I got to THAT episode of mlp and I'm a bit of a hater LMFAO

I like discord and I love fluttershy but they have strong toxic relationship vibes and not in the cool toxic yuri way, more like the "I can fix him!" Kind of way

is it just me or do the people who created mlp have really bad taste in ships? Like equestria girls gave us so many good ships.. and then mlp got fluttercord (creepy), maudbriar (boring), and a few others I can't think of. It just felt like mlp kept setting up good ships with fluttershy and tree hugger, maud and starlight, only to drop them for weird reasons

I think you may be looking at it the wrong way-- A lot of the best ships are one that canon barely even touched. The only relationship that is actually canon that I can think of that ISNT boring is applejack's parents, and they're DEAD! Like, even when there IS relationships, they outright avoid spending time with them. The best example is Cadance and Shining Armor-- literally both characters get introduced in their WEDDING EPISODE. And only one or two episodes that dont focus on their relationship later, shining already put a baby in her. Like-- That's ANTI relationship writing. That objectively against what writing good romance is lmao! Oh and I definitely agree that Equestria girls provides better canon content to latch onto and spring off of, but even EQG, who is the goat, has its problems on that front, the biggest of them being Flash and Timber, two bland male characters that exist solely for a character to make a googoo eyes at incredibly briefly Flash himself has potential not as a boyfriend, but as a himbo ex boyfriend friend to Sunset-- He has zero ZERO developed chemistry with the Princess and boy it almost offends me that they even try. Twilight out here gaining the throne while maidenless Timber is... Well lets just say theres a reason why so many fic writers write him to be incredibly creepy and/or a bad boyfriend. Its just such a weird choice to have innocent, bright eyed and very vulnerable scitwi to fall for a camp councellor-- Specially when Sunset Shimmer is literally helping her endure nightmares, because she's just that good of a friend and believes in her goodness so much (NO HOMO) either way, final thoughts-- it's hard to accept it, but its painfully true that there just isn't much canon lgbt on mlp gen 4, specially with the characters we know and love. But hey. Thats what fan content is for! I will keep creating!

Some characters will be queer or LGBTQ+ but no references will be made to their sexuality. Only romance.

The last bullet point goes for the straight relationships as well!!

Voodoo and hoodoo will be shown in a respectful and realistic manner, and I will attempt to show Zecora in a non-stereotypical manner.

Spike will still have a crush on rarity, but spike being a romantic interest for adult ponies, or having his feelings reciprocated in any way will be removed from the story.

I will attempt to keep an early 2010s feel and humor, but there're also so many american exclusive jokes and media references from past that time to make

My favorite example of in-show fuel for Fluttercord (queer-platonic or romantic, I prefer the former but can appreciate the latter) was in 'To Where and Back Again', when Starlight was trying to get Discord's help to save their friends from changelings, she mentions the Mane 6 being kidnapped and Discord goes from not giving a shit to furious in a second. "They took Fluttershy?!?" "Yes-" "WHERE." If Chrysalis didn't have that plot convenient anti magic throne, I fully believe Discord would've teleported right to the dungeon and reduced the entire castle to charred atoms on the wind with a snap. Leaving Fluttershy unharmed and the other less important ponies lightly singed. It would've been a short finale and prevented the other changelings from reforming, but still.

I’m anti-proship, not shipping. There’s nothing wrong with shipping teenage characters, as long as it’s not in a sexualized way. And there are no pairings where characters are related or possibly related, if you’re referring to Brightpear they were never implied to be related.

Also to answer the second ask you sent, Fluttercord is not proship, but it’s perfectly valid to find it uncomfortable and not like it. However Fluttershy is an adult character, and Fluttershy and Discord met when she was an adult. So there isn’t anything wrong with Fluttercord.

I can't think of anything toxic about Chaggie. It scares me to think that people are expecting relationships to be perfect, flawless and any kind of misunderstanding makes someone evil, toxic, abusive, unforgivable. Everyone talks about empathy and forgiveness but they won't lose any opportunity to destroy someone's life because of something cringe they said/did 10 years ago.
