He thought he heard a voice. It sounded familiar, but it didn't seem to be that clear for a moment...

...then he remembered her: Long, dark hair and two orange horns that poked through it.

That...was what she looked like, right? Perhaps. Then again, there wasn't much left for thinking. He willed his eyes to open, but nothing came of it.

Usually, there wouldn't be much to it. After a few moments, he'd pop back up with a burst of rainbow light that came about whenever something like this happened. But...

In the spur of the moment, he had pushed her aside before a rather large arrow hit her, which instead was sent through his torso and through...many things.

There was that one ancient rule that those like him abided by...

If the death suffered was deemed Heroic...

ACT I: THE RED ROOMS II (including in-character player RP)

TW: Auditory depictions of murder, whispering, blood splatter, and glitchy/staticky noises + images of blood, violence, gutspill, murder, enucleation

As the discussions of who murdered Crux go on, people start to feel watched and notice people following them as they're looking for clues. One of the players, El, found several eyes plastered all over their home on every surface possible as a threat. Additionally, one of the members, Izotl began to act a bit weird, being withdrawn and nervous, and the group pass it off as worry. As the players have another emotional talk with Sylvan, Sylvan vents about wanting to get his hands on the murderer and make them suffer. It didn't take long until people started getting suspicious about Izotl since they matched descriptions of the perpetrator in Strawberries and mentions surrounding "Claws" as the only person in the group who matches the look of the first clue is a jaguar, which Iz had a violent "spirit"/side named Jag, and had accidentally murdered Crux.

As they continued to read over their evidence and make connections between the "gods" in, upon visiting the Red Rooms again, its told in the chat that the players feel watched. They began to explore the four infinitely looping rooms--each of them containing blurbs from or about the "entities" in question, and in each personal "island," there were audio discs that depicted how each of the "entities" perished with more song lyrics and clues, now people discovering Crux was not the only victim.

People also notice with Crux's island, his body that was once there was dragged off with a blood trail leading to the void. (Video was too large for Tumblr, hosted on YT with timestamps.)

On Arietta's Lunar Pillars, in the chat it says you can hear faint sobs from somewhere. In Esmeralda's Celestial Woodlands, it says the land reeks of corruption. In Crux's Zen Garden, you find a trail of blood next to the tree, and a hidden door in Crux's tree to Iz's Island, saying you notice a glint coming from the small house as you're taken to their island where there is a book called Petunias and a copy of a Soul Revival Book.

Finally, in Soliana's Solar Runes, the corruption was spreading more and more. When they visited Iz's island, they got the confirmation that they were guilty. Jackson and Ember confronted Iz about this, and they broke down and eventually ran away when their interrogation ended up being a little more intense, unable to come to terms with what they did, even if it was an accident.

After this subtle change and threat, El goes missing after revisiting The Red Rooms. Kami notices that Ember didn't come back and the unknown group, vaguely known as "the cult" drops a cryptic image of El's corpse with their eyes removed, surrounded by people in cloaks outside of Crux's library because according to them, they "knew too much" and did that as a warning.

Jackson and Jackie found Ember's corpse outside of Crux's library next to a box with El's eyes in them, and it seemed to be bound to a type of talisman, which they'll use later. —————

Spaceverse art!

Okay so I haven't decided exactly how I'm organizing these yet, but here's my first batch of the Spaceverse art posts! I've got a backlog of at least 205+ artworks to archive for this, so I had to get started somewhere. This is the original RP (and basis for my novel in progress) that I write with my friend Sakume, dating back some years now (maybe since 2019?) I don't have a title for the novel yet, so this is simply known as Spaceverse for now.

These characters originally came from some old forums we wrote on (circa 2006 at the start), and one day I came up with a new AU for them in a completely new space fantasy setting, with a new plot and new origins for the characters. I asked my friends Sakume and Cookie to participate, and this story was born. Cookie no longer actively writes in this RP with us, but some of their characters still show up in the art here and I'm very grateful for their contributions.

Sakume and I still write together and are adding new characters all the time! :) I grouped this batch of art to include sketches that mainly featured characters hailing from the planet of Illumina or the moon sanctuary of Nova Lux.

In order here we have: sketches of Cadenza, Altair/Vivace (her sister in the novel version, unrelated in the RP but may retcon, also Fabi/Alex's late mom and Anton's late wife), then Cadenza's daughter Luisa and a sketch of Cadenza in prison back on the Vault where it all started. Then we have Luisa and (spoiler!) young/child form Dawa, Cadenza with Adam, Adam himself, and then a bunch of sketches of their family together. Following that, we have Queen Venus (aka Elena), Cadenza's mom Sonya, Sonya with Leona, Xiulan, sketches of Cadenza and a masked Xiulan, Mingzhu, Joan (not an Illumin character but hey she ended up on my sketch page back then), older/adult form Dawa, young Dawa, Mingzhu, Cadenza's dad Galliard, Louis (another non-Illumin here to fit page space), Cadenza's sister Luminari, Cadenza herself, Lu with her husband Jaster, Simha (revamped character to replace Leona) and then Cascadia Riveria (Faer character, but happened to be on that sketchbook page.) Then lastly a few pencil sketches I missed, Xiulan, Mercy with Ramiro, Luminari and Cadenza, and some of my initial concept sketches of Spaceverse Cadenza and Luisa.

At the very end, we have some much older sketches that predate this RP, with Mother Carla, Ancient Ren of the Order, and Cadenza's late husband Paris (along with a sketch of Cadenza from a previous story where she was a human mage with shadow magic), previous versions of Vivace, Algretta, Luminari, Arietta, Cadenza, Sonya, Galliard, Reymundo, Izumi, Xiulan, Sarai (an angelo who hasn't appeared in the RP yet, but I might adapt), Shui Ya of Nova Lux, and Fletcher (a Faer character, but he happened to be on this page.) I still need to draw many of these characters some new portraits as their phantasm selves in this storyverse/setting, but I'm saving these older drawings for reference.

Some characters are going to show up that don't quite fit into these groupings because I tend to just draw whoever I feel like on my paper that fits before scanning them in. x3 Sometimes I edit them after to reorganize, but often times not.

Adam and Jaster belong to Sakume, and Leona and Joan belong to Cookie. The rest of the characters belong to me, but big credit to both of my friends for their help developing the world, organizations and characters, particularly in this case, Cookie brainstorming the Order of Lux Aeterna/Nova Lux with me, and Sakume brainstorming so many of the Vault characters and more.

Also small side note: I've been using the surname "Madrigal" since 2006 for Cadenza and her family waaay back on Zelda Universe forums, but I'm super happy it's way more popular a name now thanks to Encanto and I do love that movie. The movie was in no way a basis for these names, but I love to see more Latin culture and names in media, so I'm all for it. ^_^

Eoghan: Easy to play & joke in vapid nonsense. Superficially one note, but has backstory to inform his Weirdness though I'd rather not show it / he's fairly well-adjusted. 🤔Just having the element to reference is nice, and being cheery amid angstier folk is fun.

bom!Haruka: Angst & Amnesia combo. Didn't want a 1:1 to rl grief, so had IC reasons to dull emotions and their loss. On the surface they're comically gap moe (easy to play) and most ocs wouldn't know them past that. But they had unconscious layers that informed their heart, perhaps in... unfortunate ways. (Fun)!

aa!Haruka: WIP, may need to change much of what I enjoyed in bom!version (alas).

· introverts' my preferred, but engaging others & trying not to leave All the legwork to them can be as tough as attempting to drive the rp-convo via an extroverted oc... (for i am Not) 🗿 · All have personality Contrasts that others may read only the superficial (as intended). But I too forget nuances as a result. LOL

Arietta & weedy: Both still 1-note atm as npc/neglected theatric extroverts. 'Voice' is likely too similar rn...

Stitches: I've trouble Being Mean so I backpedal like a COWARD. His inherent tsun & edginess makes me cringe even though that's the point. Easier to comic than rp.

Lilie (& Lewy): Passive Aggressive (cannot do that anymore). Reserved, pessimistic, but who also try to step out of their shells. Headspace takes a bit of warming...

· twins Leith & Liam: 1-int jokes that'll Press the Red Button & have Bad Opinions, but also gooey feelsy inside. I enjoy that they can act independent of others with their different strengths, while still falling under my mun need to hold hands w/ someone.🤡

· struggles with their Words (or lack thereof). Liam is too chatty, Leith takes much effort to convey. But still a fun struggle at the end of it all, as their relations with other peoples' ocs made them so.

I tend to make ocs that ignore or skim feelings, so twinnies being overly guided by emotions has been a fun (if embarrassing) change.

A Feather, A Blade [Closed RP]

As 2 AM neared, the bartender called out for the last round of drinks to be bought. As a surge of people approached the bar, they seemed to instinctively avoid her, flinching away when they realized that they got too close. Perhaps it was her clothing, dark in color and multi-layered, easily concealing a weapon. Or perhaps it was her eyes, teal in color and glued to her glass, haunted and distant. Or perhaps they caught a glimpse of the tattoos, just barely able to be seen from the neckline of her shirt, the black a startling contrast from the deathly pale of her skin.

Whatever it was, it kept them away, like sheep from a wolf. All the better, in her opinion, the last the she needed was for someone to approach her and aggravate her. As she sat there alone, she drowned in her own thoughts, that fact just being enhanced by their avoiding her. While she valued time to be alone and able to think in peace, it bothered her that people would flinch away from her even subconsciously. But most people were like that. And yet, in her peripheral vision, she caught a glimpse of someone walking towards her, but only a glimpse before they vanished as another surge of people clambering for their final drink rushed forward. A nervous knot formed in her stomach as she lost sight of them, and she couldn’t push her mana out to try and sense their presence as there were too many people in the bar still. Now she was frustrated and nervous.

Quick note: Some of the islands are corrupted and broken in these photos which actually happened after the second Red Room Pass. Beforehand, they were all intact beforehand.
