"Ung flukt" (1960) - Edith Carlmar
Films I've watched in 2023 (28/119)
Feature film debut of Liv Ullmann.
Why is it that so often in these "bad girl leads boy from good family astray" films the boy in question is such an annoying, jealous little bitch?
That's not to say I didn't like it, it was good. Liv Ullman is very good, and Rolf Søder is excellent as a man that comes into the life of the young lovers and stirs things up.
Full film on Archive.org (with an English subtitle file).

Ung flukt (AKA The Wayward Girl) | Edith Carlmar | 1959
Liv Ullmann, Atle Merton
Liv Ullmann’s second film and first leading role. The title actually translates as Young Flight, or Young Escape and the story follows a young couple who run off to the country together, Liv playing the archetypal “bad girl” who of course isn’t really bad. Because I associate Liv with Bergman so much it was impossible to watch this without thinking of Summer With Monika, Summer Interlude, and It Rains on Our Love, but it’s only like those films in terms of general themes and situations.
