Very typical hetero-love-interest introduction, rival vibes, aloof rich boy & headstrong "commoner" girl, learning to see each other's point of view, she dresses up for the first time in the series to sneak into his party to try to talk to him. Just classic 'ugh they're clearly gonna get together' but... they don't. Nothing romantic is ever explicit, and by s2 they're friends and that's it. there's no discussion or drama. they're good friends. literally shocked me. apparently a guy and girl who fit a bunch of romantic tropes... can just be friends

Moonshine is a high level elf druid which means she’ll basically live forever and literally the most emotional scene where she asks her mom “How long do half-elves live?”. Hardwon was always a fish out of water who never really fit in until he found Moonshine and the Crick. Are they dating? Queerplatonic partners? Siblings? The bee episode is so interesting to me, because it shows Akko responding in the same way to both Andrew and Diana's declarations of love

The episode for sure ends on a very strange vibe with their friends insisting on a possible romance between the two, and it does feel up to interpretation whether their responses are like, denial or genuine lack of interest but. It's a very clear lean in the Ankko direction rather than the Diakko one, which is strange because Andrew doesn't show up too much after this while Diana and Akko do grow undeniably closer

I've read somewhere that initally they were going to do an Ankko romance subplot but cut it for time, which does seem to align with the vibes here. At the same time I've also seen people say that there were people on staff that like Diakko and while I've never seen evidence, the way this episode treats the vaguest idea of it before they even become friends does make me feel like it could be true as well!

Anyway personally I don't know that I even have a preference? I feel like either one would be really fun and cute to see, but I'm also super chill with the show ending on an open ended note in terms of Akko's dating life- it wasn't like, never talked about, she has an interest in dating, and two possible LIs that would be a good match for her... And I'm perfectly fine with if that's all we ever get, even as fun as it would have been to see a romance subplot

Okay as much as I personally think that LWA did have a satisfying ending (saving the world, restoring magic, akko floating), I won't mind a season 2.

Maybe in S2 there will be more shenanigans with the gang being older. Or maybe an old and actually evil witch is gonna do something. Or, like in one of the lwa manga, there is another school (but not woodward fake). Whether it's evil or not, I don't mind either.

And I know that LWA is not romance focused but if they make Andrew and Akko together in S2 then I'd rather not have the season LOL. Maybe it sounds bitter from a Diakko shipper but I'd rather have besties4life than seeing Ankko canon.

About the charoix spinoff: I WANT THAT TOO. i want to see how Croix would research about Wagandea to help Chariot. And them just bonding in general. And maybe Croix genuinely warming up to the kids. It'll be cute methinks.

It starts off as a one-sided crush on Flynn’s side, and later becomes mutual when Cali develops feelings for him in the Skylanders IDW spin-off comics, their romantic tension lasts for most of the franchise (five games, a chapter of a spin-off comic, and a few bits and pieces in the spin-off books and mobile games), so far they’ve never gotten together as the franchise is currently still in hiatus mode (says this while on extreme copium) I think we need to appreciate the tropes in Calynn: Opposites Attract, Tough Girl x Himbo, Smart x Dumb, “You’re stupid, I like that in a man” vibes all over this ship! Seven year old me didn’t see Cali calling Flynn her guy in the sky whilst Flynn looked at her with heart eyes to lose to some other pairing!
