So many people get birds because they see a cute video of them talking or making R2-D2 sounds. They’ll get big birds like African Greys because they talk.
And they have no fucking idea what they’re getting into.
And honestly even the people who try to be responsible about pet ownership find themselves in over their heads with birds. Birds are extremely expensive and demanding to keep.
Birds will literally injure themselves if not given proper mental stimulation. They need specialty vet care.
I’m really lucky I have a vet who isn’t technically an avian vet right now but birds are clearly her special interest so she knows as much as she can about them, and avian specialists work with her so anything she doesn’t know she can ask them. Vet visits with specialists cost like fifty dollars extra so it’s nice to be able to save a bit of money but still get the quality of care a specialist would be able to give. Like I said, I’m really lucky. This vet is amazing and loves birds with all her heart.
Birds are also destructive! They’ll chew holes in your house. They’re messy! They poop every fifteen minutes and they throw food and destroyed toys all over the floor.
And they’re so. Fucking. Loud.
They’re meant to call to other birds across miles. Their calls are not meant to be in the close quarters of a bedroom.
And even if you get a species known for talking it may not talk! All three of my male cockatiels can talk but one rarely does so. And I didn’t get them with talking in mind. I just wanted to give a cockatiel a good home because I knew how often they’re mistreated.
They bite!!! My conures have powerful bites and they’re a very mouthy species. They use their mouths for everything. Cockatiels don’t have a super strong bite but they can and will draw blood if they set their minds to it. And even thigh parakeets are tiny, their bites hurt. People often get parakeets for kids but trust me you don’t want your kid getting bitten by one.
Parakeets aren’t super prone to biting but one rescue I took in had learned biting was the only way to get kids to stop messing with her so she became a biter.
Birds need friends!!!!! They get lonely and depressed and really need their own kind. Humans can’t replace a parrot companion. You wouldn’t believe how much happier my first cockatiel was after I got more. He loves to sing to them and talk to them and he’s a whole new much happier bird, even though I’d dedicated time to keeping him company myself. And the parakeets feel safer in large groups. Their personalities come out when they’re in groups.
So yeah. A lot of people have no idea what they’re getting into with parrots.
I can’t speak to other bird species. Some are domesticated so they may do way better in captivity but I have no experience with them. Just parrots.
I guess I had some strong feelings on the subject

I don't know what to really ask but just give me some assassin's creed content El. Headcanons, Fic, whatever you want just give me some content, pls.
Modern Day Assassin's Creed Headcanons
These are some very general AC headcanons, talking about the modern day characters because gd, I actually like them fight me.
Tumblr media
Modern day assassin's go about things in a simultaneously traditional way and more modern way. So, training is a lot of the core tenants mixed with more modern elements.
Modern assassins don't actually weak the garb from the past unless it's like, a super special ceremony. They dress just like we do because come on. Come on. There's a reason Torres said "the costume made infamous by your secret organization."
I feel like all assassins are huge intersectional feminists. I'm not taking questions on that.
Assassins also have localized mentors. So, y'know, Midwestern assassins have a league of mentors that specialize by sector. There's so many assassins now that it just makes sense?
The way ranks work now is relatively the same? They kept a lot of old tradition.
There are assassins that aren't in the field. Researchers, data retrieval, not all of them are physical soldiers, BUT, all of them know how to fight should they absolutely need to.
Parkour is still essential to the assassin training core. Modern day assassins actually tend to forget about parkour because everyone wants to fight instead.
Freerunning styles actually differ by region! Western European styles drip with style and show where as North American freerunning is filled with showmanship and a little messy!
The traditions of different brotherhoods drip into their assassins. Where as the West Indies Assassins may enjoy one method of assassination, the SEAsian Assassins will enjoy something else and will often default to that as well.
Assassins have different nicknames and are often bonded by the brotherhood they come from.
There's a weird rivalry between the Midwestern Assassins and the New England Assassins. No one knows why, but it's existed for decades. All friendly, of course.
Hell even by country the assassin brotherhoods will differ. The culture is blanketed the same, but varies WILDLY by the society they exist in. The Bolivian brotherhood is leagues different than the Nepal brotherhood. That's just how it is.
Each brotherhood has the universal traditions mixed in with their own that get passed down from generation to generation of assassin. Some of these traditions are centuries old (looking at Altair's home).
Assassins are literally everywhere. They are a global unit, and they are well known within the "secret organization" world.
The Templars are no different.
This is essentially a war that will never end due to human stubbornness and a general lack of not being able to communicate.
It confuses the assassins wildly why Abstergo, a Templar company, would make games and media based off of Assassin history.
Assassins are nomadic by nature.
While it was never Aya and Bayek's intent for the Hidden Ones to become figureheads in their own community, there's a lot of lessons to be learned from those who came before. Aya, who became Amunet, is one of the most celebrated and beloved assassins in all history. It's why there was a tomb hidden away for her in Italy.
All of the greats get remembered in ways they never really expected, and of course, there are jokes surrounding their lives that exist to this day.
It's funny to call each other novices, but no one knows why. Mailk
Some inside jokes are only understood by a singular brotherhood.
Modern day assassins are also extremely well rounded individuals. They know a plethora of skills to blend in with whatever their situation calls for given their missions and the calls of their mentors.
The brotherhood will also pay off college debts/put you through college. They value their assassins to be educated in a plethora of things, college/university being one of them.
Literally there's a place for everyone in the brotherhood. Whether it be in the field, or archiving data, there is always somewhere for you in the brotherhood.
It's not uncommon for older, but not mentor assassins to take in younger/less experienced assassins and train them as well.
Look, camaraderie is a big thing and always will be.
Assassins that are more nomadic than others tend to live in groups, like what Rebecca, Shaun and Desmond were doing.
Groups are deeply personal.
Idk why they made the animus like, a VR headset at one point but I like to think it's not entirely like that???
Yes, you can check out your ancestors in the animus.
Most assassins can speak multiple languages and are versed in some type of sign language.
Assassins are more often than not a heritage thing, but they accept people whenever.
The bleeding effect is still very much a thing. Sometimes, that's how novices will work in a bind.
Sometimes, saying "requiescat in pace" is a bit of a joke in their circles.
You do not badmouth the legends of the past.
Sometimes, assassins will go a little rogue and work with Templars for the greater good. This happens more often than not, and when it does, it has to be extremely hush hush.
Modern assassins and Templars are more willing to talk about things than their predecessors.
Birds are still a big thing with the creed. More often than not, assassins are taught falconry.
You can't have a fear of birds lmfao.
Some assassins have parrots. African Greys, Cockatoos, macaws, stuff like that! Some have crows, ravens, hawks, it goes on. Birds are integral to the creed.
Assassins have like, safe houses and stuff, some more showy than others and grand. There are hidden statues around of different mentors in accordance with what they did in life. In the rafters, windowsills, it's kinda fun. Like an easter egg.
Layla Hassan was super interesting for the time she was part of the assassins and many are still torn on how to feel about her. Shaun and Rebecca especially.
Modern assassins are often more stuck in history than they would like to admit.

The Great Tauros is the descendant of the feral Longhorn Cattle. Once favored for the stock’s longevity, resistance to disease, and ability to thrive on marginal pastures, they are now completely wild and evolved into its own species of bovine, setting out it's own purpose in the ecosystem.
An impressive animal, The Great Tauros stand’s almost 180 cm tall and due to its long legs and slender build is a surprisingly agile animal. Bulls are enormous black beasts with sweeping lyre-shaped horns that can punch holes through steel or upend a small car should the animal become enraged. Its long, thick horns, speed and bulk weight provides powerful means of defense, and adults could give large predators such as wolves a serious match.
Cows are normally around two-thirds the size of the bulls and often have a reddish-brown coloration that makes them difficult to pick out in large groups. Both genders have a narrow “eel stripe” of light gray fur running along their back, while calves of either gender are brown until they hit sexual maturity, at which point the males take on the deep black coloration of adult bulls. Taking the championship prize for the now largest cattle breed alive, which was once given to the Chianina, in terms of appearance, these cattle of New America are massive- It is not unusual for bulls to exceed 1,600 kg (3,500lb) in weight, with some of the largest pushing 4,200lb. It doesn’t help they are also built like tanks, with the skeleton being extremely dense, with thick, sturdy bones.
Moving in small herds of up to half a dozen animals, these mega-sized bovines tend to keep to themselves, living as low browsers along the edges of woodlands and pushing their way through the thick undergrowth of the jungles to feed upon bushes, low-growing leaves, and anything else that they can find. They are also predominantly grazers of grass and low-lying plant growth. They seem to be fond of maple leaves and will knock down small trees to get at them. During the winter they will resort to feeding on twigs, leaf litter, and acorns. They also tend too frequent bogs in search of reeds and fresh understory growth, which may bring them into competition with moose and other large herbivores. However, Large herds tend to dominate any landscape they enter, often forcing away animals as they bulldoze through the available forage. Smaller herbivores like deer are often left unbothered by them and may even follow them as they leave a messy trail of undergrowth in their wake.
Herds are often gender-segregated for most of the year, the sexes only coming together during the late autumn breeding season. During this time the bulls become increasingly hostile and savagely fight for access to females, sometimes maiming or even killing each other in the process. Both genders start bulk-loading on fatty foods near the start of the mating season, each group building up fat reserves in order to survive the harsh winter ahead. Calves are born in the following spring and stay with their mothers for the next three or four years, before males set off to form their own herd's. Female calves may often leave too for a while, but sometimes are known to rejoin the herd after some time.
Despite their size and strength, these massive cattle aren’t always safe. While the animals are incredibly tough, able to shrug off the teeth and claws of most smaller carnivores, put a fight with slightly larger ones and even withstand small firearms like the African Cape buffalo, there are still predators capable of taking them down, while the young are the most vulnerable to predation. In addition, Bulls also tend to make the list to America’s Big Game Five, as males during breeding season are way, way, way, WAY too aggressive for anything to be around them for any length of time in 10 meters distance, which often makes them a thrilling spectacle and wild hunt for Big Game Hunter's.
FUN FACTS
Tumblr media
While these cattle are popularly known to show up in their normal color's, the red for the female and the deep black for the bull's, this is not the only color they can present as. Texas Longhorns were said to have many great traits, and color was one of the most noticeable and enjoyable, and as a result their descendant's are not that far off. Much like their ancestor's, Great Tauros can come in a variety of color's.
This is because all cattle basically possess one of three basic colors: black, red or white. The two genes each animal has for color can result in six possible genetic combinations. The gene for black is dominant to the gene for red, therefore cattle with one gene for black and one gene for red (heterozygous) will be black. There is an incomplete dominance between the gene for black and the gene for white, resulting in cattle with one gene for black and one gene for white being a black-roan color. There is also an incomplete dominance between the gene for red and the gene for white, resulting in cattle with one gene for red and one gene for white being a red-roan color. The gene for white is recessive, resulting in only cattle with two white genes (homozygous) being a true white color.
Another pair of genes determines if the color is diluted or not diluted. The gene for dilution is dominant to the gene for non-dilution. Cattle that have one gene for dilution and one gene for non-dilution or two genes for dilution will have a diluted color. Cattle with two genes for non-dilution will not have a diluted color. The dilution gene causes black to be diluted to gray and red to be diluted to yellow. Diluted white will still be white.
As a result, Cows and bulls are certainly unique when it comes to their color as their shading and combination of colors means that no two are exactly alike! Colors, as a result, can often include different shades from light to dark and everything in between, making it common too see brown, black, red, white, yellow and orange. There are also some which are colored Lavender or Mulberry!
Three of the most appealing ‘mixed’ colors to hunter's often include:
Brindle: This is a striped color. Usually red or brown with black stripes. Various shades of red can also be produced, ranging from very light to very dark.
Dun/Yellow: Cows and bulls can range from grey/gold, through tan, onto all shades of yellow.
Grulla: This is the Spanish word for a grey crane. This bird is colored slate-grey and much like the bird, people observing Tauros will often see a range of colors that can range from a pale, smoky silver to a dark mouse color.
Fleabit: A far more appealing color than it sounds, This color is mostly white with underlying dark specks on the skin.
However, color is not destined from birth and can change with age. For example, a light red calf may become brindle after it sheds its baby hair (first coat.) Some red calves may also turn a dark brown or have dark prints after shedding. Other's can be almost completely white when born and become speckled as they shed and age.

Oh, I used to love / do still kind of love learning about mythology and folklore despite being a pretty staunch atheist. With that being said, due to how much the philosophy of Luciferianism and my general appreciation of Lucifer as a concept / character within mythology and the idea of it, I consider myself an atheistic Luciferianist.
For the people I tag, I gotta do my system people even though some might just find this dumb, some friends and mutuals, and some people who I’ve seen interacting some. Anyone who wants to do this and tag me can feel free though!

Kyrgyzstan: A Travelogue in Words
Manas International Airport has inadvertently turned into a bird sanctuary. The decibel of bird sounds when, dazed after 22 hours of travel you walk for the first time out into early morning Kyrgyz sunlight, provide a stunning first impression of the deepest part of the lushest forest at sunrise. Then you traverse the barren miles between Kyrgyz towns. So that when leaving you look up again and realize the birds have made a home not between the lush green leaves that were earlier conjured, but between long metal bars stretched across a plain awning. You chuckle to yourself for pity of those architects. Certainly they had not intended nor anticipated this secondary affect of hundreds of birds gathering to fight and sing and build and defecate above the sliding doors in and out of Kyrgyzstan.
Other first impressions: the toilet paper here is just a slightly wider and colorless kin of the crinkly stretchy paper streamers we use in America to celebrate birthdays and bridal showers and such.
Borscht soup has the redness of the reddest heirloom tomato distilled to 15 feet for purity of color. I thought it was full of tomatoes but it is full of cabbage and bits of beef, without any of the tartness of tomatoes. The red remains a mystery, but that is of little concern to me because it tastes very good. (After writing this, I learned the soup is made from beets.)
Lake Issyk Kul is blue-blue. Blue must be said twice because it is not just blue, it is the bluest blue, and the standard against which all blues may be set. And it does not want for size either—8 hours is required to travel its circumference. We could see it from our room. But at the lodge, the hallway we had to walk down to get to our room was so long it began to feel psychological. It was long and dimly lit, with no windows, just rows and rows of doors to each side, and you think you are nearly there but then you are still not. It is inevitable, even after walking up and down it multiple times a day, that you wonder if it ever ends. Walking through it feels a little like you have been plunged into an anxious dream.
An hour’s drive around Lake Issyk Kul towards the Hindu Kush mountains brought us to a little dirt road into the alleged burial grounds of St. Matthew, which turned out to be merely a small cave tunneling through a hill, with a yellowed Bible, a half-assed alphabet etched into the wall, a crumpled picture of Mary, Nestorian symbols of the cross inside an enclave, and a fistful of yellow flowers fastened above the small dark hole of an exit. It was a funny attempt to capitalize on pious tourists and the actual discovery: the divers who discovered remnants of ancient human civilization buried under Lake Issyk Kul, a shard with Armenian/Syrian language which corroborates with a 14th century map indicating an Armenian monastery at a place called “issikol,” where St. Matthew might have been as he traveled towards India, establishing little communities of believers.
Large yellow brown planes, horses and cows nibbling side by side with little nosy clusters of gossiping chickens. Chickens, when they are together in the country, are always gossiping. Cows wander freely along the single paved road, crossing it at will, knowing their right of way—if they are hit the driver is at fault and pays. By nightfall they have all headed home because if they are hit after dark, the driver is no longer at fault and the owner pays for his losses. One lamb is 100 som and one horse is 3,000 som. I’m guessing cows are somewhere in between. The road is pollarded with trees painted white on the bottom, for what I’m not sure, because the trees are all dead and dried. They burn areas of the fields before cultivation, but I am not sure if anything can be coaxed out of these miles of dry grey granules of dirt, with yellowed grass spaced out like the hairs of a balding man. What great faith these men have driving around in tractors, farm tools scattered about. Seasons are a miraculous thing when the dead of winter is really so dead. But even then, Kyrgyzstan’s main problem, it seems, is that nothing is going on. Lake Issyk Kul is a large shock of brilliant turquoise just before the rise of the Tien Shan mountains to snowy peaks, and the beauty of it seems utterly useless, because beauty is completely frivolous and indifferent when industry is what is needed, work for men to put their hands to. And you can see it in some of the men’s faces ruddy with alcohol at noon, nothing to do and no purpose aside from bottles of that great Russian export, hard liquor. A man on a horse corralling his sheep on a barren hillside here, a lone smoke stack there, and a girl sitting on an overturned bucket selling 3 more buckets of soft apples...
Their jaunty hats of embroidered creamy woolen felt seemed at first like costume. I saw them upon the heads of a group of men, old and young, in western dress waiting at the gate in Istanbul. But as our plane descended into Bishkek, the men had grown raucous (I could smell the alcohol on their breaths behind me) and they kept laughing wildly and standing up in the cabin. The stewardesses’ reprimands went from pleading to threatening until they finally sat down. All throughout that week I saw men wearing them neatly upon their heads, amidst the countryside dust and the smog of Bishkek buses. They became to me more beautiful than all of Lake Issyk Kul, because they are symbols of human dignity, handiwork, and identity upon their heads—singular and defiant acts of Kyrgyz expression amidst vast lethargic poverty. Then we were back at Manas International Airport. Missions is messy, he said as they tried to stuff a large Kyrgyz wall hanging amidst other shapely gifts into a suitcase that weighed in just under 20 kg. Earlier he had told me a story about the videographer for a group of missionaries going around Kilimanjaro. What was the hardest part of the journey? They asked him. He had lugged hefty camera equipment all up and down the mountain. After a bit of thought he said, getting all the receipts for reimbursement. So, missions is messy, and this has many meanings. Tetras-ing wall hangings into luggages under the weight limit is one of them, I said.
Later I saw two Kyrgyz infantrymen in smart Soviet-era hats and uniforms. They stopped to stand on the luggage weighing scale, in a jocular mood, perhaps ready to fill their bellies with spirit on a Friday night. I took a picture of them as they looked up at the large round clock of kilograms, laughing. We had just seen some people off, and went back out again to the deafening sound of birds.
Spaciba. I whispered many times under my breath but did not have the courage to say out loud. I started to recognize a few Russian letters. I was using a BeeLine sim card and all the messages from the carrier came in Russian.
Afghanis vacation in Tajik, Tajiks vacation in Kyrgyzstan. That is the order of wealth perhaps. We walked around the plaza, the architecture and use of space, so starkly Soviet-looking, was nothing like I had seen before. Stone monuments rose up everywhere. Lenin stood tall as a mountain, his hand outstretched, ominously pointing the way. We saw banners from the Persian New Year celebrations. We saw bottles of their award-winning white honey. They gifted me two, and a wall-hanging made of wool, before I left.
Back in the other central asian country where they worked, their phone calls were monitored by the government. They had code words for anything that might give their religion away, and while in Kyrgyzstan, they kept stiffening at words like church and missionary spoken out loud so freely between us. He acted out a phone call he once received from his dad who hardly ever called him: he heard his dad ask how is the mission doing? at the same time he heard a beep sound in the background, and he started coughing loudly, frantic to cover that forbidden word, mission. Are you ok? his dad asked. Dad let me call you back later. He hung up abruptly.
He told me about the experience of his Dutch friends. The lady was newly pregnant and earlier that morning she had broken news of it to her family over the phone. In the afternoon her husband stopped at a government office. The officials greeted him and then congratulated him on his wife’s pregnancy. He was obviously taken aback--how could they have known? And then he realized they had tapped his call. The state learned of his wife’s pregnancy at the same time their family learned of the pregnancy. Constant surveillance was a fact of life, as elementary as seasons and the color blue.
We shared immigration stories (immigration offices in developing countries always produce stories). He told me about his friend who went to the immigration office in a North African country. The windows were numbered 1-8. He went to the first one. A man slid open the window. And after an exchange of explanations and papers was done, he said, please proceed to window 2. So he went to window 2 and waited. It slid open to reveal the same man. Hello, he said, as if they had not just spoken moments ago. A twin perhaps? But no. Window after window it was the same man, running all 8 windows of immigration at the immigration office. Seven times he greeted him as if they had never spoken before.
He also told me about kidnappings. A few days after he told me about his own, he shared another one about the pregnant German woman who was kidnapped in a middle eastern country he had worked in. The kidnappers had begun to broadcast a live video of their ransom demands. But the scene quickly spiraled into a chaos that was almost comic. The woman began to shout at her kidnappers, openly mocking and shaming them in her brazen way. The kidnappers could be seen regrouping in a corner, arguing with each other over what to do, how to proceed, maybe they should just let her go? She was pregnant afterall and maybe what they were doing was unethical. He told me he never thought he could feel for kidnappers, but he did then. In that moment, they were just a group of people who were desperate and believed that this was the only way to get their demands met. They were also just a group of people who did not agree with each other and did not have a good plan in place. They eventually released the woman.
Gigi and I sat on the floor of the hotel room (because the floors were heated and nothing else), across the street from the American embassy that rose up like a fortress amidst rubble, before a beautiful alpine backdrop. It did not feel real. We talked and talked late into the night. We held onto each other like sisters who would be separated soon.
I heard many stories and shared a few of my own. After I spoke in front of a conference room of 200 people, a couple approached me. The husband used to be a professor at UPenn and now runs a social enterprise/business as mission in Kyrgyzstan. Her daughter teaches on a Native American reservation in the Southwest. The wife told me that she was very touched by what I had said. I almost laughed and began to apologize for my terrible public speaking. Speaking skills don’t matter as much, she said firmly. What I could tell was the message you shared came from the heart, and that is the more important thing. So then I n my heart I felt comforted, but in my head I said, I am not entirely convinced that is true. Several other schools and organizations also approached me, in an uncomfortably eager attempt (imagine elderly men requesting to sit with you at dinner time to tap the corners of their mouths with a napkin and share the most scintillating mission statements with a side of groveling) to recruit me because I am young and already have 3 years of experience in East Africa. I turned them all down by the end of the week. I left that path 2 years ago and I do not see myself going back. If I do go, I will go another way.
Now that it has been six months since my trip, I can hardly believe I was ever there. There are a few parts of it that I’d rather not recall. But I do have a pair of luxurious woolen slippers, deftly embroidered, with tips that curve sharply upward, that I wear around the house when I want to feel regal, to remind myself of who gifted them to me, and that I did really spend a very strange week gallivanting about Kyrgyzstan.

Note
Gooooonna need detailed outfit descriptions for many of these characters. Because reasons.
Sure! Pre-warning this is going to be slightly long! If you have any questions (or I’ve missed something or someone) feel free to ask!
Ulla
5′9″
Tanned Skin
Long Auburn Brown Hair to her shoulders.
Athletic build but not dramatically muscular. C Cup.
Very sharp cheek-bones give her a very stern looking face.
Brown eyes.
Civilian Attire:
Grey Trenchcoat that reaches her knees.
White blouse with an open collar (though she can sometimes be found in a railway blue blouse.) Light grey slacks, black leather flats.
Thick framed black glasses (in an attempt to disguise the shape of her face).
Hair put into a loose bun.
Her System is worn around her waist like a belt. It resembles the one worn by Kamen Rider Fourze, except the center is circular and has a large slot, resembling a ticket slot on the top. It is metallic and dark grey in color.
Express Knight
Ulla transforms by pushing an “Express Ticket’ into her belt. This ticket looks like a slightly faded train ticket, on light yellow paper.
In her basic form, Ulla is clad in a bright yellow armor, that covers her whole body and makes her look much bulkier. The armor is in a few bits, with bulkier sections on her joints.
The helmet resembles the front of a Bullet train, but in yellow. Around the top of her head, there is a line of rail track. It sort of resembles the ToQger armor.
On the back are two large vents, one on each shoulder. These vents are a dark silver and regularly emit steam. The direction of the jets and the slats on the vents move with Ulla to give her blows extra strength.
The boots have a large groove in the soles, these grooves perfectly fit over a rail, allowing Ulla to dash across them or move around using the rail system.
Ulla is often carrying a sword. It resembles an oversized broadsword with a dark yellow hilt. The blade is very chunky and has a rail embossed into it. The center of the hilt has another ticket slot.
Sharon
5′4″
Pale white skin
Black hair that she wears in a bob (thought this bob tends to be messy due to her getting helmet hair from the Mesmera costume).
Very average build.
Larger bust, around a D cup.
Slightly round in the face, and very soft cheeks.
Very well plucked and maintained eyebrows.
Dark Green eyes when her power isn’t active. A metallic swirling silver when it is.
Civilian
She often wears very bright t-shirts and blue Mom jeans along with very plain flats.
In more formal moments she wears floral summer dresses or a floral blouse matched with a bright skirt.
Mesmera
Her costume is made up of two parts, a cowl, and a body suit.
The bodysuit is spandex with thin kevlar plates over the chest and shoulder area.
The costume resembles an 80s Business suit with the details being molded onto the kevlar plates.
The base of the suit is black, with purple details.
The kevlar cowl resembles a Batman one, minus the horns. It leaves Mesmera’s eyes and mouth exposed. Around the eyes are small spirals engraved into the kevlar and then painted purple. This means that they are only visible in certain light.
The costume is finished with thigh-high black boots
Alicia
5′6″
Pale white skin.
Black hair that she has fashioned into an undercut.
Light Green eyes.
Fit build.
Civilian
Alicia wears a lot of metal band t-shirts and dark black jeans as well as very ratty sneakers.
In the gym, Alicia wears a light blue t-shirt and a pair of black running shorts.
Villain Work
A black body suit that resembles Mesmera’s just with more kevlar plating and none of the personal details.
A Batman-Esq cowl, minus the horns. It has no distinguishing details on it.
Mara
6′1″
Freckles
Long curly red hair to the middle of her back.
Very fit, with large muscles.
C cup.
Civilian
Often found in a long white lab coat that reaches down to her knees.
Under the coat, she wears a dark blue button-up shirt and dark pants.
Outside of the lab, Mara wears button-up shirts (usually black) along with dark jeans.
Ivanna
6′3″
Hispanic
Long straight black hair
Exceedingly muscled. Has a very obvious six-pack.
Civilian
Loose fitting t-shirts, often advertising old Lucha events, often with the sleeves ripped off.
Baggy workout shorts.
Black Trainers.
El Cóndor Vengador
Wears a Lucha mask that totally covers her head aside from her mouth and eyes. The mask has a bird design on it. The base of the mask is a crimson color and the bird is pearlescent so it sparkles when she moves.
She wears a bright red leotard that matches her mask
On her feet are black wrestling boots with very heavy looking soles.
Dragón Danzante
5′4″
Asian
Decently muscled but not as bulky as Ivanna
Always
Dragon is never seen without her mask. The mask is pretty similar to this. It is a metallic blue with grey details around the eyes and a scale-like pattern all over it.
The mask also has a long metallic blue tail running emanating from the back of the mask, almost like a ponytail. It reaches the small of her back.
She wears metallic blue pants and a metallic sports bra that both have a scale-like pattern on them.
Her outfit is finished with black wrestling boots.
Momo
5′5″
Pale skin
Blue eyes.
Blonde hair in pigtails.
Lab
Momo wears a pastel pink lab coat, that stops just before her waist.
She wears a pink tutu that only just covers her butt as well as a light pink t-shirt (often with a random slogan like “Be Cute!” or “Candy Girl” written on it)
She wears pink over-sized mary-janes on her feet
Wears a lot of makeup, including blusher to give her doll-like blush circles on her cheeks.
Pockets tend to be full of all sorts of candy and gum.
Hitomi
5′6″
Athletic, but not as muscular as her sister.
Tanned
Green eyes.
C-Cup
Red Hair that she wears in a long ponytail.
Civilian
Hitomi tends to wear very tattered jeans and tight, black t-shirts.
Over this, she wears an open leather racing jacket, in black, orange and dark grey.
She wears black motorcycle boots everywhere
Her system is worn around the waist like a belt. It resembles a black metallic engine block (think a little bit like the one worn by Kamen Rider Build in that it has a very “mechanical” design). On the top is a short gear stick that Hitomi pulls to transform.
Turbo Knight Hitomi
Her body is covered in bulky red armor. Between the joints, you can see hints of parts that resemble an engine.
The helmet resembles the front of a bus with the windshield acting as the visor and the headlights positioned above her eyes.
In many ways, she resembles a chunkier TurboRanger
Her boots have a tire pattern on the sole, there is also an obvious “door” in the soles. When Hitomi uses certain powers or goes for her finish, wheels come out of these doors, allowing her to travel extremely quickly.
CCC Hitomi (Hitomi Black)
The CCC System is almost the size of a screwdriver. It is a metallic red and one the one end is a large black button that is covered by a small plastic lid. On the other is a large dagger-like spike in metallic silver. (Sort of like the Hazard Trigger)
When using the CCC, the CCC System is embedded into the center of Hitomi’s System, effectively leaving a red stripe along the middle.
CCC Hitomi has black armor as opposed to the Red of the Turbo Knight.
On her helmet and shoulders, there are large black spikes that stick up into the air. The ones on the helmet start at the forehead and go out in a V shape.
While in CCC form, Hitomi’s visor has a red tinge to it. (It looks totally red from some angles)
Bestie Hitomi (In Momo’s lab)
While in Momo’s lab Hitomi is either in her normal civilian outfit (however these clothes are looking pretty dirty, due to Momo not bothering to wash them).
When she is wandering around mindlessly helping Momo, she tends to be in Momo’s clothes. A pink tutu that utterly fails at hiding her bright pink panties, as well as one of Momo’s t-shirts. Due to the shirt being way too small, it doesn’t cover her arms and leaves her midriff exposed.
Parasite
5′9″
Normal Human Form
Black hair in an overly perfect retro bob
Pale skin.
Very average build.
Very dark brown eyes
Tends to wear plain t-shirts and generic brown slacks and formal shoes.
Parasite Form
During her transformation, it is possible for Parasite to look like a normal human aside from one or two latex limbs.
Skin turns totally black and looks like shiny latex, making her body almost resemble a silhouette.
Her hair becomes longer, reaching her lower back. Each hair grows wider and thicker making them resemble tendrils.
Her eyes are black and look like they are imprinted into the latex, the mouth is the same, two latex lips that open to reveal a dark void.
Massacre Maid
5′4″
Black hair fashioned into twin tails that sit on the sides of her head
A Japanese-Style Maid’s Uniform it has a faded name tag stuck on it which says “Massacre” in red pen, complete with little blood drops coming off of it.
Leather combat boots on her feet.
Carries around a mop, that has a wooden handle and white fibers on the end. In Scythe form, the handle stays wooden, but a large metallic silver blade appears on the end, the blade is nearly as tall as Massacre Maid is.
Hype Girl
5′6″
Long blonde hair to her shoulders
Blue eyes.
Is always in a blue cheerleader’s uniform. The top is slightly short leaving her belly button exposed.
The uniform often has the word “Hype!” Written across the chest in an off-yellow. However, sometimes it is replaced with the “Red Right Hand” logo.
She wears white sneakers that are very worn down from all her jumping.
Carries two red foil pom-poms with her. If they are not on her hands they are attached to her skirt.
Specter
5′7″
Dark brown eyes.
African-American
Long black hair that goes just past her shoulders, that she obviously slicks back.
Wears a Phantom Of The Opera mask on one side of her face.
She also wears a man’s black suit, further emulating the Phantom. However, there are obvious bulges in the suit where she has added kevlar plates.
She wears a long black cape with a red velvet backing as well as chunky black boots.
Burst
5′8″
Green eyes
Messy red mohawk
“Bruiser” body type.
Wears a bright yellow latex costume that covers her whole body except her hands. The suit has flame designs around the neck, wrists, and ankles.
Her mask is a full hood, that leaves only her mohawk, mouth and eyes exposed. It is a gradient, going from yellow at the neck, to a fiery red near her hair.
Anna Stesia
5′5″
Blue eyes
Very fit.
Has her hair in a very neat black bob.
Dresses like a retro-nurse stereotype
However, her suit is made of latex and the inside of the jacket is lined with various needles and vials.
She wears flat black pumps, however even these have a needle concealed in the toe area.
Creme d’Argent
6′0″
Very slim, and not very muscled.
Blonde hair, worn in a bun.
Pre-”Designs On The Future”: A creme business suit, made up of creme jacket and slacks along with a white collared shirt. The whole ensemble clings to her body, making it look like she brought something a size too small. She wears black high-heeled pumps.
Post-”Designs On The Future”: Wears a black business suit, made up of black pants, a white shirt, and a black jacket. The jacket and pants feature subtle silver pinstripes. She wears black high-heeled pumps.
Lady Aria
6′1″
Short dirty blonde hair to her neck, complete with a long fringe
Extremely buff.
Dark blue eyes
Civilian
Wears a long gothic gown
She often has deep crimson opera gloves on. They look like they are made of velvet.
Extremely high, blood-red high heels.
The Crushing Countess
Same as her civilian attire, however, she wears two gigantic red gauntlets on her hands. Each Gauntlet is the size of a vending machine and seems to be made of a dark red steel.
The gauntlets have vents on them, that regularly emit blasts of steam.
Her shoes change to have a wider, spiked heel, allowing her to embed herself into the ground when she wants to put all of her strength into a punch.
Space Kitty
5′5″
Her skin seems very tanned, but it glitters oddly in the light.
Very slim
Yellow eyes.
Short spiky blue hair
Earth Civilian
Space Kitty wears various t-shirts, these often feature terrible cat puns (as she thinks they are about her) or are souvenir shirts from places Ulla, Gaim, and Aria took her.
Dark yellow jeans
Sneakers with a cat drawn onto the tongue with a marker pen.
Space Kitty
She looks a lot like Kamen Rider Nadeshiko. A silver suit of armor, that while metallic, moves like spandex.
On the helmet are two metallic silver cat ears.
On her gauntlets are sharp points resembling cat claws.
Around her wrist is her system. It resembles a small computer, about the size of a cell phone, but in a more rounded shape. The screen tends to flash data about the suit and her attacks, all in a strange alien language.

Pipe Dream Pets
There are a handful of pets I would die to own, but for one reason or another, I can’t.
FOX. Russia has a domestication experiment with foxes, and exports them to one company in the US. These foxes are as domesticated as dogs, and they run from $6k and up. The price is not the biggest deterrent to me. The biggest deterrent is the fox’s behavior and lifestyle. The owner of Juniper the fox has described in detail the downsides of owning a fox, namely that she can’t travel because she can’t have a sitter and foxes are illegal in several states; Juniper has destroyed multiple pieces of furniture by being herself, engaging in activities such as digging (in her couches), possession hoarding (food, shoes, pillows), and peeing. Fox pee is very much like cat pee in that it is extremely hard to get rid of. Juniper’s owner has stated “you smell it the second you walk in, that a fox lives here.” Another reason for concern is that there ar4e no rabies vaccines approved for foxes, which is the reason why Juniper can’t ever be babysat when her mom goes away - if Juniper were to bite someone, she may have to be put down and her brain tested for rabies. Foxes are off the table for me.
SEAHORSES. I love seahorses. I really do. I always swore I would have some, but as I researched them and their care, and as I researched saltwater tanks, I realized that I may never be able to have seahorses and keep them healthy. I might be able to keep them alive, but living is not the same as thriving, and I don’t want to keep any animal that can’t thrive with me. Seahorses are just too delicate for my clumsiness.
AFRICAN GREY PARROT. Oh boy do I love African greys. And oh boy could I never have an African grey, for nearly the same reason I couldn’t have seahorses. I doubt my ability to provide an environment engaging and stimulating enough for what is essentially a feathered child. Maybe if I had no other pets and no children, but I do want those things. And just like with foxes, there are things parrots do that I just don’t think I could live with. Parrots are large, noisy birds, and I do not like noise. They are messy and with how big their enclosure has to be, plus their out of cage wanderings, I don’t think I’d ever be okay with the amount of MESS they’d produce, or the amount of things they would ruin by investigating it in their parrot way (chewing on things, taking things apart, etc). Finally, parrots are tame, not domesticated. Tame animals tend to have more difficulty as pets than actual domesticated animals. Feather plucking and self mutilation are a high possibility. I could never watch my bird hurt itself because it was unhappy with my best ability to provide for it. I love African greys tremendously but I severely doubt my ability to keep one happy. This also goes for any large bird, and wild-caught animals.
This is not to say that people who have these animals are bad or abusive. I’ve seen people on this site keep their parrots beautifully, I’ve seen aquariums keep seahorses, and Juniper’s owner does a wonderful job with her. I am saying that I could not do it, even as much as I want to. Their needs exceed what I could provide for them at my best.

hey so. I kinda want a birb...however I am a rather timid individual. my friend has 2 African grey parrots and they're um. rude. they're very loud and they especially like to bite. I know some birds might prefer not to be touched, especially by strangers...but I just wanted to ask, do ur birbs like to nibble at all? Or did they bite when u first got them (if you tried to pat them)?? In conclusion I love birds but they are very fast and have sharp beak and I am afraid :/
Well, birds are wild animals. They communicate vocally and through body language. Birds are loud, messy, and they do bite. Birds can be cute and cuddly as babies but will grow to be hormonal and territorial in their mature years. They aren’t for everyone. It’s important to do your research and learn about each species and what their behaviors are. A good place to start is MyRightBird.com which pairs you with species based on your preferences. I’m very shy and timid with other humans, but I love my birds so much. I could talk about them to anyone for hours. :P They bring me endless joy. Usually, birds will bond to an individual or they will bond to another bird. I rescued Dusty when he was just a baby, so he bonded to me. He’s never bitten me, but he has bitten other people lol. Cricket I just adopted from a rescue this year and I’m still gaining his trust. He used to bite my fingers and face if I went too close to him or did something he didn’t like. I had to teach him how to step up. It takes a lot of time and patience.

whoop whoop i have a final persona now!
imma get some basics down under the cut:
Pronouns: She/they
They're very self depreciating. They like to try new things, but tend to get discouraged. They’re anxious, but try to hide it. Once you get to know them, you may notice they switch easily between being moody and being bubbly/fun. Even though they’re ambitious and often want to get to know people, they can’t get over how introverted they really are, and tend to be haunted by the thought if they mess any of this up they’ll be unlikable. They also are a huge meme, and very easily distracted.
The beads on their staff, the giant needle, as well as the one on the hat are very shiny, and they polish them as often as possible. They absolutely love to dress up, and aspire to be a designer, which is why they can create beads and feathers for outfits. They’re considering moving to gloomverse to try to be a professional cosplayer or a designer for a company. They do love the outdoors, and love being able to run out and relax, and even if they could go do that in gloomverse, they like the quiet, more reserved area of Ecoverse they’re in! Another reason they might be considering moving is just... sugary foods. They love to read, and sometimes accidentally procrastinate by reading for too long.
In the beginning of finding their hat, they got distracted and accidentally hit their friend, twice, in the face with their staff. They covered their floor with feathers.
Random tidbits:
-Most of their inspiration comes from birds,   so they incorporate feathers, of course, into a lot of their designs
-they love rolling down hills and just being in nature
-They have multiple birds, including a conure and an african grey
-Probably has a bunch of ribbons for ribbon dancing around their messy house
-Its a mess in their house, it’s easier for them that way
-They love birds
-Have i mentioned birds because birds
-Probably has a chicken
-Their glasses are bright red and v obnoxious
-Loves to do makeup
-birds, just, birds.
-clumsy. Also drops everything.
-Very subtle hazel eyes
-”this is heteronormative” is something they say on a daily basis.
-trains themself to do space makeup for ~aesthetic~ and then also bird makeup
-flaunts their own designs in public
-also birds
-Would love fall out boy and other such bands if they existed in gloom verse
-probs a weeb
-ok but mortifier
-would create a mortifer au where they’re all birds
-i mean c’mon joey as a peacock
-OK low-key has a crush on joey look at my goddamn name
-... has probably named birds after mortifer characters
-VERY IMPORTANT: THINKS SHAMAN COCOS IS ADORABLE AND NEEDSTO BE PROTECTED
-needs to fuckin chill like binch try some meditation

Sometimes I think about the fact that Joly just seems like the kind of person who would own a bird, like a super rad parrot or something, and for some reason Bossuet is convinced that the bird doesn't like him and has it out for him even though Joly keeps trying to explain that it's not true. (I'm sorry you're not doing well. I hope this helps.)
Okay, this was meant to be short, but it got waaaaay out of hand.
Birds of a Different Feather
It was a quiet afternoon when Joly had first brought it up.
“I think I’d like to have a bird,” he had stated, so casually it was almost as if he’d asked about the weather later on in the week. Musichetta, to her credit, did not seem very bothered about it. She simply took a sip of her coffee and nodded, “I think you’d do well with one. Birds can be sweethearts - a lot of them really love their humans.” Bossuet had been a little more perplexed over the sudden admittance; he wasn’t sure where it had come from, or why Joly had wanted a bird, in specific. They seemed loud, and most of them somewhat feisty - he’d been bitten and scratched at before, and he wasn’t entirely keen on the idea. Why not a guinea pig, or a turtle? Hell, why not a cat or a dog?
“A bird?” he had asked, a bit of hesitance in his tone. Joly had looked up, nodding - Bossuet must have had a certain expression on his face, because he had almost immediately backtracked. “Well, yeah, I would like to have a bird - unless you’re afraid of them? I really should have asked that before bringing it up, I’m sorry,” he replied, giving Bossuet that guilty, wide-eyed look, like a puppy who had been caught stealing food.
He wasn’t afraid of them, of course; more so, he was cautious around them, and didn’t really like his odds when it came to one descending from the heavens like a vengeful angel every time he walked into their house. But, he knew how much Joly had wanted a pet; he’d been looking longingly at shelters for months, and was always asking them about different types of animals. He had probably hoped that he was being subtle about it, but Musichetta had caught on almost immediately. Once she had tipped Bossuet off on the hints that he had been dropping, it became hard to ignore them.
If we had a dog, what kind would you want? Do you think we’d ever adopt a cat? Do ferrets actually smell? I’m not convinced that they do. How hard do you think hedgehogs bite? What kind of name would you give a bearded dragon if you had one?
And really, who was he to dash his hopes? If Joly had admit specifically to wanting a bird, who was he to refuse him without even considering it? And he really did have such a hard time saying no to those big brown doe eyes of his…
“No, I’m not afraid of birds,” Bossuet had responded. “I just don’t know much about them as pets. What do you think, ‘Chetta?” Musichetta had given him that sly little smirk over her mug that had told him she was onto him. She had raised her eyebrow subtly at him - You’re really not afraid of them? she was asking. Bossuet shook his head. No, I’m really not, was his silent reply. She had then turned to Joly, that bright smile on her face. “They’re good pets. They can be a little noisy, and sometimes they’re attention hogs; but there are kinds that aren’t too loud or aggressive. We’ll just have to do our research.”
Joly had looked back at Bossuet, his eyes shining with hope.
Bossuet had caved a little too easily.
After about a month of debating the pros and cons of various breeds, they had settled on a cockatiel; not too big that Bossuet would be running for cover, and relatively affectionate. They had gone to a shelter that had a cockatiel, recently surrendered by its owner, with the hopes of adopting it; but when they had entered the corridor where the birds were kept, Joly had zoned in on something else altogether.
An African Grey parrot.
It didn’t look threatening, aside from stature in comparison to the other birds. It was huddled down on a perch, gray feathers messy and unkempt - it seemed that it had been pulling out its own feathers. One leg was tucked up against its stomach as it dozed, eyes closed and body still. Joly instantly gravitated towards it, as easily as a magnet to its opposite pole, making a little sound of distress at the state of the bird. The parrot opened its eyes instantly, and stood back up so quickly it wobbled on the wooden perch - before it could lose its balance entirely, it flapped its wings, catching itself with a bit of effort. It hopped away from Joly on one foot, feathers standing on end in apparent alarm; Joly shuffled back immediately, a guilty look on his face. “What’s happened to this one?” Musichetta asked the volunteer, May, who was acting as their guide. She had paused, turning back to see which animal had caught her eye; her expression fell a bit when she saw Joly peering up at the parrot.
“That’s Charlie,” May answered, her tone becoming a bit more morose out of sympathy. “He’s… been through a lot. His owner didn’t take very good care of him; whoever they were, they abused him. He was left here in a box without a note, and no food or water. His leg was broken, and it was so badly infected that it had to be amputated. That’s why he stumbled a little when you approached him; he’s still a little scared of people.”
As soon as she said it, Joly looked back at his lovers with those big, sad eyes, as if he had been personally injured. Bossuet had to admit that it had gotten to him, as well; it seemed impossible to him that anyone could be capable of being so cruel to any kind of animal, especially one that was meant to be a companion to them. He just couldn’t wrap his head around how heartless one would have to be to intentionally harm their pets; especially to the extent of the animal losing a limb, or losing their trust in humans.
“How long has he been here?” Joly asked in a small voice, staring up at Charlie with his hands clutched together at his chest. It was a familiar action - he did it every time something struck a heartstring, and considering how big of a heart he had, it was fairly often. “Nine years,” May answered solemnly. “no one wants him because they’re afraid he’ll lash out, or that he’s too much of a responsibility. Some people just think he’s too ugly, or they don’t want to adopt a pet that might live as long as they do. They don’t want to make the commitment.”
Bossuet didn’t need to look at either of them to know that the decision had made - because he was already completely on board.
“How much is the adoption fee?” Bossuet asked.
May smiled warmly at that; but not nearly as brightly as Joly had.
Charlie was not entirely accepting at first; but Joly didn’t stop trying to forge a bond with him for a single moment.
The parrot was quiet and almost introverted - he didn’t like being held, and often tried to escape if one of them held their hand out to him, however slow the approach. Joly spent countless hours sitting next to the huge birdcage, talking to Charlie about his day and asking him questions about his as if he would reply; sometimes, when he had run out of things to say, he would pick up one of his favorite books and read to the parrot. He seemed especially fond of reading passages detailing dragons and mythical birds to him.
And bit by bit, Charlie learned to accept his presence.
He stopped jerking away when Joly walked by, and no longer tried to get to the other side of the room when he heard his voice. He was no longer flinching away from their laughter, and slowly, he stopped pulling out his feathers in favor of curiously picking at the toys and puzzles that they had bought for him. Joly would offer his hand to Charlie at times, hoping that he would hop over from the perch; a few times, he’d been bitten or nipped at, and many of those times, the parrot had drawn blood. Joly was ever-careful that he didn’t react negatively, and instead of jerking his hand away or raising his voice, he would carefully step back and apologize for startling him. When Charlie had finally allowed Joly to gently stroke his feathers, he had the biggest, beaming smile on his face - and from there, things only improved.
Joly was the only one that was allowed to carry him for a long time. Charlie would perch on his shoulder as he sat at his desk, or land in his lap when he sat on the chair next to the birdcage. It took a few weeks and a lot of gentle encouragement, but he finally started showing Musichetta the same trust, hitching rides on her shoulder as she walked about the house. He always went back to Joly, in the end; he was a one-person bird, it seemed, but Musichetta hardly minded. Joly was incredibly cheerful before they had adopted Charlie, of course - but he was so often in high spirits and so often gushing over his new feathered friend, who was the subject of many Instagram posts and Snapchat stories.
Bossuet, on the other hand, hadn’t yet gained Charlie’s trust or affection.
In fact, Charlie often puffed up defensively from Joly’s shoulder whenever Bossuet was near; he wasn’t competing for Joly’s affections, per say, but he was certainly less than excited about Bossuet’s presence in the room. He didn’t squawk or scream at him, though, which he had considered to be a good thing for a while… at least, until Joly had gotten the parrot talking, and he’d told Bossuet with the utmost confidence, feathers fluffed out and chest pushed forward as if trying to intimidate him, ‘scram, punk.’
Musichetta had choked on her tea, and Joly had snorted loudly. Bossuet had heeded the warning and promptly made his exit.
Charlie was absolutely, irrevocably, undeniably out to get him. And Bossuet just wasn’t sure what to do about it.
He looked up from his phone, taking in the scene just across the coffee table. Joly was sitting with his leg pulled up onto the couch, knee bent upward, the other rested out comfortably on the cushions, as he’d taken his prosthetic off once he’d gotten home. Charlie was perched on his bent knee, facing Joly, and leaning down to give him little ‘bird kisses’ - pressing his beak to Joly’s nose and making exaggerated noises to signify a smooch. Joly was petting his feathers lightly, that happy, relaxed smile on his face, watching a cartoon on the television idly when his attention wasn’t on the parrot.
The moment Bossuet reached for his little bag of Goldfish crackers, Charlie was standing upright and watching.
He froze with his hand hovering mid-air.
“I don’t think your bird likes me very much,” he stated.
Joly looked up to glance between the two, eyebrows drawn in confusion. “I’m sure that isn’t true,” he replied, tapping Charlie gently on the end of his beak; the parrot turned his attention back towards him, ‘kissing’ the pad of his finger. “he might not be used to you yet. Isn’t that right, Charlie?” “Right,” the bird answered without missing a beat. Bossuet was a little off-put by how easily he always answered Joly. Did he truly understand what he was saying, or was he guessing…?
“It’s been almost a year, though,” Bossuet responded, a bit poutily. As convinced as he was that Charlie was out for blood, he was a little disheartened that the bird didn’t like him - or even seem to readily tolerate him, really. Joly hummed under his breath, looking back at Charlie almost questioningly. “Maybe it’s only because you don’t talk to him as much as me and ‘Chetta,” Joly concluded. “I’m sure he likes you; he’s just a little nervous. It took him a long time to get used to me, after all.”
Bossuet sighed, popping one of the little crackers into his mouth before he replied. “I don’t think that’s it. I think he wants you to himself, and I’m slowly becoming his enemy.” His boyfriend laughed, shaking his head; Charlie imitated that laugh almost eerily well, and Bossuet found himself gawking for a moment.
“No, that’s not it, either - he wouldn’t like ‘Chetta nearly as much as he does if he wanted all my attention.” He looked back over at Bossuet, as if set to say something else - but his eyes fell to the little bag of Goldfish sitting next to him, and Bossuet could almost hear the gears turning. The moment he had spoken, Bossuet felt his heart plummet:
“I have an idea.”
“Oh, no,” Bossuet started to protest. “whatever it is, I’m not doing it. I love you with all of my heart, but I am not doing it.”
“Just hear me out,” Joly chuckled, shaking his head fondly at him. And really, Bossuet couldn’t deny him that. It didn’t mean he’d go through with this idea of Joly’s, of course; but he could at least listen to it before he took a stance on it. “I can prove to you that Charlie doesn’t dislike you - because I promise, he doesn’t! Give him one of your Goldfish.”
Bossuet looked down almost appraisingly at the bag next to him. He didn’t have the best of luck with birds. They often bit him, screamed at him, pecked him - and if he got in close quarters with a bird as large as Charlie and offered him a tiny cracker just the size of his fingertip, there was no telling what the damage might be.
Joly, as if sensing his thoughts, smiled softly. “Just trust me on this one, alright…? You don’t have to, but I promise you he isn’t going to hurt you, love.”
Bossuet gave a heavy sigh, and plucked a Goldfish from the bag, looking down at it as if his fate was resting upon the tiny cracker. “Do you think Ferre will believe me when I tell him why I’m going in for stitches?”
“Bossuet.”
“It’s a fair question! I need another story ready in case he doesn’t.”
“You won’t need stitches. You don’t have to give him one at all, honest!”
“But I want to,” Bossuet countered stubbornly, getting up from the armchair and going to sit next to Joly on the couch. Charlie watched his every move - but he was not fluffing his feathers out defensively, or trying to get between him and Joly. It didn’t stop him from being a bit apprehensive as he settled down on the sofa, of course.
Slowly, Bossuet situated the Goldfish between his thumb and pointer finger, and held it up as if in offering.
Charlie considered the cracker for a long moment. He leaned down, plucking it gently from his fingers; his beak barely touched his skin, and he was just as careful as Bossuet had been in the exchange.
Joly grinned, praising the bird for a moment before he leaned over to kiss Bossuet’s cheek. Feeling his smile against his skin was never any less heartwarming to him, and he could feel his own lips curling up in response. “See? He doesn’t dislike you. You just need to get used to each other.”
Bossuet reached up carefully to pet Charlie, who was munching happily on the Goldfish; he didn’t try to duck away from his hand, and he didn’t turn to bite him when he realized who was touching him.
“Maybe you’re right.” He conceded. “But I hope he doesn’t expect me to hand over all of my Goldfish that easily in the future.”
“Greedy,” Joly laughed.

Family Parrot Bird - Parrots For Sale | Species Of Parrot Family Birds
Tumblr media
Parrot breeding is both science and art. It can be a key component of how you pick and choose your pet parrot - or how your baby birds will behave if you want to sell them. Parrot breeding is not just about procedures and methods that prepare your pet parrot for you.
It is the combination of a systematic methodology that is combined with craftsmanship. Parrot breeding does not only involve a little bit of financial backing but also a lot of personal and non-monetary investment. It entails a lot from the breeders. Breeding methods used greatly affect the health of parrots.
There are two most important aspects that parrots owners should focus on it first is weaning (it is the stage where a baby parrot has to be prepared to be fledged) and second is feeding of the parrot. A parrot breeder should be very particular about feeding since different parrot species have different responses to feeding.
Feeding can be a messy proposition SO breeders must make sure that the parrot's diet is nutritious and safe. Parrot's future behavior patterns, intelligence, emotional health as well as levels of socialization is largely dependent on the methods of parrot breeding used for its rearing and for its caring.
There are a lot of breeds of Parrots so it is impossible to name them all, instead we have decided to pick 3 of the most popular parrot breeds.
African Grey
They are highly regarded by experts and pet owners because African Grey parrots are known for their intelligence. According to latest research they can have the same intelligence as that of a 3 year old child. They are entertaining and charming.
Amazons
They are regarded as the most comical and gregarious pet. They are known for their prolific talking ability. They are stout in terms of appearance and this sets them apart from all other Parrot breeds.
Cockatoos
They are unique parrots. They have a crest on top of their heads and when they are startled or excited the crest like figure becomes erect. Cockatoos are sometimes hard to deal because they are sometimes needy.
