Can you give us a little dialogue prompt of the pillow talk between Auston and Carson when they're up early and feeling super lovey?
Pleaseeeeee ok but thinking about timeline wise this upcoming fall/winter Carson becomes pregnant again with Carter and she faces a lot of health issues during this pregnancy and it’s really tough and stressful for the Matthews fam. But imagine a morning, it’s the first in like a week that Auston’s back home from being on the road and it’s an off day, so even longer since the last time he was able to just chill at home with his girls but he still wakes up early and usually Carson wakes up around the same time but she’s noticeably been so exhausted and so she’s still asleep beside him and Auston’s careful not to wake her. Instead he turns down the monitor on his bedside table so it’s loud enough that he can hear if Mia wakes up, but not loud enough to wake Carson up. Then he rolls onto his side to face Carson and just observes her for a bit. She looks so peaceful and calm and it’s been a while since he saw her looking so relaxed, which he hates and so he makes it a personal mission to ensure she can stay relaxed and rest now that he’s home and then Carson stirs awake and catches him looking at her and so she asks what’s on his mind and like she knows he’s been worried about her and then Auston says he wants to take care of her today and Carson tells him she’s fine and that he doesn’t need to and he just asks her to let him. And so Carson kinda sighs in defeat and looks at him knowing there’s no point in arguing and she does appreciate his efforts and so she just reaches over to nudge his arm playfully then tells him she loves him and he says it back and then they’re just all soft and lovey as they catch up just the two of them before Mia wakes up

Telling Mom and Dad
Part three: telling mom and dad
Tumblr media
Summary: pretty much what it sounds like
Warnings: angst, swearing maybe? Some steam I think
Author’s Note: i’m glad that this one’s getting some love, I’m actually very much enjoying writing this series. I think mostly because they’re short and I don’t have to think too much on them -- they’re more like blurbs I guess. But they’re fun. Hope you keep reading what I write and that you enjoy it! Thanks loves!
P.S. The whole Mamì thing might get taken out because I’m not sure how i feel about it but let me know if it sounds weird or creepy and that’ll help me make up my mind about it.
You had finally agreed to talk to Ema and Brian about the pregnancy. Auston assured you it would be fine, that there wouldn’t be any judgement from them but that didn’t stop you from thinking of the worst possible scenario.
“Look, your parents love you. They won’t want you to ruin your life with this…” you said as you paced back and forth, “what if they force you to leave me?” Auston rushed to you, wrapping you in a warm, reassuring hug
“They won’t do that. Even if they said it, I wouldn’t listen,” his hands rubbed up and down your back, trying to soothe you, “I love you too much…” You finally pulled away, faking a smile as you walked into the kitchen, away from Auston.
“Are we going to go to Arizona? Or they coming to Toronto?”
“They’ll come here…” he hesitated, “that way we can escape if we need to.” His words made you smile and you let out a sigh of release. You were also glad that his sisters wouldn’t be there -- they had never really taken to you; the age gap was a problem for them. You just weren’t prepared to cater to them as well during this confession. Auston called his parents and you heard him greet his mom happily, so you crept around the corner to spy on him, watching his face light up with every response Ema was giving him. When he was finally off the phone, he rushed over to you and told you they’d be in Toronto the following week.
  “That’s so soon!”
“It gives us a little time to sort out any questions we think they might ask…”
“Aus, babe, I don’t think they’re going to ask any question other than, ‘how?’ or like why…”
“Just trust me baby, we’ll be fine.” You tilted your head, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek gently
“You better be right…” you whispered in his ear, sending a chill down his spine and you felt his hands grip your waist a little tighter but you pushed them away, turning on your heels to walk away when Auston slapped your ass and you let out a small squeal.
“Get back over here and do something about it” he teased and you shook your head, teasing him right back, swaying your hips back and forth as you sauntered away. When you got to the kitchen sink, you could feel his eyes on you and when you turned to look at him, his eyes were dark and lustful.
“Auston?” you said cautiously and he pushed himself off the couch where he was leaning, his large gait getting him to you quicker than you could move away
“What do you say we go upstairs?” his one hand found your waist while the other snaked through your hair and his thumb swiped across your cheek, “take advantage of the alone time we have together. Before my parents get here, before Baby comes…” You were kind of entranced by the way his thumbs moved across your skin so featherlightly and your breath was staying in your throat; you hadn’t even thought about the fact that your sex life might potentially completely vanish during the pregnancy and you wanted to pounce on him right then and there. Still, no words came from your throat, only moans and whimpers, which Auston smiled proudly at, grabbing your thighs to wrap your legs around his waist and carry you upstairs. Your lips connected to his immediately, locking him into a heated kiss that almost distracted him enough to crash into the wall opposite his bedroom but he managed to get both of you safely to the bed, placing you down gently. He lifted your arms up so he could pull your shirt off but you put your arms down to take his shirt off first, biting your lip as you stood up to press your chest against his body.
“I want to strip for you…” you said, now unbuckling his belt and moving him so he was sitting on the bed, he just nodded; his silence was his approval. You began a small strip tease for him but when the silence made it 100 times more awkward, you went to put on some music. That’s when you saw Ema’s message on your phone.
“Excited to see you, my dear, it’s been so long!” your heart sunk slightly, wondering if her feelings to you would still be the same after you told her you were pregnant
“I’m excited to see you too, Ema!” you typed back, biting the inside of your cheek nervously
“What’s going on?” Auston called from the bed, leaning forward when he saw the nerves on your face
“I’m talking to your mom…” you answered and before you knew it, he was beside you, peering over your shoulder
“We’ll all go out for a nice dinner, maybe go see a show? Just spending time with each other is good for us. We miss you both, Mija.”
“She ruined the mood didn’t she?” Auston mumbled as he kissed the top of your head. All you could do was nod. She had ruined the mood but only because the idea of her texting while you were stripping for her son felt a little too… invasive.
“I’m sorry, Aus…” you finally said, turning to give him a hug, holding there for a minute before you felt him kiss your cheek.
“Nah, it’s okay. Just know…” he warned, “the longer you wait to have sex, the more likely it’ll be that you don’t get it…” You furrowed your brow and laughed at him, knowing he was probably right but you weren’t feeling it anymore. Your phone dinged one more time but this time it was a text from Brian
“See you soon, girlie” you smiled at his nickname for you
“Looking forward to it” you typed slowly, unsure if those were the words you really wanted to send, you wandered over to the bed with your phone and cuddled next to Auston. A few minutes later you got a reply from Brian
“Auston said you two have some news for us? Ema and I are trying to see if we can guess it before we see you… lol”
“YOU TOLD HIM?!” you shouted to your boyfriend, noticing his eyes go wide and his face attempt to find an excuse, settling on “just that we had news, not what the news was…” which earned a smack from you before you shoved him back; now clearly annoyed at his presence.
You and Auston stood outside the Airport terminal waiting for Ema and Brian, you faced Auston with your arms wrapped tightly around his waist while his fingers interlocked around your waist as he watched the door open and close.
“Is the plane late?” he asked, still watching the doors intently, “it seems to be taking a long time…”
“Auston,” you pulled his chin down so he was looking at you then tucked your arm back around his waist, “everything is fine. It’s probably just crowded..” He smiled at you and nodded, pressing a kiss to your forehead before going back to eyeing the doors, making you laugh and shake your head, nuzzling your head into his chest to warm yourself up from the cold Toronto air. When Auston finally saw his parents walk out of the terminal, his face was overcome with happiness; a huge smile spreading across his cheeks.
“Mamì!” he greeted, pulling Ema in for a tight hug, while Brian walked over to you for a small hug until Auston was free
“(Y/N)!” Ema turned to you, bringing you close for a hug similar to the one she’d just shared with Auston, “you look beautiful! But let’s get into the car. It’s freezing!” you nodded enthusiastically, walking to the car arm-in-arm with Ema; Auston close behind, guiding you with his hand on the small of your back so you didn’t fall. You hopped in the back of the car with Ema while Brian got into the passenger seat
“Everyone in?” Auston checked receiving a round of ‘yeahs’ before heading out of the airport, “so what’s the plan?”
“I thought you were the one with the plan, Papì” Brian laughed, shoving Auston slightly
“I was just checking if there was anything in particular you guys wanted to do while you were here…”
“Let’s settle in first, warm up, then we can go for dinner” Ema responded, pulling you close to her and you noticed Auston eyeing the two of you in the rearview mirror, letting out a small smile.
“Sounds good to me” Brian responded and Auston agreed, while you just nodded to Ema in the backseat. When the four of you got back to Auston’s apartment, his parents dropped off their bags in the guest room as you and Auston wandered into the kitchen, embracing each other, both of you letting out a sigh and giggling as you exhaled
“Hey” he whispered, wrapping his arms around you and swaying you back and forth
“Hey” you whispered back, resting your head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat
“You ready to tell them?” he asked suddenly and you tore your head away from his chest
“We’re not telling them now are we?!” he noticed the panic that was starting to cover your face and he rubbed your arms to calm you down
“No, no, babe, calm down,” his voice was soft, “I just mean.. We’ll probably tell them at dinner, you okay with that?”
“Yeah.. it’s better that way. Public. Little chance of making a scene” you joked and he scrunched his face at you mockingly before leaning down to capture your lips in a soft kiss
“Ooh sorry sorry,” Ema said as she came around the corner, forcing you and Auston to back away from each other, “didn’t mean to interrupt. You two look so cute, don’t mind us.” A blush rose to your cheek and you crept closer to Auston, sinking into his side to hide the colour on your face, he put his arm around you to pull you close to him, a smile growing on his face
“It’s alright Mamì,” he giggled, “we were just taking a breath. Deciding what we should do next, movie or play some board games maybe?” When Ema enthusiastically agreed, you glanced up at Auston and he had a mischievous grin on his face
  “Girls against guys?” he goated
“I’m in, (Y/N), how about you?” Ema answered and you nodded your head in response. Once Brian was in the room, you all sat down and pulled out Monopoly, setting up the board and dividing into teams. Everyone seemed to take it easy for the first round, not wanting to get overly competitive but a few rounds later and Monopoly had turned everyone against each other. This game was evil. After that, the group took corners and cooled down before Brian broke the silence by asking who was hungry, getting nods from the rest of the group. There was still some tension when you got to the restaurant but you tucked yourself into the booth next to Auston, smiling at Ema and Brian to try and make the most of the evening.
“So, anything look good?” Brian asked while everyone looked through the matte pages of the restaurant menu
“Everything looks good to me,” Auston added, “babe, you see anything?”
“Still looking through…” you smiled at him, “Ema?” It was a weird game of back and forth because of the residual tension of Monopoly but after a few glasses of wine, and a cocktail or two, everyone seemed to loosen up.
“I think now is as good a time as any to tell them…” Auston whispered in your ear, “you’re sober, they’re… tipsy, no better time.” You peered into his eyes, to see if he was serious, and he just raised his eyebrows and tipped his head in their direction
“I don’t know Auston, maybe we should wait until everyone is sober. Maybe it’s better if they’re able to understand, you know?”
“Mhmm Mhmm, sure, sure,” he mumbled, “Mom, Dad. We have some news for you!”
  “Auston!” you chided
“Oooh we finally get to hear the news! We’ve been wondering when you would tell us” Ema confessed
“What is it?” Brian slurred slightly
“(Y/N), babe, go on” Auston threw you to the wolves, forcing you to scowl at him
“Ema, Brian…” you started, “I.. I mean I guess we… I’m pregnant...” The words flew out of your lips louder than you expected and you watched as Brian and Ema’s face fell
“Dad, Mamì, this is exciting right?” Auston interjected, trying to get a smile on their faces
“Are you getting married?” Brian asked and your eyes went wide
“No…” you and Auston said at once, looking between each other
“So, you’re going to keep the baby?” Brian continued, Ema still sitting in silence
  “Yes, dad”
“Papì, you’re 21 years old. You’re a professional athlete. (Y/N),” he turned to you, “you’re 26. You’re starting a very stressful business. Think about your futures. Is bringing a baby into this scenario the best thing?” You were stunned, so desperately wanting to take a shot or a drink from an adult beverage which you didn’t have
“Dad! We’re happy about this. A little (Y/N) running around. How cute right?”
“It’s not just about cute, Auston. Smarten up, boy,” he yelled and you looked down at your lap, tearing your hand from Auston’s, “you are too young to have a baby. It’s not a fish or a hamster…”
“Obviously, we know that…” Auston tried but Brian continued
“Babies take a lot of work. Children take a lot of work. You have to be there for them. You have to guide them. They need both of their parents, not just one and you can’t just pass them off onto their grandparents. Onto me and your mother because, god knows, (Y/N)’s parents won’t get involved” he yelled over the table and when you saw Auston open his mouth to yell back, you put your hand on his thigh and squeezed before he could say anything.
“I’m sorry,” you started softly, “the truth is, I’m terrified. I was terrified when I told Auston. I was so terrified when I found out that I almost terminated the pregnancy without telling Auston about it. And you’re right, my parents wouldn’t get involved. I haven’t spoken to them in years. They don’t like the choices i’ve made in my life. They believe it should’ve gone a much different way and I know that telling them I’m pregnant without being married or even engaged would give them too much ammunition to try and control my life again, the way they did when I was a teenager. But you’re wrong if you think I’d pass my child off to their grandparents. I’m 26 years old, I’m not 16. I know that children and babies take work but I’m more responsible than I look. The career thing, the future thing, they won’t stop. They won’t be ruined. We can figure it out. I believe in us. I didn’t mean to cause any problems, I’m truly sorry if this has caused any problems, honestly, I, we, thought you should know. I love your son and I will love his child with everything I have. Our child will love you, they will hear wonderful stories about you if you choose not to be involved in their life so they understand how much you love them.” You finished, looking back and forth between Ema and Brian with quick glances at Auston, whose eyes never left his parents as his jaw tensed
“Mija,” Ema finally spoke, clearing her throat, “I apologize if we’ve hurt your feelings. It wasn’t our intention. Brian and I are concerned, that’s all. You two are so young and pregnancy is so trying and with Auston gone so frequently and us so far away, what happens if something were to happen?”
“Now, hold on, Ema,” Brian interjected, “that’s not what I was concerned about. Though it is something to consider” Ema raised her finger to stop him
“I would love a grandchild. Of course, this is not ideal but I see the love you have for my son and the love he has for you. I believe that there will be so much love for that child that it won’t know what to do with it all. But... are you prepared?”
“Absolutely not” you giggled and a tear built up in the corner of your eye
“Let me help with that. As much as i can. As much as you need, Mija, we are here for you. For both of you,” she reached over to grab both you and Auston’s hand and, when you looked over at Auston, you noticed his jaw had relaxed and a small smile played on his lips, “Mijo, I am so proud of you, you know that? I know you will be an amazing father. And if you ever decide to get married, I know you’ll make an amazing husband” she smiled and he finally let out a laugh but Brian was still unimpressed, so Ema hit his shoulder to get him to lighten up
“They shouldn’t be having a baby, Ema, I’m sorry I can’t endorse this”
“Enough Brian. This is your son. His girlfriend is pregnant. It’s not ideal, I said that. But we love them both. And we will love their child.” There was finality in her voice and Brian seemed to obey it, even offering a small smile at the end of dinner when you told them you were going to catch an Über and head back to your apartment.
“You don’t have to go back to your place, come back with us. Stay with me…” Auston pleaded
“I think I should give everyone some space…” you whispered and kissed his cheek as your Über pulled up, “I love you.” He repeated the words back to you, pressing a kiss to your lips before letting you go, the three of them waving to you as you went further down the street. You knew the conversation was going to be stressful and tense but you weren’t expecting it to be that tense.
Maybe you shouldn’t have played Monopoly before you left the house...

Leaning To Love Again

Relationship: Established; Auston Matthews x Pregnant!Reader
Summary: You tell Auston you’re pregnant and he comes to terms with the fact that he’s having a baby.
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: Pregnancy. Angst. Auston is an ass in the beginning. Mentions of an abortion, but no actual abortion
Tumblr media
You and Auston hadn’t been dating for long when you found out you were pregnant, nothing more than a few months. And you were scared. You and he hadn’t been together long, you were both young, and he was at the height of his career. It would be so easy for him to leave you, which scared the lived daylights out of you. Which is why you put off telling him.
You didn’t know how to tell him and you knew that every thing would change once the cat was out of the bag, so you did your best to keep it a secret. But… The problem was that even though you didn’t tell him, Auston was able to pick up that something was wrong. Off. So, he confronted you.
“Are you going to break up with me?” Auston asked out of the blue when he sitting on your couch, his eyes locked on the TV.
“What?!” You shouted, turning from where you were getting a snack to look at him. “Why would you think that?”
Auston shrugged and turned to face you. “You’ve been acting weird for like two weeks and sometimes you get weird when I touch you, so… If you are, just tell me. Rip the band aid off.”
You shook your head with a sigh and moved to sit on the couch next to him. “I’m not going to break up with you. I promise.”
He nodded. “Then what is it?” You opened your mouth to tell him ‘nothing,’ but he cut you off. “And don’t tell me ‘nothing.’”
You sighed again and let your eyes find the floor. You would have to tell him eventually, and he knew something was up, so… Now was the time to spill the beans. “In the last few weeks I’ve been feeling sorta ill and I… I never got my period so I took a test. And then I took like five more and I’m pregnant…”
You heard Auston take a sharp breath in, but he didn’t say anything else. You gave him a few more moments but he still didn’t say anything, so you looked up and he looked frozen. He was just starring ahead.
“Aus?” You asked softly, putting your hand on his arm.
That snapped him out of his thoughts and he pulled his arm back from you. “You’re pregnant?”
You tried not to feel hurt by his reaction, but it stung just a little to have him pull back from your touch. “Yeah, I am.” You said softly.
“Fuck.” He closed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair before shaking his head. “I guess we’ll call the doctor tomorrow morning and set up an appointment.”
You swallowed. “I don't think I'm ready for an ultrasound appointment... and I kinda want to know how you're feeling.”
He looked up at you confused before shaking his head and speaking slowly. “Not an ultrasound, (Y/N), I mean to schedule an abortion.”
Your eyes widened and you felt sick to your stomach. You stood up and took a step back from the couch, your hands unconsciously moving to cover your stomach. “Y-you want me to terminate?”
He shrugged, his walls and cold exterior going back up. “Well yeah, it only makes sense, we got together less than a year ago and my career is just getting rolling. Yours too for that matter. We aren't ready for a baby.”
You shook your head. “Aus... I'm not aborting our baby.”
There was a flash in his eyes of something you couldn’t name. “What do you mean you’re not? We aren't ready for this, (Y/N), you know that.”
“No one is ever ready to be a parent. I know the time isn't convenient; but, I'm okay with this.” You replied, taking half a step back from him, wanting more distance between the two of you.
“Well, I'm not.” He answered flatly.
“So, what are you saying?” You asked.
“I'm saying...” He started and then stopped with a sigh. “I'm going to go out for a while. Clear my head or something.” He finished before standing up and grabbing his stuff, his phone, coat and keys, before putting on his shoes.
“Are you going to come back?” You asked softly. Whether you meant coming back that night or back to you, you didn’t know.
“I…” He took a deep breath, his hand on the door knob. “I’ll talk to you in a bit.”
“You're leaving just like that? Turning your back on me? After everything?” You asked, a bit of anger coming to the surface before you could stop it.
“I'm not... I don't know. Bye.” He said coldly before opening and door and stepping out, closing it loudly behind him.
“Wait, Aust—” You tried, but he was already gone.
--
Two weeks later and Auston still hadn’t talked to you. You were thirteen weeks by that point and, sure, it hurt that Auston hadn’t spoken to you, but you had come to terms with the fact that he had chosen his side.
But, you were still friends with the other Leafs players and their girlfriends and wives, and Auston deciding to walk out on the baby wasn’t going to stop that. So, after you went to your ultrasound appointment and had the pictures of your little peanut, the first place you went was to the rink where you knew the guys would be.
You found Kappy, Will…and Auston…in the hall and went up to Kappy and Will with a smile, they both found your smile contagious and smiled back at you before you could say anything.
“What’s up?” Kappy asked.
“Wanna see my little peanut?” You asked, reaching into your pocket to pull out the ultrasound pictures.
Kappy’s eyebrows furrowed, confused. “Peanuts?”
Will shook his head. “No, herpeanut. Her baby. Which I would love to see.”
Kappy nodded his head. “Yeah, let’s see the little guy.”
Your smiled widened and you held the photo out to them. “See that little blob?”
At your words, Auston looked up from where he was down the hall, taping his sticks, but he didn’t move or say anything, just listened.
“That’s incredible.” Will whispered and Kappy’s lip twitched up into a smile.
“It really does look like a peanut.” At his words, Will elbowed Kappy. “A cute peanut! Mo, come look.”
You didn’t even know that Mo was around, but evidently Kappy had seen him behind you. Mo came up from behind you and looked at the photo with a smile. “Yeah, a cute little peanut.”
Your smiled widened. “I could hear the heartbeat, too! It was incredible!”
Auston’s hands flattered from where he was taping his stick, breaking the tape off, the stick only half taped, his eyes bouncing to you before they found the floor.
“Mitch and Steph said you’re showing, is that true? You don’t look…like fat or anything.” Kappy asked, his eyes bouncing to your stomach and earning himself another elbow from Will.
Auston’s eyes also moved from the floor to your stomach. The bump wasn’t big, actually it was barely there, but he knew you and your body and he could see it. He swallowed hard and leaned back against the wall, the guilt overwhelming to him.
You laughed. “Yeah, I am a bit. A stranger wouldn’t know, but…” You turned to your side and pulled your shirt tighter to your body. “See?”
Kappy smiled softly at you. “Wow, you sure can. Can I touch?” He asked hesitantly, his hand raising slightly from his side.
You smiled and nodded. “Of course, it’s too early to feel a kick right now, but yeah you can touch.”
Kappy nodded and bought his hand up to touch the small bump. “I still can’t believe it, but we’re all really happy for you.”
Auston clenched his jaw from where he was resting down the hall. You smiled brightly at Kappy and let your eyes bounce down the hall to Auston. You caught his eye for a moment, but pulled your eyes away just as quickly. “So am I.”
Auston sighed to himself and grabbed his sticks and tape before walking towards you. Your breath caught in your throat, for a moment you thought that Auston would stop, say something to you, but he didn’t. Instead, he walked right by you and the three Leafs you were talking to. All four of you fell silent as you watched him go.
“You know,” Will said after a moment, his eyes moving from Auston’s back back to you. “If you need a dad, I’m happy to oblige.”
It was Kappy’s turn to elbow Will. “Dude! You can’t just say that!”
--
Later that day, Auston found himself over at Kappy’s along with Mitch and Will. Kappy and Will were playing another round of Chel while Mitch made comments about each of their plays; but, Auston found himself more interested in the strings of his hoodie as he thought about what happened earlier.
“You know,” Will said, pulling Auston from his thoughts. “If you were just gonna mope around, we wouldn’t have invited you.”
Auston shrugged and glanced at everyone before looking back at the floor. “What did the picture look like?” He tried to keep his voice casual, but everything about it and his body language screamed vulnerable and the guys knew it.
Mitch didn’t miss a beat. “It had your hairline.”
Auston rolled his eyes and took a shaky breath. “I’m serious.”
Kappy took a deep breath and paused the game before looking over at him. “It looked like a little baby, like yourlittle baby.” Auston was his teammate and he would always have Auston’s back, but that didn’t mean he support Auston’s choice to walk out. Kappy, along with a lot of the team, really didn’t like it and it was moments like this were those feelings came out.
Auston nodded. He stayed quiet for a few moments as he thought. “I’m an idiot, huh?”
“Yeah, Matts, you are.” Kappy said quietly, turning his eyes back to the TV, but he didn’t un-pause the game.
Auston took a deep breath and pushed himself up from the couch and put his jacket on. “I’m going to go try and fix this.”
--
You were in the middle of making yourself dinner when there was a knock at your door. The last person you expected to see on the other side was Auston, but there he was. You felt your chest tighten at the sight of him and tried your best to ignore the guilt you saw in his eyes.
“Can I help you?” You asked him, keeping your voice as neutral as you could.
The guilty look in Auston’s eyes increased. “Hey, baby, look, I—"
You cut him off with a scowl. “Don’t call me that.” Your eyes drifted down to a box of chocolates and a bouquet of flowers in his hands. “If you thought a box of chocolates was going to make this all go away, you're an idiot. Go away.”
You moved to close the door, but he put his foot in the way, keeping the door open. “I know the chocolates don't fix anything. But, it's my apology and I also got,” he reached into the bag hanging off his arm and pulled out a mini Leafs jersey. “This.”
You tightened your lips. “What's that? A jersey for the baby to remember you by as you go off to accomplish your dream of winning the Cup?” You knew on some level that you were being colder than you needed to be, but he didleave you. Completely walked away from you for two weeks. You were allowed to be cold.
Auston shook his head. “No, this is my way of saying I'm a huge idiot for ever leaving or asking you to have an abortion. I want this child with you. Today when I heard you talking about the ultrasound, I was gutted that I wasn't there to see everything for myself...” He said, his voice soft.
“How do I know you just won't change your mind and leave again?” You asked, your voice still cold.
“I'll prove it to you. I’ll go to every appointment, every shopping trip for supplies. I'll build a crib.” He said, his tone picking up as he smiled a bit.
“I don't know how I'm supposed to trust you.” You whispered, shaking your head and closing the door a bit.
Auston sighed and lightly pushed the door back open before putting everything in his arms down on the floor and cupping your cheeks in his hands. “I love you more than anything. Am I scared of having this baby? So fucking much. But I want this and I want this with you. Sure, our careers are both busy and hectic at times, but we will work it out.”
“People have left me my whole life, Auston. It's going to take me a while to trust you with this...” You sighed and pulled away from him, walking back to your kitchen and grabbing a card off the fridge before walking back to him. “Here, this is the date, time and location for the next ultrasound. You can come if you want.”
Auston took the card, his eyes soft. “Really?”
You nodded.
“I’ll be there, definitely.”
And, true to his word, he was. Auston went to every appointment and slowly, over the course of the next couple months, he earned your trust back and he wasn’t going to leave you or his baby again.

Because Two People Got Drunk: 9
Series Masterlist
A/N: I linked the outfit in case you’re interested.
Summary: Fred has a game in Toronto so he visits as your due date arrives. You get to meet some of his former teammates and make a decision on your future,
Warnings: Smut, swearing, soft Freddie, oral sex
Word Count: 2,985
November 3, 2021
Fred left shortly after breakfast that day. You have sent some messages back and forth and exchanged phone calls once sometimes twice a week. Neither of you have discussed what you thought happened in Denmark, making you think you imagined it.
He hasn’t brought back up the idea of you moving to Pittsburgh after the baby is born. It would be easier, and during road trips you could fly back to Toronto if you wanted to see friends/family. It would be good for both Fred and your son to have that time early on to bond. But if you do, how long will you go? What if he meets someone and wants to take her on a date, hearing he lives with the woman he got pregnant might be a hard thing for someone to understand. If the situation was reversed you wouldn’t go on a date knowing that, it’s a complicated situation.
And even if you do go there for the entire leave which could be 18 months if you chose, what happens after that. You have a 1 ½ year old, he can’t fly alone. So you go back to Toronto and still have to constantly fly to Pittsburgh and back during the season. By going to Pittsburgh you aren’t solving any problems, just postponing them, and creating some new ones.
The season has started, and Pittsburgh is playing the Leafs on the 4th. Fred got permission to fly out the morning of the 3rd and miss the practice to spend time with you. You open the door, to see him in a dark peacoat, grey plaid scarf and toque. He steps in and takes his coat off, you see his tight and toned upper body in a light long sleeve shirt, your breath hitches.
“Wow you look amazing" he says placing his hand on your stomach. So do you, you think to yourself
“Really? You’re lying? I look like a whale. Everything is sore. My back, legs, feet. Oh my feet are so sore.”
He smiles and leans down putting his arms under your leg and behind your back, lifting you up as he walks to the couch.
“I’m not lying you look amazing” he says setting you down gently and begins rubbing your feet. “Ohhh" you moan, Fred's eye brow lifts.
“You don’t see me for 2 months, I hardly touch you and basically have you coming undone.”
“Pregnancy makes my sex drive crazy, but it also makes everything sensitive. Told you it’s like everything is heightened, all the time.”
“I think I’m just that good.”
You laugh as he keeps massaging your feet, applying light pressure to the ball of your feet. “So how are you, apart from sore, how are you actually doing?”
“Unbelievably stressed. I don’t think I’m close to ready for him, I don’t have any furniture at the other apartment, the movers are coming soon. And I’m due in 14 days so I’m stressed. And there is just questions of the future, having a baby with someone who lives in a different country isn’t the most ideal. How are you doing?”
“I mean I’m stressed too, a lot going on, a lot to think about. New team and expectations is stressful enough. But I have something planned for today that I think will help both of us.” He grabs your hand and you head down the elevator. He leads you to a rental car, opening the door and helping you in.
He pulls up to a spa and you look at him. “You have mentioned being sore a few times on the phone, so I thought a pregnancy massage could help. So I booked us a couple massage.”
“Wow that’s amazing Fred, thanks “
You walk in the door and they lead you to a private change room. You strip down completely except your panties and place the plush white robe on your body. When you’re done you open the door and enter the treatment room, where Fred is already sitting on his table in his boxers, his robe hanging on a hook. He walks over to you, taking your robe and hanging it beside his. You turn around to head to the bed and his hand reaches out to touch your stomach, he begins stroking it his thumb grazing your nipple sending a sensation down to your core.
“You look stunning, pregnancy suits you” he leans down to kiss your cheek. A smile comes across your face as he takes his hand off and helps you into the table before walking over to his table. You watch him as he walks over to his table, his boxers are tight on his ass, resting part way up his large thighs. You feel wetness pool staring at his muscular back while he climbs into the bed.
You both get a 90 min massage, and it was exactly what you needed, with you dozing off for part of it.
You return back to your apartment when Fred speaks up. “So some of the guys on the Leafs invited me for dinner, was wondering if you wanted to come. They are super nice, and have a chef coming to make dinner.”
You are hesitant not wanting to impose, but Fred convinces you to meet his friends. You shower and stare into your closet. You have some nice outfits, but most of your maternity wear consisted of leggings and sweater dresses. Your clothes mostly focussed around comfort and warmth. You finally settle on a pair of maternity jeans, with a white long sleeve shirt. You complete the look with some beige booties and a plaid wrap. You and Fred arrive at Fred’s old apartment building, your soon to be new apartment building. This time he leads you to the 41st floor. The door opens and Auston Matthews is on the other side, the two briefly hug before Fred is practically knocked over by a bernadoodle. “Hey I’m (Y/N)” you say as you step in.
“I’m Auston, this is Mitch and his girlfriend Steph he says pointing to them. And that guy is Felix.” You reach down to pet Felix as he weaves around your legs wagging his tail. Dinner with them flowed easily, you were originally nervous but quickly realized you had no reason to be. After dinner the chef has left and you are all sitting at the table talking.
“So are you scared to become a dad Fred?” Steph asks.
He looks at you briefly before responding “No, not really.”
Silence falls briefly as you stare at him. “Are you serious? You’re not nervous? I’m absolutely terrified to become a mom.”
Everyone stares at you for a second.
“Oh thank God” Fred responds. “You seem so confident and together with everything. I thought you wanted to hear I was too. So I lied. I’m scared shitless” everyone laughs.
“What scares you the most?” Mitch asks.
“Well I think every first time parent has the same fears and concerns am I going to be a good parent, am I going to make mistakes blah blah blah . I think most of those fears get erased in the first month or so of being a parent. But I think my biggest fear is not handling this thing in the best way" he looks to you “the co-parenting with someone in a different country” he finishes.
“It’s a unique situation with him leaving for Pittsburgh and me living in Toronto. Like I don’t know what is the best decision for our son. Like stability and routines are all so important for babies. But that’s hard when each parent is in a different country” you add.
“Have you given much thought into what you will do once he comes?” Mitch asks.
“Yeah I’ve been thinking about it non-stop. I’ve been considering spending part of my mat leave in Pittsburgh. That way when he is playing at home they can have that time together. But I worry about what to do after my mat leave.  It’s just delaying everything. Like are we better off trying to create some kind of a travel routine now and stick to it after I return to work. And in the beginning I’ll be breast feeding so I’ll need to be around but once I’m able to pump enough I don’t need to be and can give him some time alone to bond with him. But what do I do, fly there drop him off and leave? Stay in a Pittsburgh hotel alone, I know nobody there.  And also travelling with a baby doesn’t sound exciting at all. So it’s just a lot to consider and lots of options. And I just don’t know what’s best. I don’t want him to resent me down the line because I made a bad choice. It’s hard"
Silence falls over the room “sorry” you say realizing you rambled for a while.
“Yeah it’s a lot you are dealing with. I can’t imagine" Steph finally says.  Fred puts a hand on your leg squeezing lightly “we’ll figure it out” a soft smile on his face.
Later that night you are at your place getting ready for bed. After brushing your teeth you crawl in next to Fred. His hand falls to your stomach as he shifts to put his head just above your stomach as he starts talking to your baby, you run your hand gently through his hair.
“Hey baby boy, I can’t wait to meet you. It would be really awesome if you came tonight or tomorrow while Daddy is here in town” he kisses your stomach. “I just want you to know that things might be a little crazy sometimes, and because I live so far away I might not get to see you all the time, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love you or I’m not thinking about you.” You zone out as you feel tears beginning to rise, you focus on breathing trying to supress them as he continues talking to your stomach.
“Goodnight baby boy” he says rubbing your belly before kissing it. He crawls up behind you, his hand still resting on your stomach.
You drift off, waking up in the morning and realize you slept straight through. Fred’s arm thrown across you, holding you close, you can faintly smell his cologne. “Wow I haven’t slept for 8 hours in a long time. This guy doesn’t normally let me” you say groggily.
“He doesn’t’?”
“No he is normally up all night, kicking and moving, he’s a night owl. Since you got here he has been much calmer. It’s like he knows his dad is here and is on his best behaviour.” Fred laughs, rubbing your stomach and leans down lower “you are supposed to behave for mom, we’ve talked about this.” He places a kiss on your stomach, a light moan leaves your lips as he crawls back up behind you.
You lay there silently, him stroking your stomach, placing soft kisses in your hair. His eyes get heavy as you whisper “Fred?”
“Mm, what is it dear?” he questions weakly.
“I don’t think I can do this” you say with tears in your eyes. His hand stops as he rolls you onto your back slightly, looking at your face. Concern washes over him.
“Do what? Be a parent? Seems like you could have made that decision months ago. Kind of late to make that choice don’t you think. How can you even think about leaving him?"
“Noo, no no no, not that!” you cut him off quickly. “I don’t think I can do this without you. I just, I..I uh… I don’t want to do this without you around every day. I need you, we need you.” You look up at him and continue “I want to come to Pittsburgh after he is born and stay with you for my mat leave. I will tell my company I am taking the 18 month leave, and I’ll come down. We both need you around. I was thinking I could stay with you at first and when he is 3 or 4 months then get an apartment and we can do the split custody thing around your schedule.”
“Just stay for the whole thing, I have 3 bedrooms.”
“Yeah one for him and the other should be for guests, like your family.  Besides it could be weird if you are on date and have to tell the girl your baby momma lives with you"
“Well I haven’t talked to them much since Denmark, after you left things got a little intense with them. I’m not ready to talk to them. Also I don’t see myself going on many dates as a professional athlete with a newborn, but if she had a problem with it she isn’t the one for me. How about we see how it plays out, and if it’s working you stay the whole time. If it isn’t we’ll find you a place.”
He doesn’t let you respond leaning in and kissing you passionately causing you to moan lightly. He takes a finger down into your pyjamas, and strokes over your folds. He slides it in you and begins gently thrusting “oh my god" you scream breaking the kiss.
His mouth returns to nibble on your ear alternating with placing kisses on your neck. It’s been so long since you’ve felt anything, and your body is heightened and extra sensitive. He slides down your body, placing a pillow in his spot. He pulls your pyjama bottoms off and begins licking up your folds, he uses his fingers to create a scissor and open you up as he sucks lightly on your clit.
“This okay?” he asks.
A soft moan leaves your lips in response, “good. You taste so good” he says as he dives in further, his nose brushing against you. He increases the pace, slipping his tongue into the mix, his fingers curling inside you. He sucks on your bud his fingers pumping in and out of you.
You feel your orgasm approaching as you squirm, your hips lifting. You grip the bedsheets, your toes curling as Fred continues pumping. He sucks hard on your bud causing an intense orgasm to crash over you. You lay there as his pace slows but he doesn’t stop. He finally pulls out his fingers and wipes his hands on your bed. He removes the pillow replacing it with his body, your head falls back onto his shoulder and he leans in to kiss you. Your juices still fresh on his lips, he pulls away slightly but still close enough for his beard to tickle you.
“So, I bought a book on sex positions for pregnant women” he whipsers.
You laugh “oh really?”
“Yeah… I mean I wanted to make sure you had a good time obviously, but also that you are comfortable. I know this” he rubs your stomach “can make you uncomfortable and can make certain positions not as enjoyable. We tried a few out before leaving. There is still a few we can do if you are up to it.”
“Yes. I’m definitely up for it”
“You sure? I don’t want you to be too uncomfortable.”
“I won’t be! I have wanted to do this since I opened the door yesterday. Then I saw you in your boxers at the massage; I almost jumped you then.” He leans his head back laughing. You continue “besides some people believe sex this close can help kick start labour, and others believe it can help with pain during labour. Make it easier to push a baby out if you aren’t so…tight.”
A grin crosses his face as he pulls his pants off and pumps himself a few times.
As he is lining himself up you question “do we need a condom?” He looks at you questioningly “I don’t know if you met someone in Pittsburgh… you’ve been gone for a bit.”
“Just you babe, just you.” With that he pushes in gently as you lean your head back onto his shoulder.
You’re lying on your left side and he slightly bends your right knee, and places a pillow under your stomach.
“Good babe?”
“Fred fuck. I need you.” he pulls out and pushes in fully “bad" you practically screaming the last word.
Fred keeps pulling out and pushing back in but at a slow pace. You know at this pace it will take a while for you to reach your high, but he doesn’t want to push you too hard. He pulls out and as he is pushing back in you force yourself back bottoming out “faster.”
Fred reaches around you placing a hand on your clit and begins playing with it. He keeps pulling out and pushing back in but his pace is starting to quicken, you groan “yes.” He leans forward and kisses your shoulder. You feel yourself getting very close as Fred’s hand continues to apply pressure on your clitoris. You grind back on him searching for your high. Fred continues his pace, you feel him becoming sloppy behind you as you become undone gripping the bed sheet as your pussy clenches around him.
He bites your shoulder as you feel his warmth fill you up. He lays there still inside you for a few minutes as you both catch your breath. A hand comes to your chin and turns you to look at him, engaging you in a soft but passionate kiss. He eventually pulls out and wanders to the bathroom starting the shower. He carries you into the shower, helping to rinse you off.

You couldn’t believe what you were really staring at. Was there really a positive pregnancy test in your hands? You wanted so badly to believe that this was just a horrible dream or some twisted figment of your imagination but the growing pit in your stomach told you otherwise. Right next to the pit was a small little bean of a baby. Your thoughts jumped straight to Auston. How was he going to take this? The pit grew bigger.
You and Auston had been dating for years now, you had grown up with him, and he was your best friend. You both had gone through so much together. You got through him moving to Europe, The Draft, His rookie season being with the Leafs, his demanding role as their all-star, along with any other trouble that comes along with the territory of being in a relationship. But could your relationship survive a baby? You were both still so young. You basically grimaced when you thought about the last time the word baby was mentioned.
It was a few seasons back, Jake and Lucy had just welcomed their beautiful baby in the world. You stood in the hospital room ogling over the baby in Stephanie’s arm. They were so cute and you had the smallest tinge of baby fever. You heard the boys laugh from where you stood. Auston was standing with Mitch and Morgan watching you and Stephanie fawn over the small bundle in your arms. Jake laughed once more and looked towards the boys. “So when are we going to get another to add to the roster one of you two rooks is next?” Mitch only smiled but Auston laughed so hard it was almost harsh.
“That won’t be for a very long time, Jake.” He gets through his chuckles. “Y/N, don’t get any ideas.” He glanced at you and you knew he meant it. Just like that, the small bit of baby fever dissipated.
That had been seasons ago, but you knew Auston still didn’t have any inclination to have kids even in the remote future. Man, were you about to throw a wrench in those plans. You took a deep breath. You could get through this. You and Auston had always said you would be the ones to make it, No matter what you two would survive. That you would beat the odds.
You could do this, it wouldn’t be easy and Auston might take some time to come around but it would all come together. You were Auston and Y/N, the two of you against the world. Well, three of you now. You would be lying if you suddenly pictured your small family and smiled. You were pulled from your thoughts by the sound of the door unlocking. You quickly stuffed the test in your back pocket and hid the trash in your makeup bags. You emerged from the bathroom just as Auston had made his way upstairs and into your bedroom.
“Hey Babes” he chimed as you gave him a smile hoping he wouldn’t notice the panic and stress in your eyes. That was the thing about Auston, you could not get a single thing past him. It was like you were his favorite book that he would read over and over again, getting to the point where he could read it with his eyes closed.
Whatever was having him so cheery must have helped you, because he just smiled and planted a kiss on your lips before turning around into the bathroom to take a shower. You let out a breath as you heard the water switch on. You headed downstairs to clean up your work on the coffee table from earlier in the morning. You closed your laptop and gathered the drafts you had scattered around. You were headed into the office with all your things when Auston had emerged from the shower.
“Hey everyone is coming over to just hang out before the season starts, that’s okay right?” he smiled guiltily. You knew he already had invited everyone and there was no way you would turn them away.
“Of course it’s fine bub. I love having everyone over, just as long as there are no repeats of the last time” You glared at him recalling Willy ripping your favorite dress when they were raiding your closet out of boredom.
Auston simply chuckled and pulled you into a tight hug.
Just a few hours later, your loft was filled with people you considered family. Everyone was having a good time enjoying the food you had ordered and the drinks were flowing. Mitch was trying to make you his famous margarita but you avoided it by saying you needed to finish some designs before bed.
You were standing in the living room talking to Kappy about the show you were both watching when Auston had slipped between the two of you. Auston’s hands went straight to your ass and suddenly you were aware of the forgotten stick in your pocket.
“What is in your pocket?” he questioned and before you could stop him, he had pulled it out and was now staring at the positive test in his large hands.
“Auston…” you started. His face was unreadable. That was the thing about Auston, unlike yourself Auston was sometimes a closed book in the restricted section. The tears welled in your eyes as you searched Auston’s face for anything. You could feel the various sets of eyes locked on the two of you.
Before you could muster up any words, Auston turned on his heels and was out the door with a slam. You flinched at the sound. Freddie, Patty, and Mitch followed Auston each giving you a sympathetic look as they left your home. Stephanie and Christina rushed to your side trying to usher you into the guest room.
You put only smiled “I’m fine, I have a kitchen that needs to be picked up.” You offered a smile to the other sets of eyes still in shock of had just happened as you made your way to the kitchen. You started to clean up the food that was spread out across the island. Stephanie and Christina just simply came in and quietly started to help you. You appreciated it, just their presence was something you didn’t know you needed. Slowly the loft emptied, each person leaving wrapping you in a hug and telling you Auston would be back and that they were there for you. You thanked each one and offered them the best smile you could muster. As the night continued, your brave front dwindled down and with each second you were closer to tears. Once only Stephanie and Christina were left you made your way to the balcony overlooking the shining skyline of Toronto. You stood gripping the railing afraid if you let go you would finally crumble to the ground.
Your body let out a sob that racked your entire body. You trembled as the girls rushed to your side. Christina rubbed your back as you finally let go of the emotions you had been holding in all night. You only stopped when you heard the front door open and shut. A whole new set of sobs left your body when it was only Mitch and Patty who made their way into the house. You sobbed into you were basically dry heaving. Patty had carried you into the living room and they gathered around you comforting you until finally, you had calmed down enough to be coherent.
“Where is he?” you finally choked out. “I just need to know he’s okay..” you started wiping the tears with the sleeve of Mitch’s Jacket that he had wrapped around you outside.
Patty sighed. “He is with Freddie, He said to tell you that he would be staying there. He didn’t want you to leave the loft.”
You looked at him confused. “For how long? Why would I leave?” you questioned scared to know the answers. You felt as if your life was ripping at the seams and you were reaching for any last thread to hold on to.
Patty exchanged looks with Mitch and Mitch grabbed your hand. “Right now he says he doesn’t want to be a part of this.”
Patty interjected quickly. “Honey he says that now, give him time he is going to come around.” He tried placing his hand on your shoulder.
You were in shock. Auston had left you. No Auston had left you and your baby.
It had now been over a week since you had last seen or talked to Auston. You were still reaching for any tiny thread of hope that things would change but it was faltering. To make the matters of heartbreak worse, the sudden morning sickness had hit you like a truck. You were in the bathroom for 80% of your day. The smell of most foods would leave you reeling. You were sore, sick, and hurting. Christina was always extremely helpful as having all the boys at home but the one person you wanted to talk to, you didn’t think you could.
You weren’t sure if Auston had even told Ema about the pregnancy and you didn’t think it was your place to tell her yourself. She was his mom, not yours, you thought to yourself as much as it hurt. Ema was like a mother to you. Ever since your mother had died when you were young, Ema had taken you under her wing like another child. You wanted to hear her voice and ask her a million questions but you were honestly scared she might have a similar reaction to Auston. You couldn’t handle losing another person in your life.
You had scheduled your first OBGYN appointment for this afternoon. You had already been to your regular doctor to confirm your pregnancy with bloodwork. The doctor confirmed what you already knew with your extremely high hCG levels.
You planned on going by yourself but Stephanie and Mitch refused to let you go alone. Mitch walked into the living room where you were putting on your shoes when he placed the bag of dum dum lollipops in your lap.
“You are the best” you smiled as you broke open the bag. Lollipops seemed to be the only thing you could stomach these days.
You popped the lollipop in your mouth as you walked out the door handing one to both him and Steph. The ride to the office was quick. You hopped out of the car trying your best to hide your nerves. Steph must have sensed it and grabbed your hands in hers.
You checked in and were quickly called back, they allowed Steph and Mitch come with you despite the weird looks you received at the front desk.
“They must think you are our surrogate or something” Mitch chuckled as he played with the model baby in the exam room.
Steph hit his shoulder but you laughed as the doctor made her way into the exam room. “Okay Ms. Y/L/N, let’s see us a baby.” She smiled.
You felt so conflicted. You were happy and nervous to finally see your baby for the first time but at the same time, you were devastated that you were sharing this with his teammates and not Auston.  You just wanted something from Auston, anything really. The radio silence was slowly killing you.
You pulled from your thoughts when the cold gel was being placed on your stomach. Slowly the doctor glided the wand across your stomach. And then you heard it the beating sound ringing through the speakers and for the first time in a week, the tears welling in your eyes were happy ones. Suddenly the sound seemed like it was echoing. You immediately looked at the doctor worriedly. Her grin only grew, “Y/N you’re having twins, that’s two heartbeats.”
She laughed at the expression now on all three of your faces. “And here they are,” she said as she had finally found the right spot. You looked at the screen and there you saw it. Two little beans in black and while and suddenly your heart swelled. You had two living things inside you and they needed you. You smiled as you glanced at Mitch and Steph. They were both in tears, Mitch holding on to Steph. You wished you were glancing at Auston but you were happy they were here.
The doctor updated you on everything, you were actually further along than they originally thought already being 11 weeks. She then offered you your pictures of your sonogram. Mitch insisted on a million copies. He told you that a few of the guys wanted one. You had hoped one of them would show Auston but you didn’t dare ask. Once the doctor had printed the pictures and handed them over, the three of you headed to at least try and get some lunch. You ordered a small sandwich and salad and the three of you sat in silence for a few minutes. You finally spoke up.
“How is he…” you started. Looking towards Mitch and taking a sip of your drink before continuing. “I just want to know how he is, it will make me feel better. I know you guys started training camp.”
Mitch sighed before he started. “He’s alive if that’s what you’re asking Hun. He just seems to always be in a grumpy mood, doesn’t talk much, and takes it out on the ice. Gave Freddie a few hard shots yesterday morning.”
“He’s going to come around girl, I just know it” Steph stated matter of factly grabbing your hand from across the table. You just nodded and smiled as your food arrived.
A few days later Mitch had invited Auston over to play some video games after practice. They both entered the kitchen to grab a quick bite when Auston got a glance of the fridge Mitch was opening.
“What the hell is that?” He asked coldly staring at the sonograms Steph had tapped to the fridge surrounded by little hearts.
Mitch just shook his head as he closed the fridge and took a look at the sonograms himself. He couldn’t believe his best friend was being so cold towards you and your unborn children. He himself was so excited he found himself downloading a pregnancy app to see what size the babies would be as they grew.
“You know exactly what they are Auston. Don’t deny it.”
Auston just huffed but didn’t take his eyes from the fridge.
“She’s having twins you know. Me and Steph went with her a few days ago. She asked about you, with everything going on with her she still wanted to make sure you were okay. Maybe you should at least talk with her…” Mitch tried.
“Are we playing or what Mitch?” Auston asked as he grabbed water from the fridge.
Mitch ran a hand over his face and just nodded as Auston made his way to the living room. Mitch glanced at the fridge once more and smiled when he saw that one of the sonograms was missing. Maybe he was getting somewhere.
More weeks passed and still no word from Auston, against the team’s best efforts. You would be going to find out the gender of your babies in just a few days. You had hoped since your last doctor’s appointment that somehow Auston would have changed his mind by now and would be there but the days dwindled closer you were losing sight of that happening.
You tried to be strong most days. As the boys or their significant others would visit you would allow yourself a small tinge of happiness smiling and laughing alongside them. You wanted to be strong for your babies, for you were all they had at the moment. You knew no matter what happened these babies were going to be loved. The boys were always fawning over your now showing baby bump. And as much as you appreciated it, you were missing the one person who should have been.
Tonight was one of the nights you had let it get to you. You were having a rough pregnancy, to say the least. The morning sickness had no sign of subsiding anytime soon, you were always sore, you already couldn’t get comfortable to sleep and you were just tired. Tired of everything. You had just finished some drafts for work on the balcony and you were alone. You walked in when you felt your dinner making its way back up. You rushed to the bathroom and threw up for what seemed like forever. You were now just dry heaving and your whole body ached. You just couldn’t take it anymore. You let your tears flow and couldn’t find the strength to even get up. You had no idea how long you had been sitting on your bathroom floor sobbing uncontrollably when you heard your front door open. You still couldn’t find it in you to get off the floor so you stayed there knowing whoever it was would find you eventually. You were right within a few minutes Patty had broken down the door after hearing your sobs. He picked you up as Mitch watched pulling the comforter back in your room. You hadn’t slept in here since Auston Left, either finding yourself asleep on the couch or in the guest room. You scooted onto his side, grasping his pillow and taking in the little scent that was left. Christina crawled into bed with you and rubbed your back as another round of sobs left your body. You hated being so weak in front of them but you had nothing left to fight with tonight. You let your body shake with each sob until you fell asleep.
Patty being like a second dad to both you and Auston, seeing you the way you were last night killed him. He knew how badly you were hurting and he knew who the cause was. He planned on giving it to the cause himself. The practice was over and everyone headed to the locker room. Patty had shot daggers at Auston every time they were even remotely close to one another. Freddie and Mitch tried to keep him at bay but it wasn’t very successful.
“When are you going to take your head out of your ass?” Patty stated suddenly towards Auston as he was unlacing his skates.
“What are you talking about?” Auston tried playing stupid.
“You know exactly what the fuck I am talking about Auston! You are being a selfish child while the girl you supposedly love is hurting so bad that I fucking can’t take it. You just sitting here and pretending that she not out there going through the hardest time in her life heartbroken and all of us just sitting around here letting him fucking do it while we go and see her and let her cry on our shoulders. It’s fucking bullshit!” he roared.
Patty stood up and made his way to tower over Auston in his stall. “You know she tries so hard to be strong in front of all of us. She puts on a smile and tries so hard for those babies. But last night I had to fucking break down your bathroom door because there she was sobbing and couldn’t find it in herself to stand and unlock the door. And then we all sat there while she cried herself to sleep. How do you fucking do it, Matts?”
Patty pulled out his phone and pressed a few things on the screen and then suddenly your sobs filled the locker room. The entire room was silent listening to you cry. The sobs were heart-wrenching. Auston cringed at each one. Mitch said nothing being there himself was enough. Auston needed to hear it. Freddie suddenly took the phone from Patty. “Enough Man.” He stated quietly as he cut the video off.
“I just thought he should hear it too. He can’t fucking ignore it forever. He needs to grow the fuck up Freddie.” He turned back to Auston. “Live with that Matts.”
Patty made his way back to his stall to finish getting undressed. Auston sat in his stall for a while letting the echo of your sobs ring in his ears. Suddenly he was up, he punched his stall and left without a shower. Anderson close behind.
No one told you about the confrontation to not stress you out. Mitch had gone with you to your doctor’s appointment. He insisted on finding out the gender and then keeping it a secret from you so you could have a reveal. He said it would be fun, but honestly it was just stressing you out. You just wanted to know but you allowed Mitch to have his fun. You tried to get him to break but had no luck. When you got back to your place it was a mixture of blues and pinks.
“You did such a good job guys” you stated as you looked in the kitchen at the themed snacks and dinner.
Christina and Steph showed you around and you went upstairs to get ready. You slipped into the soft dress. Your bump was now quite big since it was twice the size. You rubbed your hand over your stomach looking in the mirror.
“Daddy will figure it out, don’t you worry.” You stated in almost a whisper. You knew people would be arriving soon so you made your way downstairs.
You were walking down the stairs when you heard it, the small laugh coming from your kitchen. You had to brace yourself so you wouldn’t fall. That was Ema’s laugh. You made your way into the kitchen expecting your mind to have been playing tricks on you but it wasn’t. She was standing in your kitchen enjoying a pink Oreo while talking to Mitch.
“Mija” she started when she saw you opening her arms. You hugged her as much your bump would allow. You felt the tears flow as you let her stroke your hair. “Come here” she ushered you into the guest room as more guests arrived.
“Mija, why didn’t you call?” she asked as you both sat on the bed.
You wiped your tears with the back of your hand. “I wasn’t sure what Auston had told you and I didn’t want to overstep.” You admitted.
“Mija, you are as much my child as Auston, I have watched you grow up and now you are growing my grandchildren. No matter what happens you are always a part of our family.” She stated like it was nothing and you could feel the tears once again.
“Now I will be here for a bit, so we can catch up later tonight. Let’s go see what these babies are!” Ema smiled as she helped you off the bed. You made your way back into the party and enjoyed the snacks and dinner that Christina and Steph had prepped. You were sitting talking to Lucy while Mitch was talking to your stomach. You laughed as Mitch was explaining something to them about fortnite. You were just about to get up for another helping of food when it happened. The door opened and behind Freddie, Auston made his way into a place that was technically his home. You froze where you were sitting and the air in the room seemed to change. You had wished for this to happen for what seemed like forever but now you didn’t know how to react. Mitch and Freddie exchanged looks as Auston approached you. Freddie gave a long as if he came in peace and you watched Auston without realizing placing a hand on your stomach.
“Can we talk?” he asked softly and you simply nodded. He led you out on the balcony and you sat at the patio table. You were afraid to speak first so you both sat there for a bit in silence. Finally, Auston took a deep breath.
“I’m Sorry” he finally got out and you looked at him, he looked deflated and broken and for the first time, you knew this was affecting him too.
“I was scared Y/N, and I ran and after Patty really gave it to me the other day I realized how selfish I was. Here you are alone and scared and I just ran.”
Suddenly a rush of courage hit you. “I was scared to Auston, I am literally growing two humans and I didn’t get the choice you had. I needed you and you left.”
“I know and I’m really sorry” he tried again grabbing your hand.
“Your teammates were here for me more than you Auston. I mean I thought it was me and you against the world but the minute it gets hard you bolt? That’s not fair to me or these babies.” You got out getting a little bit louder. You were upset and as much as you wanted to just forgive Auston you needed to make sure he was here for the long run. You had to think of these babies and didn’t want them going through a father being in and out of their lives as he felt like it.
Auston was silent not knowing how to respond he knew he fucked up and you were right. Mitch knew more about your pregnancy then he did. Auston reached into his pocket pulling out a crumbled picture worn from being handled so often. You immediately realized it was your first sonogram. “Do you have another one of these I could have? I stole this one off of Mitch’s fridge a while back.” He asked looking down at the picture of the two little beans.
“I have an updated one, they actually look like babies and not lima beans.” You smiled slightly.
“That would be nice,” Auston stated as he ran his finger across the piece of paper.
“I have a DVD too, we could watch it if you would like sometime.” You started when you felt it. It was a kick. You gasped reaching for your stomach. Auston was in front of you immediately.
“Are you okay? Do we need to go to the hospital?” He tried, you noticed Mitch and Patty inching towards the glass door sensing the change. But you just smiled.
You grabbed Auston’s hand and placed it over your bump where you felt it and soon enough there it was again. Auston’s eyes immediately well up with tears.
“There’s really a baby in there...” he stated as stared at your stomach.
“There are Auston and they need you, but only if you are in it for the whole thing. I can’t have you in and out of their lives when things get hard. You can break my heart but I won’t let you break theirs.” You whispered. Auston looked up at you.
“I will spend the rest of my life proving it to you if I have too.” He said as he cupped your face in his hands. You offered him a smile and a nod.
“We should get back to the party.” You stated going to stand as Auston helped you. You were getting big enough that you were starting to wobble. Auston helped you inside and you socialized a bit more. Auston mingled with some of the guys but stayed close to you. Mitch suddenly came out of the kitchen holding multiple confetti cannons.
“Mitchell you do know that you will be cleaning up all that confetti.” You said rolling your eyes thinking of the mess your foyer was about to be in.
“It’s all in good fun Y/N” he smirked as he handed one to Morgan, Freddie, and Patty. “Now you are going to stand in the middle and Christina is going to take your picture as we shoot them to get your reaction.”
“Is this safe?” You question raising an eyebrow.
“Will you stop being a smart ass? I can’t keep this secret for much longer!” Mitch pouted.
You just laughed as you stood in the place where he wanted you, as the boys and Christina got into position, you glanced at Auston watching from the side. You suddenly motioned for him to join you. He was hesitant at first but joined you as everyone watched. You grabbed his hand and stood on your tip toes.
“You should be a part of this too” you whispered squeezing his hand. He nodded pressing a kiss to your temple as the boys twisted the tubes. Pink and Blue confetti surrounded you. You smiled brightly as everyone cheered and came in to congratulate the both of you. You gave out your rounds of hugs best to your ability and talked a bit longer to a few other guests. You were yawning just as the last few people were leaving. Mitch and Steph were still working on cleaning the confetti while Auston and Ema were in the kitchen doing dishes. You made your way into the kitchen and leaned on the island watching as Ema and Auston spoke in Spanish.
“Mija, you look tired go get some rest. I will be here in the morning she smiled drying another dish.” You smiled at the thought of her staying for a bit and catching up when you glanced at Auston wondering if he would be staying too.
And just like he had never left, he read you like an open book.
“Only if you want me to, I can go back to Freddie’s.” He stated as he grabbed a few more plates from the island.
“We want you to” you smiled reaching for his hand. He grabbed it and smiled.
“Take her to get some sleep mijo,” Ema said softly as she ushered you both out of the kitchen. You offered hugs to Mitch and Steph and thanked them for an amazing party and all they had done for you. They hugged both you and Auston and showed themselves out as Auston took you upstairs. You immediately flopped onto the bed fully dressed, you shoe clad feet resting just off the side. Auston chuckled as he lifted each foot and took off your shoe and placed them on the floor. You giggled when he tickled the bottom of your foot.
“Are you sleeping in that?” he asked headed for the closet
“Will you get me one of your shirts? A big one obviously.” You laughed and he matched with one of his own. He came out of the closet now in sweats carrying a large maple leafs shirt for you. You lifted your hands above your head and watched as Auston lifted your dress. He stared at you in awe of your stomach and for the second time placed his large hands on our growing bump. You smiled at him sleepily. He handed you the shirt and you pulled your bra off once it was on. Auston pulled back the covers and got into bed as you drew closer to him you laid at an angle placing your head on his chest.
“God I’ve missed you” he whispered almost where you couldn’t hear him as he ran his fingers through your hair.
And for the first time in a long time, you slept soundly.

well I was in a pregnancy/baby writing mood tonight so:
an eight page auston matthews imagine (that may become a series...possibly)  ✔
a tyson barrie pregnancy imagine - I’m eight pages in but its 4am so the rest is to be continued after sleep
I’d call that a fairly productive 10pm-4am stretch.

Auston Matthews - Two Baby Girls
Tumblr media
Team: Toronto Maple Leafs
Requested: Yes: i was wondering if you could possibly write an imagine for me? one where the reader gets pregnant with auston matthews but he is whatever he is with jordyn and his team thinks he should be a man and try to make things work with the reader. i hope that wasn’t too descriptive but you can totally do your own thing as well. thanks so much! ps i love your writings!!
Edited: Yes
Word count: 839
Summary: You get pregnant and his friends tell him to make it work with you instead of Jordyn
Part 2
~
 I never actually met her.
And actually, the more that I think about it, Auston never told me about her either.
I found out about her from Instagram and Tumblr.
I work for the publicity department for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Auston and I had a thing last season.
Neither of us thought it was serious, we were both just looking for some fun.
Him because he can get a lot of girls with the position he’s in now and me because I just got out of a serious relationship.
Well at the end of the season, we had drunken sex one night and I found out I was pregnant two weeks later.
Over the summer while my bump grew, the publicity of his relationship with Jordyn grew.
They obviously became a couple- which I don’t mind.
I can handle this baby on my own.
My concern is that when I tell Auston (I wanted to tell him face-to-face, but didn’t want to call him back to Toronto during his break off) she’ll try to convince him to not be a dad rather than to let him make his own decision.
So while I was posting pictures of my growing bump (hoping it would alarm Auston (it didn’t, by the way, I just got likes and texts of congratulations and freak outs from the other boys)) Auston was posting pictures of his new model girlfriend.
It’s the first day back at work for the new season.
I’m four months pregnant, but it’s much more obvious than a normal pregnancy, since I’m carrying twin girls.
I almost passed out when the doctor told me.
I’m out of breath from the walk from the parking garage to the building, not used to carrying the extra weight and exercising (I’m not gonna lie, my summer basically consisted of me sitting on my ass eating chips while watching TV).
I look up from my shoes to see Willy, Mitch, Zach, and Auston gaping at me.
“Hi boys, it’s nice to be back, isn’t it?” I greet them with a smile, acting like nothing’s changed.
“You’re huge,” Willy blurts out, causing Zach to smack him on the back of his head.
I laugh, walking down the hallway towards my office.
They follow me, which I silently curse at.
I didn’t want them to follow me- I don’t want to talk about my pregnancy, I don’t want them to find out about the father until Auston finds out.
“How far along are you?” Zach asks curiously.
“Four months,” I respond.
“Four months… that ends up in May. You had some playoff sex, Y/N?” Willy asks me.
“Did I get you pregnant?” Auston blurts out before he can stop himself.
All of the boys freeze, and before I can react they’re jumping all over the place and shouting.
“You guys had sex? That’s so weird,” Mitch shouts.
“Sh, I have a girlfriend,” Auston hisses.
“What’s your girlfriend going to think?” Willy questions.
“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, Auston,” I say before anyone else can freak out or ask any more questions. “I’m fine caring for the girls by myself. If you want to put your new relationship first, go ahead. I won’t stop you.”
I close my office door, clueless to the conversation that follows outside.
Auston stares at my door and shrugs, turning to walk away.
Mitch smacks him on the back of the head. “Dude, seriously?”
“Ow, that hurt,” Auston whines.
“She’s carrying your child-“”At least two, she said girls, plural,” Willy interrupts.
“She’s carrying your children and you would put your girlfriend first?” Mitch questions, staring at his friend.
“Um, yes?” The Arizonian squirms at the intimidation from the smaller man.
“Dude, your girlfriend posts bikini pics on Instagram and Y/N just said she could take care of babies on her own,” Zach snickers.
“So?” Auston questions defensively.
“I’m just saying… if I had to choose between those girls, I would choose Y/N any day. Wouldn’t you, boys?” Willy and Mitch nod eagerly in agreement.
“But I love my girlfriend.”
“And you have no feelings for Y/N?”
Auston hesitantly shakes his head.
“At all?”
Auston sighs. “What do you want for me?”
“We want you to at least try to have a relationship with the mother of your children. If not for us, for them. They’re half of you, Aus,” Mitch explains gently.
Auston’s eyes flicker around before they rest on my door in defeat and he walks over to it, swinging it open.
I look up from my desk to see a blank faced Auston.
“How many?” He asks.
“How many what?”
“How many babies?”
“Two.”
“Both girls?”
I nod and he lets out a groan.
“I’ll do it. I’ll do the dad thing,” he tells me.
“Okay- but don’t act like it’s a chore. And don’t act like you don’t want to. Even though these girls are half you, they’re also half me, which means they’re willing to kick your ass if you mess up.”

Auston Matthews- Eighteen years
Tumblr media
Request:  Could you do one where you had a one night stand with Auston Matthews and he finds out years later when you son gets picked first overall in the NHL draft?
Author’s note: AH my heart. I just imagine the biggest mama’s boy in the world.
Warnings:
Up next: Sidney Crosby
“And with the first overall pick of the 2036 National Hockey League draft the Edmonton Oilers select Landon Matthews,” You completely blanked out on the rest of what was said as you stared across the table at your son with tears in your eyes before you both stood up so that he could hug you tightly. “Thank you for everything, mama,” he whispered quietly before he moved to walk up to the stage to pull his jersey on with the widest smile on his face.
The best thing about it all was the fact that it was all because your son had earned it on his own. No one knew who his dad was and he wouldn’t have to field the questions about how it compared going first over all like him. Of course it had been hard to be a single mother. Every second of every day was spent making sure you were making up for the fact that his dad wasn’t there, but Auston had been so set in that the two of you were nothing more than a one night deal that you were terrified to tell him about the pregnancy. You didn’t need him to tell you that he didn’t want your baby boy. You were fine on your own.
You leaned against a door frame watching your son in his fifth interview for the day. In every interview he had made sure to talk about his best friend, you. The strong single mom that busted her butt in order to make sure he had everything he had ever wanted. Out of everything you had done though in order to prepare for that day you hadn’t expected for Auston to be there.
Until suddenly you looked across the room to a dark set of eyes glaring at you. You could try to tell him it wasn’t what it looked like but your son was the spitting image of his dad. Landon got his talent and looks from his dad and there was no way to deny the connection. Before you could say anything though your son swept you up into another hug laughing happily as he squeezed you.
“Are you serious?” You froze hearing the voice coming from behind you. You turned around to face Auston’s anger.
You glanced back at your son noticing his fists clinching. Your son had always known who his father was in case something like that this happened. “Landon, why don’t you go see who’s interviewing you next,” you nudged him trying to get him away from the disaster that was about to happen.
Your son stepped in closing glaring down his father. “If she cries I’ll make sure you regret it,” Landon promised before walking off.
You had to take several deep breaths before finally giving Auston your full attention. “Before you say anything do you even know my name? If the answer is no then why do you think I’d expect you to want to be a dad at nineteen?”
You watched as Auston open and closed his mouth several times before he shook his head sighing heavily, “That’s not the point! It doesn’t matter if I didn’t know who you were. I had a child and he grew up without me! You stole everything from me with him!”
The look on his face tore at your heart it really did. The look of heartbreak and anguish mixed in with rage. He had a point now, but when you were only eighteen years old it was a different story. He was busy sleeping with the entire city of Toronto and didn’t want to settle down. “You don’t think I know that?” You asked as tears streamed down your face. “I was the one there that watched him and knowing that you weren’t there to see it. Anything you say to me won’t compare to the eighteen years of guilty thoughts I had,” you reminded him.
“Just explain to me why. I--I could have stepped up. I could have been there and I could have been his dad! Everything could have been different for us.” Auston let out a sigh of defeat as he shook his head.
“Because I was scared, Auston. I didn’t want my son to grow up knowing for a fact that his dad didn’t want him. It was better for him this way,” Before you could say anything more though your son put himself between the two of you.
“You’re not ruining today for me or my mom. I’ve been playing for major teams for years. You could have put two and two together before today on your own. If you want to get to know me great. If not it’s not like I’ve had a dad in my life until now anyways. All I need is my mom and I’m taking her away from this before she second guesses how she raised me because she did a pretty damn good job.”
Before you could argue with Landon though he tugged you away from his dad.

and now we’re here
Tumblr media
  Requested: 👍
Summary/Request: This one is a collab with @kayleafs221! We flash back with (Y/N) after Freddie left her and to her finding out she was pregnant
Author’s Note: We have a part three! I wasn’t going to do more than two but @kayleafs221 wants ✨drama✨ so we’re gonna see what we can conjure up together. We teamed up to see how much drama we could fit in so hopefully it fits the bill. @kayleafs221 also mentioned that she wanted to structure this sort of how New Moon was written so we went with it! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter and I’ve got one last chapter in me to make it all fluffy and bring these two back together! Stay Golden, loves! <3

xx
It had already been a month. You kept telling yourself you shouldn’t be so devastated but he hadn’t called or even texted. You were alone. He had left you completely alone and he wasn’t coming back. You found yourself curled up in his large hoodie on the bathroom floor for the umpteenth time while your chest tightened with every sob and gasp you took as if he took your lungs with him; falling asleep clinging to the last piece you had of him.
Month 2
You had no choice. You had to throw yourself into work, it was all you could do. Even when you were home, your laptop was out. You let yourself be distracted in any way you could but even that was no use. You had been sick all week and your boss had made you stay home. You didn’t know what to do as you sat on your couch refusing to watch movies because they were all the same. Always a happy ending and the thought of love and sex made you sick, sick to your stomach. You were determined to do something productive, maybe going for a walk would make you feel better. A walk by the beach. It was just as you remembered it. Beautiful. Peaceful. Suddenly your mind was flooded.
“I’ve been traded to Toronto. I leave at 4am.” What bullshit was that? How could he leave so suddenly and not even be phased? Not have any remorse for any of it?
“Stay in touch Freddie.” You were so stupid to think that he would care enough to keep whatever this was going long distance. You had to face reality, that you didn’t mean anything to him. It came again, the dizziness, the shortness of breath. It couldn’t be stopped this time. There was only black. You woke up to the incessant sound of beeping, beeping, what was all that beeping? Your eyes were met with an uncomfortable brightness. This isn’t the beach, you thought to yourself, before rubbing your head, “What?” you started to say, confused as to how you ended up in a hospital bed
“Ah, Miss (Y/L/N) I see you are awake,” the nurse checking your vitals said, “I’ll get the doctor for you, I’m sure you have many questions.” Sitting yourself up, you watched her leave the room before finding the clock and realizing that it had been two hours since you went to the beach. You couldn’t believe you were unconscious for that long, this was crazy, “she’s still groggy” the nurse said, directing the doctor to your bedside
“That’s normal,” the doctor explained with a smile, “well, we’ve run some tests and you’re severely dehydrated”
“Dehydrated?” you asked, “I don’t un– I mean I haven’t been out of bed for a couple weeks but I’ve just been dealing with some things”
“Seven” he smiled, checking the paperwork in front of him casually
“Excuse me?” you replied, furrowing your brow
“Seven weeks,” he added, “my guess is that you haven’t been drinking a lot of water”
“I haven’t really been up for it” you cowered
“Well, please do,” the doctor said, “for your baby’s sake”
“I’m sorry what?” you exclaimed, “Baby?” you said, shaking your head
“Yes,” the doctor repeated, “you’re about seven weeks along. Give or take a couple days. All women handle their pregnancies differently, which might account for your drowsiness and any mood swings you may have been experiencing”
“I’m not pregnant” you scoffed, readjusting yourself in your bed
“You are” the doctor returned your scoff, seemingly annoyed at your behaviour
  “I can’t be…”
  “The results say otherwise”
“But I haven’t had sex, I haven’t left my bed in.. like two months”
  “Which is about seven weeks”
  “But I… I can’t be pregnant”
“Is there anyone we can call for you?”
“No… there’s no one” you lowered your eyes as the realization came over you.
Month 3
After you were released from the hospital, you tried to make the pregnancy easier on yourself by reading a million books and telling your parents what you needed or letting your mom tell you what she thought you needed
“You know what I think will really help?” she said, “telling the father…”
  “Mom…” you whined
“He deserves to know, too.” She was right, of course, as all mom’s usually are so you agreed to reach out but you deleted his number when you convinced yourself it was better to forget about him, forcing you to search him out online; a huge mistake really. There were stories about girls who he’d slept with and left ‘in his wake,’ none of which you could be sure of their validity, but then you’d find pictures of him hanging out with Auston Matthews or William Nylander or any of the younger teammates in clubs and bars and you could only imagine that their behaviours spilled into his, so you let it go.
Month 9
“But what happens when that kid is born with red hair and freckles? Or when he’s a natural athlete?” your sister asked
“What do you mean?” you scoffed
“You can’t hide that,” she tried, tilting her head as she continued, hoping you’d get her point. “He’s gonna know. If there’s a picture, he’s gonna know. He’s not dense…”
“The kid probably won’t be a red head. So he’d never know..” you said knowing very well it could be a possibility. She huffed when she realized she wouldn’t get through your stubbornness. As time went on, you realized that there was no use denying it, Jackson was already excelling at every sport he tried. Knowing this, you kept him as far away from ice as possible. You knew it was wrong but you just couldn’t risk it, especially after so many of the Ducks already knew you. Whenever you thought about reaching out and telling him the truth, something was being said about him. He seemed to be a magnet for negativity.
“Possible Frederik Andersen injury a very troubling turn for Maple Leafs”
“Maple Leafs placing all their faith in Frederik Andersen”
“Andersen Said What Every Maple Leaf Fan Is Thinking”
“Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen fined $2K for embellishment”
“Toronto Maple Leafs: Andersen has been a Disaster”
Every headline seemed to be worse than the last and you knew that if you were feeling stressed just reading them, then he was probably shutting himself away to hide from everyone after living with them. This was a normal thing for goalies to go through in the NHL but there was something about the way Toronto was treating Freddie that made you want to be there for him. But you couldn’t make a decision like that so easily anymore. It wasn’t just about you and your feelings anymore, you had your baby boy to think about and the older he got, the more you could see his personality grow and the more his personality grew, the happier he was; you couldn’t imagine taking that away from him. You couldn’t take that life away from him. But watching Freddie’s career hit highs and lows, noticing he was alone through most of it, your heart broke for him. You hoped that, somehow, your love would reach him. You hoped for his happiness even before your own. Even so, you would protect your son through everything, knowing that meant it might cost you the truest of love.
Toronto 2021
“Why did you lie to me?” Freddie said under his breath. You could tell he was angry and there was no getting away from this.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t lie. I told you I had a one night stand with some guy– why are we even talking about this again?” You tried your best to keep the story straight, hoping to appease him
“You lied about Jackson not being mine!” he started to shout
“I didn’t…” you stammered. There’s no way. He couldn’t know. You had made sure of it
“I did the math… I saw your post and I went back because something didn’t… add up…” he admitted, “and the math didn’t fit with some one night stand. That kid in there, who looked an awful lot like me as a kid, he’s mine. And you lied about it. You kept it from me, kept HIM from me!”
“HE’S MY SON!” you cried. Everything was falling apart and you weren’t sure what to do anymore. There was no getting around this, you had to let out what you’d been holding in from that night, “and you left me! YOU LEFT US!”
“BUT HE’S MY SON TOO!” he countered and you furrowed your brow, shaking your head as you tried to think of what to say next.
“I made a choice, Freddie. I looked at how quickly our life together changed and I… made a choice. I couldn’t put a child through all of that. Moving at the drop of a hat, having to say goodbye to friends and homes and cities whenever your job called for it… You never looked back, you never reached out. After two months of waiting, I woke up alone in a hospital and you didn’t even care to call. So I did this. I HAD TO” you confessed, sorrow filling your eyes as you watched his face soften. “So yeah, I lied. But I didn’t lie to hurt you. I lied to protect him. No matter what. I make no apologies for that.”
“How was I supposed to know that you were in the hospital?”
“It doesn’t matter, Freddie,” you sighed, “the point is, you left and I was alone and I couldn’t wait for you.”
  “So what now?”
“I don’t know,” you started. “If this had happened before you got traded, our life would’ve been so different. I pictured it, you know,” you smiled, “our life. With Jackson. We looked so happy in my daydreams”
“We could be happy like that,” he whispered, moving close to you, “in real life”
“I can’t change his life for you”
“I don’t want you to change his life,” he smiled, closing the gap between the two of you and you felt your heartbeat in your head, making it hard to think straight, “I just want to be part of it...”
“He doesn’t know who you are” you said through bated breath
“Let’s tell him then” he exclaimed
“No,” you insisted, putting your hands on his forearms, “if we’re going to do this, we have to take it slow”
“Slow?” he asked, leaning down to your ear, “how slow?”
“I just don’t want him to feel overwhelmed,” you replied, your hands drifting up his arms, “just... start by introducing yourself to him... We’ll have lunch”
“I can do that” he smirked, pushing your hair back before laying a kiss to the exposed skin of your collarbone
  “You have to be patient”
“I can do that” he repeated as a moan left your mouth
“I don’t know if you can” you chuckled, finally pushing him away from you
  “I can”
  “I’m serious”
“So am I!” he laughed, placing his hands on your hips to stop you from turning around, “he’s my son and I will do anything to get to know him”
“He can’t know you’re his dad yet,” you said again, “I know it seems weird but, please, just don’t fight me on this”
“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it”
“Good” you joked, cocking your eyebrow before he smiled at you. That smile always broke you, always made your heart louder than your head, and, right now, you were more than happy to listen to it. He met you in the middle, pressing a kiss to your lips before his hands pushed your body into his and suddenly, it all felt so perfect. Like no time had passed. He was yours again and you were determined to keep it that way.

Baby Matthews pt 1
Hi! This is my first imagine, I hope you'll enjoy it.
"Are you sure?", I asked my doctor for the third time. "Yes Miss (Y/L/N) the lab test show that it is positive", my doctor reassured me one more time. "Do you know who the father is?", the doctor asks me. I simply nodded my head 'yes'. 'How am I going to tell him?', I think to myself. The doctor goes on and on about future check ups and other pregnancy things, but I couldn't focus. All I could think about was how he was going to react. He has a girlfriend for christ sake. As I walk out the clinic, with papers with information I wasn't paying attention to earlier, I feel the warm spring air on me. I sit in my car starring at the 'call' button on my phone for what feels like ages before finally having the courage to push the button. Four dings in and he answers. "Hey (Y/N)! Whats up?", he asks. "Hey Auston, um I have to talk to you in person, its important" "Is something wrong (Y/N)? Are you ok?", he asks franticly. "No I'm fine, I'll tell you about it in person" "Oh ok well, practice just ended and I'm headed to my apartment so I guess I'll meet you there?" "Ya, I'll be right there, see you soon" I hang up before he can say anything else. I'm not ready to be a mom, I'm barley 19 and he's turning 20. We're too young. We aren't even dating, and he has a girlfriend which I was the one he cheated on her with. When I first met Auston, I fell in love with him at first sight, as cheesy as that sounded. I got a full time scholarship for university here in Toronto. My dorm mate took me out to my first hockey game, the Maple Leafs vs the Montreal Canadians. After the game we went to a bar to celebrate the win with the rest of Toronto. At the bar I saw him. He was out of his uniform but I could never forget that face that stole my heart earlier in the night. Number 34. Auston Matthews. He notices me too. He walks over to me and we talked. We talked for hours. It felt like I've known him forever. I thought he was going to kiss me that night but he didn't. We became very good friends over the next several weeks. I later found out that he had a girlfriend in California. My heart broke a little, well not a little. My heart completely broke, no shattered, if I'm being honest. He became one of my best friends nevertheless. After games we would go out, then sometimes drink a little too much and end up hooking up. This happened several times. I felt guilty. He felt guilty. But we would always repeat our same actions over and over again. I would wake up every morning after to an empty bed. I would see him later each day, and we'd both act like nothing happened. I still loved him. As pathetic as that sounds, I love him. I knew he loved me, but not in the way I loved him. Here I am outside his apartment in my car just thinking. I am thinking of every single outcome that can go down in the next couple of minutes. I don't want to lose him but I don't want to ruin his career he has worked so hard for. I get out and walk up to his door. I knock, and I wait.

Blip *Requested* (Auston Matthews)
@jessicaa1994 : Can you please do an Auston Matthews imagine, where you end up pregnant after just hooking up a couple times and his reaction! If you wanna add the hooking up part I would not be mad about it 😛 thank you soooo much.
I didn’t include any of the hooking up part because I have a feeling I would screw it up tremendously. I hope you don’t mind!!
Requests are open.
Warnings: Mentions of the sex.
Next: ???
Edited? HAHAHAHA
Your grandmother was right. Which was not a sentence you thought would ever be applicable in your life. She was very...opinionated...and vocal about how she saw certain things. And you could guarantee she was rolling in her grave as her ghost laughed spitefully in your face and said “I told you so.” Every single day she told you that if you sinned you would be punished...and as you looked at the positive pregnancy test in your hand, you were confident she right.
You had been dating Auston for a whopping five months. You had just finished your first year of college and he had wrapped up his first season in the NHL. You had been best friends the majority of your life because his mom was your mom’s best friend. Though you had been dating for less than half a year, it felt like way longer. The two of you had acted like a couple since you were freshman, but hadn’t given anything a name until recently. And as soon as it had a name, the two of you didn’t hold back from, as your grandma would say, regularly engaging in unholy coitus.
Neither of you saw an issue with it. Though as you sat on the edge of your bathtub with a plastic stick delivering life-changing news...you were beginning to see and issue with it. The two of you were just beginning your lives and now with a baby arriving in eight months....issues.
You put your head in your hands and attempted to decide what you were going to do. Abortion wasn’t something you thought you could go through with it and neither was adoption...which left only one option. And that was something you were pretty sure Auston was going to have problems with.
Not only were the two of you barely adults, but he was one of the NHL’s golden boys and the entire city of Toronto loved him. Media attention constantly followed him around. You had one year completed of your pre-med degree. If you wanted to talk about terrible timing...this had to have the market cornered.
You heard your phone ping with a message on the counter, but since you were in the middle of a crisis...you couldn’t care less. You stared at nothing and stressed about everything. How were you going to do this?
You didn’t know how long you had sat on the edge of the tub, but you abruptly became aware that you were not alone in your bathroom. Auston was looking at you with an anxious expression.
“Y/N? Hun? Are you okay? You with me?” He asked, framing your face in his hands. His eyes bore into yours, his concern palpable. “Honey, what is going on? You didn’t answer your phone or door, so I let myself in. You’ve just been staring blankly at the wall for ten minutes!”
“Aus…”You whispered shakily. For the first time since your world had come crashing down around you, tears flooded your eyes. “I don’t know what to do!”
Auston was not prepared for the onslaught of emotions, let alone the tears. He quickly pulled you onto his lap, the two of you sitting on the bathroom floor with his back against the wall. “Hun, I can’t help you fix it if I don’t know the problem.”
“You can’t fix it!” You tearfully shouted. “Nothing is ever going to be the same!”
“Y/N. What is going on? What can’t be fixed?”
“I’m pregnant, Auston.” You stated simply. “That can’t be fixed!
He sputtered for a second, “Pregnant?” He repeatedly blinked and his mouth opened and closed a few times. “How?!”
“What kind of stupid question is that? It takes two, Aus! And news flash: you were part of the two!”
“But….we’re so young and we barely starting out.”
You sighed. “Yeah, maybe you should have told your sperm that.” You looked up at him, eyes still glossed with tears. “What are we going to do?”
“I don’t know.” He put bluntly. “But we have to do something. Figure out something...how do you even start prepping for something like this?”
“Your guess is as good as mine...but maybe a good start would be getting off the bathroom floor.” Auston let out a startled laugh, but stood the two of you up. He settled both of you on the living room couch, a much more acceptable place for a serious conversation.
“Y/N?” You turned to face him. “What are we going to name them?”
“Huh?” Had you heard right?
“I mean, naming them makes it real. I think we need some realness. So what are we going to name them?”
“I-I don’t know. Most people find out the gender and then they name them. I don’t think we can find that out yet.”
He furrowed his brows. “Can we call them Pumpkin?”
“That’s a very feminine name, I think. Besides, they’re no bigger than a little speck right now.”
“A speck?”
You nodded. “I’m just a month or so along. They’re just a little blip on the radar right now.”
“Blip or speck?”
“It’s the same thing, Aus.”
“I know what the words mean, Y/N.” He rolled his eyes. “Which do you prefer they be called? Blip or Speck?”
A snort of laughter escaped you at the seriousness of his question. “Well, speck sounds a bit too much like Spock for my liking. So I vote Blip.”
“Baby Blip.” He considered for a moment. “I like it.”
“Do you think we can do it?”
“Hun, I know we can. You, Baby Blip, and I are going to knock this out of the park. We’re young and inexperienced, but we can learn. We’ll have a ton of help and support.”
With his vote of confidence, you finally took a deep breath. Maybe he was right...you could do this. “So Blip has a name...now what?”
“Now we tell our moms.”
Your eyes widened. “Let’s just skip that step.”
He smirked. “Too late. Your mom is at our house and mine just agreed to do a facetime call.”
“Auston!” You screeched. He jumped from the couch and sprinted down the hallway. “Come back here right now!!” Everything might not be the same...but it was going to be okay.
I know that technically I said before 7pm, but I took a nap. It’s out though! Thanks for your patience!

18 Year Challenge- Travis Konecny
Tumblr media
Ok so I don't know where this idea came from, but I ran with it! Hope you like it anon! Enjoy!
Warning: none!
Anon Request: Can I please request a Travis Konecny imagine? I don't have a topic but you're so talented and I love how you write them and he doesn't get enough love
~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/
You were only 19, Travis 20.
Your parents were going to kill you.
Hell the Flyers organization might kill you.
"Would you relax?" your friend asked, turning up the soap opera she was watching.
"NO!" you shrieked facing her. "What if I ruined his life?"
"It takes two to tango" she said, finally looking at you. "You didn't get pregnant on your own."
"It's his rookie year! I'm going to ruin it!"
"Babe" she said gently. "He plays for the Flyers. It's already been ruined."
"Shut up" you mumbled. You looked at the stick in your hands again, praying the little plus sign had changed.
              No such luck.
"Seriously" she said. "Travis loves you. You followed him from freaking Canada so he could play hockey. If anything, he owes you."
"Owes you what?" You almost passed out as he entered the room, giving you a kiss on the cheek. "Hey babe."
"Hi" you squeaked, shoving the pregnancy test into your back pocket.
"Everything ok?" he asked as your friend stared you down. You couldn't meet either of their eyes.
              "Well actually..."
"NO!" you shouted over your friend. She rolled her eyes as you gave her a pleading look. "She was just leaving. Weren't you?"
"I guess I'm leaving" she said. "Bye Travis. Text me if she hasn't told you by tonight."
"Told me what?" Your friend ignored him and left, leaving you alone with Travis.
Maybe you shouldn't have thrown her out.
"Babe, what is going on?" he asked.
"Ok... I need you to sit down" you said. Travis gave you a concerned look, but sat down on the couch, raising an eyebrow for you to continue. "Ok so I know we're young and all, but..." You froze. You couldn't say it. Travis would hate you and you'd have to go back to Canada and...
              "But?" Travis prompted.
"How do you feel about chicken for dinner?" you blurted. Travis furrowed his brows, still staring at you.
"And our age has to do with dinner... why?"
"Because I'm a chicken" you muttered under your breath.
              "What?"
"Nothing" you said. "So chicken's good?" You didn't wait for his answer before you retreated to the kitchen.
Now the goal was to make dinner without gagging.
Your baby was not one for dealing with raw foods.
You stood at the counter, silently berating yourself for not telling Travis, when he entered the room.
"You sure you're ok?" he asked. He stood behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you closer. You relaxed against him and he froze. "Why do you have a popsicle stick...?”
"TRAVIS NO!" You whirled around, but it was too late.
Travis had pulled the pregnancy test out of your pocket and was staring at it.
"Oh my god" he whispered. He looked up at you and held the stick up. "(Y/N)?" You burst into tears.
"I'm so sorry! I just found out today and I didn't know how to tell you and..."
"Hey, hey, hey. It's ok. Why don't you wash your hands and we'll talk ok?" You nodded and immediately moved to the sink to wash the gross raw chicken off of your hands. You turned around and Travis was sitting at the dining room table, his head in his hands, staring at the plastic stick before him.
"I'm sorry" you whispered. His head shot up and he looked at you, face softening.
"No. It's ok. We just need to talk." You nodded, already feeling the tears well in your eyes.
"I don't want an abortion, so I can call my parents tonight and probably move back this weekend-"
"Woah!" Travis said. "Easy killer. You're not getting an abortion and you're not leaving me."
"But..." you paused as a tears slipped down your cheek. "It's your rookie season!"
"Yeah and?" Travis smiled at you. "Unprepared for this? Absolutely. But it doesn't mean I'm not stoked to be doing this with you."
              "Really?"
"Absolutely." Travis came around the table and knelt by your chair. "We can do this. It'll be a challenge, but we've faced harder."
"Yeah but we'll have this one for 18 years."
"Like my hockey career won't be" he said with a wink. You laughed as Travis set his hands on your still flat stomach. "Hi baby. I'm your daddy."
~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/
Ok so there you have it! I thought it was cute! Let me know what you thought! Up next: Auston Matthews!
