The object which contains the veil is destroyed by Yuuji, and you can't help but notice how pretty the veil looks beautiful as it dissipates into nothing.

" wait- the anti sorcerer veil is the only one that got lifted, right? But didn't we break three of these? Including the one Ino broke?"

Yuuji realizes. Megumi's eyes are on you. You look distracted. After the veil went down, your eyes returned to the direction where the odd pull of cursed energy is coming from.

" You okay?" 

You snap back to reality, glancing back at Megumi, who looks as unbothered as always.

" Yeah, just- nevermind." 

You sigh, shaking your head. Things were brewing in Shibuya. This could be a trap, no matter how familiar the feeling is. Megumi searches your expression, but he doesn't push it. You'll find out what that call is later. You're needed here now.

" Either they used all three to lower one veil, or the other two were dummies. Either way, sorcerers are free to move now. That leaves the veil trapping Gojo sensei and the veil trapping the civilians. I wanted to interrogate the old man, but it looks like he's out cold."

You glance at the man, who's laid unconscious against a fence. 

" I could heal him partially?"

" That's a waste of effort. There's no guarantee he'll work with us. We should rejoin Ino and-."

" Ino!" 

Like he was summoned, the guy appears to be plummeting from the sky, not to far away from you. Megumi is quick to summon Nue, while Yuuji jumps down, a short cut of some sort. You uncap the water skin with clean water, coming to his aid as Yuuji catches him.

He looks bad. He's all roughed up, bleeding particularly nasty from the top of his head. You don't waste any time. Manipulating the water to surround your hands, you press them to the wound on his forehead. To your worry, he doesn't react to it. Nonetheless, the wound heals, the water on your hands melting into his skin.

" Y/N, your water-" 

" Yeah, I know. It's alright, it does that with heavier injuries." 

You explain, continuing to heal the wounds on him which you can see. The ones that look particular nasty. More and more of your water melts into his skin, but you'll be fine. 

Besides, you can always use your own sweat to work with, no matter how uncomfortable and weird that is.

" Don't heal everyone you see. We need you in battle." 

You shake your head.

" I can't not do that, Megumi. I'm a healer first." 

Megumi sighs at your words. You smile at Him.

" Don't worry. I never run out of water sources.- Anyway, Ino won't be able to fight anymore, he'll have to tap out." 

" I'm gonna go beat them up."

" Itadori, I understand how you feel, but what's our priority right now?" 

Yuuji sighs.

" Gojo sensei." 

" The veil's lifted. Those guys might've escaped already. Let's get Ino out of here."

" Take care of Ino for me." 

Your mouth opens slightly in surprise, your eyes shifting from Ino to Yuuji.

" Where are you going?"

" I'll head to the station." 

In a way, it's the best option. But the idea of operating in Shibuya alone right now?

" All right, but-" 

" If I die, you'll kill me, right?" 

Yuuji's grinning, pointing fingers guns at Megumi. 

Megumi seems surprised, but doesn't verbally react to it for a moment.

" Besides, I have Mechamaru with me. Even though he has been quiet for a while." 

Megumi sighs, getting up. Nue flexes it's wings as Megumi does so, ready to take off with Ino on hs back.

" All right, as long as you understand." 

" I can come with you?" 

" No." 

Both guys are quick to turn down your offer, causing you to raise a questionable brow.

" What's that supposed to mean? " 

" You have to stay alive. You can't die in our universe. " 

" Exactly. And I'm going where it's more dangerous, so you'll be safer with Fushiguro." 

You give both of them an offended look.

" Are you calling me weak?" 

Yuuji blinks, an obvious sign that he absolutely did not mean that. Megumi sighs too.

" Don't be fussy about it, Y/N. You must have people back at home who are worried about you. You can't die here. It's cruel." 

Megumi fixes you with a look, and you pout, before sighing. He's right. Your parents, your friends, they must all be incredibly worried about you. Hell, with how long you've been here, you wouldn't be surprised if they were mourning your death. You want to see them at least once, before you die.

" Fine. But just... be careful." 

Yuuji grins at you, nodding. 

" Don't worry. I'll be there the day we find you a way back home. " 

He's playfully winking at you, and then he's running off.

You and Megumi turn around, making your way towards the edge of the veil trapping civilians. 

Every few seconds, he glances at you. You know him well enough to know that he wants to ask a question.

" Hm?  What is it?" 

For a moment he doesn't say anything, walking on, but eventually, he finally speaks.

" What had you so distracted earlier?" 

You turn to him in surprise.

" Oh. Something is pulling at my cursed energy. I've felt it before, but I just can't remember where." 

He sends you a worried glance.

" Pulling at your cursed energy? " 

" Yeah. Like someone else is using it. Which is weird, because I don't exist in this universe." 

A real pity. He thinks to himself.

" Like a call?" 

" Exactly like that." 

" Do you still feel it?" 

You nod.

" I do." 

" Where is it coming from?" 

You stop walking, glancing in a specific direction.

" It's sort of distant, but my guess it's that it's coming from somewhere on the other side of Shibuya."

Inumaki Toge was annoying, and useless. 

Now of course, Sukuna was well aware that he was simply greater than his senpai, especially in hand to hand combat, considering the Heavenly Pact he's been blessed with at birth. However, he also knows that Toge's cursed technique can simply step on him like a bug. 

By now, Sukuna has realized that there's something wrong. He's definitely not home, and this Inumaki seems to be completely unfamiliar with him. Every move he taught his senpai was not being used currently. Nonetheless, Inumaki is throwing punch after punch, trying to aim on his face. A stupid move. He knew all his schoolmate's fighting styles', and there were only a few who stood a fair chance against him in hand to hand combat. Zen'In Maki, and Itadori Yuuji. Not Inumaki Toge. 

What Sukuna doesn't understand is that Inumaki was not using his cursed technique. If he wished, he could have easily defeated him with a few words. Currently, Sukuna simply dances around him, using the space around him to their advantage. He's sparred with you often enough to know how you move. He knows it well enough to copy in a situation like this. In fact, the only reason he's ever been able to beat you is because he can predict your movements. An opponent who'd stand against you with no knowledge of how you move, would lose in a heartbeat.

Either way, he was starting to grow bored. Smoothly avoiding punches and kicks can only be so much fun. Finally, he throws a punch back. And of course, it hits Inumaki square in the stumic, sending him flying back into the building.

Sukuna blinks in a bored manner at him. Yeah, this guy definitely wasn't familiar with him.

" You've got no idea where the little shit is, do you?" 

Inumaki coughs, holding his stumic as he gets up. he's visibly sweating the situation. Sukuna shakes his head again, glancing at the mess of curses running around behind them.

" We've wasted enough time fighting. Just answer some questions of mine... please." 

Sukuna hates the word please. Inumaki blinks at him, surprised, though his suspicious is confirmed. This must be the Sukuna from your universe indeed.

" Is Y/N here?" 

Inumaki nods. 

A new kind of feeling spreads through Sukuna's body. Hope, longing. He can't wait to see you again.

" Is she alright? Is she here?" 

Inumaki shrugs his shoulders. Sukuna nods, turning to face the curses, who have slowly begun to bother citizens.

" Kay'.-" 

He likes to pretend he doesn't care.

" You do you. I'll handle it here."

And just like that, he goes back to ripping through curses left and right. The display is disgusting, blood splattering everywhere. People around him seem to be uncertain whether to be terrified of him or not. However, he can't find it in himself to care.

As much as he hates it, you'll have to wait. He has to take care of these annoying, ugly creatures first.

Both your and Megumi's eyes simultaneously widen.

" Is that...?"

"A domain." 

Both of you have arrived somewhere, you're not even sure where or why, but you're there, and that's that. 

Allies of you are in there. without a doubt.  But how does one even go in there?  You've haven't reached the level or circumstance to create your own domain just yet, nor do you have the same raw strength Yuuji seems to have.

Both of you are sweating. Hard.

" Y/N. Hold onto my arm." 

Megumi isn't looking at you as he speaks, his gaze focused on the ball in front of you as he approaches.

You send him a furrowed brow. However, noticing he's clapping his hands together, your eyes widen.

" You can do a domain expansion?"

He nods.

You follow his command, your hand holding his arm gently.

" yeah- since the mission under the bridge.- It's not perfect yet."

In any other situation, he might've reveled in the feeling of your hands on him. But you've got business to take care of.

Within seconds, Megumi's domain is up and running, and soon enough, he breaks through the barrier of the other domain.

" Maki!" 

This domain is built up of the ocean. And even though it's made up of cursed energy that's not your own, you can still feel it.

It's is build on the power of the ocean. Of a place where you're at your most powerful.

Meanwhile Maki's eyes widen. 

" Megumi!" 

A little too enthusiast, the two of you had launched yourselves into the domain, sending you jumping quite a height that left you feeling a little bottomless. As someone who's natural element is water, you don't mind bottomless, usually. However, you find that you do mind the bottomless feeling when you're skyhigh, where you can see the floor coming towards you. From the corner of your eye, you can see something red and black manifest. A weapon. You understand the gist, and throw it in Maki's direction.

" Y/N. That octopus thing is the source of this domain." 

You nod at Megumi.

" Don't worry, I've got your back. " 

Meanwhile, the octopus thing turns towards the two of you.

" You dare voluntarily invade my domain? How foolish." 

At once, he sends some kind of huge eels at you. You reach out, your own cursed energy managing to take his own in a chokehold. If it was only you right now, you'd test your limits, and see if you could take control of his domain. However, you're not alone. You have people to watch out for. So instead, you deploy your cursed technique in ways you're well aware of.

Creating the rings of water you're so fond of, you manipulate his cursed energy to your will. the cursed energy in the form of water cuts through both eels, and the two of you safely make it to the ground while Maki whacks her special grade cursed tool across the curse's back.

" What is that?" 

" Cloud jumper." 

You nod at Megumi's words. You've never seen that weapon before, but Maki makes good use of it, whacking him with it once again.

Meanwhile, he also sends two more creatures at you. You furrow your brows, stepping in front of Megumi protectively. Megumi opens his mouth to warn you, call you back. But he's left to watch in amazement as you manipulate the water below to cut into the first creature with ease. You turn your attention to the other one, but Nanami beats you to it, his 7:3 technique hitting yet again.

" What about the other two?" 

Nanami asks, holding a protective stance in front of the two of you.

" Ino's tapped out. Itadori is acting on his own." 

" I'll cover you, please focus on your domain." 

You glance at him.

" Let me handle this. I can use the curse's cursed energy. " 

Nanami's eyes are wide as he looks at you.

Nonetheless, you nod at him with confidence.

Nanami nods. You glance quickly at Megumi, noticing his bleeding nose. Your eyes widen in worry.

" Megumi-" 

" I'm fine. Cover for me.- Nanami, the octopus thinks our domains are pushing for control. But that's not what I'm after. I'm going to create a hole. The one we entered through is already sealed. It's harder from the inside, but I can make it large enough for someone to pass through for a few seconds. The edge of this barrier is right below me. I know because I can feel it. I'm ready anytime. All three of you need to jump in at once."

Nanami throws a serious glance back at the teenager.

" The two of you are not planning on staying behind, are you?" 

" I think I have a chance in taking control of this domain. I'll get Megumi and me out of here." 

Megumi grins.

" We're risking our lives. But we're not planning on throwing it away." 

Soon enough, Nanami is yelling  for the other two to join. 

" Quick, right below Fushiguro's feet." 

You focus on the curse in front of you, creating a huge circle of spinning water around you. If it were to get to close, it would cut right through it.

However, your focus falters as someone enters the domain.

Especially as you see who it is.

hi!! yes ABSOLUTELY i do!!! wild kratts is just that one show that i will remember exists and then hyperfixate on for like, 7 months out of a year. and this happens repeatedly btw. and then my google docs count only increases exponentially and i never get anything done. but oh my GOD would i love to actually achieve finishing something for once.

so one that i think about A LOT, is this silly lil crane wife zach concept that has me laughing every time i remember it exists, thank you @novazentryx for bouncing it back and forth with me it still makes me giggle

OC introductory oneshot

eli is also responsible for this nebulously connected to the WK-verse oneshot ive been struggling with, and he doesnt even know it. basically, he suggested making an oc to play around with, and ive slowly been coming up with one. (she is still Unnamed lol) but she is a bit of a gag character, and not really involved with the Tortuga crew. I just really love an outsider pov, it amuses me, and i think someone tangentially involved makes for a lot of humorous moments. (think the "my cabbages!" guy from A:TLA) but basically she is a former NASCAR racer who got injured, badly, her very first season, and suffered permanent hearing loss in one ear, and partial in the other. she is now a getaway driver, and she is cringe. she's cocky and a schemer, but she's also an absolute fool. it took her a while to get behind the wheel again, and she still struggles. and somehow she chose working as a getaway driver for various WK villains as an optimal career path. everytime she leaves her car unattended, she comes back to it totaled. like Kevin from Ben 10 lmaoo

the Pre A:TLA au

it's canon-compliant and ends tragically ofc bc there was no other way it was going to end.

Like- there are a 100 years of war going on all this time before aang showed up, so I wanna set that BEFORE the avatar was discovered you know? I want to give them their own plot some time in these 100 years. We're like 50 years into the war so aang won't be a thing. Well. he was a thing. But no one knows where he is lol. But that was like it as far as I thought mostly cause mostly it was just the vibes that were coming to mind yk? Smth smth being a kid and growing up believing war is normal and growing up a little more and relaxing it’s not- wanting to FIX things but. God, you’re a kid and your friends are kids and you’re making a difference but you’re up against a whole nation

You can’t save everybody

And like. Idk it’s just the tragedy of having your whole life shaped by this terrible thing. And it really could be your whole life bc you’re not safe! You’re at war! And you’ve decided to go out and fight for the right side, the losing side, and you’ll probably die young anyways

And if not. God it’s gonna be another 50 years till aang is found in the ice berg. But they don’t know that, all they know is the avatar is gone. And hope and optimism slowly takes a backseat bc he’s not here, you gotta save yourselves

aviva and zach will parallel some sort of elementary + middle school friends type of thing where in HS they go to separate schools. both zach and aviva are in fire nation but aviva is from a colony and zach is an actual fire nation kid. both are non benders, or possibly zach is a weak firebender, who uses his flames for like, the forge or smth idk. Maybe he cant bend at all. Its still something I'm figuring out. the two meet as they always do, first rivals then weird friends.

when they're both around 16/17-ish aviva meets some other earth nation ppl and they fill her in on what's going on outside. she decides to leave. Zach obviously calls her a fucking idiot cuz wtf aviva you're gonna die out there. and aviva is like nah man trust me they said they have leads on the Avatar so if we bring him back then it might actually end the war. zach is obviously hella sus about this but he can't convince avuva out of it so he resigns and tells aviva to be careful. The next time they meet it likely wont be as friends

there's more to the au ofc, but i was thinking of maybe doing a series of connected oneshots set in this verse for them and to explore the other characters as well.

the labyrinth au

every fandom i am in will at some point have an labyrinth au lol.

but. zach’s dad as the goblin king, zach as a half mortal half fae? like i know the goblin king himself was a fae that rules over the goblins so, i’m thinking he’s part of the unseelie court? of more malicious fae. so, that, for zach’s dad, and his mother is either a nature spirit, or a fae in another court. and zach is making multiple attempts at getting OUT of his dads labyrinth.

and meanwhile. meanwhile CHRIS is in the labyrinth trying to get to MARTIN who is, idk, for some reason in the center of the labyrinth? so i know the brothers would never wish each other away and that’s for kids anyways. but. i’m thinking. smth is up, a festival of sorts for the spn creatures villain seminars or smth.

and so its either martin who there? for some reason? and chris is trying to get to him, OR its a Wild Kratt Kid, im undecided

Chris is trying to rescue whoever it is, with aviva as a guide bc aviva HAS braved the labrynth before when she was a child

(she was trying to save zach. who she met at science camp. idk i’m still figuring out how the modern aspect is incorporated here? i’m thinking it’s mostly compliant? like the supernatural exist and are known to some but a lot of them are like, hidden in plain sight? not everyone knows)

aviva thought zach was wished away to the labrynth and under threat of being turned to a goblin she wasn’t aware that, yk, the labrynth is his HOME (prison, whatever you wanna call it)

so it’s like—zach trying to get out and his attempts bring him to aviva and chris who are trying to get IN. as a kid and throughout his teen years, zach WAS able to go to the mortal world, hence the science camp, neighbors-ish with the kratts, etc

i’m thinking that, the varmitechs do have a business in the mortal realm too, which is why he lives there, but they also have business in the fae realm? so like, ima have to work that out later

still, i plan on writing this as a one shot, (though its gotten rather long ill be honest) with it going back and forth between zach's many failed runs, (the past) and his current run (which is where he bumps into chris and aviva)

there is also another supernatural creature type au, where zach's father is a vampire and zach thinks he is one too (albeit one allergic to blood) but actually, zach is a nature spirit like his mother, and he doesnt even know it. ohhh the delicious irony of it all. unfortunately i cant find the doc with my notes lol so i didn't get to include that but maybe one day i'll find it!

The Beauty of Rukia & Orihime's friendship and how one removal changed it all (Part 1)

Anyways I'm back on my bullshit and I'm going to try to keep my gushing about Rukia and Orihime's friendship from being RukiHime ship propaganda no promises tho.

But I firmly believe these two have one of the best friendships in a shounen manga. I absolutely hate that the OG anime gutted Orihime's relationship with Ichigo, but in doing so, it also gutted her friendship with Rukia. Even though they met through Ichigo, even with him removed from the situation, their friendship is sincere and genuine.

They've known each other for probably a month? And already have a fast and sincere friendship. Sadly, this depth is missing from the anime because they removed Orihime's scene/line of declaring that Rukia was her friend as well in a moment that established the proper basis of their friendship going forward.

Without that moment, everything else that follows loses the emotional investment behind it because their friendship is no longer between the two of them, but revolves around having Ichigo as a mutual friend.

This is going to become RukiHime ship propaganda I have no idea why I even tried to entertain it not being.

Apparently, I have so much to say on the topic it will be continued in part 2 because I refuse to use fewer manga panels to prove my agenda.

Anyways to get started

Even though there was no real reason for Orihime to remember Rukia's name when she joined Ichigo's class, she still does while Rukia doesn't even know who she is.

Even though Rukia is putting on something of an act or character, Orihime goes along with it despite the fact that the two barely even know each other.

But who knew that a bit of an awkward first meeting would have bloomed into a very wonderful and precious friendship? Sadly, we don't get too many more interactions with them beyond this point up until the point where Rukia is taken back to the Soul Society.

That said - Orihime is among one of the people who actually remember that Rukia was part of their class before everyone else suddenly forgot her.

And it would be safe to assume that the two had actually become decently good friends considering...

When Ichigo is doubting whether or not to save her, one of the things Orihime tells him is that she doesn't want her friend Rukia to die either.

Now, when Renji speaks with Rukia while she's awaiting execution, Rukia mentions having been in the human world for two months.

This establishes that within two months, Orihime was at least comfortable enough with Rukia to call her a friend and be aware that she's in a dangerous situation and needs to be helped.

And this is the pivotal moment IMO for their friendship, without it, every other scene involving them loses so much emotional weight and value because it loses a simple but foundational building block.

Now, to jump back to the cover art of Chapter 58 real quick

Rukia is drawn with the other girls in class but as a blank, missing space. It looks like Tatsuki is interacting with Chizuru, with Michiru behind Orihime and another girl with long hair (likely Ryo, but she never had a huge role - but she's the only character I could find with long hair that is part of the Karakura HS) facing away from the group.

Orihime is the only one who looks to be facing Rukia, which also matches with her also being the one who asks Ichigo what happened to her or why she had disappeared so suddenly with everyone else forgetting her.

All of this to say - despite not having a lot of panels of them interacting, it is safe to say that during Rukia's two months, she got the closest to Orihime.

And it also matches with the idea that Orihime is Rukia's first female friend.

Now, someone else has already done a pretty good write-up but I want to do more too with more focus on some of the manga panels.

The only other female character that Rukia seemed to have a close relationship with was Miyako, but even then Rukia describes Miyako as her idol rather than someone who was a friend.

The only other friends Rukia was shown to have were the street rats in Rukongai and they were all boys. However, after just 10 years the other three had passed away and it was just her and Renji left.

So it's safe to assume that up until she met Kaien, after being separated from Renji she didn't really have friends.

And even then, it's less her becoming friends with Kaien and more like an introvert being adopted by an extrovert. That said, regardless it's safe to assume that they had become close.

Kaien's words to Rukia about being her friend for life so long as she's within the 13th division, also mirror how Orihime was the first to establish a sense of friendship between the two of them - something that is lost without that initial scene.

As I mentioned earlier, it seems like all of Rukia's friendships have been with male characters. After all, it makes sense considering that she "grew up" around boys.

But things like that only make her friendship with Orihime more beautiful because she's the first girl that Rukia has actually let her guard down around. Now that I've laid down some of the basis for Rukia's past friendships, let's circle back a bit

Once again, even though they've only known each other for roughly two months at this point, Orihime Is thinking about how much Rukia is going to love the dress that Uryu made after Rukia's execution had been stopped.

When Ichigo had been avoiding Orihime because she was injured by Yammy, the person who drags him to Orihime is Rukia. Even though Chad had also been injured, IMO the reason she drags him to Orihime - outside of the fact that Kubo wanted a scene of Ichigo promising to get stronger to Orihime - is because out of the Karakura gang, Orihime is the one that she is the closest to.

WIthout Orihime having established that she and Rukia are friends, this moment and the gentle looks that they give one another don't have the same emotional weight to them because such a simple, foundational piece removed the bond that they had with one another.

Like - just look at the look that Rukia gives her and for me, this is where their friendship truly starts to get deeper than just knowing each other because of Ichigo.

And because of how Rukia interacts with Ichigo and Renji, without the establishing moment where Orihime considers Rukia a friend, the way that Rukia is so gentle with Orihime gets lost because it can come off like Rukia simply not being "close enough" or "not good friends enough" with Orihime to be that level of rough as opposed to Orihime being a friend that Rukia simply is gentle and vulnerable with.

Fast forward a little bit and a thing I noticed about Orihime when she's talking to Rangiku

The way that she describes Rukia, despite admitting to being jealous, is similar to the way that Rukia had described Miyako. At this point, Orihime's risked her life trying to save someone she had only really known for a couple of months, yet says not a single bad thing about her even when consumed with her own jealousy and insecurity.

Even though Orihime describes Rukia in a way similar to how Rukia describes Miyako, the reason she breaks down in tears is because she feels jealousy and envy towards someone she considers a friend.

Also, how pained she feels also ties back to how the one time she expressed a negative feeling or emotion towards or about someone (Sora), she ended up losing them permanently. Orihime outright says that Rukia is beautiful, and kind and that she loves her for helping to cheer up Ichigo and beats her own self up for how she feels.

Yet, without the establishment that Orihime and Rukia are friends, this scene comes off as if she's jealous of someone that is more like a total stranger who happens to be closer to Ichigo than she is - even though Rangiku states that both of them are important and valuable to Ichigo.

And after Urahara says that Orihime should call it quits because she can't fight and would only hold the others back, the person that she runs into and confines in is Rukia.

Another thing I want to note is that in all the times we've seen Rukia, she's always been fairly rough when it comes to how she handles people. After all, she's been friends with primary boys her entire life and there's only one time when she's "rough" with Orihime.

And it's when she's trying to help cheer up Orihime. But Orihime doesn't "work" the same way that Renji and Ichigo do where you can hit them like they're broken TVs. In this instance, she tries to do what she normally does with Ichigo and Renji but sees that it doesn't work - and not to mention - she's pissed off on Orihime's behalf that Urahara pretty much dismissed her after Orihime had already - from Rukia's perspective - shown that she was willing to fight and protect her friends no matter what.

After all, Orihime had only known Rukia for a couple of months at best but was still willing to risk her life not just going to help protect Ichigo, but to save Rukia as well.

When she sees that Orihime is genuine in her feelings that she'd rather be sad than a burden, this is when Rukia switches to being more gentle - and Orihime is the only person that Rukia is really this gentle with.

I said it earlier but I'm going to emphasize it again - without the establishing moment that Orihime considers Rukia a friend, the level of vulnerability that Rukia shows when she's with Orihime is lost.

Even though she has a close friendship with Ichigo and Renji, Orihime is the only one that she's been shown to express emotional vulnerability with.

And for me, this scene is so important to the value of their friendship. Sadly, because the anime removed the scene where Orihime calls Rukia her friend as well, the emotional weight behind this scene is a lot less than in the manga even though it was a minor change.

Much like how Kaien established that he and Rukia were friends for as long as she was in the division, Orihime is the one who establishes that she's friends with Rukia. While she doesn't directly say it to Rukia, her actions show that she does genuinely care for Rukia as a friend even outside of Ichigo.

This is also one of the few times we see emotional vulnerability from Rukia as well because it was the only way for the two to properly connect with one another.

In the OG anime, this scene comes off as Rukia simply offering advice to someone who is in need as opposed to her being pissed off that someone like Urahara would dismiss her friend and Rukia expressing an emotional vulnerability to someone she considers a friend.

And they resolve to train together.

While watching them train, Ukitake even mentions that Rukia was never particularly good at making friends and that she rarely opens up.

And he even mentions being glad that she's found herself a friend. It's positioned against Hisagi's doubts of "even if that friend is a human?" is it truly a good thing? Because since Orihime is a normal human girl and Rukia is a soul reaper, they'll live very different lives.

Ukitake could have said this about Ichigo, but there's a reason it's positioned with Orihime - because her kindness and compassion is what allow her to properly reach the hearts of others.

Despite the friendship they have, it implies that Rukia hasn't truly opened her heart to Ichigo the same way that she had to Orihime. Yet without the establishment that the two are friends, the friendship between the two comes off as lessened even as Ukitake comments on it.

Even when Orihime can't immediately follow, both girls are confident that they'll see each other on the other side. After all, Rukia already knew of Orihime's insecurities when it came to being left behind or unable to follow her friends, yet here there's neither insecurity or doubt for either of them.

When it is suspected that Orihime is a traitor, Ichigo is ready to call bullshit and throw hands but has to be stopped by Renji - who suggests that they'll go after her.

Here, it's Rukia who questions Yamamoto's decision to abandon Orihime after Ichigo said that there was no way Orihime would have been killed. I think choosing Rukia to question the decision to abandon Rukia as well as having her be the one to say that she can't obey that order is important. Outside of Ichigo, she's also the only one outside of Ichigo who is close to Orihime.

Even though she apologizes to Ichigo as she's taken away, she is also the only one who knows what it is like to be taken away against your will and to have those around you powerless to save you. She's the one who apologizes to Ichigo because she can't do anything to save their friend.

I fully believe that if Yamamoto hadn't taken precautions, Rukia, Renji, and Ichigo would have said to hell with orders and not just because she's Ichigo's friend and wants to help him, but because she's Orihime's friend as well.

All of those shortly after establishing that Orihime is the first friend Orihime's actually made - or at least made in a while and this is further supported by Rukia's fight with Aaroneiro.

Even as he guilts Rukia using Kaien's body, she resolves that no matter how badly he makes her feel, she won't let him kill her until she knows that Orihime is safe. As she laid impaled by Aaroneiro, she recalls a conversation she had with Kaien.

One of the things the Hueco Mundo arc has revolved around was the idea of "The heart" and what it actually means. I'd have to do a separate post on how Orihime specifically represents that, but I'm going to focus on the "heart" between Rukia and Orihime.

Kaien tells her that "The heart" exists outside of the body and that it's the bond forged between friends. All of this going on affirming that Rukia and Orihime have a "heart" AKA a bond between them.

And simply put - what does all of this mean without the establishing moment that Orihime considers Rukia a friend? It makes the care between the two come off as one-sided on Rukia's part even though in the manga, much like how Kaien did - Orihime is the one who adopted our little introvert Rukia.

Just like how Orihime didn't go to the SS just to protect Ichigo, but to save her friend. Rukia didn't come to Hueco Mundo just to support Ichigo, but because she wanted to save her friend. Yet without such a simple, but pivotal moment, it comes off as if she's not truly there for Orihime.

Black Out characters = Snow white characters

in an older post, i assigned each black out main character to their potential snow white counterpart. i didn't really elaborate on it but got asked to do so- so, here it is:

jeongwoo as snow white: his backstory alone makes him the perfect match as the main character of a fairytale- in many of them the main character loses a parent prior or early on to the story and the surviving parent will become estranged to them and sometimes even die as well, other times some other poignant tragedy happens that sets the story going. in relation to snow white: snow white's parents were rich as they were king and queen, they lived a very happy life in a castle and the queen's hobby was embroidery, early on in the story the queen dies (in the 1812 and 1854 she doesn't die but her personality changes after childbirth). snow white is described as having fair skin, with beautiful eyes, red lips and a kind (but also helpless and naive) personality. she gets lost in the forest, wanders aimlessly and goes through multiple murder attempts. when the 4th one is successful, the dwarfs find her on the ground of their hut and because they didn't want to bury her they put her in a coffin of glass. 

→ JW's father died, his mother barely survived (this could either serve as a metaphor his snow white's father remarrying or serve as a metaphor of the 1812/54 version where her mother suddenly acts different), prior to everything he lived in a beautiful big house, with a beautiful garden, had many friends, was seen as a nice student and loved by his parents. he is soft and caring (to the point it made him seem naive to others) and his looks fit at as well (eyes, hair, lips when stained with blood). he gets lost, wanders around, chases one person, goes through many murder attempts. When he gets poisoned he falls to the ground. he is put to rest on a mattress- the mattress could serve as a metaphor for the glass casket. while DE is clearly supposed to be snow white when she's found in the greenhouse in a bed of roses it doesn't really match the narrative of where snow white is put to rest. as mentioned she lies in a coffin of glass, put to rest where everyone could see her- but there are no windows surrounding the place DE is found at as it is deep underground. whereas JW is surrounded by windows, in a bright room above ground. DE lies buried (what the dwarfs wanted to avoid with the glass coffin), JW is put to show. 

sangcheol as the prince: i think this is very self explanatory but i will try to summarize it anyway even when there isn't much information regarding the prince. 

→ the prince wanders around the forest and stumbled upon snow white, the dwarfs tell him snow white is dead but he still didn't give up on her, waking her up by pure accident by getting rid of the poisoned apple, confesses his love to her and takes her to his castle. SC too appears out of nowhere in JW's life, in a moment both wandered aimlessly and JW feels alienated and dead. they met by pure accident. he continuously takes care of his wounds (representing the prince taking care of snow white's "wound" from the apple) and one day even takes him home. and when is that? exactly, the moment after JW got into the car accident. he was also the one who was by his side after he woke up from in the attic. and he was the reason why JW began to actively question the people around him- freeing him from poison they fed him. 

(SH is self explanatory so i will just skip him)

haseol as the huntsman: we also don't know much about the huntsman, only that he once worked for the evil queen (for the first murder attempt)

→ while HS doesn't try to kill JW she does believe the lies everyone else tells of him and is afraid too (serving as the metaphor of the huntsman accepting the offer to kill because he is mostly likely afraid of her), but she's also one of the first to have doubts- just like the huntsman who, upon seeing snow white, questions the evil queens actions and lets her go. and while the huntsman has a knife he is naturally associated with, HS has her motorbike she's automatically assigned with. 

nakyeom and her CEO as the evil queen and mirror respectively:

→ the queen is controlling, possessive, obsessive, beautiful, vain and wicked. she wants snow white gone. just like NK- she wants full control over JW and while she doesnt want him dead, she wants to possess him so he will only ever look at her, so she will be his center of attention, so no one else will ever look at him. NK throwing her temper tantrums is just like when the evil queen throws her tantrums when snow white is still alive 

→ the mirror gives the queen her well deserved reality checks- and so does NK's CEO on multiple occasions. the most when she tells her that JW doesn't love her and that love can't be won by throwing tantrums.

the friends as the dwarves: i think this, along with the part of the townspeople will be the most difficult to explain as there are layers to it but i will give my very best.

→ there are 7 dwarves. in the original brother grimm version it goes as follows: the 1st one spoke "who has been sitting on my chair?" the 2nd one spoke "who has been eating from my plate?" the 3rd one spoke "who has been eating my bread?" the 4th one spoke "who has been eating my vegetables?" the 5th one spoke "who has been sticking with my fork?" the 6th one spoke "who has been cutting with my knife?" and the 7th one spoke "who has been drinking from my mug?" before they discover snow white in their beds. each dwarf is very clearly associated with one item on and around the dinner table giving them distinct personalities (what they like/cherish) even when we don't know much about them. JW's are 7 and each of them comes from a very different background with very different struggles (BY= domestic abuse; SH and GO= both mentally ill/neurodivergent with a controlling father; DE= living with her grandmother, transfer student; NK= outsider, possessive; BM and MS= poor and very jealous of JW) giving them distinct characteristics and reasons why they do what they do and why they die the way they die. also, BY says something along the lines of "you guys are his underlings" in one scene and BM gets mad. if one knows anything about folklore, this is exactly what dwarfs are seen as. overall they don't have much in common with the dwarfs in snow white that's for sure as the dwarfs in the fairytale are caring but in some tales and parts of the world dwarfs are known for their bad reputation and excessive stealing. it says "many legends show dwarfs as kindly beings, generous to those who pleased them but vengeful when offended. in scandinavia and germany they are depicted as friendly to men, but occasionally they stole corn, teased cattle, and abducted children and young girls." in archaic times they lived in clans under leaders and in the middle ages they had kings. they are also known to take on many different forms (like dragons or otters) and make themselves invisible. DE's and BY's dead bodies disappear like that; GO leaves for the states; SH hides in his greenhouse; BM and MS go to military and take on role polar opposite roles to what they did to BY and NK becomes an actress (taking on different forms) - all of these things fit very well into the abilities of dwarves and could potentially serve as a metaphor.

the townspeople as the 4 murder attempts:

→  the 4 murder attempts in snow white were as followed: 

1st attempt: the huntsman obeyed and took snow white into the woods. he took out his hunting knife and was about to stab it into her innocent heart [...]

2nd attempt: this time, the evil queen approached snow white herself, disguised as a peddler woman, by selling bodice laces to her. "child," said the old woman, "how you look! come, let me lace you up properly." the unsuspecting snow white stood before her and let her do up the new lace, but the old woman pulled so quickly and so hard that snow white could not breathe. when the dwarves returned home they saw she was to tightly laced and cut it in two

3rd attempt: the queen approached her once more, this time in the disguise of an old woman, by selling her a poisoned comb. after they had agreed on the purchase, the old woman said, "now let me comb your hair properly." she had barely stuck the comb into snow white's hair when the poison took effect, and the girl fell down unconscious. later that evening the dwarfs returned home they found the comb stuck in her hair, bringing her back to life once more by pulling it out

4th attempt: the queen went into her most secret room -- no one else was allowed inside -- and she made a poisoned, poisoned apple. this time she disguised herself as a peasant woman, approaching snow white one last time. "are you afraid of poison?" asked the peasant woman. "look, i'll cut the apple in two. you eat the red half, and I shall eat the white half." now the apple had been so artfully made that only the red half was poisoned. snow white longed for the beautiful apple, and when she saw that the peasant woman was eating part of it she could no longer resist, and she stuck her hand out and took the poisoned half. she barely had a bite in her mouth when she fell to the ground dead.

now, why would i assign the people mucheon of being metaphors of those 4 murder attempts? because they are also trials. fairytales are far from reality but they serve as a moral lesson, a life lesson, a warning to people, especially to children and everyone still learning. they challenge us to overthink peoples motivations, help us to see the good and bad in people, see nuances and understand struggle. 

each of those four groups conveyed their anger towards JW with different actions: 

→ the regular townspeople: attacked JW with words. they could serve as a metaphor for the huntsman's knife as he was supposed to stab her heart- and words do stab through the heart just as much as a knife, perhaps even more. the huntsman was unsuccessful at killing her but he did scare her. and every word the people spit at him also never hurt JW physically but they did scare him off. 

→ mucheon garden: threatened and physically hurt JW on numerous occasions. they hunted him down, were in his hair- even when he didn't do much, only tried to live his life as normal as possible. their behavior can easily serve as a metaphor for the poisoned comb the queen sold to snow white. after all it got stuck in her hair, serving as her demise.

→ mucheon police:  didn’t use direct physical violence towards JW but they mentally restrained him, gaslighted him. when ever he would step back into the station he would be thrown back to the times he was arrested- when he saw KHD, he stopped breathing and was reminded of all the abuse he suffered under his hands. he couldn't breath- just like snow white when the queen laced the bodice lace too tight. also: the constant gaslighting JW suffered under the words of HGT worked like poison on his mind- like the apple snow white bit into.

→ the congress: that's the part i'm more unsure about and i can't really find any association to any of the 4 murder attempts on snow white but that doesn't mean this group doesn’t serve as a challenge for JW- they target him just as much as everyone else but it is subtle. also, we can't forget that in any iteration of snow white it's easy to switch, remove or add trials. this one could be a completely new one. 

who could be black out's equivalent be to the forest snow white almost got lost in?

→ i for my part think mucheon town (as a separate entity disconnected from its people) could be the forest. while JW isn't new in town, he was away for 10 years and in those 10 years i bet much changed so him feeling lost fits the snow white narrative

I’m fucking obsessed with mac n ketchup Stan I require all the lore

C/W for multiple triggering themes ie arson, sui ideation and thoughts, family drama, s/h, alcoholism, ableism, all that not so fun stuff

AAAA okay so, basically spoilers, this is loosely based on an RP my fiancé and I have been doing since January of 2023, and this AU was insoired by the ocs we created in that, so in the MNK AU, Kyle had met this woman, Grace, in college and married her despite Sheila not liking her, but Kyle was in a “grr I’m a grown man, Ma, I know what I’m doing” and married her anyways (I know this isn’t stan but it plays into Stan’s character); so Sherri is born, and Kyle, Yknow, works and has his emotional shaky relationship with his mom, and Sherri was actually named after Sharon, who Kyle went to mostly because he was like “oh shit idk how to be a parent what have I done”. Naturally, he turns to his SBF to be the designated baby sitter.

Stan fell in love with Sherri from the moment he first held her, and was a Godfather at first. Now Stan, in this au, thought he was bi for the longest time, but once he hit like 20 he realized that maybe, just maybe, he leaned more toward one field than the other. He’s also demisexual, and agender, but uses he/him to keep things simple, just fyi. He talks to Wendy because, especially after experiencing Sherri for the first year, he wanted a baby of his own, so Wendy was a surrogate mother for his son, Nathan.

Now for more STAN background, in the au, he is on the autism spectrum, like that’s a BIG part of his character in the RP and in this AU, so things weren’t easy for him as a neurodivergent person, so he did struggle a lot in social situations and in school, and there was a time where he and Kyle kinda drifted apart.

The event of Tegridy farm burning down IS canon here, and Stan DOES have PTSD from it, in a unique way. The man is OBSESSED with fire but also is a pyrophobe due to the event. In this AU it was kinda more so an accident, because he STARTED the action as a reaction to his intrusive and depressive thoughts BUT as the flames grew stronger and taller, he heard Shelley calling for help from the barn and instead of like- waiting for help and all that and letting her possibly die, Stan actually runs into the flames and rescues her BUT almost gets trapped himself.

It gets deemed as a wild fire incident (Randy blames Stan but SP P.D. Isn’t the smartest and doesn’t wanna deal with Randy), and Shelley and Stan have matching burn scars on their legs. Stan also suffered a HUGE asthma attack from both the smoke and the weed in the air, enough for him to have nightmares to come where he failed to save Shelley/got trapped in the flames (Sharon’s cries for her babies haunts him).

Anyways, fast forward to about Junior/Senior year of college (Tegridy burning down was Jr. high, Freshman year was Randy and Sharon’s divorce, Randy got custody of the kids bi weekly on the weekends because of course the system failed the kids), Crimson Dawn gets back together, legit, starting off as a cover band, and Stan and Kyle’s friendship is somewhat repaired by this time, Stan is still on and off with Wendy.

So, they graduate HS, go to college, Kyle meets Grace and impulsively gets married just to prove a point to Sheila and Gerald (who OBVIOUSLY favor Ike, not really, but Kyle FEELS like that’s the case), Kyle doesn’t talk to Sheila for a hot minute, Grace gets knocked up, and Kyle’s like “oh shit oh fuck oh shit”, turns to Sharon for help, yada yada.

Now Grace is a very head strong and independent woman, and she values her skillset and career choice (fashion designer) above almost all else and she’s almost never home, Kyle’s stuck with the baby and is stressing with college courses and work and his non existent relationship with his mom.

Stan can pretty much only help with one of those things, so he sets up play dates with Sherri and Nate, and supports his SBF best he can (while also running away from his own emotional problems, because he’s Stan and he’s stubborn)

Skip a few years, and Grace gets knocked up (again), still the same old Grace, so now Kyle’s juggling work, lack of familial relationship, AND two kids, except Godfather Stan is right at his side the whole time.

By the time Sherri is 5-6, Nate is 4-5, and Spencer is about 3, Grace basically chooses to pursue her job in New York over staying with Kyle, and even the kids.

Stan, of course, steps up and continues to raise the kids on the side while Kyle is dealing with this woman that he believed would be compatible with someone like him, Kyle and Grace get divorced (it’s not pretty), and Kyle slowly realizes “oh my god the partner I’m looking for is right next to me”. Because all he wanted was for someone to accept him and his kids, and who’s done that the entire time? Stan.

Now, back to more Stan focused: Stan brings the kids to the studio a lot and plays music for them, but that also means that the kids (Sherri especially) have seen some of Stan’s worse moments. He never really SNAPS per se, but he does have moments where they (she) can tell he’s not really ALL THERE.

Stan always struggled with something, whether it was alcohol, or some form of s/h, ranging from avoiding sleep, to punching walls (or himself), but he never does it in front of the kids; Sherri, unfortunately, is observant as Hell. So is Spencer, both of which are ATTACHED to Stan like duct tape, so they end up telling Kyle “hey, I know you’re going through a thing but maybe you and Daddy/Stada can help each other out (Spencer calls Stan “Stada”), so then it becomes like a counselor/boyfriend relationship from Kyle to Stan, and Stan’s broken mindset finally gets the attention it deserves.

Stan has had a record of “spacing out” when pyrotech goes off on stage, and this is one of the first triggers Kyle makes note off, after a concert that takes place near Stan’s birthday, about a year after they get together, which inspires Kyle and the kids to get him an emotional support dog, a girl Swiss Shepard named Zappy, named a little after Sparky. In the AU, Sparky had a little lightning bolt on his paw pad, and so does Zappy, so it’s believed that Zappy is a reincarnation of Sparky. Stan keeps her close to try and keep himself grounded, especially in crowds. She’s often back stage during concerts just in case.

And that’s all I can think of off the top of my head. That and Stan’s shoulder injury in this AU came from him rescuing Shelley in the barn, one of the pillars fell and slammed into it, hard enough to dislocate it. Also, another fun fact, Stan bleached his hair once in HS, and later, Sherri helps him bleach it a second time.

Stan also helped Kyle reconnect with his parents, AFTER they get married; Sheila got to meet her grandkids, and Kyle and his parents have a decent relationship, at least in good enough terms to talk to each other again.

Kyle took Stan’s last name in their marriage as he wasn’t in good terms with his parents again YET, and Stan ended up adopting Kyle’s kids legally and also changing their last names.

anyways. i was a druggie with no goal in life and living in my own head and now like. i can look at myself in the mirror and not think "hey. this fat ugly piece of shit should genuinely die" and now people in real life LIKE me. I have friends. multiple friend groups, actually. WITH NOT JUST ND PEOPLE. LIKE, A LOT OF THEM ARE NEUROTYPICAL. And i am very open about being autistic with them and i dont have to mask.

Weird that a bunch of people put forth that the narrative is the true villain of HS, and yet the same group advocates for what the narrative does. Like "oh isn't it awful how the story is a meat grinder?" while at the same time going "the cast is bloated with too many characters, we should kill a lot of them". Not to mention, this idea of bloat always happens when the story decides to add more characters itself. Usually at a rate where more characters are added than characters died, such as when the exiles had to die to make room for all of act 6, per Hussie's own words.

And I'm not going to sugarcoat it: thats a skill issue, bruh. Like you could've written other outs for characters, or just not been greedy with adding more to the cast. But nah, you're taking the bitch move and going with the path of least resistance. And mind you, this is just one of several tactics the story employs. We could go down the list of tropes that these fans say are bad but advocate for anyway.

sumoru - depressed (#1) our confessions happen at the end of an episode that is right before a hiatus for the show, just to leave everyone on their toes, and then after satoru dies 99% of the fandom is making sad edits and writing angst and drawing the saddest shit known to man

sugumer - also depressed (#2) only it's more bittersweet like after suguru dies there would be a fanart of us happy together with the caption 'in another life' or something like that. stsg coded except slightly less horrible i suppose

sumrei - the fanbase is half very chill and half very mean to + insulting towards us (/affectionate) and it's full of animations/animatics of us with audios from sitcoms

kirssum - hopeful for us for 90% of the show because in aot canon it's still love at first sight but us actually getting together is a slow burn that lasts until the end of the show vdmvkd and i almost die at some point (it's a fakeout so it seems like i actually did die and then i reappear episodes later) and then the fanbase is happy because me n jean kiss at the end of the show and have our happy ending the end <<333

kirssum - jean, i fear i am not good with confessions in most universes and he liked me for a long time (years) so at our at the end of hs, he confessed to me when we were alone and our dates had either ditched us or just weren't around

saisum - mee :33 it was short n sweet and totally spontaneous. okay imagine at the end of a manga chapter after whatever action/drama happened and we're just chilling on the floor reading manga or playing video games in sai's apartment and we start talking about how everyone (king, bang, genos, f*buki) keep trying to matchmake us. and then in the last panel it's just:

sumhan - hangeeee :333 we hang out a lot, often alone, and over time tension has built between us until one day after me n hange have been out all day, we're outside looking at the sunset and it's quiet and serene and they just drop the confession out of the blue. and i have the most "😀???" look on my face because it caught me totally off guard and hange starts panicking and then i start panicking and trying to tell them it's alright because i feel the same way and we start laughing (levi is staring at us from nearby but he can't hear the conversation, just thinks we're bein goofballs again)

susasu - me <3 because they display the worst homoerotic tendencies ever so i'm like "oh they're together" and our rs changes in a subtle but noticeable way which leads to a conversation (confrontation?) initiated by satoru which kind of forces the confession out and they confess right after

I WROTE THIS IN MY NOTES APP THIS IS SUPER LONG ACTUALLY AND IM SO SORRY TRY TO SKIM IT <- was asked to talk about homestuck and thought was be able to keep it brief. Wasn’t.

Karkat - I was obsessed with him then and I’m obsessed with him now he’s a loud whining piece of shit with a pretty bad attitude. Mainly a character based on him would yell as their normal speaking volume, swear a LOT and also creatively, but is also hiding an insecurity. The thing about him is he has a mutant blood color that would get him killed on his planet- so he can’t let anyone find out, he can’t accidentally bleed or cry (tears are their blood color) in front of anyone. So maybe your character is also hiding something super important? He gets along best with people who don’t really take his bitching to heart since his bitching is his way of showing real concern- he does actually care about his friends no matter how many times he calls them idiots. Also is really interested in romance as a concept and likes romcoms. He uses dual sickles as a weapon- I figure you may want this information since they’re dnd characters.

Dave - Cool kid, sunglasses he never takes off, he raps and makes beats on his turntables. He’s obsessed with irony and sorta doesn’t know how to enjoy anything without being ironic about it? Enjoys frustrating people WITH his irony. I struggle with characterizing him bc I’ve consumed a lot of fanon, but maybe that will make your presentation of him more authentic XD? A safe bet is to make your character kinda deadpan in tone but still be able to crack jokes and act pretty silly. If given the opportunity to be the hero he will not take it, he rejects the idea that he should be anyone important. He fights with swords and has a tendency to break them- but still uses them anyway. He gets the power to time travel later on, and can stop a person in time too, dunno how you’d implement that tho.

Vriska - … very very tough for me to summarize her… but I can say that a character based off her has killed one friend, paralyzed one friend, and blinded one friend, but then feel little to no remorse about any of it because they believe they’re the main character and nothing bad will happen to them since it’s all part of their story (though, she blinded that one person because that person blew up her left arm and left eye BECAUSE vriska killed that one friend). Ahem. Got carried away. Your character just did some pretty bad shit that makes them seem untrustworthy. She’s very lucky tho- it’s part of her powers- so your character should be too. She has a spider motif but it only really manifests in her adoration for spiders and her way of typing, so you may not have to worry about that. She’s popularly called the “huge 8itch” if that helps. She fights by rolling die? And depending on how they land they’ll do more or less damage. I don’t really know the specifics? But her luck powers enable her to roll exactly what she wants every time

Rose - rose is also tough for me… she’s a writer and can use a lot of big words and constructs sorta needlessly complicated sentences but she’s got a lot of wit and loves being sarcastic. She’s.. gothy? Has an interest in the occult and occult myths and she’s also pretty fascinated by wizards but I think tries to be lowkey about it? She’s a very smart and clever person too- so much so that in fanon people tend to forget she’s also kinda silly. Sorry that’s all I can say ^^; she fights using a pair of knitting needles- eventually they can also conduct magic and do damage that way. The power she gets later on is- sorta like knowing the future? She can only know the GOOD outcome but she knows specifics so that she can tell her team how they can end up getting the good outcome- she’s the strategist of the group

John - the leader of the kids! suuuper cheery and has the ability to pretty much make friends with anyone. He ends up being naive tho and may not realize when someone is trying to take control of him. He’s very interested in pranks and overall being a silly goofster ✨ if it ever comes up under no circumstances will he eat baked confections. No cakes especially. He loooves Nicolas cage and ghostbusters and some other older movies I can’t remember- other characters just tend to say he likes bad movies but he adamantly believes they’re very good. So maybe your character can also defend something that may objectively be kinda bad? His iconic weapon class is hammers 💪💪 but he also gets wind powers later- he can summon tornados or even fade into air to travel in the wind and appear somewhere else

It may be helpful to point out for nepeta- she has a best friend who’s very concerned about her well-being, equius. He even so much as controls what she can and can’t do (kinda only about certain things that are super dangerous). I don’t really like him as a character, but your npc might be hesitant to do something before asking their best friend for permission. He’s a stickler and very no-nonsense and will likely deny anything too dangerous? But also he’s incredibly terrifyingly physically strong- so your pcs wouldn’t win a fair fight with him. He also sucks up to any royalty. If any pc is royalty he’ll do anything they say. A trademark of his is that he gets very sweaty very easily and also very much likes horses. Also he likes milk. Idk. Nepeta’s weapons are these retractable claw glove things- and equius WOULD use a bow and arrow but breaks every single bow he picks up because he can’t control his strength. Instead, he fights with his fists 👍

Aradia - she’s dead don’t worry about her, if asked she was into roleplay, archaeology, and adventuring. friends with Terezi, dated sollux, killed by vriska if you need to know

Tavros - he’s the one who’s paralyzed from the waist down, he has no confidence whatsoever, likes the troll equivalent of Pokémon, has a bull motif, has lots of conflicting feelings about vriska (is constantly manipulated by her), and is friends with Gamzee. Attacks with a jousting spear

Sollux - likes coding and computers, has a red and blue and duality motif, speaks with a lisp, also likes bees a lot. Will not eat honey if asked tho, friends with karkat and hates Eridan. Dates Aradia and feferi. Attacks with his very strong telepathic powers, could kill him if he’s over exerted

Karkat - friends with sollux, kanaya, Jade, has a crush on Terezi but is normal about being friends with her, and is sorta chill with Gamzee and Eridan. Dates Dave but really really hated him to begin with so be careful, may say he hates Dave if asked- they date late into homestuck… would say he hates everyone if asked. Except kanaya

Nepeta - BEST friends with equius, kinda friends with Terezi? Roleplayed with her sometimes but terezi’s a little mean about it cant tell

Kanaya - she’s a very reliable friend, but fears she’s too meddlesome. interested in fashion and is also a vampire 👍 very good friends friends with karkat and dates rose (do not separate) Hates Gamzee and Eridan if asked. Attacks with a chainsaw that can also transform into lipstick

Terezi - LAWFUL whatever your character is theyre lawful. Loves dragons and she’s blind but she can smell/taste colors to the point where she can kinda see? She has something very complicated going on with vriska (she’s the one vriska blinded, but still sorta loves her as a friend). Attacks with a blade concealed in her walking stick

Vriska - she lost her left arm and eye but she gets a robot arm. Has something complicated with Tavros (kinda crushes on him kinda hates him) and Terezi, turned down a confession from Eridan (but he asks out everyone so it’s not that big a deal) but they were friends in the past

Equius - ehhhh I don’t like him idk he has a crush on Aradia and it’s weird, big thing about him is he makes robots idk. Brutally protective of nepeta- they’re best friends

Gamzee - stoner who’s (and I mean this literally) religiously devoted to clowns- wears face paint all the time and has clown horns everywhere for him to honk. Friends with tavros and karkat but everyone (but tavros) sorta treats him like a useless stoner when he’s just trying to be friendly (ahem. Until some crazy story stuff goes down but i won’t spoil it in case you read) should not be without his substance for too long or people will die not exaggerating. Attacks with clubs.

Eridan - classist royalty, fish guy pirate, interested in war and strategy, makes fish puns I think. Has a crush on Feferi but they’re supposed to be best friends. Used to be friends with vriska but confessed to her. Hates Sollux bc when Feferi stopped being best friends with Eridan, she went on to date Sollux. He’s rizzless. Completely rizzless. Attacks with a cool harpoon gun. Doesn’t believe in magic if asked.

Feferi - THE empress like she’s as royal as you can get, but she’s in waiting for when the current empress passes. she’s also a fish but she’s not classist- she cares a lot for people and animals and would abolish the ableist classist regime of the planet they live on if she had the power, until then she tends to aquatic animals n stuff (not afraid to kill people if necessary tho, she knows how to survive). Friends with Eridan but only to keep him from killing people, stops being friends him when there are no more people TO kill around. Dates Sollux later. Also makes fish puns. Attacks with a two pronged trident.

I won’t go into the alpha kids or the other set of 12 trolls bc I’m very rough with them and also they’re not as important?

Dave - raised by his older brother who taught him sword fighting but was also super neglectful as a gaurdian and traumatized him with puppets and constant sword training and pranks. All the kids are very good friends with each other so nothing of note there but he goes on to date karkat- if asked tho he canonically was kinda struggling with finding out he was gay, though if your PCs don’t want to deal with that then do what fanon does and ignore that (I also ignore it). He’s also technically siblings with rose but doesn’t share the mom TECHNICALLY. If asked he doesn’t have a mom unless you want me to go into the alpha kids OTL

John - has just a dad who cares about him very much. And if asked regards his late grandmother very fondly. He doesn’t go on to date anyone but he does kinda hate Terezi? Troll romance is complicated I shouldn’t explain it. He’s technically siblings..? With Jade? But they don’t share the grandparents or the dad.

Rose - dates kanaya I’m serious do not separate them. She has a mom who’s an alcoholic but has a pretty humorous oneupmanship going on between them. She’s technically siblings with Dave but doesn’t share the brother

Jade - ok. So. She was raised by an omnipotent dog. Her grandpa died when she was very young and her dog (bec) took care of her. She’s very cheery - even cheerier and sweeter than John but she will not take any shit she’s not naive like him. She’s interested in science and robots and botany she’s very good at growing plants but she lived all alone on an island for most of her life. She always had visions of the future growing up but was never creeped out by them, always staying optimistic. Her main weapon is a rifle- not sure how that translates in dnd? She later gets the power to manipulate space itself- make things massive or very tiny, she gets telepathy and can move objects around at near the speed of light, and can teleport. She also becomes part dog later. I’d say she’s lawful good? Probably easy bet. She’s friends with karkat, kinda friends with Feferi, in one universe she dated an alternate version of Dave- not the Dave your PCs would meet, so if asked I dont think she exactly had a crush on him- I believe they both said their feelings are complicated. Technically siblings with John but like I said don’t share the parents

Hmm probably the way the stories are told in saw lol past the 3rd one its sucks we spend so much time still in flashbacks it takes away alot from characters that are going through the movie now like hoffman suffers greatly from it. Even now we get finally a new story in thw saw universe with spiral and they go right back to heres john and aNother thing he did in the past we decided :P. Id rather explore spiral more or similar to it a rise in new jigsaws but each one being that meme thats like wow everyone else is insane good thing im the sane one and they are all thinking it each having new rules or beliefs and how that conflicts with the other jigsaws maybe or just bring back zeke and william please liongate im begging let saw 11 be something still attached to johns name only by association and not anotherr flashback movie to bloat the timeline I wanna see some of these charaters actually like be developed into more then barely 2d characters they did so well with amanda in the first 3 now do it again with others

2. LOgan theres not many reasons either mostly hes boring and barely a character like hes a solider???? and???? nothing another boring fuckin guy who thinks hs the beST and did not deserve jigsaws mercy over others he so easily let die really id love see him die just as boring as he lived

3. Amanda but really only cause she killed my boy adam and also cheated his game and kerrys but its not as much as the other 2 more like annoyance she can do a little cheat im just not happy with it. My feels towards her are like shes one of the only well written characters in this franchise but also my pathetic boy :(( so i guess its more love her character dislike her actions

cactus- currently i'm learning about what would make a good gaming laptop, if that counts. i actually was trying to get into python coding a few months ago, but that's postponed until i get motivation to go back.

bamboo- usually when i get home i change into loungewear: a t-shirt and a pair of athletic shorts.

abelia- i don't take to wearing jewelry unless you count my earrings, which i think came from Claires actually??? anyways, i don't really take them off because i never really felt like it.

daffodil- i got one older sister. it would take too long to list how many differences i have from them, so i'll note one similarity: we both wear glasses.

mahonia- strangely enough, impending exam deadlines. turns out trying to study for a big test is great motivation for writing creative pieces. yes i know this is procrastination.

chia- i've got quite a few inside jokes with my splatoon buddies that barely make sense in context, but here's one with a separate online friend of mine: whenever we say our goodbyes we end out messages with an emoji rat. one time i even stopped myself from going to bed because i forgot to give her my goodbye rat.

sage- probably music is the most touching. i was in band from middle school to second year of high school, including marching band in hs, so that might be why i have a greater appreciation for music in comparison to other arts.

edelweiss- ok so back when lostbelt 6 released in japan, they used fairy knight for the fae servants before their true names were revealed. having 'afklancelot' can mean three things: either "a fairy knight lancelot", "away fron keyboard lancelot", or "a fucking knight lancelot." prolly the most creative effort i had in coming up with a url. as for why lancelot, well she's my favorite out of the cast in lb6, and her scribbly face is so goofy so

camellia- i was apparently really antisocial when i was young, even as a baby. my mom once told me that i was fairly content to be by myself on the mattress and would actually start crying if i were picked up. i'm still pretty antisocial irl, but online i can actually be pretty bold in saying what i feel like, rarely with filter.

jasmine- i really liked The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell, it was one of the few horror books that really captured my focus. will not be rereading though because 1) i don't have the physical copy and i have a habit of not rereading ebooks after the first full read and 2) the ending was fitting but made me a bit depressed, i felt really bad for the main character and her helplessness.

ivy- usually when someone talks to me and i answer in short terse answers it means i want to stop talking to them (tho sometimes it's because i don't have much to say). when i answer with stumbled words and a fast way of speaking, it's usually because im trying really hard to piece together what i want to say. same goes for messaging online: i tend to reply quickly to online conversations without much thinking since im excited to be included in discussions. usually when im feeling angry, annoyed, or upset, i tend to sigh dramatically.

chamomile- stuffed animals. preferably those with rounded body types, as they usually feel floofy and are comfy to lie down on/hug.

aloe vera- it's tied between 'flipping an egg on a frying pan' and 'climbing a tree'. idk this is a hard one.

palm tree- lutherrrrr from The Familiar :3 he's such an asshole who does asshole things throughout the story but he's so entertaining with surprising depth if you pay attention. one of the few characters where i'm torn between "i want to see him get a redemption arc and live on to change for the better" and "i want to see this man actively get worse and die from his hubris". so yeah.

nutmeg- aside from my bed, which has fish-themed bedding and has a lot of stuffed animals piled on top, my room's actually pretty neat from most clutter. i usually hang out in a separate room, which is neat in most places, but the only way i can describe the couch i mostly reside on is "messy as fuck".

papyrus- ive recently been listening to a few lord huron songs lately. in particular, Vide Noir and Long Lost ive been listening to on repeat, the former moreso.

taro- well, it depends on the person. if they're not into video games at much/at all, i usually just say general stuff on how i'm doing, maybe talk about books if they're also interested in reading. if they ARE into video games, i may tell them about the various games ive been playing, maybe including the antics ive been gettin into.
