Purple and Green Frills + Style With a Smile Link Up
How’s your week going so far? Have you been shopping the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales? I’ve been fairly restrained and only bought a few things for the house and some nail polish! I find it a bit overwhelming with the onslaught of marketing emails. It pays to be discerning with the sales and only buy quality items that you’ll love and use for a long time. Which brings me onto my gorgeous new…

Castles in the dawn
She threw back the shutters and shivered as gooseprickles rose along her arms. There were clouds massing in the eastern sky, pierced by shafts of sunlight. They look like two huge castles afloat in the morning sky. Sansa could see their walls of tumbled stone, their mighty keeps and barbicans. Wispy banners swirled from atop their towers and reached for the fast-fading stars. The sun was coming up behind them, and she watched them go from black to grey to a thousand shades of rose and gold and crimson. Soon the wind mushed them together, and there was only one castle where there had been two. (ASOS, Sansa IV)
*****
The snow fell and the castle rose. Two walls ankle-high, the inner taller than the outer. Towers and turrets, keeps and stairs, a round kitchen, a square armory, the stables along the inside of the west wall. It was only a castle when she began, but before very long Sansa knew it was Winterfell. She found twigs and fallen branches beneath the snow and broke off the ends to make the trees for the godswood. For the gravestones in the lichyard she used bits of bark. Soon her gloves and her boots were crusty white, her hands were tingling, and her feet were soaked and cold, but she did not care. The castle was all that mattered. [...] Dawn stole into her garden like a thief. The grey of the sky grew lighter still, and the trees and shrubs turned a dark green beneath their stoles of snow. A few servants came out and watched her for a time, but she paid them no mind and they soon went back inside where it was warmer. (ASOS, Sansa VII)

Sansa Stark appreciation month, day 1~ Flowers
The name ‘Sansa’ has Sanskrit origins and means ‘charm and praise’ so which better flowers to identify with Sansa than the ranunculus (which symbolises elegance and charm) and the bluestar (which symbolises radiance and praise)?
Flowers I associate with Sansa's character
Elegance, perseverance, charm ~ elegant, persevering, charming
Elegance, courtesy (Ranunculus)
Sansa was a lady at three, always so courteous and eager to please. She loved nothing so well as tales of knightly valor. Men would say she had my look, but she will grow into a woman far more beautiful than I ever was, you can see that. I often sent away her maid so I could brush her hair myself. She had auburn hair, lighter than mine, and so thick and soft . . . the red in it would catch the light of the torches and shine like copper. — Catelyn VII, ACOK
Joffrey frowned. Sansa felt that she ought to say something. What was it that Septa Mordane used to tell her? A lady's armor is courtesy, that was it. She donned her armor and said, "I'm sorry my lady mother took you captive, my lord." — Sansa I, ACOK
Perseverance (Ranunculus)
"Thank you, sweet lady." Ser Dontos lurched clumsily to his feet, and brushed earth and leaves from his knees. "Your lord father was as true a man as the realm has ever known, but I stood by and let them slay him. I said nothing, did nothing . . . and yet, when Joffrey would have slain me, you spoke up. Lady, I have never been a hero, no Ryam Redwyne or Barristan the Bold. I've won no tourneys, no renown in war . . . but I was a knight once, and you have helped me remember what that meant. My life is a poor thing, but it is yours." — Sansa II, ACOK
"The night's first traitors," the queen said, "but not the last, I fear. Have Ser Ilyn see to them, and put their heads on pikes outside the stables as a warning." As they left, she turned to Sansa. "Another lesson you should learn, if you hope to sit beside my son. Be gentle on a night like this and you'll have treasons popping up all about you like mushrooms after a hard rain. The only way to keep your people loyal is to make certain they fear you more than they do the enemy."
"I will remember, YourGrace," said Sansa, though she had always heard that love was a surer route to the people's loyalty than fear. If I am ever a queen, I'll make them love me. — Sansa VI, ACOK
The snow drifted down and down, all in ghostly silence, and lay thick and unbroken on the ground. All color had fled the world outside. It was a place of whites and blacks and greys. White towers and white snow and white statues, black shadows and black trees, the dark grey sky above. A pure world, Sansa thought. I do not belong here. Yet she stepped out all the same. Her boots tore ankle-deep holes into the smooth white surface of the snow, yet made no sound. Sansa drifted past frosted shrubs and thin dark trees, and wondered if she were still dreaming. Drifting snowflakes brushed her face as light as lover's kisses, and melted on her cheeks. At the center of the garden, beside the statue of the weeping woman that lay broken and half-buried on the ground, she turned her face up to the sky and closed her eyes. She could feel the snow on her lashes, taste it on her lips. It was the taste of Winterfell. The taste of innocence. The taste of dreams. — Sansa VII, ASOS
Charm (Ranunculus)
Sansa knew the name, and now the courtesies that Septa Mordane had taught her over the years came back to her. "The Lord Commander of the Kingsguard," she said, "and councillor to Robert our king and to Aerys Targaryen before him. The honor is mine, good knight. Even in the far north, the singers praise the deeds of Barristan the Bold." The green knight laughed again.
"Barristan the Old, you mean. Don't flatter him too sweetly, child, he thinks overmuch of himself already." He smiled at her. "Now, wolfgirl, if you can put a name to me as well, then I must concede that you are truly our Hand's daughter."
Joffrey stiffened beside her.
"Have a care how you address my betrothed."
"I can answer," Sansa said quickly, to quell her prince's anger. She smiled at the green knight. "Your helmet bears golden antlers, my lord. The stag is the sigil of the royal House. King Robert has two brothers. By your extreme youth, you can only be Renly Baratheon, Lord of Storm's End and councillor to the king, and so I name you."Ser Barristan chuckled. "By his extreme youth, he can only be a prancing jackanapes, and so I name him."
There was general laughter, led by Lord Renly himself. The tension of a few moments ago was gone, and Sansa was beginning to feel comfortable — Sansa I, AGOT
Tyrion led Sansa around the yard, to perform the necessary courtesies. She is good at this, he thought, as he watched her tell Lord Gyles that his cough was sounding better, compliment Elinor Tyrell on her gown, and question Jalabhar Xho about wedding customs in the Summer Isles. His cousin Ser Lancel had been brought down by Ser Kevan, the first time he'd left his sickbed since the battle. He looks ghastly. Lancel's hair had turned white and brittle, and he was thin as a stick. Without his father beside him holding him up, he would surely have collapsed. Yet when Sansa praised his valor and said how good it was to see him getting strong again, both Lancel and Ser Kevan beamed. She would have made Joffrey a good queen and a better wife if he'd had the sense to love her. — Tyrion VIII, ASOS
Radiance, resilience, praise/filled with faith ~ Radiant, resilient, religious
Radiance (Bluestar)
Sansa, two years older, drew the crown prince, Joffrey Baratheon. He was twelve, younger than Jon or Robb, but taller than either, to Jon's vast dismay. Prince Joffrey had his sister's hair and his mother's deep green eyes. A thick tangle of blond curls dripped down past his golden choker and high velvet collar.
Sansa looked radiant as she walked beside him, but Jon did not like Joffrey's pouty lips or the bored, disdainful way he looked at Winterfell's Great Hall. — Jon I, AGOT
Resilience (Bluestar)
"We share that view, sweet child." Tyrion turned to Sansa. "My lady, I am sorry for your losses. Truly, the gods are cruel."
Sansa could not think of a word to say to him. How could he be sorry for her losses? Was he mocking her? It wasn't the gods who'd been cruel, it was Joffrey. — Sansa I, ACOK
(...) "Not that I wanted him to stay, mind you. I had Grand Maester Pycelle and an army of midwives, and I had my brother. When they told Jaime he was not allowed in the birthing room, he smiled and asked which of them proposed to keep him out. Joffrey will show you no such devotion, I fear. You could thank your sister for that, if she weren't dead. He's never been able to forget that day on the Trident when you saw her shame him, so he shames you in turn. You're stronger than you seem, though. I expect you'll survive a bit of humiliation. I did. You may never love the king, but you'll love his children." — Sansa IV, ACOK
Brave. Sansa took a deep breath. I am a Stark, yes, I can be brave. They were all looking at her, the way they had looked at her that day in the yard when Ser Boros Blount had torn her clothes off. It had been the Imp who saved her from a beating that day, the same man who was waiting for her now. He is not so bad as the rest of them, she told herself. "I'll go." — Sansa III, ACOK
My skin has turned to porcelain, to ivory, to steel. — Sansa V, ASOS
Religious (Bluestar)
Besides, even if she could leave the castle, where would she go? It was enough that she could walk in the yard, pick flowers in Myrcella's garden, and visit the sept to pray for her father. Sometimes she prayed in the godswood as well, since the Starks kept the old gods. — Sansa V, AGOT
By the time she reached the godswood, the noises had faded to a faint rattle of steel and a distant shouting. Sansa pulled her cloak tighter. The air was rich with the smells of earth and leaf. Lady would have liked this place, she thought. There was something wild about a godswood; even here, in the heart of the castle at the heart of the city, you could feel the old gods watching with a thousand unseen eyes. Sansa had favored her mother's gods over her father's. She loved the statues, the pictures in leaded glass, the fragrance of burning incense, the septons with their robes and crystals, the magical play of the rainbows over altars inlaid with mother-of-pearl and onyx and lapis lazuli. Yet she could not deny that the godswood had a certain power too. Especially by night. Help me, she prayed, send me a friend, a true knight to champion me . . . — Sansa II, ACOK
He swore. A solemn oath, before the gods. "Then . . . I will put myself in your hands, ser." — Sansa II, ACOK
Sansa knew most of the hymns, and followed along on those she did not know as best she could. She sang along with grizzled old serving men and anxious young wives, with serving girls and soldiers, cooks and falconers, knights and knaves, squires and spit boys and nursing mothers. She sang with those inside the castle walls and those without, sang with all the city. She sang for mercy, for the living and the dead alike, for Bran and Rickon and Robb, for her sister Arya and her bastard brother Jon Snow, away off on the Wall. She sang for her mother and her father, for her grandfather Lord Hoster and her uncle Edmure Tully, for her friend Jeyne Poole, for old drunken King Robert, for Septa Mordane and Ser Dontos and Jory Cassel and Maester Luwin, for all the brave knights and soldiers who would die today, and for the children and the wives who would mourn them, and finally, toward the end, she even sang for Tyrion the Imp and for the Hound. — Sansa V, ACOK
There are gods, she told herself, and there are true knights too. All the stories can't be lies. — Sansa IV, ACOK
"What do you pray for, Sansa?"
I pray for Robb's victory and Joffrey's death . . . and for home. For Winterfell. "I pray for an end to the fighting." — Sansa III, ACOK
Old snow cloaked the courtyard, and icicles hung down like crystal spears from the terraces and towers. The Eyrie was built of fine white stone, and winter's mantle made it whiter still. So beautiful, Alayne thought, so impregnable. She could not love this place, no matter how she tried. Even before the guards and serving men had made their descent, the castle had seemed as empty as a tomb, and more so when Petyr Baelish was away. No one sang up there, not since Marillion. No one ever laughed too loud. Even the gods were silent. The Eyrie boasted a sept, but no septon; a godswood, but no heart tree. No prayers are answered here, she often thought, though some days she felt so lonely she had to try. — Alayne II, AFFC
Sansa was the first child of Ned and Cat born in WF and by the time the story begins Sansa is eleven and summer has lasted nine years, she either was born at the end of winter or at the begging of spring, IMO it happened more on the beginning of spring. In any case it happened in that time in which the world entire is going through rebirth as winters leaves the step to spring and that is beautiful.

Requested Little Mix Engagement Inspired Outfits
Leigh
PRETTYLITTLETHING WHITE SCUBA HIGH NECK TIE WAIST JUMPSUIT: £21. A engagement party can be a tricky affair, You want to look as good as possible but you don`t want to go over the top and outshine the bride. So we have put together a few outfits that will hopefully maybe inspire you or help you make that final decision. For each girl I went with a different look and alternative - Not everyone wants to go in a dress and you also have to think about the many factors such as comfort, Price and weather. So with Leigh I decided to go for a jumpsuit and I posted below the jumpsuit I was inspired by when she wore a pink sequin blush jumpsuit for a appearance many years ago. We wanted to go down that same route but keep the embellishment to a minimum otherwise it would`ve looked like we would be off to a Christmas party afterwards. Unfortunately, Not many embellished jumpsuits are available at the moment or none that suited the event so we decided to go for a white jumpsuit instead and we went with this one from PrettyLittleThing. I know for a fact this is a popular item as it has been on PLT`s website for ages and they keep restocking due to popular demand. The jumpsuit is very flattering...The long white fitted flare legs gives people the illusion of longer legs, the top half features a ruched effect where it synches in topped off by a tie up, I love this jumpsuit it is so modern, classy and trendy. The side boob might not be to everyone's taste but with a few pins and boob tape you`ll be in good hands. I went with the idea there may be kids at this engagement party so you would want to keep it demure and mature and not upstage the bride, The colour against the sun would be out of this world - You would radiate. This jumpsuit comes in many other colours and patterns such as floral, Green, Red, Black and Orange.
Lulu`s KATHERINE ROSE GOLD METALLIC RHINESTONE MULES: $99. These arent the original shoes as featured above, the shoes became out of stock over night. But I originally went with rose gold embellished perspex mules in case you wanted to wear something different and because the jumpsuit is white and to add a bit of flair and colour to the outfit you could do that with the accessories and the shoes. I went back to find some more rose gold mules and no where had them in stock, The only place was Lulu`s and yes I am aware of the price.
ASOS DESIGN headband with graduating pearls in gold tone: £12. I added this in case you wanted to go extra. Pearl`s in hair accessories has become a big trend lately as you will see later. I thought this was such a cute, quirky accessory.
River Island Rose gold boxy mini cross body bag: £18. I did want a simple rose gold clutch that wasn`t too out there or large but yet again hardly no one had one. So we went with this one from River Island instead which I think will do the job nicely.
PrettyLittleThing ROSE GOLD 80MM LARGE HOOP EARRINGS: £2. Lastly, Just because Leigh wears hoops a lot we had to add them like I do on every post. For those eagle eyed viewers you will notice this is the same pair of earrings I featured in my last inspired. I don`t wear earrings myself but £2 for a pair of good sustainable earrings? What more could you ask for. We`re also continuing on with adding colour with these earrings. Of course you could always do it the other way round by wearing a colourful outfit and then downplaying it with mutual shoes and accessories. Don`t forget it`s always a good idea to experiment and mix and match.
Jade
ASOS Dusty Daze jacquard blazer co-ord: £75. Secretly hoping this suit I chose for Jade will steal all of your hearts, How beautiful is this? The print of this, the colour and the cuteness is enough to make me buy it. I simply went for this cause I imagined right away what this would look like against the backdrop of the sun, You will glow. I chose a suit because Jade is fan of a suit very often and we`re also mixing it up and giving you options. The trousers are cropped giving you slimmer ankles, The suit is fitted to make you feel comfortable and confident. I know the price is a little pricey but imagine what this would look like in photos and you would definitely receive a lot of compliments. If you don`t like this suit then I have chosen many other style of suits and colours for you that would work well against the sun and at a engagement party such as orange, Neon Orange, Green, Darker Orange, Purple, Blue.
ASOS Dusty Daze straight leg jacquard trousers co-ord: £55. I always think of a suit as a alternative for someone such as a tomboy who doesn`t like wearing dresses or skirts. Wearing a suit you can feel just as sexy and confident and not to mention feel like a boss too.....Even though you`re not in an office.
River Island White cross back cami top: £16. For the top we have to keep it simple as the suit is doing the talking here, Put in a neon top and it`s too busy so try and keep the colours mutual to break it up.
River Island Gold embellished shoulder bag: £30. I didn`t want to go for a pink clutch as it would clutch against the suit, So I didn`t really have much to go on and my colour coordination is terrible. So we went with this bag from River Island which is actually similar to a bag Jade has from Topshop.
H&M Long Earrings: $9.99. Another extra if you didn`t want to feel bare, We went with these hammered effect earrings from H&M. These have exploded onto the scene lately especially the gold coloured ones. We also managed to find another pair in another style here.
ASOS DesignB London rose gold hairband: £6. As usaul as I was searching for outfits the inspiration flowed and ideas was coming at me from every angle. So to go with the confident, empowering, boss look we have going on we thought we would add this rose gold hairband. Slick your hair back into a low ponytail before adding this gem.
PrettyLittleThing CLOVER BLACK METALLIC STRAP HEELED SANDALS: £18
Jesy
River Island Lime cigarette trousers: £36. I know this won`t be too everyone's taste but neon/fluro colours have also exploded onto the scene lately and the girls have been seen wearing it too and to be honest with you I got stuck with what to put for Jesy, You can`t really go to a engagement party dressed in all black now can you? Talk about a party spoiler. But we eventually got there and we came up with this. Can you guess where I got my inspiration from? Jesy rocked up to Leigh`s swimwear launch in a fluro number and she rocked it well, Very well. So we thought we would hop on that bandwagon and hey gusto here we are. I`d just like to point out that there is a difference between neons and limes and fluros..One is either brighter and the other is either dark, Found that out yesterday. Jesy wore neon green designer tailored trousers which complimented her legs so well, So we picked up these trousers from River Island which comes in a co-ord.
River Island Bright yellow boyfriend blazer: £65. Don`t be fooled when it says bright yellow it`s the same colour as the trousers. This structured blazer would give your body definition and that confident/sexy feeling. This jacket is not only for a engagement party but it`s so versatile too, You can step out in black jeans, black boots and a black top whilst going out for dinner or you can wear it casually with jeans, trainers and a white cami. Great investment this jacket.
PRETTYLITTLETHING WHITE UNDERWIRED CAGE DETAIL LACE BODY: £19. Because the co-ord does the talking and is so bright it could blind you we wanted to break up the colour in the middle with something white and we went with a bodysuit. Lace bodysuits have popped up onto the scene for the last year or so now and are everywhere. You can wear them for anything. I think the reason these have become so popular is because they are no longer seen as a lingerie product and more of a product you can wear everyday now. However if you don`t like the lace effect then we have picked up another bodysuit from MissGuided which is much more simpler here
Boohoo Patent Court Shoes: £19. Again the suit does the talking and you don`t want anything else clashing with it, So we kept it simple with the shoes and went with these nude patent ones from Boohoo.
PRETTYLITTLETHING SILVER 100MM HOOP EARRINGS: £2 Yes, These earrings again. But this time we went with a pair of silver earrings just because we think these would look great against the white.
ASOS DESIGN tassel clutch bag: £12
Perrie
ASOS DESIGN Petite 3D embellished crop top midi dress: £38. I`ve wanted to use this dress for so long in one of my inspireds I love it so much. I can see how it would be more of a race day/cocktail party in your garden/wedding dress but I think it could also pass as a engagement party dress as well. The colour on this is amazing, it blows my mind. I think it`s so cute because of the length and the way it is structured with the gems on the neck. You can get down to a tune or two with the skirt not being so fitted and tight, You can let go and be free and feel the wind in your hair as you dance around to your favourite songs. This dress also comes in other colours such as taupe and purple
ASOS DesignB London faux pearl detail large hair clip 2 pack: £8. These were what I was talking about earlier. Hair clips/slides have POPPED up massively onto the scene, They are everywhere! You can get them small, big, medium in whatever styles and colours they are everywhere, you cannot miss them. So we hopped on board that train and included these pearl hair clips. I did notice that pearl hair accessories are big this summer so we have a range of different styles and colours to choose from in a moment. But this would go perfect against your dress and you would look a million dollars. The other suggestions we got were another set of pearl slides, Rectangle, Hair slides.
PrettyLittleThing CLOVER SILVER METALLIC STRAP HEELED SANDALS: £18. As i`ve said before the dress does the talking and you don`t want everything else to be busy, So we kept it busy with a pair of silver heels from PrettyLittleThing.
New Look Off White Faux Pearl Beaded Bag: £20. I originally wanted to go with a pearl clutch, But I soon found myself surrounded by these beauties. These have become so popular this summer, They are bang on trend. They are cute, quirky, chic and classic little bag. This bag is so unique and different and would make you stand out. They do come in other colours but we thought white would look great against the dress. We did have trouble finding one as most are sold out everywhere but we managed to there in the end with this one from New Look. However, We also managed to find one from here

(Hey guys! This is @and-not-to-yield‘s fashion consult. Here’s the link to the master post of what I offer. Pretty cool, right?)
Okay, let’s get started!
Things you like
Masculine influences: I say influences because while it’s obvious you like menswear, you always seem to gravitate towards looks that complicate the straightest reading it. So yes, you go for the high-waisted trousers with the sharp pleat, but they’re made of velvet, or showcased by a satin lining in the coat the model is also wearing. Or a button down double-breasted shirt with cuffed sleeves so sheer that the model’s narrow waist and bra are visible. I think you like the cleanliness and geometry of traditional men’s fashion, but there’s a desire to marry it with your body in a way that doesn’t simply read as “woman in menswear”. To that point--
Luxurious (or luxe-looking) materials: in terms of fabric, you are such a glamour hound. Velvet, satin, sheer sheer, tiny pleats that draw the eye, the enormous swooning flutter of every inch of that mcqueen gown. You’re actually in a solid few seasons for that, I’ve seen more romantic fabrics in the past few years than I have at any time in my life. My advice would be that if you’re going to pick something up in silk or velvet or cashmere, make sure it looks well made. All of these materials can be imitated well, and we should all seek to spend wisely on our wardrobes, but there is a world of difference between this and this. The former flows in such a way that your eyes aren’t drawn to the little tucks and runs that sometimes come with inexpensive satin. The latter does...not. So inspect it to see if it puckers, or how flat the stitching lays, or--dear god--if it sheds. Luxurious fabrics don’t have to be expensive, but it really kills the feel if they don’t look expensive.
An understated, sophisticated sensuality that comes from a strategic baring of skin: I’ve thought a lot about the black dress that you included in your photos. It’s very covered up, but the garment itself is still magnetic. It fits very close to her body, hugs every line, and your eyes are drawn by the touches of white at her wrist and neck, which makes your attention rest on those little swatches of skin. It’s inviting up to a point, and has a severity that I think gets a lot of people pretty hot under the collar. Showing skin in unexpected but mature ways is a great skill to master in your early 20s.
I think you like garments with a little three dimensional pop to them too. A lot of the clothes you sent me sort of play with depth. The McQueen dress is floating into the space of the viewer no matter where they’re standing, but we can go with some subtler examples too. Look at the raised jeweled handle set in the dagger on that sweater, or the way the bodice of the grey dress is set deeper against the model’s body than the sheer shoulder panels. I have the stylist’s luck of having actually met you, so I can say that this is a great instinct on your part. You’re a slender woman of medium height, which gives you a lot of room to peacock with your clothing’s dimensions without the details starting to get lost.
Okay, let’s do two sample outfits + pieces!
The outfit with the jeans and turtleneck is easy to imitate, but it’s also very easy to dress up. Let’s start with the jeans: keep those exactly the same, that wash, that crop especially, but ditch the socks and loafers for some silk mules. Maybe these Young Pope looking motherfuckers. (true confessions I love these shoes and if my reccing them makes them sell out in my size I will fire myself into the sun). These are also good, and add a different kind of visual interest if you want to go with a very simple top, which I am about to recommend. This white blouse is perfect for you. It’s silk, menswear-influenced, and has eye-catching, three dimensional sleeves. Toss that on top of those cropped jeans + burgundy mules + a simple belt (with a round buckle to echo the buckles in the Young Pope shoes), grab some dark red lipstick, and you’re done!
This is about taking the different things you like, and making them a part of a cohesive outfit. You don’t have to take different days to be Jeans Girl or Silk Girl. You can be both, if the mood strikes you.
I love the sheer blouses for you, and honestly I just wanted to find a dupe of the one you sent me that you can afford. You have lovely skin and great coloring for deep red or black, so here’s both picks. Pair it with a pencil skirt and a bralette, or these really smart suit-inspired green trousers. (they come in white too, which I think the black blouse would kill with). Short heels with cropped pants are like my favorite thing right now, and I just really like the understated sex appeal of sheer top + relaxed trousers + kitten heeled booties (with raised detail!) for fall.
Aaaaand miscellaneous pieces:
This blush robe coat has those great strong lines you like so much, but the color is soft, and a good neutral; you could take it in any direction you want. Also I think robe coats tend to be more visually interesting than most straight up-and-down coats with buttons, but that’s just me. It’s also a bit over budget, but I know that for many people coats are investments that last several years, so I thought I’d include it.
Delicate pleats, a little drama, and a raised texture on the back and front: I can see you wearing this dress every single day. The open back is appealing without looking too naked.
Also you need a sweater to wear over those cropped jeans! This is great in all colors, and the flared sleeves once again add dimension. I think it would be fun to wear some patterned loafers with this too: like these, or these. It adds a little punch to the simplicity of the sweater.
Whew! Well, there you go, shopping trip completed, achievement gained! A suggestion: even if you don’t buy any of these items, I’d recommend hanging on to them and to the pictures you sent me, just to cross-reference what your tastes might look like in the online ready-to-wear world.
I hope this helped, and happy dressing!

32 Budget Summer Pieces Worth Buying
http://fashion-trendin.com/32-budget-summer-pieces-worth-buying/
32 Budget Summer Pieces Worth Buying
Without a little careful planning and consideration, attempting to stock a new-season wardrobe entirely from scratch is about as much fun as going to the doctor for a prostate exam. Especially when parting with significant amounts of cash.
Fortunately, we’ve done it for you (the careful planning bit, not the prostate exam) by compiling 32 of the best budget buys no man should be without this summer. Limber up those fingers and get ready to click ‘add to basket’.
Printed Swim Shorts
It goes without saying that swim shorts are essential holiday gear, but just because they’re only cracked out a few times a year doesn’t mean they deserve any less attention. This season, the best examples go after just that.
Of course, there will always be a place in the male wardrobe for tailored swimmers, but if ever there’s a time for a playful print, it’s on the beach.
Topman: £18.00
Retro Running Sneakers
If your style is more Rick Ross than Mr Ripley, we’ve got good news for your feet this season.
While we can’t imagine minimalist sneakers falling fully out of favour any time soon, running-style sneakers are picking up pace, offering a low-commitment way to tap into the retro trend.
Zara: £39.99
Lightweight, Unstructured Blazer
Blazers aren’t solely reserved for special occasions. Mixing them up with chinos and T-shirts will renew even the most tired of wardrobes.
Take your cues from the Italians and opt for an unstructured design in a lightweight, breathable fabric, which will ensure your armpits stay as fresh as your suit.
Mango: £59.99
Breton Top
Originally designed as a tribute to Napoleon (with 21 stripes to mark each of his victories), today the Breton stripe top is a triumph all of its own in the style world.
Perfect for channelling the alluring swag of the French Riviera, whether worn with long sleeves or short, as a T-shirt or as a sweatshirt, it’s a piece that never fails to look good with dark denim.
John Lewis: £19.00
Sunglasses
Nothing else offers an instant upgrade quite like a pair of sunglasses. Better yet, high UV protection (and high style) doesn’t have to come with a high price tag.
Providing they carry the CE mark (a European standard of UV protection), the examples found on the high street will do the same job as luxury names, and all for less than a round of drinks.
Weekday: £12.00
Cotton Pique Polo Shirt
For Wimbledon-worthy gear without going full-on Federer, opt for a cotton pique polo shirt this summer.
The button-down style sits happily on menswear’s centre court, capable of serving smarter looks just as well as off-duty wins. Game, set and match.
Uniqlo: £14.90
Duffle Bag
Monogrammed leather holdalls are great and everything, but they’re also expensive. Opt for a sporty duffle bag instead and save yourself some cash for the beach club.
Simple block colours can flit from nine-to-five to weekend away, all without looking like a Kardashian abroad.
Mi-Pac: £27.99
Beige Chinos
A solid pair of chinos makes for a lighter option than jeans in summer, but one that will be no less of a workhorse when it comes to getting dressed.
Opt for a pair in a neutral colourway for a classic way to ground almost any smart-casual outfit.
Marks & Spencer: £19.50
Linen Shirt
Forget everything you thought you knew, because if recent seasons have proved anything, it’s that linen isn’t solely worn by OAPs on a cruise.
By utilising the breathable fabric within a classic piece – such as an Oxford shirt – you’ll score a summer-friendly option far from the Costa del Geriatric.
Next: £30.00
Tasselled Loafers
Smart-casual can be a headache to decode, and that’s before you’ve factored in the soaring mercury.
A pair of tasselled loafers, paired with lightweight chinos, is the ultimate in-between, letting ankles breathe but still sitting pretty on the smarter end of the spectrum.
River Island: £55.00
Chambray Shirt
Blue collar threads, from trucker jackets to work boots, have long been a wardrobe influence.
But while they seem better suited to winter looks, iterations in lighter fabrics like chambray add a versatile, rugged appeal that’ll work year-round.
Charles Tyrwhitt: £19.95
Simple Jewellery
With necks unencumbered by multiple thick layers and arms free from the shackles of long sleeves, summer is a perfect time for stocking up on a few choice pieces of jewellery.
That’s not to say it’s time to put pedal to the metal, as it were. Instead, stick with restrained pieces in silver or gold in the case of necklaces, and leather or rope when it comes to bracelets for a subtle accent.
ASOS: £12.00
Espadrilles
Espadrilles, while the perfect shoe for relaxed strolls in the sun, lack practicality without a few modern updates. Fortunately, with their rise in popularity predicted, that’s exactly what has happened this season.
Look for lightweight offerings fitted with elastic gores for comfortable slip-on-and-go style and traditional jute rope soles finished with a non-slip rubber base.
BoohooMan: £12.00
Woven Belt
Of all the summer style mistakes you could make, inflicting a sub-par belt on your hard-won waistline is up there with the worst.
A woven option is not only better suited to warmer weather, but also serves as a subtle way to introduce texture to any summer look.
H&M: £12.99
Logo T-Shirt
Printed T-shirts are a summer tradition older than warm cans of beer and a poorly-advised hot dog. Yet many guys still get it wrong.
This season, ditch the floral get-up for a statement of a different kind. A logo tee is a failsafe way to level-up your basics and tap into the ubiqutous streetwear trend.
End Clothing: £19.00
Chore Jacket
Summer doesn’t guarantee sunshine – just ask any Brit. But while it’s nice to be prepared for the inevitable cold snap, no man wants to carry around a five-pound clunker of a coat.
A chore jacket is the answer: thick enough to prevent a shiver, but classic and muted enough to complement any seasonal staple.
The Idle Man: £40.00
Fine-Gauge Knit
Summer and winter wardrobes aren’t mutually exclusive. Fortunately, for cooler evenings, it’s possible to repurpose your December-friendly threads.
Owing to its natural temperature-regulating properties, a Merino wool knit is ideal for pairing with the chinos or shorts in your warm weather arsenal.
Uniqlo: £29.90
Summer Fragrance
Just as a wardrobe should be switched up with the seasons, so too should a grooming cabinet: lighter moisturisers, UV protection and anti-frizz hair products.
When it comes to your daily scent, the sweet (smelling) spot is something that swaps woods and spices for citrus and florals.
4711: £11.49
Navy Chino Shorts
Temperatures north of 28 degrees celsius render trousers impractical, but looking smart with your legs bared is not easy.
Opt for chino shorts. Cool, versatile and lightweight, the Oxbridge cut-offs retain a tailored sizzle without the scorch.
Gap: £29.95
Sandals
While flip-flops and pool sliders should be reserved solely for your holiday; a pair of sleek leather sandals is a solid choice for the city or the beach.
Seek out pared-back options in dark leather (preferably black, navy or brown), which will help effortlessly add some luxury to any summer ensemble, no matter the price tag.
Kiomi: £32.99
Cuban Collar Shirt
Bring a touch of Cuba to Cardiff, Cambridge or even Cockermouth with the shirt of the season. An ode to 1950s Americana, the open-necked Cuban collar is an effortlessly cool option for balmy summer nights.
Channel Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet with a floral version or follow the lead of Ryan Gosling in La La Land with a subtle design in a neutral colourway.
River Island: £25.00
Invisible Socks
The only thing that should be rising when going sockless is your style stock, not a stench from a pair of sweat-sodden shoes.
Of course, going ‘sockless’ doesn’t really mean that – it means investing in a pair of invisible socks to give the illusion. As an added tip, always look out for a rubber grip on the heel to stop them slipping off.
Topman: £3.50
Washed Cotton Cap
An almost weightless way to top off weekend looks; in recent seasons the baseball cap has successfully made the transition from the bleachers to the barnets of stylish men everywhere.
Seek out soft, malleable materials like washed cotton for a fuss-free, contemporary accessory that will wear and lighten in the sun over time.
H&M: £6.99
Tote Bag
A far less sweaty alternative to lugging a backpack around on your back, a sleek tote is ideal for weekend breaks or days in the city.
A durable body offers rugged workwear vibes while additional zipped compartments and optional shoulder straps ensure it provides all the practicality of a messenger bag.
Zara: £29.99
Lightweight Bomber Jacket
A stylish way to transition from the office to the after hours, a lightweight bomber jacket sets a high watermark when it comes to off-duty staples.
A khaki green colourway retains the original Air Force appeal of the military piece, while a wind-resistant shell and ribbed trims make it an investment that can still be worn layered up well into the winter months.
New Look: £24.99
Nato Watch
NATO Stocking Number straps – more commonly shortened to NATO straps – are the perfect summer choice for your watch: lighter than steel, more breathable than rubber and quick-drying in the sun.
Which means you can still clock a stylish timepiece without the irritation of a sweaty wrist.
Timex: £59.99
Lightweight Scarf
Before you reach for the hat and mittens, remember that a summer scarf is a different beast to its winter counterpart.
Visibility, not insulation, is the point here, adding a spot of wearable colour to even the simplest of outfits.
Mango: £19.99
Pleated Trousers
Last seen on your grandfather circa 1957, pleated trousers are finally back. And in a big way.
Despite designer’s best efforts, you’ll still need to work to keep the look modern. Opt for a pair with a single pleat and tapered ankle, and style with a Cuban collar shirt or mid-weight knitwear.
Burton: £30.00
Lightweight Suit
There’s never a bad time to think about adding an impeccably-cut suit to your rotation. However, double-digit temperatures and summer wedding season make the purchase all the more pertinent.
The key to staying sharp and cool is choosing the right fabric. Look for words like cotton, linen, seersucker or a combination of these. It also pays to side with lighter colours such as stone or even on-trend pastels, as these won’t absorb the heat as much.
Marks & Spencer: £148.50
Lighter Weight Denim Jeans
When it comes to denim for summer, we have one thing to say: lighten up. And that doesn’t just refer to the wash. Consider the weight and thickness of this workwear staple, too, as anything too heavy will result in a look that’s producing more sweat than style.
More high street retailers keep their cuts below 12oz, which is perfect. But if all else fails, rip yourself some on-trend ventilation holes.
ASOS: £25.00
Vertical Stripe Shirt
Make no mistake about it, vertical stripes are currently outstripping all other prints and patterns in the menswear game.
Slick on suits, a ten on trousers, they still do their best work up top on a shirt that will get up-down looks for all the right reasons.
Burton: £22.00
Sliders
Once the pariah of the poolside, now a bona fide trend both at home and abroad — there’s no getting away from sliders.
Of course, fashion is a fickle mistress, so rather than shelling out for a designer name, look for a simple pair that comes in at less than the cost of a pina colada.
New Look: £9.99

Spring has now arrived in the western hemisphere, and with it, the best looks for the spring to take the stuffiness out of your outfits into your spring wardrobe. The look for this spring is airy and playful, focusing both on minimalism in clean shapes and styling, and rustic style with flower details and ruffles. Imagine the perfect casual office look enhanced with embroidery, fringing and light, romantic colours.
Off-Shoulder Tops
J.O.A Off Shoulder Top With Wide Tie Detail Sleeves £50.00
Glamorous Off Shoulder Smock Top With Flared Sleeves £26.00
This is such an easy to wear trend! These tops are the perfect way to bring a little bit of airy, pretty frivolity to more drab, practical pieces like jeans or chinos. They are best styled in cotton or linen in pink, blue or white, although dark colours work equally well to bring in some of that Dolce and Gabbana Sicilian charm for the warmer days. I would style this top with jeans for a balanced look, or tucked into a midi skirt when it is finally warm enough to go around with bare legs. They also have some serious benefits- the exposed shoulders and wide neckline elongate the neck and emphasise the collar bone area.
Top colours: Blue, pink, white, dark green
Details to consider: Ruffles, sleeve ties, embroidery, shirring
Short Boyfriend Jeans
ASOS KIMMI Shrunken Boyfriend Jeans In Rhonda Wash £35.00
Lost Ink Slim Boyfriend Jeans With Daisy Hem £44.00
Now as the time for restricting skinny jeans is over, new styles are coming into fashion. My personal favourite are the boyfriend jeans in a cropped style. They accentuate the legs without clinging to the thighs, making them a little bit more forgiving for those who haven’t gotten into the spring workout mode! The cropped length shows off the ankles, making them a perfect pairing with heels, mules and high-end trainers for the perfect smart casual look.
Top colours: white, pale blue, dark washed denim
Details to consider: leghole cuffs (whether they are finished off, rolled up, rough or lace-edged), ripped on the knees or not ripped
Embroidered Pastel Biker Jackets
ASOS Floral Embroidered Leather Biker Jacket £200.00
ASOS Floral Embroidered Leather Biker Jacket £200.00
This is this season’s statement piece, bringing any drab outfit to life. The jacket’s universal fit and unique decoration make it ideal as an accessorising piece to simple outfits like t-shirts, jeans and spring jumpsuits. The embroidery trend has filtered through from the winter and the textures of brocade, but now it has a folksy inspiration that is lighter and fresher. The hand-stitched aspect of the design makes it a worthy investment piece that will take you from spring to summer, and when paired with darker fabrics, a transition piece to autumn.
Top colours: pastels
Details to consider: embroidery types and where it is located on the fabric, leather or fake leather as it is cheaper and ecological, fringing and study
Pink coats
Pimkie Double Breasted Trench Coat £39.99
ASOS Duster Coat With Loop Sleeve Detail £65.00
Although previously pink has been seen as the hardest of colours to wear as it was seen as too girly, with the rise in reclaiming feminist territories, pink is once more the trending colour. The Pink Coat is by far the best way to emulate the trend, as it simply requires the cover-up and it already makes the outfit. The pink coat doesn’t mean it has to be in a bright shade- it can be as muted as possible. It pairs easily with spring trends and colours, making it perfect for a daytime look as well as an evening cover-up. It also gives a romantic aspect to tougher clothing like boots or jeans.
Details to consider: length of sleeves, asymmetrical hemlines and lapels, ruffles, cuffs
Mules
ASOS LINK UP Mule Ballet Flats £22.00
Office Spice Knot Heeled Mules £65.00
This type of footwear is easy to wear, comfortable and allows your feet to breathe after being trapped all winter in boots! Mules come with different types of straps and ties, allowing for easy transitions between outfits and accessorising everything from jeans to dresses, making them on trend. These shoes are also the perfect spring to summer item, as mules can easily be taken for holidays and city breaks as an effortless way to add height and class to any outfit, whether at the beach or hitting the city sidewalk.
Top colours: pink, gold, denim, cream
Details to consider: Ruffles, embroidery, heel size, heel shape, number of straps
Spring Style 2017 Spring has now arrived in the western hemisphere, and with it, the best looks for the spring to take the stuffiness out of your outfits into your spring wardrobe.

Pirouetting into my dream wardrobe...tulle EVERYTHING!
Ever since I learned that Karlie Kloss thanked ballet training for helping her get into shape for the Victoria Secret fashion show, I’ve been rather fascinated by the form of dance. Sadly my own foray into ballet didn’t result in a figure suitable for the catwalk, but it was great fun all the same. For the time being I’ve hung up my ballet shoes, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about the tulle...all the lovely tulle!
There is something particularly special about a midi-length tulle skirt or dress, no other fabric I have discovered has made me feel like more of a princess. So here is my rundown of ballet-inspired tulle creations that are available this Spring.
1. Mesh A-Line Skirt with Pleats and an elasticated waist £35, available in Grey and Blush Pink.
I adore the grey shade of this skirt and the length is perfect for the North-East’s attempt at Spring weather. It’s looking strictly limited online at the moment, but recent trips to store have informed me that there’s plenty still available. It’s a greatly versatile piece which could be dress up with a light coloured velvet top or worn more casually during the day with a flute-sleeved jumper. One thing can certainly be relied upon here, M&S quality and a very decent price. I predict this will be a solid investment!
2. Nine By Savannah Miller for Debenhams Black Cross Detail Body £20
Nine by Savannah Miller is a line that has really caught my attention recently. In a previous blog I heaped praise upon a lovely dark green velvet item from her Winter collection. This time around, my focus is upon her sports line. I really love this body with the cross detailing on the front. During my (albeit VERY brief) time attending (beginners) ballet classes, I fell in love the humble body; I will always champion an item that is both stylist and practical. I’d particularly like to style this body with a pleated skirt and a black biker jacket with ankle boots.
3. Time for some serious #wardrobegoals now! Introducing my ultimate and absolute favourite ballet-inspired brand...Needle and Thread and their VERY aptly named Coppelia dress!
(Currently in Asos’ clearence for £65...and sadly not in my wardrobe due to very limited sizing options...sadface).
Needle and Thread are the ultimate in ballet fashion. I first discovered this beautiful brand during a turn around London’s Liberty store in Soho. Their entire line consists of dresses, tops and skirts made from beautiful quality tulle and handcrafted, careful detailing. Their full price items reflect the sheer quality of the collections and I am absolutely in love. I see a fine future for myself and Needle and Thread when I win the lottery. Currently available are an array of beautiful pastel-shaded maxi and midi tulle skirts, embellished short tops and wonderful amalgamations of the two in maxi and midi dress form. If you’re a fan of tulle, pastel colours, and feeling like a princess...look into this brand now! You won’t regret it, but your bank balance may!
4. Topshop Tulle Ruched Tunic £22
Right, stick with me on this one...Topshop have styled this on their website over jeans. To me tulle is a far too beautiful a fabric to be slung over jeans...just no! I do love this tunic dress though, it has a good oversized fit which would hang nicely over a plain black slip dress and would pair up lovely with ankle boots. Who says ballet-style has to be completely delicate?
5. Ballet Flats
Admittedly there’s nothing new about ballet flats, they roll around every season and are the go-to shoe of any sensible girl who cannot manage to trek around the streets with her feet permanently in stilettos (that sentence was exclusively inspired by my current binge-watch of Gossip Girl on Netflix...seriously, these ladies never wear flats!). Just like the skinny jean, the ballet flat is going nowhere, so it’s up to the retailers to find a new way to present the age old favourite. Here’s two easy-to-wear styles that have caught my eye!
ASOS LINGUINI Lace Up Pointed Ballet Flats £22
Topshop KISSES Pearl Ballet Shoes £39.00
So there you have it, a very brief window into my love affair with all things ballet and tulle. Happy shopping!

Anyone else wishing for spring? I’m kind of done with winter dressing, the only way I can get behind the cold is when it snows, I do love a magical wintery white scene, so I’ve decided to cheer up my winter wardrobe with a whole lot of metallic shine, and it is making me smile. It all started off with these bargain silver Topshop ankle boots. You see they had been on my autumn/winter wishlist for months, I was hesitant to take the plunge and buy, not sure why they weren’t crazy expensive at £40, but something made me chicken out at checkout, well, that was until I saw that they had gone down to £7 in the sale. Yep, these metallic beauties were only £7 and they are so comfortable, just the right amount of heel and shine, and they have a pointed toe that I adore, and they look great with skirts, dresses and even jeans. I think I may be a little obsessed.
So, there aren’t that many left in stock, but if you have tiny feet 2, 3 or 4 you are in luck as they are still available online, and at £7 how can you really resist. Don’t worry if you have big feet like me, I’ve put a selection of my favourite silver boots below the post, I’ve kind of fallen in love with a Silver-tone studded design from Asos with buckle straps, they are so cute and I feel that now I’ve fallen for metallic I so need another pair.
Metallic doesn’t just have to be for footwear and bags, I love the shimmer of this Zara pleated strip skirt, which when paired with this ombre Boden jumper my husband said was a metallic version of the Zoom ice lolly. I kind of took that as a compliment, which he quickly added was not, how rude!!!!
But, you know what I don’t care, I love this look. This skirt was another bargain, just £9.99 in the Zara sale, and its shine is subtle and not crinkly fabric like some, and I love the mint green hue next to the silver and gold, just gives it a little something different, plus it looks great with this jumper and the boots. Final piece of my outfit is my beloved Sophie Hulme Milner Mini, this is the dark grey that I can’t see on the website at the moment, but there are so many pretty colours, plus a smaller nano size if you want something a little more affordable and cute.
Are you all about metallic shine during winter?
My Metallic Style: Topshop – Krazy crazy pointed boots // Zara – Metallic pleated strip skirt // Boden – Ombre jumper // Sophie Hulme – Milner Mini via Farfetch (c/o) //

Hands up: anyone who hasn’t looked at a runway show and thought, WTF? If a six-foot-four Scandinavian Adonis can’t pull off Rick Owens’ glory hole trousers, how on earth can we average men? Even when such trends trickle down to the high street, they can present all sorts of problems – we’re either too short, too fat or just too sane to even launch an attempt. But tricky clothing shouldn’t be discounted entirely (unless it is actually glory hole trousers). As guys take more wardrobe risks, we spoke to style experts about how to steer such pieces from wacky to wearable. And the solutions are much easier than you’d think.Cargo TrousersCargo trousers: once military uniform, now an on-trend essential in many a man’s kit. But despite the recent surge, they still cause boyband-triggered Vietnam flashbacks nationwide.“The solution is in the fit,” says Luke McDonald, associate stylist at men’s personal shopping service Thread. “Make sure your cargo trousers don’t pool or bunch around the ankle – a slimline shape should sit just above your shoes and will flatter most physiques.”(Related: How To Wear Cargo Trousers)In addition, to make sure your style doesn’t go MIA, McDonald suggests flanking cargo trousers with simple staples such as cable-knit jumpers, desert boots and plain T-shirts in earthy hues or darker neutrals such as black and navy.Key PiecesNext Laundered CargosNew Look Light Grey Cargo TrousersBroome – Garment Dyed Cargo Pants Relaxed Slim FitRiver Island Black Slim Fit Cargo TrousersJean Shop Gene Slim-fit Cotton-twill Cargo TrousersTodd Snyder Infantry Herringbone Cotton Cargo TrousersTechnical RainwearTechnical rainwear is usually a terrifying reminder of sopping wet school trips and dry-as-a-bone Geography teachers, with most pieces falling firmly into the nerdwear remit.“Wearing technical rainwear is a problem because it often looks like you’re wearing exactly that,” says Mr Porter style director Olie Arnold. “Traditionally-speaking, they’re not the most stylish of pieces, with boxy and unfitted shapes more associated with the great outdoors.”But it isn’t all bad: “Brands are now placing technology from active sportswear within more stylish designs,” adds Arnold. “Look out for Nike Lab and Loro Piana – both offer pieces that have more in common with a blazer, which suits just as well over a suit as it does with jeans or sneakers.”(Related: Making Sense Of Technical Fabrics)Key PiecesTopman Stone Parka CoatRains Four Pocket Jacket BlueHerno Laminar Slim-fit Gore-tex Paclite Shell RaincoatNike Nikelab Acg Convertible Gore-tex Down JacketLoro Piana Blue Voyager Storm System Shell BlazerAcronym J50-s High-density Gabardine Climashield Bomber Jacket Raf GreenJoggersJoggers as part of an everyday, or even a tailored, look is something that has been on the menswear radar from several seasons now, so you’d think we’d have got the hang of it. But as Tom Courcey, editor at menswear etailer The Idle Man, points out – the wrong cut, fabric or colour can banish a whole look back to the weights bench.“Since joggers are usually worn around the house, they need to be styled in a polished way,” he says. “Many men take loungewear outdoors without remembering that they’re still head-to-toe in loungewear.”The solution is to choose the right separates elsewhere: “Opt for a slimmer, fitted pair in grey marl or black – a cuffed ankle will also result in a smarter silhouette,” adds Courcey. “Then team with a white tee, structured bomber and minimal leather kicks for a look more off-duty than straight-out-of-bed.”Key PiecesHe By Mango Plush-cotton Jogging TrousersReiss Alistar Jersey Sweatpants NavySave Khaki French Terry Sweat Pant Grey HeatherClub Monaco Loopback Cotton-jersey SweatpantsSuitsupply Navy SweatpantsUniqlo Men Dry Stretch Sweat PantsHoodiesNo longer the sole preserve of stroppy teenagers, you only need to look as far as the recent menswear shows to see that hoodies are back on the menswear map. Why, then, is it still so easy to look like a Linkin Park fan?“Hoodies are a popular choice thanks to maximum ease and comfort,” says Kasia Katner, lead stylist at Thread. “But that can often result in an unpolished getup.”Just follow Katner’s advice and keep the rest of your outfit smart and your colour palette simple: “A grey hoodie will sit with every other colour in your wardrobe. Pair it with navy chinos, a crisp white tee and minimal trainers, and you’ll create a look that is neither too mosh pit nor gym bunny.”Key PiecesE. So naturally, it has its fair share of pitfalls.Avoid anything too topical, especially when it concerns slogans,” says Giles Farnham, head of River Island’s Style Studio. “Your ironic tee may get a few likes on social media, but it’ll be a pretty short-lived investment.”A ‘Female Body Inspector’ gag is a shortcut to eating lunch alone, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t stylish ways to pull of a print. “A reworked band tee is an easy piece to wear with off-duty separates. Or, if you prefer a bigger statement, try a baroque or floral print in a muted colour,” adds Farnham.(Related: 8 Of The Best Sloganwear Pieces)Key PiecesAllsaints Smock Camo Crew T-shirtAsos Velvet T-shirt In Premium With All Over Floral PrintMetallica Inside Out T-shirtZara Skull T-shirtHe By Mango Printed Cotton T-shirtEtro Floral-print Cotton T-shirtWide-Leg TrousersClothing rails, much like our thighs, have been suffocated by skinny jeans in recent seasons. While we don’t see them going anywhere soon, peak-skinny is giving rise to something at the opposite end of the spectrum: the wide-leg trouser.(Related: From The Experts: Men’s Style Predictions For 2017)“Many people now favour comfort over constricted styles,” explains James Jee, head of menswear at Jaeger. “But not all wider shapes are fair game – beware of the flare.”To get in on the emerging trend without going full Saturday Night Fever, Jee suggests opting for a straighter cut instead. “Just be wary of proportions – an ideal cut should boast more volume in the waist and hip, with a slight taper towards the ankle.”Due to the wider leg being your statement, there’s little need for vibrancy, print or volume elsewhere, so keep your surrounding pieces muted and well-fitted so it doesn’t look like you’re dressed head-to-toe in your dad’s hand-me-downs.Key PiecesAsos Straight ChinosLee Jeans Brooklyn Straight Fit One Wash StretchTopman Premium Grey Wool Blend Straight Leg ChinosTopman Navy Wide Leg Cropped Fit TrousersAcne Studios Van Denim JeansJ.crew Wallace & Barnes Wide-leg Cotton-drill ChinosPatterned SuitsIf you prefer to tap Gucci’s Alessandro Michele over Tom Ford, chances are you sit at the bolder end of the menswear spectrum. But get it wrong and you’re likely to look more like your nan’s lampshade.“Patterned suits have been popular at special events and weddings over recent years,” says Jee. “But they can often overload on print or colour.”As Jee points out, patterned doesn’t have to mean turning into Liberace. “A tonal check weave or shadow windowpane is a quieter way to wear a printed suit. But if you insist on a bolder look, keep other parts of the outfit simple – plain shirt, leather Oxford lace-ups and no belt. Let the print speak for itself.”(Related: How To Wear A Patterned Suit)Key PiecesZara Polka Dot Suit BlazerNoose & Monkey Super Skinny Green Suit In Tartan With StretchRiver Island Black Camo Skinny Suit JacketTopman Black And White Twisted Check Skinny Fit SuitTed Baker Ellis Floral Jacquard BlazerRiver Island Ecru Checked Skinny Suit JacketBaseball CapsBaseball’s biggest export after foam fingers hit a home run in 2016, but there are still a few things to consider before stepping up to the plate.“Baseball caps can often look shabby or too casual,” says Farnham. It makes sense considering the headwear’s sportswear heritage. Unless you’re pitch side, leave branding on the bench and don’t forget to consider everything from face shape, to occasion and the rest of your look.(Related: How To Wear A Hat Without Looking Like A Fool)“To smarten up, wear a plain style atop clean, smart pieces. Requested Little Mix Inspired Tops
So first of all I found some of the top you requested in a range of colours from burgandy/Short sleeve top, Mustard, White, Blue. If you haven`t noticed already but we`re using a autumunal colour palette since it`s coming into the Autumn season a lot of these dark, subtle, mature colours will come into play. Read below how you can dress them up with a outfit.
Boohoo Butt Shaper Mid Rise Skinny Jeans: £28 £22.40. First off we start off with the classic denim jeans. We decided to start off easy and gentle with a casual look, So pair any of the tops with these jeans either tucked in or not and it would make a really easy, simple and comfortable outfit. What`s more is that these jeans are shaped around your butt and we all know how much of a struggle it is to find jeans that fit comfortably and perfectly. These jeans will lift your butt and give it shape and definition. To finish the look you can team it up with a simple pair of sandals or white trainers and a layered necklace with a handbag, You cna also add a hair tie accessory.
ZARA DENIM MINI SKIRT: £19.99. If the weather is mild and a bit humid you can always try opting for a skirt instead of jeans. We much prefer denim skirts without the buttons going down ourselves as it looks more attractive but that`s your opinion. The classic denim skirt is a stape in many peoples wardrobes..You can wear this with any of the tops we included, Including the bag, the necklace and the shoes. You can also dress it with some ankle boots and a beret.
ASOS DESIGN Petite denim button pinafore mini dress in blue: £28. Now this look I tried recreating Perrie`s outfit she wore the other week which was a denim button down pinafore dress, Unfortanely her dress is no longer available but we was in luck as the trend is still going in shops. Now, We do have options so you can either have it short, or if you wanted it like Perrie`s then we found a identical dupe here, You can also get it in black or white
Topshop CALI Mustard Cross Body Bag: £25. This look would not be completed without a bag, So we settled for this bag from Topshop. We went with this bag because of the mustard colour, A staple colour for Autumn which would go with almost any outfit you own. You can always go for the classic black handbag as well. Some other colours we would choose if we was buying a bag would be red, burgandy, green, brown, grey - Autumn colours.
H&M Three-strand necklace: £6.99. Now it is your choice if you wanted to add a piece of jewellery like a necklace or not. I always like to add a necklace because I don`t like my neck to be bare, A necklace adds that bit of extra to your outfit.
River Island Rose gold colour hoop earrings: £5.00. Same with the necklace, I always find people wear earrings with any outfit whether it`s raining or snowing and it is hard to understand why, But I almost get it too. Earrings have almost become this staple piece now as part of a outfit especially the classic hoops. It would be a good investment to make in purchasing a good pair of hoops, They will last you a lifetime and go with any outfit whether you`re dressing up or down.
Topshop COLA White Lace Up Trainers: £24. These are not included in the post above because I did forget about them and I couldn`t fit them in. But I wanted to include them because they would go with any outfit we have stated above. These are classic white trainers and let me tell you it is very hard to find classic white trainers nowadays without the razzle dazzle of embellishment, logos, or embroidery. We found these ones from Topshop and for £24 we think that`s a bargain considering it is Topshop.

The Women Nailing All-Black Dressing On Instagram
This season, we're embracing our dark side and going colourless. Sure, we love a hint of citrus here and a splash of lavender there as much as the next fashion-forward dresser, but the sleekness of an all-black outfit just can't be denied. Dispel the notion that it's boring to drape yourself head-to-toe in black; for AW19, a bevy of savvy women are proving the opposite is true, one prairie dress, tailored suit and delicate pearl knit at a time. In a sea of oxbloods, camels and apple greens, we're rebelling and opting for the darkest possible hue instead. The continuing trend for bold '90s pieces has reaffirmed our love for wearing zero colour. Miuccia Prada reminded us of the allure of preppy dressing this season, kicking off the resurgence of black satin headbands and glossy lug sole Oxfords. Penny Lane coats are back, too, and at the top of our wish lists, with darker iterations in particular reigning supreme. And come party season, who doesn't reach for a classic slip skirt or slinky dress? Still not convinced? Click through to see the coolest women nailing all-black everything, and the pieces you'll need to get the look.
Stephanie Yeboah It's no secret that ruffled, floaty dresses have been stealing the limelight recently. The prairie trend was at the centre of our outfit choices throughout summer and Insta trailblazer Stephanie Yeboah has us clinging to the trend for a round of #hotgirlautumn. Pairing her airy dress with ankle boots, we're taking notes and adding in some patterned tights – think Saks Potts' viral logo offering or Marine Serre's crescent moon leggings. Throw in a mix of gold necklaces and accessories if you feel like breaking up the monochrome vibe.

María Bernad Wednesday Addams is the inspiration behind a multitude of our latest trend obsessions. Scrolling through IG, we noticed ourselves going double-tap crazy for pleated skirts, sleek loafers and satin headbands. We're calling it the back-to-school effect for grown-ups. Designer María's feed is like Christmas come early for lovers of oversized dressing, sleek tailoring and daring footwear. Effortlessly uniting elegant pearls and bulky footwear, this all black fit is certainly one we're trying to recreate this season. The squishy bag ties the look together seamlessly.

Alani Figueroa Alani Figueroa aka Wuzg00d is no stranger to slipping bursts of colour into her outfit rotation; the influencer can frequently be spotted meshing pastels and prints. But when she decides to trial the extreme end of the colour spectrum and go all black, boy does she do it justice. Seen here with a mini Telfar bag (currently the fashion set's most coveted plus one), underwear as outerwear and loose trackies, she easily toes the line between athleisure and brunch-ready. Throw caution to the wind and trial a sportswear take on the monochrome trend for impromptu weekend antics.

Sophia Roe Black maxis will forever remain the holy grail in our lineup of floor-skimming dresses – and Sophia Roe reminds us exactly why we can never have too many. The bell sleeves! The structured bag! The thong sandals! This entire fit oozes elegance. The love-it-or-hate-it sandal of the summer is still a hot topic on the fashion circuit and a structured bag is practical and versatile. Take heed of Sophia's stylistic choices and opt for eye-catching accessories that fall in line with an all-black aesthetic.

Shaheen Chand Ticking all the boxes for minimal enthusiasts, Shaheen draws on drool-worthy accessories, button-up shirts and ankle-grazing trousers. A recipe for success, no? Shaheen's Instagram is brimming with autumn outfit inspo – think chunky boots, airy dresses and trench coats. For those days when you're running late, an oversized shirt and trousers will work 99% of the time. A casual hang requires a chunky trainer, strappy sandals are good for a day to night swap and ankle boots are the footwear equivalent of your fave winter coat: loyal to the very end.

Lena Herrmann A two-piece suit is a no-brainer for first-timers easing into the trend. The best way to add a twist? Sculptural heeled boots. The black ankle boot revival is real and this time has an unforgiving edge. 2019 has seen its fair share of oversized suits on the runway, from Balenciaga to Alexander McQueen. High street heroes like Mango and ASOS have also tapped into the trend multiple times, keeping us kitted out during wedding season. Adding hints of animal print to mannish tailoring makes up for the lack of primary colours. We'll take three of those snake print ByFar bags, thanks.

19 Mock Croc Pieces That Will Satisfy Your Seventies Obsession
Mock croc is having a moment. More adventurous than the ubiquitous leopard print, it adds a fashion-forward element to an otherwise mundane fit. We're tapping into the '70s-inspired trend, stat. A tangerine dream take on the texture graced the catwalk during Marni's AW19 show, while in Paris, Max Mara served up a multitude of knee-length boots in striking pastel shades. Tibi, meanwhile, opted for a sleek and ladylike patent skirt in forest green (a key hue this season, FYI). Riding the '70s train until the wheels fall off, we'll be pairing pussybow blouses with flared jeans, a mock croc trench and gold accents. If you're ready to plunge right into '70s fever, take inspo from Miu Miu's Resort 2020 show and team a dark floral dress with chocolate brown croc accessories, socks and loafers. Go forth and scroll through the grooviest mock croc pieces that'll add some bite (sorry) to your autumn wardrobe...
