Sutekh as a God of dragons

Through my research into Sutekh and other Gods who share his dominion, I have come to a realization that I find very fascinating.

In Egyptian mythology, "dragons" as we know them today don't show up, but "dragon" has always been a broad term, and is usually equivocated to a serpent, drake, large reptile and fire breather. See where I'm going?

Sutekh no doubt has association with serpents, as he is the God that strikes down a//pe//p every night.

Sutekh is also a deity of chaos, violent and destructive as he is protective and strong, aspects that are most common within western mythos containing dragons. Most stories about the four legged, winged dragons involve fighting them, as Seth fights the serpent.

A little aside, Ares shares similarities with Sutekh with the addition of being a God of dragons, and the two religions have mingled fairly often and share the primary color association of red.

Another really interesting association with dragons is Akhekh, a creature with a long serpentine body and four legs, sometimes with features of an antelope

This being is also an aspect of Sutekh, and is named a Typhonic Beast, in association with the Greek monster Typhon, a massive draconic beast.

Occasionally I try doing digital art and occasionally it is of Thrawn riding an actual chimaera being chased by the ISD Chimaera

This started as a dumb joke on Twitter about multiverse variants of the ISD Chimaera but then I got too into it. I did actually start drawing this on paper but I required the power of zoom to draw his face how I wanted :3

Sorry it’s like a pet peeve of mine but I hate now that dunmeshi’s started being popular, everyone immediately thinks of falin’s chimaera when I say chimaera. Like no I’m talking about the lion with the goat head on its back/chest and the snake tail… please.
