Surely this was unorthodox. But wasn't all great art? Most of the misty mountain craft booths were selling things like blankets, artisan candles, and cozy cuddly Christmas gifts. Bobby was selling some traditional art pieces. Uncle Rich convinced him to give it a try...after chastising Bobby Hugh for his art's "homoerotic charm". Bobby Hugh didn't get the critique. He liked drawing superheroes and movie stars. But his vision of characters like Superman or actors like Marlon Brando always included Dorito proportions, billowy man-bosoms, and clef chins. Some pieces were water color...but most were BW pieces done with inks. All were framed in what looked to be wood. He tapped his tips appreciated bowl absent-mindedly. It was empty of course...he hadn't sold a single piece.

So instead he opted to people watch. Well...he opted to Buck watch. The town handy helper seemed enthralled in a conversation with the booth across from his own. Buck watching evolved into Buck sketching and Buck sketching evolved into a total dissociation from the task at hand. Bobby Hugh was sculpting Buck's thigh when he realized his muse went from being ten feet away to right in front of his booth. He slammed his sketchbook closed with a jolt, flinging it behind him fervidly.

"Buck!" He exclaimed, before clearing his throat and attempting to sound more gentlemanly. "Uh'mean...Buck! Good to see a friendly face in times like these." He adjusted. "Find anything good? Getting some Christmas shoppin' in?" He inquired, hoping and praying his redirection was enough for Buck to dismiss anything he may have saw before Bobby Hugh could notice.

But listen to me, and I will not back away from this opinion,

If someone were to "seduce" Laerryn into even more hubristic behavior, that person would be Ludinus bc despite his social standing or importance, if he ever reached her, he would've said all the right things to feed her ego and her ambition.

She has Patia and Nydas, but they're no stand-in for what Evandrin was and there'll always be a gap in this area of support, of just as enthusiastic ambition and excitement. And Ludinus would maybe try to give her just that.

But just for a while.

I do agree there would be a point, she would've noticed that "Oh, this guy has issues. No, I don't want to break the order like that. I have people that love me and I love them too much for that. I've found religionless devotion in ways this man could never." bc Ludinus, at the end of the day, feels like a man that's been lonely and selfish all his life and Laerryn isn't like him.

Laerryn knows love and, in the end, that made all the difference.

I never know what to pick between the & and the / option on ao3 when writing Maymie fic, I won't lie.

cuz like 90% of the stuff I write for them I platonic , and like 8% is smuty concepts I haven't finished or posted.

fundamentally their relationship is more that of a QPR, but at the same time I feel if it was entierly non relationship fic with the manager that was searched for with the 'OC &' tag, it wouldnt entierly fit 🤔

bless you for this post tbh. because you’re right! it’s one thing to have fun and clown and keep it lighthearted, it’s another thing to take something a certain way and start speaking for someone else.

Yesterday was full of jokes and just normal cockles dumpster posting but today I woke up to stuff that were kind of uncomfortable to read ngl. It’s all fun and games and clownery but in the end of the day there’s still a certain line that we don’t really cross. And saying that someone came out (when they didn’t) also lowkey saying they came out as poly and I don’t know what else about it, can do so much damage and you’d think that after last year nj con this fandom would know not to do that.
