Horror Month 2024 Day 28: Tales from the Darkside: The Movie
I know I said I wouldn’t go too lighthearted with the horror movies for the rest of the month. But there’s a difference between a film that’s an outright comedy and one that just doesn’t take itself too seriously. While this film, based on the television series of the same name, is supposed to be in the former category (certainly with the wraparound segments), I would argue that it spends most of…

Interview With Director/Writer Jamison M. LoCascio: 7x7
Written by Luke Barnes I recently had the chance to interview Writer/ Director Jamison M. LoCascio about their new anthology film 7×7, which depicts a series of disasters and dark moments and the tales of survival and hope which exist within them. In this interview we discuss, the human spirit, hopefulness and the genuine sense of panic that comes about when you think you might miss your train.I…

Here’s a bunch of reasons people hate Taylor swift, but it’s not actually what they say, it’s what they mean-
They hate that she makes songs publicly criticising men they venerate for being shitty people
They hate thats she’s a powerful woman
They don’t understand her lyrics so they think she can’t write
They don’t realise that a 35 year old woman is going to sound like a 35 year old woman
They hate that shes hot
They’ve listened to like 4 songs and decided all of them are the same
They’re media illiterate
They hate a woman who doesn’t centre her life around men
They hate a non married woman with no kids
They hate women who are kind, smart, and pretty because women are only allowed to be maximum 2 of those in their eyes
They have a desperate need to be different
They have internalised misogyny and hate her because she targets so much of her songs and brand stuff to teenage girls

You should watch Kizazi Moto!
Tumblr media
Okay, people. One quick thing: You should totally watch Kizazi Moto on Disney+. It is an anthology series. Meaning: 10 animated short films, each telling their own stories. All in different animation style.
If I had to describe it, I would call it: Like Love Death + Robots, but African and actually good.
Disney has not marketed it much. Heck, even with the recent release I have heard it does not show up on the front page of Disney+ for me.
But really, you should give it a shot. Especially if you want to see diversity and if you enjoy Cyberpunk or Solarpunk, because both of the genre can be found within the Afrofuturist stories of the series.
I really hope more people see it.

7X7: Tales From The Darkness
Written by Luke Barnes Summary Stories of survival told during some of the darkest times imaginable. As many of you will know, my thoughts on anthology films are often mixed, when the narrative is split between a lot of different stories and characters there tends to be an issue with over stretching and becoming convoluted, this is coupled with the fact that one bad story can sink an anthology…
