Soft and Strong

Jump City was truly a beautiful place.

Not only was it bright and sunny with lush greenery and sparkling beaches, it had all the luxuries of city life.

While she wished the circumstances of her move were different, Audrey couldn't say she was disappointed living here.

Sure, her recent trauma still gripped her, but this could prove to be a fresh start to a wonderful new life with new friends.

She just had to meet them first...

As the tall redhead stood at the street corner, she took notice of a teenage girl wearing a cloak. Perhaps she was a cosplayer? Or maybe she was one of those heroes she'd heard live here... Or villain?

No, she shouldn't think the worst.

Whatever the case, the teen began to cross the road while traffic was still racing.

Audrey let out a gasp and with lightning speed she reached out and grabbed the girl by the cloak and yanked her back onto the sidewalk.

"Oh my gosh! Are you alright, sweetheart?"

The young woman turned the teen to face her and smoothed out her clothes.

"That had to be quite the scare," the redhead spoke softly in her calming songbird voice.

When Audrey had told the helpful ghost trainer, “be there soon,” she’d certainly meant it. Having posted that message just outside the town, she had since arrived to the Pokemon Center and healed up her tired team. “Alright, little ones,” Audrey spoke to the four Pokeballs in her hands, “we’re here. Now that you’re all happy and healthy, we’re going to meet someone new, okay? We won’t be battling her, just meeting her nice ghost Pokemon.” The tall redhead swallowed thickly and stood up, placing the Pokeballs back on her belt. “Nice ghost types,” she repeated quietly to herself. They would be nice. This would help her conquer her fear. They would be okay... Taking a deep breath to steel herself and managing a friendly smile, she entered the shop Nurse Joy had directed her towards. “Jess?” the woman called out, looking around.

Doing things remotely isn’t the norm, but I managed to make a good enough impression on some of my clients to teach via video feed. The Herb Shop sounds smart! I should be there within a few hours maybe? Speaking of companions, I found a new one on my way over! He’s a Geodude, a strong one too! It took my whole team to defeat and calm him! I named him Balboa and I learned he likes to be used as a kettlebell!
