Market Open Flat Ahead Of RBI Policy Meeting Result

Stock Markets Open on flat note on Thursday ahead of RBI policy meeting result to be declared today. The Indian rupee today opened lesser by 11ps at 68.53 per US dollar as against 68.42 yesterday. A the time of this writing, the Sensex was up 30.88 points at 38908, with Bharti Airtel, Asian Paint Power Grid and Hero Moto Corp among the top gainers on the index. The NSE Nifty is up 9 points at 11652 with major gains in Indiabulls Housing, Bharti Airtel, Ultratech Cement, Titan and Asian Paint, whereas losers were HCL Tech, Wipro and Yes bank. On the sectoral front, except Nifty IT, media and metal, all other sectoral indices are trading in the green.  The RBI's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) headed by governor Shaktikanta Das will declare its decision today. The market is anticipating a cut in policy rates by 25bps ahead of the general elections.
