pov: you’re a several-hundred-year old vampire blood mage/alchemist travelling through the Deadlands, and your new daedrat companion won’t stop complaining about the conditions of his travelling accommodations...
(The dialogue is from when you click on Arox in your inventory once he jumps into your pack; I fairly often try to remember to try and click on quest items in the quest item section of the inventory in eso in case there are any extra effects, but rarely does anything seem to happen, so the extra dialogue for Arox was a really awesome surprise when I started playing the Deadlands quests last year (I really do need to get around to finishing up there at some point...)
Also, you can absolutely bet that Safinia (necromancer and the love of Arellius’s life) is standing off to the side laughing her ass off at the whole situation

Some of the various outfits of my Imperial couple Safinia (battlemage and necromancer) and Arellius (vampire and healer). The first two are their outfits for their travels together in Blackwood; the second are their more heavily-armoured imperial-themed outfits; the third are their Breton-themed outfits from their time helping the Ravenwatch; and the fourth outfits are their fancy town clothing for banquets and such.

Vampires! My various vampire characters from elder scrolls online that I’ve been doodling over the last month. Tried to draw them with their fangs out and such because it's the spooky season.
Short ramblings about them below:
(Top left) Vesunna Guinhael - Breton sorceress/witch and antiquarian. Part of the Ravenwatch.
(Top Middle) Valendil of the Shroud - Altmer necromancer. Voted most likely to brood at windows in the moonlight. He’s also very tall, even as Altmer go.
(Top Right) Karethys Eraishah - Dunmer Ashlander sorcerer warrior, particularly dedicated to Boethiah. Was a guardian of her clan. Still feels that urge to fight for and protect others even after contracting vampirism and her subsequent exile from her clan. Voted most likely to crush you with her two-handed sword.
(Bottom Left) Sigrun Ravenwing - Nord heavily-armoured warrior with shadow and ice magic at her command. Voted most likely to tear your throat out with her teeth.
(Bottom Right) Arellius Sabellius - Imperial gentleman, healer and physician. Generally a very amicable fellow but can also make you bleed from the eyeballs with blood magic if you get on his bad side. Has an uncanny knack for skulking around in the shadows and popping up behind people.
(Just realised Valeyn Marvani, my undead dunmer fire wizard is missing from here. I did mean to include him, but think he must have slipped my mind because although he’s technically a vampire in game, I imagined him more of of an undead, ash-vampire-ish type rather than a “true” vampire. Still, I feel bad that I missed him :( )

I’m very fond of crows, ravens and other corvids, so now Baron Jangleplume is now a very welcome resident at Arellius and Safinia’s home at Ravenhurst  (which also houses all the other raven/crow themed furnishings I’ve acquired in game; also Safinia also uses the Unfathomable Darkness set in game just for the awesome crow effect).

Not had a chance to play through much of Blackwood yet and taking a break again from questing while the event is on and everything is busier, but I do love what little I have seen so far of the scenery and side quests I’ve done - lots of wonderful castles, ruins, churches and ghosts, as well as some lovely background music that seems to remind me of TW3: Blood and Wine for some reason ^^

Some screenshots of Vesunna and Arellius being vampirish and modelling some of the new medium and light Greymoor motif pieces (Arellius still has his signature moon-patterned belt, of course). I’m especially in love with that high collar on the light armour robes.

Arellius’s new cold weather outfit for finishing his Greymoor explorations. I really like the new snowhawk mage style, lovely elegant sleeves suitable for a vampire and has a practical satchel on belt, as well as an interesting hood design.
(I used the Windhelm Scale Tunic shoulders for the fur shoulders)

Arellius is my Imperial vampire, skilled with blood magic and healing, as well as alchemy and cooking. He travels around Tamriel alongside his love Safinia, necromancer and former Imperial battlemage.
Layer 01: The Outside
Eye Colour: Naturally a very dark grey/black, but red when his vampirism is showing.
Hair Style / Color: Long, straight grey hair with a noticeable ‘widow’s peak’ receding hairline. Frequently tied back from his face while working.
Height: ~ 5 foot 10’ (~1.78m)
Clothing Style: Usually black or grey robes with lots of pockets and satchels for carrying medical supplies and other odds and ends. Often clothing that is local to the area (e.g. Breton style robes in while in Rivenspire, moon-decorated silk robes while in Elsweyr). He also often likes to wear imperial tunic/toga style clothing for special occasions. Also is quite fond of deep purples and reds in his clothing. There’s also usually some moon symbology in his clothing, such as his belt or staff, hinting at his connection to Azura.
He also has a cloak of shadows he enchanted himself; very useful for grabbing hopeful vampire hunters who might try to sneak up on him or attack him while he sleeps.
Best Physical Feature: His other half, Safinia, would suggest his very fine aquiline nose, or possibly his well-defined high cheekbones.
 Layer 02:
Fears:
- Very real fears: Isn’t terribly fond of fire for the obvious reasons. Will send Safinia to deal with any spiders in their cottage.
- Abstract fears: Further back in time it would have been losing control as a vampire. As an alchemist and physician in the Imperial City, when he first became a vampire he attempted to sate his hunger by paying for voluntary blood donations from suitable patients under the guise of research. However when a local became suspicious and organised a mob to kill him, he lost control. The next he knew they were all dead and he had incidentally murdered several people he had spent his career trying to care for.
He fled after that to the wilds for a time in an attempt to deprive himself of human blood. A series of events involving the Spirit Wardens in Stormhaven eventually led him to Azura, although his relationship to her is closer to that of a powerful patron than being religiously devoted, for the most part.
He has had better control of his thirst for a long time now, so losing control does not concern him quite like it once did. He is, however, very afraid that anyone he befriends for long enough (especially  Safinia) will find out about his past and see him for the monster that he was, and shun him for it. It is one of the main reasons why he has avoided staying for too long in one place before meeting Safinia.
Guilty Pleasure: Nice clothing. Doesn’t need to be ostentatious, but pleasant cloth and a good cut is very much appreciated. Bonus points for extra pockets. Also appreciates a good pair of boots.
Biggest Pet Peeve: Cleanliness (or lack of), as he has a very refined sense of smell as a vampire and finds strong smells rather distasteful. For similar reasons, he is also not fond of loudness.
Ambitions for the Future: Between getting involved with various adventures in Elsweyr and Skyrim, he and Safinia found themselves settling down in a small home in a village in Rivenspire. They he tends to the local’s illnesses and Safinia helps out with other issues (mainly of the ‘giant spiders have invested a nearby cave’, or the ‘Granny’s got back up from the dead again and is haunting our barn’ variety).
The residents have become used to the Ravenwatch presence in the area over hundreds of years, and while no one would out-loud acknowledge anything supernatural about Arellius or Safinia, the locals are generally more happy than many villagers in other parts of the world would be to turn a blind eye to any sign of fangs or strange magic because of the help and protection they provide. Arellius would like to return to that life on a more permanent basis in the future.
 Layer 03:
First Thoughts Waking Up: Blood, most likely. He’s still a vampire after all, albeit a very well-controlled one.
What They Think about Most:  Frequent thoughts include Safinia, his latest alchemy experiment, or how well his garden back in Rivenspire might be being taken care of by the locals in his absence.
What They Think about before Bed: These days, most likely Safinia.
What They Think Their Best Quality is: I think Arellius would have trouble answering this question if asked, but possibly his empathy?
 Layer 04:  Either Or…
Single or Group Dates: Single dates
To Be Loved or Respected: Respected
Beauty or Brains: Brains
Dogs or Cats: Both. He loves cats and dogs equally. They aren’t always so fond of him, mind you, what with being a vampire; but he tries his best to befriend them nonetheless.
 Layer 05: Do They...?
Lie: He tries to avoid it. He does not like others to think of him as dishonest. Although this does not mean he is adverse to a white lie if he thinks it will be of more help than harm.
Believe in Themselves: He comes across outwardly as very quietly confidant, but finds himself questioning his own decisions internally quite often.
Believe in Love: Being as old as he is, Arellius is hardly oblivious to the real life practicalities of love and relationships; however, his is still rather a bit of a romantic at heart.
Want someone: Safina, of course :)
 Layer 06: Have They…
Been on Stage: He’s lived a very long life, so most likely.
Done Drugs: Not as a vampire, as he would likely be afraid of how the loss of control might mean for his restraint of his blood thirst.
Changed Who They Were to Fit In: He is always making an effort to hide his vampirism: his fangs, his sense of smell and hearing, the fact that he walks oddly quietly. He does this both for his own safety and so as not to frighten others. One of the reasons he appreciates being around Safinia is that she is not troubled by such things.
 Layer 07: What’s Their…
Favorite Colors: Reds, deep purples.
Favorite Animals: Arellius is seen with wolves, who appear to have an affinity to both him and Safinia (possibly a connection to the moon and Azura, one could speculate).
Favorite Book: He has an extensive and eclectic collection of books on gardening.
Favorite Game:  Probably any games involving bluffing. Although by no means fool-proof, he can frequently make a good guess as to if someone might be lying by listening to their heartbeat.  He doesn’t usually gamble for money however with those who don’t know this fact beforehand.
 Layer 08: Age
Day Their Next Birthday Will Be: Not sure on this one, and to be honest Arellius has probably forgotten by now. He isn’t one for birthday celebrations, especially since becoming undead.
How Old Will They Be: Hmm, probably around a couple of centuries, maybe three.
 Layer 09: I…
I Love: Peace and Quiet
I Feel: Contemplative
I Hide: My fear
I Miss: the Imperial City
I Wish: It was easier to live with the mistakes of the past.
My brain’s stopped functioning and I couldn’t make a decision on who to tag, so tagging absolutely anyone else who follows me who fancies doing this. Seriously, I love reading about everybody's OCs!

Safinia, former Imperial battlemage, necromancer and reformed (brief) worm cult member, sporting the new Second Legion outfit style alongside the ebony blade.
(just wish those gold bits were dyeable on the shoulders and gloves; it goes well here I think, but as a general rule un-dyeable parts on outfits are the bane of my existence in just about any game ever.)

I got tagged by @sheirukitriesfandom. Thanks for tagging me! (Every time I see you post stuff about Tunon and your Tyranny OTP it really makes me want to play that game! (just need to find the time)).

 Brackets are my own additions.

*Out of the two, Safinia is the brooding cynical one, and Arellius the older vampire gentleman is the personable and optimistic one. When Arellius first encounters Safinia, he finds a woman determined to throw herself into very dangerous situations in order to save people, sword in hand and in a very self-destructive manner (despite her frequent claims that she is the more pragmatic of the pair). This eases off a bit the more they travel together (and Safinia becomes more used to living with the mistakes of her past), but she still has a habit of throwing herself in harm’s way; fortunately Arellius is always there to help patch up her wounds afterwards the best he can.
**Their relationship would definitely come under “slow burn”. Safinia was carrying a lot of guilt and regret after her brief foray with the Worm Cult in the Imperial City, and Arellius, who had in the past had to learn to live with similar feelings in his past, wanted to help her find her new path in life. Their relationship eventually shifted to friendship in their travels, in particular as Safinia found that underneath his mild-mannered personality was a self-deprecating temperament and a great deal of loneliness due to his vampirism; and then finally romance, as they finally came to terms with how they felt about each other.

Adventures in Rivenspire
It seemed as good a time as ever to take my necromancer Safinia questing in Rivenspire (and take more screenshots of a certain Count, of course) with Greymoor coming up.
(It also amuses me to headcanon that the bat pet is in fact Arellius, her vampire companion, hiding in bat form, as in my head they adventure together through Rivenspire at the same time)

Fenriael’s adventures in Cyrodiil
(Part 2 of 2)  part 1 here
Tumblr media
My dark elf Buoyant Armiger priestess also took a visit to pact territory, and believe me when I say she is the sort to drunkenly take exception to a certain Sacerdote Alaisia’s supremely awkward (especially for my elfy characters, at any rate) anti-elf rhetoric.
Also, playing a necromancer ancestor-worshiping healer in pvp is very amusing when you can resurrect a whole bunch of players at once in the middle of battle. “And here, you thought we were all dead? Think again!” *cue maniacal laughter*
Tumblr media
Meanwhile my Imperial vampire blood mage healer took a trip back to his homeland and the imperial city. He is a Good Vampire™ in his old age, and usually looks a lot less monstrous, but was going in disguise in order to investigate certain matters he left unfinished before the fall of the imperial city (also, being a stage 4 vampire gives some excellent bonuses to being sneaky).
Here he is having a word with Abnur Tharn before he departs, and outside on his fancy new horse (He’s wearing the new legion zero chest alongside the daedric light legs, one of the imperial light helms and what I think is the light assassins league shoulders).
