Altrverse ramblings because I’ve got ego brainrot something fierce (Altrverse spoilers below cut)

I know there’s been a lot of lore changes since the 2016/2017 era egos so not sure if this will even be relevant but tbh just wanna get my thoughts down

I know it’s been pointed out before but I keep thinking about the “oh shit” knowing look the twins give each other when the man all in black is mentioned.

It makes me wonder if the whole “Anti gets more powerful the more people talk about him/say his name” thing from the early ego stuff is still canon and is the whole reason the twins decide to erase everyone’s memory and cover up the murder. Like if they have even a small inkling of how Anti operates maybe this is their attempt to kill the potential of people talking about him and making him more powerful. And is Marvin remembering what happened and investigating going to wind up just feeding into Anti’s power and making things worse??

I had kind of wondered back when I first watched Anomaly Found if that’s the reason Anti was called ALTR 114209 by IRIS, as a way of getting around saying his name. But then again we know other ALTRs go by numbers so maybe that’s not the case at all.

Tbh it’s also entirely possible that bit of Anti lore has been dropped entirely with new Red Anti™️ and is no longer relevant, but just something I’ve been thinking about.

For years,

and I mean actual years, across multiple different appearances,

Antisepticeye has broken the fourth wall on us. Claiming that he's shattered the veil between his own world and ours, claiming that he's bridged the gap between fiction and reality.

Up until recently? It's always been him coming through to our side of things.

But in this moment, at the end of the IRIS video?…

… he pulled us through to HIS side. Quite literally, straight through the camera from which we were watching.

There's a strange and exciting turn of the tables in this situation, especially with the whole IRIS setting wanting to test the limits of the possible. Lots to be explored in this universe, and we've just scratched the surface.

Hey, just had a thought. What if, at some point, we get a crash course through the ego-veres. And we see, like other ego characters that are not considered, "canon". Just like, Marvin drags Chase through the portal, and they see glimpses into other worlds. We see Robbie, S3AN, hell, maybe we even see Jack. But, we only focus on the six because those are the ones Anti is after right now. I think that would be fricking awesome!

MY IDEAS REGARDING ANTISEPTICEYE!!

Okay straight off the bat- I think Anti has never been human, I think whatever Anti is predates any human currently alive and possibly any human being that existed before then too. Whatever Anti is, it has existed for far longer than any human being could ever feasibly comprehend. But

I don't think they're a "God" or a "Demon" either. I think any terms humans have come up with in the past would only diminish the true scale of whatever Anti truly is. And to truly appreciate what Anti is, is to accept that you'll never fully understand. Whatever goal he might have is quite frankly incomprehensible to humans- it's like an Ant trying to figure out why a human would be mowing a lawn or what a lawnmower even is. All the Ant sees is the violent, gigantic machine beyond anything it's ever seen, tearing apart its home and its colony.

I feel like that's the point of Anti, we all love to theorize and draw meaning to things all the time, because it's human nature to want to know- I think Anti going against that very instinct is what makes him so terrifying. Anti needs us to pay attention, to keep feeding into him to continue to watch to see what he does next- it's like he's trying to get us to find a solution to the problem, knowing that we'll never find it because there never was one to begin with.

I feel as though Anti sticks in like an embedded thorn. One that's dug in so deep under the skin that the top layer has healed over- but the thorn is still there, maddeningly scratching away at your insides as you desperately try to figure out what's wrong. Figuring out the solution to your problem is to tear it out of you.

That's how I imagine Anti is to Chase. A thorn deep inside a long healed wound, only there to twist and pry into him, a sick reminder of the wound long after it's healed.

In my mind- the only real way to stop Antisepticeye realistically within The IRIS Project, is to accept that you never will.

So it's been a while since I posted, it's currently 2 am in my area and I'm running on 4 hours of sleep. But that's not the point because WHAT THE FUCK WAS ON TOTM TWITTER?! I can get behind on the ALTRVERSE teaser on Jack's twitter but TOTM?! What the heck was that foreshadowing?! Is it Anti? Is it a new coffee? The translated version of the code were "He's been different" and "I'm coming". Am I overreacting? Should I sleep?!?!

Who sent these messages?

So I was just looking back on the stream... well the latter half of it. Since I'm talking about the section of time (ha) of where this appears:

Mostly due to the importance of why it's there. This was Sean's failsafe loop to play in case the stream went tits up for some reason or another. But not only was it a failsafe for that situation but it served for another purpose that didn't get to be played out as planned since Sean decided to play then entire thing in one day.

As we all know, the IRIS Project was originally going to play out over the course of about a week, 5 days, if I recall correctly. Each day the stream would appear at some time, have us all play a mini-game to earn a Chase clip. (No joke the minigames were fun. Challenging since we're talking about thousands of people entering commands all at once but still fun IMO) But then IRIS's systems will be alerted to our meddling and kicks us back out as IRIS does a maintenance on their servers in attempt to keep us out. And we're 'locked out' for the day and have to wait the next day to try hacking again. Thus the above image appears. BUT there is something else within that little Server Maintenance Required loop that I just noticed a couple of days ago, that I did share on the official JSE discord. I'm sure others caught onto it waaaay before I have but I haven't seen it be discussed so I'll share it.

In that loop, four words appear.

I can imagine that these words only are suppose to show up during the four days we get locked out of the camera systems before the final day in which Anti breaks into the facility in order to apprehend Chase for himself.

So my question is...

Who the hell sent those?

Like someone on the inside of IRIS, giving us a warning before locking us out for the day then reopen it for us to pop back in to hack? Like, I dunno? Arin? Henrik?

Or could it be out mystery team that had broken into the facility ahead of Anti? Perhaps Echo?

Not sure... but notice how the words get a bit more frantic as it goes. 'Patience' is very clear and easy to read and smaller. But the words 'Wait', 'Don't Look' and 'Hide' get more fuzzy, somewhat harder to read and larger, as if someone is panicking and yelling at us to stop what we're doing.

Granted, we don't listen, too curious and stubborn to see what happens to Chase next. And determined to free him somehow. (Honestly, not sure how big of a part we play in the story, if at all, in the way it affects the story. Or we're in another POV of another character trying to help Chase and the others are yelling at them to stop because they just allowed Anti pass through the defenses? Or it's just meta fun for lulz?) I'm not sure myself, but either case, someone on the other side of the line was panicking for good reason. Anti did tear through the IRIS facility with terrifying speed. (Which brings me to go off topic for a moment. I think the reason why there's no huge pool of blood for Anti to step in and leave footprints as he approaches Chase in that hallway; is because I believe Anti was alternating between walking and floating through the facility and killing people. And the last room he killed in, probably had a pool of blood to step in and he just decided to float in Chase's direction to intimidate and showcase his power to him; before setting himself down to walk closer to him in the end.

-snerk- Now imagine finding several spots of the facility with bloody footprints. Kinda funny, but also clever if he wants to confuse anyone from IRIS following him or investigating what happened of where he was going in the building. If he cared about hiding that at all.)

Anyway, back on topic, the question still stands. Who left those messages in the server maintenance clip? I'm curious to hear your thoughts! Who do you think did that? And were those messages meant for us, the viewers? The 'character' (if there is one)? Or... perhaps meant for Chase?

Perhaps the messages were for Chase...

After all, Anti is the one seeking him out... Chase the one losing his patience... and the one who shouldn't look and must hide from Anti...

EDIT:

I also figured something about the words too. 'Patience' is the only word written in black, while the other words are in white or a mix of both but static. Maybe 'Patience' is more of something of Anti being the one to say it to us viewers to be patient for his arrival or someone telling Anti to be patient so that things will be easier for him.

Either way, its fun! :D

Sean has hinted that we don't know all the egos yet and it makes me think about how the glitching in JJJJ looks nothing like Anti at all, and well maybe it was never Anti possessing Jameson in the first place, and maybe he's not being possessed at all. The style of glitch looks moreso similar to the glitches in the film when Echo was speaking to Chase, and that's just based off who we know of so far. The pure grey glitch with Silent Night playing too; it looks like no one we know of but it seems to imply JJ can cause glitches all on his own. Eight, not six, we have eight. And we have no idea who is hurting who and who's tangled with what beasts. I can't wait to unravel all of this yarnball.

If I had a nickel for every media I've seen where the protagonist meets the antagonist at the end of a hallway I'd have two nickels, which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice.

So I have been pretty out of the loop when it comes to the Ego comings and goings. Last thing I saw was the Chase Video (and I swear it was not three years ago. It literally can’t be).

late night thought/ramble: in the past, we've always seen anti reaching out to us, and anomaly found was the first time that he successfully reached us.

what if it's because all those times before we were just watching behind a normal lens, but this time was different because this time we were watching through the wtchr cameras? cameras that are known to have antimatter in it? antimatter that not only probably helped anti in becoming more corporeal/powerful, but couldve also provided that connection/bridge across the multiverse he needed to finally connect him with us?

maybe that's also how we were able to hack into iris. because we were also watching thru the wtchr cams during the livestream too.

maybe anti not only was establishing the connection to the iris mainframe:

sounds a lot like what we ended up doing. we literally were the second computer, which is kinda ironic in a way aha. anti sent the request to us to hack into iris, we processed the response and boy did we respond back to his request effectively...

Possible theory...

So, this came into my head and tell me what you think, and you can put your thoughts in the comments below, since the Help Wanted 2 trailer had the elevator from Sister Location and maybe the game might have some Sister Location...need to keep an eye out for a certain ALTR that might appear, just like his first appearance in Sister Location. But it's just a theory...

CASE FILE: ALTR 13519191

ALTR Number: 13519191

Name: Messa

Age: 26

Height: 5'1"

Description: Female anatomy with short brown hair, green eyes and a petite build. When using abilities, her eyes glow a neon green and bleed. May also bleed from the nose or mouth depending on how prevalent ALTR 114209's control is.

Abilities: Empathic and psychotic - may be dark empath; psychic, instills paranoia in those who come in contact, masochistic & gets off on pain, very promiscuous in nature, enhanced hearing, has voices in her head and uses those voices against others.

Containment Procedures/Notes: ALTR 13519191 is deemed unsafe in the eyes of I.R.I.S personnel and under constant watch. Although, there are times where she is safe around others - but that's a rare occurrence.

Methods of control used on subject are binding by straight jacket, and even sexual torture (for scientific purposes - we do not find pleasure in controlling ALTR 13519191 in this manner, but know she finds pleasure in it and we do not grant her any form of sexual release). When she has endured enough, subject will pass out from too much stimulation and remain in containment until she wakes. It is up to I.R.I.S. personnel to say if she is safe after said torture.

If she is a good subject, we give her a plush bunny she calls "Trauma," (noted below) the same bunny that was on her person when we found her. If any staff experience ALTR 13519191 during a psychotic break, holding Trauma usually calms her.

ALTR 13519191 is, for the most part, docile toward staff that reveal who they truly are and/or haven't experimented on her & don't know what she's like behind closed doors. The same goes for when she meets other subjects in the facility - It's as if a switch goes off in her head to play a shy character in order to get what she wants.

Shows aggressive and manic behavior when manipulated in any form, as the subject can read you like a book and use your fears against you. ALTR 13519191 has exceptional knowledge of ALTR 114209 and has seen him many times. It's also important to note that the subject was a target of 114209 - that is, until her mind caved under his control. It's difficult to say how long ALTR 114209's power had been weakening her resolve before her mind was completely corrupted. Subject shows signs of mental instability and paranoia, as well as strengthening of her abilities when under ALTR 114209's possession in containment.

Other notes of importance: A drawing tablet was taken from her home, as it's believed to be the main cause of 114209's control. It's in a separate wing away from her and turned off at all times, unless under dissection by staff to figure out the root cause as to how it became an I.O.I. (item of interest) and how it affected the subject. No worthy findings to note about the tablet itself, other than drawings of ALTR 114209. Also found self portraits of ALTR 13519191 that may be worthy to note and used to question subject at a later time.

Dr. Henrik von Schneeplestein CANNOT be around 13519191 for his own safety.

It is believed that 13519191 and ALTR 114209 have been/are romantically involved, although I.R.I.S staff aren't certain. We watch what ALTR 13519191 says closely, and subject has mentioned her love for 114209 on several occasions as well as other lewd details. Subject has said, "You may not see it, but Anti and I see each other all the time," finishing her statement with a psychotic laugh.

13519191 may experience hallucinations, either visual or auditory.
