The concept of this suit is Moon and poison. Originally Aradia is a witch, with a connection with the Moon and Star magic and poisonous plants. Her suit has doodled lilies-of-the-valley and her earrings are angel's trumpet.

Hidden pics shows how my first design looked like. It just made sense to change it to this bulky athletic type due to her own background as a mercenary and fugitive, having to rely on her physical skills for many years.

I will still use the leaner version in some occasions, though, but the changes are made look way more appealing to me 🥹

Aradia is my OC, which I'm using to interact within Marvel's Spiderverse as my Spidersona 🕷️✨ Her spider name is Melancholia.

my obsession with certain characters will take me to wild places lol

if you are new here i have to explain i really like oc x canon interactions, as you can see with all the merida x artio arts. this whole mess started with the arcana game, when i created aradia as a main character for most of the love interest routes.

with time i was able to build aradia's own lore, which is still ✨ under construction ✨tbh but she is still my go-to oc for fun interactions with most of the characters in media i like.

i imagined for a good while how aradia & miguel interactions would be, specially considering their cultural backgrounds, because in the end i don't think there's anything i can do better than exploring stories that have a particular enchantment to them and how they relate to the land, history and, most of all, to the people that are the keepers & the transformative force behind them.

this piece is almost entirely inspired and based on the rich cultural heritage of mexico, miguel's main cultural background (even though he is irish-mexican his character redesign for the movie is entirely mexican, from his features to the mesoamerican-inspired patters in his suit, as stated by lead artist @kristaferanka). i personally headcanon miguel as indigenous or as a mestizo with strong indigenous heritage, which is why i went for nahua mythology as my main source.

(it's important to point out that the nahuas are not the only indigenous people on mexico, i just choose it for a greater familiarity and to create a parallel with aradia's li in her original lore, another oc of mine.)

even though tezcatlipoca & coyolxauhqui do not have a romantic interaction in the stories, it seemed like a good metaphor for both of the characters, due to miguel's anger issues and appearance, which remind me of the jaguar god and aradia's role as a witch with a strong connection to the moon & goddess diana.

the nine emotions (navarasam) mentioned are an echo my earliest drafts and ideas during her creation process, when i imagined her with a south asian background and named her yasmin. from this original concept the most important element that remained were the jasmine flowers as her flower symbol.

Aradia's redesign first post! ✨🤍

I wasn't planning on posting it that soon but since it was finished and my Artio WIPs are still far from over here it is 👉🏼👈🏼

So, as you can notice, I worked up on her nose, giving her a more Mediterranean look making it aquiline, which is way more suitable for her imo since her cultural & ethnic background is Italian & Egyptian inspired 🌾

She is supposed to be on her 30's or late 20's. Her features are sharper and her physique is now athletic since she is a fugitive and her magical powers are diminished, which forced her to develop fighting skills. The white hair strands appeared due stress.

As for her personality, the fact that she is always at a life & death situation made her paranoid & restless. She has trusting issues and her approach to new people & situations is shooting first and asking later lol

Her only companions are her familiar, a jackal named Inpu and Pasiphae, what we can call some sort of dæmon, spirit companion.

That's pretty much where I found it suitable for her to enter Touchstarved lore, which I will develop in later posts her relationship with the M5, Sen & Elyon.

Well, I guess that's pretty much it, I don't want to spoil the surprise with too much details, but I hope you enjoyed what I did to her!

The OC I choose to ship with him is Aradia, since she's my go-to for OCxcanon interactions.

About her clothing, it was based on her original design and will probably not be her suit so don't get to excited lol

Honestly I was crawling with this piece the whole week because I simply changed it so many times 🫠

But I'm satisfied with the overall result, colors look solid, background is nice and they're so cute I could eat them so I'm happy.

Anger burns like smoke; smothering incense made with rotten leaves. Vision twisted, mind clouded, eyes flashing crimson (eyes that gaze through the coral lights, never to see anything but their own sorrow).

Clenched fist, trembling fingers with the boiling anticipation of war, claws protruding with the natural violence of thorns. Secluded and out of reach is he who built walls of silence and shunned the nature of other things that could speak besides his own mourning.

But there she was before all things, before the walls with running codes and electricity; before friends could be made of untouchable matter and before metal ships could depart to the moon. There she was, with skin completion as warm as the fruit of cacahuatl, reaching out her elegant hand to the back of the lonely God born of silence and smoke.

Muscles twitch and tense, sharpness cuts the air like a blade and there goes his very own hand, deadly claws on gentle neck with skin as the cocoa beans.

The sharp eyes of the goddess travelled through all the nine emotions as the moon changes each month in the sky. Her sinistra, dark as the itztli stone, absorbing light and marked with symbols that awaken nature in all things and the children of Arachne, gently pulled the beast-like claws away from her exposed jugular.

Exposing her own claws, long and sharp as talons, her palm closed on his own, his hand twice as big but not less frail. The hunter now made prey wondered how would it be if those talons gripped hard on his own neck, her pitch black fingers closing on his throat with lingering violence. He dwelled in these thoughts for the breath of a moment and he didn't dislike them.

"Careful with those, Tezcatlipoca. Sharp claws and a clouded mind are often the recipe of needless conflict." Stated in a gentle voice the daughter of the starry sky who watches all things.

Talons and claws retracted revealing the gentleness of the children of humankind, their hands cupping each other gently filling each other's empty spaces with the warmth of freshly born tenderness.

"Aradia. I am sorry. I didn't know you were there. No one ever is." His voice was tinted with the sadness of isolation.

The daughter of the cocoa tree, with eyes like the birds-of-prey but with the gentleness of the feathers of the quetzal, lifted her gaze up to his, dark purple irises reflecting on other irises like pools of blood.

"Miguel. I know I'm not what you expected. And that due to fate I crashed against your life, quite literally like a shooting star. But I am here now. I am not afraid of you. And I will not shun you away."

The man of the shadows who dwelled in towers of loneliness was now dimly lit by a warm feeling: twinkling lights through a mirror of smoke, Tezcatlipoca wrapped in a coat of stars.

The daughter of the land of Two Horizons, exhaling the fragrance of orange blossoms and jasmine, her moon face as the queen of stars. Coyolxauhqui facing the smoking mirror.

itztli: Nahuatl; obsidian stone, a naturally occurring volcanic glass that has been used for thousands of years by indigenous cultures in Mexico for making tools, weapons, and art. Its deep black color and sharp edges make it a striking and distinctive material.

Tezcatlipoca: In Nahua mythology, the jaguar god is known as Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca is one of the most significant deities in the Aztec and other Nahua cultures of Mesoamerica. His name translates to "Smoking Mirror," which refers to obsidian, a volcanic glass that was believed to have reflective properties. Tezcatlipoca is associated with various aspects, including the night sky, fate, sorcery, beauty, and war.

Coyolxauhqui: The moon goddess in Nahua mythology is known as Coyolxauhqui (pronounced koy-ol-shauh-kee). She holds a significant place in the Aztec and other Nahua cultures of Mesoamerica. happy birthday to my daughter Aradia ✨🌙 the constellation of Leo is assigned to rule the month of her birth, thus the quote above (which was also perfect due the association with The Moon, her patron Arcana and source of her magic).

when i first created Aradia i didn't know exactly where i was going to her lore, her appearance, her personality, etc, i just knew there was this game (the arcana lol) that was intere enough for me to start creating my own OC's and to actually put all the creative potential i was locking for so long.

at first i just had a name, Yasmin, and i imagined her with some sort of arab background. but as i kept playing the game and getting to know more the plot and the characters it was like everything i've ever read about magic, symbolism and mythology came forward: the immediate inspiration in a pagan folk legend of Aradia, daughter of goddess Diana, queen of witches and fairies and her association with the Moon; the Mediterranean background mythological lore; the new acquired fascination with ancient Egypt and it's divine culture, all of that added my political leaning views and aspirations for a combative posture for social justice i sometimes feel too drained and weak to apply irl.

it's like she created life of her own and decided to tell her own story through the chaos of my mind and inconsistency of my raw writing, yet to be polished into something reasonable to be read.

i enjoyed the journey with her so far, even though it's still a short one and she became relevant to me to the point of awake in me the willing to create her own main story and world building, yet in drafts and in posts to come.

i greatly cherish and appreciate your support so far. it's not easy to be so insecure and fearful of judgment and still insisting in sharing your work. thank you for being here 🤍
