hi, pls don’t think abt how serious sef’s abandonment issues are, how she’s basically completely resigned herself to the fact that everyone’s gonna leave her or die, even if she tries her hardest to be hopeful and trust in her goddess and to follow Sarenrae’s doctrine of helping and healing others, and while she does genuinely care for humanity as a whole she almost never allows herself to care so deeply that she could be hurt by it, but her heart almost always wins out in the end and she pretends to not care but cares a lot and oh im sad,,,,

There’s a light laugh from her, and Sefris smiled at him. “Of course not. One of my old comrades was a rogue. And we’ve had plenty of people far more threatening and far more concerning come through the temple in need of assistance.” She also thought of what became of Lamm, and her subsequent revival of him--no, no, don’t think about that.

“Even then, you’re still a person, no? Another living being who needed assistance. I’m more than glad to help.”

Pritus felt the healing wash over him and wasn’t sure if he felt comfortable with it. Usually he just rested to feel better. Found some tiny nook where he could curl up. Or, he’d pull out his royal persona and become powerful enough to get proper help. Either way, he still nodded a thanks.

Paultin rolled his eyes. This way was a lot faster to get the answers they wanted. 

He couldn’t see anyone though. She had said someone was in the bush and he had kicked it. Why were people playing hard to get here?

He rolled his eyes once more. “You’re protecting me from a bush?”

The shot that came out of said bush made him shut up, however.

INITIATIVE: d20 + 2 ( 2 + 2 ) = 4

One, two, three--three humanoids wrapped in tattered rags burst from the trees, two swordsmen charging at Sefris and Paultin, while the archer attempted to shoot Sefris with another bolt.

Cultist 1: d20 + prof. + DEX = miss against Sefris Cultist 2: d20 + prof. + DEX = miss against Paultin Cultist 3: d20 + prof. + DEX = miss against Sefris

Despite their supposed surprise attack, the archer missed while trying not to hit his allies, and Sefris blocked a slash with a scimitar with her shield. The cultist who aimed at Paultin... whiffed hard and ran into a tree. Genius.

“Dawnflower scum!” A new voice joined them, and two more figures appeared clearly attempting to corner the two. Sefris narrowed her eyes and groaned.

“Goddammit! They’re Rovagug cultists!”

“Don’t speak Its name, filth!” The two fanatics began to move their hands and mutter...

Cultist Fanatic 1: Sacred Flame: DEX Save DEX save: d20 + 1 (14 + 1) = 15 = success

Divine light lit up near Sefris, but she jumped out of the flames’ way.

Cultist Fanatic 2: Spiritual Weapon --Attack: d20 + prof. + WIS = miss against Sefris

A glowing scimitar appeared next to Paultin and Sefris, but once more, Sefris’ shield went up.

“Dammit--shit! Paultin, we need to get back! You can run--I’m the one they want dead! I just--I need to get space from them!”

She placed a hand on Paultin’s arm for a brief moment, and an aura of protection washed over him.

Death Ward cast.

“Go!”

“Paultin, stay behind me.” Sefris  placed herself between Paultin and where she saw a figure, hiding within the thicket with something trained on them.

Sefris shrieked as a crossbow bolt grazed her shoulder, and she immediately prepared for battle.

“The Starstone hitting Golarion, the fall of the Thassilon and Azlant empires, along with every other major civilization in the world, the entire world being covered in ash, the Age of Darkness beginning--it was not exactly a happy time.” Sefris looked over the painting, sympathy softening her eyes. She wished she could have helped those people.

“Apologies for my rudeness, as well. I suppose that I do tend to get a bit heated when discussing such matters. My name is Sefris, cleric of Sarenrae. And you are?”
