If I were a criminal in the metropolis, I wouldn’t carry a gun. What would the point of that be?

Guns are loud . People see guns and they scream. Loud noises attract supermen.

The way i see it, we got a 50-50 shot with any crime. if Superman catches you what’s the gun gonna do? And if the regular police catch you, it’s just gonna be a way to change your robbery charge to an armed robbery/attempted murder charge.

 I don’t know man, if you really gotta be armed take karate, carry pepper spray. the only people who were going to try and hurt you are other criminals or scared citizens. And if you’re worried about them, just find a wacky outfit and pretend you have magic jazz hands or something.

In any DC comic, if someone walks up and tells you they have superpowers they’re probably telling the truth. Just lie.

Jerome/Jeremiah with a SO with a Speech Impediment

AN: Hello! I was wondering if you could possibly do headcanons with Jerome and Jeremiah where the SO has a speech impediment?

Ah yes I got you! Hopefully I covered it correctly. My mind kept getting confused while writing this.

This boy would not care if you had a speech impediment. He would love you no matter what.

The first time that you met either it was at Arkum or just at the GCPD he was HOOKED on you.

I mean who wouldn’t? A pretty face walking on by as he gets taken away.

After that he was determined to hear your pretty voice.

If you didn’t talk much his mission would be to hear something out if you.

“Come on doll, just one little squeak out of ya”

In the beginning he would be frustrated with how long it would take you to form a sentence without stuttering. But later down the line he would be patient and look at you with awe.

He would definitely yell at everyone to shut up at a meeting if you had an idea and were trying to say it out loud.

JEREMIAH

I think Pre!Jeremiah would be interested in what you have to say so he would just stay quiet while you tried to talk to him.

After Jeremiah gets sprayed I think he would have trouble waiting for you to form a sentence. He would get frustrated with how long it’s taking.

“Echo could do better forming a sentence than you!”

After he says that he feels bad. He knows your not stupid as all his followers, and it just takes you awhile.

He would come to apologize to you, rubbing your cheek. He would remember how he used to be infatuated with how you spoke.

“I’m sorry my dear. It’s just been frustrating with taking out old Jimbo. You know I love how you speak to me and brainstorm those little ideas.”

He would also shower you with gifts over the next few days as an apology as well.

Aliens/Zombies

Danny and his sister jazz would star gaze on the roof of Fenton Works when he was young, and ,while he could not verbalize it for the longest time, Danny knew that was the only time Him and Jazz could be normal kids. On those nights they where away from the judging eyes of the other kids at school who thought them weird and the concerned looks of the Adults who asked weird questions about who makes dinner. On those nights Danny and Jazz where just siblings looking at the stars, just a little brother and his big sister dreaming of what they would do when they grew up. Danny misses those nights so dearly.

Danny was just 14 when his life changed forever, just 14 when his dreams died with him. But he would not die, no, he had to see at least Jazz achieve her dreams, had to be there for her every step of the way like she’d tried to be for him. They got older, the world around them changed with them and Jazz went to college. Danny stopped being a hero, took up the idea of being a trauma therapist, he was with Jazz when she started working for the insane asylum Arkum. Danny watched as new heroes came to protect their world.

Danny was there from the beginning of the Dark Knight’s rise, watching, waiting. He applied to help this new Justice League as a therapist, he knew how tough it was to be a hero.

Danny had once dreamt of going to the stars, had once believed in getting to see earth from afar. Those dreams have long passed, but as Danny is shown the observation deck on his tour of his new work place that little part of him that still dreams finds itself home in this tiny room with little-to-no chairs and a veiw of home from so very far away.

The creation of the new “Watch Tower” was coming along nicely, or at least Jo’nn thought so. He’d been on earth so far from home for so long that he felt relieved with the operational status of the orbital spacecraft. Jo’nn was waiting on the observation deck for the tour of the last group of new hires to help the place operational and safe, he was just to make sure none of them acted too foolishly- or so Batman had implied.

Jo’nn was caught off guard by the wave of emotions that came into the room with the new hires. In fact it threw him off enough to literally take a step back, when Jo’nn came back to himself he tried to figure out who it’s coming from. As he peered at the group they all seemed to have the same emotions right about now, a sense of awe and accomplishment. As Batman lead the group further in the overwhelming emotions turned from the usual to a sense of home, and one that Jo’nn could relate to.

The only one that had a look that could be even similar was a tall man with black hair and blurs eyes. As it was described to Jo’nn, this was the new therapist. Jo’nn thinks someone so open would be good for the JL.

Bruce sat in his Bat Cave, looking over some evidence before getting distracted. His eyes widened as he felt her wrap her legs around his lap. The clown girl was brought in after serving her time at Arkum, and the detective wanted to see if he could give her a new lease on life and after some agreements between the two, have her help in his crime fighting.

He turned his head looking at her. She was smiling like she usually does, but she seemed almost vulnerable in a way, wanting to sit here like this. She looked like she had butterflies in her stomach.

"Can I help you with anything Harley?" He asked bluntly.

While standing on top of the Qlipoth in DMC 5 Vergil posed a very interesting question that got many people wondering: How would the story of DMC go if Dante and Vergil's positions were switched?

That is what I am asking you now to answer. How does this story go in a world where their positions are switched?

I have seen a variety of different takes on this concept, and all of them intrigue me. How different each iteration is from each other, and how similar they end up being from the OG twins. However, even if they twins switched positions on that fateful, firey day, the real question is how much would change. My answer?

Not a lot.

Dante would still struggle with isolation issues, only this time, they are so much worse. His demon side awakened to save him on that playground, but instead of accepting it, like Vergil, Dante would be fucking terrified. He'd run, hide, and hate himself even more than the OG Dante. Arkum would drag him to the Temen-ni-gru against his own will, and he would rather fall into Hell and save Vergil from the same fate than to continue to 'be a danger' to the human realm. The tree would never be an issue either, although Dante here would still split himself in two, mainly to be away from his demon half for good, even if it kills him. So the plot of DMC5 turns into Vergil chasing down the feral half of his twin while human-half Dante actively tries to stop him.

Vergil, on the other hand, is much more emotionally stable, though not by much. Vergil, instead of beating himself over the head about his need for power ot never be hurt again, is now beating himself up over his own perceived inability to protect those he loves. Dante was ripped from him for years, and he felt so alone that he willingly fell into Hell so that Vergil didn't. Not to mention Nero, who would be pretty different from OG Nero, with Vergil's presence in his life at least since DMC4 time, being in his life as well. Vergil would feel like he has to kill the feral demon half of Dante to both protect Nero and finally end Dante's suffering. But he does not want to, so he jumps at the chance to recomplete Dante instead of killing him.

So they fight, Dante gets recompleted, but is also pissed because he does not understand why Vergil would want him around. And Vergil has accepted that Dante wants to die, so he feels like he has to end his suffering. And they are both still stupid enough for Nero's brand of airing out issues to be needed.

I suppose my main idea is simply, 'the more things change, the more they stay the same.'

Bruce “I don’t need therapy” Wayne starts publishing articles anonymously and promoting them through an anonymous twitter account to vent out his feelings and frustrations with being a bad father. Jason, whom also uses an anonymous account, becomes a fan. They become each other’s editors and learn a lot about each other and themselves through this. It’s all going well until Tim discovers it’s Bruce’s account. (I’m actively writing this one)

After Tim rescues Bruce from the time stream, he doesn’t go back to Gotham. That is until almost a year later, when all the bats are kidnapped by Ra’s and Tim has to go save them.

Weird time travel weirdness and old Tim gets thrown back in time, back to his first couple weeks as Robin. (His small self is also in the future)

Dick not understanding why Tim is keeping the family at a distance, and Tim waiting for the moment he suggests they through him into Arkum again. Damian has had enough of this miscommunication trope bs and makes them talk it out.

Damian missed his mom but doesn’t want to make Bruce feel bad, so he bottles it up. His bottle bursts open in front of Jason.

Jason always wanted to learn how to play the violin, Catherine always said it was her favourite. So he made Bruce sit through painfully squeaky lessons and even worse rehearsals before patrol. Now Jason is a proficient player, but Bruce isn’t around anymore to see his progress.

Jason stole a bunch of Dick’s sweat shirts when he was younger, even though they were never close, it still gave him comfort to have a piece of Dick with him. Dick only finds this out about a year after Jason died. All because this was the one night he had the courage to open his bedroom door and finally try and learn something about his little brother.

Tim would purposely put himself in dangerous situations so Jason would save him as Robin. Tim finds out Robin is dead because it was the one night he didn’t go out and save him.

Jason saves a child from an exploding building but doesn’t mange to save their father. Self reflection ensues and leads to Jason showing up at Bruce’s bedroom door, sobbing his eyes out at 3 am.

(Arkum Knight) Jason is VERY insecure about the J brand on his cheek, Bruce is there to reassure him.

Jason follows in Bruce’s footsteps and adopts a child. There’s a few problems though. 1. The Bats still don’t know his identity 2. They have a habit of following him, even when he leaves for patrol 3. Even in his RedHood get up, they will always call him variations of “Jason” or “Jay”.

Even though Damian is better than he originally was, Tim is still terrified he will try and cut his line again. These fears boil over when Tim is adamant about not doing missions alone with Damian.

Bruce discovered that the full alcohol cabinet in his study has all been replaced with water. He’s determined to find out who drank it. Not because it’s his alcohol, he doesn’t drink, but because he’s concerned they weren’t doing it safely. (Alfred replaced it all so the kids wouldn’t get any ideas)

The family as a whole has discovered that Jason is very demanding of “princess” treatment by anyone and everyone.

They also discovered that Jason always needs a blanket wrapped around him at all times. (His body temp is permanently fucked because of the whole dying thing.)

Bruce is very morally opposed to the weirdest shit. Like yeah don’t kill people, that’s understandable, but threatening to throw someone in Arkum for liking oatmeal raisin cookies is.. also kinda understandable.

Jason likes to live his librarian fantasy by using reading glasses and putting them on the tip of his nose when reading.

Dick is still in the belief that Wally could still be alive, and probably always will be (Bruce is actively seeking a therapist for him.)

Damian has multiple sketchbooks filled with family portraits where Tim’s face is replaced by a random animal every page.

Damian always has 3 secret pets in the manor at a time, when one gets discovered, another one gets added. Alfred almost quit when he found a litter of 12 kittens in a random broom closet.

Alfred is more terrifying than the joker (confirmed by Jason)

Bruce had to say he has no favourites out of moral obligation, but he genuinely has no favourites because he hates them all equally. (Which is not at all)

Dick doesn’t cry or he full on ugly sobs. No in between.

Tim actually drinks coffee to help him sleep, not to stay up.

All of Jason’s nightmares take place in the manor. Which is one of the only reasons he refuses to move back in, because he wouldn’t know when his nightmares were over.

Every child just realized they all still actively seek out Bruce after a nightmare, even the children who no longer live at the manor (Dick will drive from bludhaven to Gotham just to curl up under Bruce’s cover like he’s nine again.)

things that have happened recently in Wayne Manor:

Alfred removed all the curtains to air then out and discovered someone has been writing on them for years.

Cow shaped hooveprints were found on the hood of Dick's car

Damian decided to move out for a good two days before showing up again, and had been clingy since, weird

Tim found out he has a gluten allergy and has been in a one sided argument with Alfred over it.

Someone thought it was funny to hid every single mug in the house in Duke's closet it was not at all he opened it and a fed of the fell over and broke.

Cass fell asleep on the couch only to awake up in a completely different part of the house, her brother's fighting over what animated barbie movie to watch. They chose the twelve dancing princesses of course.

Okay, I'm gonna do everything together, but i will preface this by saying i have a lot more exposure to some things than others, thus I will have varying degrees of 'much to say'.

DMC 5

I'm definitely biased for this (it's the one that got me into the franchise) but I digress.

FAMILY THEMES BABI MY FAVORITE THING

I just adore the main cast so much u do not understand. So much hype shit happens with em too, it's great. The characters are simultaneously over the top but also very real? Like Dante is the wacky woo-hoo pizza man but also horribly in control of his emotions and how to express them.

The Vergil reveal was so obvious but I dont care. It's good. The depths given to his character through V and Urizen are VERY good.

And NERO- lord everyone in this family has trauma

Also SDT was introduced in this game I'm sorry but no piece of DMC media will be able to top this because of it.

2. DMC 3

is anyone surprised

I love the bois so much, with their stupid catchphrases and horrible family dynamics. it's so weird looking at them like

I was nighteen once. I wasn't like them but I was nighteen.

Also the THEMES once again center around family, especially with the addition of Lady and Arkum. I also love this cast SO MUCH

except arkum fuck arkum all the homies hate arkum

Literally the only reason this is lower than DMC 5 is because no Nero, Trish or Nico. That's it.

3. Visions of V

i haven't talked about him much but I would also gently hold V (and by extension Vergil)

Really I just love this manga because of how much is shown and revealed through it. Everything is really visceral and hits so hard.

Literally everything in this manga stabs u in the feels especially the final shit GOOD LORD

but it really is tied with #4 because it can't really stand by itself? It needs DMC 5 to be whole, in a way.

4. DMC 4

I really wanted to put this above VoV but my DMC 5 bias shown through in the end IM SORRY

also yeah Sanctus as a villian is dogshit, i agree

and some characters REALLY needed more screen time (see: Credo, Angus, KYRIE) but also this game has the Shakespeare scene so....

also I just love Nero and his teen angst can u blame me

But GOD did Kyrie need more screentime

5. Before the Nightmare

Wow the DMC 5 bias strikes again, huh.

IDK man I just love the prequel shit. Like, Nico and Nero meeting is so fucking funny

Also Lucia makes an appearance for the first time since DMC 2 so thats cool

It also expanded the lore on how devil arms work through Balrog which I am SO thankful for.

Also Roc Goldstein exists now and everyone should know about one of the ONLY GOOD DADS in DMC history

Really the only other one I give my full respect to is Sparda, and he died when his kids were like, six. (Dante and Vergil r getting there tho, give em time.)

6. The Anime

Look Patty is the only reason this is so high I love her and if u look at my previous posts u can tell I love her and Dante's father daughter relationship u can pry it out of my cold dead hands

Also the lore with Sparda's apprentices, demon smoners being a thing, and the introduction to Morrison is very nice.

But also Lady was WAY off the mark almost the entire time, and the plot with Patty only really took center stage towards the end so :(

ALSO THEY DIDNT EVEN SHOW DEVIL TRIGGER IN FULL I WILL NEVER FORGIVE CAPCOM FOR THIS INJUSTICE

7. DMC 1 novel

This novel is weird because it was written before almost all of the other shit so Canon often either ignored it or bent over backwards to avoid it until the DMC 5 era

But I like it. All of the new characters r very good and I love them all.

Grues death STILL hits me in the feels so hard.

Dante has lost so many parental figures ya'll

One of the only reasons it's so low is because of Gilver, the fuck

He made NO fucking sense for the longest time until the timeline rewrite and the retcon that he's a Vergil clone.

That fits his character so much more bur looking at him as Vergil makes no fucking sense. Everything about his character contradicts what we know about Vergil, even back with only DMC 3 as a reference.

Despite those issues, i am very happy we are seeing some rep for this book in the games and other media. U do not understand the screech I let out when Grue's daughters were shown years later.

8. DMC 1

is this sacrilegious?

Yeah the gameplay is good and it was a hallmark of its time but also Dante is as stale as cardboard here I'm sorry

Like his plot is the most uniform and overdone revenge plot I have ever seen and his relationship with Trish....

it's funky in this game, let me tell u. Thank whatever higher power exists that they leaned more towards siblings in later installments because I would be pulling my hair out otherwise.

But the quips r also really good and all of the Nelo Angelo stuff is my favorite part of the plot, so I guess that evens out?

This game was a very good launching point for the rest of the series except u know what

9. Deadly Fortune

Uhhh yeah it's just.... DMC 4 again with some things changed?

Honestly the reason this is so low is because of my preferred way of absorbing story is through video games than manga.

It's okay. Not trash or anything. It's just alright

10. DMC 3 Mangas

They're ... fine? I guess.

Like the first meeting between the twins in YEARS is very good, but also the manga is unfinished and all...

So I'll just leave it at that.

11. DMC 2 Novel

Gonna be honest I've never read this one.

So I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt

Yeah remember when I said Dante was cardboard in DMC 1? Yeah now he's silent, emotionless cardboard.

the villian is bad, the location is okay i guess, really the only saving grace for this games story is the concepts it introduces

Demon civil wars? Artificial demons created by people? Those are cool concepts! So cool that one was reused in a much better game, but I digress.

Honestly the story is probably one of the least sacrilege parts of DMC 2, and it still isn't the worst piece of DMC media based on story. That goes to our surprise contender....

13. DMC: Devil May Cry

DMC questions anon did NOT ask for this, but I'm putting it here so that everyone understands that this games story and characters are SO BAD that I'm putting UNDERNEATH DMC 2

But what can I say that hasn't been already stated?

Vergil is so far out of character he's basically an OC and his turn around at the end makes no fucking sense

Donte is an asshole who has functionally abandoned what made Dante likeable in ANY GAME

The plot itself is the most rehashed 'the government is evil and we must resist it' plot EVER

Even the new shit they added for this game doesn't even fucking work well.

Having demons that look like angels be the antagonists is much more interesting that just having angels and having them do NOTHING

Kat is literally the only thing that I don't have a super negative opinion on because she was NEW and I hadn't watched them fuck up a character I love. They just made a mediocre one at best

Needless to say, I utterly despise the plot of this game with my entire being.
