There are 3 categories that fit David Tennat Characters
Hear me out. I think most if not all of David's characters can be sorted into 3 categories:
Neurospicy Twink
Sad Dad
Distinguished Psycho
Allow me to demonstrate
Neurospicy Twink:

Sad Dad:

Distinguished Psycho:

And of course the character that fits the trifecta: Dad, Twink and Psycho all in one

Boyfriend Phileas Fogg
He would be a great boyfriend or husband ngl. Even though he's very stoic and quiet, he still finds ways to show you affection.
He wouldn't show you affection in public too much but when he does, it's mostly subtle like soft squeezes to your hand, moving your stray hairs away, and help you adjust your clothes when they're in an uncomfortable position.
You should expect LOTS and LOTS of gifts, he's a wealthy guy with money and won't hesitate to spend a pretty dime on you. You'd frequently wake up to gifts next to your bed, accompanied with a little note. Which you always made sure to return with affection.
Sweet little notes left around for you—sometimes poetry, other times straightforward ones like “I love you.” Which never failed to make your heart melt.
He's very adventurous (he's the main character in a travel book cmon), so he'll often invite you on many of his expeditions outside and inside of the country.
True to his organized nature, he’s never late to dates, always punctual and often the one to plan everything down to the last detail. You barely needed to lift a finger when he's around.
Yet, behind his quiet demeanor, he has a romantic side. A side you can only see.

It seems I didn't post this More kids!!!
Character: Benedict Phileas Jonathan Fogg, or Benedict Fogg, to friends - Benny. Fandom: Around the World in Eighty Days (1972-1973) He is the only son of Phileas Fogg and Belinda Maze (now Belinda Fogg). A kind boy with a heart of gold. Polite, resourceful, fair, but as befits a child, he is also at times naughty, mischievous and playful (for the most part he can behave this way with Passepartout, among the rest he is an innocent angel). Excellent friendly relations with Fix, who by that time had corrected himself, and thanks to Benny, he slowly stops talking to himself.
***
Character: Jillian Skellington, aka Jill Fandom: The Nightmare Before Christmas Daughter of Jack and Sally Skellington. Like her mother, she was put together piece by piece. Among the Halloween Kids, she is the youngest and the only one who was not born naturally. A quiet, modest, but talented and well-read person. She plays the violin quite well and is interested in taxidermy. Good relationship with parents. Unlike Majoria, Jill considers PDP to be quite interesting guys and dreams of making friends with them (she also fell in love with Deimos at first sight and hopes that he will reciprocate her feelings. Still, Sally herself noticed good potential in the witch boy)
Well, and, in fact, their parents:

…And to think that I didn’t quite like the first episode and considered not watching the rest! Phileas Fogg turned out to be such a darling, so sad and so delightfully tormented. Yes, he’s not the Phileas Fogg from Jules Verne's book, cold-blooded and self-assured, but I gradually came to appreciate this version more. I have a thing for neurodivergent characters—and David Tennant always delivers :)

It’s been a while since I found a show as utterly charming and captivating as Around the World in 80 Days.  I’d never read the Jules Verne novel, nor had my husband, but he did take a moment to find out what had been changed from the source material.  A good amount, but not to the show’s detriment, (at least in this viewer’s opinion).  I also read a few review columns that seem to agree, claiming the series was a vast improvement upon the book, both in terms of plot and characterization.
Tumblr media
I loved it so much I don’t know where to begin… I mean, David Tennant is spectacular in everything, as he was in this.  The man is an extraordinary actor, seamlessly morphing from someone deserving a good throttle to someone in great need of a hug all in a matter of seconds.  But he should not overshadow the two other primaries, Ibrahim Koma as Jean Passepartout, and Leonie Benesch as Miss Fix.  One of the more endearing storylines in the show was the burgeoning romance between Passepartout and Miss Fix, and it was a delight to watch the two navigate their feelings toward each other.
Phileas Fogg’s friend bets him he can’t actually complete a trip around the world in eighty days, and the race is on, taking the unlikely trio through Paris, Italy, the Arabian Peninsula, India, Hong Kong, an unnamed island in the Pacific, and finally, America.  At each stop, one or more members of the trio bumble into predicaments and then are either saved by the other members, or they manage to bumble back out.  Through all the bumbling (often to comedic and tense effect), our characters learn about tradition, family, love, progress, and feminism.  One or more of these themes was central to the subplot at each geographic location.
Tumblr media
So, I thought it was perfect, then, that the only theme America had to offer was one of guns and racism.  That seems to be all we’ve ever offered.  I can’t emphasize enough how spot-on this choice was.  Hats off to the writers.
The series included a few instances of saccharine, family-appropriate vignettes (usually enough to turn me off), but something about the story, and David Tennant’s charming portrayal of Fogg, kept me happily riveted. Even my husband was won over (he approaches most of my period drama picks with a skeptical eye).
Tumblr media
Tennant is eminently watchable, and this show sealed the deal.  Going forward, I will watch David Tennant read the phone book.  Or something similarly dull, because they don’t make phone books anymore.  I will watch him in nearly anything.
This series was a fun little distraction. Find it on streaming; start with your PBS affiliate.

This idea has been bugging me for a while, so I decided to turn it into a thing and now you all have to suffer with me. (tagging @thinking-with-quadrants)
Welcome to the shitpost titled:
(drumroll please)
How is Phileas Fogg like a Disney Princess?
Item 1: Does he have magic hair?
Tumblr media
✔ Can we even argue the point?
Item 2: Magic hands?
Tumblr media
✔ You know it
Item 3: Do animals talk to him?
Tumblr media
✔ I mean... probably not saying anything nice, but... still counts right?
Item 4: Was he poisoned?
Tumblr media
✔ The proof is in the pudding... er... datura seeds
Item 5: Cursed?
Tumblr media
✔ Okay, not really, but... just humor me
Item 6: Kidnapped or enslaved?
Tumblr media
✔ Kinda?
Item 7: okay, we're skipping the making a deal with an underwater sea witch bit for obvious reasons, although I must say, I wouldn't mind seeing Fogg with a merman tail 😏
Item 8: Ever had a true love's kiss?
Tumblr media
✔ Oh, we're definitely gonna give him that one
Item 9: Have daddy issues?
Tumblr media
✔ And then some....
Item 10: Do people assume all of his problems got solved because a big strong man showed up?
Tumblr media
✔ *insert a shit-eating grin here*
Welp, I'm gonna go hide now
