Falling Into Empty Space

A/N: This takes place between chapters 30 and 31 of my Jazzprowl fic Iridescent, but you shouldn't have to read that for this to make sense. Hope you guys enjoy!

As they sneaked through the Ark's cavernous corridors, Optimus was remined of all the times he and Elita used to hide from Alpha Trion amongst the winding shelves of the Iacon library. It would be improper for his fellow Autobots to see their leader debauched against the walls of the Ark by their Second in Command, but Optimus tried his best to keep his hands to himself as he allowed Elita-One to tug him towards his quarters.

As always, he failed.

Fortunately, the corridors were mostly empty. Most mechs were no doubt still at Jazz's party. So it didn't take long for them to reach his quarters.

Elita opened his habsuite door, his codes unchanged since the last time he'd seen her.

As soon as it shut behind them, her lips were upon his, and he gladly gave in. Her strong frame pinned him back against the door. The Prime felt his knee joints go weak, as her glossia dominated his. She wrapped herself around his denta, biting down on his lips.

Reluctantly, the pair came apart before their vents could overheat. Optimus took the chance to admire the soft blush to Elita's faceplate as he gazed down into her blazing blue eyes.

Even after all these years, it still felt odd to have to look down at her. Before the Matrix upgraded his frame, she had been the tallest out of them both. It didn't feel right that he had to look down at the mech who's greatness should tower above them all.

Whilst he knew first hand that Elita could carry him, Optimus didn’t want her to have to hold all his weight, so he guided them towards his berth before his knee struts could completely give out.

Optimus' habsuit was the largest on the Ark. He had tried to argue against it. But his soldiers wanted only the best for their Prime. and after being consistently being locked inside by the likes of Jazz, he had finally accepted it. Something that he was currently grateful for, as despite the extra space, there was barely room to fit the both of their large frames, as they fell onto the bed.

It felt like they were a pair of hormonal mechlings, rolling around on the berth between fits of giggles as they continued their exploration of one another. And when Elita graciously straddled herself across his waist, Optimus' own hands took the opportunity to go bolder as he dug his fingers into the seams of her hips. He couldn't help his grin at the groan that escaped her lips.

However, his exploration faltered when his fingers felt the scars of a blaster wound.

It was from a life time ago. Elita had still been called Ariel back then, girlfriend to the librarian Orion Pax. She had been as brilliant then as she was now, but to most she would appear to have been a simple dock worker, supposedly caught in the wrong place at the wrong time during one of the Decepticons first attacks.

She had always been one to see the light out the dark and had taken advantage of her extensive injuries to request a full frame reformat. Officially, Ariel lover of the newly appointed Prime had died that day. And in her place was born Elita-One.

Elita, having no doubt felt his falter, didn't hesitate to to place her hand over his own, guiding him back to massage her deepest seams. Her smile telling him what she had already told him a thousand time that, she did not blame him for Megatron's attack.

They continued their exploration, but this time it was Elita's touch that made him falter, as her servos traced the line where the seams to his spark chamber met.

"What's wrong?" She asked and Optimus had to look away from the concentrated concern in her optics.

All he had ever wanted to was bond with her. They had even been engaged too, once upon a time. But then the Matrix chose him and all those dreams were gone. He had never questioned why in all the generations of Primes, none of them had ever conjunxed. Like most, he assumed it simply that they had been too busy carrying out the will of Primus to have the time to find a mate. It wasn’t until the Matrix had fused itself to his spark that he had learnt the real reason why.

His spark was not his own anymore. Now it was a vessel for the heart of Primus. And therefore impossible to bond with anyone else.

For a long time, Optimus had feared that this meant that he was incapable of love, fulfilling his own self imposed prophecy by distancing himself from his oldest friends like Ratchet and Jazz. And keeping Bumblebee, the sparkling that he had raised since they were a newspark at arms length when he should of been holding them close.

And of course trying to save his former lover from his already broken spark by sending her away. But as always, she had been too stubborn to listen. And as they had many times before after too much cheer and high grade, she once again warmed her way back into his berth.

Not that Optimus needed much convicting. And that just made him feel all the more guilty.

"I can't give you everything we want." He whispered, the rumbling of his voice feeling unnaturally loud in his quiet room.

He didn't resist when she cupped his face, gently turning him back so that he was with the strength of sincerity in her eyes.

"You are giving me everything you can. And for me that is enough." Elita told him, her voice as strong and steady as it always was. "Is that enough for you?"

Optimus pressed a kiss to her palm.

"You were always more than enough for me."

A/N:

I really liked Optimus and Elita's relationship! I hope we get to see more of it in any sequels to Transformers One!

I also find the idea of spark bonds to be very interesting and it made me wonder if Optimus would be able to spark bond to anyone else if he was already bonded to the Matrix???

Oplita Backstory HCs

I'm using TFP Universe because I'm mostly familiar with it, still not too much, but still. I guess it applies to other iterations maybe, idk.

Anyways, for starters.

~ It's complicated

~Srsly, this is probably very long. Maybe....?

~ I'd like to think they knew each other since they were kids.

~ Let's say Orion worked at a local archives ever since he was a kid. Practically grew up there, and he loves it.

~ Let's say Ariel sucks at school (if Cybertronians even have education) and goes to archives daily after school to study

~ Naturally since barely anyone his age visits the archives, Orion notices her and her struggles

~ Their first official contact is Ariel not being able to find a certain datapad, and like, she asked Orion for help and he just pulled out a datapad that was already on her table. She blushes and thanks him.

~ So yeah, study buddies.

~ The idea here is that Ariel never liked asking for help because it would make her look incapable and she's embarrassed about it. But Orion treats her so gently she finds herself asking for help from him so often.

~ He practically indirectly raises her confident levels in terms of asking for help from others. Whaddya know? It worked.

~ Orion on the other hand is getting smitten over time ( by that I mean up until the teens). I think he's a guy who's practically chill with everyone but is okay to not have someone looking forward to see him.

~ While Ariel isn't necessarily doing that, he appreciates that she even CONSIDERS coming to the archives to have him guide her through her studies.

~Orion thinks highly of her really. He likes how she's straightforward and blunt. And she's always nagging him for being messy despite him being an archivist.

~ Ariel doesn't think much of him, but every time Orion makes her blush or smile, it is a core memory

~TIMESKIP TO ADULTS

~ Ariel graduates, so she has no more reason to see Orion, and Orion is now on full duty as a clerk at the Hall of Records as a new promotion

~Orion misses her, but she still comms him every now and then. Every once in a vorn? Idk

~ Ariel herself doesn't know why she does that.

~ I genuinely can't stray away from the idea that Ariel might've been a gladiator like Megatronus (THIS IS THE TFP UNIVERSE, REMEMBER THAT) because she just have the same edges and design like him based on the fan tfp design I found on the internet when I was drawing her

~ Like, picture this, Megatronus brings Orion to the Kaon Gladiator Tournament or smth and-

~ "ARIELLLL?!!!!!"

~ Unintentionally got her distracted and got punched by her opponent, but she still won.

~ They reconnected once more, and Orion was always in the crowd whenever she's fighting

~ Megatronus is left bewildered to find someone enamored and infatuated with Ariel. WITH ARIEL.

~ "Do I look good? I mean, I had my armour polished just for today. Also, did you see her uppercut that guy to the wall? I swear, she is so good. With her bare hands! It's like, how is it such a femme exist on Cybertron?"

~ Orion gets out of character at the sight of Ariel lol.

~ "FOR THE SAKE OF PRIMUS. JUST fragging ask her out already. You are INSUFFERABLE."

~ With that push, Orion asks Ariel out to dinner. One that Orion subtly made sure that it didn't seem like a date to her. And thankfully, Ariel really thought it was just a dinner.

~ With a bot whom she's starting to care for. And eventually the feelings are getting passionate.

~ Said dinners started happening more frequently too, that it becomes a daily routine

~ Orion knew she was the one. He's just waiting for the right moment. He's always subtle with his advances, mainly small compliments and cheers as well as Energon refreshments after her fights. He didn't want Ariel to find out just yet, and bold of him to even assume that would work.

~ Ariel is still contemplating, but she's sure and certain of her feelings as well. She loved Orion's nerdiness, his passionate spark, his determination...his genuine care for her.She loves the way he looks at her, because it was purely out of adoration.

~ They're pinning each other so hard, they don't even realise it lol

~ Yada yada yada, war happens, so unfortunately.

~ Ariel, having wanting to cut ties with Megatron as a gladiator, changed her name to Elita and followed Orion.

~ Absolutely one of the Autobots best fighters.

~ After Optimus becomes a Prime, only then was he confident enough to confess his love and was sure enough to have Elita as his Conjunx Endurae.

"Have you....waited this long?"

"....I wanted to be as compatible as you. As strong as you. As confident as you. I can't bear to ask for your hand if it means I can't catch up with you."

".........Orion. You're enough as you are. Prime or not, you're the same bot who lent a hand in finding the data when I, embarrassingly needed it. You helped me in the littlest of things, most of which I couldn't do. Nothing, and I mean, nothing, can compare to that. Do you want to know why?"

"...Why?"

"You've been there. And you're here. All for me. While anyone else would go away and not think much of it, you came back. And again. And again."

"....Heh. Funny. I thought you were the one who always came to me."

"And I did. When we were young. Because I grew to trust you. And care for you....and I grew to love you."

"Elita..."

"I love you. So please. Be mine."

"....I love you too."

I feel like the most important aspect of a relationship is the ability to put up with one another. The good sides, the bad sides. The very messy sides. The sides where you just want to rip it off of you. A good relationship is not just "I love every inch of you", but it's also, "I want to be there for you through every ups and downs.".

I'd like it if Optimus and Elita's relationship mainly focuses on trust, comfort, equality and support. They need each other's shoulder to cry on, and from it, their love can grow and grow.

I have to tell you, I never read the other comics or series because I can't get any access to them. So this may be out of character. Sorry.

Edit : Also, I might be adding so many new HCs over time because there's still some things to be made clear. So when you come back, there's a few new sentences lol

Orion: *throws self off a boat with the force of a thousand suns and breaks his shin*

Orion: *gets himself banned from A3’s Archives for stealing shit from the restricted section*

Orion: *flirts with Ariel, then falls off said boat, and whacks his head on the dinghy’s seat, drunkenly screaming “I’m good!”*

Orion: *accidentally slams hand in drawer of captain’s desk, breaking it, remains silent for a minute, then proceeds to scream at the top of his lungs*

PUNTATA 5: ELITA ONE, la robot guerriera per eccellenza

Fra le primissime Fembot ad apparire nell’universo dei Transformers, la più famosa è certamente ELITA ONE, che esordisce nella storica puntata Alla Ricerca di Alpha Trion come capo della resistenza Autobot contro i Decepticon su Cybertron, dopo che Optimus Prime e Megatron partirono dal pianeta per finire sulla Terra. Nel vecchio doppiaggio italiano la chiamavamo “Elita Uno”, ignorando del tutto l’etimologia effettiva del nome. Esso, infatti, rispecchia quello della sua controparte maschile sia nella pronuncia sia nel significato di “ottimo” e “primo”; più specificamente, “Elita” è un derivato di “elite”, a sua volta dal latino electa, che vuol dire “colui/colei che è stato scelto/a”. Quindi, potremmo dedurre che il nome di questa Fembot è traducibile in “La Prescelta”.

Nome a parte, ciò che ha reso famosa Elita One nella G1 (oltre a essere leader delle Femmine Autobot e una Bot che “non conosce la paura”), è il suo legame affettivo, quasi al limite del sentimentale, con Optimus Prime, nonostante tale scelta rischi di cadere nella trappola dell’incesto. Come i fan di vecchia data sanno, infatti, nell’episodio della Stagione 2 L’Alba della Guerra i due (al secolo Ariel e Orion Pax, rispettivamente) furono ricostruiti dall’anziano Alpha Trion utilizzando pressoché le stesse “componenti genetiche”, come se i due fossero fratelli ante litteram. I più, al massimo, potrebbero notare un’analogia nella mitologia antica, in quanto anche Zeus ed Era sono sì fratelli ma comunque coniugi e sovrani dell’Olimpo.

Sfortunatamente, Elita One non conserva altre controparti omonime all’infuori della “Movie” e della breve ma intensa apparizione in Animated. Nel primo caso, è attiva più nei fumetti che nel film dove effettivamente il personaggio debutta (il secondo della saga, La Vendetta del Caduto del 2009) e, estetici omaggi G1 sul cartaceo a parte, di certo la conosciamo meglio come la motocicletta viola “sorella maggiore di Arcee e Chromia e uno degli ufficiali più stretti di Optimus Prime” del Movie-verso di Michael Bay. La versione Animated del personaggio, invece, ha l’aspetto della forma iniziale di Elita One, cioè Ariel, di cui riconosciamo la caratteristica “coda di cavallo”. Lo schema cromatico utilizzato qui è però verde acquamarina e giallo – ben diverso dal rosa e bianco del personaggio G1. Sempre per strizzare l’occhio al G1, anche questa Elita One ha un potere speciale, sebbene di natura ben diversa: “prendere in prestito” e riprodurre fedelmente le abilità altrui, il che ricorda Rogue dei supereroi mutanti X-Men della Marvel. Inoltre, secondo quanto detto da Derrick J. Wyatt, il suo altmode avrebbe dovuto essere una futuristica auto Cybertroniana (ennesima citazione dell’omo-nima G1), se almeno si fosse salvata in tempo dalla mutazione biosintetica che di lì a poco l’avrebbe trasformata in Blackarachnia (di quest’ultima parleremo in una puntata apposita).

Il suo recente ritorno, almeno tra le pagine della IDW nella saga dedicata a Windblade, la riporta ad assumere lo stesso look aggiornato e migliorato della “vecchia” G1, molto rosa e bianca ma con una caratterizzazione molto diversa all’originale, poiché in questo universo viene ritratta come una spietata tiranna e carceriera, decisamente meno femminile e dolce. Per quanto riguarda le apparizioni su schermo, invece, segnaliamo la trilogia War for Cybertron, nuova serie in onda su Netflix che ripercorre la guerra sul pianeta natale dei Transformers in salsa G1-esca e in versione quasi integrale – e quindi con un sapore completamente diverso da quello a cui eravamo abituati dai videogiochi Activision/High Moon Studios. Eccola di nuovo come capitana della Resistenza Autobot e affiancata dalla storica socia Chromia, con l’assetto vintage un po’ stilizzato e un’inedita livrea sul rosso magari per distinguerla meglio da Arcee, che anche lei ha il rosa come colore predominante.

Ancor più infelice è il destino del personaggio nelle vesti di modellino Transformer. Per Elita One, infatti, non è mai stata prodotta alcuna figure che la rappresenti in nessuna iterazione conosciuta, neanche un modellino G1 della stessa. A omaggiare tale versione, semmai, è stato il Deluxe della linea Cybertron uscito esclusivamente per la BotCondel 2009, ma era solo un repaintdella Decepticon Thunderblast – una scelta, tutto sommato, non errata, data la forma della testa di quest’ultima molto reminiscente a quella dell’Elita One originale.

Anche la linea Movie le è stata particolarmente ostile: la Hasbro, all’epoca della linea legata al secondo film della saga, aveva più volte annunciato la presenza di questa Fembot (in classe Deluxe) assieme alle sue sorelle in modo che i fan potessero finalmente cercare di riprodurre il fantomatico Combiner che le tre motociclette avrebbero dovuto formare nella pellicola – una scena poi tagliata per ragioni tuttora sconosciute. Altrettanto ignoto è, invece, l’esclusione di Elita dalla linea principale, scatenando l’indignazione generale da parte dei fan... finché l’azienda l’ha “resuscitata” nel 2010 come repaint del Deluxe Chromia, anche se il risultato finale non soddisfaceva per nulla i più puristi, neanche la versione giapponese Takara con i colori più fedeli alla controparte cinematografica. Solo il set esclusivo dei negozi Target che la vede insieme alle altre due moto contro Sideways ridipinto ad hoc, e la figure inclusa assieme a Skids nella linea Dark of the Moon: Human Alliance del 2011 hanno in parte aggiustato il tiro. Una piccola luce in fondo al tunnel inizia a intravedersi grazie all’arrivo dei Studio Series, e in questo caso Elita One è venduta insieme alle sue sorelle moto come un trio in classe Legion, e “finalmente” col design fedele alla controparte Movie. Certo, la modalità Combiner è ancora fan-made, ma è rassicurante avere tra le mani un modellino scolpito come dovrebbe essere, seppur con dieci anni di ritardo!

Fino a oggi, per l’iconica leader delle Femmine Autobot non esisteva un effettivo modellino che la ritragga simile alla G1 o, volendo, una versione migliorata e moderna di quest’ultima. A parte l’ennesimo omaggio come carta collezionabile nel vecchio videogioco TRANSFORMERS: Legends per dispositivi mobili, in cui la si vede sì col suo look originale, ma con l’altmode di motocicletta col quale è diventata famosa (o famigerata, che dir si voglia) nella saga cinematografica di Michael Bay. Poi, finalmente, la macro-famiglia Generations ci propone non uno ma due bei modelli, un Voyager da Power of the Primes e un Deluxe da War for Cybertron: Earthrise. Purtroppo non sono stampi originali ma remold pesanti di personaggi preesistenti, ovvero quel mostro di Starscream da una parte e un’accettabile Arcee dall’altra... il che ha senso, poiché negli anni Ottanta Elita One aveva l’altmode di una quattroruote Cybertroniana. Rossa e bianca, ma pur sempre nostalgica.

CONCLUSIONE

Per quanto relativamente ancora rare, la scelta di proporci anche dei TF femminili allarga la categoria di utenza dei fan, avvicinando il franchise sempre più alla sempre più ambita parità di genere. Non siamo più portati a vedere i robottoni come prodotti esclusivamente per ragazzi, e questo ha anche ampliato il nostro modo di vedere il loro universo. Elita One è stata la capostipite, insieme alle sue colleghe, e poi vedremo l'arrivo di Arcee nel film dell'86... insomma, anche Cybertron assomiglia sempre più alla nostra Terra. Il che è un bene, secondo me.

when a soul goes to the pits, they sign their t-cog away meaning the t-cog slowly desintegrates. Rendering them coglessfor the rest of eternity, ripe to mine all day. If you know the musical, you know that the miners of hadestown loose their face and sense of self; the t-cog disintegrating is a representation of that. Truly signing their life away.

Solus Prime and Megatronus Prime are sparkbonded, she must spend 6 months (in earth vernacular) in The Pits (Iacon) with him, due to the fact that too long of a seperation would kill them both. She has duties as a prime upon top, just like he does in The Pits. This is my way of crossing over persephone's pomegranate incident lmao.

The primes take on very much a 13 olympians role, Solus being a forger; she takes care of the surface, "planting" her engineering, to say.

Iacon/Hadestown is ruled with the ideals of the decepticons, which obviously is not good and so not very. Whereas Orpheus in the musical very much has a "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" attitude, especially when he wishes to take the miners with him when he and eurydice leave the underworld, perfect for OP in my humble opinion.
