Bought myself an arizona iced tea but i dropped it on the sidewalk on my way back to my client's apartment
Now i don't wanna drink it until i can get home and rinse it off and get a straw and stuff lol
On the upside, only a dollar as usual so. Maybe i will buy myself a treat later.
Also i need to reach out about my ebt card because it never showed up. Pretty sure it should've gotten here by now so I BET THEY SOMEHOW SENT IT TO THE OLD ADDRESS DESPITE THAT I HAVE NOT USED THE OLD ADDRESS IN ALMOST A YEAR.

FYI for those on EBT : you can use your card at certain unexpected places
Papa Murphy's Pizza (you'd need an oven)
Amazon gives discounts
Gas stations
Subway sandwiches (in person)
Deli foods at the grocery store (some restrictions)
*According to the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (the Act), eligible foods are defined as any food or food product intended for home preparation and human consumption, including seeds and plants that produce food
You cannot use your Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card at restaurants to purchase hot food or food intended for immediate consumption unless your state participates in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) that serves the elderly, disabled, and/or homeless, and you are part of this target population. Currently 9 states (Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island and Virginia) are the only states eligible to participate. *

If you receive SNAP benefits (EBT food stamps) check to see if your state participates in the Double Up program. You can purchase twice as many fruits and vegetables! Basically buy one get one free.
This includes purchases at participating vendors at farmers markets in most areas, so you can buy local and benefit the community while also getting twice the amount of produce (the farmers are reimbursed, so they're not loosing out)
(Check this site for the exact details of the program in your state, as it does vary)
Don't forget that in the summer, households with school age children receive additional benefits to cover for not having school provided meals. This is a boon in the summer, paired with Double Up program. There are so many fruits and veggies that can be canned or frozen. (personally I go with freezing bc we have the space and canning is not fun in the summer)

Georgia farmers markets many also have the double value EBT! And it works exactly as the same with like no hot food but yes to literally any other food. I can't get a Peter wrap but I can get hummus at the same place with my tokens. I can get non-gmo, organic frozen meat, eggs, veggies, cake slices, etc. no drinks at the market, but it works for drinks in the grocery store like already bottled Gatorades or Arizona green tea
foodstamps themselves are BASED, especially if you live in california. pls update your misconceptions about them, theyre not limited like they used to be! almost any grocery store outside of specialty stores uses EBT including fancyass places like wholefoods. some specialty stores do, but you have to ask before you go. i found out hmart takes EBT and its great, i get specialty korean groceries for free.
theres very few things you cant get. alcohol and hot food, but the hot food one is kinda fuzzy, sometimes things count and other times they dont. you kinda have to find out by buying it and seeing if it takes your card.
you CAN get snacks and chips and junk food, ice cream, desserts, ive gotten a whole ham, tri tip, a wholeass prime rib, etc.
if youre unemployed and disabled GET ON EBT NOW especially if youre in a richer state because you will have so much ebt that you will have extra and no idea what to do with it except treat yourself. i eat at trader joes and whole foods and hmart every month without running out of money most of the time. i am by no means living in luxury otherwise, but my food situation is GREAT and i live a little in excess ngl im grocery spoiled. theres a chance you too could get this.
dont delay. get on food stamps. NOW!

In the states of Arizona and California, all the items in these window advertisements at this Phoenix Jack in the Box location can be purchased with government Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) EBT card funds (also known as food stamps) via the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP). In all states, all recipients can use SNAP EBT funds at grocery stores to purchase soda. “It’s been estimated that just removing soda and other sugary drinks from the SNAP program (formerly known as Food Stamps) would prevent hundreds of thousands of cases of obesity. Through the program, the soda industry is snatching up billions of taxpayer dollars every year. The USDA has denied state requests for excluding soda from SNAP, arguing, “No clear standards exist for defining foods as good or bad, or healthy or not healthy.” The fact that the federal government can’t even agree that sugar water is unhealthy explains a lot about the sad state of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines. Industries argue that removing soda subsidies would disproportionately hurt the poor, like tobacco taxes. Of course, the public health community sees ending the subsidies as disproportionally helping the poor, but it might be more consistent to restrict the use of federal dollars across the board, such as at cafeterias in federal buildings and military bases, for example. When those actually affected by the policy were asked (what a concept!), the majority of SNAP participants surveyed supported removing sugary drinks, especially if it led to additional benefits for healthful foods like fruits and vegetables. Obesity, like lung cancer, is not an equal-opportunity killer. Those living in poverty are significantly more likely to become obese. Predatory industries such as fast food, alcohol, and tobacco have long targeted low-income neighborhoods and communities of color. The soda industry appears to be no exception. As one tobacco industry executive was recorded saying, “We don’t smoke that s***. We just sell it. We just reserve the right to smoke for the young, the poor, the black and the stupid.”” — Dr. Michael Greger, MD, FACLM, in ‘How Not to Diet,’ 2019 (@michaelgregermd; @nutrition_facts_org) (at Jack in the Box) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnHr0JAJ_bf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hello so I frequently talk about living in California on this blog and considering the fact that some people in neighboring states may have sudden unspecified reasons for wanting to move or travel to California I thought I'd put together some links that might be helpful:
Apply for CalFresh (EBT)
Apply for MediCal (only available certain times of the year, but you can apply for an exception)
Register your vehicle for CA
Cheapest cities to buy a home
Cheapest cities to rent
Page for the Planned Parenthood clinic in Coachella off the 10, in case you want to, you know, visit a friend who works there. Did you know that happens to be the closest abortion clinic to Arizona? Just a fun fact.
Expedia page for the cheapest hotels in Indian Wells because you'll need somewhere to stay while you visit your friend and everything in Coachella is pricey
The .gov site for Joshua Tree National Park because it's also off the 10 and because it's one of my favorite places on Earth. It's also a great place to take lots of photos you can show your family who might be wondering why you decided on a sudden trip to California!

jfc say goodbye to ur teeth?? oh my god. anyway me again more questions! what was your childhood home like? how many laps in the pacer test can you run? what's your favourite movie genre? do you get scared easily by old horror movies, or are you immune to cheap jumpscares?
i moved around a lot! never had a solid childhood home. the home i think most fondly about was the one we had when i was... oh gosh. i must’ve been like 8-9? it was a two story apartment. i remember it smelling really nice, having carpeted stairs that i could stick my hands through and grab at my sibling’s feet from underneath it. it was right next to a corner store we would walk to for arizonas and snacks, and a pizza hut across the street that took EBT so we could actually get pizza for dinner a lot! it had a backdoor that led out into a big courtyard with all these other apartments surrounding it and i loved going out to play in it after dinner when it was twilight. we didn’t live there long but it’s still my favorite place i’ve ever lived :-]
uh... probably. 3-4. when i was still in highschool maybe 5? i fucking hate running tho i’d probably just run away from it sjdgfjhsdgfs
i really really like sci-fi and superhero movies. mix the two and it’s a surefire way to get me to hyperfixate unless it’s genuinely a bad movie. but again, my standards are low, i got hyperfixated on marvel because of endgame + far from home and i dont like either of those movies.
i dont watch horror movies. i LIKE the horror genre but i dont. watch it jksdgfkjsdf i just dont watch movies in general unless it’s something i’ve been hyped for or its just someone doing a lets play of a horror game. im not grossed out by gore or anything (unless its irl gore obv) so i wont get scared by that stuff, but jumpscares are very hit or miss w me i think.
