AEW Collision 4/13/24
Claudio and Danielson promo. Danielson mentions Moxley winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, and I gag. Danielson says Callis told Hobbs and Fletcher they don't even have to beat them, they just have to hurt them. That's funny, because it's easier to beat them than it is to hurt them. Claudio says they have been succeeding all around the world for 20 years. It isn't about what they do in front of the camera, it's about the work they put in behind the camera that allows them to make this look so easy. Danielson says violence is their specialty, and they will show that tonight, Wednesday, and next Sunday when he beats Ospreay.
House of Black vs. Dante Martin, Action Andretti, and Matt Sydal --Matthews powerbombs Sydal on Black's knees. Sydal lands a nasty poison rana on Matthews. Top Flight and Sydal try to chop HOB down with superkicks. King lays out Sydal with a huge lariat, but Dante breaks up the pin with a splash off the top. Black lands a nice moonsault off the top to the outside. Andretti with a somersault senton, Dante with a springboard 450, and Sydal off the top with double knees on King, but King catches Sydal. Corner cannonball senton from King and double sliding dropkicks from Matthews and Black on Sydal at the same time for the pinfall.
Good, fast-paced opening match. Nothing amazing. Rating: 3
Storm is backstage with Lexy. AZM wants Storm to kiss her bottom? That makes her and a thousand other perverts. I LOL'ed at her delivery of that line. Incredible. She is going to give AZM a beating so intense that it will be featured in a fetish periodical. Lmaooo. Go off, Toni.
Katsuyori Shibata vs. Lee Moriarty -- Great start on the mat. Shibata with a Figure Four. They roll outside, and Ogogo gets up from commentary and lands a cheap shot to Shibata's ribs. Moriarty lays in elbows to Shibata, who just walks into them, backing Moriarty across the ring. Shibata with hard strikes in the corner, then a butterfly suplex for two! Moriarty with an abdominal stretch, but Shibata reverses into one of his own. Shibata with a knee strike, a saito suplex, and a boot to the face. Moriarty with a boot of his own. They trade boots! Shibata gets the best of it with a big pump kick!Shibata blocks a Fang attempt, then lands the ripcord bitch slap and a PK FROM HELL!!!!! Cover! 1, 2, 3!!!
This rocked. Shibata looked so damn good here. I literally yelled out loud at that ripcord palm strike/PK from hell combo for the finish. What a wrestler, man. I feel so lucky every time I get to see him do his thing. Thank god for a singles win on AEW TV for Shibata. Moriarty held his own, looking very good as well. Rating: 3.5
Ogogo, Moriarty, and Taylor attack Shibata after the match. Hook comes out to make the save!
Athena and Billie Starkz are with Lexy backstage. Athena says she understands that Red Velvet is a threat, but Athena is the fallen goddess and the forever ROH champion, and tonight, she is going to make an example out of Velvet and show the world what they've been missing. Athena is a great, confident promo. Good stuff.
Undisputed Kingdom are with Lexy. Lexy asks if Wardlow has helped Roddy succeed. Roddy yells LEXY!!!!!! Lmao. Roddy asks how she could give credit to anybody but him. He is a fighting champion and a giving champion. Does she see the opportunities he's given to these people who don't even deserve it? He has been doing it on his own, just like his good friend Kyle O'Reilly, who has inspired him. Tonight, he is putting on a show. You know what that show is called? The beating of a lifetime. WOOHOO!!!! TELL 'EM, RODDY!!!!!! NICE!!!!!!!!!
Daniel Garcia vs. Angélico -- They trade some beautiful pinning combos to start. Garcia with a Figure Four, but Angélico turns it around, then they turn it around on each other repeatedly until they roll to the ropes to break. They trade kicks to the knees. Huge right to the face by Angélico!!! Garcia lands a beautiful neck breaker, then a big double underhook suplex. Garcia with big overhand chops, then a belly to back suplex, then locks a knee/leg lock in deep for the submission!
This was short, but I still enjoyed it very much. Garcia rocks. Rating: 3
Pac promo!!!!! Let's go!!! Believe it or not, he would like to thank Okada, not only for accepting his challenge, but for walloping him on the head with a big, dirty lump of steel. Now he has a perpetual headache that serves as motivation to remind everybody exactly who he is. He may not be tall and handsome, he does not own a Ferrari. Okada may think he's god's gift to professional wrestling, but he's not, he's crap. And what Pac is, is better than Okada. And in St. Louis, he will relish the opportunity to prove it in front of the entire world. HELL YEAH, PAC!!!!!! GO OFF!!!!!!!!
Toni Storm vs. AZM (AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator) -- Elbows by AZM, but Storm laughs them off. AZM fakes another elbow, but stomps on Storm's foot instead. Shoulder tackle by Storm takes AZM down. AZM with rapid kicks and a dropkick, then a boot to the side of Storm's head on the mat, then a double stomp to the midsection! AZM goes to the top, but Storm stops her with an overhand chop to take her down, then lands a hip attack to take her off the apron to the floor. AZM throws Storm into the steps, then lands a running kick to the face on the apron, then lands missile dropkick off the top inside. Storm with a big boot to take AZM down, then chops in the corner, then hurls her across ring, then stands on her head, then lands a back suplex for two. The trade strikes!!! Enziguri by AZM! Headbutt by Storm! Head scissors takedown by AZM!! Another big enziguri to the head by AZM with Storm on her knees!!!! Damn! Leg-trap German suplex by AZM! AZM lands a big dropkick off the top for two! Storm with a sit-out chokeslam/powerbomb for two! Storm goes for a German suplex, but AZM blocks it and catches Storm with a beautiful pinning combo for two! AZM goes for a kick, but Storm catches it and dumps AZM on her head with a German suplex, then lands a hip attack in the corner, then lands Storm Zero for the pinfall!!!
That kind of slapped?? AZM rocks, Storm was great. Awesome, hard-hitting, back and forth here. Loved it. Rating: 3.5
Storm and Mariah celebrate with champagne after the match.
Red Velvet is with Lexy. She says tonight she is laying Athena out. She is not a stranger to main events or high profile matches. She is going to show Athena and everyone else why it was a mistake for Athena to come into her house.
Mark Briscoe promo. He says he is starting to understand the MO of the HOB, how they try to strike fear in the hearts of men. But he fears no man. He, Kingston, and Copeland are violent men. And at Dynasty, they are bringing the violence.
Thunder Rosa is with Schiavone on the stage. She thanks the people for making her comeback so special. Rosa says she does not need Purrazzo's help to win her title back. She has done so much on her own. She thought Storm believed in the same principles of hard work. She says her body couldn't carry her as far as her passion, and she had to give up her title to heal. And a part of her died that day. She didn't leave here because she couldn't carry the weight of the title. At Dynasty, she will carry the title and the pride of her people and the support of her family. And if she has to break every bone in her body to uplift the women in the lockerroom, then she will. Storm made a big mistake in trying to erase the mask on her face, because Storm doesn't want to see what is underneath. She can't kill what is already dead. She is coming for the title and coming to drag Storm's soul to hell. Damn lol.
Purrazzo with a backstage promo. She says it's fine if Rosa doesn't want her help. She will help herself. When she went after the title, it wasn't personal. It was because Storm doesn't embody what it means to be champion, but she does. She challenges Mariah to match.
Fletcher and Hobbs are backstage. Fletcher says they are on a mission for the Don Callis Family to protect the golden goose. Hobbs says tonight, the Callis Family expects a hefty fine, and Danielson will not be able to walk out on his own.
Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs -- Fletcher and Hobbs jump the BCC before the bell. Danielson with round kicks to Fletcher outside, then hurls Fletcher over the barricade into the crowd. Claudio and Hobbs trade shots in the ring. Claudio hangs Hobbs over the top rope, Danielson lands a knee to the back of Hobbs' neck off the top. Claudio with a running uppercut in the corner to Fletcher. Fletcher with a big running kick to take Claudio off the apron to the floor. Fletcher locks in a sleeper on Claudio, but Claudio gets to his feet and muscles Fletcher up for a gut-wrench suplex to escape!! Nice! Tag, and Danielson lands a shotgun dropkick off the top. Danielson lands a big running lariat that takes Fletcher down, then round kicks to the chest, but Fletcher ducks an attempted kick to the head. Fletcher shoves Danielson into the ropes, and Danielson swings on the middle rope into a dropkick on Hobbs outside, then comes back around to land the round kick to Fletcher's head inside!! Danielson goes for a topé, but Hobbs catches him and slams him back-first on the apron! Danielson sends Hobbs into the ring post, then lands a running knee off the apron on Hobbs.
Fletcher with a running boot to Danielson's face outside. Then Claudio lands a running uppercut out of nowhere on Fletcher! Claudio sends Hobbs over the barricade with a running uppercut. Danielson lands round kicks to Hobbs in the crowd. Danielson takes Fletcher back to the ring. Fletcher lands a vicious running kick in the corner and a brainbuster on Danielson for two! Fletcher with big chops to Danielson outside. Fletcher peels back the mats on the floor and goes for something, but Danielson reverses with a back drop on Fletcher on the floor! Hobbs gets Danielson on his shoulders for something inside, but Claudio stops it with an uppercut to the back of Hobbs' head! Hobbs lands a lariat to send Claudio outside. Danielson lands a belly to back suplex on Fletcher off the top for two! Danielson immediately grabs the LeBell lock, but Hobbs breaks it up.
Hobbs and Claudio tag in. Claudio with rapid-fire uppercuts to Hobbs, then alternating running uppercuts to Fletcher and Hobbs in opposite corners, then a lariat to send Fletcher over the ropes to thr outside, then does the Giant Swing on Hobbs, then locks in the Sharpshooter on Hobbs! Fletcher comes in with round kicks to Claudio to try to break the hold, but Claudio holds on!!! Ah!! Danielson comes off the top, but Fletcher catches him out of midair with a superkick! Claudio lands a pop-up uppercut on Fletcher! Hobbs lands a spinebuster on Claudio for two! They all trade shots in the middle of the ring! Fletcher with some huge chops to Danielson!!!
Danielson lands an aggressive topé to Fletcher outside!!! Claudio lands a DVD on Hobbs for two! Hobbs and Claudio trade lariats, Claudio lands an uppercut, then a huge running lariat for two! Hobbs with a backdrop, but Claudio lands on his feet and runs the ropes! Fletcher grabs Claudio's leg from outside, and Hobbs lands a World's Strongest Slam on Claudio, but Danielson breaks up the pin!
Hobbs grabs a chair, but the ref takes it. Danielson lands round kicks to Hobbs outside, but Fletcher comes flying out of the ring with a topé to Danielson!! Fletcher and Hobbs clear the announce table! Hobbs backdrops Danielson, but Claudio lands a huge running uppercut to Hobbs! Claudio lands a hurricanrana off the announce table on Fletcher, sending him into the apron!!!! Geez! Claudio then rolls Fletcher inside and lands the Neutralizer for the pinfall!!!
Oh my god, what a match!! Just crazy, chaotic goodness without stepping too far outside the rules of tag team wrestling. It felt like the violent match it was set up to be, with Fletcher and Hobbs acting as Callis' mercenaries. Fantastic, intense, crazy action from start to finish with all four guys looking incredible. I think it would have meant a lot more for Fletcher and Hobbs to get a win here. But I get it, and it is what it is. Rating: 4
Takeshita attacks Danielson after the match, and lands a nasty brainbuster on the ramp!!! Nice!!!!!!!!

Most Beloved AEW Wrestler Tournament Round 3 Statistics Dump
Followers: 192
Total Votes: 13,148 + 11,439 + 6,915 = 31,502 (think we can break 50,000 total votes by the end of the tourney?)
Times I cursed the Sydal family for being generic as hell: too many to count
Beloved By Gender
It's been a dark round for nonbinary wrestlers. After losing against Riho and Bryan Danielson, we have none left.
However, women are still holding strong. Starting at 23.9% of the total roster, the percentage of belovedness has risen to 34.3%. In other words, more than one out of three of the most beloved wrestlers in AEW are women.
Voting Trends
Since I lowered the number of polls by day from 10 to 5, I can't put a proper line graph of total votes per day and keep it fair, so this shows the average number of votes per matchup per day.
We still have a lovely upwards trend and a new peak on Day 22, the day Willow eliminated her third fan fav and Chuckie T held out strong.
Close Calls
No ties this round, but there was again a matchup where the decision was made by a single vote. Anna Jay beat out Minoru Suzuki by 69 votes to 68.
Teams And How They Fared
Any team member not listed was eliminated in a previous round
BCC: Bryan Danielson (116) and Jon Moxley (150) both held out, but Wheeler Yuta (121) lost to Emi Sakura
Best Friends: Kris Statlander (146), Orange Cassidy (153), Chuck Taylor (202) and Danhausen (217) all continue to round 4.
The Elite: Nick Jackson (91) is the last one standing as Kota Ibushi (61) lost to Eddie Kingston and Matt Jackson (106) lost to Athena.
BCG: Juice Robinson (95) and Jay White (151) both move on to round 4.
The Acclaimed: Billy Gunn (112) and Anthony Bowens (144) move on to round 4, but Max Caster (74) lost to Dalton Castle.
House Of Black: Malakai Black (134) moves on, but Buddy Matthews (36) lost to Nyla Rose and Brody King (85) lost to Samoa Joe
Dark Order: Mr Brodie Lee (119) and Evil Uno (120) move on, but Alex Reynolds (43) lost to Hook
The Outcasts: Ruby Soho (61) lost to Penta and Toni Storm (64) lost to Orange Cassidy, fully eliminating this team.
Jurassic Express: Luchasaurus (88) lost to Juice Robinson, fully eliminating this team (and a moment of silence for Marko Stunt, who is still dead)
Jericho Appreciation Society: Anna Jay (69) moves on by a single vote.
Death Triangle: Penta El Zero Miedo (97) moves on.
Teams Who Are Still Fully Intact
Better Than You Baybay: 692 between 2 members
Hookhausen: 1,081 between 2 members
Lowest Votes
The top 5/6 lowest votes after 3 rounds (I'm putting 6 cause it's not fair to ZSJ, who was only in 2 rounds)
Frankie Kazarian (102)
Marina Shafir (128)
Isiah Kassidy (157)
ZSJ (164)
Powerhouse Hobbs (172)
Alex Reynolds (186)
Highest Votes Over Round 3
Just the votes earned in Round 3 (not collectively)
Athena (250)
Willow Nightingale (233)
Danhausen (217)
Chuck Taylor (202)
Maki Itoh (177)
Top 10 Highest Collective Votes
Willow Nightingale (884)
Danhausen (635)
Chuck Taylor (602)
Athena (541)
Eddie Kingston (519)
Orange Cassidy (516)
Riho (488)
Wheeler Yuta (459, eliminated)
Hook (446)
Hikaru Shida (431)
Thanks everyone who's voted so far and keep an eye out for round 4 tomorrow (rounds are getting shorter and shorter so this one will be about 4 days I figure)

ALL OUT PREDICTIONS
(doing this in advance because I will be distracted the rest of the day. Highlighted is who I want to win, bold is who probably would win)
ZERO HOUR
Athena, Mercedes Martinez, and Diamante vs. Hikaru Shida, Willow Nightingale, and Skye Blue
Over the Budget Battle Royale- I'm gonna be real, I don't know who's gonna be on this, but if the best friends is on there, my flag's on them!
AEW World Trios Championship: The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and Billy Gunn (c) (with Dennis Rodman) vs. Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Jay Lethal (with Sonjay Dutt and Karen Jarrett)
NOW TO ALL OUT
Bullet Club Gold (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Jay White, and Juice Robinson) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)- i'm sorry Bucks and FTR but I want the BangBangGang to win (I also wanna see some heel bucks)
Eddie Kingston and Katsuyori Shibata vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta)- All I ask is for Yuta to NOT take the pin PLEASE.
Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs- Huh. I'm actually stuck on this one. I don't really know...
Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Ricky Starks vs Bryan Danielson Strap Match- Changed my mind last minute, Ricky needs an upset win. He's been cucked long enough. (almost forgot this one there's so many, thanks @sheinthatfandom)
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Shane Taylor for the ROH World TV Title
Adam Cole and MJF (c) vs. John Silver and Alex Reynolds (the dark order) for the ROH World Tag Team Titles- AHHH, DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE. I want both to happen.
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Ruby Soho for the AEW TBS Title
Luchasaurus (c) (with Christian Cage) vs. Darby Allin for the AEW TNT Title
Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW International Title-THE ONE MATCH I'M OVER THE MOON FOR AND AGAIN, DON'T WANNA CHOOSE. But If I really think about it, and they're building Orange the way I'm thinking...he might win.
And that's all my thoughts for the matches!

All Out Predictions
ZERO HOUR
Athena, Diamante and Mercedes Martinez vs Willow Nightingale, Hikaru Shida and Skye Blue. I'm rooting for every single one of these women.
The Acclaimed vs Satnam Singh Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. The Acclaimed end of story.
MAIN SHOW
Luchasaurus vs Darby Allin. It doesn't matter who wins as long as Christian keeps the belt because he is the real champion.
Miro vs Powerhouse Hobbs. I honestly don't care who wins but I hope they slap the tits off each other.
Kris Statlander vs Ruby Soho. Momma straplander for the win baby.
Samoa Joe vs Shane Taylor. I'm wishing Joe a happy murder.
Bullet Club Gold vs Young Bucks and FTR. The only thing I need from this is the Bucks to be the most unhinged versions of themselves.
Bryan Danielson vs Ricky Starks. Ricky needs this win and more than deserves it after everything.
Better Than You Baybay vs Dark Order. It's simple as long as adamjf are together and winning I'm a happy woman.
Eddie Kingston and Katsuyori Shibata vs Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. There's something so special about this match I'm just thankful we get it.
Kenny Omega vs Konosuke Takeshita. I honestly might not survive this match no matter the winner.
Orange Cassidy vs Jon Moxley. I'm rooting for OC as always champ forever if Mox wins I'll probably cry.
#might be in and out of the ppv since I'm with family but I should still be unhinged about this#aew all out#aew lb#soph predicts

Do the ROs have any pets?
M has a cat that they dote on alot. Her name is Athena, after the goddess of wisdom, and she is a ragdoll breed. They had found her in an alleyway on a rainy day after the whole thing happened with their soulmate. She was nursed back to health under their care and eventually was formally adopted since she brought such joy and life to them. Athena is very protective of M and is a bit offput about strangers. But if you have M's trust, she will start to warm up to you.
L used to keep multiple lizards in their house growing up. They still take care of any they found in their travels, but they never kept them. They believed they shouldn't take them from their home and it would be stressful bouncing all over the place with no rest. However, they're thinking about adopting one since they're settled down now.
B and J have joint custody over their pet rabbit, Peter. He's a flemish giant that was adopted when Brendan first arrived in Paris. J brought him as a gift for B as they lost their own rabbit to old age not too long before their move. J figured it could be something to help them while adjusting to the city and be a nice companion for them. Also because they both like rabbits. Now, Peter shuttled between their neighboring apartments on a monthly rotation with some talks of having another rabbit as a friend for him and not having to move him so much.
V has fur allergies and was never really a fan of having a pet. That was until they got their Sphyx cat on one uneventful day. It was love at first sight and they pamper the little guy to end. They're the pet parent with how much they treat him like their child and spoiled him rotten. His name is Eugene after a famous romanticism artist. Eugene is a playful little fella and is one of the main things that will bring a smile to V face.
C decided to get a pet that wouldn't irriate their best friend allegeries when they were a teenager . They ended up deciding on a snake, who was named Noodle for the fun of it. C might act like some easygoing or irresponsible person but they take some stuff seriously. Especially their new pet that they adopted. Noodle was given all of the creature comforts and nessicities that a corn snake could have. Often C will let them out of their tank when they're harm and just curl up in their hand. It's relaxing for them after a hard day at work.
Avery has a lot of dogs. They have a big estate situated on the outskirts of Paris and they have a deep love for canines. Arthur [middle one] was adopted while they were in the brittany district. He plays with their three spaniels [top right] Lala, Bala, and Bipin, who were adopted when they first arrived in Paris, and their two Beaucerons [bottom left] Calvin and Hobbes. They help with the neighbors since they get antsy when they can't herd something for too long. Avery also has three guard dogs that their parents insisted they have when they moved away from home. They [bottom right] are called Anthos, Aramis, and Porthos after the three musketeers. But they are sweethearts mainly and couldn't scare anyone. Then there are their older dogs [top left] who has been with them for years. They are named after Jack and Rose from Titanic and were gifted to them when they graduated college.
Kahula doesn't have a pet with their constant lifestyle and never really having the time for them with their schedule. But they wouldn't mind having a bird or something.

Overall a great Collision for me. Still really dig the sports presentation with the interviews or showing Punk and Joe before the match. House of Black seems tonally really at odds with that though. Loved Ricky and Hobbs. Was sad about no Willow and Athena. I'm guessing because their match got cancelled FTR vs JJ could go for fucking ever, which was good for that match. Felt whatever about Action Andretti vs Scorpio Sky but it did its job (give the crowd a moment to get drinks and calm down between two great matches). PunkJoe was just like fanfiction to me. I wonder if anyone who didn't know their history even enjoyed it but I fucking did. I feel better about Joe losing now with the post match angle, which hopefully leads to another match or two. Looking forward to seeing Ricky and Punk wrestle but I'm sad about the wedge it drives in the CMFTRicky gang and also... please put Ricky over? Please?

AEW All Out 9/4/22
Casino Ladder Match for a shot at AEW World Championship at any time -- Parts of this were good and parts were just a little ridiculous. PENTA WITH A CANADIAN DESTROYER ON DANTE ON THE RAMP!!! THEN ANOTHER CANADIAN DESTROYER TO ANDRADE ON TOP OF A LADDER BALANCED HORIZONTALLY ON THE APRON AND THE BARRICADE!! Some crazy ladder spots here. Dante Martin is nuts, leaping over people as they climb the ladder to land higher up on the ladder, leaping onto Claudio's back as he climbs up. The finish makes no sense. Stokely climbs the ladder and pulls down the chip, but that isn't the end of the match??? Because he's not a legal participant in the match?? Because he's not a wrestler?? Who knows. The Joker enters and Stokely just hands off the chip to him. And that is somehow the end?? No one seemed to know how to react, or even seemed to know when the match was over. Strange booking.
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks vs. Adam Page and the Dark Order for the Inaugural AEW Trios Championship -- Absolutely incredible, rapid-fire tag team offense by Silver and Reynolds. Disgusting snap dragon suplexes by Omega. Loved the one-on- one exchange between Omega and Page. They face off in the ring, but they aren't the legal men. They drag their incapacitated partners to the corner and make the tags. Omega attempts a German, but Page lands on his feet. Omega lands a V-trigger and a nasty double underhook tiger driver on Page!!! Page with a Buckshot to the back of Omega's head!! He goes for another, but Matt grabs his leg from the outside to stop him. Nick with a Buckshot to Page out of nowhere!!!! But the pin attempt is broken up!!! Silver with a roll up and super near fall on Omega!! V-trigger by Omega on Silver!! Omega goes for the One-winged Angel, but Silver counters and rolls Omega up again for an even nearer fall!!! Omg!!! Silver is in position for a German on Omega, while Page sets up for a Buckshot, but Omega ducks and Page lands the Buckshot on Silver instead!!! Omega steals the fall on Silver!!! What a match!!!!
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Athena for the TBS Championship -- I like Athena a lot, but this was a Jade Cargill match. Cargill wins. That's all I really have to say.
FTR and Wardlow vs. Motor City Machine Guns and Jay Lethal -- This was a fine match with some decent exchanges between FTR and MCMG, but I just didn't really care about it at all, despite FTR's involvement. The audience didn't really seem to care either.
Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs -- This grudge match should have felt more meaningful than this. Five minutes and Hobbs wins? Weird way to go.
Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland (c) vs. The Acclaimed for the AEW Tag Team Championship -- This match was entirely too long. It was boring as hell and kind of messy, and I thought it was never going to end. At least Lee and Strickland won. The Acclaimed are charismatic in a ridiculous way, and they are entertaining, but they do not do it for me in the ring. I was impressed by Caster hitting that AA on Lee, but otherwise, I didn’t care about this. The crowd was insanely hot for the Acclaimed though, which begs the question of whether this was the right time to give them the titles. On another note, anyone who buys that scissor me daddy ass shirt is a weirdo.
Hikaru Shida vs. Britt Baker vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Toni Storm for the vacant AEW Women's World Championship -- This was fine. Good stuff with Shida here. Great to have her back. Anticlimactic end with Storm winning off a DDT. Yawn.
Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy Jack Perry -- Luchasaurus jumps Jungle Boy before the match with a chokeslam on the ramp. He then puts Jungle Boy through a table. The bell rings, and Christian wins in 20 seconds with a spear and a Killswitch. Not the way I would have gone with this match, but okay.
Bryan Danielson vs. Lionheart Chris Jericho -- This was a great, methodical wrestling match. Good exchanges of holds, nasty chops and strikes. Danielson kicks Jericho's fucking head in <3333. Danielson locks in Cattle Mutilation on Jericho, lets go to land some nasty elbows to Jericho's head, then locks the hold back in!! Jericho gets to the ropes to break it. Danielson is relentless with kicks to Jericho while he is in the ropes. He has until five!!! Danielson and Jericho catch the ref in the corner amid the action, and Jericho low blows Danielson. He follows up with a Judas Effect for the three count. BS that Moxley gets to submit Jericho, but Danielson loses to Jericho off a low blow. Makes sense with the Garcia stuff though, I guess. Garcia is shown watching disappointedly on the screen backstage and does not come out with the rest of the JAS to congratulate Jericho. Excited to see where this goes with Garcia.
Darby Allin, Sting, and Miro vs. House of Black -- Good match. Lots of good stuff from Darby, Miro, Black, and Matthews. Sting with the mist to Black, giving Darby the opening for the last supper pinning combo for the three count.
Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk for the AEW World Championship -- Punk hits a GTS in the first few minutes for two!!! Moxley spends the better part of the match targeting Punk's injured leg/foot --kicks, single leg crab, dragon screws, figure four. Moxley is driven into the ring post, which gives Punk an opening to lock in the Anaconda Vice. Mox bites Punk's head to escape!!! Punk attempts a top rope elbow, but gets caught in a rear naked choke by Mox. Punk goes for another GTS, but Mox catches Punk's leg to block it. Moxley lands a kick to Punk's leg followed by a Death Rider, but Punk kicks out. Another GTS by Punk!!! Mox is out, but he lands on top of Punk, preventing a pin attempt. Punk lands another GTS and gets the 3 count. Ugh.
The arena goes dark. A recording of TK talking to someone plays over the speakers. TK says their absence is hurting the company and that he will give them a spot in the Casino ladder match, will pay them more money, and won't make them sign a contract extension if they will show up at All Out. A video plays. It's someone wearing the mask that the Joker from the Casino ladder match was wearing. The mask is removed to reveal the back of someone's head. They put on a yellow plaid scarf. It's MJF!!!!! He says the devil is back!!! His music hits, and he enters the arena!!!! He stares down Punk!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! MJF CHANTS IN CHICAGO WHILE CM PUNK STANDS IN THE RING!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO ALIVE!!!!!!!

My Highlights of AEW All Out 2023
Normally Chicago would be AEW's 'home away from home', given how it was the birthplace of the idea that was AEW having hosted the original All In. Recent events however meant that there was, uncertainty, about how this would go.
With a slim build, since All In at Wembley was last week, and recent headlines, AEW had to deliver on All Out, but did they? Let's see
Spoilers for the PPV, only positives being listed
Zero Hour
Nice subtle shout out to Windham by Bryan, given that he was his last opponent in a strap match
Dalton Castle in general, that dude has it
Serpentico knew he was done, but at least he wasn't the first to be eliminated
Spears and Garcia having a dance off
Angelo Parker did get his wish, they put him down XD
Trent and Hangman deciding to shake hands
Garcia sad dances up the ramp
Toa Liona's pounce! Hangman ain't a little guy but he went flying
Deadeye finally won Hangman a match
I didn't get a chance to say for Wembley because I didn't get to see much of the finer details but Shida's gear is lovely
Mercedes and Diamante in matching gear
Athena regretting everything when Willow got tagged in
Shida vs Athena, give me what I want.
Sonjay in a basketball jersey, he's a goof
Bringing Aubrey to slight Karen was clever, especially since it offered some bias to the conclusion
Main Card
"This player called Michael Jordan, he was a good player"
Keeping the neck storyline going
MJF coming back for the big pop and hot tag
Joe with the shove XD
MJF vs Joe is a definite money match to cash in on
Christian Cage in general, excellent heel
Darby's selling too, he's made Luchasaurus look like a monster
Darby's Swanton out the ring onto a seated Luchasaurus
The Crucifix Bomb was clean too
Perfectly placed 'Father of the Year' sign
Lovely nearfall on the Avalanche Code Red
Instant chants of 'Meat' for Miro/Hobbs, we need more meat chants
Excalibur even referencing Big E's 'Big Meaty Men Slapping Man Meat'
Hobbs staying on his feet from the Matchka kick
Manly handshake, even if Hobbs then jumps him after
Miro's hot flexible double-jointed wife does exist!
Stat donning some Zoolander gear
A big nearfall with the Avalanche No Future and Destination Unknown too
Ricky coming out strap in hand already, a Cody-esque strap at that
They got Final Countdown again! Joey Tempest must love him some Danielson
That fucking crack from Danielson's whips
I mean you can not fake those hits, there's no leg slapping that is a strap whipping flesh over and over again
That was an amazing flash spear from Ricky too
On brand for ex-teacher Hangman to donate to a Public Education Fund
Shibata vs Claudio is another money singles bout
Claudio's been doing some great narrative heat though with not wanting to entertain Eddie directly
Very clean STO by Eddie
Fack Wheeler's dead by that Shibata backfist
Shibata fucking rocks man, we are so fortunate
Kenny repping the old DDT gear colours
FUCK ME, does Kenny even have a neck anymore?
Kenny isn't a small dude either and but Takeshita has been throwing this dude
"A hell of a kick" is a generic comment from Excalibur there
Takeshita and his bridges, beauteous
Don that would be a fucking murder...
Takeshita beat Kenny clean, which is one hell of a rub
The Gunns' entrance is perfect for the whole BCG group
Mini Cardblade? They better be in the merch store
When the Bucks wanna be dicks, they're very good at being dicks
4-Way Sharpshooter was a nice textbook spot that the Bucks and FTR have in common
Cash and Matt superkicks!? Matt and Dax spike piledriver!?
Four Corners Power Plex!!??
I've been living for these shared finishers
Love the pre-walk before the entrance for the main event too, big fight feel
I've seen the image of Orange's wrapped hand and Moxley, it's a great visual
Mox has looked absolutely feral this match
Blood Orange Cassidy taking pages out of Moxley's book
Beach Break on the unpadded floor, and the fan egging him on
Blood Orange Cassidy's serious kicks getting extra extra serious!
The Death Rider kickout
A tale of two images; a clean padded fist and Moxley, and then an empty backpack and a blood-stained fist of Cassidy
I would've preferred him to have won (Takeshita could've taken it from him to ride off of his win vs Omega) since Mox didn't really need the title but the ending of the PPV tells a greater story - the jester's ascent to worldwide respect - which brings it to a strong close.
Conclusion
Several instances of buffering aside, this was exactly what AEW needed to deliver. A strong PPV that won over a Chicago crowd, reminding the often forgetful wrestling world that AEW exists and thrives without CM Punk. Every time people doubt, AEW deliver big time. I may play a bit of bias and say All In was better by a minor margin, I think the overall match quality was better for All Out (sadly the ROH matches and some abrupt finishes brought it down a little) but I think the narratives and energy was better at All In.
Regardless on what side you're on in his dismissal, AEW picked their path and they are moving forward, moving on, and we've dropped some teases on where we can go next, and those are paths I look forward to seeing fleshed out and explored.
Match of the Night: Honestly, it was Miro/Hobbs for me. It's very tight; I really enjoyed the 8-man, TNT title, Kenny/Konosuke, the main event, the strap match, the the men's non-title tag match, the TBS title (though it did end a bit abruptly) but sometimes you just gotta appreciate big meaty men slapping man meat. Best Entrance: Bullet Club Gold, they look like the real deal with that entrance. Best Attire: Kenneth Jerome Omega with his DDT colours, it still fits him and it was a nice callback. Statlander's Zoolander gear is a close second, since Shida's white gear was technically for last week and barely lost out to Swerve's blue coat. Best Performance: Ricky Starks was close but there's no topping Orange Cassidy this time around. Spot of the Night: I loved the 4-corner power plex, and Takeshita's beautiful German Suplex, but the Strap Match where Ricky and Bryan just were whipping the tar out of each other is the most visceral for me.

AEW Collision
-I was at a local show last night and my head was hurting while I watched Rampage this morning, so no commentary. I liked it, though.
-my wish is for Ricky to manage Sonny Kiss.
-oh no the Acclaimed made me sad
-the Bang Bang Gang are a bunch of silly little guys and I think I love them.
-I love every woman in this match. All of them. So much.
-Can we start working towards getting a for real women's tag division going in AEW? Please? Also more women in factions?
-Increasingly unhinged Toni Storm may be my favorite Toni Storm.
-HOBBS VS MIRO OH MY GOD YES
-LET'S GO GOTHS
-Every time I see Malakai or Athena, I think back to 2017 and seeing them for the first time and getting interested in wrestling again after falling out of it in the early 2000s.
