The Ashuaps is a serpent-like creature found in the Ashuapmushuan River in Quebec Canada. The Ashuaps is described as a 10-60 foot long snake-like creature with sharp teeth and very dark blue scales. The haven’t been many sightings of the Ashuaps but there are a few reported sightings; in one it flipped someone’s canoe over with its powerful tail and swam away.

Creature Feature: Ashuaps
Tumblr media
Ashuaps is a North American version of the Loch Ness Monster that originated from Québec, Canada. It was believed to live in the Ashuapmushuan River which flows into Lac Saint-Jean, hence the beast's name. It was described to be 10-60 feet in length, and its colour is deep blue or black.
Sightings
This creature has been sighted since ancient times, but sightings have continued until present day. In 1978, Marcel Tardif and his wife saw a blackish animal, 50–60 feet long, off Scott Point. In the same day as above, something overturned a canoe paddled by Michel Verreault, his wife, and daughter.

Note
Do you know if there are any known cryptids in the east coast of Canada?
Gonna be real honest and say that even though I’m living in Canada, I don’t know anything about Canadian geography, so here’s some from Quebec: Lake Champlain Monster, the Beast of Seven Chutes, Memphre, Ashuaps, and Rougarous have been spotted up there.

Le monstre du lac Saint-Jean
Tumblr media

The monster was described as being about fifty to sixty feet long, able to lift iself about three feet out of the water ,and either black or dark blue in color.”
