30 day manga challenge
Day 02 - Your favorite manga: Imawa no Kuni no Alice
Tumblr media
Runner ups (In no particular order): Konjiki no Gash Bell Liar Game Gantz
This was a very hard decision for me. I have a lot of favourites like the typical ones everyone reads: One punch man, Assassination Classroom, Attack on Titan, etc. But what differentiated this manga from the others is that I really want to collect this series. MORE THAN ANY OTHER SERIES I HAVE READ. Plus, you know the feeling you have when you see a manga update, and you drop everything to read it? This manga was my priority.
Summary:
Arisu, Karube, and Segawa, a trio of high school delinquents, are bored with their current lives. During a firework celebration, Arisu wishes that he could live in a different world which would be more exciting for him. As such, his wish was granted, and the three were transported into a seemingly post-apocalyptic-like parallel world. After stepping into what seems to be an empty festival, they are greeted by a woman who tells them that they have already "entered their game". After clearing the game, she reveals to them that, in Borderlands, they must play games to survive. Source: Wiki.
Added details: Each player has a visa which indicates how many days they have left in Borderland. In order to increase their visa, players must participate in the games. The number of days granted to the players vary based on the difficulty of the game. There are 4 types of games. They are divided based on the suits of playing cards: Spade, Diamond, Heart, and Clover, each representing a different game genre. Spade is strength based, diamond is intelligence, heart is psychological, and clover is balanced. The games also vary in how many players can enter and how many players can pass.
Genre: Tragedy, Psychological, Action, Horror, Drama, Supernatural, Shounen
This manga is more psychological and action based rather than horror to be honest (in comparison to gantz). And it recently finished! Which is an added bonus since some people prefer completed mangas.

Alice in Borderland by Asou Haro
I’m not going to say it’s good, but it’s yet another “teenager in a death game” manga. Slightly better than average?
