He says before his face gets obscured by his helmet. He nods towards your direction once more before finally revving the engine.Â
Only time will tell what the outcome is, but whatever it is, he hopes he ends up in the one where you donât loathe his very being.Â

An incomplete list of TMA fics I adore
-beacuse of this ask
(If you liked the fics I previously recommended/made fanart for, I think you'll gonna like these as well, but you know, read the tags, know what you are going into)
Yesterday is Here by CirrusGrey @cirrus-grey
Time Travel Fix-it! Slow burn! So good! So much sass from future!Jon- I doubt I have to introduce anyone this amazing author, but if you somehow missed them till now, this is your time! I highly recommend all of their other fics as well, for example one of a more recent one, The Stranger I Know Best is also a lovely read.
enthralling by Prim_the_Amazing @primtheamazing
Vampire!Martin!! I have no words of how much I love this concept, this story, everything about this. I think I'm going to repeat myself through this list, but I also recommend everything else they've written!
to fill... my heart with music? by godshaper @godshaper so their Martin and Jon design are different from mine, also they made a way better art for this- but still, I wanted to include this really good fic in this list.
Do It All Anew by inkfingers_mcgee or @crit20art
You know the feeling when you read a book that makes you cry, and after that you recommend it to your friend? Well- there is no reason I mentioned this, I'm just so normal about this fic. Or any other fic from inkfingers_mcgee... like Strange Manner of what I made another fanart way back. Also, check out their art!
Anyway, here is Aamal- she is not going to cause emotional damage.
And they were sidekicks (oh my god, they were sidekicks) by arthureameslove @arthureameslove
A lighthearted series where Jon and Martin are sidekicks of supervillains- it's just a really fun fic, also recommend everyting from this author - I previously draw fanart here for an other fic of theirs Like a Lighthouse, Call Me Home
neither sad, nor sick, nor merry, nor well by saintbleeding @saintbleeding
To quote the aurthour: "Post-divorce Jon and Martin in a wedding-based romcom" It's such a comfort read, also has a Tim/Sasha wedding, and lots of cameos! I realised most of these authors I made fanarts for before- like this one for some kind of miraculous bind, this one is oneshot and a bit more serious in tone.
Give Me the Words by rakel @rakel-on-ao3
"Jon and Martin try to make the most of a bad situation in the Scottish Highlands. The situation is worse than they realised." You know that one post about wanting to write PWP, but it keeps turning into character study? Well, this one comes to my mind each time I see that.
i wanna find a home (i wanna share it with you) by heartshapedguy @transgenderboobs
So what would have happened if instead of the cot (tm), Jon offered Martin his own flat to stay? There is no way it's going to change their relationship, right? Such a good read, if you want some fluff, I highly recommend it!
Lucky Stars by magnetarmadda @magnetarmadda
Martin has a lovely family (except his mother) but still, he needs a fake boyfriend, and Jon comes to the rescue. It's one of the first fics I remember reading after I finished the series. It is such a comfort read of mine~
(+enjoy a rare tall Jon from me)
There are so many more fics that also deserve the spotlight, these are just the ones I read multiple times and/or didn't made fanarts for before. If you find something here you like, give them some love! Kudos and comments! They deserve it. (Also, just an extra disclamier some of these are PWP or rated T- just mind the tags)
I tried to link and tag everything, I hope it works.
#occudo's art#tma fanart#jonathan sims#martin blackwood#fic rec#so many fic!#thanks for every author who made all of these#and sorry if I forgot to include someone#I tried my best#but sometimes my goldfish memory wins#anyway#good reading!#if you find something here you like give them some love#comments and kudos#long post

I feel like there's a solid group of fans (in all fandoms) who forget that there ARE differences between fanfiction and traditional publishing.
Transformative work is great about allowing you to explore secondary POVs and characters who aren't the focus of a text.
But traditionally published books are by their nature more constrained in their format. The physical nature of books + the publishing system means they only have so many pages. And those pages need to serve the central narrative of a story.
It can be fun to puzzle out 'man but what about the implications of x'? or 'oh, I feel like there's a connection between A and B, that's fun to think about!' or 'okay, but from Character M's point of view this is so tragic, even though they literally only exist in three scenes'. That's why transformative work is transformative, and for me, it's the fun part of fandom!
But what that doesn't mean is that the author is being mean or cowardly for not exploring those things in the source text. An author's focus has to be ultimately on the story THEY want to tell, and what makes that narrative or those themes work.
They do not have the luxury of including every digression your brain might have fun exploring, and it doesn't make them bad authors if their narrative focus isn't the one you would have personally chosen.
"But such and such character was robbed! They only appeared in x scenes and then-"
Okay, but did the scenes they were in serve their purpose? Did we get a sense of how they meaningfully impacted other characters, the plot, or the themes while still having a sense of personhood?
You can critique whether or not an author was successful in using their characters for story purposes or whether they successfully communicated their underlying message or whether the author unintentionally/intentionally included a bias that weakens their writing.
But an author not chosing to spotlight your particular minor character favorite does not make them a "coward" or bad at their craft.

warnings will change as the story progresses! all descriptions of real people in this story are FAKE. i do not know these people and this is purely fiction. Please let me know if I missed anything! <33
authors note: this is an idea I had that I really needed to write. Iâd love to make this a series if you guys want more, just let me know! This is only my second time writing fanfiction and my first time writing for Hugh, please be nice lol. Thank you for reading! <3
Part one: breakup and new beginningsÂ
Being a young girl living in the middle of bumfuck nowhere made it seem impossible to live your dreams of becoming a singer. You grew up in a tiny little town in Louisiana called Minden. With a population of less than 15,000 people, the closest âbigâ city being Shreveport, growing up was pretty boring. You had big dreams of making it big and making it the fuck out of the country. Minden wasnât always so bad. It was a nice community that had fun things here and there, but you craved more.Â
Once you graduated highschool back in 2020, you focused on working and saving as much money as you could, only buying essentials and equipment to help make music. You took a few online classes on producing and tried your best to make whatever song was bouncing around in your head come to life. It took a year for you to feel confident enough to release your first few songs out into the world. So in July of 2021, you teased a song on TikTok to your small following. You started to gain a few more followers here and there, it was exciting. At the end of August, you released your first song titled âto the pointâ and it blew up on the clock app. You gained a hefty following after that, on the brink of hitting one million.Â
By the end of 2022, deciding on Los Angeles, you had finally saved enough money to move, so you were packing your bags and heading out. Your agent was ecstatic about the move because it meant more opportunities for your career. After releasing a few more songs over the past year, you hired Stacy to help you manage everything.Â
Fastwording to 2024, your dreams have come true and you have been an established and respected artist for almost two years. You started to build a reputation as someone who was dedicated and passionate about their craft- always being involved in any creative process. It was bliss. Lately though, youâve gained another reputation, the controversial young girlfriend, a whore, a gold digger. Since youâve been in the spotlight, youâve had your fair share of dating history and if they all happened to be older men, so what? It wasnât something you had planned on but older men were just built differently. They were so much sexier and put together than the guys your age. They knew what they were doing and how to treat a woman right. You were so tired of being asked out through instagram direct messages, you wanted someone who wasnât afraid to talk to you in person, and that seemed to only come from men twice your age. You werenât complaining though, you enjoyed it.Â
Your last âscandalousâ relationship ended up being far more public than you intended it to be. In the beginning, the men you were seen with were never anything serious, just dates or one night stands. Though with Pedro it was different. You dated him for six months before it all came crashing down and you felt heartbroken. He was the sweetest man youâd ever been with and it all ended because the hate from fans on our age gap was too much for him. It was an ugly breakup and you were positive that he wouldnât want to be associated with you anymore, even as friends.Â
-
âI should have picked a different song.â You huff in frustration. Today you were going to be performing on BBCâs Radio 1 Live Lounge and as requested, you'd be performing your own song and a cover of your choosing. When Stacy first presented this opportunity to you, it had only been a month after your recent breakup and naturally you chose to cover âTHE GREATESTâ by Billie Eilish. Now that you were mostly over Pedro, the song seemed silly to sing and you werenât feeling as vocally confident now that you were here.Â
âBabe, youâre gonna kill it! Just let your emotions flow, give the fans what they want.â Stacy is sitting across the room as she comforts you. Sheâs fidgeting with your vocal humidifier, attempting to put it together before you start warming up. Her advice isnât terrible, sheâs right. Youâd been pretty silent on the subject matter, steering clear of social media so you wouldnât say anything stupid. Rumors of your breakup had been all over the headlines but there hasnât been confirmation from either of you. Singing this song today would definitely stir the pot again and make everyone realize that it is done between you two.Â
âYouâre right.âÂ
âAs always. Here, start warming up the money maker.â She laughs while handing you the humidifier.Â
âI really hope he doesnât watch it. Iâd literally smash my head into a brick wall out of embarrassmentâŠâÂ
Placing the humidifier over your mouth and nose, you sit there letting your mind wander. Having your personal life exposed to everyone really sucked and hiding your boyfriends wasnât something you wanted to do, but you knew that in the future it was something that would have to happen.Â
âI think Iâm taking a break from men.â You let out proudly, glancing over at Stacy.Â
âWhatever you say girl.â You could hear the doubt lingering in her tone and the roll of her eyes.Â
âUgh⊠You donât believe me do you? I can totally break off from men and be my own person for once.âÂ
âIâm not trying to doubt you babe. Itâs justâŠYou tend to attract men like a magnet and you have some severe daddy issues.â She's typing away on her laptop as if she didnât just completely disrespect you.Â
âI donât have daddy issues.â You say flatly. âI happen to have a very loving father who was always present in my life, so the whole dating older men thing does NOT stem from daddy issues. Thank you very much.â You say matter of factly.Â
âHm..Well I give it a week.âÂ
-
After a few sound checks for your mic and band, you perform your first song. You chose a more upbeat song off your debut album to start, given that you were about to lay your heart out of the line. It was honestly kind of awkward performing in this setting. There was a booth in front of you that had the sound board and all of the other electronic stuff that you didnât understand. Then right to the left of that, the cameras were positioned with a group of crew members sitting behind them. It always felt awkward performing to smaller audiences.Â
The first song went by smoothly, earning a few cheers from the people in the room. As the band prepared for the next song, you could see the door in the booth open and two figures walk in. You werenât wearing your glasses or contacts since it was supposed to be a short day, so you really couldnât make out who had just walked in. You assumed more workers came in and brushed it off.Â
âAll ready?â A man behind the camera asks and you give a thumbs up.Â
You somehow managed to get through the song without having any vocal mess ups. It was a challenging song and you'd definitely have to text Billie later to give her some credit. A few tears slipped here and there, feeling the emotions that you thought were gone slowly be released. You pulled yourself together and you felt really proud of the performance as a whole, showing the world the potential your voice had.Â
A few soft claps are dying out as everyone starts cleaning up the room. Youâre reaching down to grab your water bottle when you feel someone rushing up towards you.Â
âAhhh you did great babe but um two hot dudes will be walking through that door any second!â Stacy is whispering and all you could do was give her a confused look before the door opens. You squint trying to make out the two figures.Â
âGod youâre talented!â You hear the voice before you see the face.Â
âOh um, thank you so much.â You let out not really sure who you were speaking to. Once the two men get into view, your jaw drops slightly.Â
âHOLY SHIT!â You yell a little too loudly. Slapping your hand over your mouth, you hear a very rich man laugh coming from a very good looking man. For some reason, whoever is in charge of the fate of the universe has blessed you with the presence of Ryan Reynalds and Hugh Jackaman.Â
âOh my god iâm so sorry, thatâs literally so embarrassing. I just couldnât see who you were at first.âÂ
âItâs okay sweetheart.â They both wear big smiles on their faces.Â
âIâm y/n, itâs so nice to meet yâall, iâm a big fan!â You gush out, trying your best to refrain from fangirling.Â
âWeâre big fans as well. We were next door interviewing for the radio show, when we heard you were recording over here. We ran over here to try to catch you.â Ryan lets out.Â
âNo shit! Thatâs so cool. I really appreciate it.â Before the conversation could continue, Ryan is being called over by someone, leaving Hugh and yourself alone.Â
âHows Pedro, haven't seen him in awhile.â Hugh asks genuinely, giving you a small smile. It caught you off guard completely. You racked your brain trying to think of a time in your six month relationship that Pedro mentioned Hugh at all but nothing came up.Â
âOh I uh- I wouldnât know. We arenât together anymore.â Your voice is soft, trying not to make this any more awkward.Â
âShit. Iâm so sorry, with the way he spoke about you, I thought youâd be together longerâŠâ He trails off.Â
âYea me too.. he couldnât handle the heat I guess.â You shrug.Â
âWell, his loss yea?â He smiles trying to cheer you up.Â
âYea..â You say softly, your voice matching your smile. You take a moment to really look at him and heâs beyond handsome. Heâs aged but in a way that makes you wish you were able to see the years go by with him. He was tall, almost towering over you, and his muscles were practically popping out of his shirt.Â
The same guy that was walking to Ryan, gathers the three of you for a picture for the BBC socials. You stand in the middle, both men placing their arms behind either side of you. Hughâs hand was placed on the small of your back. You looked up at him quickly, his face already smiling at the camera. You hear the camera go off a few times, causing you to look that way as well. Once the cameraman was satisfied, everyone gave their goodbyes and the room cleared out.Â
-
Later that night you were scrolling through your phone when a text popped up from Stacy.Â
Stacypoo <33: I told you. You couldnât even go a week. ;)Â
The text is accompanied by a screenshot of a notification stating that ââthehughjackmanâ started following you!â. You rushed to open instagram and went to your followers to search from his name. You stared at his page for a few minutes before following him back.Â
While you had control over your own social media, someone handled all of your business related content. You went on your page to see that the picture that was taken at BBC earlier today was already posted with one comment standing out beyond the rest.Â
Thehughjackman: Great meeting you sweetheart! :)
Thank you for reading <3

Creator Spotlight: @mimimar
Hi! Iâm Michelle (Mimimar), an illustrator born and raised in Venezuela, currently based in Italy. I enjoy making colorful illustrations that reflect the things I love: fairy tales, fantasy, tenderness and queer (especially sapphic) stories. Occasionally, I also make paper dolls, comics and animatics. I have a lot of interest in book illustration and Iâm currently developing my own stories that I hope to share as an author-illustrator someday!
Check out our interview with Michelle below!
Did you originally have a background in art? If not, how did you start?
IÂ always enjoyed drawing when I was a kid, but it only became a hobby that I did almost every day when I was around 11. At first I only used traditional mediums, but I decided to make a serious effort to learn how to draw digitally when I was 15, and once I got the hang of it I never stopped!
I didnât go to art school so all of my learning was done through studying the tutorials and resources that other artists generously share on the internet and lots of practice / trial and error.
How do you want to evolve as a creator?
I want to do many things but what I want to do the most right now is work on books! I want to make art for other authorsâ stories and also my own stories as an author-illustrator. I want to grow as a storyteller and create art and stories that will really resonate with people emotionally. Iâm always striving to improve my skills as well.
I also really love dolls, so working on doll box art or as a doll designer is something I would love to do someday. I actually have been designing paper dolls on my Patreon for the past few months, itâs been a fun project that is still ongoing right now!
What is one habit you find yourself doing a lot as an artist?
Probably using a lot of purple! Itâs my favorite color so I find myself using it a lot. If I can find a way to sneak a little bit of purple into an illustration or a character design then I will.
Congratulations on finishing your Ivy Comic! Did the outcome turn out like how you expected or were there some unexpected bumps along the way?
Thank you! Itâs a project that I worked on very slowly in between other art because I wanted to really take my time with every spread and make each of them a fully detailed illustration. I thumbnailed the full comic before starting but I kept changing the sketch for the final spread until the very end! Overall Iâm really proud of the end result. I sprinkled a lot of hidden details in every page that I hope some of the readers will notice. For example: the meanings of the flowers in each page represent what the characters are feeling in that moment, and the colors of their wardrobe become gradually lighter as the story progresses to represent their emotions, as well as the changing of seasons.
Weâve noticed that you have created some amazing cover art for TGCF. Is there another series you would like to do something similar with?Â
That was another passion project that took some time to complete. Initially, I didnât intend for them to be specifically covers, it was just a series of illustrations based on the 5 books/main arcs of TGCF. But since they were well-received and I had people telling me they wish they could use them as covers for their books, I decided to rework them into dust jackets for the english translation of TGCF!
I havenât thought of any other specific series but I love doing cover art so maybe Iâll do something similar again in the future!
Whatâs your favorite part of your style? Why?
Iâve heard from other people that thereâs a delicate quality to my art, this is something that I like a lot! I like pretty things, fairytales and vibrant colors. I think all of these things probably reflect in the art I make as well.
If there is one thing you want your audience to remember about your work, what would it be?
I hope that they remember how it made them feel. Feelings and colors are the two things I give priority to in my work. Most of the time I like depicting tenderness, softness and emotional intimacy. If that could reach the viewer and stay with them it would make me very happy.Â
I make a lot of art with queer (mainly sapphic) themes because theyâre the kind of stories I personally like and want to see more of, so whenever people tell me that my art has helped them in their journey to discover and accept themselves, or that they see themselves and their partner in my art, it is always extremely meaningful to me. When art that I made to give myself comfort can provide comfort for others, no matter how small, it reminds me once again that despite any hardships art is genuinely worth pursuing.
Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?
So many artists! To name a few: I love @sakizoâs amazing eye for fashion and detail, @paneepsâ gorgeous style and striking colors, the sweetness of @bevsiâs art, @vickisighâs pretty colors and concepts, @idledeeâs warm and heartfelt art, @littlestpersimmonâs dreamy wonderful art, and @loish has been an inspiration for as long as I can remember.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing, Michelle! Be sure to check out their Tumblr blog over at @mimimar.

Thatâs My Girl
Summary: Bradley has been looking after you for longer than he can remember. Youâve always been his favorite person. So when some guy makes an unwelcomed move on you, that last thing heâs going to do is just sit back and watch it happen.
Pairing: Bradley âRoosterâ Bradshaw x Female Reader
Length: 6.7K
Warning: language, male chauvinism, allusions to smut, some angst with a happy ending
(author's note: this is a fic is set in the 'Like I Can' universe, however it can be read on it's own!
In hindsight, Bradley should have known how rowdy the crowd at the Hard Deck was going to be tonight.
Sailors fresh off a several months long deployment were always a boisterous bunch. But Sailors fresh from a deployment during San Diego Fleet Week were a different thing entirely.
The bar is packed and humid, even with the doors and windows opened for the Pacific breeze. Pennyâs old air conditioning unit might be on its last legs because Bradleyâs shirt is sticking to the skin of his back. Heâd nearly lost his mind when heâd seen that bead of sweat work its way down your neck and between your breasts when youâd pressed a kiss to his cheek and told him you were getting a refill and asked if he wanted anything.
Bradley really hoped youâd be up for leaving soon. He wouldnât mind taking a dip in the pool at your apartment. Or better yet, getting you to join him for a cool shower.
It wasnât the just the deep v of your tank top- or those sweet little embroidered flowers along the edges of it- that hand his fingers twitching to touch you. Although he liked those too.
It was that damn bow.
When Bradley had picked you up from your apartment earlier this evening and seen you wearing that, heâd given you a wolf whistle so loud it had caused your neighborâs dog to start barking.
Heâd taken advantage of your surprised laugh to back you up against your front door to get his mouth along the column of your neck. Heâs always been a big picture kind of guy. And he knew he wouldnât be satisfied until he was tugging open that bow between your breasts with his teeth.
Youâd all but sighed his name as your fingers tangled in his hair.
Bradley.
And just as heâd reached your collarbone, youâd pulled him back up to your mouth like you were going to kiss him and murmured Later against his lips before slipping past him, like the menace that you are, leaving him to chase after the trail of your perfume.
You knew what you were doing, that was for damn sure. Heâs always been a sucker for a bow. And for you.
Bradley had more than appreciated the extra sway youâd put in your hips just for him as you walked down your hallway towards the elevator. Heâd grinned to himself as he set off after you, because at the end of the night, his girlfriend would be coming home with him.
Earlier in the evening, Coyote had been fast to claim the cluster of tables that some Butterbars had left to close out their tabs, most likely onto their way to the next stop of many for the night. It was lucky timing, because thereâd been a nonstop steady stream of people making their way into the unofficial designated Naval watering hole for Fleet Week. There was a mix of civilians, Naval regulars who are stationed at North Island, and the visiting Sailors dressed in their uniforms on liberty. Bradley wasnât sure how many more bodies could be packed in until some of the worn wooden shingles of the bar started popping off.
The lively and loud atmosphere of Fleet Week was something that Bradley had typically enjoyed in the past. He liked seeing people cut loose and laugh as they swapped stories with their friends and families. And heâd been happy to do his part to add to the good times, having been pulled to the piano twice already.
Over the years heâd built up a curated collection crowd-pleasers for occasions just like this. Part peacocking, part coping. While heâs never been the type to shy away from being the center of attention, heâd also found it was easier to breathe in the spotlight. Because with everyoneâs eyes on him, it was impossible to feel alone.
So much has changed for him since getting permanently stationed in San Diego. And all for the better. That loneliness was a thing of the past, because now when he played, he was surrounded by all of his favorite people
But Bradley still ends his impromptu sets the same way he always has, with Jerry Lee Lewis. Only now he gets to sing it directly to the girl whoâd given him the sheet music to the song in the first place.
The same one, heâs realized, who hasnât returned back from getting her refill yet.
Bradley takes a quick glance around the corner of the bar theyâd laid claim too. Bob, Fanboy, and Payback were lounging against the side of the pool table chatting up some of the visiting Sailors, since there wasnât enough room to actually play a round without taking someone out with one of the cues. Coyote was leaning over the jukebox flipping through the albums with a pretty civilian who was out with her friends that heâd met and was clearly trying to impress. And Jake and Nat were seated with him at one of the tall round tables taking about the new Top Gun students, where your chair next to him was still empty.
Everyone was accounted for, except you.
There are so many people packed around the edges of the bar that it takes him a moment to find you. He thought maybe youâd been held up by Penny or Jimmy or some other familiar face, but he doesnât recognize the man who standing way too close to you. But the firm press of your lips tells him everything he needs to know.
He sees the next moment playout as if itâs in slow motion. Watching as you attempt to take a step back, only for the guy to wrap his hand around your wrist to keep you from moving away. Bradley sees you glance down at that hand on you, and back up at the stranger. He knows that look in your eyes as you shake out of his grip. You arenât just annoyed, youâre pissed.
Bradley slams his beer down and shoves his stool back.
He hears Jake curse behind him, âOh, shit.â
Chair legs screech against the wooden floor as his friends hustle to follow after him, but he doesnât wait for them to catch up.
Thereâs a trail of spilled cocktails and beers in his wake as he unapologetically weaves through the tightly crammed bodies that separate him from you. If anyone has an issue with him later, they can put a refill on his tab. But right now, his only goal is getting to you.
He doesnât slow for a second. He just struts right up and steps in between you and the other man.
âDo we have an issue here?â he rasps, folding his arms over his chest.
Bradley takes the guy in with a hard glower. The name tape on his uniform reads Wilson. A LTJG, based on his shoulder boards, from one of the visiting ships. The man is big, but Bradley is bigger. And he outranks him. The guy might not know it yet, but it was just another thing he was planning on making crystal clear.
You put a hand on his tense shoulder. âEverything is fine.â
âIt sure as shit doesnât seem fine.â He doesnât take his glare off of Wilson. âI think itâs time for you to go now.â He jerks his chin towards the front door.
âWeâre just having a friendly conversation,â the other man drawls, sending him a wink. The implied innuendo makes Bradleyâs jaw clench. There wasnât anything âfriendlyâ about the way heâd been using his size to keep you trapped at the bar.
The guy is trashed. Thereâs a blankness behind his eyes that Bradley doesnât like the look of. He must have pre-gamed before going out because Penny and Jimmy werenât ones to overserve.
âNo, what youâre doing is paying your tab and leaving this bar.â Itâs an order.
âBradley.â You say his name like a warning. âIâm handling it.â
You pull on his shoulder, but he shrugs you off.
âNo, kid, Iâm handling it for you.â This asshole was Bradleyâs problem to deal with now. Heâd tapped in the moment heâd seen the man touch you.
âI see.â Wilsonâs gaze bounces back and forth between the two of you, an oily grin appears on his face. âYouâve already got someone for tonight lined up. Damn, you didnât waste any time did you, sweet thing?â
Anger flares hot and bright in his stomach.
âYou better watch your mouth,â Bradley spits, pointing a threatening finger.
The bar around him blurs around the edges, but the man in front of him only gets sharper in focus.
You step around him and tug on his arm. From the corner of his eye, he can see you shaking your head at him. âBradley, stop. I told you, Iâve got it.â Your voice is clipped, tight. âLet me take care of it.â
He knows you want for him to let it go. To back off. And heâs about to- for you- because you want him to. But then he sees the guyâs eyes drop down to the exposed skin of your chest- to that bow between your breasts- and smirks.
Itâs a look so filthy that even Bradley feels dirty. He operates out of instinct. Stretching his arm in front of you, he purposefully pushes you back behind him to where he knows Seresin is standing close by, trusting that his friend will move you out of the way.
âA barrack bunny like you must know her way around. I donât mind another manâs sloppy-â
For a moment, Bradley isnât at the Hard Deck anymore. Heâs standing in Jason Cameronâs kitchen, where the smell of weed and cheap alcohol and Axe hung heavy in the air.
Bradleyâs fist flies on its own.
He barely registers the moment his knuckles connect with the other manâs jaw. He doesnât see the man stumble backwards into the table behind him. He doesnât hear the surprised gasps or the sound of glass breaking or the thud as the man hits the floor. Thereâs only the color red and the sound of his own ragged breathing.
When he shakes off the memory and returns back to his body, heâs almost surprised to see the broken bottles on the floor and not shards from a sliding glass door.
The next few minutes are a flurry of chaos as Wilsonâs friends come and scoop him off the floor to make their exit. From the looks of irritation on their faces, it seems like this might be an all too frequent occurrence. He makes a mental note to try and look up the manâs supervising officer. And if he canât find them on his own, heâll ask Mav to help.
He can feel dozens of eyes on him, but he canât bring himself to care.
Bradley takes a moment to apologize to Penny. He avoids looking directly in her eyes, not wanting to see the disappointment heâs sure is there. The adrenaline is still coursing and sparking through his body. He needs a moment to work off his anger and get his head back on straight before he comes to check on you. But he knows youâre in good hands with his friends.
Without being asked, he rights the table and stools on his way to the supply closet to grab a broom and dustpan. He takes his time meticulously picking up the bits of broken glass off the ground before he sweeps the rest of it up as he waits for his heartrate to settle back down.
When heâs done, he spots Nat and Jake sitting at the bar top and heads towards them. But for the second time tonight, youâre not where you should be.
âThat was some left hook, Bradshaw,â Nat says, pinning him with a flat look over the top of her drink.
He ignores the comment. âHave either of you seen my girlfriend?â
Jake lifts his hand up at about your height. âAbout this tall? Great smile? Dating a man thatâs clearly punching?â He chuckles to himself. âNo pun intended.â Those dimples of his are more grating than usual.
Bradleyâs hand flexes in irritation. His quick fuse is on its way to being lit again.
âSeresin,â he barks, low on patience, âWhereâd she go?â
The other man lets out a low whistle and shares a look with Nat. âShe left out the side patio door like ten minutes ago. Looked like she was about to spit nails too.â
âGoddammit,â he mumbles under his breath. He turns to Phoenix. âDid she really look that pissed?â
She shrugs. âIâm surprised she didnât punch you, I probably would have.â
Bradleyâs mouth drops open. âFor what? For defending her?â
All he did tonight was stand up for you when someone crossed a line and tried to get physical with you. He wasnât ashamed for doing it, heâd do it again in a heartbeat.
âBut did she want you to do that?â she asks, deliberately.
He doesnât understand why Nat is giving him a hard time about this.
âThatâs my girl and that guy wasnât listening.â
Nat lifts a pointed eyebrow at him, âSounds familiar.â
Bradley forces out a breath. âThat was different and you know it.â
âAll Iâm saying is I think she was making herself pretty clear, but you chose not to hear her and did what you wanted anyways.â His teeth clench together as a rock lands hard in his stomach. âAnd from the sound of it, she wanted to handle it her own way.â
âYeah, butâŠâ Youâre his, he wants to say, but holds back at the risk of sounding like the jealous boyfriend Nat thinks heâs being. Except he wasnât being jealous, he just wanted to protect you.
âNo buts, Rooster. You fucked up.â
Nat has always been a straightshooter. It was one of the things heâs always appreciated most about her, that and her keen ability to read people. He trusted her judgement. And if she feels this way, even if he didnât necessarily agree with it, then the chances are very high that you do too.
âShit.â
âYeah, âshitâ. Now go fix it.â She pats his shoulder once, and then gives him a shove to the side door theyâd seen you leave from.
Itâs cooler outside.
The ocean breeze feels good on his hot, sticky skin. Bradley feels like he can breathe a little easier without all those people milling around him.
Youâre not hard to spot. To anyone else youâd a solidary figure facing the ocean, but heâd know the shape of you anywhere.
From what Seresin said, Bradley had figured youâd be half way down the beach. Heâd been planning just to follow the trail of steam to find you. But youâre still as a statue with your arms wrapped around yourself as you stare out at the inky waves.
The noise from the bar is muffled inside the walls of the Hard Deck, but still slips out from the windows that are cracked open and follows him as he walks towards you. The sand shifts beneath his shoes with every step he takes. The tunes from Pennyâs jukebox get carried away on the wind and are replaced with the gentle roar of the waves as he approaches you.
The days are getting longer and dusk is rolling in. The sun is hanging low in the sky. Not quite set, but well on its way. Heâd love nothing more than to pull you into his lap in one of the Adirondack chairs to watch the last glimmering moments of golden hour with you in his arms. But knows thatâs probably not in the cards for tonight.
The two of you have had fights before. Usually over stupid, inconsequential things. Arguing with you feels different now than when it did when you were just friends. Now that youâre his girlfriend, it feels like thereâs more at stake. He knew heâd never forgive himself if he fumbled the best thing thatâs ever happened to him.
Bradley wants to skip over this part to where the two of you are back on the same page. He wants to skip to the part where he gets to see your dimples and hear you laugh.
He stops just a few feet behind you. He knows you know heâs there, in that uncanny way youâve always been able to sense him. The minutes tick by as he stands there and waits for you to acknowledge him. Or to turn around and shoot him that withering glare of yours. Heâd take anything other than your silence.
But you donât.
You give him nothing, which is almost worse.
It feels like a standoff.
He folds first.
âSweet girl,â Bradley says, with a resigned sigh.
He doesnât miss the way your whole body tenses at the sound of his voice.
âI donât want to talk to you right now, Rooster.â
The way you say his callsign lands like a punch in the gut.
Youâre only standing a few feet away from him, but it feels like the two of you are miles apart.
âCâmon, kid, that asshole is gone now. Come back inside.â
âSeriously?â you laugh bitterly, still refusing to look at him. âYouâre seriously going to ignore me right now too? I said I donât want to talk right now.â
He feels his jaw tick. âLook, Iâm sorry,â he starts, still not feeling sorry in the least, âBut-â
You put a hand up and whirl on him, shaking your head in disbelief. The thunderous look on your face would have a lesser man taking a step back, instead Bradley steels his spine and digs his feet into the sand. Â
âI really donât want to hear it. I donât think Iâve ever been this mad at you,â you fume. âNot even in high school when you got in that stupid fucking fight at that Homecoming party when I had to take you to the hospital.â
He presses his lips together firmly. There was a time and place for a conversation about that night, the one where heâd earned the scars on his face, but it wasnât here and now. It was a secret heâd kept to himself for nearly two decades, the only other person whoâd known the full story was his mom. But telling you about it now would only make things worse.
You continue, like a freight train without brakes, âAnd youâd been drunk then. Not that that excuses anything. But youâve had, what? Two beers tonight?â When you lift your eyebrows at him expectantly, he nods curtly in confirmation. âSo tell me what the hell just happened in there?â
He swears that sharp flash of your eyes could cut glass. Â A lick of heat bursts behind his sternum. Hot and fierce.
âHe wasnât backing off,â Bradley grits out, trying to summon the patience he doesnât have. âWhat was I supposed to do? Give him a pat on the back and let him keep hitting on my girlfriend?â You scoff and he feels his pulse kick up in his throat. âI have always had your back, and I will always have your back.â
Bradley doesnât understand why you donât seem to understand that heâd do anything for you. Heâs been looking out for you since your bike handlebars had iridescent tassels streaming from them, and if he has his way heâll be looking out for you until his number is up.
âBut thatâs the thing, Rooster! You didnât have my back in there,â you argue, stepping forward so youâre toe to toe with him. Your use of his callsign again chafes against his ears like sandpaper. âAll you did was manhandle me out of the way to get at him and throw fists. I mean, Mav and Hondo would have let it slide if theyâd been there to see that. But what about Cyclone? Would he? Why would you put your career at risk like that? What were you even thinking?â
Youâre looking at him like you donât know him, and he hates it. Because youâre the person who knows him best.
He runs a hand through his hair in agitation. Heâs been trying to tame his temper, that caged animal that paced within the confines of the ribs in his chest. But his anger and frustration has been feeding off of yours, meeting it measure for measure.
âI wasnât. I wasnât thinking,â Bradley explodes, flinging his arms out to the side. âIâm not going to stop and make a damn pros and cons list while I watch some asshole being disrespectful and getting physical with you. Itâs not going to happen, kid.â
âAnd I told you that I had it handled!â you exclaim.
The sound of the waves gets lost in the way both of your voices are raising with each and every parry in the verbal fencing match youâve found yourselves in. This has escalated quicker than he ever could have expected, and all he wants is to find himself back on the same page with you.
âHow am I the bad guy in all of this right now?â
âDonât you get it? Iâm not mad about you wanting you to be there for me, Iâm mad about how you went about it. You literally pushed me out of the way and passed off to Jake, like my voice and feelings in that moment didnât matter to you. Like you didnât care about what I wanted. You have never treated me like that before.â
Guilt makes his stomach churn.
âYou and I both know thatâs not true,â he replies. Itâs an uncomfortable truth.
That dark period after his mom died and how heâd treated you still haunted him sometimes. When heâd try to set fire to all the bridges around him, including his friendship with you. He hadnât been worth knowing back then, but youâd never given up on him. He remembers it like it was yesterday, heâs never forgotten it. On the nights he couldnât sleep, it was one of the many things that played out behind his eyelids like a highlight reel of all his worst moments.
Your eyebrows pinch together in confusion. He sees the moment it clicks for you because the fire that had been blazing behind those eyes he knows so well transforms into something softer. Something sadder.
âBradley, Iâm not going to hold onto something from when you were eighteen and hurting and heartbroken.â Your voice catches with emotion. âBut tonight? Tonight, you made me feel small. And youâre the very last person I thought whoâd ever make me feel that way.â
He canât even enjoy hearing you say his name again, because you look so disappointed in him. The two of you stand there staring at each other, searching each otherâs eyes as the waves rolling in along the shore fill the silence.
The way your lower lip wobbles steals the fight right out of him. All that righteous indignation that had been whirling in his chest is gone quicker than it came over him at the sight of the tears welling up along your lower lash line.
Heâd let you down back then. And heâd let you down tonight too. He feels like heâs broken a promise to you, one heâd made with himself a longtime ago. Bradley wants to be the man whose shoulders you could lean on, the one you trusted to bet there to support you. He never thought heâd be the guy who makes you cry.
Bradley says your name tenderly. Every single letter of it is precious to him because youâre the most important person in the world to him.
The single tear that escapes the corner of your eye and rolls down your face cracks his chest wide open.
He holds out his hand for you, but you half-heartedly bat it away.
âNo, Iâm still mad at you,â you say, feebly. Itâs unconvincing at best.
âYou can be mad at me, kid,â Bradley murmurs, âBut just let me hold you.â
He needs to know that youâll still let him. That you still want him.
Bradley reaches out for you again and this time you let him pull you into his chest. And when you thread your arms around his torso and hold him just as tight that knot in his stomach loosens. He rests his chin on your head and releases a sigh. With you in his arms, he feels like his feet are finally back on solid ground.
He knows he owes you an apology, a real one this time. He knows that heâs fucked up, he understands where he went wrong. But he canât shake the feeling that he feels like heâs missing something, that thereâs another reason playing into why youâre so upset.
Every one of your quiet sniffles twists the knife thatâs lodged itself between his ribs just a bit more each time.
He doesnât know how long the two of you stand there wrapped up in each other, as he runs his hand up and down your back. Thereâs more to discuss, but he doesnât rush you. Heâll hold you for as long as you need him to.
When you pull away, only far enough to look up at him, he takes the opportunity to gently cup your face in his hands. His thumb skims along the line of your jaw, your eyes are still watery.
âSweet girl, why are you crying? I know you. Why does it feel like thereâs more to this than just me being an idiot?â he asks, quietly. It still feels so fragile between the two of you.
âBecause I l-like you so much. And I know you meant well, but I hated what happened tonight.â You wipe angrily at the fresh tears that streak down your face, like youâre irritated at them for them falling without your permission. Â âMy ex used to pull that kind of bullshit all the time and I always hated the way it made me feel.â
His hands fall from your face.
Your confession surprises him. âJack?â Bradley asks, his eyebrows pulling together. You nod. âI thought you said he was fine? That the break up was mutual because things got stale between the two of you.â
Itâs times like this where heâs reminded of just how much distance there between the two of you over the last decade before you moved to San Diego. Of how much of you heâs missed out on. All the little moments that made up someoneâs life. There was only so much an email, or a text, or a call could do.
You sigh, heavily. âIâm realizing now that there were a lot of things I put up with Jack because I didnât want to rock the boat.â
Bradleyâs fingers flex involuntarily where his hands are resting your hips. He doesnât know what to make of that admission.
âYou got to give me more than that to work with, kid. Help me to understand.â
You run you hand along his forearm soothingly, like you can sense his unease. He slides his thumbs through the loops of your jeans, fixing himself to you.
âJack was really good about wanting to show everyone that he was a good boyfriend. And he was- for a while.â You pause, pressing your lips together. âBut there were a few times where weâd go out and heâd make a scene, like what happened tonight. Except instead of someone being an actual asshole, itâd be someone whoâd started up some polite small talk with me as we waited in line. And it always became a bigger thing than it needed to be. Then afterwards, heâd make it seem like he was defending my honor or something, even though he knew I didnât like the kind of attention and all the looks that came with it afterwards. But Jack was always about Jack, and he liked the hero edit his friends would give him.â
You look away from him towards the ocean, the sunset paints you golden. Bradley knows youâre collecting your thoughts, so he waits. When youâre ready, you turn back towards him. Thereâs a different kind of hurt reflected in your eyes, one that tells him tonight has opened up old wounds for you.
âHeâd say all the right things around other people, but when it was just the two of us alone, I never got that side of him. At the time I believed he was saying them because he meant them, but I can see now that he never really showed me that he meant them. I took his words at face value and settled for them.â
You give him a self-conscious shrug. Like youâre embarrassed. But your big heart was one of the things he loved most about you, and he hated the idea that someone had been careless with it before it made it into his safekeeping.
Bradley swallows hard. That tonight reminded you of the low points in your past relationship is hard for him to hear. And knowing why, makes it even worse.
âI think, more than anything,â you continue, your voice much quieter now, âIâm just mad that I let myself get lost in that for so long. Like I knew I needed more and that I wanted more, but I kept putting him ahead of myself when he wasnât doing that for me.â
You thread your fingers between his and squeeze them lightly. He squeezes yours back.
âBut you, Bradley, say the right things and mean them. You show me how important I am to you, with or without an audience. No one has ever made me feel as special as you do. Like, you donât buy me red roses because you think you should-â
âWait,â he doesnât mean to cut you off, but his mind has snagged on a critical detail, âI thought your favorite flowers were tulips?â
A soft smile coasts over your pretty face. âThey are.â He loves the warm way youâre looking at him right now, tender and fond. âAnd thatâs what Iâm talking about. You show me all the ways you know me because you care about me and want to make me happy. You donât treat me like Iâm an accessory in your life. I mean, I didnât feel like I could even hang art on the walls of the apartment I paid half the rent for without Jack having an opinion on it. And here you are letting me bring over kitchen towels and plants for you, and we donât even live together yet.â
Yet. Such a small word, but it means so much to know that youâre envisioning the same future with him that he sees with you.
âI like that you do that. I want you to do that. I appreciate the way you show me youâre thinking about me too.â Bradley runs his thumbs over the back of your hands. âAlthough, Iâd rather be the one buying them,â he says, only partly teasing.
You made his house feel like a home. He hadnât had that in so long. He wanted you to have things there in his condo that you also liked and made you happy because he wanted you to stay. He couldnât wait for the day the two of you shared one address instead of two.
âDoes that mean I should return the throw pillows I found for you?â He spots a wink of your dimples. âTheyâre soft, but firm enough that you wonât hurt your neck when you inevitably fall asleep on the couch even though you claim youâre just âresting your eyesâ.â He never wants you to stop teasing him.
âNo,â Bradley chuckles. âThey sound perfect, but youâre going to let me Venmo you for them.â
âOk, fine,â you agree. Almost reluctantly.
God, he loves you.
He leans in to kiss you. Once. Twice. Soft, sweet.
Bradley lets go of one of your hands to settle on your lower back and press you closer to him, until thereâs no space between your two bodies. And brings the other one, with your fingers still tangled with his up against his chest. Before resting his forehead against yours.
âIâm so sorry I made you feel like that tonight.â
âThank you, I forgive you.â You set the hand not entwined with his on the side of his face, your thumb sweeps across his cheek. âBut I need you to hear me when I say that I can hold my own just fine, Bradley. I know you want to have my back and look out for me, but please, just not like that. Even if your heart is in the right place, ok?â
He nods. âI hear you, sweet girl. Itâs not going to happen again. I promise.â He turns his head and presses a kiss to your palm. And then lifts the one still in his up to his lips, and drops a kiss to the back it.
âPlus, you taught me how to throw a punch, remember? Iâm pretty sure I broke a guyâs nose one time,â you grin.
âAtta girl,â he says with pride. Itâs so much lighter between the two of you now. He takes a couple step back, letting go of you and giving you a not-so-subtle onceover. âOk, hot shot, show me what you got.â Beckoning you over with both hands.
âIâm not going to punch you, Bradley.â
âCâmon, kid, show me how itâs done.â
You shake your head at him in amused disbelief. âYouâre not going to let this go, are you?â
âNo maâam.â He taps his finger on his abs. âLetâs see it.â
You roll your eyes at him fondly. Then you hook your thumb over the top of your fist, just like he showed you all those years ago. And you ever so slowly, ever so gently press your perfectly aligned fist into his stomach. It could hardly even be considered a graze.
He doubles over with an overexaggerated oof and then tilts his head up at you and winks with a smile.
âYouâre ridiculous.â The sound of your laugh fills his lungs.
Itâs the same sound when heâd toss you into the pool when you were twelve. Itâs the same sound when heâd spin you on the big tire swing when you were fourteen. Itâs the same sound when he twirled you around the dance floor when you were nineteen at your momâs second wedding.
Thereâs not just a glimmer of your dimples anymore, the full force of them hits him right in the chest.
âSpeaking of punching,â Bradley says, straightening back up. âHangman thinks Iâm punching up.â
âOh, does he? Interesting,â you hum. Your eyes shine in amusement.
He grins. âHeâs not wrong. Youâre way out of my league.â
You softly shake your head at him. âIâm just right for you. And youâre just right for me.â
He couldnât agree more, but you donât give him the chance too because youâre threading your arms around his neck and pulling his mouth to yours. With you in his arms and his lips on yours, he feels whole. You werenât just right for him, you were perfect for him. And heâd never stop trying to be the perfectly right man for you.
No oneâs ever had him, not like the way you do.
Youâd always had a special place in his heart, but now the whole thing belonged to you. It was yours for the taking. He knew it would be in good hands with you, and he wasnât going to stop proving to you that he was the one to be trusted with yours.
âDo you want me to take you home or do you want to go back inside?â He asks against your lips.
You kiss him again. âLetâs go back,â you say, wrapping your arm around his waist. âYou owe me a dance, you know.â
He drops an arm over your shoulder. âI do?â
âYou do.â
âWell then, lead the way, sweet girl.â
After he twirls you around on the crowded makeshift dancefloor of the Hard Deck, you let him take you home. Where he apologizes to you again, but this time on his knees with your thigh thrown over his shoulder. And twice more in your bed for good measure.
But not before he got his teeth on that little bow of yours.
He never stood a chance against it.

Bradley is about to line up his next shot at the pool table when Jake saddles up and nudges his shoulder.
âLooks like your girl has an admirer.â Hangman points with his beer bottle, directing Bradleyâs gaze to the bar where someone is chatting you up.
He recognizes him from the most recent batch of Top Gun students. To call him overconfident would be an understatement. The guy is clearly as full of himself on the ground as he is in the sky, based on his body language as he monologues to you, all puffed up chest and cocky smiles.
If the guy had any common sense, heâd see that you look like youâd rather be anywhere else. Itâs written all over your face.
âSo it seems,â Bradley agrees, rests a hip against the table.
Heâd noticed the guy checking you out. But it was pretty ballsy of the aviator to be leaning into you the way that he is, considering the two of you had arrived together and that Bradley had been the one tasked with doing some demonstration trainings with them earlier in the week.
The man makes some big gestures with his hands, heâs clearly reached the part of his story thatâs meant to impress you. Bradley chuckles to himself when he sees the less than subtle roll of your eyes.
âAre you going to go all Rocky Balboa on his ass?â Jake asks with a knowing smirk.
You must feel their eyes on you, because you glance over in their direction.
He knows you can handle yourself, but heâll be there if you want him to be.
Bradley lifts his eyebrow in a silent question. You give him a slight shake of your head and he nods.
âNah, sheâs got it.â
He sees the moment the guy fucks up and oversteps, because your eyebrows shoot up. Youâre his sweet girl, but he knows the other guy is in for it when look that promises the best kind of trouble settles over your face.
His favorite menace.
Bradley watches on as you lean over the counter and ring the bell with enthusiasm.
A cheer goes up throughout the bar. He brings his fingers up to his lips and lets out a loud whistle.
You look rightfully smug as Penny points out the wooden sigh strung up between the beer taps to the confused Top Gun student whose bank account will be hurting in the morning.
âDamn. I forgot the kid is a straight hustler,â Jake says, clearly impressed.
âShe sure is,â Bradley grins, still looking at you, âItâs a good thing she likes you or youâd be screwed.â He pats Jakeâs shoulder reassuringly, before pressing the cue into his hands.
You return a few minutes later, with a tray of frothy, freshly poured beers for everyone wearing an all-to-pleased grin that lights up the whole bar.
He waits until the beers are safely on the table before threading a finger through your beltloop and tugging him to you.
âThatâs my girl.â
Bradley tilts your face up for a kiss. Itâs not his best work, youâre making it difficult for him since youâre too busy smiling.
He wouldnât have it any other way.

You and Lando had been navigating the delicate waters of the talking stage for several months, sharing countless late-night conversations and laughter that echoed through the quiet of your respective rooms.
Each message exchanged felt like a step closer, yet there was an unspoken tension lingering in the air, a sense that something significant was just out of reach.
Lando's impressive third win filled him with an exhilarating sense of triumph. As he stood on the podium, basking in the cheers and flashing cameras, he could almost taste the sweet taste of success.
However, amidst the euphoria, a realization washed over him, an emptiness that he couldn't ignore.
It was you, being his girlfriend, who was missing from the celebration, and the thought gnawed at him.
The absence of your presence cast a shadow over the victory that was otherwise so overwhelming. Lando couldn't help but feel incomplete, knowing that you were the one he wanted to share this milestone with.
The exhilaration of the win was dulled by the ache of knowing that you were missing out on the shared joy and celebration.
Without you by his side, Lando's victory felt hollow and incomplete. He had poured his heart and soul into achieving this milestone, knowing that your support meant the world to him.
But without you there to witness it, to witness his hard work and perseverance paying off, the victory felt less meaningful.
Lando couldn't help but replay in his mind the late-night conversations and laughter he and you had shared, each memory reminiscent of a time when he felt complete and whole.
Those moments fueled his determination and pushed him to work harder, but now, as he basked in the spotlight, he couldn't help but long for the presence of the person who had meant so much to him.
Lando knew that he couldn't control whether or not you were able to attend his victories, but he couldn't help but wish for the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with you.
He longed for the day when he could celebrate with you by his side, when the cheering crowd and the flashing cameras would serve as a backdrop to a beautiful and loving partnership.
As Lando stood there on the podium, amidst the deafening cheers and applause, he couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him and for you.
He knew that he couldn't suppress his feelings any longer, and he vowed to find a way to bridge the gap between the two of you.
The tension between the talking stage and something more had always been palpable, but now, Lando realized that he couldn't move forward without addressing it head-on.
He knew that he couldn't continue to navigate these delicate waters without risking the potentiality of losing you altogether.
With a heavy heart, Lando decided to take the first step, to reach out and let you know how much you meant to him, even in the face of uncertainty. . . .
Later that evening, Lando found himself pacing in his hotel room, the trophy gleaming on the table, but his heart was heavy. He picked up his phone, hesitating for a moment before dialing your number.
When you answered, your voice was a soothing balm to his racing thoughts. "Hey, Lando! Congratulations on the win! I saw the highlights; you were incredible!" you exclaimed, your excitement evident.
He smiled, but it quickly faded as he replied, "Thanks, but it doesnât feel complete without you here. I thought about you the whole time. I really wish you could have been there to celebrate with me."
You could hear the sincerity in his voice, and it made your heart flutter. "I wish I could have been there too. I was cheering for you from home, you know that!" you said, trying to lighten the mood.
Lando sighed, "I know, but itâs just not the same. I want you by my side, sharing these moments. You mean so much to me, and I think itâs time we stop just talking and start being something more."
His words hung in the air, heavy with meaning, and you felt a rush of emotions.
"Lando, take a deep breath and sit down," you instructed, and Lando listened without hesitation. He settled onto the edge of the bed, the weight of his emotions pressing down on him.
"I need you to know that I care about you deeply too. But let's take it one step at a time, okay? We need to be honest with ourselves and each other about what we want and how we feel."
Lando nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "You're right. I just didn't want to waste any more time pretending that what we have wasn't special. I want to build something real with you."
You smiled, your heart swelling with hope. "We'll figure this out together, Lando. No rushing, no pressureâjust us, exploring what we could be."
For the first time in a long while, Lando felt a sense of calm, knowing that he wasn't alone in his feelings.
"I love how you know how to calm me down," Lando muttered, looking at your face on the screen.
His eyes softened as he took in your reassuring smile, feeling a warmth spread through him. "It's like you always know exactly what to say to make everything better."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words. "That's because I care about you, Lando. And I want us to be happy, whatever that looks like for us." The two of you continued to talk about the race that he just won and he taught you some of the rules of the sport.
As the night wore on, the distance between you seemed to shrink, and Lando felt more certain than ever that together, you could face anything. . . .
It was the inaugural week of the much-anticipated long break, and you had made the decision to visit Lando, a choice that filled both of you with excitement. It had been weeks since you last saw each other in person, and the anticipation of reuniting was palpable.
As you made your way to the airport, Lando was a bundle of nerves, standing in front of the mirror in his room, adjusting his collar repeatedly as if it would somehow ease his anxiety.
Charles, his ever-watchful friend, leaned against the doorframe, a smirk playing on his lips as he observed Lando's frantic preparations.
"You know, mate, youâre acting like youâre about to meet the Queen or something," Charles chuckled, his voice dripping with playful sarcasm.
Lando shot a quick glance at Charles, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I know, but I just want everything to be perfect. I mean, sheâs coming all this way, and I want to make a good impression," he replied, his voice tinged with a mix of excitement and dread.
The thought of you arriving filled him with both joy and a hint of panic. He was supposed to pick you up from the airport, and the only thing he was waiting for was the message that would signal your arrival.
"Itâs not like itâs the first time youâre meeting her," Charles teased, crossing his arms and leaning back against the wall, clearly enjoying Landoâs discomfort.
"Yeah, but still," Lando muttered, turning to face Charles, his hands fidgeting with the collar of his shirt. "I want her to see me at my best."
Charles couldnât help but laugh, shaking his head. "Honestly, mate, if sheâs still talking to you after all this time, I think youâve already made a pretty good impression."
Lando, unable to suppress a grin, playfully punched Charles on the shoulder. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, but Iâm still going to be a nervous wreck until I see her."
The banter continued, but deep down, both friends knew that this reunion was going to be something special, a moment they had both been waiting for.
"Do you think there's something special brewing between you two in the future?" Charles inquired, his curiosity evident in his tone. He leaned back in his chair, a playful smirk dancing on his lips as he watched Lando's expression shift.
Lando's eyes sparkled with a mix of hope and uncertainty, and he took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding. "Honestly, I really hope so. She's not like anyone else I've ever dated," he replied, a soft smile spreading across his face.
"She has this quiet strength about her, always listening to my problems, but she can also be so lively and chatty. And when she smiles, those dimples of hers just light up the room. I find myself wanting to see her smile all the time. Itâs like she has this incredible ability to make everything feel right. And donât even get me started on how smart she is; I often wonder why she even bothers with a guy like me."
Just as Lando was about to delve deeper into his feelings, a notification chimed from his phone, interrupting his train of thought.
He quickly reached for it, his heart racing with anticipation. The message was from you, simply stating, "I'm landing now, see you soon! <3"
A wave of excitement washed over him, and he couldn't help but grin.
"See, mate? The moment you start talking about her, all your worries just fade away," Charles said, his grin widening as he nudged Lando playfully. "Youâve got to go get her. This could be the start of something amazing."
"You're right, I should," Lando replied, his voice filled with newfound determination. He quickly grabbed his suit, the fabric crumpling slightly in his hands as he rushed to the door. "Thanks for the push, Charles. I really appreciate it."
With a final glance back at his friend, Lando felt a surge of confidence. He was ready to embrace whatever the future held with her, knowing that this moment could be the beginning of something truly special.
As he dashed out, the anticipation of seeing her again filled him with a warmth that made him forget all his insecurities.
Lando slid into the driverâs seat of his car, the engine purring to life as he navigated through the bustling streets toward the airport. The anticipation bubbled within him, a mix of excitement and nerves as he thought about seeing you again.
Once he arrived, he parked and made his way inside, where he found a cozy spot to wait. Time seemed to stretch as he glanced at the arrivals board, his heart racing at the thought of your imminent arrival. Soon enough, he spotted the familiar figures emerging from the terminal, and his breath caught in his throat when his eyes finally locked onto yours.
You looked stunning, a vision in a sleek black dress that hugged your figure perfectly, complemented by a small coat that added an air of elegance against the chilly backdrop.
As you approached, Lando couldnât help but notice the way you seemed slightly nervous under his gaze, your suitcase rolling behind you as you made your way closer. The moment felt electric, and he found himself momentarily lost in the depths of your eyes.
âLando? Earth to Lando?â you teased, breaking the spell that had momentarily held him captive.
He blinked, shaking off the daze, and blurted out, âYou look beautiful.â The words slipped out before he could think, genuine admiration shining through.
A soft blush crept across your cheeks as you replied, âOh, thank you, Lando. You look handsome too.â
Your smile was infectious, and he couldnât help but mirror it, feeling warmth spread across his face as he realized just how much you affected him.
After a few moments of shared smiles and lingering glances, Lando finally broke the silence. âLet me take your bag,â he offered, his voice steady despite the fluttering in his chest.
He reached for your suitcase, gently taking it from your hand and replacing it with his own, their fingers intertwining in a sweet gesture that felt both natural and exhilarating.
âIâve missed you,â he admitted, his eyes searching yours for a hint of how you felt. âI missed you too,â you replied, your voice soft yet filled with sincerity.
"Congratulations on your win," you said as the two of you left the airport, your voice carrying a mix of pride and excitement.
Lando's eyes sparkled at your words, the acknowledgment of his recent achievement making his chest swell with joy. "Thank you," he responded, his tone humble yet filled with gratitude. "Though I wish you were there to celebrate with me."
As you walked side by side, the bustling noise of the airport fading into the background, Lando couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of contentment.
"Well, I'm here now," you said with a playful smile, "Do you have anything planned?" Lando's eyes lit up with excitement as he opened the door for you, his hand gently guiding you into the waiting car.
"Yeah, but we have to make a quick stop first," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of mystery.
As the car sped away from the airport, you couldn't help but feel a thrill of anticipation. You glanced over at Lando, who was now staring out the window, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"Where are we going?" you asked, curiosity getting the better of you. He turned to you, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
"You'll see," was all he said, leaving you to wonder what surprises lay ahead.
The car soon pulled up to a familiar street, and your curiosity only grew as you recognized Lando's neighborhood. As the vehicle came to a halt in front of his house, you looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Why are we here?" you asked, but he just smiled and opened the car door, holding out his hand to help you out.
"Trust me," he said simply, his eyes twinkling with a secret only he knew.
Your confusion slowly turned to excitement as he led you up the steps and into his home. The moment you stepped inside, you were greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance of the living room.
On the coffee table sat a beautifully wrapped gift and a bouquet of your favorite flowers as well as all of your favourite books.
"I wanted to give you something special before our adventure," Lando said, his voice soft and filled with genuine affection.
"Aww, Lando, you shouldn't have," you muttered, your voice mingling with shock and gratitude as you took in the thoughtful array of gifts.
You knew how much time, effort, and money must have gone into arranging all of this, and it made your heart swell with appreciation.
Overwhelmed by the gesture, you stepped closer and placed a gentle kiss on Lando's cheek, watching as his face turned a delightful shade of red.
"Well, I wanted to make sure you knew how much you mean to me," he said, his eyes meeting yours with an earnest sincerity that made your heart flutter.
"You mean the world to me, Lando," you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion. "This is the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me. I can't believe you went through all this trouble just to make me happy."
You wrapped your arms around him in a tight embrace, feeling the warmth of his body against yours and savoring the moment.
Lando hugged you back just as tightly, his breath hot against your ear as he murmured, "I'd do anything to see you smile like this."
As you pulled back slightly to look into his eyes, you could see the depth of his feelings reflected there. The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in that perfect, intimate moment.
After the embrace, the air between you and Lando crackled with an unspoken tension. You could feel the warmth radiating from his body, and as you turned to look at him, you caught him stealing glances at your lips, a flicker of desire dancing in his eyes.
It was a moment that felt suspended in time, yet he seemed to fight against the urge to close the distance.
"We should head to the next place," he finally murmured, breaking the spell as he moved toward the door, his voice low and slightly hesitant.
You followed him, a soft smile playing on your lips, but inside, a whirlwind of thoughts swirled. Lando was always so considerate, so respectful, and while you appreciated that about him, there were times when you wished he would take a leap of faith.
The two of you had danced around this moment for far too long, and the anticipation was almost unbearable.
"You know," you said, catching up to him as he paused at the door, "sometimes I think youâre too careful. Whatâs stopping you from just going for it?"
Your heart raced as you spoke, hoping to provoke a reaction.
He turned to face you, his expression a mix of surprise and contemplation. "I guess I just donât want to ruin what we have," he admitted, running a hand through his hair, a gesture that always made your heart flutter. "But I canât help but wonder if weâre missing out on something amazing."
You could see the conflict in his eyes, and it made you want to reach out and pull him closer.
"Whatever your option is, I'll always stand with you," you assured him, your voice soft but firm. The sincerity in your words seemed to ease some of the tension in his shoulders.
"Come on, don't you have a secret place to show me?" you added, a playful glint in your eye as you tried to lighten the mood.
Lando's face broke into a relieved smile, the weight of the moment lifting. "Yeah, I do," he said, his tone more relaxed as he opened the door for you.
As you both stepped out into the cool evening air, the unspoken promise of exploring that hidden place together filled you with a renewed sense of excitement. The night was still young, and with Lando by your side, you couldn't wait to see what adventures awaited.
Lando drove through winding roads until they reached a secluded, picturesque area. The headlights illuminated a candle-lit table set with an array of delicious food, and in the background, a luxurious yacht waited by the water's edge.
The sight took your breath away, and you turned to Lando with wide eyes, unable to hide your amazement. "How did you even manage this?" you asked, your voice filled with awe.
He merely grinned, a hint of mischief playing on his lips. "I have my ways," he replied, stepping out of the car and moving to your side to open your door.
As you walked together towards the beautifully set table, the ambiance of the evening wrapped around you like a warm embrace. The flickering candlelight cast a soft glow, making the moment feel even more intimate.
He gently pulled out your chair, guiding you to sit down with a grace that made your heart swell even more. As he took his seat across from you, the candlelight reflected in his eyes, creating a mesmerizing sparkle that you couldnât look away from.
The aroma of the food wafted up, mingling with the crisp evening air, creating an atmosphere that was nothing short of magical.
Lando poured you a glass of wine, his movements deliberate and smooth, as if he had planned every detail to perfection. "To us," he toasted, raising his glass with a smile that spoke volumes.
You clinked glasses, feeling the warmth of the wine and the moment seep into your soul. The conversation flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter, shared dreams, and the kind of deep connection that made you forget about everything else.
As you both reached for the first bite, the flavors exploded in your mouth, a symphony of tastes that perfectly complemented the enchanting setting. The dishes ranged from succulent grilled vegetables to tender cuts of meat, each prepared with exquisite care.
Lando watched your reaction with a satisfied smile, clearly pleased that his efforts were being appreciated. You savored every morsel, the delicious food enhancing the magic of the evening even further.
Between bites, you exchanged stories and memories, each one bringing you closer together.
The food was more than just a meal; it was an experience that tied the night together in a perfect bow. The rich, creamy desserts were the final touch, a sweet ending to an unforgettable dinner.
As you finished the last bite, you couldnât help but feel that this evening was the start of something truly special.
"So, is the yacht just for show?" you asked curiously, glancing over at the sleek vessel docked nearby. Lando's grin widened, a playful glint in his eyes.
"Ahh, I was waiting for you to ask about it," he replied, his voice tinged with excitement. "Do you want to get on it?"
Without waiting for an answer, he stood up and extended his hand to you. With your hand in his, you walked towards the yacht, the anticipation building with each step.
The yacht was an epitome of elegance and luxury, gleaming under the moonlight. As you stepped onto the polished teak deck, you couldn't help but admire the sleek lines and sophisticated design.
The gentle hum of the engine and the subtle sway of the boat added a sense of adventure to the atmosphere. Soft ambient lighting illuminated the pathways, guiding you both towards the interior with an inviting glow.
Inside, the yacht was a marvel of modern craftsmanship. Plush seating areas were adorned with rich fabrics and tasteful decor, creating a cozy yet opulent ambiance. The main salon featured expansive windows that offered breathtaking views of the starlit sea.
A state-of-the-art kitchen and a well-stocked bar hinted at more delightful culinary experiences to come. Everywhere you looked, there were thoughtful details that spoke of Lando's impeccable taste and the promise of unforgettable moments ahead.
"Do you like it?" Lando asked, a hint of uncertainty creeping into his voice despite his confident demeanor. You turned to him, eyes sparkling with genuine admiration.
"It's absolutely stunning, Lando. You've outdone yourself," you replied, squeezing his hand reassuringly. He visibly relaxed, his smile broadening as he took in your reaction.
As you continued exploring the yacht, Lando pointed out various features with pride. From the luxurious master suite to the sleek entertainment system, every detail was carefully curated to provide the ultimate experience.
You could see the passion and effort he had poured into making this yacht a floating paradise.
"I wanted this to be more than just a boat ride," he explained softly. "I wanted it to be a memory we would cherish forever."
You nodded, feeling a warmth spread through you as you realized just how much this eveningâand this momentâmeant to him as well.
You also promised to yourself that you would make the first move to him tonight. With a determined yet gentle resolve, you leaned in closer, your heart pounding in your chest.
"Lando," you began softly, gazing into his eyes, "I want this to be a memory we both cherish forever too."
After thoroughly exploring every nook and cranny of the luxurious yacht, the two of you found yourselves drawn to the expansive deck, where the horizon was ablaze with the colors of the setting sun.
The sky transformed into a canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples, casting a warm glow over the water.
"Isnât this just perfect?" you remarked, leaning against the railing and taking in the breathtaking view.
Lando, with a smile that lit up his face, nodded in agreement. âI canât think of a better way to end the day,â he replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
With the large, plush couch inviting you to sink into its comfort, you both had ample space to stretch out. However, instead of sprawling out, you chose to sit on Landoâs lap, feeling the warmth radiating from him.
"Youâre so cozy," you teased, wrapping your arms around his neck. He chuckled softly, his fingers gently tracing patterns on your back.
"I could get used to this," he said, his voice low and playful. As you began to massage his head, your fingers weaving through his curls, you pressed soft kisses on his hair, relishing the intimacy of the moment.
"You know, I could stay here forever," you whispered, feeling the world around you fade away.
Lando looked up at you, his expression a mix of affection and mischief. âForever is a long time, but I wouldnât mind if it meant more sunsets like this with you,â he replied, his eyes locking onto yours.
You felt a flutter in your chest at his words, the connection between you deepening. âLetâs make a pact then,â you suggested, a playful grin spreading across your face. âEvery sunset for this break, we find a cozy spot and just enjoy each otherâs company.â
He laughed, nodding. âDeal! But only if I get to sit on your lap next time,â he countered, his playful tone making you giggle. . . .
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm golden hue across the gentle waves, you found yourself nestled comfortably in Lando's lap on the deck of his sleek yacht, the subtle sway of the boat only adding to the intoxicating atmosphere.
You could hardly remember how you had crossed the line from innocent flirting to this moment, where your lips tangled and your breaths mingled under the fading light. It felt like a long time coming, a slow build-up of longing and unspoken words that finally erupted in a passionate kiss.
Lando smirked, his famous charm practically radiating off him, and he leaned in close, his breath warm against your ear as he teasingly whispered, âI think you and I have been waiting for this for ages." His hands began to travel across your back, fingers barely grazing your skin, igniting a fire within you that was both thrilling and comforting.
"Is this really happening?â you asked, half-mesmerized by the way his touch sent shivers down your spine.
âI mean, one moment we were only hands, and nowâŠâ you trailed off, a mix of disbelief and excitement coursing through me.
Lando chuckled softly, his hands finding a firmer grip on your waist as he pulled you closer, your bodies fitting perfectly together as if they were always meant to be this way.
âDid you only want to hold hands, though?â he questioned, a playful glint in his deep-set eyes. âIâve always thought there was something more, something bubbling under the surface, waiting for the right moment to explode.â
His words hung in the air, wrapping around you like the gentle sea breeze, and you felt a surge of confidence at his unfiltered honesty.
You let out a breathy laugh, captivated by the moment as you brushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear, your heart racing in synchrony with the rhythm of the waves.
âAre you saying this was all a part of your master plan?â you teased, playfully raising an eyebrow at him.
Lando leaned back slightly, giving you that signature lopsided grin that made your heart flutter. âMaster plan? More like a series of happy accidents,â he quipped. âBut if Iâm being honest, I wanted to kiss you the moment we first met. You were just too busy trying to keep up with the racing jokes.â
You rolled your eyes dramatically, but your heart swelled at his words, realizing how much energy and chemistry had been humming between us all along.
"Well," you replied, resting your forehead against his, "I guess it's a good thing we finally figured it out.
As you settle onto Landoâs lap, a surge of exhilaration runs through you, a mix of the salty breeze from the ocean and the intoxicating smell of sunscreen layered with his cologne.
His eyes, a vivid shade of green, spark with mischief as they meet yours, and a sense of weightlessness seems to blanket the world around you. Moments later, he leans in closer, the heat radiating from his body enveloping you like a warm wave, and without a word, his lips find yours.
You can taste the slight tang of the sea on his mouth, a delicious contrast to the sweet sensation of his kiss.
The world around you fades and the gentle lapping of the water against the yacht become a distant echo; youâre completely absorbed in this captivating moment of connection.
As the kiss deepens, you feel Landoâs tongue dance playfully with yours, each movement sparking a thrilling anticipation that sends shivers down your spine.
You canât help but pull him closer, wrapping your arms around his neck and feeling the sinewy strength in his shoulders. With every little touch, every brush of his lips, the air seems to vibrate with the unspoken electricity between you.
The world is no longer defined by the yacht or the party behind you; itâs merely the two of you, lost in a fleeting paradise where nothing else matters.
Suddenly, you can feel his hands roaming on your back, and you giggle softly against his lips, teasing him, âYouâre not supposed to distract me like this!â
He chuckles in response, his breath warm against your skin, "But how can I resist?"
Just as the kiss begins to take on a more fervent intensity, Lando finds a delicate gap in your dress, his fingers exploring the bare skin of your waist with a confident, gentle caress. The sensation ignites a fire within you, every glide of his fingertips a tantalizing reminder of your shared connection.
âDo you have any idea how beautiful you are?â he murmurs between kisses, his voice low and sincere, causing your heart to race.
You smile against him, feeling bold and cherished; âOnly when Iâm with you,â you reply, feeding the warmth that envelops the two of you.
The embrace seems to stretch into eternity, every kiss and touch intensifying the chemistry that crackles in the summer air, leaving you both intoxicated by the moment and eager for what lies ahead on this magical, sun-kissed day. . . .
Just moments earlier, you had shared a soft, lingering kiss, a tender connection that made your heart race, leaving you momentarily breathless.
"Wow, I didnât know you were such a great kisser," you teased while gazing into his captivating blue eyes, feeling the flutter of excitement bubbling within you as laughter escaped your lips.
Lando chuckled softly, his gaze locking onto yours with a seriousness that took you aback, his fingers gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind your ear.
As the wind tousled your hair and the sounds of waves crashing against the yacht faded into the background, Lando looked at you with an intensity that made your pulse quicken.
"Iâve been thinking about this for a while," he began, his voice steady yet laced with a hint of vulnerability, "and I just canât keep it to myself any longer. I thought of making a speech but that doesn't sound like a thing I would do so I thought I was just freestyle it. Y/N, you've made me so happy ever since I've met you, you've made me read more books, you've changed my life entirely and I'm grateful for your existence with everyday that passes by."
The playful banter dwindled, and an anticipatory silence enveloped you both as he continued. "Will you be my girlfriend and make the happiest man in the world?"
His question hung in the air, the weight of it leaving you utterly shocked, your mind racing as your heart skipped a beat. You stared at him, the world around you blurring into a hazy backdrop as those words echoed in your mind.
Was this really happening?
Your heart filled with joy and disbelief, and you found yourself momentarily lost in the depths of his ever-watchful eyes, torn between excitement and an overwhelming sense of surprise.
Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you finally managed to respond, the corners of your mouth curving into a smile, though your heart was still racing.
"You really know how to throw a girl off balance, donât you?" you replied, your voice slightly teasing yet laced with genuine affection. "That's quite the unexpected question, Lando. I mean, I thought we were just having fun on this beautiful yacht, enjoying the sunset."
You felt the blush rising to your cheeks as you remembered the kiss, your heart still hammering. "But, you know," you continued, looking deep into his eyes, trying to gauge the sincerity of his proposal, "Iâve definitely been feeling something special between us."
"but yes, of course I will be your girlfriend. I've been waiting for you to ask the question for weeks now," you said, smiling at how shocked Lando looked at your responce.
"Really? I thought it would be inappropriate to ask so quickly," Lando explained shyly, his cheeks turning red for a second.
"Aww Lando you're such a gentleman!" you said, melting at his words and pressing a kiss on his cheek as a reward. "You definitely deserve a treat after this,"
"I'm all yours," Lando smirked, his hands up in 'surrender' but you knew it wasn't going to take long for his hands to get back on your body. . . .

Mind Over Words
Kinkvember Day 10: Mind Reading
Ex-IZONE/Soloist Kwon Eunbi x Male reader
Kwon Eunbi was no stranger to adoration. As one of the most illustrious idols in the K-pop industry, she had become accustomed to the constant spotlight illuminating her every move. The shimmering lights of fame and the intoxicating cheers of her fans filled her life with an exhilarating thrill, while those around herâmanagers, stylists, and bodyguardsâcatered meticulously to her whims. They were like loyal shadows, wholly devoted to her, and Eunbi thrived on the attention that came with her status.
But when you entered her life, it was like stepping into a different world. Assigned as her new bodyguard after a particularly harrowing fan incident, you werenât like the others who had surrounded her. Their gazes lingered, always softened with admiration or anxious deference, each gesture a silent acknowledgment of her celebrity. But you? You were an enigma, a puzzle. From the very first moment, Eunbi sensed something unusual, even unsettling about you.
Your composure seemed unbreakable, almost otherworldly. You didnât hover; you didnât flinch at her biting remarks or her occasional temper. You simply stood there, strong and steady, carrying out your duties with a level of professionalism that was both maddening and captivating. Why doesnât he react to me? Eunbi wondered, confusion and frustration swirling within her. Why doesnât he treat me like Iâm someone to be adored?
What she didnât know was that you could hear her thoughts, clear as a voice spoken aloud. You heard her silent questions, felt her frustration, even her curiosity. But she didnât need to know that yet. You simply stood there, impervious on the outside, knowing every flicker of emotion that crossed her mind.
Eunbiâs initial attempts to ignore you were futile. Your presence was like a constant hum in the background, steady and unavoidable. She couldnât shake how your striking features, rugged and composed, carried an aura of authority that demanded attentionâyet you didnât wield it like others. You emitted a calm restraint that, despite your undeniable allure, made her pulse quicken in unexpected ways.
Every day, she tried to brush off these reactions, but her inner thoughts were a chaotic mix of confusion and intrigue, and you felt it all. You didnât react, didnât show the slightest hint that her presence affected you. And with each passing day, Eunbiâs frustration grew.
As weeks passed, Eunbi found herself caught in an emotional bind. Somehow, you seemed to know what she needed before she could even ask. When she was parched after a long rehearsal, there would be a bottle of chilled water in her hand before she even turned around. At an outdoor shoot, as the heat grew unbearable, youâd have a towel ready or a fan positioned for relief. It was uncanny, almost supernatural.
Yet, the more you took care of her needs, the more irritated she became. Perfect was a word sheâd heard too often, but you embodied it in a way that felt oppressive. Why were you so attuned to her? Why did you seem to understand her unspoken needs so well? Your silence and precision highlighted her vulnerability, unsettling her more than she cared to admit. You never asked for gratitude, never expected her approval or admiration. You wereâŠunmoved.
Her frustration simmered, and her thoughts spiraled: Does he ever make mistakes? Why doesnât he react to me? Why does he care about everything else but my attention?
Your calm exterior held, but you were fully aware of her thoughts. Eunbiâs inner voice pulsed with equal parts irritation and fascination. She lashed out in small ways, hoping to provoke a crack in your armor. She made cutting remarks, and tossed off-handed jabs your way, but you only replied evenly.
âIâm here to take care of you, Ms. Kwon. Itâs my job,â you said once, offering a towel after a particularly grueling rehearsal, your tone gentle but unreadable.
That was the crux of her dilemmaâyou were too good at your job. Your calmness was both a shield and a barrier. Each time she lashed out, a part of her hoped for a reaction, for some glimpse of humanity behind the stoic mask. And you felt her silent yearning. It was palpable, woven into her thoughts as if searching for proof that you werenât just her bodyguard.
What truly haunted her was the attraction that had blossomed almost immediately after your arrival. She fought against it, clinging to professionalism. But every stolen glanceâat the strength in your hands, the confident set of your shoulders under a suit, the way your jaw would tense in moments of concentrationâonly pulled her deeper into a world of fantasy.
God, just imagine those hands on me, she mused one day, biting her lip before catching herself. The thought startled even her, and she chastised herself immediately. But she couldnât resist the magnetic pull that only grew stronger with each passing interaction. You could feel her fantasies drift through her mind, the haze of longing nearly suffocating. Still, you held firm.
When ignoring her desire no longer worked, Eunbi switched tactics. She began dressing more provocatively around you, telling herself it was merely her style, but she knew the intent was far from innocent. The first time she walked into the room in a low-cut top, she threw you a glance, eagerly anticipating a response.
But you merely nodded politely, eyes scanning the surroundings as if her presence were no more remarkable than anyone elseâs. Her thoughts turned bitterly annoyed: Seriously? He didnât even notice.
The next day, she wore a tight dress that accentuated her legs and hips. She swayed deliberately as she passed, hoping to break your indifference. But once again, you remained indifferent, your gaze focused on her surroundings rather than her.
Why doesnât he see me? she fumed inwardly. She knew she was attractive. She knew the effect she had on people. But with you, it felt like she was invisible.
âDo you think this dress looks good on me?â she asked one morning, adjusting the straps with a slight smirk. The neckline dipped, framing her figure in a way she knew was alluring.
You glanced briefly. âItâs appropriate for the event, Ms. Kwon,â you replied smoothly, sensing the frustration flaring up inside her even as she kept her expression neutral.
Appropriate? she seethed inwardly, biting back a scowl. Iâm practically throwing myself at him, and all he can say is that itâs âappropriateâ?
The tension built steadily over the following weeks, until it finally reached a boiling point at a fan meeting. She sat behind a long table, surrounded by the chatter and excitement of her fans, a familiar routine. But today, her mind was somewhere elseâon you.
You stood nearby, ever-watchful, a statue of unwavering professionalism. She knew you were scanning the room, focused on your duty. But amid the buzz of adoring fans, she felt a strange emptiness. You were so close, yet so unreachable, her thoughts swirling with a longing she didnât want to name.
He canât be this detached. He has to feel something. Why wonât he let me see?
What she didnât know was that her thoughts, though silent to others, echoed clearly in your mind, striking like a silent plea. You remained steadfast, a lighthouse against her growing storm, guiding her while suppressing your own turbulent emotions. You knew the line between duty and desire was razor-thin, and crossing it could unravel everything.
But Eunbiâs thoughts grew louder, her mind practically screaming her frustration, her curiosity, her yearning. It was almost as if she wanted you to hear her deepest, most vulnerable desires. And you heard every word, every unspoken admission, knowing that the boundary between you was wearing thin.
Why wonât he just look at me? Eunbi thought bitterly, frustration simmering just below the surface of her practiced smile. I could be naked, and he wouldnât care.
The thought stirred up both anger and a strange thrill that unsettled her. It was childishâa possessive cry for your attention, yet it was raw, disarmingly real. She wanted you to notice herâneeded you to, more than she had ever wanted anything. Yet, as she subtly stole glances at you out of the corner of her eye, she found nothing: no hint of interest, no flicker of recognition that her heart raced in your presence.
Her dress hugged her curves perfectly, an outfit chosen with every intention of catching your eye. A silent plea wrapped in silk and lace, it clashed painfully with the stoic indifference she saw in your gaze. Just as she caught herself hoping for your attention, the laughter of nearby girls pierced through her focus, their admiration for you like daggers to her heart.
âHeâs so handsome!â one of them squealed, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at you. âDo you think heâs single?â another chimed in, her tone blending excitement with hope.
Eunbiâs jaw tightened, her forced smile growing strained. Theyâre not here for him. Theyâre here for me. Why are they looking at him like that? The surge of jealousy and insecurity nearly broke her composure. What was he even looking at? Theyâre flat as a plank compared to me.
But what twisted the knife deeper in Eunbiâs heart wasnât just the attention you were receiving; it was your reaction to it. For the first time since sheâd met you, a small laugh escaped your lips, a polite smile brightening your features just slightly. The sight was like a slap, lighting a painful flame of betrayal within her. You had never smiled at her like that, no matter how hard she tried, no matter how many subtle advancements she made. Nothing could ignite a spark in you.
Are you kidding me? Her heart raced, jealousy and anger pounding against her ribcage. He can smile at them, but not at me? The thought was painful, almost intoxicating, as if it revealed a hard truth she wasnât ready to confront: you saw beauty in them, but not in her.
Her gaze narrowed on the girls, their laughter stinging like a taunt. They were transfixed by you, oblivious to the charge in the air between her and you, their eyes shimmering with a careless admiration. Heâs mine, she thought fiercely. Not yours.
The jealousy seethed within her, tightening the knots in her stomach with each passing second. She knew she shouldnât focus on themâor on youâbut try as she might, her attention kept snapping back to the frenzied crowd. Fans clamored to catch a glimpse of her, their smiles far brighter than the tension brewing inside her heart. She struggled to maintain her facade, to plaster a smile on her face while signing autographs, yet nothing could shake the bitter realization that had taken up residence in her chest.
As she forced herself to engage with the fans ahead of her, the laughter of those girls, and the image of you chuckling at their admiration, echoed in her mind. Would she ever break through the wall you had built around yourself? And why, despite everything, did she still hope for your gaze to meet hers, even if just for a fleeting moment?
And then, her already brittle patience snapped with the next fan in lineâa man whose presence was a jarring departure from the girls. A middle-aged man stepped forward, his smile wide enough to reveal uneven teeth, but it was the way his eyes lingered on Eunbi that made her stomach churn. âEunbi-ssi,â he said, a shadow of something unsettling lurking in his voice. His gaze traveled down her body before snapping back to her face, and she forced a polite smile, wishing desperately to push the waves of jealousy swirling in her mind into the recesses of her consciousness.
âIâve been following your career for years,â he continued, his eyes uncomfortably assessing her. âYouâre even more beautiful in person.â
Great, she thought, her stomach churning in disgust. Another creep.
Eunbi clenched her jaw, masking her distaste with a polite response. âThank you for your support.â Her voice, sweet yet strained, fell flat in the air, thick with tension. As she hastily signed the manâs poster, she mentally urged him to move along.
But the encounter was far from over. The man extended his hand with a persistence that unsettled her, the simple handshake suddenly feeling invasive. Reluctantly, she took his hand, hoping the interaction would be brief. But as his grip tightened, she felt a chill run through herâa sense of an unseen boundary being crossed. His fingers lingered too long, and he leaned in closer, invading her personal space with an oily request, âCan I get a special picture? Just between us?â
Let go, she thought desperately, panic flickering in her eyes. Why wonât he let go?
Her pulse quickened, her mind spinning as panic threatened to take over. With every second that passed, she felt more cornered, her instincts screaming for her to pull away, but his grasp tightened instead. Her gaze darted to you, instinctively pleading for a reprieve from the unwanted encounter.
Without hesitation, you stepped forward, seamlessly inserting yourself between Eunbi and the unwanted fan. Your presence was commanding, authoritative yet calm, exuding a sense of protection that immediately eased some of her unease. âThatâs enough.Take your hands of Ms. Kwon before I force them off,â you said, your voice steady and unwavering.
The fan blinked, his bravado crumbling as he quickly released Eunbiâs hand. He mumbled an apology, retreating with a pale face, his previous confidence shattered. The relief that flooded through Eunbi was palpable, yet beneath her relief lingered a gratitude so profound, it unsettled her, a quiet acknowledgment that went beyond mere professionalism. You had stepped in at exactly the right moment, just when she needed you the most. It wasnât just about professionalism anymore. It was something deeper. You had understood her discomfort before she even had a chance to voice it.
-----
Later that night, Eunbi paced back and forth in her room, her mind racing with everything that had happened. The way you had stepped in with that fan, the way you always seemed to know exactly what she neededâit was starting to feel like too much. How does he always know? she wondered, her frustration bubbling over. How does he do it?
Unable to let it go, she crossed the hall and knocked on your door. When you opened it, your expression was as unreadable as ever, but tonight, she wasnât going to let you keep hiding behind that calm facade.
âMs. Kwonâ you said, your voice unwavering. âIs something wrong?â
Without waiting for an invitation, she stepped past you into the room, her frustration pushing her forward. âHow do you do it?â she demanded, turning to face you, her pulse quickening.
You raised an eyebrow. âDo what?â
âYou always know,â she snapped. âYou always know what I need before I even ask. How do you do that?â
For a moment, you hesitated, your gaze holding a flicker of something darker, though your voice remained steady. âItâs my job to take care of you.â
âThatâs crap, you know what Iâm talking about,â she shot back, shaking her head. âItâs not just your job. You know things⊠things you shouldnât know.â
You stayed silent, eyes searching hers, and then finally said, âI pay attention. I notice things.â
Eunbiâs mind spun with conflicting emotions, a tangled mess of confusion and desire. Is that all it is? Could he really just be that observant?
But she knew there was more to it than that. No one had ever been able to anticipate her needs the way you did. Not her staff, not her fansâno one.
Her thoughts spiraled. How does he know exactly what I want, even when I donât say it?
Frustration took over. âIf youâre so good at paying attention,â she said, stepping closer, âthen why donât you ever...â
She stopped herself, caught off guard by her own longing. Why donât you ever touch me? Why donât you ever lose control?
Your gaze held hers, intense and unreadable. Taking a step closer, your presence fills the space between you with a magnetic intensity.
Her breath hitched. She was so close to losing control herself, her body trembling with a desire sheâd been fighting for weeks. Yes. Finally, Iâve wanted this since the day I met you.
But she couldnât say that. Instead, she stammered, âWe... we shouldnât. Weâre professionals.â
Your lips twitched into the faintest of smiles. âAre we?â
Eunbi stepped back, trying to regain some sense of control. âWe should keep this... professional. I donât see you this way .â
You paused, as if weighing her words, and then took a step back as if to agree with her.
Her heart seized in her chest. No. Donât leave. Please donât leave.
You turned back, eyes dark with amusement. âI think you do want this,â you murmured, your voice low.
Eunbiâs breath caught as you moved closer, your body pressing against hers. All her resistance crumbled.
âYou want me to stop?â you asked, your voice low, almost teasing.
Eunbiâs breath caught in her throat as her thoughts betrayed her once again. No, donât stop. Please donât stop.
Her heart pounded in her chest as you reached out, your hand gently brushing her arm. The touch sent a shock of heat through her body, making her breath hitch. She opened her mouth to protest, but the words wouldnât come. All she could think about was how badly she wanted you to keep going, to let go of that rigid professionalism just for once.
You leaned in closer, your breath warm against her skin as you whispered, âIs this what you want?â
Eunbiâs mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. She knew she should push you away, knew she should tell you to stopâbut she couldnât. She couldnât fight the desire that had been building inside her for weeks.
Yes, it is. I want this. I want you.
But out loud, she shook her head, trying to hold onto some semblance of control. âWe... we shouldnât, it's wrong.â
Your lips twitched into the faintest of smiles. âWhy is it so wrong?â you repeated, your voice filled with a dark amusement.
Eunbiâs body betrayed her as she stepped closer, her heart racing. Just rip my top off already. I want you to touch me. Iâve been waiting for this.
Your eyes darkened as you heard her unspoken thoughts, and for the first time, Eunbi saw a crack in your calm demeanor. You moved in closer, your hands sliding up her arms, sending shivers down her spine. And then, with a low, dark chuckle, you did exactly what she had been begging for in her mindâyour fingers gripped the fabric of her top, and with one swift motion, you ripped it open.
Eunbi gasped, her body reacting instantly to the cool air hitting her skin. She stared up at you, wide-eyed, a mix of shock and thrill coursing through her. âWhat the hellââ she began, trying to keep her voice steady, but she was too flustered to hide how much she was enjoying it.
Your gaze never wavered as you leaned in, your lips brushing her ear. âYou wanted this, didnât you?â Your hands moved to her chest, teasing her exposed skin, and Eunbiâs breath hitched as the intensity of your touch sent waves of pleasure through her.
âI... I didnât say that,â she protested weakly, her voice trembling. âYou just... ruined my shirt.â
But her mind was screaming a different story. Finally. Oh god, Iâve been waiting for this. Donât stop. Touch me more.
You chuckled softly, your fingers trailing over her skin. âYou didnât have to say it.â
Eunbiâs breath hitched as your hands moved across her chest, teasing her exposed skin. She wanted to push away, to tell you that this was wrong, that they shouldnât be doing this, but her body had a mind of its own. Her heart raced as your fingers trailed over her nipples, sending electric jolts of pleasure through her.
âWe... we should stop,â she said breathlessly, her voice trembling as she tried to regain some control. âThis isnât... we canât...â
But your gaze was dark, intense, and you weren't planning on stopping. Leaning down, your lips finding her sensitive nipples, you began to suck and tease, your tongue swirling over them in a way that made Eunbiâs entire body shudder.
Oh my god, she thought, her mind spiraling. Iâm so wet. Ugh just take me already... Iâm so easy for you.
âWait, stop...â she said weakly, her voice barely a whisper. âThis isnât right.â
You could hear her every thought, the conflict raging inside her as her body responded to his touch. His hands slid down her sides, slowly beginning to undress the remaining items. She gasped, her body trembling as his fingers brushed over her waist, tugging at the fabric of her pants.
âN-no,â she protested, trying to hold onto the last shred of professionalism. âWe... we need to stop. â
But you donât stop. You know better. You know exactly what she wants, even if she canât admit it to herself. Slowly, deliberately, you undress her, your touch firm yet gentle as you pull her pants down, along with her panties, leaving her completely bare beneath you.
Eunbiâs heart races, her mind spinning with conflicting thoughts. This is wrong. We shouldnât be doing this. But at the same time, another voice in her head screams louder. I want you. I want you so badly. Iâm so wet for you. Just take me already.
You have her on her back now, your eyes never leaving hers as you lower your face between her legs. Eunbiâs breath catches in her throat, her body trembling with anticipation as your hands slide up her thighs, parting them gently.
âFuckâ she gasps, her voice shaking as she tries to hold onto her composure. âThis is too farâŠâ
And then, your mouth pressing against her most sensitive spot as your tongue begins to tease and explore. Eunbiâs entire body jolts with pleasure, her back arching off the bed as a moan escapes her lips.
âOh my god...â she gasps, her mind spinning. This feels so good. Too goodâŠ
Your tongue works expertly, drawing out wave after wave of pleasure as you move between her legs. Eunbiâs hands grip the sheets, her body trembling with the intensity of the sensations crashing through her. But even as she's lost in the moment, another thought pushes to the front of her mind.
If he starts playing with my nipples, Iâll lose it. Iâll completely lose control.
Hearing every word, your hands moved up her body, tracing the curve of her waist before finding her breast. You gently cupped it, feeling the weight of her fullness in your hand. Eunbi inhaled sharply, her breath hitching as your thumb brushed against her nipple. The sensitive bud hardened under your touch, and you couldnât help but smile at the involuntary response.
With a feather-light touch, you traced the outline of her nipples, eliciting a soft gasp from Eunbi. Her back arched slightly off the bed, a silent plea for more. You obliged, your fingers now gently twisting and tugging her nipples, sending a jolt of pleasure straight to her core. Eunbi had unknowingly given you the key to her pleasureâa natural button on her chest that you savored with delicate attention.
Her orgasm took her by surprise, hitting suddenly and with intense force. She couldnât hold back a loud, involuntary gasp as her back arched off the bed, a testament to the pleasure coursing through her body. Her hips bucked uncontrollably, meeting your touch with a needful urgency, as wave after wave of ecstasy overtook her.
The Idolâs mind went blank, all conscious thought evaporating in an instant as her body trembled beneath your touch. Every muscle in her body seemed to tense up and then release, a violent shudder passing through her with each passing moment. Her breathing became ragged, panting and gasping for air as she rode out the intense waves of pleasure. It was as if every nerve ending in her body was on fire, consumed by the overwhelming intensity of her release.
âOh my god... oh god...â she moaned, her voice a breathless, broken whisper. Her fingernails digging into your hair as she struggled to maintain some semblance of control. But it was futile, her body was beyond her control now, completely at the mercy of the exquisite pleasure coursing through her veins. Her toes curled, her legs shook, and her whole body trembled with the force of her orgasm.
"This is too much... it feels too good... I canât stop..." Her thoughts are a mess, her body spiraling out of control as you continue to pleasure her, your tongue never letting up. Every stroke sends another surge of ecstasy crashing through her, pushing her deeper into the abyss of pleasure.
She was helpless, completely at his mercy, and she loved every second of it. Her body trembled, her mind overwhelmed by the intensity of her orgasm, but even in the middle of it, she wanted more. Needed more.
Oh god... I need you inside me..
You finally pull back, your lips glistening with the evidence of her pleasure, watching in awe as Eunbiâs body quivered, her breath coming in short, sharp bursts. Her chest heaved, rising and falling with each labored breath, the pinkened peaks of her nipples standing tall and proud. You had done this to her, reduced her to a trembling, gasping mess.
Standing up, your expression was unreadable as you began to undress, the room heavy with the tension that still lingers between you. Eunbiâs heart races as she watches you, her body still thrumming with desire, even after the intensity of her orgasm.
But then, suddenly, you pause, glancing down at her, and for a moment, it looks like youâre about to step away.
Eunbiâs breath catches in her throat, panic seizing her for a split second. No. No,waht are you doing?..
You turned slightly. Her heart pounded in her chest, her mind screaming in frustration. Donât you dare leave. Please. Please stay. I need you to stay.
Her lips parted, but the words wouldnât come. She was too conflicted, too torn between her desire and the thin thread of professionalism she still tried to cling to. âW-Waitâ she stammered, her voice weak and trembling.Â
You turn back toward her, a faint, teasing smile curving on your lips as you slowly undo your belt. You've heard her thoughts loud and clear, and the amusement in your eyes only makes her heart race faster.
âYou want me to stay?â you ask softly, your voice a low, teasing rumble.
Eunbiâs breath catches in her throat, her body still trembling with need. She can feel the heat radiating off you as you stand above her, your presence overwhelming.
Yes. Yes, I want you to stay. I need you to finish this.
As you undress fully, your eyes never leave hers, the weight of your gaze making her tremble even more. Youâre toying with her now, enjoying the way her thoughts betray her true desires, even as she tries to resist.
You move back toward the bed, positioning yourself between her legs. Eunbiâs breath quickens as she feels your hands slide up her thighs, parting them gently. Her body is already responding to you, her core throbbing with need, but her mind is still at war with itself.
A soft chuckle escaped your lips as it trailed down her neck and your hands slid up her body, teasing her one last time before positioning your length at her entrance. Her body tensed in anticipation, her heart racing as she felt you used her arousal to coat your member.
âNo...â she gasped, her voice barely audible. âWe canât...â
Hurry up and fuck me, I need this.
As you slowly pressed inside her, Eunbiâs body trembled, her breath catching in her throat as you filled her completely. Every inch of you sent waves of pleasure through her, and even though her mind screamed for her to hold onto control, her body had already surrendered.
Soft protest escaped her mouth as her thoughts were swirling all over the place. Yes, yes, yes. This is what I wanted. This is what Iâve been waiting for.
Your movement was slow at first, each thrust deep and deliberate, drawing out the pleasure with every motion. Eunbiâs hands gripped the sheets, her body responding to every movement, her hips lifting to meet his as she completely gave in.
Slap me... slap my tits...play with it. The thought blazed through her mind, a desperate plea for more, for something to push her over the edge again. But she couldnât bring herself to say it out loud.Â
You hesitate for a moment, teasing her, holding back just enough to drive her wild. Beneath you, Eunbiâs body writhes, her thoughts growing louder, more frantic. Please, please. Slap my tits. I need you to break me.
Finally, you give her what she wants. Your hand comes down on her chest, the sharp sting of your slap sending another wave of pleasure crashing through her. Eunbi cries out, clenching tightly around your shaft as her back arching off the bed, the pressure inside her intensifies.
Oh god, yes. Yes, this is what I needed.
As you repeat the assault on her chest, your movements quicken, each thrust deep and deliberate. Eunbiâs mind is spinning. Her body trembles beneath you, her hands gripping the sheets as wave after wave of pleasure courses through her. Sheâs lost control, her body responding to every touch, every stroke, as you drive her closer and closer to the edge.
Donât stop. Please donât stop. I need you.
You donât slow down. You thrust into her deeper, your hands gripping her hips as you move faster, the tension between you building with every second. Eunbiâs breath comes in shallow gasps, her body arching off the bed as the pleasure overwhelms her.
âWe canât... we canât do this...,â she whispers, her voice shaking as she tries to hold onto control. You hear her thoughts as clearly as if sheâd spoken them, and you donât stop. You can feel the way her body responds to you, the way sheâs giving in completely, even as her lips whisper half-hearted protests.
Leaning down, your breath warm against her ear, you murmur, âDo you really want me to stop?â
For a moment, she hesitates, her lips parting as if to protest. Her eyes search yours, torn between her restraint and the undeniable pull she feels. Then, as her need overtakes any lingering hesitation, she gives in, her voice barely more than a whisper at first.
âForget it,â she breathes, her voice trembling with raw honesty as her desires spill forth, unrestrained. âJust keep going. Please⊠just keep fucking me as hard as you can.â
Her words hang in the air, her vulnerability laid bare, yet her gaze remains fixed on yours with unguarded need. In that look, she surrenders fully, giving herself over to the moment. You feel her body respond, breaths coming quicker, her back arching to meet you as she invites each touch, every movement with an openness that only intensifies the desire between you.
With renewed intensity, you fully connected your hips, your hands sliding up her body before resting firmly on her chest. Your fingers graze her sensitive skin, each touch sparking a fresh surge of pleasure that sends her gasping, her body yielding fully to your hold. You use her chest to steady yourself, fingers pressing into her soft skin as you thrust deeper, guiding her into the rhythm that grows stronger with every moment.
As you move with a cadence that speaks of the ancient knowledge of lovers, a gasp escapes her lips, a note in the symphony of pleasure that fills the room. The rhythm is intoxicating, a steady drumbeat that resonates with the very core of your beings. But then, with a swift, powerful slap, you break the pattern, introducing a new sensation that draws a moan from her, a sound that hangs in the air like a delicate promise.
Her body responds instinctively, pressing closer, as if seeking to merge with your own. Each movement is a testament to the raw, urgent energy that flows between you, a force that cannot be contained or denied. Her soft moans grow more intense, a crescendo that builds with each shared breath. You feel her hands slide up, fingers gripping your arms, a silent plea for anchor as the pace grows faster, the dance more frenzied.
"Oh god," she murmurs, her voice a melody that harmonizes with the sound of skin meeting skin. The words are a benediction, a surrender to the overwhelming sensations that course through her. Her breath hitches, a staccato that matches the rhythm of your movements, as the pleasure builds, a wave on the verge of breaking.
With each thrust, the connection between you deepens, a magnetic pull that aligns your bodies in perfect rhythm, as if an invisible thread weaves through you, binding you together. Every touch, every moment, brings you both closer to the edge, the tension between you coiling tighter, a spring wound to the brink of release.
As you continue to thrust, you can feel the heat building between you, matching the desperate need in her gaze. Her nails dig into your chest, urging you on, as she matches your rhythm, driving you closer and closer to the edge.
You can feel her body trembling beneath you, her muscles tensing as she nears her own release. The feeling of her, clenching around you, is almost too much to bear. You can feel yourself swelling inside her, ready to release all the pent-up desire that has been building between you.
"I'm so fucking close" she whimpers, her voice barely audible as she gasps for breath. You can see the anticipation in her eyes, the need for that final, shattering release.
âWait... Pull outâ she gasps, her voice barely audible. âdonât cum inside me," Â sounding like she was talking to herself rather than you.
But her mind betrays her, drowning out her own words. Please, fill me up. I need it. I want you to breed me. Iâm yours.
You donât slow down. Your pace quickens, each thrust deep and powerful, driving her closer and closer to the edge of another release. Eunbiâs mind is in chaos, her thoughts a jumbled mess of conflicting emotions.
âPlease... pull out,â she whispers again, her voice trembling. âWe... we shouldnât... you canât cum in meâŠâ
But all you could hear were the relentless and loud thoughts circling in her mind I want you to fill me. I need you to cum inside me. I need you to breed me like the slut I am.
You groan softly, your hands gripping her hips tighter as you thrust into her harder, deeper, pushing her closer to the brink. You know exactly what she truly wants, even as she fights against it with her words.
âNo...stop...â she gasps, her voice barely a whisper now. âPull out...â
But her thoughts scream louder, desperate, begging: Yes. Yes. Please, fill me all the way up.
With one final thrust, you position your hips and penetrate at just the right angle, striking a special spot and sending Eunbi spiraling into a whirlwind of unrestrained pleasure. As the intensity of her orgasm builds, she feels completely enveloped by the exquisite sensations flowing through her body. Her back arches off the bed, a testament to the overwhelming ecstasy that has taken control. The thoughts of professionalism and restraint that once lingered in her mind fade away, replaced by an all-consuming focus on the indescribable pleasure that now captivates her.
A guttural cry escapes her lips as her hips buck wildly, moving in rhythm with the overwhelming surge of release. Her body, slick with sweat, trembles with each wave of pleasure that crashes over her. In this moment she is simply a being overcome by the raw, primal exhilaration of pure, unadulterated pleasure.
Every touch, and every thrust propels her closer to the edge of oblivion. Your hands roam freely over her body, finding their way to the soft mounds of her breasts. Cupping them tenderly, your fingers gently knead the delicate flesh, before zeroing in on the sensitive peaks of her nipples.
As you take one taut bud into your mouth, you flick your tongue over the sensitive tip, causing Eunbi to gasp at the sudden jolt of pleasure. Biting down ever so slightly, the delicious mixture of pleasure and pain sends her senses into overdrive. simultaneously, you pinch and tug at her other nipple, eliciting a raw, visceral response from Eunbi's body. Her breath hitches, her heart races, and she is certain she may very well shatter into a million pieces from the sheer force of the sensations coursing through her.
Her mind reels as your mouth continues to work its magic on her aching nipple, while your fingers continue their relentless assault on the other. She can feel each tug, each pinch, and each flick of your tongue as if they are imprinted on her very soul. Every sensation is amplified, every nerve ending electrified, as her body is enveloped in a cocoon of pure, unadulterated pleasure.
And as if you can sense her growing need, her unspoken desire, you give her exactly what she craves. She can feel the throb of your member, filling her to the brim, each pulse sending another jolt of pleasure ricocheting through her body. As you continue to pump into her, she can feel her teetering on the edge of an abyss, the intensity of her impending release building with each thrust
Then, suddenly, she's there. The world around her fades into obscurity as she is consumed by the sheer force of her orgasm. It rips through her like a tempest, leaving her breathless and trembling in its wake. Wave after wave of pleasure crashes over her, a cacophony of sensations that leave her mind reeling and her body spent.
As you both come undone together, she feels your seed in every crevice inside her, each drop igniting another wave of pleasure that ripples through her. Your breathing, once ragged and urgent, begins to slow, the rhythm softening as your shared climax fades into a quiet, tender aftermath. A moment stretches between you, the intimacy lingering in the warmth of your entwined bodies. You gradually withdraw, and sheâs left with a sudden, aching emptiness that sends a shiver down her spine. The absence is palpable, and she fights the urge to reach out, the space between you now filled with a longing that leaves her breathless.
You stand at the edge of the bed, gathering your clothes in silence, each movement careful and slow, as if holding back something heavy. Your gaze remains fixed on the floor, and Eunbi senses the tension in the air, an unmistakable shift between you that makes her stomach clench.
âHeyâŠâ she started softly, her voice edged with worry. âWhatâs wrong?â
For a moment, you didnât respond, keeping your back to her, shoulders tense and rigid. Silence stretched between you, thick and weighted, pressing down until finally, you murmured, âI⊠I shouldnât have done that.â
Eunbi sat up, her mind clearing quickly, though her body was still tingling from the intimacy youâd just shared. âWhat? Why not?â Her brow furrowed as she watched you, confusion tightening her chest. Does he regret it?
You shook your head, still not meeting her gaze. âI never wanted to⊠use my powers like this.â
âPowers?â she echoed, her frown deepening. She pulled the sheet tightly around herself, unsure where this conversation was headed. âWhat powers?â
You sighed, the sound long and heavy, as if you were exhaling something youâd been holding in for a long time. âI can⊠hear thoughts, Eunbi. I can read minds.â
Eunbi blinked, stunned. âWhat?â she said, a slight, disbelieving laugh escaping her. âCome on, be serious.â
But you werenât laughing. You finally turned to her, meeting her gaze with an expression full of guilt and something even deeper, something that looked like regret. âItâs true. Iâve had this ability my whole life. I shouldnât have used it with you.â
Her eyes widened as she processed your words, her pulse quickening. She wanted to argue, to laugh it off, to tell you that you were joking, but something about the look in your eyes made her stop. Her mind reeled with memories of all the times youâd known exactly what she needed, all the moments when youâd read her without her saying a word.
âProve it,â she challenged, her voice soft but firm. She watched you carefully, waiting.
You nodded, your tone gentle but earnest. âThink of something. Anything. Just⊠something random.â
After a slight pause, she glanced around the room and landed on a small object, the orange lamp on the bedside table. She tried to keep her gaze neutral.
Your eyes flickered, and after a moment you said, âOrange lamp.â
Eunbi felt her breath catch, but she quickly raised an eyebrow, refusing to let you see her surprise. âOkay, maybe you just saw me look at it. Thatâs not enough to prove anything.â
A small smile tugged at her lips as she raised her chin, still feeling the warmth of your seed inside her, a tender reminder of the closeness you had just shared. The thought slipped into her mind without hesitation, unguarded and impulsive.
That was the best that Iâve ever been fucked.
You rubbed the back of your neck, your shy smile growing wider as you looked down, clearly trying not to laugh. After a moment, you met her gaze, the warmth in your eyes unmistakable. âThank you⊠it was the best for me as well.â
Eunbiâs cheeks flushed a deep red as her mouth dropped open. âW-What,â she muttered, burying her face in her hands. Her blush deepened, yet as she looked up at you, the sincerity in your expression melted her embarrassment, softening her self-consciousness. The air between you felt charged, intimate, as if words were no longer needed. And then, a sinking realization washed over her, stirring a feeling of both horror and shame.
If you could hear everything⊠then you had heard everything.
Her cheeks flushed with a deep embarrassment, and as her thoughts wandered back to just a few moments earlier, her face burned with the realization. All those things she had thought, the raw and explicit thoughts sheâd never voiced. She buried her face in her hands, barely able to look at you. âOh my god,â she whispered, her voice trembling. âYou heard all of that, didnât you?â
You winced, nodding. âYeah⊠Iâm sorry.â
Eunbiâs heart pounded in her chest, a mix of mortification and anger welling up. But beneath it all, she sensed the regret in your voice, the heaviness in your words. Slowly, she looked up at you, studying the anguish etched across your face.
âI shouldnât have used it,â you confessed, your tone thick with remorse. âI never wanted to invade your privacy like that. I⊠I got caught up in my feelings for you, and I crossed a line.â
Her initial embarrassment softened as she saw the depth of your guilt, the pain you seemed to be carrying. She could see how much you regretted letting your guard down, how much you wished things had unfolded differently. Instead of feeling betrayed, a warmth of compassion began to swell within her.
Sighing, Eunbi took a deep breath. âI... I donât blame you,â she said softly, her voice more understanding now.
Your eyes widened slightly, surprise breaking through your guarded expression. âYou donât?â
Eunbi shook her head, her heartbeat still racing but her voice calm and steady. âI mean, yeah, itâs... a lot to take in. But you didnât do anything I didnât want. You just... knew it before I could say it.â
You looked at her, as if struggling to believe that she could be so forgiving. "But Iâ"
She stopped you, her voice gentle but firm. âYouâre not a bad person for this. You didnât manipulate me. Iâve wanted this for a long time. You just... heard what I was too afraid to say.â
Eunbiâs face heated again, the memory of her own thoughts flooding back, but with it came a different feeling. If you had heard her deepest desires and still felt such remorse, then maybe you hadnât betrayed her. Maybe you were struggling, too.
âIâm not mad,â she continued, her tone soft but clear. âEmbarrassed, yeah. But not mad.â
Relief flickered across your face, though the weight of guilt still lingered in your eyes. âWhat now? I can leave if you want me to.â
Eunbi took a moment to consider, then met your gaze with a quiet resolve. âNo. I donât want that. We canât change what happened, but that doesnât make it a mistake.â
She could see the uncertainty in your expression, the way you still seemed to doubt her forgiveness, but there was a hint of hope, a spark of belief.
âI donât know if I canââ
âWeâll work it out,â she interrupted, her words firm, reassuring. âI donât want to lose you. Not after this. We can keep it between us. Itâs our secret.â
The promise settled between you, and slowly, you nodded, the tension in your shoulders easing as you stepped closer. âOkay,â you murmured. âWeâll keep it between us.â
Eunbi offered a small, tentative smile, reaching out to take your hand. âWeâll figure it out.â
-----
Months passed, and the secret between you became an unspoken bond, an intimacy shared in every glance, every touch, every fleeting moment that only you and Eunbi could understand. You had grown adept at living a dual lifeâprofessional on the surface, but connected by a private world of shared thoughts and hidden feelings. To everyone else, you were just her bodyguard: disciplined, unyielding. But to Eunbi, you were so much more.
At a sold-out concert, Eunbi danced across the stage, her presence commanding the room as fans cheered and sang along. The lights flashed, the beat reverberated, and in that sea of admiration, her focus was still somehow on you. There you were, standing by the side of the stage, your gaze steady, watching over her with unwavering vigilance. To anyone else, you were the ever-present protector, but she knew the truth hidden in your eyes.
As she danced, Eunbi found herself drifting toward the edge of the stage, closer to where you stood, her heart swelling with a sudden impulse. She locked eyes with you for the briefest of moments, and in that silent exchange, she sent a thought, simple but laden with the weight of everything she felt.
You have no idea how much I love you. I love you with all my heart.
Your reaction was instant. For a split second, your usually impassive expression faltered, your eyes widening in shock. She saw the vulnerability there, the raw emotion that no one else could see. The sight brought a grin to her face, laughter bubbling up as she saw just how deeply her words had affected you.
I finally broke you, she thought with amusement, her smile radiant.
You blinked, taken aback but slowly recovering, and then, as if to return the moment, you mouthed the words back to her, words that resonated in her mind just as clearly as if youâd spoken them aloud.
âI love you too.â
In that fleeting moment, the world around you seemed to fall away, leaving only the two of you in a silent, unbreakable connection. Her heart soared as she returned to the center of the stage, her smile brighter than the lights that beamed down on her. The cheers of the crowd, the energy of the performanceâit was all background to the quiet words still echoing in her mind. She had heard them, felt them, and knew them to be true.
And as the music played on, those words played in her heart, over and over, a melody just for the two of you.

MASTERLIST
Flashes were leaving you kind of blind right now. You and Oscar were invited to the Cannes festival because one of your best friends from the industry, Zendaya, invited you and your boyfriend to live the experience and see the premier of The Joker 2 movie - you absolutely adored Lady Gaga. Obviously you were so excited to be here. It was the both of you first time at the festival.
Photographers screamed at you to get pictures and made you look at them. It was a thrilling experience. You were more comfortable than Oscar with this. You came into the spotlight when you were only 17 years old with your first song that went viral on musically (TikTok of the past).
For that reason you were used to scrutiny that the media put you under. Social media was cruel to you. Everyone had an opinion on you and who you dated or not.
Oscar and you met back in 2023 when he was a rookie in formula one. You met at a party thrown in Monaco when you were on vacation. One of your friends knew Lando so you basically met because of him.
When you met Oscar you just couldnât help but become obsessed with his Australian accent and his smile. Oh god - his smile. You fell in love with him right there hearing him giggle. You were completely flattered and he found you so adorable.
The chemistry between you two was unmatched. The way you both knew what you were thinking just by a look. The way he knew what you needed when you needed it. The way he knew his tongue will make you crumble on the bed. The way he made you grab the sheets until your knuckles went white. He was the most handsome guy youâve ever seen. The hottest. And the sweetest soul in this world. Or at least in your world. The way he made you laugh was the serotonin you always needed to feel the happiest. And oh he knew it. He knew it all. He knew everything about you and he loved being your weakness as much as he enjoyed being yours.
Because of you being used to the spot lite. You knew it was best if you kept your thing a secret. He was new into all of the media mess and you didnât want to be part of that. You didnât want people to tear him down the way they did to you. You wanted to protect him. So he agreed to maintain your relationship a secret. You felt bad though. You wanted to scream to the world that you were his. And that he was yours. But you couldnât let people destroy what you have. even as much as it hurt you.
Having a secret was nerve racking to you. You didnât know when or how people could find out about your romance. Its was very stressful. But you had the time of your lives. It turned out to be even fun. A little tempting. You two always joked around and pretended to be friends or you hid where cameras couldnât catch you. Most times you couldnât be with him at the races and he couldnât assist to your concerts when you went on tour. And that was the hardest part. Not being able to enjoy what he loved the most with him and viceversa. That broke you a little.
After being dating for a year already - you committed a mistake. You went to charleâs birthday party in Monaco. And the pictures went up online. The secret was over and the internet went mad about it. Everybody was talking about you two. Most comments were negative. People hated you two were together and happy.
Thatâs when you had your first panic attack. You knew how mc claren fans were about Oscar. They were so protective. He was the lover boy. The single one. The one everybody wanted. And now he wasnât. He was yours. And the world hated it.
They called you so many things. Slut was the nicest comment on your comment section. Media was dragging you. Now everybody hated you. Since those photos came out you were the most hated person on the internet.
You and Oscar had such a rough time. He couldnât bear how people could be so mean to you. He was hurt as much as you were. People were saying he was too good for you. But he thought otherwise. You were too good even for this cruel world. You didnât deserve any of that shit. He was mad. The races after the pictures went up he almost didnât do media. He answered shortly and with a poker face. He didnât want to be part of it. And it didnât matter. The only things that matter were you and what he did in the car. There were no need for further questions. People started hating on him for that. They said you were the problem. You made him mean and boring. You stole his light. They werenât letting you win.
And you couldnât believe what they said. In a world of boys he was such a gentlemen. The most caring and loving and empathic man youâve ever known. People are cruel, so cruel. Your heart was broken.
But that didnât end you. You knew you were end game. You were meant to be with each other. There wasnât other way in this life. It was him. He was the one. The love you felt for each other was immense. You could get through this.
And you did.
âYou okay baby?â He put you out of your thoughts with his sweet raspy voice intensifying his grip on you. You smiled widely at him. He smiled back at you. And in that moment you remembered why you were end game. You didnât care about what people said. The only thing that mattered was him and you. Only you two against the whole world.
And if that meant to be a slut then it would be worth it for once. You didnât care anymore. You would be the bitch of the country for him. And you know he would love it. He would love to see that people were mad in the head hating on you knowing how amazing you were. And only he did know. The world was gonna be fucked. You two were crazy thatâs right. And crazy for each other too. What a thing you came to the Joker 2 premier.
You looked deep into his eyes âIâm all alright my pretty boyâ you said quirky and he couldnât resist it. He kissed you in front of the hundreds of cameras there were. You smiled in his lips. You were flustered. Red. He was the boy of your dreams. You really wanted a family with that man. He was everything to you. Photographers lost their shit there. The flashes intensified. And you felt so happy to be so open. To be real there with him. To not hide anymore.
You would take all of the hate of the world on your shoulders and enjoy it if that ment you two were gonna be together forever.
He giggled in your lips pulling apart. That melted your heart. You grabbed your dress a little so you could walk and he offered his hand. You took it and intertwined your fingers walking a little more into the red carpet. Lando and his girlfriend were ahead next to you on the carpet and they looked at you with a huge a smile. They also knew everything.
You could feel Oscar feeling so happy and proud to have you by his side.
âEnd game babyâ he said proudly posing for the camaras grabbing you by the waist.
You fixed your hair a little smiling and posing âend game my baby boyâ you said lovely making him kiss your head.

Astrology Notes...
đ»The house your Neptune is in, is the area your prophetic dreams are usually centered around i.e. Neptune in 6th house can be insight on career or health.
đ»8th house natives may not enjoy sex as commonly believed, but may merely view it as their best escape from deep seated issues(especially applies to moon, venus or mars in 8th house).
đ»Moon square Jupiter natives can heavily struggle with being consistent in their lives.
đ»Having a Cancer or Libra Mars at Aries 1°,13°,25° degrees can ease off the passive aggressive energy.
đ»Gemini moons are some of the most intelligent people you'll ever meet.
đ»Mercury in hard aspect to Saturn is the aspect of geniuses.
đ»8° and 20° personal placements tend to be more mysterious than Scorpio placements...insane if you have both.
đ»A 6th house, 6° or 18° Jupiter or Neptune can indicate the gift of being a healer.
đ»Saturn afflictions are a blessing in disguise as Saturn isn't just a life sentence of anguish, but a testimony that beautiful things take time. Don't feel unlucky over those personal placement-Saturn squares/oppositions.
đ»The degree your Saturn is in can either be an indicator of the area of your life that takes time to yield amazing results or is the things that reward you for a long time e.g a 29° Saturn can mean being in the spotlight for a long time.
đ»Moon in 8th house synastry may have an uncomfortable element if both people aren't ready to fully let each other in. This is because the partners seem to always know what's going on with the other or seem to have an awareness of the other's vices, past etc and this may be uncomfortable without mutual consent to access these things.

The days in England have become more boring with time. Y/N was losing her mind over the repetitive routine that follows the life of a college student. Work, study, beer with close friends and bed. So when her mother invited her for a family dinner, she worried about how excited she got with the event. It wasnât supposed to be anything special, just her parents and a few of their close friends gathered to catch up over nice food.Â
Coming home felt way too good. Itâs a feeling most college students get when they go back to their hometown, leaving their crappy flat in university to be served with their parents pampering during their quick visit. Y/N was supposed to be back to her place in just a couple of days, but she felt satisfied to be in a different place than the four walls of her house. Not to mention that she was having a good laugh with everyone at the table.
Her mother always takes dinner parties to another level, serving the best food in her special crockery, saved for moments like this. So Y/N packed a nice new outfit; a cute long-sleeved dress that looked perfect with tights and heels. Not that the guests cared about how she was dressed, but it felt nice to look beautiful and all put together for once after months of hoodies and leggings.
As usual, her parents invited the Norris family, as theyâve been the best of friends for the longest time. Not only they lived next to each other for years back when she was younger, all of their kids were really close friends with Y/N. But the spotlight always goes to Lando, who is the same age as her, making them grow up attached to the hip.
They all grew up going to the same school, not to mention that she would always tag along in Lando and his brotherâs karting sessions, having the best time watching them drive flawlessly on tracks. He always enjoyed the times when sheâd steal her parents cameras so they could make some homemade videos of their time together. Or when they would sit back, watch their dads play golf every Saturday and share candies in the cart.Â
Y/N and Lando have been inseparable since the age of four, growing up side by side, going through everything together. She was so important to him that, when he joined Formula 1 and had to choose a number to race, he chose the age the two of them had become friends.Â
âThe number four is for my best friend, Y/N. She was the one to suggest it, and the meaning behind it is very cute. Actually, I donât want to tell you to not spoil anything, but I can only say that itâs very dear to my heartâ, Lando said once in an interview during his second season in F1, making every single one of his fans curious about the meaning.
But itâs been a while since the infamous duo had been together. They supported each other from afar; Y/N sometimes joining him for race weekends and Lando coming back to see her on birthdays and weekends in London, while he visited the McLaren factory. But the last time they had been together was four months ago, during summer break, when he dragged her to join him for his crazy trips around the world. When racing and university was back on, they lost a little bit of touch; almost no calls and only a few texting breaks so they wouldnât fall apart.
A lot happened in those four months. Lando had a new gorgeous girlfriend; a model who everyone had become obsessed with her TikTok videos for beauty tips. They had been seen together a few times around the world, her joining him for the races and a lot of make-outs behind DJ booths at parties. Y/N, on the other hand, was lacking in the dating department. But the friends she made over the past year made everything worthy. After years of pretty much having Lando as her only very close friend, she finally found new people to go out and have fun as a normal 20-year-old.
With that, Y/N and Landoâs friendship got weird. He had been avoiding her for a while, with the excuse of being too busy with racing, but actually not wanting to talk about his personal life with someone who knew him like the palm of her hand. Meanwhile, she was having a good time with her friends to be bothered by anything. But lately, life had become more boring and Y/N felt like having Lando back would bring some more fun into her life again, with all the epic parties and the good times they always managed to happen.
âOnly one month leftâ, she thought, as winter break was approaching, meaning that Lando would finally be free to come home for the holidays.
She was pushed out of her thoughts by Adam Norris, who now seemed interest in Y/Nâs life after a long catching up with her dad. âTell us more about college! Are you having fun? Learning anything special?â, he asked with a kind smile.
âOh, Iâm graduating this spring, so itâs been⊠roughâ, she chuckled. âBut everything has been amazing, you know? The internship is so cool and the people are nice as wellâ.
âI just canât believe it will all be over soonâ, his wife, Cisca, responded. âIt feels like it was just yesterday when you joined uni and Lando started his first season in F1. Time really flies, uhm?â
Every mention of his name made Y/N smile like a fool. But lately, it has been accompanied by a ting of pain on her chest. God, she missed him so much.
âWhat is it that you miss?â, Cisca asked, pulling Y/N out of her thoughts. Shit, did she say that out loud?
âI said I missed your pie so much, Cis. You know I have always loved it growing upâ, Y/N tried to cover it up by stuffing her mouth with the cheesy pie, trying to keep her thoughts of being spoken out loud. But something caught her by surprise.
âYeah, mumâs pie is the best in the world, isnât it?â, a male voice said from behind her, one that she hadnât heard in person for a while. Her eyes widened when she realized who it was, only to turn around and see Lando standing right behind her tugged into his signature comfortable hoodie, with a giant smile plastered on his face, and a bouquet in his hands. âSurprise!â
Y/N brought her hands up to her mouth, trying not to cry at the sight. She couldnât believe what was standing in front of her. So she jumped out of her seat and jumped into his arms, not caring about anyone else in the room or the flowers being crumpled up in his hands. Lando buried his nose in her hair, taking in her scent, making him feel at ease for once
âWhat are you doing here?â, she leaned back, holding his face between her hands. His soft eyes looked down at her, his smile never faltering.
âI thought I could surprise my best girlâ, he admitted, digging one of his hands into her hips, making her securely close to him. âI had a break before the end of the season, and it had been so longâŠâ
âShut up, you idiot. I just want to hug youâ, she cut him mid-sentence, burying her face in his neck, making his smile even wider, if that was possible. Everyone on the table laughed at her reaction, but let them have their moment after months without seeing each other. It felt too good to be true.Â
âI missed you so muchâ, he whispered in her ear, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head.
âI missed you too. Welcome home, Lanâ, she leaned back and kissed his cheek, making it tinted red. Lando was so cute when he blushed. âYou brought me flowers! How cute is this?â
She took the giant bouquet filled with red and pink roses out of his hands, bringing it close to her body. âItâs an apology for not being here as much as I shouldâ, he said, making her heart so warm with the thoughtful gift.
âYou being here is enoughâ, she pressed another kiss to his cheek and quickly pulled him for another hug. They just couldnât get enough of each other.
âAlright, we all know you both really miss each other, but you can catch up after dinner. Food is getting cold and poor Lando must be starvingâ, her mother cut them off, making Y/N look back at the table, her face burning in embarrassment. He laughed at her behavior and pulled the chair next to her so they could sit together.
Through the whole dinner, Lando told all of his amazing stories traveling the world, leaving all the âbest friends onlyâ parts for later, when he would be alone with Y/N. She felt so happy to finally have him by her side, making fun of her table manners, resting his hand on her knee and cracking any bad jokes just to see her roll her eyes. And even though he lived those many adventures, Lando knew life couldnât get better than having his favourite person in the world back on his side.
âSo, Lando, what finally brings you back home?â, Y/Nâs father asked, making him shrug.
âYou know, the championship couldâve been better and I feel really tired, you know?â, Lando searched for his best friendâs hand under the table, entwining their fingers once they met. Then he looked at her with an adoring smile on his face. âI just need some recharging. Thought I could use some home time before the last few races of the yearâ.
âYouâre always welcomed to recharge in our house if you want to, Landoâ, her mother said before the conversation was taken somewhere else once again.
While everyone else chatted, Y/N and Lando updated their phone gallery with new pictures of them. A lot of cute selfies and pictures of their homemade dinner which soon found their place on their Instagrams.

fanacc1 FINALLY SOME Y/N AND LANDO CONTENT
fanacc2 Wasnât him dating a model?
âȘfanacc3 He is, but Y/N is his childhood best friend
fanacc4 ugh, if i was his gf, i would be so jealous of them together
âȘfanacc5 I bet his girlfriend actually hates them
fanacc6 Does this mean more Y/N around the paddock?
The dinner was coming to an end with the delicious sweet treats they prepared for dessert. At that point, Lando and Y/N were just existing at the conversation. He slipped an arm around her shoulder and she found a comfortable spot to lean into him and keep sipping on her wine while they shared a slice of cake. But even though they were quiet, they surely werenât tired. So as the rest of the adults continued with their chat, they took their glasses of wine to the backyard, just so they could have some alone time.
Lando chuckled when he saw what was still standing strong in her backyard. âYou still have our old treehouse?â, he asked and she nodded excitedly. âWow, it looks so much nicer than beforeâ.
âItâs because I renovated it, you fool. Havenât I told you?â, she asked, but Lando shook his head. âOh my⊠you have to see this! Now itâs a grown up treehouse! Take a lookâ.
Y/N dragged him to the small construction and made him climb all the way up to the house. It changed a lot with the renovations. Their wall doodles from when they were little kids were preserved by a varnish coat on the wood. She also substituted the old toys for books and her collection of vinyls, making the place look extra cozy. There was even a table for afternoon tea and card games, a TV and a huge futon, with lots of cushions, so they could just lie down and spend the rest of the day hidden from the world.
âWhat a glow up!â, he joked. âI loved it. This is amazingâ, Lando took a place next to the window, where the moonlight invaded the room. Y/N sat next to him and almost immediately pulled out her camera just to capture the moment. And just like old times, they had fun doing a tiny photoshoot together, only to be cut off by his mom, calling them from the ground.
âAre you coming, Lando?â, Cisca asked, making him look over to Y/N, who replied for him.
âIâm not letting him go anywhere, Ciscaâ, she joked, throwing her arms around Lando, making his mother laugh. âDonât worry, Iâll take good care of your sonâ.
âHave fun you twoâ, they waved at her and sighed after finally being left alone for a proper catching up between best friends. Lando had a satisfied smile on his face and he felt so calm at that moment. He threw both of his arms around his best friend and hugged her tightly.
âHome, at lastâ, his cheek was pressed on the side of her face, making her giggle with the contact. âI want to know everything going on with you. Just blurt it all out. I owe you thisâ.
âOh, nothing great happenedâ, she shrugged. âNothing that you didnât know already. The internship is nice, but itâs coming to an end soon and Iâm not sure theyâll keep me with them. And college is almost finished, so thatâs kind of bittersweetâ.
âI thought you were excited to have a degreeâ, he said, making her sigh. âAre you not happy about graduating?â
âOf course I am. You more than anyone knows how important this is to meâ, she answered. âAnd I made so many good friends and Iâve been having the best time with them. I know graduating will make us grow apartâ.
âEndings arenât always nice, uhm? But you have to look at the bright side of thingsâ, he started. âYouâre finally achieving something great and you managed to have a really good time along the way. Made friends and worked really hard to become the best professional out there. Iâm so proud of you!â
Lando has always been her biggest supporter on pursuing her academic path. He remembers all the talks they had about her wanting to master in communications. While he didnât get to finish school to up his game in racing, he was there for every step his best friend took until enrolling in university. So when they talk about it, he always has that beautiful proud smile on his face, to which Y/N loved seeing.
âThank youâ, she smiled shyly. âAnd what about you, Mr Worldwide? Youâve been everywhere these past months. How was it?â
âOh, always amazingâ, he beamed. âI got to see so many amazing places around the world. You wouldâve loved all the clubs I went to. The DJ booths are amazing. Oh, and the golf courts⊠breathtakingâ.
âYeah, I saw all the picturesâ, Y/N arched her brows and rolled her eyes. âYou didnât even bother on calling, telling me about your adventuresâ.
âSorry, I lacked in that departmentâ, he apologized. âEven though everything has been amazing, Iâm so tired of this year. I couldâve done better on the track and the last few races have been exhausting. I knew that I needed to recharge before the last two races, so I came back to youâ.
âItâs always a pleasure to have you homeâ, she ran her hand through his curls and smiled. Lando always saw Y/N as his home. She always brings him that sense of familiarity, and her absence in his travels around the world were taking a toll on him.
Not to mention that hiding a big secret from his best friend also wasnât doing him any good.
âBut Iâm not here to talk about me. I want to know everything about youâ, he poked her side with his index finger and smirked. âAnyone special appeared in your life in the past few months?â
âPleaseâ, she rolled her eyes. âThe last time I had a proper hook up was during our summer trip to Bali with that guy on the clubâ.
âCome on, it canât be that badâ, he giggled, but Y/Nâs face was burning in embarrassment.
âI had a few dates in the past months, but fuck me, they were annoyingâ, Lando laughed at her statement. âOne of them found out youâre my best friend and spent the entire time asking questions about you. And the only guy who was actually decent came in his pants when we were making out in his car. Didnât even get to touch meâ.Â
âOh, poor youâ, he giggled. âSo no boy to be my new best friend? I mean, come on, we need more male energy in this friendshipâ.
âSorry, Lan. No boyfriend this timeâ, she said. âYou, on the other hand, started dating this gorgeous model and forgot to tell me about everything.â
And there she said it: the topic Lando had been avoiding the most throughout the whole night. He really didnât want to talk about it with Y/N, because his big secret had been hiding right there. He knew he couldnât, and didnât want to, lie about anything to her. And he also knew that he really needed to vent about this secret with her as well.
Lando turned really quiet, and looked away, avoiding her eyes. âDonât start now, Y/N. I mean, thereâs not much to say, to be fairâ, he mumbled.
âCome on, I want to know everything about the woman who stole my bestieâs heartâ, she poked him, but Lando didnât dare to look Y/N in the eyes. âI mean, everybody loves her and she seems sweet. Why donât you want to tell me about her?â
âBecause weâre not togetherâ.
âWhat do you mean? Iâve seen the Instagram pictures and the gossip pages posting videos of you two kissing in the club. I thought you were becoming a thingâ.
âY/N, donât push itâ, he asked, his voice bargaining on his throat.
âWhy donât you want to tell me about her?â
âBecause weâre not together, I told youâ, he sighed. âSheâs a PR stunt. Sheâs not my girlfriend, and itâs been consuming me from the inside ever since we started this little thingâ.
Lando finally looked her in the eyes and Y/N saw them brimming with tears. As an immediate response, she rested a hand on his arm and waited until he was ready to talk more. He leaned into her touch and the tears started to stream down his face. Heâs never one to cry for anything, so the tears meant that it was so much more than he was letting show. Her heart broke at the sight of her best friend.
âIs this why you look more tired than usual?â, Y/N asked and he nodded, making the tears fall harder. âOh, Lan⊠Come hereâ.
She pulled his head to rest on her chest and Lando wrapped his arms around her, needing some sort of comfort. He didnât say much for a couple of minutes after, feeling his heart aching on his chest. He wanted to talk about everything with Y/N, because he knew she would understand him. He always feels vulnerable and safe enough to talk about anything with his best friend.Â
âEverything is so fucked up, Y/Nâ, Lando cried out. âGod, I canât take this fake relationship anymore. Do you know how disgusting it feels to pretend to be in love with someone youâre not? And to lie to everyone, hiding it from my parents. From you. I canât stand itâ
âIâm sure you have a good reason to be doing soâ, she said, fingers running through his curls and making him sure that she was right there with him. Y/N felt his fingers clinging tighter onto her. âYouâre just doing your job and thatâs okay. This wonât last foreverâ.
âI feel so lonely, you know? I was doing so bad on the last few races and I missed home so much. I missed talking to my dad and hugging my mom. I missed making fun of my sisters and going for a drive with my brother. And I missed you so much. I wish I could just stay here for a long whileâ.
âSoon youâll get to be here for as long as you want, babyâ, Y/N pressed a kiss on top of his head and Lando sighed in comfort. It ached a little less with her there. âAnd weâll get to spend so much time together. You can come over and weâll have sleepovers. We can take the car, drive around and go clubbing until sunrise. Whatever you wantâ.
âGod, it would be so easy if it was youâ, he whispered, still holding onto her as if his life depended on it. What did he mean with that? Just those single words made Y/Nâs heart skip a beat. Truth is, while her heart ached for her best friend, she was relieved heâs not in love with someone else. Did he have feelings for her?Â
âYou know, I looked over my so-called girlfriend one night while we were hanging out at the club and I wanted to shout to everyone that it was all an act. Sheâs like a solid reminder of how lonely I am all the damn time. Itâs ridiculousâ, he grunted.Â
âCome on, look at meâ, Y/N pulled his face to look up and held his head between her hands. âLan, you are never alone, okay? Even if you feel like you are, and even if Iâm not there physically, you know that Iâm always with you. Iâm right hereâ, she rested a hand over his heart, making him smile through his tears. âI've been in your heart since the moment we metâ.
âIâŠâ, he started, but couldnât get to say the rest. After all this time, Lando was afraid that the next move would ruin their friendship forever. But looking her in the eyes, comforting him through this rough time, he knew she felt the same. âI love you, Y/Nâ.
She was expecting anything. âI knowâ, maybe. That was so much bigger than what she imagined. Lando had said he loved her countless times over the years theyâve known each other; after all, they grew up together, almost like brother and sister. But this time, it was different. Y/N knew it, and Lando knew it too.
Y/N was too stunned to speak, so he continued with his confession. âI always have, you know? And I only hid everything from you because I canât lie to you. And because I thought youâd never look at me the same way if you found outâ.
âLando, IâŠâ she stopped mid-sentence, trying to catch some air. âFuck, this is a lot. Just wait a secondâ.
They giggled together and he leaned his forehead against hers. âItâs okay to not say anything right now. I just dropped a giant bomb on your lap. This wasnât the way I wanted to confess to you, but I just couldnât keep it to myself anymoreâ.
âAre you saying this because youâre emotional? Because I swear to God, if you are, Iâm gonna kill you for misleading meâ, her eyes were brimming with tears and Lando whipped them away.
âIâm telling you the truthâ, he assured. âI think Iâve loved you my entire life. With all the crazy things Iâve experienced in my life, you were the only constant. Youâre home, Y/Nâ.
âWhy didnât you tell me before?â, she asked and he took a deep breath.
âBecause I was afraid of losing you. Scared this might ruin our friendship somehowâ, he admitted. âYouâre the most precious thing in my life. Do you know how scary it is to fall in love with your best friend when youâre just a kid? And then grow up, and those feelings never go away, just getting stronger every day. I just didnât want to lose youâ.
âYou werenât going to lose me, Lanâ, her eyes softened at his confession and now he was the one wiping her tears. Y/N brought him back for a hug and even though he didnât have an answer, deep down he knew she felt the same.
âIâve loved you since we were four. Thereâs a reason why I always carry this number with meâ, Lando confessed. âGod, look what you do to me. I never cryâ.
âYou only cry for the important thingsâ, she reminded. âThatâs why I love you, Lando. Iâve been in love with you for my entire life too, idiotâ.
His eyes widened as he looked up to her, who had a smirk plastered on her face. âCan I kiss you?â, Lando asked, but before she could properly shake her head in agreement, he crashed his lips into hers. He needed to be home, and Y/N has always been home for him. It was the most intense kiss they ever had, like years of lingering had finally paid off for both of them.
Lando pulled her closer with a hand on the back of her head. She wrapped her fingers around his neck, smiling into his lips. Then, as if it wasn't enough, he pulled her to sit on lap, making them closer somehow. She slowed down the pace, making the kiss needier and more delicious. Lando even let out a satisfied throaty moan, his heart speeding on his chest. Her touches made him feral, knowing that after years of pinning, he finally had his dream girl.
âThank you for thisâ, he whispered against her lips, a wide and satisfied smile on his face. âThank you for all the years, all the times you've been here for me, to tell me everything is going to be alright.â
âAlways, Lanâ, she played with the hairs on his nape. âI love you so muchâ.
âI love you too. So muchâ, he left one more peck on her lips before hugging her again. âI don't know what I'd do without youâ.
âYeah, me tooâ.
The story of how they fell in love with each other was long, but beautiful. Lando and Y/N sat in that tree house all night and shared all of those stories with each other. And for a second, he really believed everything was going to work out. After all, if he had Y/N, Lando would be just fine.

SOMETIMES YOU WONDERED IF ANYTHING YOU SAID EVER STUCK WITH KEN. For the past year and a half, you had the supposed âdream lifeâ that every assistant yearned for. It confused you, really, as you tried to ponder on what part of your job was envious. Were the late nights drafting NDA breaches so desirable? What about the press statements after altercations, were those rĂ©sumĂ© worthy? You let out a deep sigh as you watched Ken from the TV in his dressing room, crossing your arms as you sunk deeper into the couch.
He was on a press tour for his latest collaboration, his overconfident persona charming everyone left and right. You had to physically stop yourself from rolling your eyes when he used his signature flair to charm the showâs host. At least he was sticking to the script⊠for the most part. He wore the product, threw in a few adlibs, and of course, flirted. Be it a talk show host or a random photographer on the street, Ken always found a way to leave people smitten with him- save except you.Â
Itâs not like you were actively trying to hate him, he just made it so easy. At first you thought it was just some awkward phase, like he was just trying to adjust to working with a new team. But then he just kept doing the same things over and over again. A brawl with an opposing team member? Just another Sunday night. A rumor about having a fling with yet another supermodel? Sounds just about right.Â
âI mean of course I have to thank my team,â Kenâs voice cut through your train of thought. âIt was a dream of mine to play for the Giants as a kid, now I actually get to do it.â
Tone it down, asshole. You thought to yourself, noting the sarcasm laced in his words. Of course the general public wouldnât have caught on, but you had no doubt his coach and the other players would. Then again, heâd been relatively untouchable because of his rank in the sports world. You poked your tongue into your cheek, shaking your head as you sat through the rest of his interview. The clock on the wall counted down the remaining time, the bright red numbers casting a reflection on the screen. Two minutes left, and all he had to do was to keep the act upâŠ
âŠUntil he didnât. Nothing couldâve prepared you for what was about to happen next.Â
âNow I donât want to hold here any longer, but you know I have to ask it,â The host teased, almost like an overexcited child ready to tattle. âAny special someone back home?âÂ
Ken chuckled, just like he usually did when asked the question. âCheeky question,â He paused and grinned, his eyebrow raised slightly as he shrugged his shoulders. âWhat if there was?âÂ
âWell, is there?â The host pushed, his tone eager to have the Ken Sato answer such a juicy question. He gestured toward the crowd before he continued. âI mean there are a lot of fans here today who would love to know moreâŠâÂ
âYeah? And if I said yes, then what?â He replied, his smile growing brighter and his eyes shining.Â
The crowd cheered even harder, itching to find out the truth. You shared the same sentiments, trying to figure out what the hell Ken was up to now. Did he have a girlfriend? If he did, why didnât anyone know about it? You stood up straight now, your right hand deathly gripping the remote. What the hell do you have up your sleeve, Kenji Sato? Your inner voice seemed to yell as you waited for him to speak up.Â
âI mean only time will tell, yeah?â The host replied, leaning back in his seat. âCâmon Ken, itâs not nice to keep secrets.â
Ken mimicked the hostâs moves, leaning back into his sofa chair as well. He shrugged his shoulders, licking his lips as he fiddled with his fingers. He bit the inside of his cheek, and though it was brief you caught it. You knew that look; his look of contemplation. Your grip on the remote was still taut as your breathing seemed to quicken the longer he waited. Granted it was only a few seconds, but those seconds felt like hours.Â
He tilted his head slightly then, his eyes staring directly at the camera. It slowly zoomed closer to focus entirely on him, and he let out a small laugh before he finally replied. His gaze was strong, and it almost felt like he was actually looking at you.
âYeah, yeah I do.â He finally said, throwing in a lovesick smile for good measure. âAnd sheâs the best damn thing in my life right now.â

â hate is a strong word.
pairing: moze x gn!reader
premise: your relationship with moze could be summarized with three simple words; "i hate you." but you can only deny so much when the word "hate" also means "love" in both of your books.
â warings: mentions of blood and daggers, ooc (?) moze (i have not started the quest at all LMAO)
â author's note: for my dearest @lowkeyren @st6rly @ughscara and @tragedy-of-commons aka my fellow normal moze stans <3333 art credits to @.code_tesseract on twitter!! | ~500 words.
âi hate you.â perfectly surmised your relationship with a fellow assassin. the words are hastily and carelessly uttered with one another at any given moment, one would assume its your way of showing your affection. and they arenât wrong.
âi hate you.â you mutter under your breath as you lay on the grass. your arm bleeding as moze rolled his eyes and threw a roll of bandages into your stomach. the regret of making a blood oath with the kid whoâs been stealing your spot as the greatest assassin prodigy was starting to kick in. the realization that you and he are now forever tethered; past, present, and future lives are now spent trying to one-up each other. you donât know if you want to laugh or cry. moze always seemed to throw away all your logic out of the window with just a glare.
âi hate you.â he grumbles when the two of you are unfortunately paired up for a mission. with a click of your tongue, you jump from roof to roof to try and lose him. split up, you said, it would be faster, but moze would always tug you back by the collar of your shirt and lay down his plans.
âi hate you.â you mumble as he throws your arm over his shoulders. âgood to know youâre still kicking.â you scoff at him and try to pull away but it only makes mozeâs grip on your waist and arm tighter.
âdo you want to die?â he angrily counters and you click your tongue. âif it isnât by your hands, no, no i donât.â
moze hated how you made his ears ring with such simple words. to bystanders âoutsiders of your relationshipâ they would be concerned, but to moze, it was a declaration of the highest affection.Â
âthen donât die now,â he mutters. âyour life is mine to take.â
ânot if i take yours first.â
to everyone, it was clear as day that you two hated each other with a burning passion that would rival the sun.
yes, hate was a strong word, but what else could describe the burning in his chest whenever you pin him to the wall? his dagger in your hand as you press it to the apple of his throat, your eyes narrowed down into a nasty glare while your tone drips venom from the tips of your teeth. moze hated the way your body always gravitated towards him; you were the planet that revolved around him out of necessity and want.Â
it was hatred and it always will be.
you will always hate moze for constantly stealing your spotlight; your daggers and cloaks; his blood that stuck to you like glue, forever reminding you of your oath; the hoodie he always used to shield you from the rain; iron clawed fingers that always brushed over your lips; and the eyes that always spelled âi want youâ in every and any language known to the universe.Â
it was impossible not to hate each other. and even more impossible to say âi love youâ before every mission when the words âhateâ and âloveâ are so intertwined they start to bleed into each other.Â
âi hate you.â you say as you shove at his chest. moze rolls his eyes and pulls your mask to hide your face. âi hate you more.â
