#Athena the seedrian

I HAVE HIT HIM WITH THE DE-ROBOTICIZER

So I never really thought I'd even attempt to "mobianize" Omega cause he is perfect the way he is but also, for a long time I struggled thinking of something that really fit his personality... and then this hit me. And I knew I had to be the person to bring it to life.

So here is Dragon!Omega! With a few of my notes! I tried to keep the spirit of his design intact but I couldn't include absolutely everything. I think if I were to redraw this I'd make his chest a bit broader to match his original shape.

Obviously he can breathe fire, But I'm thinking he could also shoot rapid blasts of flame similar to bullets from his jaws as well. He could also shoot a very large fireball if he tried hard enough, like a big fire-bomb.

He would lose some explosive power, but would make up for that with speed and the new ability to fly, so I'm not sure how much he'd mind. I think he'd be pissed at first but get hyped for it after not too long. Nothing can stop him-

My first attempt at an Archie-style comic, featuring The Best sonic robot and my OC, Athena! She's a weapons technician at G.U.N. who's in charge of Omega's maintenance. She is also apart of their research & development division, where she helps design new weapons to counter robotnik.

And for anyone wondering, she is a seedrian! And her species is relevant to her backstory :) thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it! Bonus:

I guess this is the part where I reveal her pre-bloomed form, I thought it'd be funny if she was initially shorter than both Rouge and Shadow but gets taller than both of them after her growth spurt.

She was much more closed off and confrontational in her younger years, as she's used to a eat-or-be-eaten sort of world. The only person she really opened up to for a while was her adopted brother, Aaron. The two grew up in a run down city on the edge of nowehre, where they were raised into their teenage years by an assassin before he was killed. Scared and still young, Athena came up with the master plan to turn their old apartment into an underground weapons shop. She and her brother would raid a nearby weapons factory created by Dr. Eggman to search for discarded or spare parts and weapons which Athena would frankenstien into even more deadly creations. Eventually they run into team dark, and help them out on a mission to shut down the nearby weapons factory. After, they're both offered jobs at G.U.N. Athena would take the gig and would work for G.U.N. eventually taking over primary maintenance on Omega, fitting him with even more powerful weapons than he had before. He, of course, is always eager to try out whatever insane thing she's come up with.

This post is for me, but

Athena would spend, just, a ridiculously long time trying absolutely everything she can think of to try and impress Omega and getting absolutely nowhere. Whether it be battle feats or just new weapons she invents because that's literally all she knows how to do. She would eventually resign herself to defeat and have to try and cope with him never knowing. Because she will be damned if she has to actually come out and SAY it straight out.

Omega, on the other hand, would probably be falling for her and not even realize it. He'd be impressed with all the stuff she tries, sure, but the thought of "she is trying to impress me for a reason" would just never cross his mind. He'd get to the point where he's hanging out with Athena on a near constant basis and before even starting to notice something is up. He goes to Rouge for advice. Rouge would point out he probably has a thing for her, he’d be like, “that’s ALL?” And promptly goes to ask her out on a date.

Yeah as a. uh. under 10yo baby. I was not the most creative. Aaron was literally just blue tails until I wised up as a teen. I liked Tails, he was my favorite (still one of my favs) and so I wanted to Have Him. Please forgive my baby crimes.

Anyone who read the tags on the other post and was confused by Athena and Alyssa merging into one character- this is why. They both had. rainbows. I had a lot of characters with rainbows.

In fact, I also had a MLP character who ALSO had rainbows all over her. This character got reposted to one of those edgy "cringe MLP characters" blogs where the people who ran the blog criticized my using the default rainbow gradient. Tween me then went on to bury all of my rainbow characters, including Alyssa.

I also seemed to have misremembered where Ariel (not pictured) was placed in all of this, I think Ariel was actually a precursor to Alyssa, not Athena and Alyssa merging into one character. All the drawings of Ariel that I have stop after 2010 and I don't have any drawings of Alyssa prior to 2011. When that whole thing with the blog happened, I buried both Alyssa and Athena until reviving Athena in 2015 with just red roses this time and Alyssa later in 2019. In her full rainbow glory.

I decided to revive Alyssa because someone I was friends with waaaay back in the day on Deviantart, who loved her design and drew me a bunch of gift art, asked about what happened to her. I was so honored and frankly surprised that someone remembered her and loved her design that much. We fell out of touch again after that, but I am still really grateful to them for that.

Screw the guy who told me rainbows are cringe, you are cringe and I hope you stub your toe.

Anyways I revamped almost all of my characters in 2015, Including Aaron and Athena, though Aaron had turned into something that resembled his current color scheme in 2013. But I always liked the blue, so I wanted to keep some of it. Hence the definitely not an ATLA ripoff tattoo.

Aaron also used to be a fennec fox! Since 2013 he was, hence the ears. But IDW made that confusing and he's always been super tall, which didn't make sense for an absolutely tiny creature. So it wasn't until this year that he became a dingo!

Athena's had her unbloomed outfit for the longest, 2021 is at least the earliest instance I could find of her bloomed outfit but I'm pretty sure I had the idea swimming around in my head for a while prior. I'd have to check my physical sketchbooks to be sure (thankfully I started dating most of my sketches in 2015)

Then earlier this year I. Finally. Decided to give them all proper references. I love my guys, they have been with me a very long time and they are all special to me. I am really hoping to do more with them all soon.

Was Athena's rifle at all inspired by the Suppressor from Halo 4? If so, cool touch. If not, it is still a very cool design

Yes it was! I looked at a bunch of halo weapons when designing her rifle cause those are far and away some of my favorite sci-fi weapon designs- but that one was the primary inspiration.

I'll be honest, I'm kinda trash when it comes to designing weapons and I was very insecure about that design LOL. But thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Can you tell us a little bit more about Athena?

Ohhh I’d love to anon!!!

So Athena exists in a continuum that is post-Sonic X. As a kid, I only ever watched the 4kids dub (sorry) but I always interpreted the end that seedrians are born from seeds and that they would return someday.

So she was actually found by her adopted father, (Lionel is the name I currently have for him) as a tiny sprout, in the middle of a desert among a pile of wreckage. He decided to take this plant home since there aren’t a lot of plants in the desert and this one seemed unique. A few weeks of caring for it later… oops, now you have a flower baby. Surprise!

So Athena has never actually known what she is or where she came from. She definitely experienced a lot of mockery for having rosebuds on her head and for being a “freak,” and was hardened because of that. She’s always felt she’s had to constantly prove her worth. She wanted to be a fighter, but she always physically weaker than she wanted to be. Hence, she made up for it with learning to build and use weaponry.
