The Group Call
It had been a while since they all got in a group call together, the last time they were even in the same room was during the holiday. Not sure how Tristan and Yugi managed to even get Anzu to come over from New York but he was grateful to have spent the holidays with his friends.
Tonight, he had a special surprise to show them for their group call. Looking at the ring on his left hand, he was in the group call first, waiting for the others to show up. The first one to join him was...
Tumblr media
"Alright, everything's good, permissions all set and-"
Tumblr media
"Wait, what the fuck? Pharaoh? You're never here on time! And your camera is all set up too?! Uh... hi? This is new. Alright, might as well test your mic levels now while we wait for the other two."
Tristan was usually the first to show up, as he was the "tech support" for when something would be amiss during the group calls. Usually it was Atem because he knocked over a cord or something. At least this time he can make sure everything was running smoothly on his end before the others came in.
"Yea, by the way. What's it like having Rich Ass pay for half your shit? I saw that kitchen of yours, and there's no way you'd have the money to pay for that good of an appliance set."
Tumblr media
"It's not like I had a choice. He said something along the lines of... not wanting me to burn the place down before he got a chance to defeat me... or something."
"Oh, for fucks sake, of course he'd say that."
"Hello, hello? Tristan, you hear me?"
And there was another familiar voice.
"I got you, though what time is it over there? It's gotta be late on your end, isn't it?"
"Please, I just got back from rehearsals, so I have a while before I gotta head off to-"
Tumblr media
"Wait, Pharaoh? Ah, sorry. Atem? You're here... on time?" She leaned in closer to her camera. "Are you feeling well? Is the weather out there bothering you? Are you getting enough rest-"
"I'm fine, I'm fine." Atem chuckled. "I just really wanted to see you guys again after the holidays, and... um... once Ai... Yugi comes in..." He got a little red in the face. "I have something to show you."
"Speaking of, I have to ask. You're close to him. Did you notice anything... off about Yugi?"
"You mean how he's starting to speak like his stuck up boss? Yea, I've noticed that too."
"Well, yea I guess. But that's not what I meant. I meant towards Atem. How he's acting all... formal and... different. Like, okay for example. You call him 'Yugi', not 'Aibou'. I'm not saying it's bad, but just... different. Is everything okay?"
"It's fine." Atem tried to reassure. "We had a bit of a talk once I came back, he and I, and... um... we agreed that since I'm here to live a life of my own, then that means I have an identity of my own, just as he has his own. It's... a long story that I'm sure you guys don't have the time for me to blab about, haha..." He paused for a little bit before continuing.
Tumblr media
"It's... fine. We have our own separate identities, separate lives, so... it's better if we addressed it as such. We're still friends, of course, it's not like anything like that has changed. Just... how I address him. I am Atem, and A... Yugi is-"
"Sorry, am I late?"
The conversation was broken when another familiar voice entered the call. Without missing a beat (and to prevent the awkward silence of just talking about him) Tristan popped in to greet the new arrival.
Tumblr media
"And look who arrives here last! Guess who beat you to the call this time?"
"Am I late? Oh, sorry, sorry. I've been busy with- ah, lemme get my camera on... there we go." There were sounds of fiddling with something before the camera feed popped on, showing Yugi on the other end.
Tumblr media
"I just got back from a meeting and haven't gotten the chance to rest my eyes and-"
"On a Sunday?! Does Rich Ass have nothing better to do? Whatever. You're all set up here, all good to-"
"It's a video call between friends, Tristan, nothing to get all serious 'tech support' about. If I sound or look a little fuzzy, it's fine. Should I need you for my business calls, then I'll take it seriously."
"Alright, if ya say so. Anyway. Atem, you were so adamant on having our monthly group call now instead of at the end like we usually do. Did something happen?"
Tumblr media
"I thought you'd say something like that, but... yea. I wanted you all to see something. I... um... have been seeing someone for the better part of half a year, and... um... Maybe it's best that I show you." He raised his left hand just enough so that his laptop camera was able to capture the golden ring on his left hand. "I'm... I'm engaged to him."
Silence. For a good thirty seconds.
Atem was worried that his feed was cut off, but before he could open his mouth to ask...
Tumblr media
"EHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"
Tumblr media
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
Tumblr media
"...huh?"
Tumblr media
Atem just blinked a bit from the reactions. "Not... at all what I was expecting, but..."
Tumblr media
"Move it closer! Lemme see! Lemme see!" Anzu was the first to speak up, to which Atem obliged and moved his hand closer to the camera so that the group could all see the golden band on his finger. Immediately after which Anzu laughed. "Yup, that ring just screams Atem. It's perfect for you."
Tumblr media
"God damn that's impressive." Tristan gave a whistle of surprise at the sight of the ring. "Guess the Colonel got smart and put a ring on it."
"Tristan, be nice."
"I am being nice! I met the guy, and he ain't half bad. Would like to see how good his shot is, though, if he's one of them military brats. That reminds me, how'd you two meet up, anyway? You work at a café and he's a big shot Colonel. Not exactly screams 'love at first sight' or anything."
Tumblr media
"About that..." He was debating on whether or not to mention the whole "different dimension" thing, but then again the only one who might know or understand any of that... isn't even in the call. "We, ah... met at a lounge I frequent at. He and I would meet for drinks every now and then, and before I knew it we started talking and-"
"Alright, that's it." Tristan interjected. "Next chance I get I'm taking him to a 'normal people' bar, none of your fancy bougie lounge bullshit."
"Tristan!"
"What? If he's gonna marry our best friend, I wanna see what makes him tick! I wanna see what he's really about! Get to who he really is, yanno?"
"Oh my god, Tristan, you're going to scare him away if you do that."
"Please. If he's put off by hanging out with one of his fiancé's best friends at a regular baaaarrrr then he's so out of place in this here group."
Tumblr media
"Oh for the love of..." Anzu sighed, but then noticed something. "Hey, Yugi. You haven't said anything. Everything okay?"
Tumblr media
"Hmm? Oh. Yea, I'm fine."
"Well, what do you think? About Atem's ring?"
Yugi looked at the ring on his partner's Atem's hand, then let out a sad smile.
Tumblr media
"I think it looks great on you." There was a small chuckle. "If he makes you happy, then I'm happy for you. He sounds like a great guy, so I'm glad you found someone. Congratulations, Atem."
The rest of the call was them simply small talking and making jokes, and by making joke it was mostly Anzu yelling at Tristan for making another off color joke. Eventually they all had other business, so they decided to start wrapping up the call.
Tumblr media
"I'll see ya guys real soon, and Atem... you and I are going shopping the next time I come over there, and you are going to tell me everything about this Roy guy. Ok? I wanna meet the guy who managed to take our little Pharaoh away all to himself. I'm kidding! I wanna see if he's even better than you describe him! I got to go. Congrats again Atem!" She gave a wink as she disconnected.
Tumblr media
"I'm needed at the factory tomorrow so I gotta get my z's in too. Call is all yours, you two. Just clean up after you're done~"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A long pause between all three right after Tristan's comment.
"No? Alright, fine. You two have your little chat or whatever. Buzz me if you need me." Tristan disconnected, leaving both Atem and Yugi as the only two in the call... which prompted another long pause.
Tumblr media
Yugi was the first one to break the silence. "So... does he make you happy? Is he good to you?"
"Mmm-hmm. He's very patient and caring, and I love him dearly."
"Good. That's... that's a good thing. You found someone on your own that completes you, living the life you chose to live. I'm happy for you."
There was a pause before Atem spoke up. "You know... we don't have to limit ourselves to these group calls. You and I can... um... hang out. Spend some time together. Just like befor-"
"Between working under Kaiba and working on my game, and helping out Mom and Grandpa with the shop I've had little to no time for any of that. I had to dip out of a meeting early just to join this call."
"I'm... I'm s-"
"Don't. You wanted to announce a big moment that happened, so you were excited. If anything, that's on me to plan better. So don't start that. Look. You came back because you wanted to live the life you wanted, right? And you are. You should be happy for that. I am."
"But... I also came back to see you, Aib-"
"I told you, stop calling me that!" The shout that came from Yugi's end made both rooms silent. After about a few seconds Yugi composed himself and sat back down.
Tumblr media
"Sorry. What I meant to say is... we both have our own lives to live now. I'm living mine, and you're living yours. You said it yourself, you wanted a life where you were no longer bound to anything, didn't you? The Puzzle is gone, that means we are no longer partners. We're just two separate people. We no longer live through each other anymore. We've had this talk already and we agreed on this. Okay?" A long pause before Yugi said one more thing to Atem.
"I'm glad he makes you happy. You deserve someone like that." He then disconnected the call.
Tumblr media
"..."
Atem just stared at the screen... before disconnecting the call and closing the laptop himself.

Hey I saw your request are open and that's my very first time to do that, so if you aren't feeling comfortable or you request are closed, pls just ignore it.
It's not really a request but more like two questions.
Firstly, if you know Danganronpa ignore the text down there the question is extra. If not I will give you a summary of the important parts. In Danganronpa is a group of students of the Hope's Peak Academy imprisoned inside the school and have to kill one another to get into freedom. In their universe it's like there are people who were born with talents and are pros in that what they do, like a baker or something, and they are called a Ultimate as they could do it off the bat and only the "Ultimate" are allowed into the academy.
Now to the question, how would Yandere Chain react to an Ultimate Detective Reader. Reader will be more cautious of their surroundings and people, as they have many enemies as a detective. They would be suspicious of the Chain, if they do something like killing a man for being rude to Reader or something. Reader has probably learned how to fight and maybe has even a gun, just to be safe. If Reader is anything like Sherlock Holmes, maybe even love his books, they know more about the boys after a handshake than any Zelda and the Shadow together. The Chain maybe want to help them back at first, if the Shadow was at fault of their world traveling, if not it was probably the failed experiment of the Ultimate Inventor or something, just because they are geniuses doesn't it mean, that they can't make mistakes in their calculations. But after Reader proved their value to them as they could sniff out the shadow like a bloodhound, Twilight's nose is nothing against Ultimate Detective Reader, and probably after they figured out that Twilight and Legend are Wolfie and a pink bunny. They don't want them to leave as THEY FOUND THE RIGHT TRACK TO THE SHADOW LIKE THEY WALKED BACK HOME FROM SCHOOL. So how would any of them react? If they fell in love with a detective. Reader has the mind to annihilate an army with minimal efforts, you have to be in a criminals mind to solve a crime. Puzzles? Which puzzles? Their motto in dungeons. Fighting against brainless monsters, child's play. Humans in panic and trying to flee from their own created consequences aren't much different. They now more about antidotes and poisons than Legend knows about his rings and to top it all off, they are as stone-faced as Time and show as much reaction to pranks and emotions like a the stone you throw into water. So if the Chain fell in love with them, they have to solve puzzles after puzzles to unravel Reader's self, to get a reaction they carved for. They have to show Reader, that they aren't an enemy but an ally, but Reader is like "Yeah sure, and my name is Mary Poppins and fly with my umbrella through your kingdom." Reader is cautious but "in dubio pro reo", in doubt, rule for the accused.
If you read all that I'm so sorry, because the second question only make it's LONGER.
Question two. We have an isekai Reader this time, but something went wrong as they travelled to Hyrule. What went wrong? I hear you ask. Well their soul got separated from their body and now Reader is inside the body of one of the chain like Yugi and Atem did in Yu-Gi-Oh. If they have similar or a different personality as the Link, this is where the fun begins. Like a prankster reader in Wind's body. They will shift the blame on each other and if Wind comes with something like.
"I couldn't do anything! They just took over my body!!"
But Chain will take awhile to understand that Wind doesn't just have more pranks as usual in his head, but a different person as well! But after they figure it out, how will they punish someone if it was the other soul inside the body? And if they fell in love with reader, as they are originally older just stuck inside a child's body like Shinichi Kudo. Do they really want to punish their sweet and funny darling? Ohhh Wind and Reader gonna exploit the shit out of it and little brother Wind loves his older sibling to the bits for their shenanigans they plan together.
But if it's like a sarcastic and swearing Reader in Time, Twilight or Sky, as we all know these guys would never swear because of their upbringing, this reaction has to be filmed. Like imagine this, Reader's soul got yeeted into Twilight's body and he fell to the ground lika a bag of potatoes and as "he" wakes up. They hear Twilight for the first time swear, as reader speaks in his voice just not having an accent or maybe they do but a different or similar or same one.
Reader woke up in Twilight's body.
Wild: "Twi, are you alright? What happened?"
Reader/Twilight: "Who the fuck is Twi?! Where am I?! And who the fuck are you guys!?!"
Legend: "I never knew that Twi, can lose his memory from this fall. Must have a pretty empty skull."
Reader/Twilight: "Listen here, twerp. I don't care about your opinion, if I knew where I am. I would go and be out of your hair, but I'm sure have more in my skull than you have. No, in fact, I have more braincells in my small finger tip than you in your head."
Twilight would wake up sometime later and drag reader back inside his unconscious. They talk and reader explain their strange journey into Twilight's body. After that Twilight takes control and explain everything to the rest, which were confused as hell as Twilight just passed out two times under one to two hours. So now they have a new goal too, find Readers body to get their soul out of Twilight as they are a little afraid of a mad and swearing Twilight! Reader. They could slap Wind across the sea, if they aren't careful with their newfound or familiar strength and temperament. But along the way they fell in love in the other soul in Twilight's body and they would be two separate kinds. The Chain and Twilight. We all know Twilight would protect his mate at all cost and if he share his body with them. Then only he can see the beauty of Reader, only he can hear their real voice only he knows their image, only as a ghost following him, but he can see them. So the Chain is know trying to find reader's body, so they could hear their real voice, see their face and talk to them without hearing and seeing Twilight as they are jealous of him, he is sharing his body with their darling after all, and it's strange as hell for them. Meanwhile Twilight is trying to find Reader's body on his own and somehow, with magic or some shit, get it to his Hyrule and after their journey is over. Twilight will probably say, that he couldn't hear reader anymore and act upset at that. Nobody knows, that he got Reader's soul back into their body and they are in Ordon for quite some time. Nobody knows he acted like Reader for months, maybe even years. It has it advantages to share you body with another soul, even if he had to swear to deceit his sword brothers, but hey he is just a wolf pup in love.
So now a list with a Link with Reader with a different personality, that came to my mind writing this piece.
Sky - For his friendly and carefree persona, how about a wild and jumpy reader
Time - He is mostly the leader, stone-faced and prankster. Definitely emotional and worrywart reader
Twilight - We got for him the the feisty and sarcastic Reader, already, because in my opinion, Twilight doesn't really can say, what he wants to say. He sugarcoat things, but reader is like "No oh oh oh Bitch"
Hyrule - To balance his low self-esteem and self-worth, I think an confident and strong-willed reader would be good for him. I think, he would even be one of the Link like Twi is, if he shared his body with their darling, he doesn't want to share and as a fae he liked to protect his shinies.
Warriors - He is the strategist and doesn't trust anyone off the bat, so gullible and cheerful Reader.
Legend - He is sarcastic and has wits, so for him I have the kind and sweet darling, they are like the mother nobody of them ever had. He would definitely sabotage the search of Reader's body to drag it to his Hyrule and hide it until everything is over. He can't LOSE someone again.
Four - He has the colours and overthinks many things at the same time, so I think he need a chilled and kinda lazy Reader, someone who can help him to relax without thinking for a bit.
Wild - This man is reckless as fuck, he definitely needs a cautious and strong reader. So someone can atleast hold his leash that doesn't have the name Twilight, Time or Warriors.
Wind - As he is a child I wasn't sure if menace Reader was the only option for him, as anyone knows, calm, mature and intelligent kids are scary sometimes. So I have Prankster Reader and the Mature Reader. Mature Reader is calm and collected, they see things from a different perspective. I'm sure Warriors would talk to them a lot for some strategies for the next battle.
Sorry that's so long, and if you read it until know, I hope you had to laugh as much as I did as I got this two crazy pieces of "What the hell is wrong with you brain?"
I don’t habe much to add to this because i am not really present in either fandom, but holy hell I needed to share this with the people

Last, and POV
LAST: (this will probably get reworded as I hate the way it flows)
Atem turned to leave, hand in pocket while the other waved casually. "I look forward to our time after work," he said while exiting the lounge.
POV: (Bakura PoV for the first 2 chapters of longfic)
Bakura stared boredly out the school window. The nerd group was in the schoolyard below…and that stupid Tomb Keeper was with them. Even after everything they’d gone through together against the Pharaoh, the traitor turned tail and went whimpering back to his master. Pathetic. He huffed out an exhaustive sigh. ‘Dammit, Ryou. Where the fuck are you?’ Two weeks. Ryou had been completely MIA for two-fucking-weeks. ‘A soul doesn’t just up and vanish on its own,’ Bakura thought to himself. ‘So what the fuck happened?’ He ignored the stares from the losers as they filed into the classroom. Marik ignored him completely as he took a seat further up. He caught Yugi looking his way. Probably trying to figure out who was fronting at the moment. Shouldn’t be hard to figure out, since he wasn’t even trying to be his host. He tuned out everything, becoming focused on the (rather incompetent) teacher as class began. He took notes, just in case he managed to figure out where the fuck Ryou’s soul was hiding. Couldn’t have him failing something so mundane as algebra. That would just be shameful, considering the kid could calculate damage modifiers in his head. When chemistry came around, he couldn’t help it. The fool was writing the wrong chemical formula and was completely oblivious to it. Did he not realize that without the bonds for the Benzine rings, he had changed the resulting chemical? He was glad when that nightmare of a class was over. The damn meatsuit was screaming for food. His feet guided him to the stairs leading to the roof on instinct, but before he could even breach the top of the stairs he heard that fool, Joey shouting. “WHAT JUST HAPPENED IN THERE!? WHY IS DA EVIL RING SPIRIT GUY WALKIN’ AROUND IN OUR BUDDY RYOU’S BODY!? AND WHY IS HE SMART !? I DIDN’T THINK EVIL SPIRITS COULD ACTUALLY KNOW STUFF!” Wonderful. They probably thought he was nothing more than an ancient parasite, like the Pharaoh. Oh, if only they knew the truth. He sauntered through the door, bitterly dropped the bombshell that he wasn’t an absolute idiot, then left. He was done with this place. If Ryou hadn’t shown himself by now, then it was highly unlikely that he would show at all. ‘Seriously Ryou….where the FUCK did you go?!’

"Yeah, you're insufferable." Bakura said before giving her a light flick on the forehead. "But you have some more tolerable traits too."
He stood up.
"Unfortunately I can't show you myself. Being dead and all that stuff, you know." The thief waved his hand like it was no big deal. "And I don't have the ring to cheat again. But if you're interested, I can recommend a few people to hang out with. Some weirdos that you should get along with."
He was mainly thinking about Ryou. Ryou would absolutely love to chat with a demigod. But getting to Ryou would also mean getting to the friendship cult. As much as they were getting on Bakura's nerve, he was sure they would also be a welcoming group for Kat.
Actually… Bakura felt confused as he realized he didn’t feel that much animosity against the kids. Sure, he didn’t like them, but he didn't feel the need to hurt them either. It looked like with Zorc gone, some things changed too in his mind. Well. Not Atem. He still wanted to strangle him. It was comforting to know this one thing hasn't changed.
"Anyway, you know how to climb?" Bakura gestured at the trees. "Better be off the ground to avoid being surprised by a roaming demon, and it will give us a better view of the river if the barque appears."
(continued from here)
Kat smiled lightly for a moment before her spirits fell again. "The idea of going back is tempting…but the idea of walking around someplace that is now foreign to me is terrifying. It wouldn't be so bad if I had someone that could show me around…but I don’t know anyone in the Living Realm. This may come as a surprise, but I’m not exactly an easy person to get along with.”

Ryou Bakura!
All right, another double meme special, coming up!
A: Bakura’s family (or at least his father) traveled a lot. As such, he lived in England at one point. In the dubverse, this leads to him having a British accent. He doesn’t have one in the mangaverse or the Japanese version, however, because he learned English in Japan in those versions.
B: Bakura read Twilight once, just to see what all the fuss was about. He was very disappointed in the lack of intentional spook.
C: Bakura has been isolated since childhood because of the spirit of the Millennium Ring. Lots of girls liking him, ironically, makes this worse because he knows they like him for his looks, meaning that he sometimes feels that people won’t like him for his personality.
D: Bakura, after the Ceremonial Duel but before DSOD, takes to contact lenses and dying his hair, taking advantage of how pale it is to dye it pretty much any color he wants. This is why he has white hair and blue/brown eyes (depending on whether you follow the manga or the anime) before DSOD, and during it he has pale blue hair and red eyes.
First impression: Cute boy. Sweet boy. Best boy.
Impression now: Cute boy. Sweet boy. Spooky boy. Best boy.
Favorite moment: Probably when he stood up to Yami Bakura at the end of the Monster World arc. I think it should have been called back to in the Memory World arc in some way, like knowing beforehand what’ll happen and subtly messing with the game to make it easier for Atem to win.
Idea for a story: Probably a one-shot focusing on Bakura messing with the Memory World RPG.
Unpopular opinion: Any kind of direct interaction between him and Yami Bakura just seems... highly implausible??? T*ndershipping is shockingly popular for a pairing where the two get like, two conversations that were both cut in the anime. Even the fics that show it as the toxic relationship it would be are improbable, in my opinion.
Favorite relationship: Probably with Honda! There was potential there that wasn’t quite explored! It’s neat how Honda was able to notice when something’s up with Bakura, which I think should have kicked in and been important later on! Bakura, for his part, really seemed to gravitate towards Honda more than the others, probably because they’re the quieter members of the group, so Bakura doesn’t feel as overwhelmed around him as with the others.
Favorite headcanon: Boy loves his horror fiction. The good, the bad, and the cheesy. This surprises a lot of people. He’ll even sometimes mess with Jounouchi about this. He’s surprisingly a bit mischievous, if you get him out of his shell enough!

Not to be bitter, but... the NAS anime Yu-Gi-Oh is a failure of an adaptation.
Random Shadow Game between Yami Bakura and Atem during Duelist Kingdom, random Duel between Jonouchi and Atem during Duelist Kingdom, Otogi’s motivation being changed and removing his father, Otogi vs Atem at DDM being a thing and Atem using LITTLE WIZARD, random Duel between Jonouchi and Kaiba when Mai’s life is on the line, the complete rewrite of the origins of Duel Monsters and so on...
But still, nothing compares to the butchery the Millennium World arc suffered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
some things that the anime completely fucked up:
A: Yami Bakura, for absolutely no logical reason, goes against Kaiba in a Shadow Game, where his Diabound monster (not to be confused with the Diabound Ka) copies BEWD’s Burst Stream of Destruction ability. Yami Bakura also gives Kaiba the Millennium Eye so that Kaiba could take part in the Memory World for absolutely no logical reason. THEN in the Memory World, Thief King Bakura’s Diabound uses Burst Stream of Destruction to stalemate Obelisk. ...
M: Yami Bakura gives the Millennium Eye to Yugi because all 7 Millennium Items are needed to open the Door to the Afterlife, as well as the Door to Darkness. Diabound also stands up to Obelisk by his own power.
-------
A: a lot of BEWD focus and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon facing off against Zorc
M: Seto seeks the power of the White Dragon which supposedly is greater than that of the Gods, but the White Dragon doesn’t actually fight against Zorc or is measured against the Egyptian Gods
-------
A: Bobasa appears in the Memory World as comic relief that seemingly has no relevance to any actual plot, until he finally! takes Yugi and Co. to Atem’s tomb.
M: Bobasa appears right before Atem and Co. enter the Domino Museum and is immediately revealed as guarding the Millennium Scales and Millennium Key; Bobasa explains everything the group needs to know about the Memory World
-------
A: Thief King Bakura has some weird goons with glowing eyes and enters the royal palace with Akhenamkhanen’s sarcophagus
M: Thief King Bakura is acting entirely on his own and drags in Akhenamkhanen’s actual mummy
-------
A: Thief King Bakura in the Memory World is actually Yami Bakura who calls the Pharaoh “Yugi“ and is aware that he is playing a Shadow Game
M: Thief King Bakura is a legitimate remnant of his 3,000 years old self, has no awareness of Yugi’s existence or the Shadow RPG, only cares about getting his revenge for the Kul Elna massacre, calls Atem “Pharaoh“
-------
A: DIADHANKS DIADHANKS DIADHANKS DIADHANKS DIADHANKS (literal Duel Disks in Ancient Egypt that are worn by Millennium Items wielders in order to summon their Ka and gauge their Ba level................)
M: .........
-------
A: Yugi and Co. aimlessly wander in mind-boggling filler
M: Yugi and Co. quickly realize they have to find out the Pharaoh’s lost name
-------
A: Seto is less assured, has everyone convincing him not to join his father or be manipulated by him
M: Seto is far more antagonistic then his anime version, he is willing to torture people and talks about “shadow politics”, while Akhenaden is trying to reason with him so that he doesn’t commit the same sin he did
“A small sacrifice of the people… isn’t even worth a pebble from the Valley of the Kings.“
“I will make the White Dragon my servant, no matter what… even if I must sacrifice the life of the wielder…“
-------
A: Seto saves Kisara when they were kids, Seto sees the White Dragon
M: Seto meets Kisara during his Ka hunt and he has just heard about the White Dragon minutes prior
-------
A: Diabound slices Saint Dragon of Osiris in half after Akhenaden harms the stone slab of SDoO
M: Saint Dragon of Osiris is weakened from Diabound’s attack but otherwise unharmed
-------
A: Yami Bakura is in Thief King Bakura’s body from the beginning of the Memory World
M: Yami Bakura possesses Thief King Bakura’s body when the latter gets taken out by Atem and the Winged Dragon of Ra
-------
 A: natural disasters starts happening all over the real world because of the events in the Shadow RPG
M: the Shadow RPG takes place within the Millennium Puzzle and doesn’t affect the outside world
-------
A: Yami Bakura has Kaiba enter the Memory World so that he can use his Ba to restore his power, just like Yugi did for Atem. (He invited Kaiba BEFORE he knew Yugi and Co. would change the events through the soul transferrence, so continuity makes no sense...)
M: Thief King Bakura has enough Ba to sustain two Ka at once, as well as take on all the Priests + Pharaoh while they quickly drain their Ba
-------
A: Yami-Bakura-in-Thief-King-Bakura’s body believes the Pharaoh’s lost name (+ the 7 Millennium Items) is needed to unseal Zorc, which is why he hijacks Honda
M: placing the 7 Millennium Items in the Tablet of Lost Memories is all that is required to unseal Zorc
-------
A: Yugi and Co. fed a hungry Bobasa with grapes so he will take them to the Pharaoh’s tomb................
M: Bobasa turns into Hasan, who says that his role is to take them to the Pharaoh’s lost name when Zorc is unsealed
-------
A: Yami Bakura uses his freezing time ability on Yugi and Co.
M: Yugi and Co. are NPC that aren’t affected by the freezing of time
-------
A: Yami Bakura says he would be in trouble if Kisara doesn’t go to Seto...........
M: ?????? Yami Bakura doesn’t know or care about Kisara/Blue-Eyes White Dragon
-------
A: Kisara and Kaiba run into each other
M: ...........
-------
A: Atem fights with Seto before the final fight with Zorc
M: Atem fights with Seto (joined with Akhenaden) after Zorc is defeated
-------
A: Atem fusions himself with Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon into Master of Dragon Knight......
M: ......... KAIBA WASN’T PRESENT.
-------
A: Zorc defeats the Egyptian Gods
M: Zorc never faces the Egyptian Gods, Atem just merges them into Horakhty
-------
A: during the Ceremonial Duel, Atem summons all 3 Egyptian Gods and too much time is spent on them
M: Atem summons Obelisk which Yugi immediately takes out, Yugi cancels the summon of Saint Dragon of Osiris, Winged Dragon of Ra makes no appearance
-------
A: Atem runs all 3 God Cards relatively early in the Duel, and even has them out simultaneously, which makes the revival of Saint Dragon of Osiris underwhelming.
M: Yugi guesses Atem would probably run 1 God Card due to the Tributes required. At the end, Atem cheats Saint Dragon of Osiris into play with Monster Reborn. Turns out Yugi predicted that all along and countered it.
-------
A: Atem has to encourage Yugi not to give up during the Duel.
M: Yugi is already resolved to fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
some things the anime completely fucked up by NOT showing:
ATEM STRAIGHT UP SHOVING THIEF KING BAKURA AWAY FROM HIS FATHER’S MUMMY AND CRADLING IT AND THEN TELING THIEF KING BAKURA “I’M GOING TO DESTROY YOU.”
Seriously, the entire scene of Atem carrying his father’s mummy in his arms, “I can still feel your love...”
far better action in the Diabound battles
Atem and Thief King Bakura being far more badass
the Priests and Pharaoh having mock battles to train their Ka
Atem defeating a cocky Seto with a Kuriboh Ka, in order to teach him that power isn’t everything
“This tomb is yours, Bakura!”; “This is our grave.”, “Do you honestly think you can defeat me?”; Mahado not using part of his Heka in order to keep the evil in the Millennium Ring suppressed
far better action in the Thief King Bakura vs Mahado battle
the group places their hands atop one another, thinking about Atem and Bobasa immediately goes “THE POWER OF THE MILLENNIUM PUZZLE IS THE POWER OF UNITY” (because Shadi already witnessed the power of their friendship) and Yugi is “THE DOOR THAT YOU CAN SHOW, BUT YOU CAN’T SEE…”; THEIR FRIENDSHIP LITERALLY OPENS THE DOOR TO THE MEMORY WORLD
Thief King Bakura killing everyone in the tavern as he enjoys his food
far better action in the Diabound vs Saint Dragon of Osiris battle
”I’ll fight until the end!! That is the duty of the Pharaoh!”
High Priest of Darkness appearing to Akhenaden following Thief King Bakura’s assault on him
more in-depth talk of the Millennium Tome, Shadow Alchemy and the creation of the Millennium Items
”I was able to resist the evil power of the Millennium Ring…These spirits are nothing before my Heka!”
Atem and Yami Bakura/Zorc playing the Shadow RPG in the Domino Museum, as well as Ryo Bakura having created the Ancient Egypt diorama
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There were far more examples, but I’m done with this trash.
Only redeeming thing this anime arc had was that Atem as a kid was super cute.

Street Fighters pt. 2
For while my life didn't change and fifty dollars wasn't a lot of money but it was a start. I was a bit sore since there was the whole fight but I had to pull through with going to be fighting tomorrow. Luckily I made it home before Aiden who came home with a bruise on his chin and a couple scratches. His best friend right by his side with less bruises and scratches.
"Long day?" I asked
My hair was wet from getting a shower to undo the braid Zoey had put in. When she braided my hair she braided it a bit tight but that was good for me. I was dressed for night so no one would know about my little adventure outside the place and in the ring. Atem was looking at me with that similar look when we were in school.
"Yeah pretty much. I made $6000 dollars tonight." Aiden said "need any money?"
"Nah, I gotta model gig tomorrow and I'll be out when you're heading out." I said
"Oh well good luck." Aiden said
I nod before heading to bed as usual not speaking to Atem as usual. I wondered what he wanted with me with how he looked at me. As much as I could socialize with him with the reputation I'd rather avoid the whole problem. It wasn't long that I was asleep and when it came to morning I was already up and heading out after breakfast.
Who knows how long they were up yesterday. I thought
I kept walking before I stopped at an orphanage that my friends and I volunteered a couple hours to sometimes. When walking in I was greeted by a group of kids a girl named Anna, Ethan and Shawn. Sometimes they didn't get enough to eat so I made it my mission to find a way to help make sure they got decent meals.
I'll work hard to become the best street fighter and I'll make sure that I can open a place that will help these kids get better meals. I thought
I didn't share this information with anyone cause I wanted it to be a surprise. I had a resolution so I decided that I was going to do whatever it took no matter what it took so that I could accomplish this. High school graduation was close by so I had to be mindful of my grades as well.
When we were done, I handed the kids $15 to help them get some snacks at the local store they were allowed to visit once a day. I was going to give them a little bit of money from all my winnings till I could accomplish my end goal. I knew it wouldn't be right away but if I fought everyday and it kept going up $50 at a time then I had a chance to make some really good money.
This isn't a full solution to street fight for the rest of my life but for now it'll help me. It won't be cheap to get the place up and going. I thought
My mine made up I knew I had to get stronger and more dedicated to the cause as I sighed. Still I walked with my friends as we headed out to the arena and in there we started training more. I had more resolve this time so I was actually learning with our session.
Again when we headed to the place I was dressed up and got things taken care of. I wanted nothing more than to get this done and over with before we headed out. The fight is nothing to talk about as I won as usual and took him $100.
For weeks this happened and I fought 4 out of the seven days a week. If I got hurt I blamed it on Laila who was my school bully. My aunt who was my doctor bought the lie every time and I had to be thankful she didn't question it.
This happened to be one of those days and I was on the side line having to let my arm heal a bit so I was glad it was on the days I didn't show up.I walked in my room and counted out the money.
"Nice, $10,105. It's a small amount but it's only a portion of what I need to have such a big place to feed those in need." I said
Every time I've won so far I've gave the kids at least $20 of my winnings to get food from the place the orphanage lady lets them go to. I thought
I was doing my homework after counting it putting it back in the place where it was safest and doing some things. I had my door open so when I heard Aiden come in the house clearly talking to his friend about someone. I knew I had twenty wins now. So My next full amount when I got back in would be $1500 dollars.
"Man, I can't believe that there is a girl street fighter who hasn't lost once since she started. This Bre must be something to win twenty battles in over a month." Aiden said
"Well she's got my interest." Atem said
I looked towards the door hearing them talk and realized I was becoming the girl of talk with my winnings. If I lost I wouldn't get any money on the fight night to help the kids. Zoey had backup but that didn't mean that I was going to lose.
Guys vs girls isn't allowed. I thought
"So man what would you do if you met her?" Aiden asked
"Ask her to be my girlfriend." Atem said
As if. I thought
I went back and finished my homework as I was going to figure out what to do. Finals before graduation were coming up and I wanted to be prepared. I didn't want to think about if I lost but I knew I could figure out what more I could do. Sure I could of gone to grandfather for a loan but I didn't want to be obligated to do as he says.
When I as done I walked out there and was heading out to do things. As I was making my way to the door Aiden grabbed my good arm seeing the bandage. He would have known that I would say Laila did it and as I looked past him seeing even Atem looked a bit angered.
"Laila again?" Aiden said
"Not exactly her but people associated with her." I said
"Tell me their names and I'll take care of them." Aiden said
"Nah, it's fine. Zoey already took care of it." I said
"Britt.." Aiden said
I pulled my arm away as I walked to the door and put my coat on. On my off days of not fighting I modeled for spare money to get closer to the goal. Modeling was a safer way to get the money and Mrs. Knight knew of my goal.
"I'm going to the Knight Parlor." I said
"Modeling?" Aiden asked
"Duh. Her other model canceled." I said
"Be safe." Atem said
Why do you care? I thought
I just nod as I headed out and closed the door as I walked to the Knight Parlor. I heard footsteps behind me and I knew who was following me as my sisters walked on each side of me.
"Truth time, who is hurting you?" Bre asked
"I push my muscles a bit too much in street fighting." I admit
Nana and Bre made me stop as they looked at me "You..street fight?"
"Yeah, I'm Bre." I admitted
My sisters looked at me shocked and we kept walking as I was going to the Knight Parlor. When we arrived Tanya was there and she led me over to the dresses. My sisters watched as we were there a good four hours and I was allowed to keep some of the dresses. Bre got to choose if she wanted any as well since we were twins we were the same size.
"You do so well." Nana said
"I've been doing this for a few years." I said
"Well yes." Nana said
Mrs. Knight walked over and handed me an envelope and I took it. The money was for the charity I was working to make and I didn't want to open a small one I wanted to open a big one.
"If you need anything please reach out." Mrs. Knight said
"I appreciate it." I said
"Your goal is going to help a lot of kids in need." Mrs. Knight said
I nod and smiled
How much more should I earn up? How popular will Bre get? I thought

Snippet: Prince Yugi/bodyguard Atem AU 2 - The Forbidden Little Book
Sequel to “New Year’s Ball”
For a complete overview check the contents page
If you saw this post you already know about this AU of mine. The title basically says it all. Prince Yugi, body guard Atem, forbidden love, drama. ;D
Since the last snippet turned out to be pretty popular I decided to write a sequel. I love this AU, even though I’m still busy with plotting the brothel story. :D Special thanks to my friend @lovecraft-barbie (who is also a duck) for beta reading. Love ya, sweetie. <3
Contains some sexy themes but no sexy actions as of yet lol.
This time: The New Year’s Ball is over and Yugi has to tend to his duties as a prince again. He has to face the possibility of a war, deal with his feelings towards his bodyguard, and also comes upon a book that contains knowledge that is forbidden to a prince…
“My prince? Are you all right?”, Atem said. His gentle baritone voice sent a shiver down Yugi’s spine like it often did. Yugi looked at his bodyguard beside him in the gently rocking carriage.
“Just a little uncomfortable. I don’t like…this sort of thing. And they know”, Yugi said and played with the silvery ribbons that held together his blue, fur-lined cloak.
“Don’t worry, my prince. You’re still their future king and they will honour you as such”, Atem said with a smile that Yugi couldn’t help but return.
The sound of fanfares grew louder until the vehicle came to a halt. Atem checked his sword and pistol before he got off. Even though Yugi couldn’t see it, he knew what was happening. Atem circled the carriage, made sure everything was safe and stopped next to the footman at Yugi’s door. Only once Atem gave the sign, the servant opened it.
A cool breeze blew inside. Yugi took a deep breath, adjusted his cloak and gloves, and stepped outside. Soldiers in blue frock coats lined the path to a big building of grey stone. A small orchestra was playing the national anthem.
A group of high-ranking officials, as Yugi knew by the small medals attached to their uniforms, was waiting for him. Leading them was a tall man with a grey beard and the same gold-brown skin as Atem. He and the others saluted Yugi.
“General Aknamkanon Sennen at your service, your highness. It’s an honour to welcome you at Military Headquarters Alpha 12”, he said.
“Thank you, General.”
“I will show you around”, General Sennen said and gestured at the building behind him. Inside, he walked Yugi past paintings of former officials and introduced him to some of his colleagues. Yugi listened to introductions and shook hands while an assistant of his stood near him and took notes of everything that was being said.
Afterwards, they entered the inner courtyard. A unit of soldiers surrounded them in a square formation, replacing the usual squad of royal guards around Yugi. A few snowflakes were falling and being whirled around by the wind.
They passed soldiers who were training in sword fighting, shooting, and hand-to-hand-combat. General Sennen listed the techniques they were teaching and pointed out the instructors who were serving with their experience. They reached a tower.
“Have you ever witnessed a canon being shot, your highness?”, General Sennen said as they were ascending.
“No, never”, Yugi said a moment before they reached the top. A gust made everyone’s cloaks flap around.
“We would like to change that if we may”, General Sennen said and presented Yugi with one of the engineers who had helped build the canons, of which there were five on the tower. He explained how they worked and gestured at the field before them that was covered in craters from the numerous exercises.
Everyone but the engineer and a few soldiers stepped back. They loaded the canon, accompanied by the engineer yelling commands.
“Fire!”
BOOM.
The ground below them trembled, a cloud of smoke emerged and Yugi stumbled backwards. Almost simultaneously, he was caught and shielded by a blue cape. Yugi looked up at Atem and didn’t know if his knees were wobbly because of the impact or his bodyguard’s beautiful, crimson eyes.
“Is everything all right, my prince?”, he whispered with so much gentility it warmed Yugi from the inside.
“Y-Yes, I’m fine”, Yugi said. Atem loosened his grip and stepped back. Yugi still felt his arm around his shoulders. Oftentimes, Atem was so silent Yugi forgot he was even there. But he was and he was always ready to protect Yugi…
Yugi cleared his throat and looked at the new crater the shot had created. Everyone had a smile on their face and Yugi knew they were waiting for his appreciation.
“Thank you for the demonstration. It was very impressive”, Yugi said politely but lacking the enthusiasm everyone had expected.
After a few more conversations, General Sennen offered to return to the main complex with Yugi. Yugi accepted and a little later, they were once more making their way over the inner courtyard. The soldiers around them were armed with swords and muskets. While Yugi had seen royal guards with weapons all his life he hadn’t quite comprehended that they were designed to take lives, not only defend, until…
“You don’t seem pleased, your highness”, General Sennen said. Yugi gulped. Did this sort of attentiveness run in Atem’s family?
“I know you’re doing excellent work, General. I’m as pleased as a pacifist can be.”
“I understand your concerns, your highness. If it calms you, we’ll be using our equipment and resources to protect Dareia. Not to invade another country”, General Sennen said. “And I’m afraid that not all conflicts can be solved with diplomacy is a fact, even if it’s a sad one.”
Yugi chewed on his bottom lip. He knew he wasn’t here to engage in any discussions. Yet, his thoughts refused to be silent.
“Actually, a few months ago there was a gathering of philosophers at a university in Eurodokia and they came to the conclusion…”
Yugi stopped walking when he felt something different under his boot on the otherwise smooth ground. He looked down and saw a little, blue book under his shoe. Everyone else had frozen and gasped. Even Atem’s eyes had widened.
“Whose is that?!”, General Sennen hissed at the soldiers that surrounded them. He stomped towards a young man with dark, curly hair and a face as red as a strawberry. “Is it yours, cadet?!”
“Y-Yes, General”, he said, too scared to even try to lie.
“You dare carry such filth with you in the presence of the prince?! Apologise!”, General Sennen said.
“I’m deeply sorry, your highness!”, the soldier said and bowed. Everyone looked at Yugi. He had no idea what the little, blue book was about but it seemed to be a bad thing. He crossed his arms.
“I will look over it this once. But this better not happen again”, Yugi said to General Sennen.
“Of course not, your highness”, he said and turned to the soldier. “You better thank the prince for his benevolence!”
“O-Of course. Thank you, your highness”, the soldier said and bowed so deeply his hat almost fell off.
“Now back to the living quarters with you! I will decide on your punishment for disgracing us like this later. Dismissed!”, General Sennen said and the soldier marched away with wooden moves. General Sennen gestured at the building before them and they continued their way towards it. “I cannot apologise enough, your highness. Please believe me when I say that this doesn’t reflect our soldiers’ behaviour at all.”
“I would hope so.”
They walked inside, upstairs, and into the general’s office rooms. One of Yugi’s servants took off his cloak and Yugi handed him his scarf and gloves. Only he, Atem and his father entered the general’s main office. Yugi sat down across from him at his desk while Atem closed the door behind them. He would silently remain in a corner as usual.
On the walls hung different maps, one of them showing the continent and the countries surrounding it. A fire was crackling to Yugi’s left.
“Your highness, feel free to skip the social niceties and get straight to the point of your visit”, General Sennen said with folded hands. Though Yugi had expected it from Atem’s father, he wasn’t used to such directness.
“Thank you”, he said. “Well then…if it comes to a war with Thanos, how long would we last?”
Cold hit Yugi’s core at those words and the fact that he was required to say them. A line had appeared between General Sennen’s furrowed brows.
“In best case: a year. In worst case: six months.”
Yugi gulped. That was the answer he had feared.
“I see.”
“May I ask you: How high are the chances that it’ll come to a war with Thanos?”
Yugi glanced at one of the maps. To the north of the continent lay Thanos, a nation five times bigger than all the countries of the continental alliance combined. He looked back at the general.
While his eyes were brown and not red like Atem’s they shared the same clearness and determination. They were another indicator, beside the family’s history of loyalty to the crown, that Yugi could trust him with the truth.
“I’m afraid it’s a likely possibility”, Yugi said. “My mother, the queen, is corresponding every day with our allies of the continent and overseas. Even with the leader of Thanos, trying to solve the conflict through diplomacy after all. Sadly, that endeavour doesn’t seem to bear fruit.”
General Sennen took a deep breath through his nostrils.
“I’m worried to hear this. I’m sure the queen is doing everything in her power.”
“That she is”, Yugi said. The rings under her eyes and her tired smile were only a few proofs of that. “But there’s still hope. I will soon travel to Kallias and try to convince the empress of aiding us. She has a better relation to Thanos than all countries of the continental alliance. If I can convince her to be on our side, we can still prevent the worst.”
“So nothing is sure as of now?”, General Sennen said.
“Yes. For good and for bad.”
A faint smile played about General Sennen’s lips.
“Thank you for your honest answer, your highness”, he said and turned to a small table behind himself. Yugi’s gaze wandered to the map once more. A group of islands, ranging from tiny to big, to the continent’s south east was labelled Kallias. It’d be a long journey…
“Here are the documents you requested, your highness”, General Sennen said and slid a thick folder to Yugi. General Sennen took a monocle from his breast pocket, placed it between his eyebrow and cheek bone, and began to talk Yugi through the different sections. He explained the factors they had considered and how they played into the calculations. Yugi had to suppress a shudder at seeing so many human lives being treated as mere numbers.
How many soldiers would die? How long would the supplies last? When would the city walls fall? The bad results only tightened the knot in his throat.
“I’m sorry it looks as grim as it does”, the general said when they had gone through everything within almost two hours. He placed the monocle back in his uniform’s pocket and closed his copy of the folder.
“Well, there’s no use in being afraid. Whatever comes, we’ll face it with courage and dignity”, Yugi said. “Please hand the documents to one of my assistants. Is there any other issue that should be brought to my attention?”
“None, your highness. Thank you for your time”, General Sennen said. “But before you leave, may I have a word with the Royal Protector?”
He gestured at Atem who had been standing in a corner all this time. Despite that, he looked as alert as ever.
“You may”, Yugi said. General Sennen rang a small bell on his desk and a moment later a subordinate entered. While General Sennen gave her instructions about the documents, Yugi returned to the room next door. As soon as he entered, his servant brought his cloak, scarf, and gloves. Yugi peeked into the office as he was getting dressed. Atem and his father were standing across from each other.
“I assume you will accompany the prince to Kallias?”, General Sennen said.
“Yes, father.”
“Do you think you’ll visit your mother?”
Atem’s shoulders drooped slightly.
“Yes, I think so”, he said with a sad undertone. General Sennen’s eyes shifted over the floor.
“I know her family takes good care of her grave but please bring her a bouquet of lilies. You know they were her favourites. And tell her…I miss her.”
“I will… I’ll tell her that we both miss her”, Atem said. General Sennen patted Atem’s shoulder.
“I’m proud of you and your services to the prince. And your mother would be too”, he said. Atem smiled.
“Thank you.”
The servants gave Yugi’s coat a quick brush and wiped his boots. A little later, he left the building with General Sennen and Atem at his sides. Again, soldiers lined the path to his carriage. When they had reached it, Yugi turned to General Sennen one last time.
“Thank you for the tour and for aiding us with your knowledge. You proved once again that you provide the country with strong and competent soldiers. Of course the latter is something I’m reminded of every day”, Yugi said and gestured at Atem. General Sennen’s face lightened up. He saluted Yugi and so did his subordinates.
“It’s an honour to serve you, your highness. Have a pleasant journey.”
Yugi entered the vehicle and Atem joined him from the other side. Once more, fanfares played as they started moving. Yugi leaned back and sighed, relieved that the appointment was over.
“You didn’t need to say that to my father”, Atem said and only now Yugi noticed the pink stains on his cheeks.
“The truth needs to be said. I’m very grateful to have you by my side. You’re the reason why I still feel safe despite…everything”, Yugi said. Atem turned to him with his eyes of a red that would warm Yugi in the deepest of snowstorms.
“I will always keep you save, my prince. No matter what happens”, he said and his voice was both as deep as thunder and gentle as velvet. If only it could be the first thing Yugi heard in the morning and the last one he heard at night…
Yugi cleared his throat and watched out of the window. They were passing a small forest of barren trees and a sign that pointed towards the capital where his next appointment would take place. In a small compartment one of his assistants had placed a file that contained the most important facts about that meeting. He took it out and opened it. It was blue, which reminded Yugi of something.
“Atem, the little, blue book that soldier dropped…what was that all about?”
“You don’t know…?”
“No, I bluffed”, Yugi said and scratched his cheek. Atem rubbed his neck.
“It was a convincing bluff then. But of course it’s beneath you to know such things…”
“To know what?”
“Well…these blue, little books…they’re sold everywhere in the capital… They’re really cheap and low-quality…”
“What’s inside?”, Yugi said. Atem played with the small gold medal on his chest. He avoided Yugi’s gaze.
“Well…pornography. It’s really cheap pornography.”
A hot wave of embarrassment swept through Yugi. His eyes widened.
“Oh…! Now I understand why everyone… I feel so silly!”
“But your reaction was appropriate! Everyone knows that nobles and especially royalty are above such…vulgarities…”
“Y-Yes. Of course”, Yugi said and hid his face in his file. But his knees still felt wobbly at the thought of having been so close to a piece of pornography. And those were sold everywhere in the city? It had to be really easy for a commoner to acquire such a thing…
Yugi shook his head. What was he thinking?! He, a prince! It was more than indecent! It was a sin! He took a deep breath and began reading the words in front of him, preparing for the next item on today’s schedule.
~~~
The usual fanfares played when Yugi got out of the carriage. The crowd around him applauded and cheered and Yugi waved at them. A woman in a forest green skirt and grey blouse received him. Her black hair was pinned up and she wore a white lab coat like the six people around her. They all bowed before Yugi.
“Welcome to Red Leaf Hospital, your highness. Your visit is an honour. I’m Doctor Ishtar, chief of medicine”, she said.
“Thank you. I apologise for the tumult my visit is causing. I hope I’m not disturbing anyone’s rest”, Yugi said but Dr Ishtar gave a calm smile.
“Don’t worry, your highness. If anything, the anticipation for your visit has caused more smiles than usual.”
Inside, more beaming faces awaited him. Surrounded by royal guards, Dr Ishtar led him through a few wards into a research area. She explained some theories that had helped them find a cure for certain viruses and would be helpful for potential breakthroughs. Yugi looked through microscopes, watched some experiments and listened to explanations, even though he understood only little of the medical terms.
Everyone he talked to dropped hints about how a separate building for their research would be “most beneficial”. Yugi didn’t decide this sort of thing by himself but after seeing how dedicated and professional the scientists were he was inclined to favour the idea.
As soon as they left the research area Yugi noticed a group of three young women with red scarves among the other onlookers and a few journalists with notepads and pens. The girls squealed, giggled, and pointed at him. Yugi ignored them. He was used to this sort of admiration from women, even though he never boasted about it.
Dr Ishtar was telling him about the history of the wing to their right. They passed another ward and through the glass doors Yugi could look inside. The patients were either sleeping in bed or being examined by doctors and nurses with surgical masks. The patients all had tired looks on their faces and their skin was covered in greenish and yellowish bumps. The sight caused a feeling of nausea in Yugi.
“A highly contagious area. We best keep going, your highness”, Dr Ishtar said. For a moment they walked in silence. “I’m sorry you had to see this.”
“When I walk into a hospital I know I have to expect seeing illness”, Yugi said. He wished he could have done something for these people instead of just walking by. But he also knew that a doctor could do a lot more for them than a prince, no matter how much his visit might boost their spirits.
“The lack of antibiotics is especially harmful in these cases. We ration them already but since we can’t expect new shipments from Thanos any time soon…”, Dr Ishtar said. Yugi’s organs tightened at those words.
“I understand. I, the queen, and everyone in our service are doing what we can to ease the tension between our countries.”
Dr Ishtar stopped and so did her colleagues, Yugi, and the royal guards. They, the onlookers and even the scarf girls were silent for a moment.
“Your highness…do we have to fear a war?”, Dr Ishtar said. The hallway was silent. Yugi saw the fear in the eyes of everyone around him. He knew he couldn’t cause a panic by giving them the same answer as General Sennen. He put on a smile.
“Of course not”, he said. “Yes, there are a couple of disagreements but nothing that can’t be solved through diplomacy. All we need is a little help from the empress of Kallias. And I’m sure you heard that I will journey there soon to take care of the problem.”
All the sighs and little laughs around him were both relief and a stab in the gut for Yugi. Dr Ishtar’s expression softened as well.
“Please know that the people will miss you”, she said and they continued to walk. “If you still have time, may I show you the rest of the hospital grounds?”
Yugi glanced at his assistant behind him. She checked her pocket watch and nodded at Yugi.
“Please do”, he said. They left the building through a set of double doors. A breath of fresh, crisp air filled Yugi’s lungs. The trees, bushes, and flower beds were barren and capped by snow, yet Yugi noticed the creative patterns they were arranged in. In spring the garden had to be full of colour and life.
Only few bushes were blossoming, among them winter roses. The pink petals reminded Yugi of his and Atem’s almost-kiss a few weeks ago at the New Year’s Ball. He rubbed the back of his hand and looked straight forward.
Yugi waved at a nurse and his patient in a wheelchair. They gasped in surprise and returned the gesture. The three girls with red scarves were still following the group as closely as the royal guards let them.
“Do you like cats, your highness?”, Dr Ishtar said as they passed a frozen pond.
“Uhm, yes. Why?”
“We have a cat house over there. Besides being excellent mousers, we found that many patients benefit from their company. So we set up a few rooms for them where people can visit”, Dr Ishtar said.
“That sounds wonderful. I’d love to see it.”
Royal guards secured the little redbrick house and entered it with Yugi, Dr Ishtar, and the others. They reached a hall with tall windows that let the sunshine in. Three shelves contained one cushion per compartment that served as cat beds. On half of them, cats had rolled up or were sleeping. Others were sitting on one of the couches, drinking from bowls or playing with small balls or ribbons. Most of them looked up when the group of people entered, others didn’t care. There was something calm and peaceful about the room that Yugi noticed immediately.
“The ones on the sofas are usually the ones that enjoy attention the most”, Dr Ishtar said as the guards were positioning in each corner, at each window and each door.
“I see”, Yugi said and sat down next to a brown one with black stripes. It gave Yugi a curious look with its green eyes. “Hey there. May I pet you?”
Yugi slipped off his gloves and offered his hand. The cat sniffed it and when it didn’t object, Yugi let a palm run over its soft fur.
“Aww, look at that. The cats love him too! And how couldn’t they?”, one of the scarf girls said and giggled with her friends. Dr Ishtar took seat next to him and a moment later, a fluffy, auburn cat jumped on her lap.
“Seems like you’re pretty popular here”, Yugi said.
“I admit, it’s not only the patients who consider this place relaxing”, she said. For a while they chatted while more cats assembled around them, demanding attention. The green-eyed one soon sat down on Yugi’s lap, purred, and hissed at every cat that came too close.
Some tried to get the royal guards to pet them but they either ignored the cats or gently pushed them away. A few guards kept glancing at them, biting their lips and suppressing the wish to cuddle them. Atem was one of them. A black one nudged his legs over and over and Atem gave a silent sigh of unhappiness.
Yugi knew Atem loved cats. He had owned one as a child in Kallias. It had even been present in one of the family photos Atem had shown him once. If only Yugi could tell him to sit down next to him and enjoy the animals’ company with him. But like so often, they couldn’t be together despite being so close…
Atem stepped in front of one of the scarf girls who was trying to walk past the guards with a small box in her hands.
“Not one step further, miss”, Atem said.
“I…I just have a small gift for the prince.”
“For safety reasons, the prince can’t accept gifts that haven’t been thoroughly checked. We have neither the time nor have we brought the personnel to do so now. So please, step back.”
Her face turned red in anger.
“What’s the big deal?! It’s just a few cookies I made!”
“That could be laced with poison. Miss, these security measures exist for a reason. Please, step back.”
“Listen, I spent all afternoon yesterday-”
“And I don’t care”, Atem said, louder. The other onlookers turned their heads and stopped their conversations. A few royal guards stepped closer in case their assistance became necessary. “As the prince’s Royal Protector I’m responsible for his safety. And if I deem you a risk for that safety I will take measures to remove you from his vicinity. I’m asking you one last time: Please – step – back.”
He didn’t move a muscle. The girl stared at Atem, her nostrils flared. Like most people, she couldn’t counter his dominant presence.
“Fine!”, she said and stomped back to her friends. All three twisted their faces and whispered to each other, yet they were loud enough for people to hear them.
“Why does someone as kind and sweet as the prince have such a horrible person as his bodyguard?!”
“I don’t like him one bit! Why is someone that rude allowed to be near the prince?!”
“I heard his father is a general, so there you go…”
Atem didn’t react and just returned to his spot from before, as did the other guards. But Yugi clenched his teeth in anger. They had no idea how much hard work it had taken Atem to be allowed to become his bodyguard! How hard he worked every day, always alert and ready to save Yugi’s life any second! That he had saved it before he had ever thought about becoming Yugi’s Royal Protector! How dare they say such filthy words about someone who was both so strong and affectionate?!
“Excuse me. I need a breath of fresh air”, Yugi said, placed the green-eyed cat on a cushion beside him and stood up. The girls were still gossiping as he and Atem left the house through a back door. They reached a small backyard, enclosed by a red brick wall.
“Are you all right, my prince? You seem worried”, Atem said. Yugi hugged himself.
“Not worried. Mad”, he said. “They’re the horrible ones! They have no idea what you do for me every day!”
Atem’s eyes widened. He scratched his head.
“You don’t need to be bothered, my prince. They just don’t understand the concept of security.”
“But it does bother me! You’re the kindest and most caring person I know! And they say such things about you…”
Yugi’s cheeks glowed in indignation.
“My prince…I’m touched by your concern but I don’t care what anyone says as long as I can serve you. Besides, scaring people away is part of my duty.”
Yugi chuckled. Warmth radiated from his chest like so often when he and Atem had a moment that only belonged to them.
Clank!
The sound came from around the corner. Atem placed a hand on his sword pummel and gestured Yugi to stay where he was. Atem sneaked around the corner but his posture relaxed.
“It’s just another cat, my prince”, he said. The black one from before appeared around Atem’s legs and meowed.
“Well, go ahead and pet it before it eats us. I know you love cats”, Yugi said. Atem couldn’t suppress a grin.
“Thank you, my prince”, he said and knelt down. The cat closed its eyes as Atem’s hand ran over its head and back. Yugi sat down on a bench and watched how gently Atem chucked the cat under its chin. It purred and Yugi couldn’t blame it. Atem’s touch was always so tender and careful, yet it made one feel so safe…
Yugi’s eyes shifted over the floor. His jaw dropped when he saw something in front of the trash can beside him. It couldn’t be…!
In the snow lay a small, blue book, the same kind the soldier from earlier had dropped! How did it get here? Who had wanted to throw it away? A doctor? A nurse? A patient? Did people really carry this sort of stuff around in a hospital? It didn’t matter!
Yugi looked at Atem whose attention was still directed at the black cat at his feet. His heart was thudding against his chest. An idea came to his mind and he had only seconds to act on it.
He snatched the little book from the ground and stuffed it into his vest pocket under his cloak. A moment later, Atem rose and turned around.
“As cute as the little guy is I don’t want to steal your time”, he said and furrowed his brows. “Are you all right? Your face is all red, my prince.”
“Y-Yes, I’m fine”, Yugi said and took a deep breath to calm himself. But the blood in his veins was still tingling. He stood up and adjusted his clothes, making sure that the book wouldn’t fall out. “Let’s go back inside. I don’t want to keep anyone waiting.”
~~~
“Are you really all right, my prince?”, Atem said. They were sitting next to each other in the carriage.
“Y-Yes. Like I told you”, Yugi said, keeping the trembling in his voice to a minimum. He didn’t understand it himself. Even during heated discussions that took place in public, Yugi always managed to remain calm and rational. But now he couldn’t help but fidget with his gloves and cloak and despite the cold, a few drops of sweat ran over his temple.
Maybe it was because now he was doing something forbidden. He might as well be smuggling a bomb into the palace! It’d be a scandal if anyone found out! Why did Atem have to be so watchful and notice that something was different?! Then again, he couldn’t be mad at Atem for being his usual loving self…
Yugi looked out the window and saw how they were passing the golden gate to the palace. The U-shaped complex had four floors, pale yellow walls and a dark red roof. The carriage came to a halt at the entrance. Again, Atem got out first and when the door to Yugi’s left opened he stepped out as well. Almost done…now he only had to bring his little secret into his rooms and then…
Yugi’s knees wobbled, he tripped but was caught by Atem’s arms. Yugi thought he had a sudden fever.
“Careful”, Atem said and Yugi felt his breath on his face.
“Th-Thank you”, Yugi said and ended the accidental hug. He checked his vest pocket. The book was still there. Phew…! “You’re always so quick. I don’t know how you do it.”
“Nothing a good bodyguard shouldn’t be capable of”, Atem said and adjusted the small medal on his chest. The strong, well-trained chest Yugi had leaned against a few seconds ago… Yugi cleared his throat.
“Thank you for your service. You may retreat for now.”
Atem bowed with a hand on his heart.
“My prince.”
Yugi walked inside and upstairs into his personal wing. Servants opened the door for him and in the first hallway, two maids in grey dresses were already waiting. Yugi raised a hand to keep them at a safe distance.
“Just a moment. I need to take a few notes before I forget”, he said and rushed past them into his study. He closed the door behind himself and leaned against it. His shaky finger pulled the book out if his vest pocket. The thin cover had a few dog-ears and it was a little wet and muddy from the snow it had lain in. But that was nothing that wouldn’t dry.
Yugi gulped. Could he risk it…?
He opened it slightly but shut it a second later. His pulse quickened. He hadn’t seen much, only a drawing of two people, their naked bodies wrapped around each other. It really was…!
He dashed towards his desk and stuffed the book into back of one of the drawers. No one would find it here, right? No servant was allowed to enter unless it was to dust, sweep the floor or bring him a cup of tea. Not even his assistants were allowed to touch anything without his explicit consent. It was safe, it was safe…!
These thoughts calmed him enough to return to the maids. They took off his cloak and Yugi handed them his scarf and gloves.
“Lord Shada is already waiting for you”, one of the maids said. Lord Shada taught Yugi the languages of the continent and the countries beyond. Nowadays they mostly focussed on Kallian in preparation for his mission. Despite its complicated grammar, Yugi had grown to like the language over the years. Time to focus on that!
“Very well. I’ll see him immediately”, he said.
~~~
In the evening, Yugi sat at a round table with his mother, grandfather, Lord Shada, and a few other nobles. Everyone was holding cards in their hands. Some sipped at their wine glasses or nibbled on a pastries. Yugi played his last card and lost. He sighed.
“It’s unlike you to lose that often, Prince Yugi”, his grandfather said three seats away from him.
“I’m afraid the prince has been rather distracted during his lessons as well”, Lord Shada, a bald man with blue eyes and mostly a serious expression, said. Yugi scratched his head. In his thoughts he had been with the little, blue book all day. He had even found excuses to return to his study to make sure it was still there.
“Is something wrong, dear?”, the queen beside Yugi said. He couldn’t look her in the eyes.
“Y-Yes. I guess I just didn’t sleep so well”, he said. If they knew…!
Yugi watched the rest of the game while eating a little raspberry tart. One player after another dropped out until his grandfather won. Finally…!
“Congratulations. Good game”, Yugi said like all the others. He stood up and pushed the chair against the table. “Good night, lords and ladies. Mother.”
Everyone wished him a good night. Yugi left the room. He’d rather go straight to bed and spend time with his secret. But there was one last appointment waiting for him, one that he didn’t want to give up despite his impatience.
He entered the library next door. Atem was sitting on a couch in a corner, surrounded by shelves that reached the roof. Even though he was wearing casual clothes, he stood up and bowed when Yugi approached him.
“I’m sorry to keep you waiting. It was a long game. I’m sure you would have enjoyed it too if those matches weren’t exclusively for nobles”, Yugi said.
“I don’t mind. Waiting for you is worth every second, my prince”, Atem said. Yugi’s heart fluttered like a hummingbird. They sat down and Atem picked up the book from the low table in front of them. Tonight it was his turn to read and Yugi would get to listen to Atem’s wonderful, deep voice…
“Last time the two sisters had met in the abandoned castle, right?”, Yugi said.
“Yes, and discussed what to do about that hunter”, Atem said and opened the book. He cleared his throat. “Chapter 8. On the following day…”
Yugi placed his elbow on the arm rest and leaned his cheek against his palm. He didn’t pay much attention to the novel and enjoyed the view on Atem instead. He watched those perfectly shaped lips form words, marvelled at his handsome face, got lost in those eyes of the same colour as roses… If only Yugi could look at him forever… No person at the palace was more attractive than Atem…not only for his outer appearance but also for his loyalty and patience and tenderness… If only Yugi had no other duties and could spend all day with Atem…
The grandfather clock in the corner struck ten and made Yugi flinch. Already?
“What a shame”, Atem said and shut the book.
“Yeah…I’d love to know what happens next”, Yugi lied. “I’ll read the rest of the chapter tomorrow night then.”
Atem left the novel on a window sill. He accompanied Yugi to the door to his chambers, even though his own were in a different part of the palace.
“Good night, my prince. Sleep well”, Atem said.
“You too. And thank you for reading”, Yugi said and for a moment they just smiled at each other. “Good night.”
Once inside his chambers, his servants helped him change into his pyjamas, washed his face and combed his hair. He lay down in bed but he had no intentions of falling asleep yet. He waited until the last servant had retreated and everything was quiet for half an hour.
Yugi got up and put on his slippers and dressing gown. He sneaked through the corridors into his study, conscious of every little sound he made. He took the little blue book out of the drawer, stuffed it into his dressing gown’s pocket, and stole back into his bed room. After closing the door behind himself Yugi took a deep breath.
No one had seen him. Everything was quiet. He was still alone.
He turned the key in the lock and lit a candle on the bedside table. He sat down on the mattress with his legs crossed and pulled out the book. He held it in his trembling hands. By the gods, he really had it! A nervous laugh escaped his throat.
For a moment, Yugi thought about how wrong and sinful his actions were. He was a prince and had the duty to resist the temptations of the flesh! If he just tore it apart and threw it into a fire now, he could still maintain a clear conscience. But instead, he opened the book.
Yugi would almost have dropped it. Eyes wide, his heart thudded against his chest. The picture showed a naked man and woman. She was on all fours while the man was kneeling behind her. The page was titled “position of the week”. “Try it tonight!” and other, more vulgar lines were written around it.
Yugi gulped. So commoners knew different positions…? He had only learned about one when he had been educated on the matter: woman on her back, man on top of her, as little physical contact as possible. Yugi knew he should be disgusted at the thought of humans behaving like animals like this…but he wasn’t. His breath deepened. If there were no expectations for him and his future wife to always remain calm and rational…why not forget about any sophistication for a night and become an animal…?
Yugi leafed through the rest of the book. The drawings were only messy sketches and nothing like a real painting. Many features didn’t even seem anatomically correct. Then again, the buyers of these books probably didn’t care.
Some pages were damaged or missing. There were three sections, one heterosexual and two homosexual but Yugi only cared for the first one. The drawings did it in several positions, some so unexpected it made Yugi’s head dizzy. Some pleasured each other in ways that couldn’t have anything to do with reproduction.
Instructions and tips were written underneath or beside the pictures. They used many words Yugi had never come across and he could only guess what they meant. Was there an entire language dedicated to this sort of thing…?
Heat pooled in Yugi’s nether regions and despite the exhausting day he felt awake. He flinched when he felt his pants shift. He looked down on himself and covered his open mouth.
“Oh no…! Dammit…!”
He was sweating, both in excitement and embarrassment. This had happened regularly a few years back when his body had been in the middle of change from child to grown-up. He had believed this phase was over…! But he hadn’t come upon anything like the little, blue book since then.
He knew what to do now, right? Step outside onto his balcony barefooted, tuck his hands under his arm pits, and endure the cold until it that urge went away. But the book in his hands made the alternative so much more appealing…
He silently asked the gods for forgiveness and felt ashamed for a moment. He then turned to the candle and blew it out, engulfing the room in darkness.
Mako: Gh…
Mako: I… Lost!
Joey: Tsunami…
Mako: I believe my dad lives somewhere in the ocean… And using this sea deck, I fought on for him.
Joey: You poured your feelings about your father who never came back from sea into that deck…
Mako: Well… At least nothing happens when you lose! Wahahaha!
Joey: That’s not what’s important, Tsunami.
Joey: We, the duelists, believed in something with our hearts, and fought for it!
Joey: I may have won this duel, but…
Joey: Mako, you’re not wrong!
Mako: Joey Wheeler…
Mako: Take my rare card— and the puzzle card!
Joey: Tsunami…
Mako: Carry on for me… And make it to the finals!
Joey: Alright! I’ve received your heart, Mako!
Joey: I’ll fight for you too!
Mako: Yeah!
Mako: I lost today…
Mako: But next time I’ll win, Joey Wheeler! And against you, too, PLAYER!
Joey: Yeah! Next time, I’ll be stronger!
Joey: Alright, now you have all the puzzle cards!
Joey: Next is the finals, PLAYER!
Joey: Time to get excited!
(You guys go to the finals.)
Joey: It’s finally the final tournament, PLAYER.
Joey: Let’s go!
Mai: Don’t get too down in the dumps if you start to feel lightheaded during the tournament!
Joey: What the— Mai, I can’t lose!
Yugi: Jonouchi-kun…
Joey: Yugi…
Joey: I haven’t forgotten my promise to duel you in this tournament.
Yugi: Mhm!
Atem: Yeah!
Joey: Oi! When are the other participants showing up?!
Seto: Quit your yapping. The weaker the loser, the louder the bark.
Joey: Why you… Who ya callin’ loser?!
Joey: I’ve made it this far!
Seto: Hmph.
Seto: To be so proud for barely making it to the end… Of course the dueling dog would be excited to be a bonehead.
Joey: Eh… Bonehea—?!
Yami Bakura: H-Hahahaha…
YamiB: The game is about to begin!
Yugi: Bakura-kun!?
Joey: Why is he—!?
YamiB: (Pretending to be Ryou) Well, I wanted to duel everyone using my Occult Deck!
Ryou: And before I knew it… I had won enough to qualify!
Ryou: My Occult Deck is pretty strong, isn’t it?
Yugi: (For a moment, it seemed like he was being manipulated by the Millennium Ring… But maybe I’m just imagining things.)
Marik: …
Joey: Woah! Have you always been a participant!?
Ryou: Oh, Namu!
Joey: You’re acquainted?
Ryou: Yeah, I made friends on the way here.
Marik: Nice to meet you… I’m Namu! It’s a pleasure!
Joey: And then…
Rishid: …
Seto: Are you Marik?
Rishid: Indeed…
Rishid: Slifer’s owner… Yugi!
Rishid: And the owner of Obelisk, Seto Kaiba… I’ll be sure to defeat you, and obtain your God Cards!
Marik: Kuku…
Ishizu: …
Seto: Alright… Then, the opponent will be decided by lottery!
Joey: Who are our opponents, PLAYER?
Seto: …
Seto: Wheeler and Marik Ishtar!
Joey: Marik!?
Rishid: …
Joey: Marik… The mastermind who was behind brainwashing and manipulating that rare hunter group, The Ghouls…
Joey: If it were just you and me, I’d be beating you with my fists!
Tristan: Joey Wheeler, you’re gonna give me an ulcer…
Yugi: I’m excited, Jonouchi-kun!
Joey: Let’s do it, PLAYER!
Joey: Duel!
-
some footnotes:
kaiba actually calls joey “凡骨デュエリストめが,” which translates literally to “bone duelist.” this is a play on the word “ポンコツ,” which means useless, junk, trash, etc. i had to get creative to make his little pun fit.
they brought back yami bakura’s wheezy laugh
some more translated bits from YGO: TFSP. this time, from joey’s route!
*please note some of it has been adjusted to fit the flow of english conversation.
-
Joey: Alright, PLAYER!
Joey: If you win one more time, you’ll have all the puzzle cards, which means you can go to the finals!
Joey: Let’s go find a duelist to play against ASAP!
(You and Joey go to the docks.)
Joey: If you’re looking for a duelist, you’ve come to the right place!
Joey: But… The sea is beautiful, too!
Joey: (blush sprite) It’s huge… I wonder if looking at it for long enough will fill my heart with passion!
Mako: Oh! Do you like the sea too?!
Mako: (blushing sprite) Let’s get along! I also love the sea!
Mako: Wait, you’re—
Joey: You’re—
Mako: Oh! Wheeler!
Joey: It’s been a long time, Tsunami!
Mako: Yeah! It’s been since Duelist Kingdom!
Mako: So, you’re also participating in Battle City?
Joey: That’s right!
Mako: Thing is, I feel like I’ve been in the sea for the first time in a long time. It made me feel better.
Mako: I will say, first, though… There don’t seem to be a lot of prey in this sea.
Joey: Were you diving to catch fish!?
Mako: Well, if you think about it, isn’t the ocean like a city’s crest? It can change!
Joey: Er… You’re the one who’s changing things…
Mako: Wow… Even though you can’t see the fish, you still come to the sea… Joey Wheeler, you must love the ocean!
Joey: That’s not the reason I came to see the sea! We’re here looking for a duelist!
Mako: Then… Have I motivated you?
Joey: Yeah! I challenge you to a duel!
Mako: Gahahaha!
Mako: You can’t beat my sea deck!
Joey: What is this, a damn seafood stand?!
Mako: Ha! Besides, I met a partner who I hit it off quite well with!
Tejima: Yeah! I’ll crush you with my deck!
Joey: With both me and PLAYER, I’ll defeat you!
Mako: Good! Consider me sold on this duel, Joey Wheeler!
Joey: Alright!
Joey: Let’s go, PLAYER!
Mako: Duel!
-
some footnotes:
joey’s route takes place during his arc in battle city.
what joey says about the sea filling his heart with passion is just the gist of he was expressing. it likely translates a bit differently, but i decided that that was the closest i personally was gonna get lol
when mako is referring to the sea as a city’s crest or emblem, he actually calls it a city’s mon.
tejima is not a real yugioh character. this game just kind of makes people as it goes
Yugioh AUs
with @aspectofphoenix Atem, Ryu, Tristan, and Joey watching “Yuri on Ice” and like Kaiba walks into the room and is like “whattttt???!” and they all turn around and they are all sobbing and Yugi returns from the other room with popcorn like "what did i miss? oh hi Kaiba"
Kaiba sits next to Atem and just stares in confusion about the sobbing. Yugi has to rewind the episode to figure out what happened. Then he gets teary eyed after watching it but if anyone calls him out on it, he just blatantly denies it
Tristan and Joey sing along with the theme song and Kaiba calls them nerds for it but Mokuba catches him humming it while working on new tech all the time. Mokuba tells Atem about it so he makes Kaiba a CD with that song plus more and gets him a poster or a keychain.  Kaiba makes a big show of being apathetic about the CD gift but uploads it to the global network so he can listen to it anywhere he also has found every remixed version.
In the middle of a duel Kaibas phone rings and its now his ringtone.
Kaibas favorite character is Yurio obviously. Yugi and Atem like the main couple but they keep switching their minds on which better. Ryus favorite character is the dog and they all have to hold him in the episode where the dog goes to the hospital.
Tristan and Joey make bets on the side character skaters scoring even tho they don’t understand how it works. By halfway thru the season Seto has all scores within a decimal point. After the group watches the episode with the rings, Kaiba goes and buys rings, but doesn't give one to Atem until after the final episode and just gentle puts it into Atems hand and walks away.
Both Atem and Seto learning how to skate because its not like the pharaoh grew up with ice rinks and then Kaiba calling them all slow learners because he took ballet growing up (i mean how else do you explain those legs?!).
Tea's on the other side of the rink doing jumps with everyone in awe.
Joey and Tristan make good friends with the ice until Seto says something insulting and Joey literally practices every second of spare time he has until he can duel while doing ice skating spins. He really marks up the ice tho... good thing he gets a part time job as a zamboni driver. the zamboni probably has a dog on the side of it that joey swears is a wolf.  the dog looks almost exactly like the dog costume he had to wears dsod
Bakura clinging to the wall trying to keep his balance.  Tho he probably has a lot of social media followers and takes lots of selfies with other people skating in the background. Joey is annoyed that Ryu has more than 3x as many followers as he does but only complains about it once and Yugi makes some comment about "people have their strengths" and he lets it go.
Ryu and Marik tho being like “sooo our other selves are huge dicks... wanna get a drink?” Him and Marik drink and binge watch Netflix all night. They order three pizzas. Two of which are for Ryu alone. just watching like notebook and titanic together then just passing out with it still playing in the background
Marik has other partners but like him and Ryu end up being roommates and Marik is like super careful not to upset Ryu.
Marik gets Ryu to try new things go to these unique places.
They have a blind cat who walks into everything but they both swear is perfect. "This is our son, his name is Qamama (Arabic for rubbish) hes is perfect and needs to be protected" cat is so fat because hes spoiled.  The cat is constantly trying to jump on tables and high chairs and it barely gets its legs off the ground.
They also have a large dog too who picks up the cat when its having issues and deposits in in a safe place. the only fully competent member of the household.  the dogs name is Duel Disk (or DD) because for some reason they let Joey name him. Joey even said it as joke, but Ryu took him seriously with it. "Ya know I was just kidding, Bakura" "But I think its perfect Joey! What with all our lives revolving around this card game anyway, I think it fits"
“I feel like they do know, and they are happy we’re happy.” He whispered looking down at him smiling. “This feeling of completeness overfills me with so much happiness, because of you.” He whispered as he looked down at him and the ring Atem was wearing still. Roy had his own still on, as well.
Tumblr media
"I showed it to Aibou, I showed it to some of my coworkers, and they're all happy for us. I'm going to show it to the rest of the group tonight, to Tristan, to Anzu. I can imagine they're going to be just as excited as everyone else."
"Oh, and... haha... Edward is... very happy for us." He sank a little in his Colonel's arms in slight embarrassment. "I had no idea how physically strong he is..."
Of course Atem wasn't going to take it off. He's keep it on everywhere he goes, as a reminder that no matter what his Colonel was always going to be with him.
Whumptober Fic, 25
The Big 5 have repented and Yami Marik is torturing them. I know there are many different views on what the Orichalcos actually does to people. My feeling is that it corrupts them as soon as they accept it and warps them so they’re really not in their right minds and not fully doing things of their own will, even if they think they are, and whether they’re actually playing the Seal or not, it’s poisoning them. To me, that’s what it looks like happened to both Atem and Mai, and Dartz too.
He knelt on the ground, shaking, gripping at the concrete with both hands. It was over, all over, and he had been abandoned again.
It was all that he should have expected, really. No one had ever cared for him, so he had closed himself off to everyone. Humans were inferior to machines anyway. That was what he had believed and told himself for years. He had always been proven right.
It was understandable for him to be rejected now, though, wasn't it? He had tried to leave in Noa's world. Really, he had wanted to be with the others, for them to all get out, but when an opportunity to leave had opened up, he had been weak and had tried to take it. When they had all returned to their bodies in the real world, he had not been forgiven for his weakness.
Whenever he had bitterly rejected humanity in favor of machines, he had included himself among the pathetic people. He was, perhaps, the weakest of all.
Especially since he was devastated by this rejection and couldn't move on from it.
Footsteps came to a stop in front of him and he looked up with a start. A man with long turquoise hair and a purple business suit was standing over him. "Robert Nesbitt?"
He jumped to his feet. "What do you want?" He recognized the man, a mysterious businessman who turned up at some of the business dinners he had been forced to attend as a member of KaibaCorp's board of directors. He certainly didn't want to show such weakness of spirit to a near-stranger like that.
"I want to offer you a chance to do what you have always wanted—surrender your weak side for good." The man held out a hand to him. "I can give you the power to do that."
"Yeah?" Nesbitt gave him a wary look. "And how do you think you can? It's not like people will ever change, including me. There's no way to rout out the weak part of them." He clenched a fist. "We'll always just go on doing the worst possible things in any given situation."
A faint smile. "Yes, I know. Only the select few chosen by the sacred Orichalcos can overcome this fallacy."
"The what?" Nesbitt stared at him.
"The Orichalcos. It's a holy stone that descended from the skies long ago and began to test humanity. It discovered that most of them were evil."
"Yeah, well, it sure wouldn't find anything different about me," Nesbitt grunted. "I'd fail its test."
"Perhaps not." The man studied him. "I've been observing you and your friends. Out of all of them, it is you, I believe, who has the most promise."
"They're not my friends." Nesbitt narrowed his eyes. "And why are you so anxious to recruit me anyway? If I accepted this . . . Orichalcos, what would you get out of it? I know you wouldn't be offering it to me with no strings attached."
"You would help me remake the world as it once was," he was told. "I am seeking to bring back Paradise."
"Every person has a different idea of Paradise," Nesbitt pointed out. He folded his arms. "Mine is probably nothing like yours."
"On at least one matter, we are the same," the man said. "We don't want weaklings around." He looked deeply into Nesbitt's eyes, his gaze all at once piercing straight through to the tortured soul. "If you surrender your weak side, you could be one of my strongest warriors."
Nesbitt wavered. ". . . I think you're insane."
"And yet you want with all your heart for me to be telling the truth."
Finally Nesbitt nodded. "Yes. I . . . I betrayed the only people who ever may have cared about me. They hate me now. I can't blame them. There is no excuse for what I have done."
"Then try my power and see if I am telling the truth. If I am insane, you have lost nothing. No one will know. But if I am correct, you will be able to give yourself over to the Orichalcos and be remade into the strong man you have always wanted to be."
Nesbitt hesitated again. ". . . You say you have power. Is this some kind of magic?"
"It's divinity."
Not that that sounded much less bizarre to the agnostic man. In his normal frame of mind, he likely would have scoffed and refused. But he had been caught at the end of his rope, in the pit of devastation. He was actually, unbelievably, ready to listen.
"Give me your power," he said at last. "I don't want to be what I am. I want to be strong."
A calm, knowing smile. "And so you shall." The man reached out, touching Nesbitt's forehead.
The electricity that shot into him all at once was like nothing he had ever felt. It swept over him, through him, coursing through his veins. And as the symbol of the Orichalcos appeared on his forehead, his eyes hardened. He had given up his weak side. Now he would indeed be strong.
Lector started back to full consciousness as Nesbitt began to move in his grasp. The younger man pushed Lector aside and got to his feet without a word. As Lector stared up at him in shock, he looked back with a visage so cold and heartless that Lector was thoroughly chilled.
"Nesbitt?!" Lector stumbled up, still wobbly from the effects of the cold. "What is it? What's wrong?"
Nesbitt wordlessly activated his Duel Disk and placed his deck in the card holder. "I've given up my weak side," he announced. "Now I will have the strength I always wanted and deserved." His eyes glowed red, and what looked like the Orichalcos symbol appeared on his forehead. His citrine ring now looked instead to be a turquoise shade.
Lector could only stare in disbelief. "What is this?!" he cried. "Is this another illusion of Yami Marik's?! The Orichalcos is gone! And even if it wasn't, you would never accept it, Nesbitt! I know you wouldn't!"
"You know nothing." Nesbitt's voice was as cold and hard as his eyes had become. "I was never part of your group. You never wanted me there and I never wanted to be there. At least not at first. Maybe after a while the weak part of me wanted to be a part of your world, but he was so weak he wavered once the chance to betray all of you came up. That part of me is dead now. I'll never make those mistakes again."
"Nesbitt . . ." Lector's heart was pierced with every word his friend was saying. He couldn't say whether he was trapped in an illusion or if Nesbitt was, but either way, this was horrible. And not knowing what was real and what wasn't, Lector could only assume that the only thing to do was to behave as though this was really happening.
"We're going to duel now," Nesbitt continued. "I'm going to lock your hypocritical, self-righteous soul away, where it belongs."
Lector's eyes narrowed. "Very well." He activated his own Duel Disk and deck. "But I am going to save you and bring you back to yourself, Nesbitt. You would never act like this in your right mind!"
"My right mind is what I'm in now," Nesbitt said. "My wrong mind was any time I gave into human emotions or feelings. Humans are evil. Only machines are pure and good and deserve to populate the world." He drew his first hand and placed three cards on the field.
"Oh really? The problem with that idea is that someone has to create the machines," Lector said. "If an ‘evil' human created them and every command they follow, how can they really be pure and good?"
"Don't try to confuse me with your double-talk!" Nesbitt snapped. "That won't work now that I've accepted my true self and calling."
Something in Lector snapped too. "Nesbitt, why are you acting like this?!" he burst out. "You were fine before you fell asleep! Your true self is the warm, loving person you were then! I don't know who you are now!"
"The Nesbitt you knew is gone," Nesbitt retorted. "I have no soul. Draw your cards!"
His hand shaking, Lector took his cards and laid a monster in Defense mode. "You do have a soul, Nesbitt," he insisted. "Maybe once I wouldn't have believed that, but I discovered that your soul is one of the purest and kindest I've ever seen! You used to be afraid of it and try to hide it and deny it, but there is no denying it anymore! I will fight for my friend's soul and not give up until you've got it back!"
"I'm not going to be taken in by you again!" Nesbitt cried. The Orichalcos burned brighter and he grimaced, reaching up to place a shaking hand over the symbol.
"Nesbitt, what's wrong with you?!" Lector screamed. "What made you do this?"
"I betrayed you! All of you!" Nesbitt clenched a shaking fist. "I was weak. That part of me was like a cancer festering inside me, so I tore it out! I'll never be that weak person again."
A cold chill spread through Lector's veins. What had Yami Marik done to Nesbitt while he had slept? Had he cast some kind of illusion preying on whatever lingering guilt and self-hatred Nesbitt still bore because of the past? Had he made Nesbitt believe he had the Orichalcos? Or worse . . . since the symbol really was there . . . did Nesbitt actually have it?
It was tempting to scream at Nesbitt some more. Lector's emotions were running high and practically tipping off the scales. When he was pushed to his breaking point, it was very difficult for him to reign himself in. Still, somehow he knew he had to. Nesbitt would not respond well to the screaming.
He drew a shaking breath. "Nesbitt . . . emotions are good as well as bad. It would be wonderful to be able to tear out the worst parts of us, but it's impossible to just do that. You'll get the best parts as well. You are my cherished friend, but right now you're a stranger. I have to find the way to bring back your true and good self."
"Then duel me," Nesbitt said coldly.
"If that's what it takes," Lector said. It wouldn't really be an Orichalcos duel . . . would it? Could it? On this horrible night, anything seemed possible.
The duel didn't manage to go on for very long. Lector could barely hold himself together after everything else that had happened tonight and he was not playing at his best. Nesbitt thankfully hadn't drawn the Seal of Orichalcos, but he was definitely poised to win. Nothing Lector said or did got through to him in the least. Finally it was Lector who had to concede defeat, and he sank to his knees as the despair weighed down on him like the Earth on Atlas's shoulders. "Oh Nesbitt . . ." he whispered.
All of the arguments and speeches Lector had tried had failed. But those two plaintive words suddenly pierced through the darkness covering Nesbitt's mind and he gasped in utter horror. "L-Lector?!" In his horrible delusion, they were indeed trapped inside the Seal, and with Lector's loss of will and the inability to go on, it was closing in on him. "NO!" Nesbitt lunged, wrapping his arms around Lector's waist and pushing with all his might on the make-believe Seal as they fell against it. Somehow they tore through it and tumbled to the grass, free of its treacherous pull. But there was a price; the cold stone of a nearby marker connected with Nesbitt's head. He fell limply back to the ground.
Lector lay stunned but not physically hurt. "Nesbitt?!" He looked over at his friend.
Nesbitt was staring upward, the tears running from his eyes. He didn't even try to hide them—not that he could have.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I'm so sorry. I . . . don't know what happened. I . . . there's no forgiveness for what I just did. . . ."
Lector sat up, gathering Nesbitt's upper body into his arms. "It's not your fault, Nesbitt," he said shakily. "It's that demon. He's doing all of this to us!"
Nesbitt sobbed, clutching Lector to him as his consciousness failed him. His grip loosened.
Lector stiffened. "Nesbitt?! Nesbitt?!" The feel of the motionless body sagging against his chest chilled him to his soul. Immediately a hand went up, searching Nesbitt's head for injuries. When he felt the cruel bump under the other man's hair, his heart dropped. "Oh Nesbitt, no . . . !" Nesbitt had been lost in a delusion, but he had broke free and saved Lector from some imagined or real danger. And now . . . now . . . would he even recover?
Lector couldn't take any more. Now he was the one weeping as he cradled his treasured friend.
YGOPridecember: Shopping
“Tch.”
“Well done Kaiba.”
“Shut up.”
Both men panting after they finished their virtual duel that resulted in a draw. Kaiba survey the damaged.
His turtleneck shirt is ripped at the shoulders and dirty. What received the worse damage are his pants. There are giant holes in both knees along with minor scratches.
‘Note: make knee pads.’
“Hahaha you’re none the worse Kaiba.” Atem is in a similar state himself. His wild hair is ferocious and a hot mess. Needing a good amount of conditioner. One of Atem’s sleeves on his blue sweater are ripped off, revealing a tan skin arm, and his pants are covered in soot and tears.
“Ugh.” Kaiba made a face. “You look like a disaster.”
“There isn’t much I can do Kaiba.”
“Of course there is. You are getting changed.”
The CEO after a long hot shower (that he unfortunately did not share) discovered he had nothing in his home that could fit the former spirit. Atem is on the petite side; everything dwarfed him.
Kaiba turned up his nose at seeing Atem wearing his little brother’s clothing of all things. “We’re going shopping.”
Atem raised an eyebrow and he ignored him. They picked up their coats and went into the limo. A few phone calls later and the two attempted to go to the local Domino mall in discretion. He will be damned if anyone sees Atem looking at the sorry state he is in.
“Hello Mr. Kaiba sir.” The manager to his local clothing shop didn’t even falter at seeing the two of them, especially with Kaiba wearing his usual white coat and a purple scarf and Atem bundled in so many layers that he looked like a giant cream puff.
“I need to get my boyfriend new clothes.”
“O-Oh! Right away sir.” The tailor (coming out of nowhere) approached Atem and quickly measured the shorter male. The associate then showed Atem various kinds of shirts and pants.
Kaiba leaned against the changing room door and waited. ‘Boring.’ Thankfully compared to the business ladies he entertained in the past the other male spent no time at all. He came out with a purple dress down shirt with matching silver cuff links and pressed slacks. Hair even combed and groomed. A leather belt with studs that is similar to the ones he wore when he shared Yugi’s body.
“I settled on a couple outfits. I’ll pay you later Kaiba.”
“Don’t.” Kaiba pulled out his credit card and paid for everything effortlessly. The two workers bowed and they went out of the shop; the bodyguard taking their bags.
“Wait. I want to ask if I could please go get a couple of things for my friends.”
“Honestly.” Kaiba almost rolled his eyes. “You want to go present shopping now?”
“A perfect time considering that we are here.” Atem looked at him with what Kaiba will call ‘puppy dog eyes.’ “Please Seto.”
‘Damn.’ “Fine.” He turned away before he punched a wall to regain himself.
What should be one or two shops ended up being five or more. Kaiba called several other guards just in case. Mummers and slack jawed passer bys stalked them whenever they went. ‘I will fire whoever didn’t empty this damn mall.’
Atem ended up buying everyone in the loser group something. He offered to pay for it himself but Kaiba wasn’t having any of that. If he has to go shopping with his boyfriend he’s going to treat him.
Now they are at a jewelry store looking at hell knows what. ‘God.’ Kaiba pinched the bridge of his nose. The CEO glances at the rings in the display, mind wandering.
“Seto?”
He raised his head sharply at being called by his first name. “How do I look?” Atem is wearing Egyptian like earrings. Gold outlines what Kaiba identifies as alexandrite gemstones; the light shining making it change from purple and blue tones. “What do you think?”
Kaiba opened and closed his mouth. A total loss for words. Enough time for Atem to pull out another item. “The clerk also offered me this.”
Placed on top of Kaiba’s head is a Blue Eyes White dragon wool hat with a little Blue eyes snout on the top. Covered in white and hues of blue, with two little balls hanging from the sides.
“I already paid for it so you can not take it back.”
“We’re leaving!”
Atem’s laughter could be heard all the way back to the limo.
Note
re corporate-conspireshipping, who did seto fall for first? was he aware of the conspireshipping going on in the background beforehand, or was he the 'first' of the harem (bc we all know ryou's in charge obvs) to appear?
I sort of answer that in this old post, but here’s an extension to the beginning bit. (So to sum up: he falls for Ryou first, but not until well into the RPG. Yes he knew about the the corporate fracturshipping going on beforehand. Ooops, I just realized that fracturshipping and conspireshipping are different ships [like just this moment realized you said conspireshipping instead of fracturshipping], but I already wrote this so, um, have an extra Bakura on the house?)
Card games, Seto wanted card games, but it was more than card games, Seto wanted the passion. He wanted to be challenged, he wanted the drive to push himself further than he’d ever had before and come through that trial of fire in a new transcended state, and one person had ever given him that level of intensity.
 Atem.
 Thus, Seto restored the Puzzle, fought Diva, acquired the Cube, and build a ship that would allow him to penetrate that impenetrable veil between this world and the Other. In that moment he saw him, the Pharaoh, rising up from a golden throne with an amused grin. There, in the land of gods and spirits, Seto had put everything on the line with a challenge to a card game.
 “If I win,” Atem said in a warning voice. “You can never come back. It’s not time for you to be here, Seto.”
 “Oh I don’t plan on returning.” Seto smirked. “Because after I win, you’re coming back with me.”
 Atem sighed as if he expected no less but didn’t have the heart to tell Seto that his desire to bring Atem back was impossible. Atem descended down the steps, a duel disk that matched Seto’s appeared on his arm. He stood in place- as fiery, determined, and set on winning as Seto remembered him.
 “Let’s duel!”
 Hours later … Seto won.
 And Atem came back.
 His idiot cheerleaders rejoiced. They thanked Kaiba, as if he did it for them. They recounted the old times and explained everything Atem had missed since he left, but Seto didn’t care about any of it. He wanted another match. He’d beaten Atem in one world, now he’d beat him again in this one. Their rivalry picked up where it’d left off, only far more fierce, until one night the tension broke when Seto slammed Atem against a wall and smashed their lips together with angry, graceless, force. Atem grabbed Seto by the hair and pulled them closer, breaking the kiss only to add bites to Seto’s throat.
 They wake the next morning sore, and scratched, and exhausted despite the hard sleep. They do it all again after the next card game, and the card game after that. It’s everything Seto ever wants.
 Except all the empty moments in between.
 The Pharaoh has many admirers, and he loves Yugi most. There are many nights without cardgames. Seto buries himself in work as usual, swears he’d glad for the opportunity to get things done, but there are too many long nights, and too much caffeine. Seto also finds himself being dragged to group gatherings, and he hates it. Seto often forsakes Atem altogether in those moments, and goes off to a quiet room to catch up on his emails via his cellphone, or take a powernap on a spare couch. During one such nap during Honda’s birthday party, Seto can hear voices entering the room. He’s a light sleeper, so it wakes him, but he doesn’t want to participate in the conversation, so he keeps his eyes shut in hopes that the speakers will see him and move on.
 “But how can you live with him? After everything he did to you?”
 It was Atem’s voice, so Seto cracks an eye open, wondering what the conversation is about. The next voice is Ryou’s.
 “I keep telling you, I didn’t bring back the Spirit of the Ring- Marik did. I was trying to rescue the Thief King.”
 “I thought they were the same.”
 “They are, and they aren’t, the spell made them two separate people, although they’re still a little connected. It’s complicated.” Ryou exhaled. “The entire thing was complicated, but no one was really happy until we all came together.” Ryou tapped the spot on Atem’s chest where the Puzzle used to sit. “Our own puzzle, all our broken edges fit together.”
 “But they said Bakura still has Shadow Magic.”
 “Quite honestly,” Ryou said in a straight, upfront manner. “I don’t think he’s completely human, not physiologically. He’s more of a chimera.”
 “Then how can you blame Yugi for asking me to talk to you?”
 “I don’t blame Yugi for anything. I know he’s concerned, and I’ve tried to assuage his fears on multiple occasions, and I do appreciate that everyone cares enough to worry about me, but I’m not leaving them. Atem, I love them all.”
 “But, Ryou-”
 “Oh look, Seto’s asleep on the couch.” Ryou walked over to the sofa and pulled the throw off of the back in order to tuck it around Seto’s body. “We shouldn’t wake him. Let’s go back to the party and finish this conversation later.”
 Seto shut his eyes when Ryou approached, so he didn’t see them leave, only hear footsteps. Before he opened his eyes again, he heard Ryou speaking directly to him.
 “Sorry to use you as a scapegoat, Kaiba, but I had that conversation with Yugi a dozen times already, and I just don’t have the energy for it tonight.”
 “You knew I was awake?” Seto opened his eyes.
 “Of course, unlike Atem I pay attention. I’m sorry if we woke you” Ryou dropped to the end of the sofa, leaning back, but keeping enough space so that he didn’t press too closely to Seto’s feet. “It’d be different if I was bruised, or hurt, or if I cried to them about being mistreated, but things like that never happen. They’re all very sweet to me, even Kek.”
 Seto made an acknowledging sound to show that he was listening.
 “You know, we finished our last Monster World campaign last week, and next week we start a new one. You should come play with us.”
 “I prefer Duel Monsters.”
 “Yes, of course, and I normally wouldn’t invite you, but you see, our next campaign is a dragon universe, and I think you’d love it.”
 “… I’m listening.” Seto tried to resist, but couldn’t. Dragons were the one thing that could still distract him from anything, even Atem.
 Ryou shifted to his side so he could look at Seto. His left arm braced against the couch, making white hair spill down his left side.
 “It’s a world where characters form telepathic bonds with a companion dragon. It makes for an interesting battle system because each character has to play as their job class and as their dragon class, and there’s several species of dragons. There’s a species the size of a large house cats, it’s sort of meant for thief classes. The most common species is a type of wyvern the size of a horse used for knights and mages. There’s even huge, shapeshifting dragons that can masquerade as humans- which also means there are half dragon offspring of all the major races as well.”
 “That… does sound interesting,” Seto confessed. It sounded amazing, actually. Part of him felt like he did as an excited orphan hearing about the Blue Eyes White Dragon trading card for the first time.
 “Join our campaign. It’s only once, sometimes twice, a week, so you’ll still have plenty of time for card games.”
 Noise from the party that went on without them echoed through the closed door. Seto glanced at the barrier keeping Ryou and himself isolated from the rest of the group. Seto never really fully belonged in that group, and he supposed Ryou had always been standing on the edge of it as well.
 And dragons!
 That boyish excitement filled Seto. He could be a dragon knight on a white mount. He could bond with three dragons. Even if it wasn’t part of the campaign, he was sure he could figure out a loophole and do it. He could-
 Spend a night doing something that didn’t involve waiting on his royal majesty to grace Seto with his presence, something that wasn’t work or staring at the ceiling.
 “Okay,” Seto heard himself saying. “Next week. Give me your address and I’ll be there.”
David Eriksson – erfrischend anders Der Schwede David Eriksson provoziert, interpretiert, kommentiert. Seine Comedy ist schräg, schrill, bisweilen sogar etwas freakig. Er nimmt sein Publikum mit auf eine Reise. Hält sich und anderen den Spiegel vor. Mit großem Erfolg auf den Bühnen dieser Welt. Seit 22 Jahren tourt er mit seinen Programmen, unterhält auf äußerst unterhaltsame, aber auch ungewöhnliche Weise. Sein Ziel ist immer „den Unterschied zu machen“. Heiße Braut in der Kugel Der Globe of Speed – die Stahlkugel der tollkühnen Motorradfahrer gehört natürlich wieder zum Jubiläums-Programm. Doch bei Punxxx drehen nicht nur Männer ihre rasanten Runden. Die Helldrivers teilen sich den engen Raum mit einer heißen Motorradbraut. Sie lässt sich bestimmt nicht unterkriegen und liefert die weibliche Power für ein ganz besonderes Event. Mad Flying Bikes – Normal ist anders Action – Artistik – Adrenalin: Benzingeruch und Motorensound lassen die Herzen der Fans höherschlagen. Freestyle Motocross verlangt absolute Professionalität. Hoch über den Zuschauern, ganz im Hier und Jetzt zeigen sie ihre außergewöhnliche Begabung im strömenden Regen. Stangentanz im Regen Olha präsentiert perfekte Körperkunst am Chinese Pole und versprüht dabei einen Hauch Sinnlichkeit und prickelnde Erotik. Sie brilliert zu „Purple Rain“ mit technisch hochversierter Akrobatik und nimmt ohne Umwege das Publikum für sich ein. Ein Klassiker neu interpretiert. Rockiger Wirbelwind Rollen, Ringe, Teppiche und E-Gitarre – Romy Meggiolaro wirbelt ihre Requisiten rücklings auf einem Motorrad liegend in atemraubender Geschwindigkeit über Füße und Hände. So schnell, dass die Augen kaum folgen können. Mit einer Sicherheit und Präzision, die jahrelanges Training voraussetzen. Die Antipodenspiele der Italienerin begeistern und verblüffen jedes Publikum. Doch sie begnügt sich nicht mit Bodenhaftung, sondern beweist, dass ihre faszinierende Darbietung auch in der Luft funktioniert. Trapez-Kunstlauf Alex Michael zieht es unter die Kuppeln der renommiertesten Circus-Unternehmen dieser Welt. Der attraktive Brasilianer beeindruckt mit einer originären Trapeznummer in äußerst luftiger Höhe. Ausgangs- und Endpunkt seiner Darbietung sind zwei schwingende Trapeze, die er auf sehr unkonventionelle Weise miteinander verbindet: Kopfunter läuft er über Schlaufen von einer Seite zur anderen. Eine Darbietung, die nicht nur auf dem 16. Internationalen Festival der italienischen Stadt Latina begeisterte. Coperlin - Konfetti als Markenzeichen Jongleur, Magier, Comedian – Dustin Nicolodi entstammt einer bekannten Künstlerfamilie. Und er wollte nie etwas anderes als diese Tradition fortzusetzen. Wuchs er doch praktisch im weltberühmten Pariser Moulin Rouge auf. Die Umgebung prägte ihn und seinen Humor. Er verwandelt sich auf der Bühne vom eher schüchternen Individuum in Coperlin, den Sprücheklopfer und Comedyjongleur, der einer anderen Zeit entspringt. Und dem so manches daneben geht. Zur Freude des Publikums, das seine Missgeschicke mit herzlichem Lachen begrüßt. Taktgeber Romain Vicente setzt mit seinem Schlagzeug wichtige und richtige Impulse. Live-Klänge, die die Flic Flac eigenen Kompositionen punktgenau unterstreichen. Fotos: Flic Flac                         Read the full article
