[Image description: Six captioned images of pairs of round glasses. The first one has black lenses and is labelled "cool, aloof, mysterious (probably hiding insecurity)". The second one has light pink lenses and is labelled "fun, flirty, silly (specially when heart shaped)". The third one had red lenses and is labelled, in all caps, "whore". The fourth one has yellow lenses and is labelled "either super chill or lowkey sinister with no inbetween". The fifth ones are three pairs of glasses one on top of the other, a purple one, a blue one and an aqua green one. This one is labelled "strange, whimsical, possibly magical". The last one is not round; is a pair cinema 3d glasses and is labelled "wildcard". /end ID.]
Lemme think for a bit... I think a mix of the yellow one (both meanings) and the cool colors one (green, blue and purple)

me immediately reblogging and participating is so true. i love that you're a lana girl just like me <333 congrats, angel you deserve the absolute world!
❤️ please ! fandom: scream + here's my funky little description!
full name: allyson. ( it's actually my middle name ), entj, she/her, 19. my favorite colors are pink and navy blue. i'm 5'11, afro-latina, and a scorpio sun, taurus moon, and pisces rising (according to my chart i'm ruled by jupiter and the sun). i am a lana truther but some of my other favorite artists include banks, lorde, bad bunny, and coco + clair clair.
i'm bisexual, but i have a larger attraction to women than men. my relationship with my mum is a bit strained but i'm close to my dad (not in the internalized misogyny way though). i was raised in the south (to this day i don't know why my parents did this to me) but spent a lot of time up north and went through the catholic girl phase including ending up wanting to kiss girls lmao. i'm deeply spiritual but not religious and wear a lot of jewelry (gold and silver).
right now i'm in school for cosmetic chemistry to learn how to formulate makeup. i am obsessed with aesthetics. i'm very sentimental and emotional but not when you first meet me. when it comes to love i fall last but the hardest. i love to read (currently rereading beautiful creatures which is an all-time fave) and some of my favorite films are jackie, arrival, last night in soho, thoroughbreds, and the great gatsby. i can be kind to a fault but i don't care because i'd rather die than be known as mean.
according to my friends here are things that they associate with me: leaving long messages for them that connect to bluetooth in their car, coconut and vanilla scented anything, spiced coffee in the mornings bc i learned it from my mum, bamboo hoops, slowed lana songs, minimalism w art deco accents, annotations in my books to the point where the pages are cracking, long box braids, almond shaped nails, pinterest, the almond blossom painting by van gogh (this made me cry), birth charts, going to the cinema alone, upstate new york, and vacations on film.
i am so sorry if this is way too much info but i love you and i'm so proud of you!! you deserve everything you're getting and you are so sweet to top it all of! can't hug you in person but know that i'm always sending you my love, all of it.
my love !! you’re so sweet and all the best girls are lana girls i swear !!
honestly you give me such aqua, mermaidy, beachy, beautiful vibes ! i love earthy girls and with you being an earth sign i feel like your aura and vibe just ties all in so well ! you seem so pretty and peaceful i can just tell you’re a wonderful person ! 💗
but i totally ship you with… jill roberts.
you’re both complete opposites, but opposites attract! you wear the pink shirts and jill wears the blue plaid! a pisces and a taurus are a terrific match! you’re both able to comfort each other in times of need and are a strong, stable couple! you bring a lot of love and brilliance to each other, and help each other find the happiness and delight in things!
you’re both lana lovers! you help jill bring out her emotions and express them to you, it t as yes a-lot for her to open up towards you but you’re her rock! you both share a love of reading and recommend books to each other! you’re both very much vanilla girls, you both smell very sweet, always stealing each others coconut scented body sprays and if you ever trade clothes you can smell each other on them!
you definitely do each others nails! painting them pastels with french tips or even just giving each other manicures sometimes! jill has plans to visit new york at some point and she really wants to take you with her, and explore the big apple with you! she can’t wait for all the adventures and exploring you’ll get up-to! but you both live a very simple life too! you both enjoy just relaxing and being in each others presence.
i hope you like it ! i would love to see you and jill together oml ! 💗

“What are you doing here?”
The flat affect was supremely annoyed and accompanied by hackles raising and brows furrowing. Aoi had her hands on her hip whilst Miyu scurried closer, clutching onto her girlfriend’s arms and it took Ryoken quite a fair bit not to mirror that onto himself and Spectre, who had been the one to receive such a scathing question from Aoi.
“What? I’m not allowed to go to the cinemas?” Spectre asked, irate.
“I, um, think we’re all here for the same reason.” Miyu whispered. “A date.”
“To see the new Blue Angel anime movie?” Aoi exclaimed.
“Yes.” Spectre said.
“Why?” Aoi replied.
“Because I like Blue Angel as well?” Spectre confusedly replied. As he did so, he raised his hand to his chest, his Duel Disc glinted underneath the cuff of his sleeve. An action he did not realise would be, in what the show business calls, foreshadowing.
Ryoken sighed, “Come on, let’s just go find our seats.” He already was here to be nice. He would have much preferred to go to the movie in the next cinema room over, which was promising helicopter crashes and guns and explosions, but Spectre so very rarely requested to see movies, he was more than happy for it to be Spectre’s choice.
It was just a shame that in order to get to their seats, there first had to be a debacle. And there always had to be a debacle first which was what made taking Spectre out in public so difficult at all.
He and Ryoken had been going one way, coming from the snack bar and ticket kiosk, and they - Sugisaki Miyu and Zaizen Aoi - had been coming from another direction: the photo booth set up, all giggly and smiley… Up until Aoi had spied Spectre from across the room which was quite an achievement. Albeit for all the wrong reasons.
“Don’t you think it's a little strange for a cyber terrorist such as yourself to be going on dates?” Aoi asked. “Isn’t there a warrant out for your arrest or something?”
“Not anymore thanks to the kind generosity of your brother, now, let’s all go. I’d hate to miss the adverts.” Ryoken said and he was trying so hard, so gallantly, so heroically, to move them all along but it just wasn’t working.
Spectre was rooted to the comically coloured and garishly designed navy and rainbow carpets. As was Aoi, Miyu discovered when she graciously tried to take the hint and hurry on her own girlfriend per Ryoken’s lead.
Aoi was still unhappy with the reply. Understandable. There was still bad blood between her and Spectre. Though it was understandable to anyone but Spectre, it seemed. Spectre continued to frown. Aoi continued to stare him down.
“I also just find it incredibly strange,” she said, practically snarling by now, which did not suit her, Miyu would like to remark, as she was too cute to snarl underneath her fluffy brunette bob, “that you consider yourself a Blue Angel fan after what you did to her book?”
Aoi continued to fume and as she did so, she inadvertently mimicked Spectre’s own gesture of moving her arm so that the Duel Disc underneath her sleeve glinted. Two for two now, and per the show business rules of storytelling, that meant something was bound to happen or else it would be for naught and be wasted space in the script.
“You’re still on that?” Spectre huffed. “That happened months ago. Move on, Blue Angel.”
“Yes, I am. It was salt in the wound, you coward.” Aoi spat and she sharply wrung out her hand.
Causing poor Aqua inside to have quite the experience of a tilter-whirl.
“Whoa, Aoi, not so rough, please…” Aqua piped up.
Her little voice was fragile as her eyes spun. She had to hold onto the rim of Aoi’s Duel Disc for leverage lest she get motion sick. For a blue creature, she looked almost green but her sudden appearance caused more commotion than she intended.
Aoi and Miyu exchanged a look. As did Ryoken and Spectre. Then Earth popped out of Spectre’s Duel Disc, enchanted by the fact that he had heard Aqua’s voice. He looked quite happy, large hands over the edge of Spectre’s Duel Disc, all but grinning as he greeted Aqua from across the way. It was quite the ravine for two Ignis, not so much for Aoi and Spectre.
“Aqua, it is good to see you. I did not realise that you would be coming.” Earth said, bright and chatty.
“I didn’t realise you would be coming either.” Aqua replied, her eyes squinted in an Ignis smile.
Ryoken stiffly turned his head to Spectre, he hissed through gritted teeth, “You didn’t tell me that he was coming.”
“What was I meant to do?” Spectre asked in a small, embarrassed voice. He awkwardly held out his hand so the two Ignis could continue to chatter; a gesture mirrored by Aoi.
And mirrored again with Miyu.
The two girls huddled together much in the same way that Spectre and Ryoken were.
“So, um, why is my Ignis in your Duel Disc, honey?” Miyu asked. “I know we share her but I thought she was at home.”
“Miyu, sweetie, I also thought she was home.” Aoi replied.
Aqua pouted, “Stop talking to me like I’m not here. How could I not be interested in seeing the movie based on the book which helped kindle you two’s most precious friendship. I apologise for not making myself known sooner but the bus was so crowded and-”
“Aw, Aqua, if that was the case why didn’t you say so sooner, we would’ve loved to have brought you along.” Miyu laughed it off.
The same could not be said about how Ryoken felt about Earth.
The way that Ryoken felt about Earth. It was tolerable at best. It was mostly out of sheer stubbornness, of course. Ryoken had spent the better part of a decade seeking the total elimination of all the Ignis and the weakest parts of six months being jealous that he hadn’t been good enough to be his Father’s prized experiment period. So there was a lot happening there.
But Earth had a good heart, bigger than his already big body. He got along with Spectre. And that was the main thing. Even if it did ruffle Ryoken’s feathers, disgruntle him, and otherwise find ways to annoy him but it was to be expected. For all intents and purposes, Earth was Spectre’s purse chihuahua and wherever he went, Earth had to come along.
Even to dates at the movie where they were seeing the brand spanking new Blue Angel movie.
Ryoken glanced at Aoi and Miyu. Their own conference appeared to be over. Aqua had a much better life with them than Earth did with him and Spectre. Ryoken sighed.
“Let’s just get into the queue.” Ryoken said, sounding utterly defeated.
“Oh, um, bye, Earth, see you later.” Aqua piped up before zipping back into the hidden depths of Aoi’s Duel Disc.
Earth nodded his head and did the same. Spectre recanted his posture and appeared to be trying to un-dishevel himself from being gatekept by the canon Blue Angel URL holder between him and Aoi.
“Yeah, we need to get our print off tickets. They still only take paper here. So, like, totally mediaeval.” Miyu said and she tugged on the sleeve of Aoi’s pastel blue cardigan to distract her.
Aoi replied with a delicate and immutable grunt to acknowledge Miyu but her eyes were still on the prize of getting back at Spectre for, well, everything he had done to her. Nonetheless, it was a whole lot more different in the meat-space than the digital one. And so, the tension between Aoi and Spectre began to diffuse as Miyu very helpfully suggested that she and Aoi go to get the print-offs of their own pre-ordered tickets. Miyu dragged Aoi off and Ryoken did the same.
They meshed into the crowd which was a queue. Ryoken stood around, listening to Spectre catch him up on the lore of the Blue Angel movie. Seemingly unaware of how yearningly Ryoken was looking at the rival debut movie’s posters at the far side of the theatre.
The Five Dragons movie was easily Ryoken’s first choice.
That would have been a fantastic date, in Ryoken’s opinion. It promised everything and more from humanity over the edge of anti-Synchro domination, the apolcaplypse and all it brought. Thrills and spills, a story of fictionalised survival. It was like a bomb going off. That would have gotten all of Ryoken’s rocks off in the back of the theatre with Spectre.
If he hadn’t brought Earth and hadn’t been such an anime aficionado. Still, Blue Angel was fine. Ryoken had read the books too since they were favourites of Spectre’s and did have a fond recollection of it. He probably would have enjoyed it were it not for the unexpected date crasher in the form of the orange and brown Earth Ignis. That could have been a good, nay, even great movie date.
But then again so was going anywhere without Earth.
That was going to put yet another cramp on Ryoken’s plans to try and canoodle at the back of the cinema. He was fairly certain that Spectre would be too enraptured by the movie to even notice that Ryoken was trying to put the moves on him in the dark, the old hand over the shoulder manoeuvre, some kissing from the side. Trying to do that in sort of public would be difficult enough with Earth around and then again after that incredibly awkward encounter with Aoi, Miyu, and Aqua, too, Ryoken guessed.
Still, there were over a hundred available seats in the specific theatre playing Blue Angel. There were a dozen other movies playing at the same time and then similar crowds for the others. It totally showed in the crowds, so Ryoken and Spectre weren’t too worried about bumping into the girls again.
Though, that might have dampened Earth’s spirits. He would have liked to have spent more time with Aqua but oh well. He didn’t exactly have a say in that given who his Origin and his Origin’s boyfriend were.
And so, despite the abrasion between the two sets of Blue Angel movie-goers, the queue did get shuffled so they thankfully ended up away from one another for its entire duration. The conversations moved on and the mood lightened again for both Ryoken and Spectre. The attendant hardly blinked twice as they tried to get everyone sorted and rounded up. This way madam, that way, sir. Every ticket barely sighted before it was stamped.
It was just a shame that despite the distance put between them.
They still ended up next to one another.
“What are you doing here?” Aoi asked as she shimmied past the knees of other people from one direction, the left, as she encroached on Spectre who was barging past from the right.
“Trying to watch a damn movie in peace if it would please you.” Spectre hissed.
“Do you want to swap?” both Miyu and Ryoken piped up from over their respective partner’s shoulder buuuuuut…
Aqua and Earth.
Puppy dog eyes did not begin to describe how their expressions glittered and glimmered. There was no changing the arrangements of their pre-ordered seats now. So, entirely begrudgingly, Aoi and Spectre sat down next to one another inside the theatre. The lights of which began to barely dim as they rested their hands close to one another. Too close for their comfort, personally, but it was for Aqua and Earth’s sake.
It seemed a single date had become a double date which had become a triple date.
Suddenly a movie with a runtime of just under two hours may as well as be slated for all eternity because neither Aoi or Spectre were looking forward to sitting next to one another as they watched. Miyu and Ryoken, however, were perfectly comfortable. Miyu kicked her feet up, Ryoken meanwhile had his hand in his extra large bucket of popcorn. Then, of course, Aqua and Earth were having the times of their lives, quaking in joy as they got all caught up from one anothers’ absence and were generally excited to be included in the human activity of movie watching.
The lights continued to dim more and then whoosh. Bam, bang, the theatre opening flashed on the screen as it rolled down the wall and the adverts were cued. Thank goodness. The sweet oblivion of sugary saccharine anime couldn’t have come sooner.
But first a word from our sponsors.
Ryoken was very genuinely enthralled by the local business adverts whereas Miyu was just waiting for it to be over and done with. Aqua and Earth’s chatter had culled as Aoi and Spectre began to, well, it was obvious that out of everyone here. They were the ones who wanted to be here the most.
Close proximity to a sworn enemy notwithstanding.
From the sides, Miyu and Ryoken curiously observed how Aoi and Spectre’s reactions bizarrely synchronised as finally - fucking finally - the movie started. Their eyes lit up, their chests rose and fell with breaths taken and exhaled in perfect harmony to every dramatic beat in the movie. From the very first title plate credit screen.
Both were over the moon to see their favourite fictional character from a children’s picture book be turned into a rated PG family blockbuster.
And what a movie it was.
As far as Aoi and Spectre were concerned, it had everything. It had stunning, elaborate visuals and eloquently executed themes of friendship, loneliness, and redemption. It had everything: drama, action, a dash of comedy, and completely sated the child in their hearts as they watched, not even blinking lest they miss a second of what was fast becoming their favourite movie period. Easily blowing out the lesser, previous iterations of the Blue Angel canon.
Especially and most importantly the abominable live-action movie, both of which had the independent opinion that it should not be mentioned. A total blemish on the record but this? This was complete and total excellency of the media franchise.
Aqua and Earth were enjoying themselves. There were plenty of scenes which brought them to tears but they were experiencing the magic of cinema for the very first time with very little lived frame of reference so their perspective may not be accurate. Still, they were holding hands from across the frames of the Duel Disc holders and having a wonderful time together.
Meanwhile Miyu and Ryoken found it to be, well, just a movie. A very pretty and well put together movie but still just a kid’s movie. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the mindblowing gem that Aoi and Spectre were seeing it as.
They were both changed people after. Quite literally.
Not even Aqua and Earth could compare to just how swimmingly Aoi and Spectre were getting along after coming out of the cinema. Of which, they had insisted on staying until the very last credit rolled so they could watch the bonus shorts that followed.
They were the last four to leave the cinema which had mostly been filled with girls under the age of twelve accompanied by parents or other chaperones. They weren’t even moving fast, to the cinema staff’s annoyance as they tried to clean up the mess whilst Aoi and Spectre quickly found themselves engaged in a duel.
A battle of the wits. Who could out fan the other but whilst it had begun competitively, no doubt spurred on by Aoi’s dislike of Spectre, it was not staying that way. They were quizzing each other on anything, turning everything into a longform written answer.
It was giving Ryoken and Miyu quite the headache as they tossed out their empty snack packets.
“What was your favourite scene?” Aoi asked.
“The enormity of Blue Angel’s loneliness at the start. The scene composition with her over the lake was beautiful and the colour-grading in well blue was perfectly legible. Something which other movies cannot say in this day and age.” he replied. “You?”
“When she met Peach Angel for the first time.” Aoi replied. “Their meet-cute was adorable.”
“I liked it when she finally got to punch the bad guy in the face.” Ryoken piped up.
“And I loved the dance party ending!” Miyu squealed to Aoi’s laughter.
“How could I choose? Every leg of her journey was gripping. I think I understand humans better.” Earth added on, holding tight as Spectre was excitedly swinging his hand.
“Don’t learn from fiction, Ignis.” Ryoken roused.
“What about you, Aqua?” Miyu asked.
“Oh, um, it was all very good. I liked it quite a bit but nothing springs to mind straight away as it was all very consistently high quality.” Aqua diplomatically said. “Although, I was very touched by the two main girls’ friendship, it very much reminded me of you and Aoi.”
“Aww…” both Aoi and Miyu cooed, whilst Ryoken’s skin crawled.
Spectre, meanwhile, nodded his head sagely. He had two cents to give about their heart-warming friendship also.
And so, The chatter continued to disperse in ripples throughout but it was very obvious who the dominant voices in the conversation were. The two who were usually anything but being reserved and introverted…
As a crowd of four - six with the sort of hidden Ignises who were happily chatting in hiding - they were quite bustling as they came down the corridor and into the light of the cinema’s main foyer. Aoi and Spectre, walking shoulder to shoulder, ecstatically gushing to one another regarding the minutiae of the movie they had just watched. They were flanked either side by their respective partners who were not quite so enthused.
The Blue Angel movie was fine. Just not either Miyu or Ryoken’s things. Miyu had moved onto other fandoms, though she did enjoy it quite a bit nostalgically, especially as she got to go see it with Miyu. And, meanwhile, Ryoken was still lusting to see a movie where things got blown up as his tastes were completely opposite to Spectre’s. However, to Aoi Spectre, it was a masterpiece. Nothing less than a spectacular godsend to animation, acting, and storytelling. It was just nice to see those two in particular get along. Bad blood no more, it seemed.
“When Blue Angel sacrificed herself for her friends, I was so very touched. The music in that scene was absolutely moving.” Spectre practically bawled.
“I know, I know, and in Peach Angel’s arms, too, no less? I know it's not intended to be lesbian representation but it was so very gratifying.” Aoi agreed.
Spectre sagely nodded his head, “The subtext there is hardly subtext, I think it would be a disservice to interpret their relationship as strictly platonic.”
His reply was both courteous and measured, surprising Aoi. Then again, Spectre’s other analysis thus far had been completely perfect. He was right. The music in that particular scene was heartbreakingly perfect. And so, they continued to do the unbelievable: get along and get along tremendously, famously, even.
To the absolute morbid fascination of their respective boyfriend and girlfriend whom they had basically left in the dust as they were so busy reliving every second of the movie they had just watched together.
It appeared that Blue Angel could mend any relationship and bring together any opposites. Not just her fellow angels from across the colour spectrum. It would be impressive if it wasn’t quite so bizarre to see Aoi and Spectre get along so miraculously despite their history and how it even intersected with their love of the same fictional character.
“Oh, hey, is that Ai and Yusaku?” Miyu asked, turning her head to gawk as they walked in one direction and sure enough.
A very conspicuous couple of one dressed in a hoodie and the other dressed in vampire cosplay was going the other way. Miyu waved them down and SOLtiS Ai very happily waved at her back.
With those two now flagged down, Ryoken huffed and folded his arms. He watched as they came closer, Ai practically prancing as Yusaku followed after, sucking down a soft drink of the medium size variety.
“Whoa, now there’s an unlikely duo, since when did they get along?” Ai asked.
“We just got out of the Blue Angel Movie showing.” Ryoken tiredly explained. Though, it could be his ear that Spectre was talking off right now so he was somewhat glad that it wasn’t.
“Are you guys headed there next?” Miyu asked. “Because it was pretty good.”
“Clearly.” Yusaku agreed. “But nah, we’re going to see the Five Dragons movie.”
“That’s the one I wanted to catch but it was Spectre’s turn to pick.” Ryoken shrugged. He glanced over his shoulder, “Oi, you two.”
Aoi and Spectre turned around. Both immediately startled as they were so off in a world of their own. It was honestly kind of scary. Maybe it was better if they weren’t friends.
“Do you guys want to watch the Five Dragons movie next?” Ryoken asked.
“What? Why? I could not be more clearly on a date with Ai right now.” Yusaku complained.
Ryoken turned his head again and glared daggers, even Miyu looked tired, “If our dates had to get bigger, so did yours.” he said. In a clearly, overtly threatening and menacing way.
“Also Aqua and Earth are here too.” Miyu added, sweetening the pot, surprisingly. At least for Ai, anyway.
Ai bounced on his heel as he clutched at Yusaku’s shoulder, excited and affectionate, “It could be fun to have everyone tag along.”
“Fine but I’m only paying for you and me still.” Yusaku said.
“That’s fine, I’ll treat everyone else.” Ryoken smirked.
“Fuck you.” Yusaku groaned.
Ryoken, meanwhile, was just pleased that the expression of misery loving company couldn’t be truer. This was just the perfect solution to his movie going woes. But it truly was the more the merrier. The group getting bigger and bigger, noisier too as they re-entered the line, more or less by two by two given who was on the original solo date with who, to grab more tickets to another movie sure to be a blockbuster.

Goodnight 3DS eshop
the 3DS eshop shutdown yesterday, signalling the end of life for the system. so if you'd allow me, I'd like to talk a little bit about one of my favorite handhelds
I was bought an ambassador model 3DS for my birthday in 2011. an aqua blue model with one of the pretty admittedly meager selection of launch titles, Pilotwings Resort. I was ecstatic, I had been a proud passenger of the 3DS hype train ever since I read about its announcement in the Official Nintendo Magazine, pawing over every detail and rumor that was printed. I didn't have functional internet access at this point in my life so printed video game magazines like ONM and the then soon to rebrand Pokemon World magazine were my only portals into the world of video games, short of actually buying them in shops. Something that sticks in my head very vividly from the time between its release and me actually getting one was seeing an interactive display model in a duty free electronics store at an airport on one of my many unaccompanied flights to visit my dad. It was to my young brain, unlike any games system I had used before, baring more of a resemblance to the fancy new iPhones my parents were using than the DS lite I had with me at the time. Not to mention the 3D screen, a technology I had not experienced outside of cinema before (the first 3D film I saw was Avatar some years previous), the depth of field provided by this screen was genuinely amazing, and its use as a tool to aid gameplay in games like Super Mario 3D Land and the Legend of Zelda N64 remakes made it feel like a genuinely useful gimmick, even if it did often cause performance issues (due to the 3DS hardware requiring you to run two simultaneous GPU pipelines, rather than just rasterizing the scene twice like modern VR headsets work )
The 3DS was my introduction to a tonne of Nintendo's franchises, both old and new. It was how I beat my first Zelda game, in the surprisingly improved remake of Ocarina of Time. It was how I first played a Metroid game with the Ambassador Edition Virtual Console release of Metroid Fusion and it was how I first got to experience Fire Emblem in Fire Emblem Awakening.
In addition to this, it was my first real introduction to a system with internet connectivity and an online store. Sure the family Wii had the shopping channel, but the Wii was disconnected from the internet most of the time and I only used the shop once, after a well meaning but not tech literate family member bought a Wii points card for me, But the 3DS was mine, and I could browse the shop whenever i had Wi-Fi. The 3DS eshop had some really unique quirks even compared to later Nintendo storefronts, fun animations, trailers for upcoming games (which had to be downloaded as apps due to limitations in the eshop app itself) and a general atmosphere second only to that of the original Wii Shop channel. The Content on the eshop was incredibly varied too, originally it was a mix of smaller games similar to WiiWare (called 3DS Download Titles) and the downloadable DSiware that was featured on the short lived DSi system and its shop. but later it expanded to first include a portion of Nintendo's Classic games as emulated Virtual Console titles and later offering entire full "retail" games as downloads. Some of the most interesting 3DS download titles were the 3D Classics series, a collection of NES and Arcade titles re imagined to make use of the 3D display.
For all my love of this system, it wasn't all perfect. The first two years of the systems life was more Barren than the PS5's, and without the pandemic as an extenuating factor. My strongest memory of playing the system in its early years was playing DS games like Pokemon Black and New Super Mario Bros, while waiting for new 3DS games that are actually worth playing, something that was pretty rare. Several franchises had a pretty rough time on the 3DS, Pokemon for example had some pretty tortured releases with the buggy and kiddiefied Pokemon X and Y, and the stripped back and lazy feeling Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity, a misstep that felt like it killed the series at the time. It genuinely felt like Game Freak couldn't really get a proper grasp on making 3D games, compared to the 2D/2.5D ones found on the DS and previous systems, something that has only become more clear with their switch releases being much the same way. One other Issue lots of people, myself included, had with the system during its lifespan was how Nintendo drip fed virtual console software over years, even when the same titles were already available on the Wii previously. An Attitude that Nintendo has continued with the Wii U virtual console and the new Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.
My time with my original 3DS was sadly cut short when, on my bus journey to college, a can of coke that was put in my bag without my knowledge exploded soaking everything in the bag in sticky acidic syrupy liquid, luckily for my sake the 3DS was the only thing killed, My Macbook with unbacked-up coursework and my hard drive with 3 unfinished mixing sessions both survived the incident only becoming faintly coke scented in the process. Several months later I was bought a "new 3DS" (Nintendo's naming scheme for the 3DS was Byzantine at best and Gilliamesque at worst). This new system was my introduction to Console Hacking and the homebrew scene, something I have been involved in as a user ever since and hopefully a hombrew developer as soon as I get the spare time to port something.
thank you for reading and letting me indulge my nostalgia for a system that I used from launch and will continue to use long after its official discontinuation
Some games I really enjoyed throughout its lifespan (in no particular order)
Pilotwings Resort
Mario Kart 7
Kid Icarus Uprising
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
Super Mario 3D Land
Pokemon Omega Ruby
Shin Megami Tensei 4
Bravely Default

Hello lovely! I was wondering if I could get a bsd matchup? I’m 20 and use she/her pronouns. I’m bi so any gender is fine. For personality I’m creative, introverted, and individualistic. Though I’m introverted, around my friends/when I’m comfortable I can be quite talkative and humorous. However, I definitely treasure my alone time the most. Im a very big homebody and can be very hermit introvert sometimes. As for bad traits, I am sometimes the worst pessimist when it comes to myself. I’ll be fine motivating others but then when it comes to me I live by the “be ready for the worst and you wont be disappointed” As for hobbies escaping to new worlds while reading books/comics, watching movies, and playing rpg video games. My favorite genres are fantasy supernatural, detective and sci-fi, though I do love a good classic from time to time. Apart from that, I love working out. My interests on the other hand are design focused. I’m currently in university. I love my practice and everything including, game, web and interaction design, video art and visual effects, 3D modeling and character design, and digital illustration. I hope to get into game design or visual effects in the future.
A list of random likes: coffee, chai tea, dark chocolate, rock/blues/jazz/80s pop/soundtrack music, statement jewelry and accessories, cafe art shows, arcades, comic book stores, purple, thai/Indian/Chinese food, roller blading to classic rock, quality alone time.
A random list of dislikes: people i am unfamiliar (I have trust issues oops) with and have to make small talk with, the biting cold, rain, non fiction, staying too close to reality and not being allowed to daydream/imagine/roam freely in my thoughts, physical touch, overly crowded areas.
My love language is acts of service both ways. And as said before I’m not the most comfortable with physical touch. As for what I want in a partner, I would love a companion to just explore my hobbies/interests and their hobbies/interests together. Bonus points if some overlap haha.
Thank you!
A/n: Hi!!! I had such a hard time thinking of who I should match you up with but I came to a conclusion! Also I have around 25 requests in my inbox that makes me very happy !! Sorry that this is so short but I hope you still like it! Anyways on to the match up…
Requests are still open…
I am gonna Match you up with…
JUNICHIRO!!
You want someone to explore your hobbies with?? He will be there to help you!
He doesn’t necessarily do PDA or physical affection in general (that’s where I struggled with the match up)
He wouldn’t do anything that would make you uncomfortable, so acts of service is enough for him to show his affection for you
But please say some sweet things to him, because this man’s love language is words of affirmation as well as acts of service
Nice strolls in the park maybe??
He‘d listen to you, interested in your studies and even asks you to explain some stuff further to him.
In return he tells you about his school day :)
Would take you to aqua zoos, the cinema or take you with him to shop for groceries
But honestly you two couldn’t go anywhere without having the most fun ever
Anything just gets 10x funnier

Yuri Manga Recs (Part 1)
I’m making this manga rec list for my good friend @flyingfricks. I also wanted to do this for a while now so I’m also gonna just make this for other people to use as well. All of these stories are pretty short reads so if you’re looking for something quick, ya got it here
I think about Yuri a lot despite the limited number of manga out there. It’s one of my fav genres and I really look forward to reading new stories in the future. I’m gonna avoid rating the stories because I really don’t know if I can quantify what I like about each story properly. I hope someone out there finds something they’ll enjoy
Please come talk to me if anyone ever does read any of these manga. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Ebisu-san to Hotei-san
MAL Description: An office worker, Hotei, is not pleased when high-flyer Ebisu is transferred to her branch
I read this story in high school and it’s surprising how much nuance was put into it. It’s a love story between two female coworkers so it has an interesting take on envy and feelings of inadequacy. Like imagine being raised to view other women as competition but at the same time, you’re a lesbian. It’s something I can relate to--this girl is really pretty and smart so should I be jealous or just fall for her? I think it’s normally to feel both, honestly. It’d probably leave a person with a lot of conflicting views and I think this manga does a good job showing that. I just wish it were longer :( But since it’s short, check it out
***
Girl Friends
MAL Description: When it comes to grades, bookish high school student Mariko Kumakura is at the top of her class. Socially, however, she is shy and lonely, typically eating lunch by herself. Enter the charismatic and beautiful Akko Oohashi, whose goal is to befriend Mariko and burst her out of her introverted shell.
In the process of transforming Plain Jane Mariko into one of the cutest, most popular girls in school, deep feelings begin to emerge that suggest something deeper than friendship. Will these feelings destroy the budding relationship between Mariko and Akko, or will it turn into something else?
Just two girls who become friends who become girlfriends.....is the short version of it. I related a lot with Mari and I kinda feel envious that I didn’t experience that kind of love in high school.....well at least I have this story! I feel like every high school lesbian/bisexual should read this. Maybe that’s putting a lot on it but it helped me understand myself at that age. I’ve reread it a couple times and I’m always satisfied after finishing it. Seriously, go read it. It’s a yuri classic! And it deserves all the praise and attention.
***
Mizuiro Cinema (or Aqua Blue Cinema)
MAL Description: Aqua Blue Cinema is about an actress and a girl she meets through unusual circumstances.
One of my favorite yuri stories hands-down. Probably. It’s just so sweet and fluffy!!! I love these girls so much and I was rooting for their romance throughout the story. The story itself is pretty simple but sometimes that’s what the soul needs. I appreciate stories that explore lgbt culture and the reality of being gay seriously but sometimes you just need a simple love story. It’s short so I shouldn’t spoil anything--just take it from me that you should read it!
***
Sougou Tovarisch
MAL Description: Kanna who usually enjoys being at the top of her class is outscored by one point on the first aptitude test of her high school career by the high-level kuudere/low-level dandere Yuu. Unlike Kanna, Yuu is naturally talented and couldn't care less about getting high scores, so she throws away her test immediately after after getting it. This incredibly bothers Kanna, who then in front of the class, scolds Yuu for throwing away her "symbol of how hard she worked". This gesture of kindness(??) causes Yuu to fall for Kanna. And of course, all unbeknownst to Kanna, who's all about herself anyway.
This manga is one-part romance and three-parts comedy. And I really enjoyed the comedy too! The art is really adorable and I often save pics on my phone because of how cute it all is. The main character is fucking hilarious but so are the side characters. It’s not all that heavy with the romance but the slice-of-life part is definitely enjoyable (and I’m not the type to seek out slice-of-life). The main character is super fucking adorable (girl with the orange hair) and I cannot help but pray for this hopeless girl’s happiness
***
Prism
MAL Description: School girl Megumi, suffering from an uneventful life after a fleeting grade school romance, hopes to end such boring days with her entrance into high school. Still dreaming about the peaceful days with her past love, Hikaru, she encounters a stunningly beautiful girl on her way to the entrance ceremony. Suddenly, the girl calls out for Megumi and gives her a hug! Hikaru enters back into Megumi's life not only as a classmate, but as a girl. How will Megumi handle the shocking revelation?
I read this manga in high school and it was one of the more popular yuri stories. Honestly, I was desperate to read anything at the time so I ate it up. I think I could tell that it's supposed to turn the reader on but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think it's kinda sucky that so much lesbian porn is aimed at men and a part of me wonders if this story is the same. But at the same time, there's an undeniable intimacy in the scenes. They're just two horny teens and that's refreshing to see instead of "oh but we're girls we can't do stuff like that!!" It's a pity the story was cut short. Apparently the author was caught tracing artwork using stock photos. Check it out if that sort of thing doesn't bother you.

(just a little late) you found me
for @horrornaturalevent week 2: bloody Dean POV. He and Sam are going to a vampire masquerade ball to find the alpha. They don't expect to see someone familiar there.
The secondhand tuxedo itches under Dean’s armpits and sags at the crotch. It feels like wearing someone else’s very overwashed, never dry cleaned skin. The bridge of his nose aches from the hard plastic cat mask he’s wearing, and it doesn’t help that Sam can’t even see him rolling his eyes or muttering swear words into the echo of the plastic around his mouth.
If Cas had been here, they wouldn’t have had to don this ridiculous get up. The angel could’ve mind-mojoed the head chef into believing they were part of the catering staff. But Cas has been radio silent since going off to chase a lead on Kelly in Vermont, of all places, so Dean and Sam had no choice to go in full disguise to what Sam’s been calling “the alpha vampire masquerade ball.” He even quoted some Shakespeare on the drive there, earning him a whack on the back of the head. Or an attempted whack anyways. This isn’t Romeo and Juliet, or Eyes Wide Shut, or anything remotely sexy or exciting. They don’t even get to wear cool masks or sample the free flowing champagne.
They’re just standing there, receiving the aprons that the head chef is passing out and nodding numbly to the chef’s rambling speech about the head-down, silent service policy. Don’t interact with the guests unless spoken to. Don’t take off the masks unless asked to do so. Don’t touch the blood fountains. Dean glances over at Sam, who’s two other waiters away, and nods slightly. They’re going to need to get the staff out before anyone ends up as refills for the blood fountains.
In all the years of hunting vamps Dean’s never come across bourgeois vampires. Ones with all the theatrics and glamour of stupid chick-flick paperbacks and B-horror movies. He figures this has to be the alpha vampire’s doing. The publicity, the costuming, the cinema of it all. After entire families started going missing, Dean and Sam figured out that the alpha was not only alive, but likely to name a new successor. They’d captured and questioned enough vampires to get the location of the ball, but not enough to find out when this deranged coronotation might be going down. The gathering is a three-day affair; Dean really hopes daddy vamp is making his big move on day one so he doesn’t have to suffer through this mask and rented tuxedo again.
He wishes Cas was here. Not just for the mind-mojoing. He’d feel better knowing exactly where Cas was before heading into a vampire’s den. Vermont is too boring to have taken his attention for this long anyways. They should’ve heard from him by now, at least in the form of another long voice mall. Cas has started leaving voice messages instead of texting, and Dean would never admit it but he likes hearing his voice much better than texts. It feels closer, and closeness is a rarity right now when his mother feels so far away and every strenuous knot tied in their family only seems to unravel.
The head chef finally opens the kitchen doors and lets them into the main hall. Dean works on ducking past the stream of staff to find Sam. He tries not to gawk at their surroundings, but it’s impossible not to pay attention to the glistening gold ceiling and pearl pillars of the ballroom. A spinning disco ball of aqua green and blue throws ocean waves of color across the throngs, bathing everything in an eerily calm hue. Bodies are dangling from the ceiling at odd angles--right, the blood fountains--and open wounds are dripping into giant vats below. Vampires are wearing heavy velvet dresses and bejeweled capes drag across the marble floor. There’s at least fifty people in the hall, and he’s sure more are going to be arriving as the night wears on.
His shoulder bumps against something that feels like a foot and he glances up the body right above his left shoulder. The girl is wearing a sequined dress. She’s suspended on her back by metal pins attached to a lever that hoist her corpse up and down. Blood streams down from her split spine and collects into a shallow gondola that stands waist-high on silver stumps. Her eyes are wide and sightless. She’s dead for sure. He ghosts a finger over her pale ankle just to make sure and says a mental I’m sorry.
The catering staff are 100% going to be replacements for these bodies once they’re completely drained. He and Sam have to find the alpha before that. Dean tries not to look at the bodies swinging from the roof. He can’t help them now. He needs to focus on those he can save, not the ones that the kindest thing he can do is a soft burial.
He makes his way towards Sam but gets stuck when trying to elbow past the three vampires in tailcoats who are walking spread out, swinging their ivory canes back and forth like they’re strolling around some Victorian garden. He keeps his head low and makes a move to squeeze past the one on the right, but they move and block his path again, still chattering obliviously. An opening finally appears when they sidestep around a triangular blood fountain-a headless body is being wrung out over a moving train of ornate shotglasses--and Dean’s almost past them when he catches a word they’ve said.
A word that makes his toes instinctively curl inwards. His fingers tighten and he almost drops the tray of miniature blood jellos he’s supposed to be handing out.
Angel.
Dean slinks back behind the trio. He forgets about Sam, about the alpha, about this stupid oversized tux.
“You can’t be serious,” the vampire in the middle says. “No one’s seen an angel for years.”

CHICAGO MED | Two Halves Make A Whole
✮ Part Four ✮
[Chapter List] [Part Three]
Chicago Med (One Chicago): Connor Rhodes x Original Female Character
Warnings: Swearing, adult themes, usual hospital/emergency department blood and gore.
When Mia had legged it out of the doctors lounge, the last thing on her mind had been the days events. Which, in retrospect, she should have probably dwelt more on, but considering the constant ebb and flow of patients in varying states of health, this was coming up to be a regular Tuesday.
So, as the gurney zoomed past her, Doctor Charles just a little to her right, and her bright blue gauged the sight before her, she found herself taken back.
The man who had shot the prankster.
The teacher, who had only thought he was protecting a cinema of innocents by firing at the man that everyone believed had had a gun. That had turned out to be a leaf blower dresser up as one, yes, but a horrifically stupid thing to do. After all, Chicago, with its mass number of shootings just per day, made most wary at the very least.
Then the source of the code blue caught her eye down the hall, just past where the teacher had been wheeled in. Steady steps towards the glass doors and she noted the patient within, a young man who had only been a few meters away from her when the stampede had started. He’d been getting popcorn, she remembered that, because Evie had pointed him out as ‘cute’ when they walked in.
Mia stood helplessly, aqua eyes piercing the glass divide that separated her from this man she’d never met, watching as his heart failed and his pressure spiked. Hearing the doctors in the room, who’s names right now she couldn’t even remember, call out his time of death..
It spun around her head so quickly, the days events and everything happening in front of her, that dam she didn’t even know she’d built up in her head just.. Cracked.
This man. This young man. He’d been less than five meters away. He was dead. They’d crushed him in the escape and he was dead. Evie could have died. She could have died. All it would have taken was a second. One wrong move.
The buzzing in her ears grew louder, and as she turned away from the treatment room, she passed the next, the words “stepped right in front of a car barely registered as Doctor Charles and Maggie tried to find out what had happened to the teacher.
Chattering nurses began to comment on how tragic it was, how the man before them was just seeing a movie and first became a hero, then a villain, and now a victim.
Then the cry of the younger man’s parents, being told their child has died, screamed and echoed out around the pasty halls around her.
So much noise. Tragedy.
But Mia couldn’t hear any of it.
The spinning sensation, the feeling of time crawling along like it was atop a snail and then zooming past like she was being whipped around in one of those bullet trains or a rollercoaster. Practically being pushed back in herself as it all flashed around her in a blur of colour and noise.
She didn’t register her feet moving, or the direction she was headed. Nor did she hear Ms. Reese’s question of concern as she passed her by.
No, in fact the next thing she even remembered was sitting on the floor outside the ambulance bay, trying to collect her thoughts from the whirlwind that was her mind. Glancing upward, she noticed she flecks of snow shimmering down with the light breeze in the air, the sharp cold shooting through her bones like a shot of electricity, jolting her into awareness.
Deep breath in, deep breath out.
Silence.
She wasn’t sure how long she sat out there, the tendrils of snow spinning around her and the cold of concrete stabbing into her butt, legs and palms of her hands. It could have been minutes, or hours.
“Hey.”
A deep sigh emitted from a disconnected voice, she knew who it was, of course she did, but right now it was like the part of her brain that was capable of making the link just.. Wasn’t plugged in.
A flash of ginger and burgundy is all she could really note, as the man sat next to her.
Will, she had to remind herself, after a few minutes. His name is Doctor Will Halstead. Aaand now he saw me sitting here like a crazy person. Excellent.
“What’re you doing out here?”
“Can’t you tell? Admiring the excellent view..” Mia retorted in a strained fashion of a joke. Taking another deep breath, she shook her head a little as she finally lifted her hands, which till now has been gripping the side of the concrete she’d perched on, and groaned as her cold and stiff fingers began to regain feeling. It was then she felt the sharp pangs of pain up her left wrist and the tightness of the cast around it.
“Well, I’m told you get a view of all Chicago from here.. Don’t think they meant right here but..” Will tried to reciprocate the poor joke, before sighing slowly and wrapping an arm loosely around the smaller woman’s shoulders. Gently rubbing the tops of her arms to warm her a little as she winced every now and then as the cold began to be pushed away by her return to motion.
“You’re going to be alright, Mia, you will be.” he uttered carefully, giving her a little squeeze as a sort of a side-angled hug.
“I.. I near—” her voice cracked as she tried to find the words, before she shook her head and lowered it, fixing her gaze on her old battered sneakers again. Red. Black. Slightly grey. When did she get red on them? Oh.
“Let’s get you inside, yeah? Don’t want you to add freezing yourself into hypothermia to today.”
There was a vague awareness of being helped up, carefully avoiding her left forearm and wrist, and being led into the doctors lounge, with a distant voice asking if she alright from what she thought might be April.. Scratchy cushions, and heavy lidded eyes.
She could rest here a while, Mia thought, whilst she waited.
Connor bit at his lower lip in aggravation, this was NOT how this was supposed to go. Yes, the kid has done an incredibly stupid and dick-ish thing to do, undeniably, but he.. Maybe he just thought, hoped in some small bit of his mind, no matter how much a long shot, that Mr Simms would have let the organ donation happen because of some wish for peace or..
He sighed, what was the point in dwelling on it now, really? There was nothing else he could do. He’d done the surgery, done his part, and tomorrow would be someone else. He had to remind himself of that, somehow.
But as he went to look at the nearest computer for clarification on who was next in need, his phone beeped in his pocket. He didn’t usually get messages to his personal phone in the day, save his sister or Mia when their shifts were opposite, so who.. Huh. Odd.
A quick scan through the text, and in a blur of movement, Doctor Rhodes found himself dashing for the elevators.
The ride home had been somewhat hazy, like most of her evening, Mia thought. Connor had found her not long after she’d made it back to the doctors lounge, thanks to Will of course, else right now she’d resemble a human popsicle.
It hadn’t taken them long to get home, Evie too, who was currently crashed out on their couch, passed out to the point of little snores being emitted every now and then, thanks to a nice dose of pain meds.
But Mia and Connor had wrapped up in bed, duvets and blankets huddled around them like a cocoon, with his arms wrapped tightly around her as she lay backwards into his chest. She’d scared him today, more than once, and they both knew that. Same way they both knew she hadn’t meant to. But there was something in that fragility that made them cling to each other now, trying to find some sort of meaning in the shitty day they’d endured.
The quietly droning reports on the news flashed in front of them, their bedroom TV volume barely above minimum for the sake of their guest at least, wiring off the incidents of the day and Connor’s transplant surgery like they knew anything about it. Act of forgiveness. What a joke. If only they knew.
But he didn’t have the effort for that rant right now, and as Mia curled slightly into him, carefully lifting her casted wrist as she did, he wondered on the impossible choices he’d been faced with today, the choices they’d both had for that matter. Should he have ever really asked? What was right in such a complicated case like today?
“There’s no right answer, you know?” Mia sleepily murmured, and Connor let out a small chuckle as he realised he must have been airing his thoughts aloud somewhat.
“What d’you mean?”
“Save the kid, and he might learn something.. But he might not too. Don’t save him, let the lady’s organs go elsewhere, maybe someone who might deserve it more, or less, but maybe they don’t arrive in time, it becomes a waste, no? In the end..”
“No right answer.”
“Exactly. And there’ll be plenty more ahead. Make the choices you can live with best, mon amour. But we can’t please everyone.”
The next few days were spent quietly, in comparison to most, with some leave granted by Goodwin so Mia could recover from the frankly dreadful cinema trip.
She had just seen her sister, Evelyn, off, having called a friend to take her back home now that she was out of any danger of complications with her leg and could recover the rest back in Grand Rapids. The pair agreeing that next time, they were avoiding cinemas entirely.
With that seen to, and Connor back at work and probably halfway through his shift by now, Mia began to pour through some of her more valuable psychiatry books, brushing up on the department she’d be moved to for the coming weeks at the very least.
Despite it all, there was no hidden degree of excitement about the prospect of testing herself there. Sure, it wasn’t as.. Fast paced, as the ED, Mia thought, but that wasn’t such a bad thing. After all..

Author Note:
I wanted to quickly apologise for this taking longer than it should have to post, and the shortness compared to other chapters. As mentioned in an earlier post, my original draft disappeared so I’ve tried to rewrite it as best I can but honestly I fell short and couldn’t get back the oomph I’d intended. So sorry guys! Next part will be better 😅
