PRESENTAN NUEVA PIEL DEL CHIHUAHUA FÚTBOL CLUB

Chihuahua.-Con la majestuosidad del Museo Casa Chihuahua como recinto sede, la tarde de este miércoles se presentó oficialmente el uniforme y la conformación del plantel de Chihuahua Fútbol Club equipo que debutará este mes en la Liga Premier con derecho al Ascenso

 Con la presencia de las autoridades del gobierno del estado y el municipio, así como la directiva del Club, patrocinadores, invitados especiales y medios de comunicación se llevó a cabo la presentación de cada uno de los jugadores que serán dirigidos por el chihuahuense Diego López.

 El evento fue encabezado por Carlos Lazo Reyes CEO de XOY quien, en su mensaje a los asistentes, expresó; “Somos la primera empresa en México que cuenta con cinco equipos profesionales en diferentes deportes y Chihuahua FC es la propuesta para una ciudad que añoraba un proyecto de fútbol profesional, este proyecto es suyo”.

 Por su parte Diego López manifestó su agradecimiento por el trato de primer nivel que el equipo ha recibido de parte de la directiva, lo que coadyuva a que cuerpo técnico y equipo se enfoquen exclusivamente en lo deportivo.

 De igual manera, el capitán del equipo Andy García habló a nombre de los jugadores e indicó el gran compromiso que representa vestir los colores de Chihuahua FC, por lo que alentó a sus compañeros a dejar el corazón en la cancha en cada partido.

 El debut de Chihuahua FC será este viernes 26 de agosto a las 19:30 horas cuando reciba a los Cimarrones de Sonora en el Estadio Olímpico Universitario. Venta de boletos en xoyticket.mx con un costo de $60 pesos zona general.

Mexicans Wonder If Trump’s Wall Could Stop Coronavirus Spreading South

True to form, U.S. President Donald Trump has warned coronavirus could spread from Mexico, touting his anti-migrant wall as a solution. Seen from south of the border though, the greater risk is infection from the much bigger outbreak in the United States.

Residents of the city of Tijuana, just across from San Diego, California, have for years crossed back and forth daily to reach jobs and schools. Many say they are now wary of bringing back the contagious disease from the U.S. side.

Perla Macias, a Tijuana resident who heads into California to tend a make-up concession in a mall, now sees her commute as a daily risk, but an unavoidable one.

“I don’t want to get sick, but I don’t have a choice,” she said. “I work over there.”

In Mexico, authorities have detected 12 cases of the virus so far and no deaths, a fraction of the more than 1,000 confirmed cases in the United States, where there have been dozens of fatalities.

In California alone 50 cases and four deaths have been confirmed. In Tijuana’s state of Baja California, no cases have been confirmed.

WALL WISECRACKS

Last week, Trump wrote on Twitter that his signature border wall is needed “more than ever,” citing coronavirus as a new argument for the barrier.

The overwhelming majority of Mexicans oppose the wall, dating back to Trump’s campaign for president in which he routinely lashed out at Mexico and its migrants.

Across social media though, Mexicans joked on Thursday that the wall had taken on new purpose – to stop U.S. citizens infecting Mexicans.

Wisecracks aside, Julian Palombo, a Tijuana business chamber official said what was needed was much tougher measures to check for infections coming from San Diego.

“It makes sense to build a wall, but a public health wall from over there to here to avoid the risk of possible infections,” he said.

Like others consulted by Reuters, Palombo bemoaned the lack of checks at busy land crossings into Tijuana, or in nearby airports. He added that face masks and hand sanitizer were in short supply on both sides of the border.

Coronavirus has infected more than 126,000 people globally according to a Reuters tally, most of them in China. In Italy there are 15,000 cases.

Some experts speculate that the outbreak is more acute in both Mexico and the United States than the relatively low number of confirmed cases suggests, due to insufficient testing for the virus. Mexican authorities say they have a clear containment strategy.

Tijuana Mayor Arturo Gonzalez Cruz has said that he is working with Baja California state officials to implement better health checks on persons crossing on foot each day.

Dulce Molina, whose husband works in a San Diego hotel, supported tougher sanitation measures at the border but said a physical barrier was not a solution to keeping the virus out.

“It’s all over the world,” she said.

MS-13 Gang Accused in a Gruesome Murder Spree Around LA

Citing a gruesome series of killings in Los Angeles in which one victim was dismembered and whose heart was cut out, a federal grand jury has indicted 22 alleged members or associates of the notorious MS-13 gang on charges that include racketeering and murder.

Five of the seven killings outlined in a new superseding indictment involved the victims’ bodies being dumped in Angeles National Forest, according to court documents.

The new 78-page grand jury indictment says 22 alleged members and associates of the MS-13 Fulton clique, based in the Los Angeles suburbs of the San Fernando Valley, engaged in common street gang business: narcotics sales, robberies, burglaries, and extortion schemes.

But the indictment also details how those charged used horrific violence to control members, protect territory and intimidate rivals.

Memorial Service Planned for Ross Perot in Dallas

The case is the culmination of a two-year-long investigation by the FBI, Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Nicola T. Hanna and other officials are expected to provide additional details at a news conference Tuesday morning.

Named in the indictment are German Arnulfo Cruz Hernandez; Angel Amadeo Guzman; Ever Joel Morales; Fernando Garcia Parada; Jose Baquiax Alvarez; Kevin Villalta Gomez; Kevin Arteaga; Edgard Velasquez; Walter Chavez Larin; Yefri Alexander Revelo; Wilfredo Vides; Gerardo Alvarado; Roberto Carlos Mendez Cruz; Bryan Alberto Ordones; Roberto Alejandro Corado Ortiz; Edwin Isaac Mendez; Josue Balmore Flores Castro; Luis Arturo Gonzalez; Edwin Martinez; Steven Emmanuel Linares; Marco Antonio Ramos; and Erick Eduardo Rosales Arias.

Formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s, MS-13 or Mara Salvatrucha, has a footprint in at least 10 states – including California, New York, Virginia, Maryland, and Texas – as well as several Central American countries, including El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala.

Fulton is one of at least 20 subsets, or cliques, of the gang operating around Los Angeles, and federal prosecutors said it modeled itself after a subset of the gang in El Salvador known as “503.” That group broke away, the indictment alleges, and became more violent after the El Salvadoran government tried to quell violence by arranging a secret truce with older MS-13 leaders.

Salvadoran MS-13 members who were recent arrivals to Los Angeles often identified with the 503 group and joined together with Fulton clique members to carry out the slayings detailed in the indictment, the court papers allege.

In Los Angeles beginning in 2017, MS-13 members who identified with the 503 group had been required to kill a gang rival or “someone perceived to be adverse to MS-13” in order to be initiated into the gang, the indictment says.

The indictment also suggests that Fulton group operated differently from other MS-13 cliques in Los Angeles.

"MS-13 in Los Angeles was distinct from MS-13 cliques in other parts of the country, because in Los Angeles, MS-13 had to pay extortionate rent payments to the Mexican Mafia, to which MS-13 swore fealty," the indictment states.

Among the seven murders at the center of the 12-count indictment was the killing of an individual identified by the initials "J.S.," who federal prosecutors said was choked and dismembered in March of 2017 for crossing out MS-13 graffiti.

One alleged gang member "carved out J.S.'s heart," and others "threw J.S.'s body parts into a canyon" in the Angeles Forest, the indictment says.

A month later another victim, identified as G.B., was struck on the back of the head with a pistol and then hacked to death with a machete, according to the court filing. His body was found close to the first dump site in the forest.

Federal prosecutors said some of the MS-13 gang members suspected G.B. was an informant. The indictment says that MS-13 had "zero tolerance" for members or associates who cooperate with law enforcement, and that once suspected a "green light" could be issued by the gang authorizing them to be killed on sight.

Another murder followed in June of 2017, when a man identified in the indictment as E.H. was killed with a machete and a knife.

Authorities said non-gang members were also targeted, including a 34-year-old homeless man who was shot to death in January of 2019 in a North Hollywood park claimed by the gang.

Court documents said some of those charged posted photographs and messages to Facebook and other social media that appeared linked to the violence. Images showed the alleged gang members posing with weapons and in gang attire, and some of the pictures were taken close to the murder scenes and body dump sites.

Multiple law enforcement sources told NBC News that in addition to the murders detailed in the indictment, investigators believe the number of killings connected to the gang could be much higher.

The charges in the new indictment include allegations of a racketeering conspiracy against some defendants, murder and violent crimes in aid of racketeering.

MS-13 was formed in Los Angeles in the 1980s by refugees who fled civil conflict in El Salvador, and it is organized in a loose structure of cells or "cliques," that control specific territory, according to a 2018 report by the Congressional Research Service.

The gang became international as members were deported from the United States to Central America, and since 2005 law enforcement officials have estimated its membership in the U.S. at around 10,000 members, contradicting suggestions that it has grown in the U.S. in recent years, the report said.

MS-13 was named a transnational gang in 2012 during the administration of President Barack Obama. The Treasury Department announced it was targeting the organization with sanctions at that time.

Man is No. 6 on El Salvador’s 100 Most Wanted

BOSTON — A 24-year-old MS-13 gang member wanted in El Salvador for his involvement in eight aggravated murders was removed Friday and turned over to Salvadoran authorities by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO).

According to Salvadoran authorities, Leandro Cruz aka Jose Arturo Gonzalez Martinez, was involved with the murders of eight, which prompted law enforcement officials there to list him as one El Salvador’s 100 Most Wanted. Cruz, identified as No. 6, is listed as Martinez or “Gasper” on the Salvadoran Los 100 Mas Buscados list.

He was removed via ICE Air under escort by ERO deportation officers, before being handed over to Salvadoran authorities without incident.

“Transnational gangs like MS-13 are an insidious source of violence and many forms of other criminal activity in far too communities here and abroad,” said C.M. Cronen, ERO Boston field office director. “Mr. Cruz will now face justice in his home country for the horrendous crimes for which he stands accused.”

Cruz has previous convictions in Massachusetts for assault and battery. He was turned over to ICE Nov. 16, after serving a sentence in the Suffolk County House of Corrections, where ICE had an active detainer in place. On Nov. 30, an immigration judge ordered him removed from the U.S., paving the way for his repatriation to Salvadoran authorities to face the pending murder charges.

Cruz is the latest removal to El Salvador as part of ERO’s Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement (SAFE) Initiative. The SAFE Initiative is geared toward the identification of foreign fugitives who are wanted abroad and removable under US immigration law. Those removed as part of the SAFE Initiative have been deemed ineligible to remain in the United States and were all wanted by the Policia Nacional Civil (PNC). To date, the ERO Office in El Salvador, through the SAFE Initiative, has removed and facilitated the PNC’s ability to arrest more than 800 criminal fugitives to El Salvador.

SAFE aligns with ERO’s public safety priorities and eliminates the need for formal extradition requests.

Since Oct. 1, 2009, ERO has removed more than 1,700 foreign fugitives from the United States who were sought in their native countries for serious crimes, including kidnapping, rape and murder. In fiscal year 2016, ICE conducted 240,255 removals nationwide. Ninety-two percent of individuals removed from the interior of the United States had previously been convicted of a criminal offense.
