I'm willing to admit that I had to Google the term for this, so I hope this makes sense.

I believe they're considered crepuscular if anything. During the actual daytime, they're more than likely asleep, but at dawn and dusk they're active and awake. Which is why they're often up at late hours or awake before sunrise, they're just more active during those time.

It depends on the weather too, even though they're turtles and crave the sun they get a little more active when there's an overcast (like a cloudy or rainy day) or when the moon is bright. Another reason they are able to do patrols in crap weather and little sleep.

I get so confused on whether the TMNT actually keep a sleep schedule, or if they just randomly decide to pull all nighters (all dayers if mostly nocturnal) when doing 'missions' or some form of patrol.

Because so many major points in most of the versions are in the dead of night and they get back to the lair at sunrise, then you have times where in the same series, the Turtles are awake in the middle of the day acting like they don't spend lots of nights awake.

This is at least part of why I can easily picture April, and Casey being surprised to find the Turtles sleeping in weird places. Meanwhile Splinter is just used to this, and will just put blankets over his children.

And it's at least part of why the idea that some of the Turtles have insomnia or a caffeine problem is such an easy headcanon to accept.

My version of April is more visibly part kraang so this is helpful!

i personally think 12 april should've had some weird kraang features.

i want tentacles sprouting from her neck or head. i want weird glowing eyes. i want sharp teeth and unhinged smiles and she doesn't quite understand why people have been looking at her weird her whole life.

she's a creepy gal. i want her to be unsettling! fucking Strange!

her dad has long since accepted his life is in shambles and has a weird ass daughter that makes screeching sounds in her sleep.

Draxum kept the two turtles who OBVIOUSLY would grow up BIG and STRONG and WARRIOR READY. Ofc by this i mean Raph and Donnie.

I mean listen they ALL grow up basically w the same personality minus a few hiccups here and there, but it's generally the same characters all around.

Except Donnie, donnie is a lethal little fuck.

but anyway there's so many funny little bits in the au like how Draxum's hatred towards humans rubbed off on Raph and Donnie but not in the way DRAX hates them. Raph and Don just learned as children that humans have a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE disease known as... cooties. and it KILLS sweet little turtle Yōkai.
