Justification:

"it would NOT have saved them long term BUT. it might take care of Ashfur's jealousy issues if he started getting affection from both the girl he has a crush on AND her conveniently handsome boyfriend. it wouldn't last long but they can be a happy throuple with their new baby kittens for a bit <3 And then. Think of the DRAMA when they find out Squilf lied. Maybe Ashfur grows suspicious, connects the dots, and the fire scene is him demanding answers. No more jealous incel ex, now a betrayed mate and father with an actual reason to be upset. (not that adoption should be that big a crime but whatever) And then it's even MORE dramatic when Hollyleaf KILLS HER OWN (adoptive) FATHER ???? Overall it would make their dynamic and the whole plot so much more interesting. it might not fix them but it would ABSOLUTELY fix the series :3 (idk how it'd affect the future stuff w them but I haven't read that far so it's not my problem)" - Anonymous
