AtLA Rarepair Month - May 2024

Hello and welcome to the Avatar: The Last Airbender Rarepair Month event!

This event is a month long, spanning the entirety of the month of May 2024, and will be devoted to any and all forms of content celebrating the Rarepair ships of AtLA.

Content can include but not limited to fanfiction, fanart, moodboards, edits, music videos and playlists.

Prompts:

Week 1 - Tea Time + Role Reversal + Hobbies- May 1st to May 6th

Week 2 - Survival + Bending Swap + What "Family" Means - May 7th to May 12th

Week 3 - Food + Animal Companions + Dreams/Nightmares - May 13th to May 18th

Week 4 - Prison + Sparring Practice + Spirits - May 19th to May 24th

Week 5 - Weapons + Behind enemy lines + Secret Pleasures + Free Space - May 25th to May 31st

The rules for entries are as follows:

-Must be 18+ to participate, as we will be accepting NSFW entries (make sure to tag appropriately for content warnings)

-A rarepair must have 100 or less fics on ao3 to be considered acceptable.

-For this event we are excluding any Canon Character x Reader submissions.

-We will, however, accept Canon Character x OC submissions.

-All content is acceptable, please be courteous of other people's submissions and do not leave hate or discourse in the comments and tags. This is a celebration of rarepairs and encouraging more content for rarepairs in the fandom. If you don't like something someone made, just keep scrolling.

For @atlararepairmonth — “What Family Means” and “Hobbies” with those two guys who were hired to capture back Toph — Xin Fu and Master Yu (ft. their young niece Toph).

AU in which Xin Fu becomes a Beifong bodyguard for money and ends up meeting one of the most whiny and annoying prissy man in the world — Master Yu (and gradually falls for him). The two have a sort of married couple vibes with how much they bicker and annoy with each other (much to Toph’s annoyance having to be stuck with them 24/7).

Though there are occasions when things are nice, easy, and peaceful between the two men. Particularly when after Toph’s lessons, or between breaks outside, they would sit on a hill and make flower crowns with Xin Fu as the subject to such “childish nonsense” (all while falling just s bit more at the way the older man laughs and smiles).

In which Viper and Jargala Omo, two of Republic City's most powerful triad bosses, decide not to join Kuvira's Earth Empire.

Title: Or Die Relationships: Viper/Jargala Omo Summary: A victorious General Kuvira issues an ultimatum to the remaining power players of Republic City: join her new regime or die. For two of the city's top gang leaders, it turns out that's not quite good enough. Rating: M for violence and MCD

For @atlararepairmonth — “Tea Time” with Chit Sang and Arnook <3

A pairing like these two is such a random rarepair in which either are little association with each other, but honestly it’s so freaking cute and has nice potential for a little room for both character growth, expansion, and exploration.

I just imagine these two one day meeting each other either during some sort of summit or party or smth like that where like Zuko had Chit Sang be a caterer where he can further expand his bakery business (as I headcanon Chit Sang to become baker) and a certain Northern Water Tribe Chieftain just so happened to meet Chit Sang right at the table where food was served and handed out.

I’d say the two would off rather interestingly -w-! Especially with Chit Sang’s go-with-the-flow ex-con background and Arnook’s formal, seemingly traditional background with the addition of him possibly still grieving over Yue.

Summary: Lin and Zolt are both plagued by nightmares in the aftermath of Amon's revolution.

Lin woke with a shiver and mumbled a curse at the radiator that rattled uselessly by the window as she rubbed her eyes. To be honest, she couldn’t tell if it was truly the piercing winter chill that pulled her from her rest. It might have been the phantom pressure of Amon’s thumb indented on her forehead, robbing her of all she was. But she could be angry at the heater for not doing its job, and that had always been a safer emotion than fear.
