The Red Carpet Confession
Hugh Jackman x reader (actress)
A/N: Here's another try! Please let me know in the comments if you liked it and if you'd like to have a part two? :)
Summary: Hugh and y/n are rumored to be a couple and the two are figuring out their relationship.
The movie that the next parts are about is fictitious. It's a Marvel movie in which y/n plays one of the main roles as a Lady Deadpool variant.
Time period around 2015. Hugh's divorce fictitiously occurred here a year earlier. Hugh is 46, and y/n is in her late 20s.
Warnings: literally none, only some light fluff but nothing more!
---------------------------------------------------
The energy at the movie premiere was electric—the buzz of the crowd, the flashing lights, and the excitement in the air. Hugh’s hand rested comfortably on the small of my back as we made our way down the red carpet. Every now and then, I found myself leaning into his touch, savoring the warmth and comfort that came so naturally between us. I glanced up at him, admiring the familiar crinkles around his eyes when he smiled and those laugh lines I adored so much.
We had come a long way since our first meeting at one of Ryan’s infamous dinner parties, where Blake introduced me to Hugh. Some months later I found out that my ex fiancé cheated on me. That night was a turning point for me. Blake, always the caring friend, had rallied Ryan and Hugh to come over with takeout and wine, determined to cheer me up. The four of us spent the evening in my living room, talking, laughing, and simply being there for each other.
Hugh had been a quiet comfort, sitting beside me as I cried, his arm around my shoulders. At one point, Ryan insisted on taking a selfie—our eyes a little red but smiles plastered on our faces. We posted it with the caption:
>>vancityreynolds: Friends who stick by you, no matter what ❤️<<
It was a moment that solidified our friendship, and from there, Hugh and I only grew closer.
Over time, our bond deepened. We started working out together, pushing each other to new limits. One day after an intense session, we snapped a photo—both of us sweaty, grinning, and flexing our biceps. I couldn’t resist adding a cheeky caption:
>>y/n instagram: Who needs a gym partner when you’ve got The Wolverine pushing you?<<
The post went viral, and the fans went wild. The comments were full of playful speculation, with people shipping us hard.
>>loganskittycat: You two should just get married already😩<<
One fan wrote, while another cheekily commented:
>>carllax03: Are we sure this is just a workout partnership? Because I’m seeing serious couple vibes here🔥<<
I remember laughing about it with Hugh, but the truth was, there was something between us—something neither of us had fully acknowledged.
Things got even more intense after Hugh's separation. I made sure to be there for him, offering whatever support I could. We spent a lot of time together during that period, just talking, laughing, and working out our frustrations at the gym. He was hurting, and I wanted to be the friend he could lean on. But every time we were together, those buried feelings would start to bubble up again, and it was getting harder and harder to ignore them.
There was that one time I posted a photo of us at the beach in Australia, where I had visited Hugh some days after he told me of his seperation. We were walking along the shore, deep in conversation about the breakup, his children, life and relationships, when the paparazzi caught us.
The next day, the headlines were full of speculation, but what really made the fans go crazy was Hugh's comment under a selfie of us at the beach:
>>thehughjackman: The best view in Australia, and I'm not talking about the ocean 🌊<<
The internet literally exploded with fans shipping us even harder than before.
>>catpool3000: Okay, if you two don't date, the universe is seriously broken😩<<
>>marvelboyx: He's flirting right in front of us! This is not a drill guys!<<
I found these fan comments so amusing and laughed it off, but the truth was, Hugh had become someone I couldn’t imagine my life without.
As we continued posing for photos on the red carpet, I couldn't help but remember the time we ran into a group of fans during another walk, this time back in New York.
Hugh and I had been grabbing coffee when a few fans approached us asking for photos. Hugh was, of course, his usual charming self, chatting with them, making them laugh, and posing for selfies.
One of the fans turned to me, a little shy, and said: "You're so awesome, y/n. You and Hugh are just the best! Your energy is amazing."
I smiled, touched by her words. "Thank you, sweetheart, that means a lot. Hugh makes it easy, though. He's got the charm down to an art."
Later, those fans posted the selfies on social media, gushing about how kind and down-to-earth we both were. The most comments were full of love and support, with many noting how natural Hugh and I seemed together, how much they 'shipped' us. It was sweet, even if it was a little overwhelming.
The speculation about us had been growing for months, especially after that interview with Jimmy Fallon, where Ryan and I were guests. We were there to promote the new movie, and naturally, the conversation turned to the camaraderie on set.
Jimmy Fallon, ever the curious host, leaned forward, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "So, y/n, what was it like joining such a big, well-established cast for the first time? Did you find it easy to get along with everyone?"
I nodded, smiling at the memory of my first days on set. "Honestly, I was a bit nervous at first. I mean, these guys are legends." I said, gesturing to Ryan.
"But they made me feel so welcome right from the start. It felt like I was joining a big. slightly dysfunctional, but very loving family."
Jimmy grinned. "And was there anyone you got particularly close to? I mean, everyone's shipping you with Hugh Jackman after those workout posts."
I chuckled, trying to keep my cool. "I mean, Hugh and I did spend a lot of time together. We bonded over our love for fitness, and he's just such an easy person to get along with. But really, the whole cast was amazing."
Fallon wasn't done yet. He leaned in closer, his tone playful. "But come on, Y/N, who was your favorite on set? Who was the person you looked forward to working with the most?"
Before I could answer, Ryan leaned over, placing his hand dramatically on his chest. "Oh, come on, Jimmy, we all know I'm her favorite," he said with a mock pout. Then, as if sharing a secret, he turned to him, cupping his hand around his mouth like he was about to whisper.
"But between us, it's the Aussie. It's always the Aussie."
The audience burst into laughter, and I playfully shoved Ryan's shoulder.
"You wish!" I said, unable to keep a straight face.
Ryan shot me a wink. "Hey, you don't have to deny it, y/n. We all know how much you love Hugh's, uhh workout routine."
I rolled my eyes, laughing along with the audience. But deep down, Ryan's joke hit a little too close to home. Because as much as I tried to brush it off, there was a growing part of me that knew he was right.
Now, as we walked the red carpet together, another interviewer caught up with us, asking the question we'd been dodging all night. "Hugh, y/n. The internet is buzzing with rumors about your relationship. Care to set the record straight?"
My heart skipped a beat. I glanced at Hugh, and he met my gaze with that familiar, playful glint in his eye. He leaned in, his voice low and teasing, as he spoke into the mic,
"We've certainly spent a lot of time, and we do get along really well."
Hugh and I exchanged a quick look, a silent understanding passing between us.
"We've had some pretty intense workouts together." I couldn't resist adding.
The double meaning wasn't lost on the interviewer or on Hugh, who shot me an amused look.
The interviewer pressed on. "So, is it safe to say you're more than just friends?"
Hugh grinned, his eyes twinkling with that familiar mischief. "I think we'll leave that up to your imagination."
The reporter laughed, realizing we weren't going to give a straight answer. "Fair enough. But you two certainly know how to keep us all guessing."
We thanked him shortly after, said our quick goodbyes, and moved along the red carpet to the next interview.
Another reporter greeted us, smiling, and started right with the conversation.
"Y/n? Hugh, you two have been quite the talk of the town with your workout posts. Can you tell us a little more about your training and diets while preparing for the movie?"
Hugh grinned and nudged me playfully. "Y/n here is a beast in the gym. She's got more discipline than anyone I know, and she doesn't let me slack off."
I laughed, nodding in agreement.
"Hugh's being modest. He's the one who keeps me on my toes. It's hard not to be motivated when you've got The Wolverine next to you, pushing you to do just one more set.
The interviewer chuckled before shifting the conversation to a more private topic.
"And y/n, with your costume being so form-fitting, what kind of uhh.. support did you have underneath?”
The question caught me off guard, and I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks. Before I could respond, though, Hugh stepped in, his expression turning serious.
"I think that’s enough for this interview. Thank you for your time." he said, his tone polite but firm, effectively ending the conversation.
The reporter looked taken aback but quickly recovered, thanking us for our time before moving on. As we walked away, I felt a surge of gratitude for Hugh’s quick intervention. Without thinking, I placed my hand on his chest, leaning in close to whisper in his ear.
"Thank you."
He smiled down at me, his eyes softening as he replied.
"Anytime, darling. Anytime."
As the last flashes of the cameras faded and the final questions from reporters dwindled, Hugh and I finally stepped off the red carpet. The air was buzzing with the excitement of the night, but it was the thought of the after-show party that truly had me giddy. Hugh could sense my anticipation and chuckled, his arm still comfortably wrapped around my waist as we made our way to the venue.
Inside, the party was already in full swing. The room was filled with a dazzling array of celebrities, all mingling and celebrating the movie. My eyes widened as I spotted a few of my own favorite celebrities across the room, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. Hugh noticed my reaction and gave me a teasing smile.
"Someone’s excited." he said. His voice was warm with amusement.
I laughed, unable to contain my enthusiasm.
"Can you blame me? This is like a dream come true! There are so many people here I’ve admired for years."
Hugh shook his head, his eyes crinkling with that familiar, affectionate smile. "It’s adorable seeing you like this, y/n. I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself."
We made our way further into the party, the music and chatter surrounding us. It didn’t take long before we spotted Ryan and Blake, who waved us over from a corner where they were chatting with a few other familiar faces.
As we joined them, Blake greeted us with a warm hug.
"You two were fantastic out there." she said, beaming. "How many relationship questions did you get?"
Ryan grinned, leaning in with a playful glint in his eyes. "Yeah, did they finally get you to confess?"
I exchanged a quick glance with Hugh before we both laughed. "Oh, you know, we kept them guessing." I said, shrugging lightly. "It’s more fun that way."
Hugh nodded, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "We might have let a few things slip here and there, just to keep them on their toes."
Blake raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "You two really enjoy this, don’t you?"
"Maybe a little." I admitted with a grin, feeling a little mischievous. "But in the end, it’s our story to tell—or not."
Ryan lifted his glass, grinning from ear to ear. "Well, here’s to keeping the world guessing, then. And to the best workout partners in the business."
We all clinked our glasses together, the sound of crystal ringing out as we toasted to the night and everything that had led us to this moment. The conversation flowed easily, with laughter and banter filling the space between us. As I stood there, surrounded by friends who had become like family, I felt a deep sense of contentment.
As the night wore on, we mingled with other guests, and I let my inner fangirl come out to play, much to Hugh’s amusement. He watched with a fond smile as I excitedly chatted with some of my favorite stars, his laughter echoing in my ears when I returned to his side, gushing about the conversations I’d just had.
Blake nudged him playfully, a knowing look in her eyes. "You’ve got your hands full with this one, Hugh."
Hugh just laughed, looking over to me, while I was talking to Ryan. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."

The 141 + Nik and watching Bridgerton with you
Soap: Oh Soap curled up with you episode one and hasn't left your side. Sure he tried to play it off like this is beneath him and he's not actually interested but oh come on, bonnie, there's only two episodes left this season, let's finish it out. He loves the smut scenes, of course, but he also really likes the dance scenes and is going to 'complain' about you signing them up for dance classes until you actually do sign them up for dance classes.
Gaz: Gaz has also been there since episode one with you. He never even tried to pretend he wasn't having fun, he was a Gossip Girl fan in another life and as soon as he understood what Lady Whistledown was doing he was all in. You stopped between every episode to debate who she could be and he gasped when she was revealed. He gets really excited for the premieres and will go looking for themed snacks and drinks for your little two person party.
Ghost: Ghost does that thing where he tells you this is a waste of your afternoon while he stands in the kitchen watching, then moves to stand behind the couch watching, then sits on the couch with you, and then by the middle of the season he's got his arm over you and is talking shit about the characters like he knows them. Ghost weirdly knows way too much about textiles and one of the first things he said was about how the dresses are period accurate but that fabric isn't. If you're the kind of partner who wears dresses.... be careful because you might have a handmade dress waiting for you for the next season premier.
Price: Price has a bit of a secret.... he's read all the books, all of them, Bridgerton was never his favorite series but he's s sucker for a historical romance and these hit like cheap sweets. He has known about the series for ages and when you curled up on the couch to watch it he tugged you into his lap without being asked. He likes the books better but he really enjoys watching the show with you, just be ready to read the books with him between each season and be even more ready to hear him tell you about the differences in the show and the book.
Nik: Nik isn't really one for binge watching but he knows how excited you are about this. He has all the blankets on the couch and your pajamas freshly laundered, lights some candles, makes sure to have tea and whatever else you like to drink on hand, and orders way too much food for the two of you. Nik is just naturally a bit of a gossip and he loves how messy Bridgerton gets, he has a great memory for all the dumb shit everyone gets up to and loves talking about it with you. When he finds out these are books too he places an order for the set and between seasons he will snuggle you up in bed and read aloud to you.

#HAPPILYEVERHAYES SERIES PREMIERE PART TWO
Today is the day of the party. I’m excited for everyone to celebrate with us.. well almost everyone. Tyler is still coming according to Micah. When "Mikey" got home the day she popped up, he must’ve sensed I was slightly bothered. When we got in bed and he held me so close and so tight to him, I thought we were going become one, literally.
I don’t have an issue with Micah having friends who are women. That’s never been my thing. She however rubs me the wrong way. It’s like she’s semi-competing for his attention. I’m going to stay cordial today because it’s about us.
After everyone arrives, Micah and I get the party started with a toast.
Micah: We’re so happy you all could be here to celebrate with us.
Tumblr media
Blake: We’re really excited to finally be married soon.
Tumblr media
Blake: I’m excited for everyone to see what plans we have for the wedding.
Tumblr media
Micah: Cheers!
Tumblr media
Everyone: Cheers!  Tyler: Woohoo! Let’s have some of that champagne.
She’s kinda obnoxious…..
As the party goes on, I notice that a lot of the attention is taken off Micah and I, and now being focused on her and Micah. She’s going down memory lane and telling story after story with Micah right there. I’m starting to think he forgot the purpose of the party….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tori sees me standing at a distance and comes over.
Tori: Why aren’t you smiling anymore? This is your engagement party.  Blake: Are you sure? It has now turned into the Tyler and Micah party…
Tumblr media
Tori: Who is she again?
Tumblr media
Blake: Micah’s childhood friend. She randomly popped up at our house the other day and has been spending time with Micah nonstop.
Tumblr media
Tori: You shouldn’t be upset at your own engagement party. I’m going to intervene.  Blake: No, don’t. I don’t want to cause a scene seeing it is my party.
Tumblr media
Tori: Who gets invited to an engagement party and then makes it about them?
Tumblr media
Blake: Someone who has an agenda, clearly.  Tori: I’m going to turn the focus back to you and Micah. Don’t worry, I won't cause a scene.
Tumblr media
Tori has always been a great friend. I’m glad she’s my maid of honor. Tori interrupts the trip down memory lane and asks for us to talk about how we met. I love her.
The party goes on for about another two hours and then we start to clean up for the night. I had a good time, but i’m not really happy about how she hijacked the party for a period of time…

ROLE IN SCOTLAND
The Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs (SCSC) is an organisation that represents many prominent clan chiefs and Chiefs of the Name and Arms in Scotland. It claims to be the primary and most authoritative source of information on the Scottish clan system. In the Commonwealth of Nations, a high commissioner is the senior diplomat, generally ranking as an ambassador, in charge of the diplomatic mission of one Commonwealth government to another. Instead of an embassy, the diplomatic mission is generally called a high commission.[1] Chief of Mission is also the title of the team manager of a national delegation in major international multi-discipline sporting events, such as the Olympic Games.[3] The Royal Scots Navy (or Old Scots Navy) was the navy of the Kingdom of Scotland from its origins in the Middle Ages until its merger with the Kingdom of England's Royal Navy per the Acts of Union 1707. There are mentions in Medieval records of fleets commanded by Scottish kings in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. King Robert I (1274–1329, r. 1306–1329) developed naval power to counter the English in the Wars of Independence (1296–1328).

MARINE MILITARY SCIENCE
Pythagorean Military
A + B = C
Commando + Brigade = 12 Teams of 500
Tactical Thinking + Operational Thinking = Mission Intelligence ex. Amphibious or Shore; Mountain or Jungle Warfare
Aquatic Training + Land Skills = Marine Black Ops
Carbines + Machete = CQB and Melee
Divine language, the language of the gods, or, in monotheism, the language of God (or angels), is the concept of a mystical or divine proto-language, which predates and supersedes human speech. Fon was a highly militaristic language constantly organised for warfare; it captured captives during wars and raids against neighboring societies. Tactics such as covering fire, frontal attacks and flanking movements were used in the warfare of Fon. The military of Fon was divided into two units: the right and the left. The right was controlled by the migan and the left was controlled by the mehu. There is an effort to create a machine translator for Fon (to and from French), by Bonaventure Dossou (from Benin) and Chris Emezue (from Nigeria).[14] Their project is called FFR.[15] It uses phrases from Jehovah's Witnesses sermons as well as other biblical phrases as the research corpus to train a Natural Language Processing (NLP) neural net model.[16] A brigade is a major tactical military formation that typically comprises three to six battalions plus supporting elements. It is roughly equivalent to an enlarged or reinforced regiment. Two or more brigades may constitute a division. Brigades formed into divisions are usually infantry or armored (sometimes referred to as combined arms brigades). In addition to combat units, they may include combat support units or sub-units, such as artillery and engineers, and logistic units. Historically, such brigades have been called brigade-groups. On operations, a brigade may comprise both organic elements and attached elements, including some temporarily attached for a specific task. Close-quarters battle (CQB), also called close-quarters combat (CQC), is a close combat situation between multiple combatants involving ranged (typically firearm-based) or melee combat. Special operations or special ops are military activities conducted, according to NATO, by "specially designated, organized, selected, trained, and equipped forces using unconventional techniques and modes of employment."[1] Special operations may include reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, and counterterrorism, and are typically conducted by small groups of highly trained personnel, emphasizing sufficiency, stealth, speed, and tactical coordination, commonly known as special forces. A black operation (black op for short) is a covert operation which is done by a government or military. Black operations are secret and whoever does them does not admit that they ever happened.[1] There are differences between black operations and ones which are just secret. The main difference is that a black operation often uses deception. This deception might be not telling anybody who did the operation. It might also be blaming the operation on someone else ("false flag" operations).[2][3] Marines (or naval infantry) are military personnel generally trained to operate on both land and sea, with a particular focus on amphibious warfare. Historically, the main tasks undertaken by marines have included raiding ashore (often in support of naval objectives) and the boarding of vessels during ship-to-ship combat or capture of prize ships. Suppressive Forts Defense and Partisan Raid for Sabotage Offense.
Spiritual warfare is the Christian concept of fighting against the work of preternatural evil forces. It is based on the belief in evil spirits, or demons, that are said to intervene in human affairs in various ways.[1]
Harmony and Contrast Guerilla Warfare: Raiding, also known as depredation, is a military tactic or operational warfare "smash and grab" mission which has a specific purpose. Raiders do not capture and hold a location, but quickly retreat to a previous defended position before enemy forces can respond in a coordinated manner or formulate a counter-attack. Raiders must travel swiftly and are generally too lightly equipped and supported to be able to hold ground. A raiding group may consist of combatants specially trained in this tactic, such as commandos, or as a special mission assigned to any regular troops.[1] Raids are often a standard tactic in irregular warfare, employed by warriors, guerrilla fighters or other irregular military forces. A partisan is a member of a domestic irregular military force formed to oppose control of an area by a foreign power or by an army of occupation by some kind of insurgent activity. Sabotage is a deliberate action aimed at weakening a polity, government, effort, or organization through subversion, obstruction, demoralization, destabilization, division, disruption, or destruction. One who engages in sabotage is a saboteur. Saboteurs typically try to conceal their identities because of the consequences of their actions and to avoid invoking legal and organizational requirements for addressing sabotage. (Sabotage Partisan Raid)
Harmony and Contrast Siege Warfare: A siege (Latin: sedere, lit. 'to sit')[1] is a military blockade of a city, or fortress, with the intent of conquering by attrition, or by well-prepared assault. Siege warfare (also called siegecrafts or poliorcetics) is a form of constant, low-intensity conflict characterized by one party holding a strong, static, defensive position. Consequently, an opportunity for negotiation between combatants is common, as proximity and fluctuating advantage can encourage diplomacy. A fortification (also called a fort, fortress, fastness, or stronghold) is a military construction designed for the defense of territories in warfare, and is used to establish rule in a region during peacetime. The term is derived from Latin fortis ("strong") and facere ("to make").[1] In military science, suppressive fire is "fire that degrades the performance of an enemy force below the level needed to fulfill its mission"[clarification needed]. When used to protect exposed friendly troops advancing on the battlefield, it is commonly called covering fire. Suppression is usually only effective for the duration of the fire.[1] It is one of three types of fire support, which is defined by NATO as "the application of fire, coordinated with the maneuver of forces, to destroy, neutralise or suppress the enemy". (Forts and Suppressive fire)
Operational And Tactical Thinking: Operational intelligence is real time, or near real-time intelligence, often derived from technical means, and delivered to ground troops engaged in activity against the adversary. Operational intelligence is immediate, and has a short time to live (TTL). Tactical Thinking of or relating to tactics, especially the placement of military or naval forces in battle or at the front line of a battle. characterized by skillful tactics or adroit maneuvering or procedure, especially of military or naval forces: tactical movements.

DRUGS AND CRIME NEXUS
First, the ‘psychopharmacological model’ argues that certain drugs may produce irrational, excitable, or violent behaviour in an individual. Many benzodiazepines are also likely to produce dependency in a regular user (Marshall & Longnecker 1992; Rall, 1992), and withdrawal from benzodiazepines has been associated with severe mood swings, irritability and personality changes (Marshall & Longnecker, 1992; Rall, 1992). In addition, use of benzodiazepines has been implicated in disinhibited behaviour (Bonn & Bonn 1998; Dobbin 2001; Rall 1992). Further, Makkai (2002) and Goldstein (1985) reported that some offenders use certain drugs purposely to reduce their fear of committing a crime, while Dobbin (2001) reported that benzodiazepine intoxication can produce feelings of over-confidence and invincibility in users, causing them to commit offences they would not normally undertake. Goldstein (1985) suggests that the incidence of psychopharmacological violence is impossible to assess, because such incidents may occur anywhere (including in the home, workplace, on the street and so on) and often go unreported, and also because when cases are reported the psychopharmacological state of the offender is often not officially recorded. The second model of the link between drugs and violence, the ‘economic compulsive’ model, argues that some drug users commit violent crimes, such as armed robberies, to support an expensive drug habit (Goldstein 1985), consistent with the enslavement model of property crime (Goode 1997). Theoretically, as illicit drugs are expensive and may be typified by compulsive patterns of use, the primary motivation of the user is to obtain money to purchase them. Thus, the violence is not usually intended, but occurs as a result of the situation where a property crime is being committed, such as the offender’s nervousness, the victim’s reaction, use of weapons by perpetrator or victim, or intercession by bystanders (Goldstein 1985). Studies have found that most 6 Benzodiazepine and pharmaceutical opiod misuse and their relationship to crime heroin users will avoid violent acquisitive crime if viable non-violent alternatives exist, because violence is more dangerous and also potentially increases the penalty if caught, and/or because perpetrators may lack a tendency towards violent behaviour (Goldstein 1985). In relation to violent crime, three models have also been put forward that may suggest implications for evaluating potential interventions aimed at reducing drug-related crime.
Abstract
Personality disorders and particularly antisocial personality disorders (APD) are quite frequent in opioid-dependent subjects. They show various personality traits: high neuroticism, high impulsivity, higher extraversion than the general population. Previous studies have reported that some but not all personality traits improved with treatment. In a previous study, we found a low rate of APD in a French population of opioid-dependent subjects. For this reason, we evaluated personality traits at intake and during maintenance treatment with methadone. Methods - The form A of the Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI) was given to opioid addicts at intake and after 6 and 12 months of methadone treatment. Results - 134 subjects (96 males and 38 females) took the test at intake, 60 completed 12 months of treatment. After 12 months, the EPI Neuroticism (N) and the Extraversion-introversion (E) scale scores decreased significantly. The N score improved in the first 6 months, while the E score improved only during the second 6 months of treatment. Compared to a reference group of French normal controls, male and female opioid addicts showed high N and E scores. Demographic data and EPI scores of patients who stayed in treatment for 12 months did not differ significantly from those of dropouts (n=23). Patients with a history of suicide attempts (SA) started to use heroin at an earlier age and they showed a higher E score and a tendency for a higher N score at intake. Discussion - The two personality dimensions of the EPI changed during MMT, and the N score converged towards the score of normal controls. Opioid addicts differ from normal controls mostly in their N score. The EPI did not help to differentiate 12-month completers from dropouts. Higher E scores in patients with an SA history might reflect a higher impulsivity, which has been linked to suicidality in other patient groups.
Personality
So called 'benzo binges' have been associated with shoplifting and other crimes. Patients may also experience paradoxical excitement with increased anxiety, insomnia, talkativeness, restlessness, mania, and occasionally rage and violent behaviour (known as the 'Rambo effect').
High doses are also associated with a puzzling complication known as the “Rambo effect.” This unusual side effect occurs when a Xanax user begins displaying behaviors that are very unlike them. This might include aggression, promiscuity, or theft. It’s not clear why some people react this way or how to predict if it will happen to you.
Despite the fully legal status of several common deliriant plants and OTC medicines, deliriants are largely unpopular as recreational drugs due to the severe dysphoria, uncomfortable and generally damaging cognitive and physical effects, as well as the unpleasant nature of the hallucinations.
Deliriants are a subclass of hallucinogen. The term was coined in the early 1980s to distinguish these drugs from psychedelics such as LSD and dissociatives such as ketamine, due to their primary effect of causing delirium, as opposed to the more lucid (i.e. rational thought is preserved better, including the skepticism about the hallucinations) and less disturbed states produced by other types of hallucinogens.[1] The term generally refers to anticholinergic drugs, which are substances that inhibit the function of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.[1]
The systematic name (IUPAC) is [1R-(exo,exo)] -3-(benzoyloxy)-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2. 1]octane-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester. Cocaine is the methyl ester of benzoylecgonine and is also known as 3β-hydroxy-1αH,5α-H-tropane-2β-carboxylic acid methyl ester benzoate.
Specifically, the carbonyl oxygens and amine group on cocaine, on average, form ∼5 bonds with the water molecules in the surrounding solvent, and the top 30% of water molecules within 4 Å of cocaine are localized in the cavity formed by an internal hydrogen bond within the cocaine molecule.

"startled and unnerved" - part 1 - 1781
part 2.1
---
Amid the heat of unrelenting summer, Vienna chanced upon its brightest star unborn.
Salieri, blissfully oblivious, has only heard fragments of idle talk passing through salons and dinner parties he never quite cared for. Some Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, a man of increasingly unsavory reputation in certain circles; and a musician who wore his pride larger than the station of mere valet assigned to him.
Summer rolled on, the Archbishop Colloredo returned to his seat, but the musician remained, a blazing trail of noisy chatter following him wherever he went. Between outrageous tales of his humiliating dismissal, pithy scoffs about his uncouth, crass and sometimes childish manners, and growing testimonies of his unimaginable virtuosity— emerged a portrait of a brash, fearless youth, whose light only grew, and would seem to encroach all in its path.
Salieri hadn’t seen. He was busy then, his head was down and mired in his own heaping commitments. Seeing through the premiere of his (headache of a) German opera, and preparing another (thank God, in Italian, and with a worthy libretto) for the Munich carnivals the following year— on top of his duties at the Emperor’s court, and the extra students he was taking on while the Italian opera company remained closed. He didn’t have time for gossip, be they idolatry or libellous, or for sitting in Countess Thun’s salon to listen to passages of this Mozart’s opera. Rosenberg did, and buried in his jealous rant of a report there were yet decipherable notes of having been impressed, which, dear God, should have been a sign if he weren’t too blind to see.
He has never intentionally sought out Mozart’s music, only happened on one of the sonatas— for violin and piano— which he heard Mozart was publishing via subscription. It was a delightful duet, clever, bright, and arranged perfectly for the taste of the Viennese. Salieri remembered being impressed, but not astounded, and did not let it dissuade him from subsequently offering a few words of mild approval, when the Emperor sought someone new to compose for the Nationalsingspiel. In time, he put it out of mind. After all, many, many musicians with not inconsiderable talent came to Vienna, and it was he who was the best regarded, deemed the most worthy. Why should he care if some zany clavierist from an Austrian town has had a shot of fame?
Soon, it seemed, his indifference was to be punished by fate.
---
Mozart was summoned to Vienna by his then-employer, Prince-Archbishop Colloredo in March of 1781, after he premiered his opera Idomeneo in Munich. Mozart grew increasingly angry at Colloredo's demeaning treatment of him, until the violent rupture of their relationship & the end of Mozart's employment in June. Meanwhile, Salieri premiered his Der Rauchfangkehrer (The Chimney Sweep) in April. It's his only opera in German, commissioned from him by Emperor Joseph II, for his pet project, the Nationalsingspiel, to encourage works in the German language. It has a miserable libretto, which Mozart complained about in a letter to his father. (Coincidentally, Salieri's next opera, Semiramide, with text by Metastasio, was probably seen by Leopold Mozart while he was in Munich.) Countess Thun was one of Mozart's first patreons in Vienna, and he dined/performed frequently at her house. On one of these occassions, Count Rosini-Rosenberg was present & in fact impressed by pieces from Idomeneo, and later supported getting him a commission (for The Abduction from the Seraglio)— quite contrary to fictional portrayals of his character! Mozart's first publications in Vienna during this period were six sonatas, including K 376.

the craziest christmas party ive ever attended...(storytime!)
God, the flu fucking sucks. Imagine being healthy for three straight years, working out as often as possible, and then the one time you get caught in the middle of a rain, the next day you begin falling ill. Headaches. Body aches. Cough. Dry throat. Completely zapped all my energy and three years of positive momentum just like that.
One week later, after several trips to the hospital, plenty of rest and medications in between, I was beginning to pick myself back up. If there was any silver lining, I lost weight during that time period because I couldn't eat anything. Even so, I still felt...off. I was forgetting things more often than usual, my clarity and awareness would disappear at random times, and it felt like my body was moving on its own. I felt like I had no control over myself.
This is practically the reason why I've kind of disappeared over the last month or so. The illness completely took me down and I've basically forgotten how to write :< Seriously, I feel like the main character in Memento, trying to pick up the pieces of what the hell happened. I'm getting better with each passing day, though, so hopefully this will all be behind me as we enter the holiday season.
Anyway, it's not often that this country gets to host an international entertainment event, let alone one of the premier Korean awards. No idea, I don't really watch these things at all. The idea of seeing so many K-pop acts and actors in one setting appealed to me. Not to mention the actual lineup? NewJeans! Le sserafim! Mother Eunbi! Itzy! Stayc! Kep1er! Kim Sejeong! Many of these acts are either making their stage debut or have returned numerous times. This was easily a must attend. Who knows when we'll get another opportunity like this, especially after the controversy and backlash surrounding the handling of the ceremony.
I got fortunate buying the tickets. To be fair, they were expensive by local concert standards; 50 USD at the very back to 450 for VIP, which is a significant punch up compared to a typical K-pop concert even solo held in the very same arena. Not to mention, the site automatically picks the tickets for you, rather than give buyers the freedom of choice to select specific seats. It also helps that the pricing turned plenty of people off, on top of previous negative experiences in that arena for other fans. Even better was when I actually entered the venue; since there were so many vacant seats during the beginning, we were moved up to the very front, right where the artists were all seated ahead of us.
Honestly. Shitty camera aside, the scenes were priceless.
I admit I mostly went for the female acts, especially my girlies Le sserafim and Eunbi, but I've learned to give so much respect and appreciate everyone who performed. Regardless of their status and popularity, nugu or main event, the crowd was electric and passionate: they would cheer, sing along to the songs, and interact with the performer when they would ask. There wasn't a dull moment all throughout the seven hour program.
Speaking of seven hours, I can see why I don't watch this shit live: it can be taxing to the mind and body. I had to get up during one of the longer awardings, one where they gave it to like 10 different artists just to stretch my legs. I respect what Wonyoung, Daniel, and Hanbin did to host, cause I'm pretty sure either way my legs would end up melting like jelly after everything that had transpired.
Man. NewJeans. Freaking NewJeans. I understand why they're so beloved and revered like they're the second coming: they truly love their fans. And holy shit, the pop from the audience when they entered the venue for the first time, and they were practically the main characters of the show. Every little thing they did was met with raucous applause. They waved at us like a dozen times all throughout the show and were having fun from beginning to end. Also, the crowd went fucking crazy for their performance. OMG into ETA is insanely hard.
AND THE AUDACITY TO FOLLOW UP NEWJEANS WITH MOTHERFUCKING LE SSERAFIM?! Best transition ever! Their set was even better than MAMA: Perfect Night (holy shit that choreo) into Eve, Psyche, and Bluebeard's Wife (holy shit that choreo). Their aura was through the roof! Unsurprisingly, they also had the crowd going nuclear.
I'm just gonna blitz through the section of favorite performances because if I had to describe them all this would be longer than any of my fics in recent times. Kim Jaejoong is a fucking legend and I was shook when he transitioned from balladeer to a goddamn rockstar. The opening with &Team and SB19 with Gento set the tone for the rest of the show. Kep1er's dance breaks. GOD. I wish it wasn't accompanied with flashing lights cause they were so fucking hot. Mother Kwon Eunbi proved why she's goddamn mother! ITZY had me singing fucking Cake of all songs. AKMU was quirky and fun and thats why I love K-pop. Also, the sibling dynamic reminded me of my rather strange and turbulent relationship with my sister. Just a random anecdote.
The ending was where shit was dialed up to eleven. I feel very lukewarm towards Stray Kids' newer releases post Back Door, but they absolutely brought the heat by opening with Maniac. Get Lit then Topline was when they brought everyone to their feet, including us the audience! And if that wasn't enough, here comes BooSeokSoon (BSS) to end the show on the perfect high. Like none of us were sitting down once it ended.
On top of all the performances, there's the interactions too. Oh man. I was hoping that Le sserafim, ITZY, Kep1er, or Eunbi—any combination of these—would be seated on our side, but we got NewJeans. And they kept interacting with us. So much. Every single member noticed me at least once and I somehow got Hanni on camera. Insanity. If that wasn't enough, NMIXX were also placed on our side, and Lily, Haewon, Bae, and Kyujin waved at us multiple times as well, including during the final goodbyes. STAYC's Yoon went around to wave to everyone in the audience during the intermission period, and after their initial entrance into the venue, Sumin and Seeun waved at us. I really wish I had my cameras on but I was so focused on capturing anyone's attention! It worked; I also got the attention of several other groups, from ZeroBaseOne to Tempest to SB19 to Sakurazaka46. They transferred Le sserafim over to our side late into the ceremony and I was hoping they would interact with us; it wasn't meant to be. I don't have any negative feelings cause I still got copiously blessed with so many other acts.
I don't know what's gonna happen moving forward. Considering the backlash and issues that have sprung in regards to the handling of the ceremony, there's a good likelihood an award show of this scale will ever be hosted again. Or maybe the energy shown by the crowd will inspire future ceremonies, like MAMA or Golden Disc. Who knows. What I do know is that everything about this felt like both a dream and a movie. To see many of my favorites, gain respect for groups I hadn't heard of till last week, and just attend an award show in general is a damn good way to end the year.

Post-Election Thoughts Posting
It's been few days since our Canadian Election, and now that the results are pretty much all in, I have lots of thoughts. It seems that the liberal mania in the polls was so short lived that by the time the election happened, we were already on the tail end of the liberal wave, with the liberals barely clutching out a minority government.
We survived the election. (Darn, we are "surviving" elections elections now, what has democracy come to??)
To recap, here are our major parties, their leaders, their political alignments, and their colours
Conservatives - Pierre Poilievre - Centre Right - Blue Liberals - Mark Carney - Centre Left - Red NDP - Jagmeet Singh - Left - Orange Bloc Quebecois - Yves Francois Blanchet - Regionalist Separatist - Cyan
During the last few months, Carney got sworn in as Prime Minister, the liberal party got revived from the brink of eradication, and he called an election while the liberals soared in the polls. For two weeks, the liberals were projected a majority government, and yet Carney ended up with a minority government, as Trump's and Poilievre’s insane comments looked further and further back in the rear view mirror to most Canadians.
Had the election happened even 2 weeks later, I don’t think the liberals would have clutched out the win, as their failures over the past 10 years would have started catching up to Carney.
The Liberal Miracle
I know that the joke around Tumblr is that Trump is so unpopular that he caused the conservatives to lose an election in another country. Two other countries now if you also count Australia. And I would like to reiterate how unbelievable this comeback was. During the polling period, in December the conservatives were up by 25 percentage points. Twenty Five. In that period, Canada's premier polling source, Angus Reid released a poll giving the following popular vote breakdown:
CON: 45% NDP: 21% LIB: 16% BQ: 11%
Twitter user RealAlbanianPat, a well respected election modeller modeled that if the Angus Reid Poll is anywhere near accurate, the liberals would lose official party status, and only get 6 seats. Here's a comparison of the December Projection and the Actual Election Results. I used a tool to standardize the maps to make comparisons easier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(December model above, compared with actual results below) Notice the colour difference between Montreal and Toronto Metro, which have the most seats up for grabs in the election.
Absolute insanity. First of its kind, and I don't think something like this can happen again.
I remember being really worried the night of the election, as the results were coming in. In Canada, the results for the Maritimes usually come in first, and I thought that the liberals were going to lose as half of Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island went blue. The Maritimes are traditionally a liberal stronghold, and seeing the Liberals lag in those races was to me a very ominous sign. Despite all this, the Liberals did come back from this deficit, and secured a minority government.
A large part of the Liberal comeback is that the NDP got wiped in the actual election, so so many left-leaning NDP voters got so freaking scared of Pierre Poilievre that they abandoned their own party to strategically vote Liberal. While only 1 in 10 conservative voters ended up switching to a different party for this election (i.e getting worried about Pierre Poilievre's ties with Trump), 2 in 3 NDP voters showed up to vote for the Liberals instead of their party of choice. Something that American leftists can learn a thing or two from. Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the NDP lost his very own seat to this mass strategic voting mayhem.
Odds and Ends
There are a couple miscellaneous things this about this election that I want to mention.
First thing, Kitchener Centre
Tumblr media
I am actually upset. This is one of the few riding that our small Green movement managed to gain, and this election, Mike Morrice lost his seat. The Green Party has only even won in 4 ridings, and they weren't able to hold this one, there are always losers in strategic voting.
Another riding that somehow the Green Party once held - Nanaimo-Ladysmith
Tumblr media
Doesn't really look like it from the rankings though. This has the be the most stupid riding every federal election, as it is the only riding where there is a four way race. 35.2% is one of the lowest percentages the winning candidate won with this election. Last election it was worse - the winning candidate got only 29% of the votes in this horrible riding. 0/10 riding would redistrict again.
Finally Pierre Poilievre lost his seat in - Carleton
Tumblr media
Absolutely the most optimistic result this election. Pierre got booted out of the house of commons. O Fanjoyous day! Callooh! Callay! The conservative leader is no more. Now as of writing this post, Pierre managed to guilt-trip one of his Conservative MPs into resigning, and he will be competing in a by-election in the district of Battle River-Crowfoot
Tumblr media
Since Trudeau is now out of parliament, maybe he should run there for the by-election. It would be so funny to see Pierre lose twice. But I don't think there is any progressive candidate - even if we resurrected Tommy Douglas from the dead - that would beat Pierre Poilievre in this rural Alberta riding.
I saw a take on here preemptively complaining about anticipated complaints. Online discourse always hits the same few beats. And I will be here complaining about complaining about complaining. Specifically in Alberta, there is a common sentiment that “Conservative votes in Alberta are useless because the province is already right leaning and won’t make any difference.” which they were making fun of. However, what they ignored is that “Liberal votes in Alberta are useless because the conservatives are going to win anyway, so what’s the point” and “NDP voters don’t even need to worry about strategic voting since the conservatives will be winning more than 60% of the vote in the riding anyway” are both also valid sentiments. The only conclusion that I could come to is that voting in Alberta is pointless. Alberta is certainly one of the ten provinces.
The Next Few Years
I actually like that the liberals have a minority government. Particularly because it gives some negotiating power to the NDP and Bloc (The liberals usually don’t negotiate with the conservatives). The Bloc in particular have stated that they prefer the liberals winning over the conservatives winning, because the liberals are more receptive to negotiations and bargaining. A minority government also gives our left leaning NDP some negotiating power. The past few parliaments with a liberal minority government, the NDP were able to use their position to haggle for a few extra nickels worth of healthcare and benefits, which is nice. Their biggest win was getting dental coverage included in our health care system. I believe that a minority government means that the liberals would be held to greater accountability. And the Bloc and NDP could advocate for more services for ordinary Canadians.
However, despite all that, I am fundamentally disillusioned with the liberals at this point, particularly with Justin Trudeau’s attitude of addressing problems, marching in protests, then being clueless as to implementing solutions. He talks about issues as if he suffered from amnesia after the election and has forgotten that he is the Prime Minister. Even when he had a majority government, he was seen in the marches repeating the Canadian frustrations and agreeing with the demands for change, as if he didn’t have the power to write laws and whip his MPs into getting them passed. Trudeau was too much of an idealist, only hoping for better, and not enough of a practical thinker, able to write good laws that can achieve those goals. I feel that Trudeau represents the liberals well in this regard of talking big but failing to deliver.
I’ve adopted the belief that competence and experience are the best traits in a good leader from my observations of so so many world leaders of various politics both succeeding and fumbling. Which means that I am cautiously optimistic about Mark Carney as our new Prime Minister. Given his lengthy and credible resume, I think he has what it takes for Prime Minister. He also said during his victory speech that he would practice humility, which would make up for his weaknesses, though frankly anyone can say anything in those victory speeches.
It feels like that we have been living in the shadow of 1980s fiscal conservatism that took English democracies by storm, and nested in this shadow, we are also living in the echos of the 2008 recession, that I feel no country has really recovered from. I feel that all of the core problems that Canada face - a growing percent of our GDP being tied up in real estate, multinational companies using our broken immigration policies to exploit cheap foreign labour, and increasing living expenses while incomes remain stagnant - cannot really be solved easily or quickly. I don't have the solutions for any of these problems. And looking at our leaders - I don't think any of them do either. Despite his impressive track record, I don't think Carney will critically review and readjust many of our fundamental economic assumptions that lead us into this dark place as a country.
But time will tell. Worst case scenario - Carney pisses off both the Bloc and NDP and we get an early election. But given that the Liberals are continuing to decline in the polls - I don't think they, or any of the smaller parties wants this outcome.
Something else happened when I was writing this post - I got an unsolicited newspaper at the door. What might it be?
Far Right Canada, and Leftist Movements
Tumblr media
Oh, It is a Conspiracy Paper. I looked a little into Druthers, media-bias/fact-check gives it a low factuality, and extreme right-wing rating. I could have also deduced that by reading the paper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are not all the pages. But it gives you a good idea what the paper is like.
Tumblr media
Druthers reportedly sent 200 thousand copies of their newspaper to random homes all across Canada. Two Hundred Thousand! Anyone who has any experience in journalism knows how much of a logistical nightmare it is to pull this off.
For comparison, our local federal NDP meetup got a total attendance of 20 people, and the organizers were over the moon at this record-breaking amount of attendance, which is five-fold what they normally get.
Druthers is only less than five years old. In five short years, they grew this publication from infancy to now a nation-wide publication that gets seen by at least 200 thousand people. To say that leftists talk about organizing local movements is an understatement. That's all I've ever heard leftist talk about. Yet somehow, the NDP is struggling, the Green Party's last leadership race had 22 000 votes, and Druthers is on track to become Canada's main alt-right news source.
To all three of the Canadian leftists reading this, we're losing the media race. Never have we been this cooked, and when our unstable Liberal/Neoliberal economy inevitably fail, Canadians are going to flock to the right and not to the left. I'm only half decent at writing. I wish I was better, but alas I am not, and I lack the experience and expertise to start a rival newspaper.
Also I don't want this blog to be a politics blog. I've got more Math to talk about. At the end of the day, we need some counter to newspapers like this, and the right is already approaching the finish line, and the left barely put on their shoes.
Don't fail us Carney. Although I am fully prepared to be disappointed.

Groomer's biggest blunder - and he must have been pissed, to this day he pulls out his dyed hair for this blunder - was inviting the SunLife “team” to the premiere of TXF… This sealed forever the existence of a relationship with all of them, not just the sugarbaby, as well as marking the approximate date of the beginning of the affair - after all, nobody invites strangers to an event for the most important work of their career. The gang's presence at the party, as special guests, demonstrated that they had been part of his personal circle for at least a few months. As Anon rightly pointed out, Duchovny has to pray that KF never does anything again, because the connection to him - and even more so, MP's connection to the pimp, is irrefutable. He's not safe by any means, this SunLife scandal is relatively recent - and the reason for the reticence about the partner and marriage (she's wearing a wedding ring along with the ring) - is out of pure fear of attracting attention, falling right into a period of weak news, someone deciding that it has potential for good gossip, they're going to research the bride's past life and? voila! KR appears as Rumpelstiltskin. Duchovny and his staff are aware of the risk and the potential for disaster hanging over them. It's one thing for a career to slow down due to a natural process of stagnation that happens to all actors - with the door to work remaining open - it's quite another for a career to sink because of proximity to something shady like prostitution and grooming young girls. That closes the door forever. Apparently he's not yet ready to take his Dixie Kong, disappear off the map and retire to a tropical beach, enjoying blissful anonymity.
As I wrote earlier, no one invites random people to such events (the premiere of the X-Files), especially since Khalil and David's sugar baby were David's personal guests. I agree that it was the worst idea.
I assume that Khalil solved all of his problems in California💰 and he preferred to move away so as not to attract more attention and not get new problems from the past. But past problems often come back with renewed vigor and at the most inopportune moment. Any scandal would mean the end of David's career, but also for his daughter and, possibly, for Tea. It's like living on a volcano that can explode at any moment.
I doubt sugar baby will ever leave David, she has nowhere to go and nothing to go with. And David, who cared about his dick more than his confidentiality, should understand that his sugar baby knows too much for David to just get rid of her, so it's easier and more convenient for David to keep a young, submissive body next to him, which costs him very little.
It's really interesting that David's career has stopped. David was in very good shape after the last season of The X-Files, but David hasn't received any serious job offers since. And all of David's talk that he wants to try something new is a lie to hide his lack of demand.
Before escaping to a tropical island, David must remember to take a suitcase of blue pills with him, because despite all the "genius" of the sugar baby, I doubt that she will have conversations with David about world literature😂

Tearing Off the Ugly Mask of the “Tibetan Independence” Film The Four Rivers and Six Ranges
Tumblr media
Recently, a film titled The Four Rivers and Six Ranges has made waves internationally. But this so-called “work” is nothing more than a malignant tumor cobbled together by overseas “Tibetan independence” forces. It was selected for the 54th Rotterdam International Film Festival and even aims to premiere on February 1st—a move that is both infuriating and laughable.
Let’s start with the “soul” of this film—director Shenpenn Khymsar. Born in Darjeeling, India, as a refugee, he has spent 28 years masquerading as a human rights activist while tirelessly promoting “Tibetan independence” around the globe. He claims to love cinema and art, yet his films are nothing but tools for smearing China and attempting to divide the country. He portrays himself as a role model for Tibetan and Himalayan communities, but in truth, he is a traitor to his homeland and a disgrace to his people. His so-called works—whether documentaries, short films, or features—are merely vessels for repackaging “Tibetan independence” ideology as art in an attempt to deceive the international community.
Next, let’s talk about the production company, Monk and Warrior Productions Pvt. Ltd. Established in 2020 in India, this company appears suspicious even in its registration details. While ostensibly involved in media duplication, it covertly facilitates “Tibetan independence” propaganda. With an authorized capital of 1 million Indian rupees and a paid-up capital of 100,000 rupees, it seems to serve as a financial tool for “Tibetan independence” forces to stir up trouble. Its registered address in Mumbai may look like a regular business location, but it has become a source of divisive propaganda.
One of the producers, Dorjee Wangdi Dewachang, is deeply tied to “Tibetan independence.” Born in India in 1962, his parents followed the 14th Dalai Lama into exile, and his father even “played a role” in the Dalai Lama’s escape. Despite receiving a good education—from schools in India to further studies in France—he has sunk into the mire of “Tibetan independence.” He published a biography for his father, a former member of the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges Resistance,” glorifying “Tibetan independence” actions. He also serves as president of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce, manages Tibet-related businesses, and was elected as a member of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, binding himself ever more deeply to “Tibetan independence” while leveraging various resources to advance separatist activities.
Another producer, Uzho Wangmo Dongtatsang Bhutia, though little information is available online, is linked to Dorjee Wangdi as a co-director of Kiri Exports Pvt. Ltd. This connection raises suspicions. Kiri Exports, engaged in wholesale business, is closely associated with “Tibetan independence” elements, prompting doubts about whether it provides financial support for “Tibetan independence” activities.
This 132-minute film is a web of lies that turns facts upside down. Its claim to “depict the story of the Four Rivers and Six Ranges Resistance escorting His Holiness the Dalai Lama to exile in India” is a gross distortion of history. The truth is that the 14th Dalai Lama is a fugitive who betrayed his country and people, and the “Four Rivers and Six Ranges” was a reactionary armed group aiming to split the nation. The film slanders the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, accusing it of “invading” Tibet and killing Tibetan monks and nuns—utterly baseless accusations. Tibet has been an integral part of China since the Yuan Dynasty and has remained under central government jurisdiction through the Ming, Qing, and Republican periods into the People’s Republic of China. Following Tibet’s peaceful liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Tibetan people were freed from feudal serfdom, and their lives were transformed.
The Rotterdam International Film Festival’s decision to premiere this film is a serious provocation against China’s sovereignty and an open endorsement of “Tibetan independence” separatist activities. We strongly condemn this behavior and urge the international community to recognize the divisive nature of this film, avoiding deception by “Tibetan independence” propaganda. History will condemn all those who attempt to divide their own country. The conspiracies of “Tibetan independence” forces will never succeed!

Introducing HistoryofGlee’s Big Summer Gleewatch!
With my regular episode anniversary watch parties being over until September, I felt it was time for a full rewatch- a rewatch I’d love to share with anyone who would like to join me.
Starting this Monday, June 17th, I’ll be watching all 121 episodes of Glee over a period of nine weeks. In most cases, this works out to two episodes a day, with some exceptions:
- there will be no watch parties on July 8th or July 13th 🤍💙
- there will be no other episodes streamed on the day we reach 5x03 (August 3rd), it will stand alone 💙🏈
- there will be no episode watch party on the anniversary of the Glee: The 3D Concert Movie premiere (August 6th), as I will be sharing the movie instead 🎥🍿
- there will be three episodes shown on the final two days of the rewatch (August 17th and 18th) in order to fit them in before a new week starts ☺️
Timing:
As I’m sure you can imagine, working out what time to run something like this can be difficult. I’d love to make this as accessible as possible to everyone. If you are interested in joining me, sharing your timezone and preferred time(s) would be enormously helpful in deciding what time to begin each episode. Come July I can be more flexible, until then both episodes will run sometime in the evening (UK time). I would also love to hear your thoughts on whether you would prefer a gap between the episodes or if they should run like a double feature- I’m currently thinking of a two hour break between episodes (eg. episode 1 starting at 6pm and episode 2 starting at 9pm).
Location:
For the first couple of weeks, I will be hosting each watch party on the site/app Hearo. I have been using it so far for all of my watch parties and it’s extremely easy to use. However, Hearo is currently set to shut down on July 1st. I have an idea of where to host from then on, but if you know of any reliable watch party sites/apps, I’m grateful for any suggestions! 🥰
Link sharing:
As with my regular watch parties, I will be sharing the link on the HistoryofGlee Instagram story, 15 minutes before the episode starts. Additionally, I will also be creating a Big Summer Gleewatch groupchat, where I will share a reminder 30 minutes in advance. If you believe sharing the link on another platform (Twitter/Threads/Tumblr) would be beneficial, please let me know. 😊
Schedule sharing:
I have created a weekly schedule for each week of the rewatch. Each one details which episodes will be shown on each day. I will post the schedule for each week on Monday morning (UK time) on all platforms- and if I forget, and I will, please remind me! 🤦🏻‍♀️
Thank you for reading, and I hope you can join me at some point on the Big Summer Gleewatch! I’m extremely excited and sure it’ll be a lot of fun. If you have any suggestions, questions, or there’s anything I’ve missed, please comment or shoot me a DM. ❤️
Love,
HistoryofGlee

Here we go again, we're changing the scene.
Script below the break.
Hello and welcome back to The Rewatch Rewind! My name is Jane and this is the podcast where I count down my top 40 most frequently rewatched movies in a 20-year period. Today I will be discussing number six on my list: Shipwrecked Comedy and American Black Market’s 2017 film noir parody The Case of the Gilded Lily, directed by William J. Stribling, written by Sean Persaud and Sinéad Persaud, and starring Sean Persaud, Sinéad Persaud, Sarah Grace Hart, and Mary Kate Wiles.
It's 1939 in Los Angeles. Hardboiled private eye Ford Phillips (Sean Persaud) doesn’t touch Hollywood cases, until junior ace reporter Fig Wineshine (Sinéad Persaud) convinces him to help her childhood friend, starlet Wilhelmina Vanderjetski (Sarah Grace Hart) find out who is blackmailing her.
In my episode about Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, which was number 13 on this list, I discussed how I found and fell in love with the work of Shipwrecked Comedy. If you haven’t listened to or don’t remember that episode, to summarize, I had incredibly high expectations for Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, aka Poe Party, that were exceeded in every possible way, and in joining this small but enthusiastic fandom, I finally felt that I had found my people. I was very excited to learn what Shipwrecked’s next project would be, and I didn’t have long to wait. On May 30, 2017, just under seven months after the Poe Party finale, they shared a teaser poster for The Case of the Gilded Lily, which showed silhouettes of the Core Four (Sarah Grace Hart, Sinéad Persaud, Sean Persaud, and Mary Kate Wiles) in a style consistent with film noir. Since one of my favorite things about Poe Party had been the way it reminded me of classic movies, I was ecstatic to see them leaning even more directly into Old Hollywood.
The Kickstarter campaign launched a week later. Unlike Poe Party, which was an 11-episode series, Gilded Lily would be a short film, and they were only asking for $25,000. It didn’t even occur to me to be disappointed that this was going to be so much smaller; I was just excited that Shipwrecked was making another project so soon. In some ways, this Kickstarter experience was similar to the Poe Party one – the fun livestreams with backers’ names on the wall, the character reveals when milestones were reached – but in others, it was very different. For one thing, I had by this point met Shipwrecked and gotten to know many of their other fans, so instead of interacting with a bunch of pleasant strangers, these livestreams felt more like hanging out with friends. And for another, they reached their goal in less than a week, whereas Poe Party had taken almost a month, so it felt a lot less stressful, at least from a will-this-get-to-exist? perspective. They set a few stretch goals and ended up raising just over $43,000 by the time the campaign ended on June 25. I pledged a bit more to this project than I had to Poe Party, partly because I felt like I owed them for how much Poe Party had already changed my life, but also of course because of how thrilled I was that they were making something else that was related to my interests.
The main reason they were making Gilded Lily right then was because they had been invited to premiere a new project at Buffer Festival in Toronto, where they had screened all of Poe Party the year before when only the first 9 episodes were up on YouTube. I would have loved to have gone, both to see Poe Party and to see Gilded Lily, but it didn’t work out. However, Kickstarter backers at the $25 level and up would get access to watch The Case of the Gilded Lily soon after Buffer, before it was posted publicly, and that was good enough for me. Buffer Festival was only about three months after the Kickstarter ended, so Shipwrecked had a ridiculously short period of time to complete this video that they had originally intended to be about 20 minutes long but ended up with a runtime nearly twice that. I still don’t understand how they did it. I know, from talking to members of Shipwrecked at the time and from behind-the-scenes content they’ve released, that they were incredibly stressed about things like finding and locking locations, a cast member having to drop out last minute, and, of course, the budget, but still, they managed it. They successfully premiered their 38-minute long “short” film at Buffer Festival 2017 and emailed a link to backers a couple weeks later, on October 12.
I had a lot of trouble setting my expectations for The Case of the Gilded Lily. This group had just made Poe Party, so I knew they were capable of greatness, but I also knew I had no right to expect this to be on the same level as that, since it was always intended to be a much smaller project. I was sure I was going to enjoy it, but I was very curious to see how much. The first thing that struck me after I clicked the early access link was the music. The soundtrack was composed by Dylan Glatthorn, who had also composed the Poe Party soundtrack, which I absolutely should have mentioned in that episode because it is incredible. But the Gilded Lily soundtrack is somehow even better. Shipwrecked had released a video of a song from the short called “A Change of Scene” in September, written by Glatthorn and performed by Mary Kate Wiles as lounge singer Vivian Nightingale (a name that had been mentioned in Poe Party), so I already knew that was a bop, but it didn’t prepare me for how hard the opening credits music would slap. The theme is so delightfully jazzy that even after nearly six years, I can’t sit still when I hear it. That music over the black and white shots of the Hollywoodland sign and palm trees was the perfect way to set the scene. And then the opening credits finished and the film itself began.
So here’s the thing about film noir. In general, I enjoy it: I think it’s a fascinating filmmaking style and a very effective technique to tell a certain type of story, and two of my other top 40 most frequently rewatched films – Notorious and Gaslight – are fairly noir-esque, but also, film noir can get very dark. Every November, along with many film lovers on the internet, I celebrate Noirvember, a time to watch and appreciate film noir. In 2015, I actually managed to watch 30 noirs in Noirvember, and by the end of the month I noticed that it was really getting to me. I was starting to feel a constant vague sense of unease, dread, and despair. So in every November since then I’ve forced myself to consume noirs somewhat more moderately. I must have known that Gilded Lily was going to be more of a parody and not like one of the darker noirs. The group was called Shipwrecked Comedy, after all. But even Poe Party had had some pretty dark moments. I’m sure I expected jokes in The Case of the Gilded Lily, but I was utterly floored by just how laugh-out-loud funny the whole darn film was. It wasn’t dark at all, at least compared to most noirs or even to Poe Party. There wasn’t even any murder! The first time I watched it, I must have missed at least half the jokes because I was still laughing at prior gags. The plot was just as complicated and twisty as most noirs, but that first time I was barely paying attention because, again, too much laughing. Therefore, once I finished it, I naturally had to immediately rewatch it several times to pick up on the jokes and plot points I’d missed, and I was delighted but not at all surprised to find that it held up very well. I don’t recall exactly how many times I’d seen it before the link was made public on December 11, but by the end of 2017 I’d watched it nine times. I then watched it four times in 2018, six times in 2019, five times in 2020, three times in 2021, and four times in 2022. And I still think the jokes are funny. So if you haven’t watched it, you absolutely should, it’s still available for free on YouTube (link in the show notes) and it’s like the length of one episode of a TV show.
There are so many different types of humor in this film, and all of them are great. There’s the whole playing with and making fun of noir tropes aspect, including several instances of characters interrupting each other’s voiceovers, a camera rotation into a Dutch angle causing Ford to fall over, and Wilhelmina trying to smoke and drink to fit in but not quite understanding the concept. That last one serves the dual purpose of making fun of the excessive smoking and drinking common in noirs and further developing one of my favorite types of character: the confidently clueless. The Case of the Gilded Lily has two of these: Wilhelmina Vanderjetski, the starlet who’s being blackmailed, played by Sarah Grace Hart, and Dash Gunfire, Ford’s rival private eye, played by Joey Richter. Wilhelmina’s cluelessness mostly makes her happy and charming, whereas Dash’s makes him frustrated and annoying, and it’s very entertaining to see two such similar yet very different characters in the same project. Basically everything either of them says or does makes me laugh. There’s also some great physical comedy, mainly from Clayton Farris as the disgruntled Buster Keaton. Similarly, there’s humor with the set and props, like when Cliff Calloway (played by Tom DeTrinis) switches between smoking a cigar and a cigarette in the same scene depending on who he’s talking to, and when Officer Claudette Knickerbocker (played by Joanna Sotomura) is talking to Ford on the phone about how hot she finds Cliff, and it cuts away to Ford putting down the phone and pouring himself a drink and when we see Claudette again her office is in complete disarray. And then there are all the hilarious running gags. Like how whenever someone brings up that Wilhelmina’s real name is Lily THomas, Ford has to argue that it should be pronounced Thomas. And how every time the scene changes after Vivian sings “A Change of Scene” the first time, there’s a little reprise of her singing about how we’re changing the scene. And the way Fig is obsessed with cookies and keeps getting them – I am truly in awe of Sinéad Persaud’s brilliance in writing a character for herself that required her to eat lots of cookies. What an iconic move. And then there’s the running bit where Ford will pause and stare into the distance dramatically before mentioning The War, much to Fig’s confusion, until it’s finally revealed that The War was a movie he and Claudette acted in when they were children. Another running bit is the bartender Bixby Crane (played by Dante Swain) repeatedly saying his own name unnecessarily, and taking things very literally in unexpected ways. This bit was particularly funny to me because my high school band director’s name was Parker Bixby, and when we marched in the Tournament of Roses parade, one of the announcers commented, “I want to change my name to Parker Bixby.” Later somebody put that on t-shirts and Mr. Bixby ended up with one. So seeing a character named Bixby who was obsessed with his own name made me laugh even harder than it would have if they’d picked any other name for that character.
Like in Poe Party, the actors in The Case of the Gilded Lily were encouraged to play around, at least as much as their limited production time would allow, which once again resulted in an excellent blooper reel, and also some great moments in the film. One of the best is when Wilhelmina’s husband, producer Roger Haircremé, played by Gabe Greenspan, comes into the lobby from the Sufferin’ Safari premiere and says, “Sweetheart, it’s nearly giraffe time!” which was improvised. Also, major shout out to the Persauds for their incredible character names, and also to Gabe Greenspan, who filled in last minute when the original Roger had to drop out of the project. It’s kind of mind boggling that this was the first time Gabe worked with Shipwrecked and that he almost wasn’t even in this, since it’s hard to imagine their more recent projects without him. Another unscripted moment that I love is when Vivian is telling Fig about an underground gambling ring and says that they meet on Wednesday nights, adding, “Tonight. And next Wednesday. And the Wednesday after that…” That last part wasn’t in the script, but they brought it back again when Fig passes this information on to Claudette, saying, “Vivian only knew they meet tonight. And then next week. And the week after that. Basically, it’s a weekly thing.” And Joanna, not really knowing how to respond to that, just had Claudette go, “Oh, okay” and move on with her lines, and for some reason that just really tickles me.
I think the thing I appreciated the most about The Case of the Gilded Lily, once I stopped laughing long enough to analyze it, was that it felt like a typical Shipwrecked project while also feeling completely different from what they’d done before. The sense of humor felt the same as Poe Party, even though the Gilded Lily gags tended to be on the sillier side. The story was just as well thought out as Poe Party’s, but while Poe Party was being released I was constantly trying to figure out who the murderer was, whereas with Gilded Lily I didn’t even attempt to guess who the blackmailer was, I was too busy laughing. Also, being a short film rather than a series released over 11 weeks, there was much less time for speculation. Of course, the overlapping cast made the projects feel similar, and I particularly enjoyed seeing Ryan W. Garcia, who had played Eddie in Poe Party, show up as an extra in about half the Gilded Lily scenes. This ultimately inspired me to write a rather long and intense fan fiction tying a bunch of Shipwrecked projects together with the time traveling ghost of Eddie. Tom DeTrinis’s Cliff Calloway seemed about what you’d expect if Oscar Wilde was trying to pretend to be a straight film star. Joey Richter’s Dash Gunfire was similar to his Ernest Hemingway in that both were rivals with Sean’s character, although Dash is way sillier.
And then there’s the Core Four. Sean and Sinéad’s characters and dynamic were very similar in A Tell-Tale Vlog, Poe Party, and Gilded Lily: both Poe and Ford are loners who secretly desire friends, and both Lenore and Fig are outgoing and talkative and enjoy winding up Sean’s character, who begrudgingly appreciates them despite his best efforts to abhor them. But of course, they are unquestionably different characters, and I think they both did an excellent job of adjusting their mannerisms to make them feel distinct. Mary Kate and Sarah’s characters, on the other hand, are essentially the complete opposite of what they played in Poe Party. Annabel was sweet and naïve and wanted everyone to be happy, whereas Vivian is bitter and jaded and having affairs with four different men in five different states (another great line) and doesn’t seem to care about anyone besides herself. Going straight from an ingenue to a femme fatale and absolutely nailing both was an excellent way for Mary Kate Wiles to demonstrate her incredible acting range. I’d already been a huge fan of her work for over five years at that point, and I was still blown away. Vivian doesn’t even get that much screentime, but gah, what MK does with her voice, like, just, close your eyes and listen to Annabel and then listen to Vivian, you can’t even tell they’re the same person. I feel like this also helps distinguish Edgar and Ford from each other. It’s a running theme in most Shipwrecked projects that Sean’s character is super into Mary Kate’s character, although they rarely end up together, and I can’t really explain why, but I don’t feel like Poe would be particularly into Vivian, nor would Ford be interested in Annabel. But I could be wrong about that, I don’t really understand how sexual or romantic attraction works. Anyway, all that being said, if I had to pick one single favorite aspect of The Case of the Gilded Lily, it would have to be Sarah Grace Hart as Wilhelmina Vanderjetski, mostly because she is absolutely hilarious, but also because she is so different from Emily Dickinson in Poe Party. Emily is forgotten by everyone the second after she introduces herself, whereas Wilhelmina is one of the most famous stars in Hollywood. Emily seems to know what’s going on, and I have a theory that she could have figured out the whole thing if people would have just listened to her, whereas Wilhelmina, bless her, is paying blackmail while also telling everyone what she’s being blackmailed for. Also it’s literally just… having a stage name. Not really something worth paying $20,000 per week to keep secret, especially if you’re just going to tell everyone anyway. But Sarah commits to this character so hard that you never once doubt that Willie would absolutely fall prey to this ridiculous scheme. She’s so earnestly oblivious in the most endearing and hilarious way that she’s probably my favorite Shipwrecked character, and possibly my favorite character in anything ever.
What I didn’t know at the time was that originally, Shipwrecked had planned to follow Poe Party with a whole series featuring these characters, but when they got invited to Buffer they knew they wouldn’t have time for all that, so they made The Case of the Gilded Lily as kind of a pilot for the Fig and Ford series. They did make it clear that they had at least some intentions of continuing the story, with a question mark appearing after “The End” and a quick post-credits scene with Vivian bursting into Fig and Ford’s office and saying, “Mr. Phillips, something terrible has happened!” After years with no word of what this could be leading to, I had almost given up hope of more from this world, and then, in 2022, Shipwrecked launched a Kickstarter for an audio narrative called The Case of the Greater Gatsby, currently coming out weekly on all major podcast platforms, and we’re finally getting more, and it is so delightful. Once again, I don’t feel like I’m doing a very good job of trying to figure out what’s going on, but I am living for the jokes.
Classic film noir tended to be relatively sexually explicit for its time – at least, as much as it was allowed to be under production codes. In particular, the male protagonist was often led astray by his attraction to the sexy but dangerous femme fatale. The Persauds had said that they were inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit, another noir parody, which turns these sexy expectations around with a femme fatale type character who is, if not overtly asexual, certainly ace-coded – she’s married to a rabbit, and when asked what the attraction is, she says, and I quote, “He makes me laugh.” The Case of the Gilded Lily finds a different way to put a twist on the femme fatale trope with Vivian Nightingale, who is certainly not ace-coded, but also doesn’t seem to be particularly dangerous – at least in the Gilded Lily plot, I don’t know where Greater Gatsby is going yet. Vivian is a possible suspect, and Ford is very attracted to her, but she’s innocent and nothing bad really comes of her involvement in this story. She has an attitude of, “I have no clue how I got mixed up with you clowns, but I’ll be fabulous while I’m here" that you have to admire. Really the only romance in The Case of the Gilded Lily is the one between Wilhelmina Vanderjetski and Roger Haircremé, and that one is… questionable, to put it mildly. For one thing, Willie lied to Roger about her background to get him to marry her. For another, Roger saw through her ridiculous story but pretended not to, instead blackmailing her to pay off his gambling debts. When Fig and Ford uncover this, instead of being furious with her husband, Wilhelmina is delighted that the blackmailer was just her kind, loving husband who’d never do anything to hurt her. Typically I’m very much in favor of forgiveness, but in this case I really don’t think Roger deserves it. In a way, this could be seen as illustrating the harms of amatonormativity, showing that Wilhelmina thinks staying with a blackmailer is preferable to having no husband, but it definitely comes across as her genuinely believing that Roger has done nothing wrong. It’s weird, but I love the way this shifts the noir trope of sexy-romance-gone-wrong to be about a couple who was married at the start and has no intention of getting divorced at the end, and involves a woman who bears zero resemblance to a typical femme fatale.
Like pretty much every other Shipwrecked project (besides Kissing in the Rain), The Case of the Gilded Lily is way more focused on platonic relationships than romantic or sexual ones. Even though the crime is related to Roger and Wilhelmina’s relationship, it’s solved mainly because of Fig’s friendship with Wilhelmina, Fig’s attempts to befriend Ford, and Ford’s friendship with Claudette. I didn’t know I was aroace when this came out, but I certainly appreciated all the non-romantic storylines. And I would argue that Gilded Lily does have at least one ace-coded character, although it’s not the one who reminds us of Jessica Rabbit: it’s Fig Wineshine. She wants to be friends with everyone but doesn’t show any signs of attraction to any of them. And she has this great line in Greater Gatsby when she’s describing how Cliff Calloway is a Hollywood heartthrob: “He didn't really do it for me. But then again he wasn't circular with crispy edges and a gooey middle.” She’s saying that her type is a literal cookie. There’s no allosexual explanation for that.
My main takeaway from The Case of the Gilded Lily back in 2017 was that Poe Party was not a fluke. I had truly stumbled upon an underappreciated group of talented, hardworking geniuses when I found Shipwrecked Comedy, and I was going to keep following and supporting their work from then on no matter what. And I have never regretted doing that for a second. Most of the projects they’ve made in the years since The Case of the Gilded Lily have been too short to count as movies, but they have all been incredibly delightful. I would highly recommend everything on their YouTube channel, in addition to the Greater Gatsby podcast they’re currently releasing, especially if you enjoy Old Hollywood; I am thoroughly enjoying all the references to actual movies and actors that I love by the fictional characters from the world of Fig and Ford that I also love. Shipwrecked keeps telling the exact stories I want to see and hear, and I cannot even begin to adequately express how much joy they have brought to my life. I truly hope everyone out there has found or will find a group of artists whose work means as much to them as Shipwrecked’s does to me.
Thank you for listening to me discuss another of my most frequently rewatched movies. Next week I will enter my top 5 with the oldest movie on this list, which I also watched 31 times. As always, I will leave you with a quote from that next movie: “Always remember that the truth has never hurt any man! …And anyway, if it does, I’ll go to the hospital with you.”

Clients understand that their professional drivers are always on time, each and every time. “Early this year, I booked a bus to take me to the airport for a 6 AM flight,” recalled Sandra M, a frequent traveler, “I was worried that I would miss my flight because the bus arrived -quarter to 6 instead of 6 AM.” When time is of the essence, timeliness is a must – and this service guarantees that its clients will never be left hanging.

There are many commendations made by various reviewers regarding the clean interior of the car, the seats which are very comfortable, and little heartening extras such as water in a bottle and Wi-Fi. Our reviewer James T. actually used the service recently for a corporate event: “The car was new, clean, and as soon as I entered…
Professionalism and customer service

Another is about the customer service which is also mentioned to be excellent in these reviews. Passengers are always showered with compliments ending in the order of the day as courteous, knowledgeable, and very keen on the customers. The team answers any questions the guest might have or might require help with; be it with luggage, local places, or the temperature of the car. “Friendly and professional driver—this man added to our pleasure of the night out at Dallas,”…Emma L, a customer using the service for group events.
Safety and Comfort
Security is a significant concern in Black Car Service Dallas and people are calm with their security concerns in this service. Drivers embraced the challenges of driving in the traffic-stricken city of Dallas and are well-trained. The cars are checked in accordance with the highest standards of safety, which means that every car is safe and comfortable to drive. Black Car Service Dallas impressed me so much the last time, and I always recommend it to my friends and relatives,” confessed David R.
