okay I understand if you can't say bc of spoilers, but I am dying to know absolutely anything you can share about Felix and Lucy's baby! when was she born? how does Felix adjust to another chaotic young human to deal with? what are Daisy and Hazel and Bertie like with her? again no worries if u can't answer and I love this series so much, thank you for writing it
I absolutely can! Sheâs not really part of this book and Iâm honestly not sure how much about her actually got into the final draft. Her name is Tess and sheâs still very tiny during BITB, which is why the Mountfitchets donât really feature (which kind of is a plot point I guess! Theyâre overwhelmed and busy with her). In the original draft of MUA Aunt Lucy was extremely pregnant but I cut that scene out - so I think Tess was born around Christmas 1940. Sheâs a very colicky and angry baby - a lot like I imagine Daisy must have been, so of course Daisy is horrified by her. Bertie thinks sheâs very funny but isnât much interested in her yet. Hazel ⊠Iâd say sheâs polite about her but again not hugely interested in her yet. She has a weird history with babies, after all!

Day 161
December 29
there was once a war in the explorer's country. People in England sent their children by train with labels around their necks, so they could be taken care of by complete strangers in the country side where it was safe. They will not have forgotten how to treat strangers.

Having some Spy x Family and MMU thoughts:
Felix and Lucy has the same vibes as Twilight/Loid and Yor.
(I should probably draw them cosplaying those two)
But Twiyorâs obliviousness is basically Hazel and Alexander in DSS (and the entire series to be honest).
So take that as you will. This is once again a dilemma for the fan artist in me because I would like to draw both pairings as the respective characters but Iâm kind of lazy and is sort of unwilling to draw the same thing twice.

Daddy set the bar real high
Ft. Bby Chenford / Dadford
preview
It was well-known that everyone at the station had a soft spot for Lucy Chen. Ever since her kidnapping, everyone seemed to keep an eye out for her, even though they all knew she didnât need their help. They all just cared about the woman. She was probably the most beloved officer in the station.
That was of course until she gave birth.
Baby girl Bradford, or little Zoe Bradford, was now five years old and the apple of everyoneâs eyes. She was the sweetest, kindest, and most energetic kid who could often be found hanging out at the station, worming her way into every officer's heart.

Bloody Pardon 3
Summary: Anthony Lockwood x Fe!Reader -> You and Lockwood spend the night in bed together and the next day acting like the married couple the government, June and Aunt Vi think you are. But what happens when it starts to feel all too real?
Disclaimer: Snow, fluff, angst, one bed, nothing sexual, falling in love.
âSo.â
âSo.â
Both yourself and Lockwood had gotten ready for bed and were finally in, laying beside one another. Your arms were out of the covers and across your chest, Lockwood mirroring your own.Â
The lamps remained on, meanwhile, the rest of the house was cast into darkness.Â
Despite feeling sleepy all of five minutes ago, you were now wide away. Your mind was both running wild with thoughts of embarrassment and terror whilst also having nothing in your mind at all.Â
âHow long do you think itâll be before June figures us out?â
âIâd give it a couple hours. SheâŠshe doesnât seem to like me very much.â
âSo Iâve noticed. Though, when have you ever cared what people think of you?â
âWhen, if she discovers the truth, it could kill your aunt.â
âIt wonât kill Aunt Vi.â
âThen go and tell her the truth.â
Lockwood lay there before looking at you, swallowing hard.Â
âMaybe youâre right.â
âThank you.â
You turned and looked back at the ceiling, thinking for a moment before turning onto your side to face him.Â
âCan I ask you something?â
âOnly if I can ask you.â
You thought for a moment before nodding.Â
âHow much of the conversation did you hear? Between your Aunt and I, I mean.â
Lockwood was already looking at you but he looked up to the ceiling again before turning onto his side as he explained.Â
âMost of it.â
âHow much is most of it?â
âYou called me a reckless bastard.â Lockwood told you. âAnd a death-wished idiot and a-â
âOkay, I get the picture,â you held your hands out to Lockwood. âWhat did you want to ask me?â
âOkay, wellâŠâÂ
It took him a moment to gather himself before he asked the question, as if trying to find the best way to phrase it.Â
âEarlier, when we came in here, you told me you can barely lie to yourself. What did you mean by that?â
âWellâŠâÂ
You were trying your best to think of an excuse. Something that would sound at least remotely like the truth. But you couldnât. Your brain was starting to daze over things.Â
Slowly, you turned onto your back, trying to avoid his gaze.Â
âIâŠâ
From behind the door, someone walked down the hall and towards the bathroom. And you could have kissed them because it broke whatever moment had been building between you and Lockwood in the silence of the bedroom.
âWe should go to sleep.â you told him. âNight.â
Lockwood tried to stop you but you had already turned out the lamp on your side of the bed so, half sat up in bed, he turned off his own and faced his back against yours.
As the morning came around, shockingly, you found Lockwood was still fast asleep beside you. He also had come so close to you in the night, that his hand had held onto yours, despite him laying on his front.Â
It took you a few moments to prepare yourself to move and not wake him but once you left the warmth of his hand and his bed, you wrapped yourself up in a dressing gown and pushed your warm joggers back down your legs since theyâd ridden up in the night.Â
Quietly, you removed yourself from the bedroom before heading downstairs.Â
It was still dark out, despite it being early morning. Everyone, to your concern, was still in bed. That was why it came as such a shock when you opened up the kitchen door and found June with a cup of tea, sitting in the darkness, as if waiting for you like a Bond villain.Â
You tried to force your quick scream back down your throat by covering your mouth with your hand but she had already seen you coming a mile off.Â
âGood morning.â June said.Â
âG-Good morning, June. IâŠâ you swallowed. âI didnât think anyone was awake yet.â
âTheyâre not. Just me.â
âOkay then.â
For a moment, you thought about running back upstairs to Lockwood but then you remembered the tea and trying not to be terrified of June.Â
âI, uh, would you like another cup of tea?â
âSure.â
Youâd never been so nervous to be in your own home.Â
âAre you feeling alright since yesterday?â
You looked back and nodded, remembering what Lockwood had said to you. âOh, yes. Iâm feeling better, thank you.â
âThere was a message left for you on the machine, from last night.â
âReally?â
âYes, from one Miss Kirk.â
You stopped pouring the water.Â
âOh. Yes, sheâs-â
You were going to say a client, but June beat you to it.
âSheâs a divorce solicitor. Apparently your case is very, how did she put it? Unusual.â
You looked up to the shelves in front of you.Â
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.
âAre you really going to divorce him without telling him how you really feel?â
Quickly, you turned around and faced her. And there she sat, one hand on the table, her legs crossed, looking directly at you with a slightly smug, knowing smile.Â
âWhat do-â
âLet me tell you something, missy. You donât get to my age without noticing a couple things about people. One being, knowing a woman in love. It comes in handy when sheâs trying to take your husband from you but in your case, it comes in handy when figuring out if Vi has a good woman coming into her family.â
âWhy is that important to you?â
âBecause Vi is the closest thing Iâll ever have to a sister. And, if you must know, I think youâre a good woman. Anthony needs you in his life. Not only are you brutally honest with him when need be, but you also make him happy.â June explained. âI was there when he lost his family. I was also there when he lost his smile. And in the last twenty four hours, Iâve seen it come back tenfold.â
âItâs complicated.â
âYou like him and he likes you, and from what Iâve heard, nobody in this house has ever done anything the normal way around. So, you skipped the proposal part of the relationship? So what? You love him and he loves you. Why get divorced? Youâll only be married again within a couple years.â
With a slight sigh, you popped the kettle on again to boil. âIâll tell you how complicated it is.â
The next two hours were spent drinking tea and explaining everything to June from the case that brought it all around to the papers to finding out you were, in fact, a married couple.Â
âI just have one question,â June told you when you finished your tale. âWhy let him divorce you when you love each other?â
âJune,â you sighed.Â
âNo. You love him and he loves you. Maybe you didnât have the most conventional beginning, but despite all of it, you still love him. You should tell him.â
âJune, I-â
âTell him.â
Just then, the door to the kitchen opened and Violet entered, still tying her dressing gown around her.Â
âGood morning my dears.â
By her actions, Violet was none the wiser on the reality of the situation.Â
Half an hour later, Lockwood rose from bed, freshly washed and dressed. As he entered the kitchen, he greeted everyone with a smile, kissing your head as he passed to which you lent into him for a moment, and popped the kettle on.Â
âAny plans today, Ladies?â
Violet was planning to show June around London since it was her first proper visit in years and, after a small discussion, Lockwood pulled himself and you into joining them and showing them the best spots in town.Â
And, the day passed rather quickly.Â
You both showed Violet and June around places in London. You all grabbed tea together and, during the walk back to the park, a musician was playing in the square.Â
There weren't many people, but those that were there had decided to sit and enjoy the moment of the song.Â
There were no lyrics, but they werenât needed.Â
June and Violet took a moment to sit and listen as the musician blended songs together before continuing with Moon River. Meanwhile, Lockwood stepped out in front of you and held his hand out.Â
âDance with me?â
âReally?â
Anthony smiled. âReally.â
You looked at June and Violet, a little shocked and unsure on what to do but nodded at your husband when you found the two women smiling - June holding up two thumbs, as well.Â
For the next couple of minutes, you slow-danced with Lockwood in the square to Moon River all the while the air got a little colder and snow began to fall onto the ground. You felt yourself relax into his arms and your head dropped onto his shoulder whilst his own rested against yours.Â
And, for a moment, you closed your eyes and let yourself imagine it was real. That the marriage, and the dancing and the moment - that it was all real. None of it was for show or fake, despite what lay underneath was real.Â
For a moment, you let yourself believe it was true love.Â
And so did Lockwood.Â
For that short moment, he let himself dream that the papers hadnât been a mistake. That you had known all along. That you were both dancing at your actual wedding and you were dressed in white in a veil that probably would have taken hours to pick out due to the fact it would take more time to actually get you into a bridal store.Â
Lockwood knew you. You liked certain things and you were never afraid of anything.Â
Except for bridal stores.
You never fully told him the story, too embarrassed to admit it. But, he did know it included an old family friend, a five year plan and a bridal sale.Â
You never said anything more than that.Â
He imagined what it would be like, to see you walk down the aisle, to have all your family and his family to see you both come together.Â
But his mind couldnât dream any further because, as the song changed, you moved yourself from him.Â
âWe should probably go, before we all freeze.â
âYeah, youâre probably right.â

Hi Robin,
Why does aunt lucy not get along with her family?
I purposefully left it a little vague because itâs something sheâs not very comfortable talking about so she wouldnât tell Daisy and Hazel (and also, Iâm happy for readers to fill in the blanks with their own ideas) but in my mind itâs just that her parents werenât great parents, so she doesnât really want them in her life any more. Which happens sometimes!

A lot of people think Aunt Elizabeth is mean and/or cruel and honestly they could not be more wrong. Grandmother Kennedy is both mean and cruel, and LMM clearly knew the difference. Aunt Elizabeth is hard, but she isn't cruel, and she has a sense of justice, even if it's a very Victorian one. For heaven's sake, she apologizes for burning reading Emily's letters to her father! Grandmother Kennedy on the other hand, keeps it secret that Dad wrote to Mother asking her to come home and is glad she burned his letter, and tries to prevent Mother from going to Jane when she's sick - she's a controlling, jealous old bat. Aunt Elizabeth is a moral relic from another time, but she isn't self-serving like Grandmother Kennedy whose meanness transcends ages.
