Ah, young Tobias. You could sort of tell the shit he was about to get into by that grin on his Kenmore Intern ID. But randy as he may have been, he was still astute and disciplined when it came to medicine. In no time, he made quite a name for himself in the region.

After one year at Edenbrook, he replaced Ethan as Director of the Diagnostics Team when Dr. Ramsey became Chief of Medicine at Edenbrook.

When Casey's career necessitated a move to DC, he was offered a choice of positions at GWU, where his family had deep roots. Still unwilling to accept any assistance (or the appearance of such) from his family in his career, he turned them down.

He chose to open a private practice and Aurora and Jackie were among those to join his staff. It was a perfect situation with a growing family, and he was happy with the flexibility it afforded.

About five years later, Inova Health (the top hospital in the region) approached him about the Chief of Medicine position at their Fairfax, VA medical center. Although he wanted to pursue it desperately, he feared it would be too much of a disruption to his family's life. He was about to turn the offer down when Casey convinced him they would make it work. He had sacrificed so much to make the move to DC in support of her, she promised they'd do whatever it took to make this happen for him too.

He remained at Inova for well over a decade, but as he began to approach the end of his career, he finally came to accept where he belonged in his family legacy. He oversaw the building of a wing built in his father's name at GWU Hospital and eventually went to work there, sitting on the Board.

Casey remained in Boston after her residency, becoming an attending physician at Edenbrook and continuing her work on the Diagnostics Team.

As she became more involved with her advocacy for equal access to healthcare, she began spending a good amount of time traveling between Boston and Washington, DC.

GWU Hospital wanted to create a diagnostics team and they offered her the opportunity to head up the department.

The idea of being able to create a department from the ground up, and being able to work in DC where most of her advocacy work took place was too enticing, her answer was yes, as long as she could get Tobias to agree.

Initially, he was not keen on returning to the area where he grew up/family remained, but he did not want to put a damper on Casey's dreams, so he agreed and they moved to DC.

Casey led her new department to be one of the top diagnostic teams in the world less than 5 years after its inception.

During her career she remained a fierce advocate for healthcare accessibility, serving on numerous committees and as an advisor to various political think tanks and two sitting US Presidents.

Zenobia was born to Timothy & Kimberly Winters on a cold October morning in Northknot. She was born second out of four kids. They grew up in a stable, happy home. Their father was a dentist and their mother a stay at home mom. Although their father worked long hours to provide for the family, he and their mother tried their hardest to be attentive, supportive and loving parents. Zenobia felt the love that her family had to offer and liked to give that love to others who didn't necessarily get it from home.

She found her love for the ice when she was only five years old. She'd go out skating with her father on his off days. Zenobia turned out to be really good at it and would go on to skate competitively as a teenager. That's where she met her best friend and then rival, Grace. They'd stay out late together practicing on the ice at all times of the hour as kids. They both genuinely loved skating and while trying to outdo one another, they became really good friends.

Zenobia was pretty good in school but her main focus was skating. She averaged a B in most of her classes but that was because she would rush through her work to get back out on the ice. All of her work on the ice paid off, when she was nineteen, she and her best friend had the opportunity to try out for the 2014 Winter Olympics. At the qualifiers, she watched Grace collapse on the ice and was rushed to the hospital while Zenobia ended up qualifying for the Olympics.

She almost didn't go because she felt guilty about Grace's injury. She thought that Grace should've been the one going to the Olympics and not her. Zenobia thought she should've intervened when Grace first told her about her injury and maybe they would've gone to the Olympics together. At the Olympics, she placed third overall, receiving a Bronze medal. After the Olympics, Zenobia continued to skate competitively but it wasn't the same without Grace.

Zenobia loved and loved hard. When she fell in love for the first time that summer after the Olympics, she knew that Addison was the person she wanted to spend the rest of life with. That's probably why she stayed in the relationship for so long although it wasn't good for her. Addison cheated on her and would manipulate her into believing her lies. When they broke up in 2017, Zenobia wanted to flee the entire country. It was hard for her to lose the person she thought she was going to spend her life with.

When Addison was murdered in 2018, Zenobia spiraled into a depression. She'd quit figure skating and left home with intentions of never coming back. She thought about taking her own life at a point and when it got that bad, she sought out help. She was in therapy for two years before deciding she wanted to go back to school to become a therapist herself. She got her master's degree in counselling and while in school, she met someone new, Lauren Solace. Lauren was fresh out of graduate school with her degree in Political Science when they met.

Zenobia's and Lauren's relationship happened really fast. They were dating one day and the next moving in together. That should've been the first red flag but Zenobia looked past it. She just figured they were madly in love. Lauren proposed to Zenobia a few months into their relationship. They were engaged for a year before things started to get bad. Lauren would physically, mentally and emotionally abuse Zenobia. When Zenobia tried to leave, Lauren would get aggressive and often threaten to kill herself because she knew Zenobia had a hard time losing her ex.

It wasn't until Zenobia finally broke down and called her best friend that things started to turn around for the blonde. She told Grace everything that had been going on and one day while Lauren was at work, Grace came and helped her move her things out of their shared apartment in Toronto. She ended up moving back home at her best friend's convincing. While in Northknot, she started working in her career and made a name for herself. She bought herself a house near the neighborhood she grew up in and is working as an Expressive Arts Therapist at a practice near the hospital.

Centene Prosecuted for Substandard Network Provision

(Centene sued for inadequate network coverage)

 Centene Health Net has been sued in a class-action lawsuit to offer enough network coverage to its customers. Because of their unwillingness to fund BH/SUD providers, Behavioral Centers across California and Arizona refused Health Net-insured patients.

 Health insurance does not guarantee access to care.

 Kathleen Steinley and Martin Harold Steinley filed a class-action lawsuit against Health Net on May 4, 2018, alleging –

 ●     Misleading claims in PPO policy.

●     An insufficient network of contracted providers on behavioral health and substance use disorder (BH/SUD) services has an insufficient network of contracted providers.

●     The management of PPO Policies was grossly botched.

●     Inequitable distribution of benefits for BH/SUD services compared to medical and surgical services is due to its irrational investigation of claims and resultant rejection of out-of-network options.

 Martin filled out a Health Net Small Business Application for Group Enrollment and selected the Health Net Gold 80 PPO coverage, which will begin on December 1, 2015. He mentioned his family members in the policy registration application, including his wife, Kathleen, their son, Alex, and their other two children.

 When he chose the Health Net PPO Policy, he relied on Health Net's statements about access to a good healthcare provider network. In May 2016, Alex was admitted to Aurora Vista del Mar Hospital in Ventura County, where he notified Kathleen and Martin that they would need to find a BH/SUD residential treatment center where he could be discharged after his stay.

 Kathleen began a frantic search for residential treatment clinics that were part of Health Net's provider network, as represented in advertisements, marketing materials, and a directory accessible through the Health Net website portal.

 Health centers refusing to accommodate Health Net-insured patients

 Seeking assistance from David Archambault, Kathleen’s insurance broker, she was able to explore the online Health Net Provider Directory with the help of Mr. Archambault. However, she rapidly discovered that there were no in-network providers that could treat Alex, and was dismayed to find out that out-of-network clinicians could not treat a Health Net insured because Health Net had launched a dragnet SIU investigation to stop BH/SUD out-of-network providers from receiving reimbursement.

 On May 6, 2016, she was then informed by in-network providers that they either didn't provide the treatments Alex required, didn't have any beds available for Alex, or wouldn't treat him because he was already admitted to a facility with an equivalent level of care.

Out-of-network providers told the Steinleys that although they had vacant space and services provided that Alex needed, they could no longer admit and treat Health Net-insured patients because Health Net declined to compensate BH/SUB out-of-network providers for services that they gave. Kathleen had also spent the whole day researching and contacting treatment facilities that rejected her because her insurance was through Health Net.

 On May 7, 2016, Martin contacted Health Net and demanded that they issue a list of in-network providers, which Kathleen had contacted immediately. The providers were rehabilitation hospitals to treat strokes, traumatic brain injury, and other physical rehabilitation services. Not one provider on the list from Health Net was BH/SUD providers. Kathleen was able to get in touch with an organization that helps patients be placed in residential treatment centers across the country but was advised that most out-of-network BH/SUD providers across the government no longer accept Health Net patients.

 Kathleen was unable to find a suitable facility willing to treat Alex. Most providers announced that no out-of-network provider in the country would treat Health Net-insured patients. Only two organizations that she worked with could find two suitable residential facilities willing to admit Alex - because of the Health Net’s SIU investigation and closure of reimbursement payments.

 Claims against Centene Health Net

 ●     Consumers were deceived by numerous BH/SUD providers' false names in the Health Net network of contracted providers or in-network providers.

●     Misleading representations in advertising, marketing, and communications regarding BH/SD provider networks.

●     Delays and interruptions in accessing needed health care in the network of BH/SUD providers.

●     Long waiting time on customer service telephone lines would take several hours and even days and weeks in some cases.

●     Health Net tricked customers with limited and unsubstantial options of out-of-network BH/SUD providers.

●     Insured patients are subject to high healthcare costs due to Health Net's compensating BH/Sud services which resulted in an underpayment of on average of 70-80% of the providers' billed charges and an increase in insured patients' out-of-pocket expenses for covered healthcare services.

 Additionally, Health Net underpaid the reimbursement to Steinleys for the expenses incurred at The Canyon, using Medicare compensation rates that do not apply to the services provided. It also underpaid The Canyon's billed charges and led to an increase in Steinleys' out-of-pocket expenses for the medically necessary yet covered healthcare services.

 Health Net's conduct was targeted at behavioral health providers and not medical/surgical benefits providers in violation of the Federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. The investigation by Health Net had imposed irreversible loss upon patients and healthcare centers across California and Arizona which were unable to sustain operations.

Peach State Health Plan-A Medicaid Failure

The state has crashed one of its current Medicaid managed care organizations with a $3.7 million penalty for denying patients timely access to critical medical services. The fine appears to have prompted a top-level shakeup at Peach State Health Plan. The massive penalty focused on Peach State's failure to grant "prior authorization" for medical assistance within two weeks, the national standard for the time a healthcare plan should decide to grant or deny coverage to a patient.According to sources close to the situation, Peach State was abandoning to meet that target approximately 20 percent of the time, possibly putting patients who needed coverage for medications, tests, or other critical medical services and equipment at risk.

Bowers had all outstanding issues for the prior authorization process for services had been resolved in a prepared statement.It is not the first time Centenehas sustained criticism over the way its subsidiaries do business. Year, 2005 the company agreed to pay $9.5 million to Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care Inc. to settle a two-year-old lawsuit over recompenses.

The conflict centered on Centene's Wisconsinsubsidiary. Centene-Medicaid also dropped one of the dental care providers. They were preparing to cancel contracts with dental care provider Kool Smiles, Patient Support Center. Peach Health Plan and WellCare within the week and a lawsuit filed against the state by parents of children insured by Medicaid and Peachcare, the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) have reported its investigation of allegations of inadequate care delivery from Kool Smiles, according to DCH Director of Communications Amanda Seals.

Seals announced. No child in our Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids programs has lost dental benefits or not covered from the program due to the contract disputes between Kool Smiles. On August 25, 2007, when they issued a decision that Kool Smiles cancel from WellCare and Peach State on August 31, 2007, was carried out demonstrations to oppose the care management organizations (CMOS). Grievances of parents and other dentists have led the DCH to investigate reported difficulties, such as over-utilization of services, lower use of preventive care, and unusual methods to control patients, according to Seals.Some parents who use Kool Smiles say parents must have looked for alternative dental care for their children, yet were frustrated in finding a provider who accepts Peach care or Medicaid. Provided was dropped, parents believe that through this lawsuit, a federal authority can subdue their health plans to continue their contracts with Kool Smiles so that their children will have a better smile in the future. Medicaid has never been fair to everyone, especially to people who are poor and needy. Seals are still quiet regarding the pending litigation.

"If included in the lawsuit, the State of Georgia will represent by the attorney general's office," reported Seals. "All inquiries should straight there," they stated. Meanwhile, the state stands behind its choice to convert to manage care, notwithstanding initial kinks in the policy.
