Treasure hunt, finding things around you
Here's an assignment, only for anyone who feels like doing it. In the month ahead, by the start of February, find as many of these things as you can or choose to. Photos or not photos as you prefer. These aren't to be submitted to me but are just a kind of treasure hunt for you to write down or keep in a notes app. 1. Moss, as many kinds as you can find. 2. Lichen, 3 colors. This is fun because it can be on buildings and things like curbs, grave stones or monuments. 3. 3 or more kinds of birds, extra points for different types like songbirds vs. ducks and geese vs herons or other stalking birds. Yes, pigeons count. 4. 3 kinds of trees you can tell apart, evergreens or ones that are leafless now.
5. One beautiful sunrise or sunset. 6. If you're in a place that gets cold, 2 kinds of ice, like icicles and puddle ice would be 2 kinds for example. If you're not in a cold place then interesting water things like a puddle with oil colors in it or drops of dew on grass or a flower. 7. 3 kinds of weather. This one's easy. Maybe pictures of a sunny or partly cloudy sky and a dark cloudy sky and maybe a picture of trees or flags being blown by wind.
8. Any animals. They're things like Pokemon but in the real world. lol Yes squirrels count. Rats do too. 9. Stand in 3 kinds of places, for example by a stream or river, high on a hill—that can be in a city or in the country. Pittsburgh for example has some great hills. San Francisco too. If you're at Oberlin maybe you can find a pile of dirt haha—and third, maybe a public space like a plaza or a town circle or if you're in the country then just an especially nice spot along a road or trail. 10. Finally, look for any especially nice or beautiful scene around you, whether it's frost on a plant in the sunlight, a beautiful window you pass in the evening (taking pictures of people without permission especially through a window is rude so try to avoid that), ice on a car window or any scene or tiny thing that just catches your eye in a pleasing way. A beautiful tree, a beautiful sky, a cute cat, whatever.
And of course if you find cool or interesting stuff not mentioned here, that's extra credit. :-) If you see something really good you can tell me about it and if you feel like letting me know how it went at the end I would be interested to hear from you. I know some of you already look for this stuff. Take this as a little extra encouragement. Maybe when you post things from this list, use the tag #noticing stuff. Or does someone have a better tag for it?

yard work - chapter 13 (regina george x reader)
fandom: Mean Girls (all media)
pairing: Regina George x OFC/Reader
summary: You'd been in the same class as Regina George since kindergarten. You'd lived on the same street even longer. Once upon a time, when life was sandbox disputes and who got the swing first arguments, you'd even been friends. Now, in junior year of high school, you doubted she even remembered you. The same couldn't be said about you. You definitely remembered her.
warning(s): derogatory slurs! several of them!
chapter 1 / chapter 2 / chapter 3 / chapter 4 / chapter 5 / chapter 6 / chapter 7 / chapter 8 / chapter 9 / chapter 10 / chapter 11 / chapter 12 / chapter 14
Tumblr media
It was Friday. The last day of school, the night of the talent show, and just a few days before Christmas. They'd be passing out the candy cane-grams. There'd be some assembly, probably.
Your leg jittered restlessly while you tried to focus on your bio paper. What kind of sadistic fuck assigned an essay on the last day before break? The biology teacher, apparently. He had a superiority complex, you were sure. Allergic to happiness.
Your mind kept drifting back to the photo album. Surely, Regina had it. You'd put it in her locker on Wednesday, so she'd have found it first thing Thursday morning. You hadn't dared to take a peek in her locker, afraid Gretchen would sniff you out again.
Something had clearly gone down between them. Gretchen didn't sit with them at lunch, instead opting for her boyfriend's clique. She didn't seem to fit in too well and Jason didn't seem too pleased to have her there. Karen and Regina sat by themselves, conversing casually.
Cady had been banished somewhere. You'd heard talk Aaron had dumped her. You knew Janis and Damien weren't talking to her after she turned her back on them. Since the whole Kälteen bar shebang and the subsequent smear campaign Regina had doled out, she hadn't been exactly welcome at any table. From what you understood, Gretchen and Cady were on speaking terms, but Karen and Gretchen weren't, but Cady and Karen were. It was all terribly confusing.
You had a table for yourself. Some of your old friends crowded the ones nearby, quite pointedly not sitting with you. You were no longer cool, it seemed. Easier to focus on your paper, you told yourself. The cafeteria was serving chilli today. The slop was slightly too watery and the meat was a mystery, but it'd do. You'd run out of food at home. You'd wanted a goddamn Christmas dinner and a good slab of ham got pricy. Couldn't rely on Mrs George for a feast this time around.
"Hey," Someone called near you. You looked up, surprised somebody was talking to you. A boy, more specifically a jock judging by the varsity jacket. "You good?"
"What?" Your brows furrowed. "Yeah?"
He smiled smarmily. "Cool."
And he walked away. You kept looking as he went, staring after his back. His buddies were looking your way, the same kinds of grins on their faces. That was odd. Didn't bode well.
It didn't take long for you to find out why. The period following lunch was when Damien would be visiting classrooms as Santa Claus, handing out candy canes.
He walked right up to you with a grin hidden under the fake Santa beard, wiggling his eyebrows all the while.
"The whole bag..." He drawled. "Impressive."
Confused, you peered into the sack. A couple dozen candy canes filled it, apparently all for you. You picked one out, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in your stomach as well as the snickering of the boys in the back rows.
Dyke. The message was just one word. It was clearly assigned to you, your whole name displayed proudly. Your body went numb, hands holding the candy limply. There was no signature to show who they were from. People were staring at you. Damien had lingered awhile to see what'd been written to you. The grin behind his beard had turned into a shocked scowl.
"What... What do they say?" Cady, of all people, the nerve of her, asked. She was seated a few rows from you.
"Alright, Mr Leigh, thanks for-" Ms Norbury tried to intervene.
"Dyke." You read out loud. Then you pulled out another. "Lesbo." And another. "Carpet muncher." The boys had trouble holding in their laughs. Another. "Queer." There were others you didn't deign to read out loud. Freak. Pervert. Degenerate. Homo.
If not for a few people finding all this amusing, it would've been dead silent in the classroom.
"These were supposed to be checked before handing out." Ms Norbury strode up to you and promptly confiscated the candies. Her face was set, expression severe, as she regarded Damien sternly.
"I- that wasn't my job. I don't know how, how they would've..." You watched Damien try to put it together.
"Well, is it really offensive if it's true?" Dylan, if you remembered correctly, piped up. He was a sporty guy, decently popular but nothing special. Now, though, he might as well have been an A-lister with how utterly low you'd plummeted.
Murmurs spread out around you. Damien and Ms Norbury retreated to a corner of the classroom to figure out how in the hell this had happened. People were looking at you. Your skin was crawling. It couldn't be Janis who told. She was in the same boat as you and she didn't have the power to do something like this. To make the committee ignore hateful messages meant some strings had been pulled. The only other person that knew, that could realistically do this, was Regina.
You bit your lip, closed your eyes and took a deep breath. Okay. You got the message. The album had been too much. This was a sign to stay away, to forget all the sentimentalities you'd had.
"Hey, calm down now, we'll figure this out- hey!" You didn't pause to listen to Ms Norbury when you booked it out of the stifling classroom. You couldn't bear to be there any longer.
You hid in the bathroom. Both hands held against your mouth so you wouldn't make a noise, you cried long and hard. Your breathing was choppy and laboured, and in no time at all your nose was blocked off entirely. Your eyes stung and your vision blurred.
The bell rang and pretty soon people came into the bathroom. You refused to get out, pretending to take the longest shit ever. It didn't take very long for the people coming in to discuss what had gone down in one of the junior calc classes.
It spread like wildfire. You were pretty sure the boys had nicked some of the candy canes from Ms Norbury since you could hear people reading the notes out loud, the rustling of the plastic covering.
"Who even is that?"
"Who cares? A total freak is what she is. Oh my gosh, Steph, do you think..."
"What?"
"Do you think she used the girls' bathroom? She's probably spread her diseases all over the seats! We're all gonna have gonorrhoea!"
You wanted to sink into the ground and never see daylight again. By the time the bell rang again, signalling the start of the next period, the rumours had inflated and grown disproportionately in severity.
Apparently, you were riddled with sexually transmitted diseases, preyed on freshmen and sold them hard drugs, behaved creepily in locker rooms, and had had a stint with Cady Heron while she was still with Aaron Samuels. You guessed that last one had to do with the time you'd dragged her into the janitor's closet to yell at her about the Kälteen bars.
In short, you were fucked. Your life was fucked. You'd hoped, so hoped, that even if you wouldn't get everything you wanted, you'd get some. You wouldn't get a high school girlfriend, wouldn't have slumber parties, wouldn't be normal. You wouldn't be Regina's friend. Fine. At least you could've had a quiet life, gone to community college and worked at the shop, had some buddies, and maybe lost your virginity one day. Not even that now. Not even a little bit of that. Your future in this town was just no longer there. You had nothing. You were nothing.
You skulked out of the bathroom once you were sure there'd be nobody in the halls. You got into your car and drove home. Just as you'd slumped down onto the couch, the house phone rang. Groaning, you went to answer. If it was your dad, missing it would mean there'd be hell to pay.
"Hello?" Your voice was croaky. It hurt to talk.
"Hi, sweetie! You don't sound too good." Mrs George's chirp greeted you. "I assume you had to leave school 'cause of that. I just happened to see you drive by. Rick got called to work last minute and Kylie's got tutoring till late. Come keep me company?"
"I'm not feeling too well, I'm sorry..." You said, holding the phone to your ear while your other arm wrapped around your body. You tried to breathe deep and not burst out crying, again. Your eyes felt swollen shut.
"Oh, I'll come by with some soup, then," She sounded so genuinely concerned.
You bit your lip. Tummy rumbling in its emptiness, you decided now would be as good of a time as any to bite the bullet.
"Actually, uh, if it's not too much to ask, and um- I-" You took in a shuddering breath. "You don't have to say yes, it's totally okay and I'm sorry if this is, like, too much-"
"Sweetpea, just ask." She chuckled.
"I don't have any food. Or, like, I have ingredients for Christmas 'cause I wanted to make dinner for myself, but I guess I forgot I have to eat before then too?" You tried to laugh, but the sound was strained. "Um, could you take me to the soup kitchen downtown?"
You could've driven yourself. You could've, in that you were capable of driving yourself, but with how your vision was impaired, how your body ached with loneliness, and how you weren't sure you wouldn't just impulsively drive into oncoming traffic, you doubted you would've survived the trip.
"No." She said bluntly. You flinched, feeling the refusal like a knife to the gut. "No, absolutely not. We are going grocery shopping and getting you food to last the rest of the damn year. I'm picking you up."
"Mrs George, I don't have money-"
"You shouldn't be spending your hard-earned money like that. Doesn't your dad send you enough to cover utilities?"
"He sends me grocery money. I gotta pay for gas and stuff on my own."
Mrs George's resounding silence spoke volumes of her opinion on that. "I'm coming to get you. I'm buying you groceries and then we're gonna meal prep. Okay?"
"Okay."
When Mrs George saw you, her determined attitude shifted to that of maternal worry. You fought hard not to break down, though all you really wanted to do was curl into her and cry your little heart out.
She drove you to Whole Foods, a place way out of your budget. But she insisted, so there was little you could do. She took you from aisle to aisle, prattling on and on, chatting about this and that. You listened mostly silently, humming here and there.
She picked out a lot of canned stuff, like beans and tomato purée. All that stuff was made to last forever, so you wouldn't always have to buy fresh ingredients. She bought all your favourite snacks, which she somehow remembered. When you commented on that, she just pointed at her temple with a knowing grin. Mothers never forget, she'd said.
Once you were all done, the cart was quite literally overflowing. The total nearly made your stomach drop out of your ass. Mrs Geoge simply flashed her black card and, without even a wince, paid the price. The receipt was, like, three feet long.
Carrying it all to her car was a daunting task, but a worker did come to help you. A young man, probably home from college, was all too eager to carry the bags for Mrs George.
The way he was blushing all the way up to his ears, the way she was amused by him but not receptive, made you think about what Regina had said months ago. You'd been on your way to her nail appointment and she'd gone on a tangent about how women died at menopause.
Mrs George was thriving. She was above it all. Her worth, or mortality, wasn't determined by the men around her. She'd been cheated on, continuously neglected by her husband, and put down by her teenage daughter, and still, she was beautiful. She existed independently.
In short, you were right and Regina was wrong. You saw things how they really were. She saw things tilted to the left, through a warped lens. The confirming of this brought you no comfort, she'd already ruined you and there was no redeeming herself after this, at least not for you.
"Phew, what a trip, right?" She nudged you with her elbow as she buckled her seatbelt.
You nodded along, voice still weak. You buckled in as well.
"I'll pick you up for the talent show." She said as she turned away from the parking lot. "Oooh, we should have a night in. Order some pizzas and slob around the couch. How's that sound?"
"I don't think I should go to the talent show."
"Oh, why's that?"
"Just... Something happened at school. I don't wanna go."
Mrs George frowned and glanced at you. "Honey, you know you can tell me anything. I still think you should come."
"Everybody hates me." You faced the window and crossed your arms. Very mature.
"I'm sure that's not true." She sighed. "I'm not supposed to tell you, but Regina's got something prepared for you. I think you should go see her at least."
Your face twisted in anger. "Something prepared for me- like she prepared something for me today? I don't fucking think so."
"Language." She said and you grumbled. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing. It's nothing." You rubbed your hands down your jeans. "It's not gonna be good. She's gonna humiliate me."
"It's supposed to be a surprise, but I can guarantee that she's not going to humiliate you."
"What do you know?" You turned to her with narrowed eyes.
"I've been hearing her practice, is all." She responded, tone much too light.
You studied her face carefully. "Fine."
She smiled, seemingly relieved. Then, as if to cut the tension in the car, said:
"Oh, and by the way, I'm filing for divorce." With a giddy smile on her face, she blurted it out. You just stared for a while, almost suffering whiplash from the sudden change in topic.
"Uh... Finally." You laughed a little as you said that.
"Yeah!" She laughed with you. "It's been a long time coming. I just needed to sort some things out. Emotionally and financially. I had to get rid of some investments so I wouldn't have to pay alimony."
Your jaw dropped. The Georges were, like, filthy rich. Rich beyond reason, excess income to a ridiculous degree. You'd always assumed it was Mr George's money. How archaic of you.
"I... I kinda wished you'd done it sooner." You looked forward again. She was driving carefully since the snow made the roads prone to ice.
"Me too. The girls... They... I thought that having two parents would be the most stable, safe environment for them. I was wrong."
"Yeah." You swallowed. "Um. Since we're, like, just saying things. I'm, by the way, gay. Like, a lesbian."
"That's wonderful, honey!"
"Yeah." You couldn't say you agreed.
"Should we go get you a haircut?"
"I don't need to look any more butch than I do."
"I don't know, I think you'd look dashing." She feigned light-hearted. "Regina might like it."
"Mrs George!"
Notes: More drama! Yay! Do y'all think Regina did it?

Do you guys have any fake dating bkdk with a nsfw and angst
BakuDeku: Fake Dating ( angst & nsfw ) 28 Works.
Tumblr media
Vicious by feelslikefire ( E | BKDK | 105,173 | 13/13 )
Midoriya and Bakugou wind up in the very last position either of them thought they'd be in: Hero Partners. It's not fun, but they learn to cope. Their first big assignment together takes them undercover to infiltrate a cult, but the situation turns out far more sinister than they first thought.
(Or: Midoriya and Bakugou pretend to be Fake Married, join a cult, start having sex, and learn not to suck as partners, not necessarily in that order.)
Tumblr media
What I can never tell you by Mikacrispy ( E | BKDKBK | 27,067 | 6/6 )
‘Bakugou suffered an accident. You need to come back. Now.’
After living in the US for 5 years, Izuku returns to take care of a concussed Bakugou who believes they're engaged. Now, Izuku has to pretend he's in a relationship with the man he's loved for most of his life, knowing that it's just a matter of time until Katsuki gets better and realizes it's all a lie.
Tumblr media
Courting for the Camera by imnotpoppunk ( E | DKBK | 111,654 | 29/29 )
"Courting," she says, simply, beginning her pitch. Izuku's eyes go impossibly wide, already not liking the direction this is headed in. "One of the things that people love to see in other public figures is when they begin to court their prospective mates. So, I've devised a plan to stage courting rituals with you and a potential mate, all of which will be either posted to your social media or accidentally captured by paparazzi."  NightMight Pro Hero Agency is dealing with backlash from the public over their top hero, Deku, being an unmated alpha, and their concern is only growing as the Hero Ranking Polls draw nearer.
Similarly, Fat Gum Hero Agency is struggling to find a compatible alpha to calm their explosive omega, Ground Zero.
And so, the two agencies strike up a deal: plan a fake courting between the two heroes and everyone ends up happy. Right?
Maybe.

Someone Borrowed by mynameis152 ( E | BKDK | 138,996 | 38/38 )
It felt like hours that he stared at Izuku, coming to terms with the fact that a man, his childhood best friend, whom he hadn’t seen since their senior year of high school, was there in front of his very eyes. Then his brows furrowed and his jaw clenched before he uttered through gritted teeth the very name Izuku had longed to hear for years.
“Deku.”
Tumblr media
Spyderwebs by surveycorpsjean ( E | BKDK | 69,069 | 8/8 )
Katsuki and Izuku are tasked with an undercover mission as a couple aboard a luxury cruise ship. The problem is, they haven't seen each other in years.
Tumblr media
lover's compass by sapphicflower ( E | BKDK | 55,177 | 5/5 )
Katsuki and Izuku are rival spies from separate agencies, and generally try to stay clear of each other's missions if it can be helped.
However, when their missions seem to diverge into one, they must collaborate for the first time since their falling out from several years ago. Forced to pose as a lovesick couple who are checking in to a romantic getaway island, Katsuki and Izuku have no choice but to set aside their personal differences for the sake of keeping up appearances and not getting caught by other enemy spies.
To say that Katsuki is not fucking happy about this arrangement is the understatement of the century.
Tumblr media
Read {between} Your Lines by greatcloudninja ( E | DKBKDK | 54,252 | 18/18 )
Midoriya Izuku, up-and-coming actor, has finally hit his big break: he's been cast as one of the leads in a film based on the first book of a best-selling novel series. Even better, his co-star is none other than his idol, Bakugou Katsuki, who has been acting for over twenty years.
However, Bakugou seems to have it out for Izuku, leading to tension both on and off set. When some incriminating photos surface, the studio suggests an extreme form of damage control: having Bakugou and Midoriya fake a relationship to get ahead of the rumors. But not all of Midoriya's fans are accepting of the relationship...
Can the two of them get through filming without killing each other first, or will hate turn to passion along the way?
Tumblr media
to have and to hold by maquina ( E | BKDK | 43,019 | 10/10 )
Teased for being permanently single, Katsuki bets he'll have a plus one by the day of Kirishima and Mina's wedding. As the event rapidly approaches, he instead reaches out to his former childhood best friend, Izuku, and invites him to be his fake boyfriend.
What could go wrong?
Tumblr media
The Boyfriend Theorem by imnotpoppunk ( E | DKBK | 80,930 | 23/23 )
Katsuki is the first omega to ever play for the UA University men's hockey team. He's just not sure how much more he can take before he cracks under the pressure of it all.
Izuku is an alpha grad student working on his PhD in philosophy. He's also working on keeping himself convinced that it's his one true passion in life.
A tutoring session leads to a white lie to save face and after that things get more complicated than either of them had intended.
Tumblr media
Pretty Boy by Hopeless Creations ( E | BKDKBK | 422,116 | 65/65 )
Katsuki Bakugo is the arrogant heir to a multi-billion dollar company. Mitsuki Bakugo is, quite frankly, done with his shit, and threatens to disown him if he doesn't start bringing a partner to events to show he's taking his future seriously. Izuku Midoriya is an escort.
What could possibly go wrong?
The Pretty Woman BakuDeku AU you didn't realize you needed in your life, with a twist!
OR;
“The fuck did you just call me?”
Izuku stared him down, green eyes glinting and refusing to show sign of weakness. Thank god his shaking hands were hidden in the darkness of the vehicle. “Well, since you seem to have a nickname for me, I figured I should have something fitting for you, too, right? Mine means useless, I presume, and yours is…” He looked Katsuki up and down, pursing his lips, before his face again broke out into a smile, seasoned with just the right amount of patronizing. “Cute.”

Break my heart by SapphicPandaBear ( E | BKDKBK | 70,376 | 29/29 )
"You mentioned practice," says Izuku. "What were you thinking?"
"Depends on boundaries."
Izuku covers his flustered emotions with a laugh. "We could always start with road head."
Silence.
Damn. Maybe he went too far. "Sorry, Kacchan, I—"
"Too dangerous," says Katsuki, his voice low and rough. "Handjob would be easier."
Izuku's heart stutters in his chest.
---
Or, a grievous misunderstanding drove a wedge of silence between Katsuki and Izuku for 7 years. Now a dangerous honeypot mission has them undercover, investigating a politician suspected of violent hate crimes and a suspect BDSM club, all while navigating each other's volatile emotions under forced proximity.

Izuku and Katsuki's Guide to Fake Dating by TheFifthCharmedOne ( E | BKDK | 16,783 | 10/10 )
Mitsuki has been repeatedly asking (read: harassing) her son about settling down with someone despite his apparent lack of interest in doing so. After a long day of hero work, the last thing Katsuki feels like doing is talking about this crap with his mom. So, he tells her he's dating Deku just to shut her up. And it all rolls downhill from there.
Tumblr media
how he should've known (and how it turned out) by vannral ( E | BKDK | 43,918 | 13/13 )
Izuku should’ve listened and known and watched out for this so he wouldn’t be here, in this position. But he is, and everything is awful.
In which Katsuki and Izuku pretend to be a couple to avoid journalists, the plan backfires magnificently because of course it does, and the act goes on. Includes feelings, pining, domestic fluff and jealousy.
Tumblr media
Not-Dating by MiraChaDoodles ( E | BKDK | 14,290 | 1/1 )
“On a...date…” Izuku repeated the word as though it made no sense. As though the four letters that formed “date” simply didn’t mesh together to create meaning in his mind. They truly didn’t seem to. D-A-T-E. Katsuki couldn’t be saying that word to him...right?
---
Or, Katsuki takes Deku on a not-date to save his career, only to find himself wishing it were real.
Tumblr media
Whiplash by Flarewrites ( E | BKDK | 29,061 | 5/5 )
Shouto: Let me get this straight. Shouto: You’re in love with your fiancé, who is also not your fiancé because he proposed on purely platonic terms but now you’ve caught feelings and you don’t know what to do. Izuku: YES! No? I don't know.
OR the one in which Izuku and Katsuki are both disaster gays and Shouto wants to bang both their heads together.

A Kiss as a Lie by Fawn_Eyed_Girl ( E | BKDK | 39,522 | 7/7 )
Izuku might be the Number Five hero in the country, but the adorable young man is not immune to the thirst of social media. When his boss is finally tired of having one of his top heroes sexualized and picked apart, body part by cute body part, he comes up with a suggestion he thinks will fix everything:
Izuku needs a fake girlfriend, at least through the big Hero Gala, which is two weeks away.
Except that Izuku is not interested in girls.
Luckily, there’s another hero at the agency who offers to be Izuku’s fake boyfriend.
Unluckily?
It just so happens to be Izuku’s crush from the time he was…well, forever, if he’s being honest.
How will he survive the next two weeks as Kacchan’s “boyfriend”?

What a damn hero by SaysiWrites ( E | BKDK | 5,904 | 1/1 )
When Izuku comes across an account full of photos captioned "send this to guys who won't leave you alone" it seems like the perfect way to get clingy suitors off his back. What he doesn't expect is a spiral of stupid actions that leads him to asking the man to play along.
Nor does he expect to find out the buff angry dude is a pro hero.

love is a labour (i'll slave til the end) by nikkiRA ( E | DKBK | 3,830 | 1/1 )
"You know," Kacchan says, although Izuku clearly doesn't. "Just scent me, and act like we're together. It doesn't have to be a big deal."
But it is a big deal. It's a very big deal, because Izuku is madly in love with him, and it's hard enough hiding that on a regular basis. And now Kacchan wants him to pretend to date him? To be mates? How was Izuku supposed to do that?
But how was he supposed to say no?
Tumblr media
Blurry by spicymacaron ( E | BKDK | 4,614 | 1/1 )
When his mom tries to set him up on a date, Izuku panics and tells her that he’s dating Katsuki. Surprisingly, Katsuki agrees to be his fake boyfriend for a week until they can publicly break up. The problem is, Katsuki’s starting to take his role seriously and Izuku’s finding it harder to pretend.
Tumblr media
Not So Fake After All by kyramidoriya ( E | DKBK | 12,275 | 5/5 )
Izuku and Katsuki have always been a bit too competitive. It gets them into trouble this time when they bet who can keep a fake relationship going the longest. The worst part? They have to do it while keeping their genuine feelings a secret from each other.
Who's going to win the bet? And can they keep their love hidden?
Tumblr media
[Abandoned] bring me the head of a love song (bring me the head of a lie) by saekimchi ( E | BKDK | 32,813+ | 6/?)
“We aren’t dating,” Izuku blurts out, only just managing to keep from spilling to the head of his Hero Office just how thirsty he is for big, mean, and blasty. Katsuki makes a disgruntled noise that Izuku is too preoccupied to parse out the exact meaning of, but there might be something close to agreement in there so he’ll take what he can get. “We aren’t dating, so--”
“I don’t know,” says Ryo smoothly, flipping the newspaper around so he can inspect the photograph more closely. “Usually when your tongue is that far down another person’s throat, it’s a good indicator that something special is going on.”

He happens to run into Midoriya, so he asks the shorter man to accompany him as his fake date for the occasion. Bakugou figures it'll be good for both of them―he hasn't been on a pleasant date in years, and Midoriya needs to move on from his recent breakup.
It winds up being as fun as it is complicated. That's just Bakugou's luck.

You and Me and a Baby Makes...Me by Fawn_Eyed_Girl ( E | BKDKBK | 106,361+ | 26/? )
Bakugō Katsuki wants to break into the Top 10 heroes in Japan more than anything. He’s put in the work; he’s strong and capable. The only problem is his…”attitude,” which makes him the Hero People Love to Hate.
On the other hand, Midoriya Izuku is the number 2 hero, and beloved by everyone...except Katsuki. Once childhood friends, and now bitter rivals, and reluctant business partners, Katsuki just can’t deal with Izuku’s success.
Then one day, a daring rescue leads Endeavor and All Might to concoct a plan that just might be the perfect makeover for Katsuki. It’s an idea that Katsuki hates, and Izuku loves.
An idea that Katsuki fights against with his entire being, especially when he starts to fall in love with it—and with Izuku—too.

[Abandoned] Reluctantly Yours by Hazel_Halfpint ( E | BKDK | 25,026+ | 4/? )
If you asked Midoriya Izuku about himself, he'd tell you he's average. He loves his mom and siblings, and works hard to reach his goal to be a quirk-related counselor. Unfortunately, part of that working hard, includes interning with his (attractive) hot-headed, crass, and annoying boss at Endeavor Agency. Bakugou Katsuki; Japans Number 2 Pro-Hero and sought-after Alpha bachelor. Izuku does his best to keep to himself, doing what's requested of him, and going home.
Until he finds himself in a meeting with Endeavor, Bakugou and the Hero Commissioner. In rapid succession three things occurred, 1. Endeavor mentioned Bakugou settling down. 2.Bakugou looks like he wants to explode, until he notices Midoriya. (That look never means anything good.) 3. The blond alpha says six unthinkable words, "Izuku and I are getting married.”

(No Yan Sim AU) Questions for OCs! + Quartz and other characters' lore
You don't have to do these if you don't want to! You can write and answer how ever you want (3rd person or as the OC)
These answers are just examples and they also give lore to other TWST characters in the AU
1. Does your OC have parents or family in the AU? If not, what is their current living situation?
Riddle currently lives with his mother. Because of her influence, he is the strictest in the student council (which consists of the dormleaders.)
2. What are their thoughts on Quartz?
[You can yap about it here since I already used Quartz as an example in the fourth question]
3. What is their thoughts and relationship with Azul? How did they meet Azul?
Jade is Azul's right hand man. He assists Azul with a lot of student council work and is mostly by his side with Floyd. They are friends from their middle school days and up to their highschool days (although the three of them won't admit it).
Jade found Azul's hardwork and scheming nature very exciting so he and his brother always stayed by Azul's side to see what fun events would happen.
4. What are their relationships with other characters/OCs?
[They are speaking about Quartz as example]
Floyd: "Who again?"
Floyd doesn't really acknowledge Quartz since she's so quick out of his sights. Genuinely believes there isn't a person named that but is suspicious.
Jade: "Oh, that shy girl? She's a little funny."
Definitely suspicious of Quartz but they don't interact much so he has no other information about her. He probably needs to be more skillful when studying her.
Riddle: "Quartz?.. Uh.. I-I don't recall who that is."
Quartz rarely interacts with Riddle.
Ace: "Ah? You mean that girl who's always so weird? I've seen her watch Azul. Pffftt! Do you think she likes him?"
He notices her sometimes because he thinks her appearance is a little flashy.
Idia: "I-Isn't she one of Azul's admirers?... She's the shy type right? She's a little strange though.. Sometimes she takes photos of me! W-Wait.. Maybe she's into me instead?! EEEKK!! H-HOW SCARY!!"
Completely misunderstands Quartz's actions but he's quick to know how weird her actions are. He stays away from her if Azul isn't present.
5. What grade/year is your OC?
Azul, Jade, and Floyd are all 2nd years (17).
Leona has been held back so he is still 20.
6. What is your OCs goal for the school year or in life?
Quartz wishes to kill Azul 🙏
7. Your OC is being framed for murder of another student by Quartz, how does your OC react to that? Does your OC know it's Quartz?
Floyd is jumping her.
8. Your OC notices Quartz carrying a weapon in her skirt pocket. That's strange since the female school uniforms don't have skirt pockets. Does your OC report this?
Riddle is absolutely reporting that! He's calling the cops and everything 🫡🫡🫡
9. Where is your OC usually with or at during school? Classes? With Azul? Skipping class? Where do they eat lunch?
Quartz is always in class but she'll come right before the bell rings since she was.. busy. She doesn't have a particular place she goes to all the time. She's never in one spot.
Quartz's lunch spot varies because she's always spying but her usual spot is in the courtyard.
Riddle is assigned being a hall monitor so he usually watches the halls when he is able to. He usually eats lunch with Trey and Cater.
Leona is always found napping under trees and skipping his classes. Ruggie manages to find him and give him his lunch from the cafeteria.
Rook is watching you.
10. How are your OC's grades?
Deuce tries, ok. (Awful)

Spicy Curry (Bakugou Katsuki x F!Reader) Chapter 8
Summary: Pro-hero DynaMight hides his developing hearing loss from the public. He doesn’t want them or the villains to know about what he considers his only weakness. His family knows. His best friends know. And now you, the owner of his favorite little curry shop, know. You want to live a quiet life & to protect your son. The last thing you want is to draw attention to yourself. The burn in Katsuki's muscles felt good as he lowered the weights back onto the rack with a satisfying clank. Sweat beaded along his brow, trickling down his temples as he grabbed his towel from the nearby bench. The gym was busy with the usual morning crowd—fitness enthusiasts and fellow heroes getting their workouts in before the day truly began—but the familiar cotton-wool silence that accompanied his world without his hearing aids created a peaceful bubble around him.
Two weeks ago, this silence would have felt unbearable. Now, there was something almost meditative about it.
The days had settled into an easy rhythm—morning workouts to stay sharp, afternoons at the curry shop where lunch flowed into training with Kouichi, and evenings filled with homework, quiet conversation, and the hush of your little apartment after Kouichi went to bed. It had all fallen into place so effortlessly, like water winding its way home. The routine had formed so naturally he hadn't noticed it solidifying until it was already established, like water finding its path of least resistance.
As he wiped sweat from his face, Katsuki caught his reflection in the mirror. The person staring back at him looked different somehow—still fierce and determined, but the permanent tension around his eyes had softened. He'd been sleeping better, the constant anxiety about his career taking a backseat to more immediate concerns: helping Kouichi master control over his quirk, deciphering kindergarten schoolwork assignments, learning new signs to expand his vocabulary with you both.
He checked the time on his watch—still an hour before he'd need to head to the shop for lunch. His stomach growled at the thought of what might be waiting. You'd been experimenting with a new spice blend that actually delivered the level of heat he demanded, not the watered-down version most places tried to pass off as "extra spicy."
In the locker room, Katsuki peeled off his sweat-soaked tank top and reached for his phone to check messages before showering. The screen lit up with an unusual flurry of notifications—missed calls from his agency, his publicist, even his mother, along with dozens of text messages and news alerts. His morning's peace vanished as he stared at the screen.
Frowning, he thumbed through the transcribed voicemails first, scanning his agency's messages: "Bakugou, urgent PR situation. Call back immediately." Similar messages from his publicist followed, each more frantic than the last. His mother had called twice, unusual enough to set alarm bells ringing.
He opened a news alert that made his blood run cold:
"EXCLUSIVE: Pro Hero DynaMight's Secret Disability—Is He Still Fit for Duty?"
The headline was accompanied by a photo of him at that café with Mina, the new hearing aids clearly visible. He remembered the waitress who had served them, how her eyes had lingered a bit too long on his ears, the overly helpful way she'd spoken to him. Fucking vultures.
Whatever shitstorm had just hit clearly required his full attention. With reluctance, he reached into his gym bag for his hearing aids. He normally kept them out during workouts, preferring the focus that came with the quiet, but he'd need them to make calls. The moment the devices settled into place, the world roared back with painful clarity—the clanging of weights, multiple conversations echoing off the tiled walls, the whir of treadmills, music blaring from the speakers overhead. The sudden sensory overload made his head throb as he dialed his agency back.
"Finally," his agency rep sighed. "Have you seen the news?"
"Just the headline."
"It's bad. That waitress from your lunch with Ashido sold her story to three different tabloids. They're running with angles about public safety concerns, questioning whether your hearing loss affects your ability to respond to crises." The rep's voice was clipped, professional, but Katsuki could hear the underlying tension. "Since the public didn't know about your condition, instead of us controlling the narrative, we're now playing defense."
Katsuki's free hand curled into a fist, sparks dancing between his fingers before he forced himself to relax. Blowing up the locker room wouldn't solve anything.
"We need you to come in. There's talk about issuing a statement, possibly scheduling interviews with hero-friendly media to get ahead of this—"
"I'm on medical leave," Katsuki cut in, his voice sharper than intended. "Doctor's orders."
"This is a PR emergency, Bakugou. Your reputation—"
"My reputation," he snarled, "is built on fucking results, not press conferences."
A heavy sigh crackled through the phone. "This isn't going away. People are already speculating about whether you've been compromised on missions, whether civilians were at risk because of your... disability. Some are calling it a liability."
The words landed like blows. Disability. Liability. Like he was broken, defective, dangerous. The comfortable acceptance he'd been building these past weeks with you and Kouichi suddenly felt distant, replaced by the familiar hot shame that had dogged him since his diagnosis.
"I'll call back," he muttered, ending the call before the rep could protest.
He'd barely set the phone down when it vibrated again—his mother this time. Taking a deep breath, he answered.
"Finally! I've been calling you for an hour!" His mother's voice was sharp with worry rather than anger. "Have you seen it yet? The news?"
"Yeah, just found out," he replied, the weight of the situation evident in his voice. "Agency's already breathing down my neck."
"Those vultures," she spat, protective rage filling her words. "Some waitress with a camera phone thinks she can judge whether my boy can be a hero or not? The nerve of these people."
"Those vultures," she spat, protective rage filling her words. "Some waitress with a camera phone thinks she can judge whether my boy can be a hero or not? The nerve of these people."
Despite their typically explosive interactions, his mother had always been his fiercest defender. Something in that protective rage sparked a memory of your eyes—the way they had sharpened when a stranger had gotten too close to Kouichi, that quiet intensity when you'd checked him for injuries after training. Different in almost every way, but that same unwavering resolve when it came to protecting what mattered.
"How bad is it getting?" he asked, his voice strained with tension he couldn't quite hide.
"A hero commission rep called me for comment, can you believe that shit? Asked if there was a 'history of disability' in our family, like you've caught some fucking disease." The protective rage in her voice was so familiar it almost made him smile despite everything. She'd always been like this—all fire and sharp edges when anyone threatened her son, even when that same fire was directed at him minutes later.
"What did you tell them?" he asked, already knowing the answer.
"To go fuck themselves, obviously. More politely than that, but the message was clear." A heavy sigh came through the line. "Your father's worried sick too. He's been pacing the living room all morning watching those damn news segments."
His father, always the quieter counterbalance to his mother's explosive nature, rarely showed stress so visibly. The image of him wearing down their carpet with worried steps unsettled Katsuki in a way he couldn't explain.
"How bad is it?" Katsuki asked, bracing himself.
"It's all over the hero channels. They're bringing in so-called 'experts' to debate whether someone with hearing loss can effectively respond to crisis situations." Her voice tightened with barely contained fury. "As if you haven't been saving lives for years. As if you haven't already proven yourself a thousand times over." She paused, and when she spoke again, her voice had that rare gentle quality that only emerged in their most serious moments. "Katsuki, you know this doesn't change who you are. Not to us, not to anyone who matters."
The unexpected softness hit harder than her usual shouting ever could. It was the same tone she'd used when he'd come home after his first real defeat at UA, when they'd thought he might not recover from the villain attack during his internship, when the nightmares from being kidnapped had left him raw and shaking.
"I know," he managed, his throat tight.
"But," she continued, steel returning to her voice, "you need to get ahead of this. Your father's already seen three different news segments speculating about whether you should retire."
Retire. At twenty-three. The word landed like a physical blow, making his stomach drop.
"They're saying that?" The question came out rougher than he intended.
"Among other things." Her tone softened again, just slightly. "Look, you've never let anyone tell you what you can or can't do. Don't start now. But you need a plan, not just your usual 'blow-everything-up' approach."
Despite everything, a small smirk tugged at his lips. "That approach's worked pretty well so far."
"Not this time." She was dead serious now. "This isn't a villain you can outfight. It's public perception. You need to decide how you want to handle this—on your terms, not theirs."
She was right, and they both knew it. This wasn't a battle he could win with explosions or determination alone. It was messier, more insidious.
"I need to see what they're saying first," he said, jaw clenched. "Can you send me the worst of it?"
"Already texting you the links," she replied. He heard the soft click of her nails against her phone screen. "And don't forget dinner on Sunday. Your father wants to see you—make sure you're really okay, not just saying you are."
The dinner invitation was her way of making sure she'd see him again soon, her motherly concern wrapped in the guise of a routine family obligation.
"Yeah, fine. Sunday," he agreed, knowing it was easier than arguing. "I'll be there."
"Good. And Katsuki?" The protective fierceness was back. "Whatever you decide to do, we're behind you. All the way."
"Yeah. Thanks," he said, meaning it.
After ending the call, Katsuki's phone immediately buzzed with the incoming links from his mother. He opened his browser, steeling himself. Each headline was more sensationalized than the last:
"HERO OR HAZARD? DynaMight's Hidden Disability Raises Safety Concerns"
"EXPLOSIVE REVELATION: Top Pro Cannot Hear Emergency Calls"
"SOURCES CLOSE TO DYNAMIGHT: His Career Is Detonating"
Accompanying each headline were candid photos from his lunch with Mina, his hearing aids clearly visible, along with quotes from "anonymous hero industry insiders" questioning whether someone with hearing loss could effectively respond to crisis situations. One particularly vicious article had spliced together footage from his recent missions, highlighting moments where he'd appeared not to hear something immediately, presenting them as evidence of endangering civilians.
Against his better judgment, Katsuki scrolled to the comments section. The digital cesspool of public opinion hit harder than any villain's attack:
"Always knew something was off about him. Too unstable to be trusted anyway."
"My tax money pays his hero salary and he's been HIDING this? Fire him!"
"what if he can't hear someone screaming for help?? my kids love dynamight but this is scary"
"Deaf people shouldn't be heroes, sorry not sorry. Some jobs just require all your senses."
A hashtag was already trending: #DynamightOut with thousands of posts calling for his license to be reviewed. Though there were supportive voices—some disability advocates pushing back, a few loyal fans defending his record—they were drowning in the sea of outrage and fear.
The worst part was seeing comments from parents saying they wouldn't feel safe with him responding to emergencies where their children might be involved. That cut deeper than he wanted to admit. Even people he'd personally saved were questioning everything now, as if his hearing defined his entire worth as a hero.
The shame that washed over him was quickly burned away by rage. He'd poured everything into being a hero—sacrificed his body, his time, his personal life. And now they wanted to reduce him to this? To some broken thing that needed to be discarded?
His phone vibrated again, but this time it wasn't a call—it was a text from you.
"Just perfected that spice blend I've been working on. Think I finally got the heat level you've been demanding. Your taste buds will be the judge."
The normalcy of your message stood in stark contrast to the chaos erupting around him. No mention of the news, no probing questions—just that quiet certainty he'd grown to rely on.
His thumbs hovered over the screen for a moment before he typed: "Better not be lying this time. Last attempt was barely medium."
Your response came almost immediately: "You'll be begging for water, trust me.”
Despite everything, a ghost of a smile tugged at his lips. "We'll see about that."
"It's waiting for you whenever you're ready," you replied, the unspoken understanding in your message more comforting than it should have been.
The casual text exchange felt like a lifeline amid the morning's chaos. He briefly considered canceling to sort through the media mess, but the thought of returning to his empty apartment, surrounded by nothing but headlines and expectations, made his jaw clench.
"Be there at the usual time," he typed, somehow certain that this was exactly what he needed.
Shoving his phone into his pocket, Katsuki headed for the showers. He removed his hearing aids first, placing them carefully in their case. The world immediately muffled around him, the harsh voices of his fellow gym-goers fading to distant, unintelligible mumbles. The familiar cotton-wool silence settled over him like a protective blanket, creating a buffer between him and the morning's chaos.
The shower stall became a sanctuary of sensation without sound. He couldn't hear the water, not really, but he could feel every droplet striking his skin, the pressure against his shoulders, the vibrations traveling through his body as it hit the tile floor. Without competing auditory input, these physical sensations intensified—the steam opening his lungs, the heat loosening muscles he hadn't realized were tense.
The water couldn't wash away the headlines or the implications behind them, but as it beat against his shoulders, Katsuki found himself thinking about you. The steady way you carried yourself through each day. How you never wasted words but each one seemed to matter. Your eyes that saw too much and asked too little.
He'd never been one for getting caught up in other people. Connection meant vulnerability, and vulnerability wasn't something he'd made space for. Yet somehow the thought of your hands working methodically through curry preparations, of your quiet laugh when Kouichi said something unexpectedly wise - these thoughts felt steadying in ways he couldn't fully explain to himself.
As he dried off and dressed, Katsuki's phone buzzed with more media alerts, more concerned messages. The instinct to shut everything out pulled at him - the familiar urge to retreat into isolation until he'd figured out how to fight back. It was what he'd always done when cornered.
His hand hovered over his phone, ready to silence it completely. But instead, he found himself checking the time. He realized you'd be preparing for the lunch rush now. And something about that certainty drew him forward, pulled him away from the spiraling thoughts of his career.
Katsuki pocketed his phone and pulled a cap low over his eyes.
The curry shop's familiar bell chimed as Katsuki pushed the door open, shoulders rigid beneath his jacket. The baseball cap pulled low over his eyes and mask covering the lower half of his face did little to ease the feeling of exposure that had followed him through the streets. The usual lunch crowd was noticeably thin—just an elderly couple sharing a bowl in the corner and a businessman typing on his laptop while absently spooning curry into his mouth. His eyes immediately darted to the television that typically played hero news in the background, now conspicuously dark.
His body tensed as he made his way to his usual spot at the counter, hyper aware of each step despite his makeshift disguise. The cap's brim shadowed his distinctive red eyes, but he still found himself waiting for whispers or pointed looks. His jaw clenched beneath the mask, teeth grinding as memories of the morning's headlines flashed through his mind.
To his surprise, the elderly couple barely glanced up, and the businessman remained absorbed in his screen. No one stared. No one whispered behind their hands.
Before he could settle, a blur of movement caught his eye—Kouichi racing from behind the counter, small face alight with excitement, completely oblivious to the storm brewing around his hero.
"DynaMight!" Kouichi signed, his hands moving with the exuberance only a five-year-old could manage.
The simple, uncomplicated joy in the boy's expression made something in Katsuki's chest loosen, just slightly. There was no pity here, no questioning whether he was still worthy of admiration. Just pure, unfiltered excitement from a kid who saw him exactly as he always had.
"Hey, kid," Katsuki signed.
Kouichi's eyes lit up as he pointed to the counter where a fresh bowl of curry waited, steam rising in a fragrant cloud. "Mom made a special one just for you!"
His gaze followed Kouichi's gesture, finally landing on you. The sight of you standing behind the counter, wiping your hands on your apron, hit him with unexpected force. After the hellish morning he'd endured, you appeared almost radiant in the shop's warm lighting, a sanctuary of calm in the storm that had become his life. Your eyes met his with that quiet understanding that never failed to steady him, and for a brief, unguarded moment, he imagined stepping behind that counter and burying his face in your shoulder, letting your fingers card through his hair while the rest of the world and its headlines melted away. The sudden intensity of that desire sent heat crawling up his neck, forcing him to look away before you noticed. He'd come here seeking escape, but hadn't expected to find himself wanting your comfort with such desperate clarity.
He was surprised when you didn't ask him anything. There were no questions about why he was wearing a disguise or what was wrong. You simply acknowledged his presence with that same steady warmth you always offered.
"I told you it was waiting for you," you signed simply, sliding the steaming bowl toward him with a hint of pride in your movements.
Katsuki pulled the mask down just enough to expose his mouth, the unfamiliar yet enticing scent of the new curry reaching his nose. A more complex aroma than his usual order—deeper notes of chilies layered with something smoky and aromatic that he couldn't quite identify. Something about this new offering in the midst of chaos steadied him. In a world that had suddenly shifted beneath his feet, your continued effort to perfect something just for him meant more than he expected.
"Better not have been lying this time," he signed, the ghost of a smirk playing at his lips. "Last attempt was barely medium."
Katsuki took his first bite, and the heat hit immediately—not the one-dimensional burn of most "spicy" foods, but layer upon layer of complex heat that built with each bite, exactly the intensity he'd been demanding for weeks. His eyes widened slightly, a hint of genuine surprise breaking through his guarded expression.
"Holy shit," he muttered under his breath, the overwhelming sensation momentarily drowning out everything else—the headlines, the calls, the uncertainty about his future. The physical intensity of the spice grounded him in the present moment when his mind wanted to spiral into worst-case scenarios.
Kouichi, who had been watching Katsuki's reaction with rapt attention, leaned forward with intense curiosity. "Can I try it too?" he signed, looking between you and Katsuki with hopeful eyes.
"No way," Katsuki signed immediately. "It’s way too spicy for you."
"Absolutely not," you signed at the same time, your hands moving in perfect sync with Katsuki's refusal.
Kouichi's lower lip jutted out in an exaggerated pout, his small hands signing dramatically, "Just a tiny bit? Please? I'm brave!"
You exchanged a glance with Katsuki, who shrugged with a smirk that said "your call." The silent communication between you felt natural.
"Fine," you conceded with an exaggerated sigh. "One tiny taste. The smallest spoonful."
Kouichi bounced on his stool as you prepared a sample so small it barely covered the tip of the spoon. His face lit up with triumph as he accepted it. The moment the curry touched his tongue, his expression transformed—eyes widening in shock, then immediately watering as the heat hit him full force. His small hands frantically fanned at his open mouth, eyes pleading for water.
Katsuki's laugh burst out unexpectedly—rough and genuine. The rare sound warmed you from the inside as you quickly slid a glass of milk toward Kouichi. He gulped it desperately, dramatically fanning his tongue, while Katsuki's laughter lingered in the air between you.
"Told you, kid," Katsuki signed, amusement dancing in his eyes. For a brief moment, the weight he'd carried in seemed lighter. "Some things are too hot even for future heroes."
Kouichi, recovering with remarkable speed, signed with determination despite his still-watering eyes, "I'll train to handle spicy food too! Just like quirk training!"
"Good luck with that, kid," Katsuki signed with a smirk, before turning his attention back to the curry. He took another bite.
"Damn," he muttered, genuinely impressed but trying not to show it too much. "You finally got it right." He gestured at the bowl with his spoon. "Not just hot for the sake of being hot. Actually has depth to it."
The compliment clearly caught you off-guard, a faint flush coloring your cheeks as you nodded in acknowledgment. "Took some experimenting," you signed, your movements betraying a hint of pride. "Worth it though."
Those three simple words – worth it though – struck him with unexpected force. Heat crept up his neck and spread to his ears as he quickly looked down at his curry. Worth the time, worth the effort, worth experimenting again and again just for him. He couldn't remember the last time anyone had considered him worth that kind of dedication, not because he was a hero or because they wanted something from him, but simply because his satisfaction mattered.
For a moment, the rest of the shop seemed to fade away. The simple act of sharing this meal, of having someone create something specifically for him – who thought he was worth the effort – steadied him in a way he hadn't experienced before.
You caught the businessman signaling for his check from the corner of your eye and pulled yourself away from the counter to attend to him. As you processed his payment and thanked him for coming, you couldn't help noticing Katsuki's subtle movements in your peripheral vision—the way his shoulders tensed when his phone vibrated again, how his jaw tightened as he glanced at the screen before quickly pocketing it.
When you returned with the businessman's change, you caught the flicker of strain in Katsuki's expression before he masked it with his typical scowl. The news coverage must be taking more of a toll than he was letting on. Though he'd said nothing about it, you recognized the signs of someone carrying a heavy burden—you'd worn that same carefully controlled expression countless times yourself.
"You look like you could use a break today," you signed.
Katsuki's brow furrowed slightly. "I'm fine," he signed back, though the tension in his shoulders told a different story.
"I'm thinking you should skip training today.”
"And waste a training day?" Katsuki's hands moved sharply, though his eyes held a flicker of relief he couldn't quite hide. "What's the point of that?"
"The point," you signed, your movements calm but firm, "is that sometimes stepping away helps more than pushing through." Your eyes met his, knowing and steady, your expression free of the pity or concern he'd grown to hate from others.
Kouichi, who had been following the conversation with increasing interest, suddenly perked up. His eyes widened with excitement as he looked between you both, unable to contain himself any longer.
"Can we go to the park with the ducks?" His hands moved eagerly, bouncing slightly on his toes. When he noticed Katsuki's uncertain expression, he added simply, "I can practice extra tomorrow! Promise!" His small fingers crossed over his heart with childlike sincerity.
Your gaze met Katsuki’s, patient and steady, as Kouichi waited for his answer. There was no expectation in your expression, just quiet understanding—like whatever he chose would be enough. That, more than anything, caught him off guard.
The way you so effortlessly made space for him, like you'd already accounted for the hesitation he hadn’t voiced yet—he wasn’t sure if that unsettled him or if it was just…unfamiliar.
“Sure, why not,” he signed, the words slipping out before he had time to second-guess them.
"Give me fifteen minutes to close up early? Slow day anyway." Katsuki knew that wasn't entirely true, but the gentle lie felt like a gift.
As you handed the elderly couple their complimentary tea, Katsuki watched Kouichi bounce with excitement. He let himself take in the moment—the quiet ease of it, the way no one here looked at him like he was fragile or slipping through their fingers. No pity, no hesitation. Here, he was just Katsuki. And somehow, that was enough.
When you glanced his way again, there was something steady in your gaze, something that said: You're safe here. Whatever's happening, you don't have to face it alone.
Kouichi tugged at his sleeve, impatient to get going, and Katsuki exhaled, some of the tension in his shoulders easing. The world outside would still be there when he returned—questions, speculation, the gnawing uncertainty about what came next. But for now, he had a reason to step away. Not because he was retreating, but simply because he could. Because you were offering something he hadn't realized he needed—permission to exist without proving his worth, room to breathe without explanations, company that asked for nothing except his presence.
You flipped the sign to 'Closed' and locked the door, while Kouichi waited by the entrance, his small backpack already strapped on.
"Duck food?" he signed, eyebrows raised hopefully.
You nodded, patting the container of leftover rice in your bag. "All ready."
Outside, the afternoon sun cast long shadows across the street. Kouichi immediately took the lead, his eager steps carrying him just ahead as you walked beside Katsuki. The baseball cap pulled low over his distinctive ash-blonde hair and the mask covering half his face couldn't diminish his presence, but provided enough anonymity to keep curious eyes at bay.
Every few meters, he glanced around, his crimson eyes scanning for potential recognition. The muscles in his jaw worked beneath the mask, tension evident in the set of his shoulders. You recognized the posture—the same alertness you'd cultivated during your first months after escaping, when every stranger might have been a threat.
"You come to this park often?" Katsuki asked as you turned onto a quieter street.
"At least once a week," you signed back. "They changed the landscaping in the central park—added those fancy stone pathways that look nice in photos but hurt Kouichi's feet when he runs. This one's more natural."
Katsuki snorted. "Fucking city planners. All aesthetics, no function."
The blunt assessment made you smile. After a long day of carefully measuring your words with customers, his honesty was a relief. As if sensing your amusement, his shoulders eased, the crease between his brows softening ever so slightly.
"The food trucks there are better though," you admitted. "The takoyaki stand on Thursdays makes the best sauce I've ever had."
"Takoyaki's overrated," Katsuki signed, expression deadpan. "Greasy balls of dough with tentacle chunks."
You laughed, the sound ringing through the quiet morning, startling a nearby bird into flight. It had been days since you'd laughed like that—unrestrained, unexpected, warm. Katsuki's eyes widened slightly, surprise flickering across his face before something softer settled there. His lips, hidden beneath the mask, twitched.
"Says the man who puts hot sauce on literally everything."
"Not the same thing," he argued. "Heat enhances flavor. Grease just smothers it."
Kouichi darted back to show you a particularly interesting leaf he'd found, then raced ahead again, boundless energy propelling him forward.
"How'd you learn to make curry anyway?" Katsuki asked after a comfortable silence had settled, his hands less rigid now, moving more naturally. "Family recipe?"
You shook your head, weighing how much to share. "Self-taught. Worked at a café during high school, but the owner only served bland, touristy versions of Japanese dishes. Started experimenting at home."
You left out the parts about cheap motels with hotplates, stretching ingredients to last for days, and the long nights spent perfecting recipes when you couldn't sleep for fear of being found. But something in Katsuki's direct gaze made you want to offer more truth than you usually did.
"Carried a notebook everywhere," you added, fingers forming signs you rarely shared. "Wrote down every recipe, every adjustment. It was... grounding. When things got complicated."
Katsuki's gaze lingered on your face, his eyes tracing every detail with an intensity that should have unsettled you, but didn’t.
The park opened before you, less manicured than the central city parks, with areas of wilder growth around its edges. A small lake gleamed in the center, its surface rippling with gentle breezes. A family of ducks paddled near the shoreline, occasionally dipping beneath the surface only to pop up elsewhere.
"Mom, look!" Kouichi signed excitedly, pointing toward a playground set back from the water where two other children played. "Can I go?"
You nodded, and he was off in a flash of movement. The distance was close enough that you could keep an eye on him while giving him the independence he craved.
"He's always moving," Katsuki commented as you settled on a bench overlooking both the lake and playground. His eyes tracked Kouichi's excited dash toward the slide.
"Yeah," you agreed, watching your son with a mix of pride and exhaustion. "Sometimes I wonder where all that energy comes from. By the end of the day, I'm completely drained, but he's still bouncing off the walls."
Katsuki snorted, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "When I was his age, my parents couldn't keep up either. Blew up the neighbor's mailbox with my quirk while they weren't looking." There was unmistakable pride in his voice. "Old hag grounded me for a month."
"Let me guess—that didn't slow you down at all?" you asked, finding yourself genuinely curious about what kind of child had grown into the man beside you.
"Hell no," he said, the corner of his mouth lifting. "Just got better at not getting caught." He shifted on the bench, his body easing into a more relaxed posture. One arm stretched along the backrest behind you—not quite touching, but close enough that warmth radiated between you. He pulled down his mask to take a drink of water, the sharp lines of his face softening in the afternoon light.
"What about you?" he asked, crimson eyes meeting yours with unexpected interest. "What were you like as a kid?"
You hesitated, sifting through memories that felt like they belonged to someone else's life. "I was pretty normal, I guess. Had a group of friends I was always with. We'd spend hours exploring this creek behind our neighborhood, building forts and pretending we were pro heroes." The memory surfaced unexpectedly, warm and bittersweet. "I was always the mastermind, planning our 'missions' down to the last detail."
Katsuki nodded, as if this made perfect sense. "Control freak even back then, huh?"
"Excuse me?" you said with mock offense, though you couldn't suppress your smile. "I prefer 'strategically minded.'"
"Same thing," he replied, but there was something like respect in his tone. "Bet you were good at it too."
The casual confidence in your abilities caught you off guard. It wasn't flattery—Katsuki Bakugou didn't seem the type for empty compliments—but simple acknowledgment, as if your competence was an objective fact rather than an opinion. You weren't used to that kind of straightforward appreciation from anyone.
You found yourself looking away, suddenly aware of the warmth spreading through your chest that had nothing to do with the afternoon sun.
A comfortable silence fell between you as you watched Kouichi introduce himself to the other children. There was something grounding about sitting in the afternoon sun, wrapped in easy conversation, where the words didn’t matter as much as the warmth between them.
"This park reminds me of one near where I grew up," Katsuki signed suddenly, his crimson eyes scanning the landscape. "Used to spend hours there after school, practicing my quirk where no one would complain about the noise."
You followed his gaze across the open green space. "You had a place to practice freely? That sounds nice."
"Nice?" He snorted. "It was necessary. My quirk wasn't exactly indoor-friendly." His hands paused, a half-smile playing on his lips. "Blew up half my bedroom once when I was eight. The old hag threatened to make me sleep in the yard."
"I can't imagine how your parents managed," you signed, picturing a young Katsuki with his explosive temperament to match his quirk. "Mine had it easy with me. My quirk is subtle—food-based healing isn't exactly destructive."
"You kidding? My parents gave as good as they got," he replied, something like fondness crossing his usually stern features. "Mom's just as explosive as I am—maybe worse. We butted heads constantly. Still do, honestly."
The image of a young Katsuki facing off against an equally fierce mother made you laugh. "Sounds like a lively household."
"That's putting it mildly. Dad somehow manages to keep the peace between us. He's the only person I've ever seen who can handle both of us together."
"They sound close," you signed, a hint of wistfulness in your expression.
"Yeah," he agreed, studying your face. "What about you? What was home like growing up?"
The question caught you off guard—casual for most people, but complicated for you. You chose your words carefully, offering truth without revealing too much. "Quiet, mostly. Parents worked long hours. Dad traveled a lot for business, and mom was always busy with community committees and social events."
"So you were on your own?" he asked.
"I had the house to myself a lot," you admitted, the admission easier than you'd anticipated. "I had friends at school, but not the kind you call when things get tough. We kept things surface-level—homework, movies, that sort of thing."
Katsuki's brows furrowed slightly, his voice lower than before. "That sounds...exhausting."
The words weren’t sharp or dismissive, just an honest observation. Most people would’ve tried to fix it, to fill the space with empty reassurances, but he didn’t. He just let it sit.
"I got used to it," you signed, the admission feeling like peeling back a layer you usually kept firmly in place. "Got good at being self-sufficient. Turns out that's a useful skill later in life."
"But a shitty way to grow up," he countered, his bluntness somehow comforting rather than harsh.
You shrugged, surprised by how easy it felt to share this with him. "It made me vulnerable in ways I didn't understand until later. When someone finally came along and made me feel seen..." You trailed off, having already said more than you intended.
To your relief, he didn't press for details. He was quiet for a moment, his crimson eyes studying you with unexpected perception.
"Yeah," he finally signed. "That kind of thing can screw you over." His jaw tightened briefly before he let out a slow breath. "But it's not your fault for wanting that.”
The simple understanding in his words caught you off guard. There was no judgment or pity in his expression, just recognition.
"What about you? You've always seemed so confident. Did you ever feel... overlooked?"
A humorless smile crossed his face. "Tch. The opposite problem." His hands moved more deliberately now. "My quirk showed up early and it was powerful from the start. I was always good at everything I tried—sports, academics, you name it."
His hands stilled for a moment, something vulnerable flickering across his face that he quickly masked. "Everyone expected greatness. Teachers, classmates, even my parents in their own way."
"That sounds like a lot of pressure," you observed, watching as something shifted in his expression.
His eyes fixed briefly on a duck skimming across the lake's surface. The slight tightening at the corners of his mouth was the only indication that your words had touched something deeper.
"Yeah," his hands moved after a beat. "The bar was always set impossibly high."
You noticed the way his shoulders tensed almost imperceptibly, how his fingers flexed once before continuing to sign.
"When everyone expects you to be exceptional, being merely good isn't an option." His movements remained controlled, but there was a new precision to them, as if focusing on the technical aspects of signing helped maintain distance from the content. "So I pushed myself harder. Had to be the best because anything less would've been seen as failure."
"And now?" you ventured.
"Now?" he repeated, something vulnerable flickering across his face before his expression settled into thoughtful resignation. "Now I'm stuck figuring out what the hell happens when you spend your whole life crushing every obstacle, then something comes along you can't just blast through." His fingers curled into a fist against his thigh before relaxing deliberately, the motion a silent confession of his struggle.
You let his words settle between you, recognizing the weight they carried. There was something in his honesty that resonated with your own battles—different circumstances but a similar core: adapting when life throws something at you that can't be overcome through sheer force of will.
"Speaking of obstacles," you signed, deciding to shift the conversation to lighter ground, "this food critic came in last month. Guy sent back perfectly good curry because it wasn't 'authentic' enough." You made air quotes to emphasize your disdain.
His attention returned, the shadow receding from his expression. "What'd you do?" Katsuki leaned forward slightly, interest piqued.
"Added more spice to the replacement bowl. Twice what I'd normally use," you signed, a mischievous smile playing at your lips. "Watched him sweat through his designer shirt while insisting it was 'delightful' because he didn't want to admit it was too hot."
"Fucking perfect," Katsuki's eyes lit with approval, crinkles forming at their corners. "Should've recorded it."
His smile—rare and unguarded—lit up his face, softening the sharp angles without dulling the intensity in his eyes. It was disarming, unexpected. Heat rushed to your cheeks as you glanced away, startled by the way your heart stuttered in response.
The afternoon stretched comfortably around you. Kouichi occasionally returned to show off treasures he'd discovered or to grab a quick drink from his water bottle before racing back to his new friends. The simplicity of the moment felt like a shelter—one you suspected Katsuki needed as much as you did.
When Kouichi finally came to scatter rice for the ducks, Katsuki surprised you by joining in, showing him how to toss the grains in a wide arc to reach more birds.
"You're aiming like you've got no control," he told Kouichi, his signs precise and direct. "Think about the target point. Like this." He demonstrated with a practiced flick of his wrist, the rice scattering in a perfect arc that reached the farthest ducks.
Kouichi's face lit up as he mimicked the movement, his accuracy improving immediately. The pride in Kouichi's expression when Katsuki nodded in approval was unmistakable.
As evening approached, shadows lengthened across the grass. To the east, darker clouds gathered on the horizon while the setting sun cast an orange glow across the lake.
"We should start heading back," you signed, gesturing toward the darkening sky. "Looks like rain coming."
Katsuki glanced upward, nodding in agreement. Kouichi groaned in theatrical disappointment but didn't argue, his energy finally beginning to wane.
The first distant rumble of thunder reached you as you passed through the park gates. Though Kouichi couldn't hear it, he must have felt the vibration, because he looked up at the darkening sky with wide eyes. The first few raindrops began to fall as you turned onto your street, fat drops that left dark spots on the pavement.
Katsuki walked beside you, his earlier tension nowhere visible. The weight that had driven him to your shop this morning seemed lighter now, though not gone. You recognized the shift—not healing, exactly, but the temporary respite that comes from stepping away from what hurts.

some notes on to all the boys i've loved before!svt (hyung and maknae) | 💌 est. release dates for special chapters -> feb. 13, thurs (hyung) & feb. 15, sat (maknae), gmt+8.
Tumblr media
(1) in the smau, cheol is 'your best friend's brother', but it was originally supposed to be something else: 'your [older] brother's best friend'! i brought it up in conversation with someone (chugging-antiseptic-dye, i think) and was convinced to do a switcheroo at the last minute.
it's acknowledged in the first line of the letter ("this is the cliche of all cliches...") but something about cheol just slots into the trope all too well. i've seen people joke that he's a strong start, and i blame myself for squeezing the 'pretty girl' and 'gorgeous' pet names in one screenshot. lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(2) jeonghan being an upperclassman at the school play was a call made by diamonddaze01, with respect to jeonghan having attended an acting institute for a short while. initially, the 'main lead' trope was supposed to be seokmin's— but i was convinced that jeonghan's acting background is way too underutilized in fic. [linking jeonghan's acting stint in KIGGEN(키겐) ((PHANTOM)(팬텀)) _ PLAYBACK(다시보기) for funsies!]
the little letter is so jeonghan as well, particularly "you didn't have to be so nice to us." i think it's very telling of hannie, to crack jokes and give words of encouragement even to the 'smallest' role in a production.
Tumblr media
(3) i have zero shame in admitting that this trope came way too easily to me. guitar teacher!shua? sign me the fuck up. it's a blend of all his little passions— the guitar, other people, etc.— and so it was a bit of a no-brainer. couple that with his politeness over the letter and you have something that is just so shua-coded.
i have visions of fingers with embeddings of the strings, of shua's eyes crinkling in quiet laughs as he teaches you to play. it's all in the letter, and i'm just amused at the thought of MC being so distracted over her crush on shua that she didn't learn anything past the most basic song to play on guitar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(4) nothing like a good rivals to ...? trope to get the blood pumping! i will be honest: if i had a say, my hyung line vote would go to junhui. the ending line in his letter ("wen junhui, if i didn't know any better— i'd say that you liked me a little bit, too") was my absolute favorite for the hyung ver.
this one has a healthy dose of emotional constipation/tsundere!jun/etc., although here is also a small confession: the trope was initially soonyoung's. i switched it out after staring a little too long at his exclusive fairytale photos.
Tumblr media
(5) among the hyung line, this was the one i settled on last, if only because i had to pull that switch. this was prior to soonyoung admitting he knows how to get latte to stop kissing him ([sighs heavily]). i was thoroughly amused by MC falling for the owner of the pet she sits often.
i like the line "you care deeply for all loving things, big and small" in the letter, if only because i think it's characteristic of how soonyoung is as a person. latte is technically a plot device (lol) in this story, although i can just imagine how part-lovable/part-insufferable soonyoung would be as a client.
Tumblr media
(6) this is not the first gamer!wonwoo trope you will see. it will not be the last. this was also a relatively easy trope to assign, although a expounds on it by referring to wonwoo as "the guy you meet/play with on the League of Legends forums." i make a passing LoL reference in the letter, because that's the foundation of the crush: the bespectacled guy on the other side of the screen who will beg and borrow for one more game with you.
i tend to make my gamer!wonwoo's a little more on the awkward/'loser' side, so the cockiness in the texts are certainly new. i didn't want to get too nsfw on the main (lmaooo) so the jab of "i didn't know you liked my fingers that much, though" is up to your imagination. (:
Tumblr media
(7) in her reblog of the hyung post, heartepub says something to the extent of "i can imagine jihoon's fingers shaking as he types out 'if you want'" and it endeared me to no end, because of course. anicon-goer jihoon is another stroke of brilliance for a. in hindsight, i think it's just a little too niche to hit the right marks, but i wanted to do something that was characteristic to the members.
this almost became something akin to jihoon falling for a cosplayer/being a cosplayer himself; i don't think i had enough room to worldbuild that much, though. overall, this is adjacent to a more tsundere jihoon/a jihoon that reciprocates but cannot confess.
Tumblr media
(8) on a technical end, i'd written mingyu's letter first buuut i rewrote it... and so i consider seokmin's the first that i really wrote for the maknae line. immediately, i was worried i'd be screwed and everybody would be able to tell that i am madly in love with this man. anyway. we ball.
for the maknae line, my vote admittedly goes to seok! one part i really enjoy is the parallels between "everything good about the summers… the hot days, the crackle of campfires, the chirping of cicadas" -> "you're the sun, seokmin. you're the fire; you're the song", which is really just MC's roundabout way of confessing that seokmin is everything good about her summers.
Tumblr media
(9) it took several consultations with maplegyu to nail gyu's trope. she's eventually the one who came up with the prospect of him being that handsome constant on public transportation. the letter says a lot about mingyu's more caring attributes, and there's also a bit of a parallel to hannie's.
mingyu doesn't have to be nice, to be sweet, and yet he wants to. <- this was a concept i'd wanted to integrate in the texts, but since the texts come first, i didn't know how to make it seamless. the vague idea here is "is mingyu sweet to you because he likes you, or is he like that to everybody?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(10) combining the two things i love (bookstores + minghao) is, unfortunately, a cheap shot on my end. bookstore cashier!minghao sliding in with a pickup line alluding letters to milena just had me shaking my head at myself, honestly.
i couldn't resist sliding in a small poetry reference. his letter ends with "xu minghao, you could sell me the world" -> which is a shameless allusion to maggie smith's good bones, namely the part where it goes "i am trying / to sell them the world. any decent realtor, / walking you through a real shithole, chirps on / about good bones."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(11) the idea of 'weekend warrior' seungkwan entails some backstory-telling, since i feel like it doesn't translate too well in text/letter: seungkwan is a guy you run into a lot at your weekend markets. the two of you exchanged numbers, mostly for convenience, to discuss produce and essentially find somebody to go with! for my fellow filipinos, the scene i have in mind is comparable to the salcedo saturday market hehe.
i've gotten a number of reactions to seungkwan's 'mrs. boo' quote, which, you know what? completely valid. MC x seungkwan bicker like an old couple, and the thought of a seungkwan on the flirtier end is just a little too good to pass up on.
Tumblr media
(12) 'friend of a friend' vernon is a very specific trope wherein you find your acquaintance/etc. attractive and desirable. there's a joke constantly made that a crush is only a crush until you find out more about them, and i feel like that's the vibe of this particular verse. vernon is ~mysterious~ and [seemingly] unattainable, making him the guy of your dreams.
the letter is vague enough. the texts are a little more in character, in what (i hope 🤞) reads like actual textspeak you might expect from this Man.
Tumblr media
(13) i do think it's worth clarifying that chan is not blood-related to MC; 'auntie's son' had a longer title ('the son of your mother's friend') that didn't quite roll off the tongue lol. this one has two lines i enjoyed writing ("i think i'm supposed to fall in love with you" + "i don't want to have you, because then i stand the chance of losing you"), and overall just slots right into the childhood friends to ...? trope.
i've grown quite fond of the more sunshine-y aspects of chan's personality, hence the excitability and sarcasm in the texts. it's a bit of a puppy love situation, admittedly, and it's a question of whether that's enough for something real.
Tumblr media
thank you for receiving this little project so well! :") whenever i do annotations, i always say "this story is yours now"— but the choose-your-own adventureness of it all makes it all the more true.
see you all for the special chapter! xo linking one final time for those who want to cast votes/reread:

TWST Boys as ✨ PARENTS✨(Part 1)
TW: kids, pregnancy, reader is depicted as female, domestic, fluff
Tumblr media
ft. :Heartsabyul, Savanaclaw | pt.2 ; ft. Octavinelle & Scarabia | pt.3; ft.Pomefiore, Ignhihyde | pt. 4; ft.Diasomnia
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts-
This man only has 1 kid, maybe 2 but that's kinda pushing it. I think he would be so worried about messing up his child the way his mother messed him up. He'd be strict yet dotting on his children; like he'll make sure their homework is done by a reasonable time and then praise them for doing really well on an assignment, especially if it's a subject they genuinely struggle with. If I'd say a boy dad or girl dad honestly, I think it could go either way, but I'm leaning towards boy dad.
Trey Clover-
I heavily believe he will have a big family anywhere from 4 - 7 kids. And these kids are absolutely close in age because I know the two of you are gonna get very busy, it feels like you're always pregnant with other people. Just imagine Trey with a mini him (or you) helping him crack the eggs in a bowl while they're wearing matching aprons <3. He would be a gentle parent but would put his foot down went he needed to. When it comes to girl dad or boy dad I can only think both!!
Cater Diamond-
At first he wasn't sure he wanted kids bc kids are a lot to take care of, but after the two of you being together and going through so much. He realizes deep down he did want to start a family with you. He would probably want only one or two but your first pregnancy you end up with triples; then you two said that's it until you got pregnant again with twins!!(My headcanon that Cater's special magic makes it more likely to have twins, triplets, etc come for here!!). It wasn't what the two of you anticipated but you couldn't be happier
Your pair of triplets ended up being 2 girls and a boy, then your twins were girls. He's a very fun dad always staying on top of the trends and slang. He has a hard time laying down the law with his kids sometimes, so you have to do it most of the time but when he really has to he does. *Bonus: You guys have 4 family photo shoots a year, and multiple photo albums*
Ace Trappola-
He probably has 3-5 kids, but from time to time it feels like you have 4-6 kids. He's always getting into trouble with them, playing pranks on you and others, even each other. There is no quiet in your household, it doesn't exist til everyone's asleep. Your kids are the most playful and competitive children you've ever seen, but they know to dial it back from time to time; Ace told them "When your mom says it once, she might be joking, if she says it twice she more likely serious so listen, if you make it to three....your the only name going on that tombstone". You guys are the most chaotic adorable family ever.
Deuce Spade-
He has 3 kids and not a single one of them is male, bc this man is %100 a GIRL DAD!! At first he was nervous about messing her up but after your first girl turned 3 and your second is 1, he couldn't imagine having a boy. He is the most proud girl dad you'll ever see. Is so protective of his amazing girls(that includes you btw), would fight off mosquito if it bit one his girls, no matter have stupid he looks. Spoils his little girls in any way he can, luckily you're there to make sure their not TOO spoiled.
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar-
This man has 2 children and always makes sure one never feels less than the other. He knows what it's like to be stuck in your siblings shadow so he tries to make sure that never happens to his kids. While he won't always be present since he is still part of the royal family and therefore will have certain royal duties to fulfill; he will always do his best to be there for his kids. He does sleep less then he did before since his life is busier, but he always makes sure to take a nap everyday so when he's with his wife and kids he'll be able to be in a better mode to see his beautiful family. He would have one girl and one boy.
Ruggie Bucchi-
3-8 kids. His kids are the rowdiest, sneakiest kids you've ever seen. Although most of the time they're super sweet(to you). The first time you two talked about kids you agreed on only 2, but after having your first 2 rascals. You two got some more baby fever and ended up having only a few more. You did have a good paying job so you could take care of your little pack of children. The Bucchi household never has a boring day because there is always something really exciting or crazy that is happening. Overall he has more girls than he does boys. You first daughter stays a daddy's girl <3, but dw he loves all his kids equally!
Jack Howl-
4 kids, an even amount. He isn't the most expressive Dad but his kids can tell how he feels based on body language and physical acts. While to others it may seem as if he couldn't care less about his kids, it is the complete opposite. Always making sure their ok, celebrating their accomplishments, and always encouraging them to do what they love. His kids can tell through these small acts that he loves them. Your husband loves to take early morning runs, ofc but when your kids are babies he would take them in their stroller so they can get some fresh air to get them in a good mood. He does that so that maybe if their baby is in a better mood you won't have to much stress when trying to figure out what they need; it makes both of your lives easier. At first the two of you though you'd only have boys bc of your first 3 but then low and behold, your last kid was a baby girl<3!!

my favorite mulder moments from s6
doing his best to analyze the fragments of the x files left after the fire in episode 1, because he will never give up on anything he sets his mind to
veeeeery carefully handing the mystery beast’s claw to scully for analysis ("is that an animal?" "ain't rupaul")
accidentally traveling through a time warp in episode 3 and attempting to convince the ww2 soldiers that the war is actually over, then giggling at his own luck in tracing down the missing ship (NERD! nerd)
then finding ww2 era scully and being so confused as to why she doesn’t know him because… that’s scully!!! who knows him better than anyone in the world!
being trapped in the body of someone else in episode 4, and when he sees the photo of that guy’s wife and kids, he sadly whispers “scully” (and then when his “wife” slaps him awake, he AGAIN mumbles “scully”... yeah, she really is your family, huh?)
trying so hard to convince scully it’s really him trapped in someone else’s body: “your mother’s name is margaret, your brother’s name is bill jr. he’s in the navy and he HATES me” and the desperation in his voice when she still doesn't believe him :(
episode 5: “hey scully? i, uh, know it’s not your normal life, but thanks for coming out there with me” (there will always be bonus points for emotional communication and then even MORE bonus points for his reaction to discovering the waterbed right after. i'd frame it if i could)
maurice roasting him in episode 6 for being “prone to obsessive compulsiveness, workaholism, antisocialism- fertile fields for the descent into total wacko breakdown” <- get his ass
“you know why you think you’ve seen the things you do?” “because… i have seen them?” <- the SASS in that delivery! oh my!
finding the case file that spender shredded up in episode 7 and taping it together so he could investigate himself… lmao, that’s a man that gets results!
and then his great strategy for getting answers on that case being to annoy a demon until something happens... and it works <3
his reaction in episode 8 to scully being referred to as “the missus”; he mouths “oh!” and fidgets a bit, looking both terrible awkward and pleased, haha
and who can forget the iconic “i do not GAZE at scully”? surely not i!
finding skinner sick in his office late at night in episode 9- claiming he's just saying hello, then asking him if he’ll be okay, turning off all of the lights so he felt more comfortable, and angling a desk lamp so scully could inspect him
getting very jealous when scully gets assigned to the case of the mysterious death photographer in episode 10 without him: “i’m thinking murder by telekinesis. i’m thinking maybe a shamanistic death touch. i’m thinking about the muslim superstition that to photograph someone is to steal their soul” (and his righteous fury at the idea of them being separated 🙁)
being nosy throughout the whole episode because somehow he ended up with the files from kersh’s computer and calling her for frequent updates (and using a silly voice to say “we used to sit next to each other at the FBI” to make her smile while she's super annoyed with terrible agent ritter)
hunting through the FBI archives at 9 am to track down information for scully’s case, and when he learns that she is in danger and not picking up her phone, immediately calling trash agent ritter to go check in on her
when said trash partner SHOOTS and nearly KILLS scully, he goes to visit her in the hospital a week later, and corners him, saying only that he is a lucky man. you KNOW he wanted to get violent. amazing self-restraint on him!
grabbing scully’s hand in her hospital bed and smiling, telling her the doctor said her recovery is amazing- she’s still so sad, and he says “death only looks for you once you seek its opposite”
gym mulder in episodes 11 and 12... the basketball... yeah ❤️
trying to be kind in episode 13 and it immediately backfiring in that cringe-inducing fashion that only he is capable of achieving: “stay there, mrs. suarez. we're going to make sure your baby makes it safely into the world” “well, thank you, but i’m not in labor. and my name is not suarez, it’s villareal. he tells people i’m his wife. like he’s so macho”
the wind-up chattering teeth on the desk in episode 14 <3
how wildly excited he was to play house in episode 15- “hey, oooh wait a minute, you didn’t let me carry you over the threshold”
and then taunting all of the neighbors with his stupid basketball hoop, LMAOOO
in episode 16, he knows off the top of his head how many years ago the wanshang dhole went extinct
rare communication w for mulder in episode 17 when they get into their usual spat about his theory not being scientifically possible and he decides to instead focus them on what they both agree on: the need to find june
opening up about how important baseball is to him in episode 19: “it’s like the numbers talk to me, they comfort me, they tell me that even though lots of things can change, some things do remain the same. it’s-" "boring?” (pouty mulder face as scully teases him)
AND his recitation to arthur dales of how many home runs mickey mantle hit with each hand
chatting with arthur dales and telling on himself when it comes to his feelings: “do you believe that love can make a man shapeshift?” “i guess… women change men all the time” “i’m not talking about women” (they then share hot dogs, pizza, and chinese takeout)
AND paying that little boy to help him surprise scully with the baseball date- sharing something that is both personal to him and plain fun with her
scully asks him what more he hopes to find in episode 22, and he answers “my sister” 💔 because that is still at the heart of every single action he does after all of this time… no matter which way the plot veers, who the bad guys of the week are, or where life leads him, it's always about samantha and that guilt he harbors over her

Azriel's ongoing theme is to find...
PEACE. WITHIN AND AROUND HIM
To realize that he is:
Worthy of love
Loved by his family for WHO he is as a person
Not defined by his traumatic past and actions
Allowed to fight for who or what he wants
This male has been:
Locked up in a cell for ELEVEN years by his stepmother, only being let out an hour a day and an hour a WEEK to see his mother
Burned ruthlessly by his half brothers at the age of eight, resulting in burns on his hands that didn't fully heal, leaving scars (which he's STILL extremely self-conscious about after 500 years)
Surrounded by darkness and shadows for years without sunlight as a child
Forbidden to train and fly while he lived with his father, something that's taught to Illyarians as a BABY
Shipped off to an Illyarian camp when his father found out he was a shadowsinger
Mocked as a bastard child alongside Rhys and Cassian
Hated by the Illyarians for his immense power due to being a bastard child (Illyarians valued patricharcy more than anything)
Separated from his friends for seven years during the war. (Rhys' father was FEARFUL of the bat boys being together because of their power)
Assigned as the spymaster by Rhys' father and was forced to do all his dirty work (we don't know what ALL Rhys' father made Azriel do during the war, and he was a ruthless male)
Pinning over Mor for over 500 years, even finding out Cassian slept with her
Thinking he is only of value to his friends for his work as a spymaster
Almost killed twice (once when trying to save Elain from Hybern and second when he was pierced by an ash arrow)
Finally able to move on from Mor, finding solace and peace with Elain (who is interested in him as well) only to be ordered to stay away from her due to Lucien being her mate ( even though she doesn’t show interest in Lucien)
Azriel needs some all-around PEACE in his life.
What about a love interest?
The fandom seems to debate on this topic, but one thing for sure is that he doesn't need to be "challenged" by someone... Where do we even see THAT being anywhere in the books?
Here's what we are shown...
1. Where do we find him most at peace/relaxed?
Tumblr media
With Elain
Even Feyre states that Elain would find PEACE and QUIET with Azriel... and liked the idea...
Tumblr media
2. Who do we find Azriel's focus on?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elain
3. Where do we find the IC being the most surprised by Azriels reactions/actions?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Elain
4. Who does Azriel ALWAYS try to beat Feyre to greet/assist?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elain
5. Who does Azriel always volunteer to help?
Tumblr media
(Omg I hit my limit with photos 🤣)
But I strode to my seat—nestled between Amren and Mor—in time to see Elain say to Azriel, “Hello.” Az said nothing. No, he just moved toward her. Mor tensed beside me. But Azriel only took Elain’s heavy dish of potatoes from her hands, his voice soft as night as he said, “Sit. I’ll take care of it.”
Elain
6. Who stills Azriel's razor-sharp thoughts?
Too many razor-sharp thoughts sliced him any time he grew still long enough for them to strike."....
Azriel let his shadows whisk away the box as she said softly, "Put it on me?"
His head went quiet.
Elain
7. Who was Azriel willing to give up his LIFE to save?
From the shadows near the entrance to the tent, Azriel said, as if in answer to some unspoken debate, “I’m getting her back.” Nesta slid her gaze to the shadowsinger. Azriel’s hazel eyes glowed golden in the shadows. Nesta said, “Then you will die.” Azriel only repeated, rage glazing that stare, “I’m getting her back.”
Elain
8. Who openly accepts Azriel's scars, one of his BIGGEST insecurities?
Azriel, graceful as any courtier, offered her an arm. I couldn’t tell if she was looking at his blue Siphon or at his scarred skin beneath as she breathed, “Beautiful.” Color bloomed high on Azriel’s golden-brown cheeks,
Elain
9. Who actually SEES him and notices his needs?
“I had Madja make it for me,” Elain explained. Azriel’s brows narrowed at the mention of the family’s preferred healer. “It’s a powder to mix in with any drink.” Silence. Elain bit her lip and then smiled sheepishly. “It’s for the headaches everyone always gives you. Since you rub your temples so often.” Silence again. Then Azriel tipped his head back and laughed.
Elain
10. Who is Azriel thinking about every night?
He had only allowed himself these thoughts in the dead of night. Had only allowed his hand to fist his cock and think about her then, when even his shadows had gone to sleep. How that beautiful face might appear as he entered her, what sounds she'd make
Elain
11. Who does Azriel want to kiss and have a lovely pussy eating feast on?
Wrong -- it was so wrong.
He didn't care.
He needed to know what the skin of her neck tasted like. What those perfect lips tasted like. Her breasts. Her sex. He needed her coming on his tongue --
Elain
ELAIN IS THE ANSWER TO HIS PEACE...
TO HELPING HIM FIND PEACE WITHIN AND AROUND HIM.

Tumblr media
“You have to show me him!” Yuki exclaimed as you adjusted her outfit, making sure everything fit well. “Well, I could show you a picture, but he’s gonna come in right after you, so you could stay a minute extra.”
You two were referring to Megumi, as Yuki had always been one interested in starting conversation on people’s types. You were no exception. She told you that the reason she did it revealed a lot about the person without them knowing, you could see what she meant to an extent but really only she knew what she was talking about.
“Ooo, like how soon after me?” You looked at the time displayed on your phone, seeing the lock screen show the song you were quietly playing in the background for you and Yuki, as you guys were the only ones around. The numbers at the top read the time 5:50. “Like in ten minutes maybe, he said he’d be here around six.”
You backed up, asking Yuki to spin for you, seeing that everything seemed to fit well. “Does anything feel off?” “No, it’s perfect actually!”
“Great! Well that’s really all, you can go and change again, are you staying for a few?”
“Well I am curious, i’ll stick around with you for a bit.”
Tumblr media
6:20, and Megumi was no where to be seen. “Is he running late?” Yuki asked leaning her back against the table while she sat down, facing you who was standing up, peaking out the window of the studio room to see if there was any sign of anyone walking in.
“I don’t know, he hasn’t answered the text I sent him.”
“He usually shows up on time?”
“Most of the time, there was just once where he showed up late, but that’s because of something that was happening.” You turned back to Yuki, checking your phone just once again to see if there was any sign from him. “Like how late?” You placed your phone down, sighing before answering “40 minutes..”
“Oh, wow.”
“He made up for it though!” You defended, “He took me out to dinner, it wasn’t really a date because his friend was there too, but still!” Yuki just hummed seeming amused in your story.
“Okay, i’ll wait another 10 minutes max with you then, but if he still hasn’t responded or shown up, we’re leaving.” You yawned in response, not feeling tired because it was late, but instead because this week had really exhausted you with class work. “Can’t we make it 15?”
“Listen, he’s already done something like this before, and you’re tired, just tell him not to show up and talk it out later, but if I was you i’d go and take the fattest nap ever first.”
Tumblr media
Megumi sighed after finally finishing his project presentation for his Photo Seminar class. He really needed to try on this assignment, as his last one wasn’t the best. He didn’t fail, but he wasn’t anywhere near where he wanted or needed to be. Stressing over it he was glad to have finally finished his preparation, feeling a weight being lifted off him that is until he checked the time to be 6:38, then it was replaced with panic, remembering he had promised to meet you around six today. He looked for his phone, only to find it and see a text from you already saying you left 7 minutes ago.

DMBJ Small-Med Exchange 2025
Tumblr media
Hi and welcome to the Daomu Biji Small-Med Ships Exchange, an exchange for DMBJ ships where more than 3% of English-language authors have posted works on AO3.
In this exchange, participants will be anonymously matched to create gifts for one another during a seven week creating period.
This exchange is open to all the DMBJ canons - if it’s DMBJ, then it’s eligible! It will take place on AO3, so you need an AO3 account to participate – if you don’t have one, you can request an invitation code here. If there isn’t enough time, no worries - contact the mod here on tumblr or on discord and we can send you an invitation!
Here is the AO3 link. Please read this post carefully before signing up.
👓 Schedule
May 4: Signups close May 11: Assignments out June 29: Assignments due July 6: Works reveals July 13: Creator reveals & treats deadline

⚔️ Guidelines
1. In your request please state which ship or ships you would enjoy, as well as which form of media. You can, but don’t have to, add tropes, prompts or ideas you want included. If you do not want a specific ship, trope, or form of media please add that to your Do Not Want list.
2. Your creation must focus on your recipient’s requested ship, or one of their requested ships if they have nominated multiple ones. While unrequested background ships are fine, unless listed as a Do Not Want, the focused ship must be one of the requested ones.
3. Filling any specifying prompts is not obligatory, but try to create something you honestly think your recipient will enjoy!
4. You must not include anything that your recipient has listed as a DNW (Do Not Want). This goes for treats as well. If the recipient has given additional information regarding other media (music genre, avoidance of certain triggers for videos for example), please adhere to these as well.
5. The minimum requirements for the gifts are 300 words for fic, one sketch on unlined paper for art (traditional or digital; no photo edits), or 30 seconds for a video. For the assignments fics, art or videos are allowed; for treats any form of media is acceptable. If you want to do a podfic, let me know so I can adjust the settings accordingly.
6. After the matching is done, all the requests will be made visible to everyone to allow for treating! There are no minimum requirements for treats (but remember to mind your recipient’s Do Not Wants!).
7. Since this is an anonymous exchange, please refrain from discussing your assignment in public. After the works are revealed, there’ll be one week when the creators remain anonymous before the creator reveals.
8. If at any point you need to drop out, just click on the “default” button on your AO3 assignment page; we’ll find a pinch hitter to create a gift for your recipient instead. If you need an extension to finish your gift, contact the mods (on tumblr or discord) before the deadline.
9. Most importantly: Have fun and be excellent to each other!
🐍 Sign-Up Information
Sign-ups will take place here on AO3, ending on May 4th. There, you can fill out details about your request and offer. You can edit your sign-up at any time until the sign-ups close on May 4th.
When signing up, you can choose fandom and genre tags, as well as specify any additional details.
You will have to select the DMBJ canon you’re interested in creating and receiving a gift in:
Novels: Daomu Biji / The Grave Robbers’ Chronicles (including spinoffs, side stories, and extras)
TV: The Lost Tomb 1
TV: The Lost Tomb 2 Explore with the Note
TV: The Lost Tomb 2.5 Heavenly Palace on the Clouds
TV: Ultimate Note
TV: Tibetan Sea Flower (Adventure behind the Bronze Door)
TV: Sha Hai (and spin off movies)
TV: The Lost Tomb Reboot/The Sound of Providence (and spin offs)
TV: The Mystic Nine (and spin off movies)
Movies: Time Raiders, Conjuring Curse, Misty Creed
This does not mean that you’re limited to requesting or creating a work during the canon timelines for those series/books. It’s just to mark which canons you’re familiar with to allow for easier matching: some participants might have a preference for a particular canon era, some might not be familiar with all the versions. You still have to choose your preferred canon eras even if you want to create or receive an AU.
You will also have to specify genres you’re interested in
Action/Adventure
Alternate Universe
Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence
Angst
Canon Compliant
Crack
Dark
Domesticity
Fluff
Humor
Hurt/Comfort
Porn With Plot
Porn Without Plot
You can include requests for other media forms if you have any, for example music genres you like or if you prefer a certain art style.
🍜 Requests
Fandom - you have to choose at least one. If you’re willing to receive a gift in any canon era, you can just click “Any”!
Genre - you have to choose at least three tags.
Ratings - you have to choose at least one. This will help your gifter know what you like and are comfortable with when they're coming up with ideas to fill your prompts.
Warnings - you have to choose at least one. This does not mean that you WILL receive a gift with warnings, it just lets your gifter know if you are comfortable receiving a gift with warnings or not.
Description - here’s where you can go into more detail about your perfect exchange gift! You can include:
General Likes: your gifter may, but doesn’t have to, include them. This isn’t a place for detailed prompts, just general themes you enjoy, like getting together or established relationship.
DNW (Do Not Wants): things that your creator must not include - squicks, triggers, characters or things that you simply don’t like. You don’t owe anyone an explanation about why something is a DNW, and DNW are not meant to be taken personally. Just list the things you don’t like, “DNW: X, Y.”
Please list if you have any audio or visual triggers (such as flashing lights). This could be in your DNW or could be separate. Please also list song/music DNWs (e.g. "please no lyrics that use the n-word" or "please no lyrics in [specific language]" or “please no [specific genre/s of music]”).
Prompts/specific ideas: if you have any prompts, you can also put them here! You can be as general or as detailed as you’d like, but remember that while your creator will try to make the best gift for you, filling a specific prompt is not obligatory. You can include a crossover prompt (with other DMBJ verse or other canons), but make sure it’s not the only prompt you have.
For vid prompts, please list things like genres/styles of music you like (or like in videos), vibes/tone/theme you’d like to see (e.g. “angsty amnesiac Xiaoge”, “Fuba crack”, etc.), and things like that.
If you chose novels as one of your fandoms, you can use this field to list the ones you’re familiar with, such as ‘Books 1-4′ , ‘main series only′, ‘main series + specific extras’, etc.
The requests will be made publicly visible after matching is done, so that others will be able to create treats (additional gifts) based on them!
🍜 Offers
Fandom - you have to choose at least one. If you can create works for any canon era, you can choose “Any”!
Genre - you have to choose at least three tags.
Ratings - you have to choose at least one. This will help matching what people are comfortable creating with what people are comfortable requesting.
Warnings - you have to choose at least one. This does not mean that you have to create a gift with warnings, it's just for helping to match what people are comfortable creating with what people are comfortable receiving.
Description - in this field, you can tell us more about the kind of works you like to create, for example if you really prefer established relationship, feel best with certain kinds of AUs, or like writing darkfic. We’ll take it into account when matching! By the same token, if there’s something you really don’t want to write, let us know here as well.
If you chose novels as one of your fandoms, you can use this field to list the ones you’re familiar with, such as ‘Books 1-4′ , ‘main series only′, ‘main series + specific extras’, etc.
In the optional details of your offer, you can also name people you don’t want to be matched to, for example your regular beta, and we will do our best to avoid matching you!
The offers will only ever be visible to the mods; never to anyone else.
🐍 Your Assignment
You will be matched to create a gift for someone who requested at least one of the fandoms that you offer, with as many similar genres/likes as possible. This exchange will be hand-matched, after using AO3’s matching algorithm to first generate the potential matches.
If you have any issues when you receive your assignment (you have a question about it or think there’s an issue with it), contact the mods as soon as possible. Do not contact your recipient on your own.
You will have to create a gift for your recipient, fulfilling the minimum requirements of fandom, genre, and ship, and avoiding any stated “do not wants”. Filling exact prompts is optional, but try to create something matching your recipient’s likes that they will enjoy!
You will have to post your gift to the exchange AO3 collection before the due date, using the “gift this work to” option to give it to your recipient. Your work will remain in the collection only visible to you and the mods until the reveals happen. Remember to tag your work appropriately or use the “chose not to warn” warning.
💚 Treating
Treats are additional gifts for the participants! To allow for treating, the requests will be made visible when matching is done. You can create treats at any time until the creator reveals! There are no minimum requirements for treats, and every form of media is allowed in addition to fic, art, and vids. As with assignments, you have to respect the recipient’s Do Not Wants, and while the optional details are optional, try to create something fitting the listed likes. One treat can only be gifted to one person. For the assignments fics, art or videos are allowed; for treats any form of media is acceptable. You can do anything you want if it isn't on a DNW list.
🖊️ Pinch Hits
In case someone needs to drop out, we will look for a pinch hitter to complete their assignment. Pinch hits will be posted to this tumblr and the DMBJ Yucun discord server.
🕑 Extensions
If you think you can finish your assignment, but you need a few days more, you can always ask for an extension. Please contact the mod via tumblr or discord.
🗒️ Multi-Chapter Fics
If you are writing a multi-chapter fic for the exchange and don’t want to drop the entire fic at once, these are the posting guidelines for it:
Multi-chapter fics that are assignment fills must be fully written and at least the first chapter posted by the assignment deadline, ready for the fic reveals.
All chapters of the fic must be posted by the time of creator reveals and end of treating on July 13th.
Multi-chapter fics that are treats can begin to be posted at any time, but must also be fully posted by July 13th.
🐍 Other Important Information
Make sure to check the email you use on AO3 frequently during the exchange, as it will be the primary means of communication. We might contact you if there is an issue with your sign-up or if your gift creator has a question for you.
If you’d rather be contacted on your discord or tumblr, please leave your handle in the offer section of your sign-up.
