Silo (prod. Graham Yost).
Apple’s sci-fi dystopian drama layers an intriguing series of mysteries about what lies beyond humanity’s last living underground colony of survivors after an unknown disaster wipes out the rest of society over a century earlier. Rebecca Ferguson stars as an engineer turned sheriff tasked with uncovering the secrets of the eponymous silo and the supposed toxic and uninhabitable world outside. It’s a slow burn series where it’s not even immediately clear who the protagonist is until a couple episodes in. However, Yost pays off our interest with a focus on the humanity of the characters.

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes dir: Billy Wilder, 1970
I only watched The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes for the first time a few days ago but it lights my brain up in that special way that I know I’ll revisit it a lot. Don’t get me wrong, it’s far from perfect, for one thing Colin Blakely’s Watson is a little too shouty for me, but it’s very worthwhile to check out despite its shortcomings, which I think mostly come from the fact that so much was cut from the intended script.
I absolutely love Robert Stephens as Holmes. His face is so good, he has a way of looking at Watson when he doesn’t know he’s being observed that is very soft. I thought I was hallucinating the beginning of this movie with Holmes telling the ballet dancer he’s gay and in a relationship with Watson. I thought it was going to be played for a joke, and it was a bit, but it didn’t just end there. Holmes and Watson have a conversation about the repercussions in a lengthy scene that turns very serious by the end. I can’t believe this was 1970 and no one has since tried to build on this specific dynamic in a more meaningful way. Someone needs to remake this into a mini-series exactly how Billy Wilder intended it to be, here’s hoping public domain can make it so.
[above: script page from the cut story The Curious Case of the Upside Down Room, where Watson creates a fake case to make Holmes feel better]
Also, the backstory of the making of this film is so out of control: Robert Stephens’s nervous breakdown and suicide attempt during the production, the amount of years Billy Wilder was trying to write it and get it made, the interference of ACD’s son, the Loch Ness monster prop that the crew lost in actual Loch Ness, the immense scope of the episodic story they were going for, the way it got cut down from its original 3 hour 45 minute runtime and how that cut footage was lost forever! (this is crazy! everyone go check your attics and storage lockers right now).
In one of the interviews I found, Robert Stephens says “if something is boring — if it’s three minutes long it’s too long, but if it’s interesting it’s never long enough…you don’t want it to end.” Big same Toby Stephens’ dad, big SAME. I didn’t want it to end. I read the uncut script and I am just floored at what we missed out on. Thankfully some footage and audio remain of some of the cut scenes (but still! check your basements too).
Just fully let it settle into your brain that they filmed all of these stories in the script, and then cut most of it away. Like that is mind-blowing to me, it existed at one point as it was fully intended to be. If this was made now during home entertainment times, they would have no problem releasing an almost four-hour movie, but at the very least there would be a big director’s cut dvd release and we would be enjoying all the small Holmes x Watson moments we deserve.
Anyway, in pretty short order I found a bunch of interesting links to stuff, details below. I also consulted my very well-thumbed Conversations with Wilder book by Cameron Crowe, but there wasn’t that much more information in there. I have Robert Stephens’ memoir Knight Errant and the TPLOSH blu-ray on order so I’ll add to this post if I find any more good resources. Let me know if I’m missing anything, and enjoy!

I found out from the fic you posted that there’s an English remake of het huis anubis!? I had no idea that the Dutch show me and all the other kids in the Netherlands and Belgium watched was so successful that they made other versions of it in other countries
I looked up your version of the show and I saw you only got 191? The original Dutch version has 404 episodes and the spin-off series has another 173 episodes excluding crossovers
We also had 3 movies, 7 books, several music albums, a spin-off series, 3 or 4 theatre shows/musicals, several board games, a nintendo ds game and 1 amusement park ride in the Netherlands and Belgium, did they remake any of those into English too?
Could you please tell me where I can watch the English version? I’m really curious to see how it is compared to the original. I’m honestly really excited about this because the character in your fic Jerome reminds me so much of his Dutch counterpart Jeroen, who I had a massive crush on, so it’s really cool to be able to read a fic about him or a version of him
I think I have a link where you can watch the original show, the movies and the spin-off series for free with English subtitles, if you want to watch more of the show I can send it to you?
AHhhh! Hello! Yes Hi!
I got really excited when I saw this!
But yes house of Anubis is a remake of the Dutch show it was made by Nickelodeon in 2011, the show was... I wanna say medium popular in the UK I know it aired in the US as well but I can't speak for the US.
At least for me this show was a huge part of my childhood It came out in 2011 which fun fact I was 12 then and I was a NERD, for history especially I was a big history nerd and this is basically was tripped me into my second egyptology focus but yeah It came for me at kinda just the right time, in just the right way and I have fond memories of sitting down after school to watch this show.
It got I think 3 seasons and then a movie here, but we got nothing like the massive stuff you listed there we got nothing like that, we barely even got any merch or anything of it, I am very jealous.
The funny thing was I never had a thing for Jerome when I first watched it I remember kinda thinking he was a bit of a dick not revisiting it as an adult its like... bring me my cocky little fluffy chaos boy!
And I've been wanting to do more characters for a while now and I was already doing Lancel stuff lately cause I kinda just stumbled on the memory of him in my mind, and had like a heart attack when I learnt Lancel and Jerome are plaid by the same actor which sent me, of course, running to IMDB to see what else I can watch.
As for watching the English version, I said it is steaming on Paramount Plus, on YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime and Apple TV if that helps. I'm rewatching it with friends and we have the physical media so I'm not sure if there are any downloads or stuff online I'm sure there likely is if you go digging.
Ohh I'd love to see the original show and stuff thank you so much!
And thank you so much for talking with me about it! I was kinda worried no one would have a clue what this was.

ORIGINAL-CIN: Not only did you take on the grueling lead role of Juliette, you also served as Executive Producer on the series. Did you not know the pain and suffering you were going to have to go through taking this on?
REBECCA FERGUSON: I know, and it is never happening again. (Laughs). No, you know what? For the role of an Executive Producer, I literally had to google it whilst I was offered it, because I didn't really understand what it was.Â
Obviously I've been in this world for a long time, but I haven't had to care. I just came on set, did my acting and left for the day.
So when Graham Yost said, we would like to offer this, I remember thinking all I care about is learning the business. So if I would like to produce myself, who better to walk behind then Graham Yost? He’s a phenomenal showrunner and writer.
I also think it was the feeling that if you're going to give your life to something for a bit of time, I'd like to have a bit more control of the narrative, the creative aspect, the cast and all of the departments.
It's hard to trust people, and if I am going to take on such a huge responsibility I need to know that it's going to be great! Now it turns out I can trust Graham with blind eyes. But yeah, it's a learning curve and I really did love every minute of it.
O-C: Setting aside all of the behind-the-scenes work, what you put yourself through on-screen was pretty darned impressive. So much action, the emotions and the trauma of this character. How did you even prepare to play her on that level?
FERGUSON:Â The preparation for that came before I started honing in on the producing aspect. I wanted to be on top of it. I read the script so many times and spent so many weeks in the writers room, getting a feel of how Graham does it.
The fact that when he does other shows, he's writing it every day in a room, then he has to run the show. Then there are people on the ground who help rewrite whilst the actors are actually doing their scenes. I found all of this so fascinating and quite helpful getting me into character.
So for me, I'm preparing everything that I think is needed and we work together. When it comes down to the physical aspect of it, the training, learning the accent, and understanding her, I do all of that months in advance. I put a lot of effort into it.
O-C: I think what blew me away most was the sets. As a viewer we really get that sense of claustrophobia, being in this Silo with no way out. Plus, continuously running up and down those stairs!
FERGUSON: Obviously we don't have as many stairs as you see but trust me, it was exhausting. After one take I was ready for a nap!
O-C: The series really makes you think about never being able to experience sunlight or fresh air. Could you ever imagine living in a world so immersive and so contained?
FERGUSON: No, and that's the fun part of this entire project, visualizing and imagining when it happened.
How did it happen? Why did it happen? We were the children of the children. So you have to imagine that the people we are playing have been in there for their entire lives.  We don't know anything else and that's so interesting.
To back it up and think, “What were the first people like in there?” The fact that they created a working and sustainable life, creating agriculture it's an incredible salute to the human race of recycling and resources and the reuse of things.Â
I think that's what we would do, we have to survive. But there are always rebels, people who question and that’s the basis of the whole series.

Godzilla Minus One: Japan's Darkest Days Unveiled in New Live-Action Film
Godzilla, the iconic giant monster that emerged from the sea in Ishiro Honda's 1954 film, has long been regarded as a representation of Japan's postwar trauma. It's been interpreted as an allegory for the devastating impact of nuclear weapons, particularly following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or even as a symbol of vengeance and destruction tied to the USA.
In the upcoming live-action Japanese Godzilla movie, "Godzilla Minus One," produced by Toho and set to be released in U.S. theaters on December 1, this historical connection between Godzilla and Japan's darkest days takes center stage. The latest trailer for the film makes this link explicit by setting the story in the late 1940s, portraying Godzilla's attacks on a nation already reeling from its defeat in World War II. Toho explained the film's title by stating, "After the war, Japan’s economic state has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state."
The trailer doesn't shy away from depicting the postwar misery, transitioning from scenes of Godzilla-induced destruction to images of nuclear explosions, the aftermath of battles, emotional confrontations, and characters expressing their guilt and fear of the monster.
While "Shin Godzilla" offered a satirical take on Japanese politics and reimagined Godzilla in the context of the 2011 tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster, "Godzilla Minus One" seems focused on returning the monster to its original frame of reference and emphasizing its inherent terror.
Directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, "Godzilla Minus One" marks Toho's 33rd Godzilla film and the first live-action installment since "Shin Godzilla." Toho's agreement with Legendary Pictures, the studio behind the American "Monsterverse" Godzilla films, prevents them from releasing a live-action Godzilla film in the same year as Legendary. Thus, Toho aims to release "Minus One" swiftly in the U.S. in 2023, ahead of Legendary's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," slated for 2024.
For fans seeking even more Godzilla-related content, Apple TV Plus will debut the Monsterverse spinoff series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" in November, promising to expand the Godzilla universe further.

Puck: Apple’s Come-to-Jesus Moment for Movies
Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, the stewards of Apple’s 5-year-old foray into Hollywood, were summoned to Cupertino last month for a curious sit-down. Tim Cook was there, I’m told, as was services V.P. Eddy Cue, the overseer of the content initiative and the Apple TV+ streaming platform. Budgets were on the agenda, of course, as was the breakdown in content spend between series and films. And notably, Cook and Cue are said to have asked some very tough questions about the company’s recent experiment with movie theaters. Apple, in particular, has become a savior of sorts for big-name actors and their agents’ kids’ private school fundraiser auctions. Van Amburg and Erlicht, who previously ran Sony Pictures TV, are still regularly paying their series stars $750,000 or more per episode. You don’t even want to know what Reese and Jen are making for Season 4 of The Morning Show after their recent renegotiation. Ben Stiller is said to have gone tens of millions of dollars overbudget on the still-not-dated Season 2 of Severance. And in film, they’re still champions of the massive buyout, although Apple, like the other streamers, is trying to figure out how to share that risk—and pay less upfront—in new deals. All of that persists despite the monthly evidence that barely anyone is watching Apple TV+, at least not in this country. According to Nielsen, the service still generates less than 0.5 percent of total viewership of connected TVs. That’s far below Peacock and Paramount+, long considered the also-rans of the streaming wars. For Apple, original film and TV has meant very little bang for those very big bucks. I’m pleased to report, however, that Cook and Cue didn’t pull the plug on theaters in that meeting, and Cook was clear in his continued support for Apple TV+ in general—or at least, that’s what Van Amburg and Erlicht have been telling people, both internally and externally. (An Apple rep declined to comment on their behalf.) I’m told the Apple leaders did prod Zack and Jamie to explain how the company can become smarter in its theatrical endeavors—which, at least by traditional metrics, haven’t gone great. Lessons were learned, the duo promised, data was collected, and it’s early—the two career TV guys will figure this theater thing out. The biggie, a $300 million-plus Formula One movie with Joseph Kosinski directing and Brad Pitt starring, still doesn’t have a release date or a distributor attached, even though Apple has begun reaching out to Imax about booking screens. (Sony and Warner Bros. are considered the favorites; reps for both said it wasn’t theirs but that they are still talking and interested.) That F1 package was so big, and everyone involved wanted so much money up front, that no traditional studio could touch it. And now, in an ironic twist, Apple has been calling around asking potential studio distributors when they would release the movie if they were chosen as the distributor. If. At least one declined to offer that free advice, for obvious reasons. What is the strategy? is a phrase you hear a lot when talking about Apple TV+, particularly its movie initiative. If putting films in theaters is merely to boost engagement on the service, it does seem to be working a bit. Killers of the Flower Moon and Argylle have both popped up on the ratings charts of original movies, thanks to all that marketing and press. Do viewers then stick around for other Apple TV+ movies and shows? Less clear. To that end, I’ve heard the basic barometer for success at Apple is that the box office should at least pay for the P&A cost, thus making the theatrical release a cost-neutral marketing effort for the streamer. (Full article)
I'm struggling to identify Apple's goal here. Do they want to have a successful streaming service, become a prestigious film producer or create major IP franchises? It seems like they're trying to achieve all of these things at once, and are failing on all fronts. Imagine wasting such a large amount of money due to a simple lack of focus.

Thank you @lag-train for the tag :) !!!
Favorite Color: Blue and red have been neck and neck for the past decade of my life—currently, red is in the lead, but that could change in an instant.
Currently Watching: I'm on season 2 of The Bear. In theory, I'm also watching My Adventures with Superman, but I've fallen quite behind.
Last Movie/TV Show: Also The Bear! The Christmas episode specifically. Woah. My last movie was Nope, which I can't believe I haven't seen until now.
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Savory, though I've been consuming my bodyweight in Brookside dark chocolate acai candies.
Current Obsession: Decked Out on Hermitcraft and the Secret life series have been consuming my every waking thoughts. Plus my original works, but I don't think that counts.
Last Thing I Googled: "screwball comedy" because my TA mentioned it, and I didn't want to let on that I didn't know what it was.
Tagging @waxflowerwoes @firefly464 @apple-tiredtrainwreck and whoever else wants to join in :)

Top 5 TV series to keep you entertained through this heatwave:
1. The After Party (Apple TV) A modern millennial whodunnit comedy set over the course of one night at a high school reunion and, you guessed it, the after party! The assemble cast is great. I don't typically love a Franco, but you're supposed to think he sucks, so it works. Ilana Glaser is adorable as always and I love this role for her. Ben Schwartz gets a musical episode and overall really shines as more than a John Ralphio 2D type character, even though I also adore when he does that as well! Tiffany Haddish has some incredible lines as the detective and without giving too much away, each character gets a backstory episode and I really love how they do this! Sam Richardson and Zoe Chao are popping up everywhere together (eh hem Senior Year on Netflix!) and I loved seeing their faces together again in this. They are super adorable in this will they, won't they dynamic. Go put it on and you'll definitely want to binge till the end to solve the mystery!
#theafterparty #ilanaglazer #benschwartz #tiffanyhaddish #samrichardson #zoechao
2. High Desert (Apple TV) Patricia Arquette plays Peggy, a Pioneertown actress turn private eye who after the death of her mother played by Bernadette Peters, is making her way in the world in gorgeous vintage westernwear and 70's sunglasses with a wonderful dead-pan sense of humor. I could pretty much watch Patricia Arquette do anything, and this series allows just that! You won't expect where it's going and to me this series is the perfect tone. The other casting is fantastic as well. Matt Dillon plays her ex and Christine Taylor plays her sister! It's wonderfully written, hilarious, and between the desert back drop and vintage prints I was so satisfied with how good and visually appealing this show is! Sad story that is didn't get renewed, but maybe we can start a petition to bring it back because I really want to see how this story evolves. If that doesn't work, I will happily rewatch this season since I found it to be really outstanding!
#highdesert #patriciaarquette #bernadettepeters #mattdillon #christinetaylor
3. Poker Face (Peacock) I know, I know, another mystery show and this time a role Jessica Fletcher would be jealous of? Natasha Lyonne's Poker Face is downright brilliant! She is so fun to watch as she interacts with tons of characters (including Judith Light) on her road trip or escape from which mountain? Not to give any spoilers, we'll just say she's driving a vintage car and each episode is kinda a different storyline. There is some continuity between the episodes but they all kinda stand on their own as well. I really liked this about it. It harkens back to the days of Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and maybe even 21 Jumpstreet! Her character, Charlie Cale's vintage looks are all so sweet and I really appreciated her wardrobe as it pertains to each new storyline. The acting is a real treat and you'll definitely want to pack snacks for this little roadside adventure.
#pokerface #natashalyonne #judithlight #murdershewrote
4. The Horror of Dolores Roach (Amazon Prime) This series has the tiniest bit of a slow start, but the promise of a Cyndi Lauper cameo plus an original song on the soundtrack made me stick with it and I'm so glad I did! This show is super original with has a wonderfully dark sense of humor. Dolores, played by Justina Machado is recently out of prison and uses her "magic hands" as a masseuse to land on her feet. The character Luis, comes us with creative ways to solve their problems and should be creepy from the start but comes across endearing as a real testament to the likability of the actor Alejandro Hernandez. I really loved seeing how this story evolved throughout the season.
#thehorrorofdoloresroach #doloresroach #justinamachado #alejandrohernandez #cyndilauper
5. Survival of the Thickest (Netflix) Michelle Buteau is a mood and her world is where I want to live all summer long! This show is a wonderful watch in every way! Michelle is so funny and the story is poignant while remaining silly and very rewatchable. I'm already starting it for the second time. My favorite episode is the last one, due to the beautiful story arc, so I'm just gonna have to watch them all again to get there! I'm so glad this series came out this summer. It is such a lovely tribute to friendship, working hard, having integrity, and above all fun! We need all the queer joy we can get right now! Thank you Michelle Buteau!

"Back on the Small Screen"
Summary: Mr. McMahon wants Ashley back on TV again for the summer once again while her children are visiting Beverly, David, Ian, Rachael, Jenna, and Victor. She isn't sure whether to go for it even though rude customers have been an issue for her. 21st instalment of Two Brothers, One Friend, Many Stories series. Kayfabe details used only.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the pro wrestling gimmicks/characters used here. I only own my original characters.
Note: I have no idea where the idea of Ashley talking to the ghosts of the kayfabe parents of the Brothers of Destruction in a dream came from.
It was the first of May 1998. Ashley had sent Victor a plush toy of a penguin for a birthday present in the mail as he would be a year old on May 9th and even before that, she was busy in her normal life. In the time since Wrestlemania 14, she and the Undertaker had gone back to talking on the phone twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday nights, her children had done well in school, and life overall had been improving. Therapy for what they had been through in the first three months of this year had helped. The only bad thing was the rude customers whom she had been dealing with over the phone when taking orders for WWF merchandise. It made her wonder if those individuals had forgotten how to be polite or just weren't taught manners at all.
This afternoon though, she had been meeting with Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon and their respective contract lawyers plus the Undertaker to discuss the possibility of her doing something else in the company. Many people had written letters asking if she could come back on TV in some form on a regular basis, even if it was just for the summer; as Mr. McMahon put it, it would be great for business. Perhaps it helped that Ashley had already made arrangements for Lucas, Colin, and Meredith to visit her first cousins and first cousins once removed in St. Louis, Missouri for their entire summer vacation. Maybe it was the fact that she wouldn't have to deal with quite so many rude individuals if she had an onscreen role once more. Either way, the offer was tempting. Fortunately for the single mother, she would be given a week to decide.
At home, Ashley had called her other relatives to ask their opinions as her children completed their chores. Now she was ordering pizza for dinner tonight as she knew she would not be able to concentrate on cooking at all. She wondered what her childhood friend and his little brother were up to.
Not long ago, it had been revealed that Kane's biological father was Paul Bearer. Ashley had been just as shocked as everyone else; Mrs. Calaway hadn't seemed to be the type of person to cheat on their spouse and no one had any reason to believe that Kane wasn't the biological son of Mr. Calaway. Then again, DNA testing had not existed at the time, so even if any cheating accusations had been made, it would have been hard to prove them. That being said, Ashley was more disgusted with Paul Bearer than she had ever been in the past and unsure just how Kane had taken the news off camera.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Ashley got up when the doorbell rang to get the pepperoni and sausage pizza that she had ordered and pay for it. She set it on the table and her children each put a slice on their paper plates before getting themselves glasses of apple juice. Ashley got herself some pizza and juice as well and did her best to focus on the present, hoping she could make the right decision about whether to go back on WWF television or not.
For his part, the Undertaker had been surprised by the fan letters asking about Ashley's potential TV return, whether as a manager once again or in another role. It didn't help that they didn't seem to understand that she was trying to keep herself and her family out of danger by staying off of WWF TV. Not because she didn't trust Paul Bearer to keep his word about not going after her family to punish Kane or the Undertaker, but because there were plenty of other hostile, or at least trouble making, individuals in the World Wrestling Federation: Mankind, Vader, D-Generation X, etc. The self defense training she had gotten in the past could be helpful, but most individuals on the WWF roster weighed a lot more than she did and were taller than her. Ashley wouldn't have much of a chance against any of them if they attacked her, especially if she became a referee.
The Deadman was pondering this as he sat in a hotel room alone, a random old black and white horror film playing on the TV in the background. He knew it was Ashley's choice as to what she would do; she had been cursing several rude customers when complaining about her current position over the phone earlier in the week when talking to him. A different non customer service job, whatever that might be, could be good for her if it wasn't too dangerous. The Undertaker turned off the TV after a few minutes and sighed. It was the only issue she seemed to be having right now, aside from having to count down the days until she had to give a victim impact statement to the two men who had tried to kidnap Colin and Meredith when the trial occurred in December. Speaking of his friend's children, all 3 of them had liked the late/early birthday gifts he had sent to them back in March. Lucas had gotten a video camera with a tripod and several blank VHS tapes to practice cutting promos, Colin had gotten a subscription to WWF Magazine, and Meredith had gotten a regular Polaroid film camera since she now wanted to be an amateur photographer.
The Undertaker had not initially wanted to do so, but he had occasionally talked to Lucas, Colin, and Meredith on the phone after talking to Ashley much like an uncle who loved talking to nephews and nieces. Did he really even want to be like family to them? He wasn't so sure; he had lost his parents, and his little brother was not yet able to reconcile with him due to blaming him for the tragedy. If the McCormick family got hurt because of him or Kane-no, the Undertaker was not going to finish that thought. He just decided to get ready for tonight's house show and focus on that for now. He was unaware of what Ashley would dream of that night or the other nights before she had to make her decision about Mr. McMahon's offer.
On the night of May 3rd, 1998, Ashley had perhaps the strangest dream she could remember having. She was seeing the Undertaker's parents' ghosts in the cemetery where their remains had been laid to rest. She was frightened by them. "Mrs. Calaway, Mr. Calaway?" She asked, trying not to shake too badly.
The couple looked very much as Ashley had remembered them in life: Mr. Calaway looked like a much older version of the Undertaker minus the long hair and was wearing the clothes and boots he usually wore when at work in the embalming room. Mrs. Calaway was wearing a blue dress and nice shoes; she also had hair almost as long as Kane's.
"Ashley, you've grown so much since we last saw you and so have Mark and Kane." Mrs. Calaway commented, smiling at her.
"We've missed all 3 of you so much." Mr. Calaway added.
"They and I have missed you badly too." Ashley sighed sadly. "The whole world found out, thanks to medical technology advancing a lot, that Paul Bearer is Kane's biological father. I couldn't believe it when I heard it."
"I already told Mr. Calaway after Mark had been sent to do his chores after we caught him and Kane playing with matches. He didn't take it well at first, but he did forgive me since I regretted that encounter with Paul. We had planned to tell the boys later that night but then the fire occurred." Mrs. Calaway had clearly not forgiven herself for that instance of cheating as she looked down in shame.
Mr. Calaway put his arm around his wife. He couldn't hold that incident against her; he had only wished that she would have told him sooner. "As far as I'm concerned, Mark and Kane are both of our sons in every way that matters. We taught them what they needed to know, took care of them when they were sick, made sure that their needs were met, and still love them despite what they have done recently. We just hope that they can turn back to the right path eventually, but it is their choice."
"I'd like to tell them that for you the next time I get a chance to speak with them." Ashley said, shedding tears. "They didn't want me involved in their conflicts this time, but I still care about them. Their current boss thinks that I should work on TV again, with Mark or in some other role, but I don't know what choice to make. I was happy being Mark's manager last summer despite the downsides of that job."
"You always were a good friend to Mark and Kane, Ashley." Mrs Calaway assured her. "They were always good friends to you too and I think they would understand as well as you do that a person has to make their own choices in life and live with what happens as a result."
"We hope they and you can continue to remember that no matter what happens next." Mr. Calaway was smiling just as his wife was as a way of reassuring Ashley that things would be fine, even if that wasn't the case right away.
That was the moment that Ashley had woken up from the dream, tears falling as she sat up. She found some tissues and wiped away her tears. Then she seemed to have more of an idea as to what choice she would make regarding Mr. McMahon's offer. The first thing she did was call the Undertaker; when he didn't answer his cell phone right away, Ashley left a voicemail message to tell him about her dream and to tell Kane about it if he got a chance to do so. Then she got ready for work and left before her children got on the school bus after they had Pop Tarts and milk for breakfast. She would give her decision to Mr. McMahon on Wednesday and hope that it was the right one.

Macross Plus Review
slightly re-edited to include both my jaunary review of the original OVA series and the october review of the movie version. didnt want to make two posts
OVA REVIEW:
yeah see now this is how you do it. when you do a love triangle, especially if its two guys an one girl, you should always have one of the guys realize actually he was kind of a weird obsessive creep the whole time and then immediately kill himself like right after he learns this, thus resolving the triangle. well all jokes aside this is legitimately an incredible OVA (i watched the ova, not the movie, it just seemed like what i was suppose to do i guess). you know its good because i can actually remember all of the main character's names. Isamu, Bowman, Myung, Sharon Apple, and Lucy. see i did it (pretending i didn't have to look up Myung's name to make sure i had it right and also knew how to spell it). the concert scene at the beginning of the second episode is just so incredible, the ending is fantastic, pretty much everything is top notch, and hey the message of this one is pretty topical huh! crazy that it came out like 30 years ago or whatever. makes me kind of sad to know one day Miku is going to come out of the tv and demand i shed blood for her but honestly as a pioneer i feel it is only right that i do so
MOVIE REVIEW:
Already reviewed the OVA I just watched this with a friend who had never seen this fuck its still so good it really is peak. I got two words: Macross Plus Must See TV

Research !
In order to properly procede with the project at hand. some research is required in order for me to properly understand and utilise the tools I have at hand, and be able to use them to their fullest capacity.
What is Maya?
From what I can see, and the time I've used it yesterday, Maya is a 3D modelling and animation software that can be used in all types of media, whether that be TV or Video Games to make massive environments or characters of many different art styles.
Here are some of the amazing things that can be achieved with these two short videos below!
youtube
youtube
Here you can clearly see the epic environments and immaculate storytelling that can be captured by utilising this software.
Examples of Maya being used:
Within the video game industry, a lot of very popular games have used Maya in the past, including some that you've definetly heard of. For example, did you know Black Ops 3 was made with Maya? Or the Assassins Creed series? Two great games with amazing story telling made with the help of this very handy piece of software. Additionally, you have such other great games as Ratchet and Clank, and the Uncharted series which are known for being fantastic games to play. Lastly, there is also the Last of Us, which has been remastered about 4 times now, so the less said about that, the better. But, it does have a good story and quite enjoyable gameplay so it is still a notable example to mention nonetheless.
Now onto a slightly different topic.
Health Packs/Healing Items, and their usage in games:
Depending on the game, a healing item can come in quite literally many different forms. Whether that be a potion, an item used to regain health points, or even just a flat out medical kit.
For example, in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, you heal your hp by consuming food items that you either found or cooked yourself.
Here, we can see one player (I don't play Zelda so this is somebody else's image, I apologise) who has grinded out what seems to be a maximum stack of golden apples in which the description shows that the apple will heal your health by 2 whole hearts which seems quite good as, from the little knowledge I have about Zelda, I'm pretty sure your hearts deplete in quarters, so this is basically 8 whole hit points healed at once.
Next you have Fortnite. This game has slowly changed over the years so the way to heal has changed too. Going back to the start of the battle royale mode, before the game really took off, there were only two ways to heal. That being the bandage, and the Medkit. The bandage only heals 15hp per use, to a maximum of 75 out of 100hp. Meanwhile, the medkit is a direct upgrade to the bandage and heals you immediately to a full 100 out of 100hp, with the downside that it takes 10 seconds to use rather than the 3 of the bandage.
(This was the best screenshot I could find, I'm sorry). But now 7 years on, there have been a multitude of new ways to heal in the game. This ranges from consumables on the ground like apples and corn, to harvesting the local wildlife for consumable meat, and even fishing for- well, fish. This shows that Fortnite has grown away from the standard stereotypical healing item to have its own identity.
Lastly. you have Halo. Halo has an interesting history with its healing item as, although it hasn't changed much, the reasoning behind why part of it changed is very funny. Originally, its health packs looked like this.
Pretty standard. Red plus symbol to show that this item is for healing, and it's clearly a case of some sort. But then their health pack changed to this.
The change, besides being higher quality of course as this is from a newer game, is the fact that the red plus has been swapped out for an H. I assume the H is meant to stand for healing, or health, or some such similar term, but why did they change it in the first place? The Geneva Convention. Using a red cross in video games breaks both the Geneva Convention and British law. Why? Because misuse can be considered to be a war crime.
On the Red Cross' website, they say this:
This means that several video games have unironically and unintentionally committed war crimes.
Anyways- I think this research will come in handy for me when it comes to working on the 3D project as I now understand that healing items are able to come in all different shapes and sizes, as well as changing entirely as the game continues. All I need to do is not use a red cross to symbolise the health item, or I have committed a war crime.

Les Séries En Ligne : L'Avènement d'un Nouveau Paradigme de Divertissement
Online Series: The Advent of a New Entertainment Paradigm uel a subi une véritable révolution.
Conclusion

The Full Crunchyroll Breakdown
When it comes to anime streaming services, Crunchyroll stands head and shoulders above the competition, providing avid fans with access to the latest releases and beloved classics. Originally established in 2006 as an illicit anime site, Crunchyroll has since transformed into a dominant force within the genre as a result of a series of strategic deals, partnerships and mergers. Following its official merger with the industry giant Funimation in 2022, the platform has become a global destination, delivering viewers in over 200 countries a remarkable collection of more than 40,000 episodes. With an impressive user base of 100 million registered individuals, Crunchyroll continues to captivate anime enthusiasts worldwide.
Upon my initial use of Crunchyroll, I found the app’s navigation and UI to be exceptionally reliable and smooth. The search engine is intuitive and simple to use, which is essential given the vast array of content available. Plus, the platform operates seamlessly as it barely ever glitches. One of the app’s biggest features is its well-curated content. This is because movies and TV shows are perfectly curated by genre, which makes browsing satisfying and straightforward, while also facilitating the discovery of new shows. Additionally, Crunchyroll offers HD options in 720p and 1080p, with automated streaming at the best quality appropriate for your device. The picture quality is excellent, and the anime looks fantastic even in standard HD.
Crunchyroll stands out as one of the top streaming services, thanks to its 7-day trial option. This allows users to test out the app without any financial commitment. Once the trial period ends, users can make an informed decision about whether or not to continue using Crunchyroll. Additionally, Crunchyroll’s price subscriptions provide more than simply basic streaming services. The fan subscription, which is the cheapest, is priced at $7.99 per month. This plan provides so much like ad-free, unrestricted access to the Crunchyroll collection, new episodes immediately following their Japanese launches, and digital manga. While giving over 1,000 series available, Crunchyroll caters to both seasoned anime enthusiasts and newcomers, making it an excellent choice for any TV watcher. One standout feature of Crunchyroll is its broadcasting of new anime episodes on the same day as their Japanese broadcast, which allows viewers to stay up-to-date without the fear of spoilers.
Crunchyroll, despite its merits, does fall short in terms of providing a complete collection of classic anime that viewers often seek. Popular titles such as Death Note, Sailor Moon and Bleach are notably absent from its library. Just to name a few. Another limitation is that it’s purely an anime streaming platform , so it doesn’t have the diversity of a streaming platform like Netflix, which has regular TV shows, movies and anime.
The experience and the amount of features you get for the price, makes crunchyroll an absolutely bargain. It’s by far and away the best anime streaming service and it’s not even close due to it beating its competitors in pretty much every category. Furthermore, it is one of the best streaming platforms available, competing in every way with the juggernauts like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
Overall, despite being predominantly an anime streaming platform, Crunchyroll stands out as one of the top choices for streaming. This is due to its extensive range of diverse programming, a vast catalogue and a wide range of genres, all delivered at an unbelievably low price. Making it undoubtedly one of the most meticulously crafted platforms available. So, if you are already an anime enthusiast, there is no need for us to convince you further. However, if you have yet to experience the world of anime, we highly recommend giving Crunchyroll a try because it caters to a wide spectrum of interests.
