Cuatro aplicaciones para imitar las mejores funciones de Windows en macOS

En su forma y estado actual, es innegable que Windows 10 y macOS 10.14 Mojave son dos sistemas operativos completamente maduros. Pero no es sólo un asunto de estabilidad, sino de funciones. En ese sentido, con el historial de adición que ambas compañías han hecho desde comienzos de la década pasada, es realmente estar cómodo con lo que trae cada sistema. Sin embargo, cuando se cambia entre uno y otro, rápidamente se echa de menos realizar ciertas acciones como mejor las ha resuelto cada empresa. En algunos casos gana Windows, y en otro macOS.

Hoy vamos a centrarnos en aplicaciones de macOS que imitan funciones de Windows 10 y versiones anteriores incorporadas de forma nativa, y que en casi todos los casos, hacen la experiencia bajo macOS mucho mejor.

HyperDock

HyperDock es una de las primeras aplicaciones que instalo al cambiar de Mac o simplemente instalar de cero una nueva versión del sistema operativo. Lo que logramos es ver y poder maximizar (si se encuentra minimizada) o pasar a primer plano las ventanas abiertas por cada aplicación, simplemente deslizando el cursor por encima del icono de la aplicación deseada en el Dock. Como vemos, una copia de lo que desde Windows 7 se hace en la barra de tareas.

Si el Explorador de Archivos tiene abiertas cuatro carpetas, pasando el cursor se muestran todas las ventanas, y se da la posibilidad de abrirlas o cerrarlas. Con HyperDock ocurre lo mismo. Desde la previsualización pequeña se puede cerrar la ventana, pero también dejando el cursor encima, ver a gran escala mediante superposición sobre el resto, con transparencia. Si no quiere abrirse esa ventana superpuesta, basta con mover el ratón. HyperDock resulta extremadamente útil para ver ventanas de aplicaciones minimizadas en el icono del Dock, opción que muchos usuarios de macOS eligen para no acabar llenando el espacio situado a la izquierda de la Papelera. La utilidad de HyperDock no acaba ahí, pues también tiene funciones dedicadas cuando el cursor pasa sobre el icono de Spotify, Calendario, etc.

HyperDock también cuenta con un sistema de gestión de ventanas similar al de Windows, y aunque funciona decentemente en ese sentido, no es mejor opción que las dedicadas que luego veremos. En la Mac App Store, HyperDock tiene un coste de 10,99 euros, mientras que fuera, el coste es de 6,95 euros.

AppCleaner

En Windows, cuando deseamos desinstalar una aplicación, o bien ejecutamos un desinstalador, o bien vamos al mítico "Agregar o quitar programas". En macOS, la opción sólo existe en el Launchpad con aplicaciones instaladas a través de la App Store, pero el problema es que no se puede asegurar de ninguna forma que las aplicaciones pequeñas se eliminan sin dejar carpetas en directorios del sistema.

La desinstalación común en macOS es muy simple, pero puede dejar restos en el sistema

Con AppCleaner, gratuita, desinstalar de forma limpia una aplicación para que no deje rastro es tan sencillo como arrastrar el ejecutable sobre la ventana. A continuación, la aplicación nos dejar elegir qué datos queremos borrar. Si los archivos de carpetas de sistema, si el .app de la carpeta de Aplicaciones, etc. Son buenas alternativas de pago CleanApp, o CleanMyMac X, aunque esta última cuenta con un una amplitud de opciones mucho mayor, como gestión de almacenamiento o de ítems de arranque.

CopyClip

Recientemente, en la temible actualización Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft incluyó una función que tradicionalmente se ha obtenido con aplicaciones de terceros, el Historial del portapapeles. No es la mejor implementación soñada, pero es mejor que no tener nada en ese sentido, como Mojave. Para solucionarlo, la mejor opción es CopyClip.

Se trata de una aplicación que, integrada con un icono en la barra de menús, permite consultar el historial y con atajos de teclado o manualmente, "pegar" los últimos fragmentos de texto copiado. Es posible configurar el número de fragmentos a recordar. CopyClip es gratuita y puede encontrarse en la Mac App Store.

BetterTouchTool

BetterTouchTool es una de esas aplicaciones que se convierten en imprescindibles cuando después de mucho tiempo configurando la dejas a tu gusto. Con ella, es posible hacer infinidad de cosas, pero sobre todo brilla en lo que se refiere a configurar gestos del trackpad de los MacBook y del Magic Trackpad. Podemos configurar gestos con más dedos, en varias direcciones, con clicks, etc. De igual forma, se pueden añadir atajos de teclado siempre que ya tengan otro atajo asignado.

BetterTouchTool es una auténtica navaja suiza para los amantes de la configuración

Sin embargo, si está aquí es porque con ella imito a la función de Aero Snap, presente en Windows desde Windows 7 y que ahora se llama Acoplar. Con ella, Microsoft permite al usuario gestionar el tamaño de las ventanas cuando se toca de forma prolongada el borde. En macOS, existe la posibilidad de tener dos ventanas en paralelo ocupando la mitad o un tercio de pantalla y dos tercios en otros casos, pero nunca llega a ser tan cómo, porque además es obligatorio que el uso sea a pantalla completa.

Con BetterTouchTool configuro los bordes de la pantalla para redimensionar a mi gusto, pero también añado atajos de teclado para que una ventana determinada se maximice, o se vaya a la mitad izquierda o derecha de la pantalla (cosa que también existe en Windows con "Windows + teclas de dirección"). Con 6,50 euros a través de su página web, se accede a una licencia de actualizaciones de dos años. Después de ese tiempo seguirá funcionando, si el sistema lo permite.

Si lo que se desea de BetterTouchTool es sólo la gestión de ventanas, existen muchas alternativas. Una es de su propio desarollador, BetterSnapTool, pero también son extremadamente recomendables Moom o Divvy
