the dark reality behind dairy
By World of Vegan.
Within the dairy realm, two narratives intertwine: the plight of the mothers and that of their offspring.
Artificial insemination serves as a harsh introduction to the dairy industry’s cycle of exploitation. Unlike the natural way to get pregnant, female cows within commercial dairy farms are subjected to an intrusive process that blatantly violates their reproductive system.
This invasive procedure forces cows into a perpetual cycle of pregnancies, denying them the right to choose their mates or control their reproductive destinies.
Just like human mothers, a female cow has a nine-month gestation period. And after giving birth, calves typically nurse from their mothers for 6 months or longer.
But in the dairy industry, once her calf is born, she’ll experience a mere day or two of companionship—sometime less—before her calf is forcefully separated from her to prevent the loss of even a drop of valuable milk, which would cut into the profits of the dairy industry. This is the last time the mother will see her baby.
Like most moms, cows have powerful maternal instincts and are extremely distressed when their babies are taken away from them. Their anguished bellows can be heard for up to a mile away. Some cows are so distraught that they will even stop eating.
Post-separation, the mother cows are subjected to mechanical milking—a stark contrast to the nostalgic image of a farmer hand-milking a cow.
As soon as her baby is taken away, the mother will be hooked up to a milking machine to take the milk that her body made for her calf. In natural circumstances, nursing cows produce just 12 to 15 pounds of milk each day and calves nurse all day long.
But in the majority of today’s dairy operations, a mother cow will produce a staggering 50 pounds of milk daily. The pressure of her painfully loaded udder will only be relieved by mechanical milking twice a day, which often leads to mastitis and other excruciatingly painful conditions.
As time progresses, milk production wanes, initiating a vicious cycle of repeated artificial impregnation, bereavement, and mechanical milking.
This cycle persists yearly until these cows meet a grim fate—slaughtered as adolescents, their natural lifespan of 25 to 30 years cut short. Their bodies, devoid of milk-production utility, are often processed into meat products, most often burgers.
Shifting focus to their offspring, USDA statistics reveal that 97 percent of calves are separated from their mothers within the first 12 hours of birth.
Female calves, like their mothers, confront a bleak fate. Denied maternal nourishment, they are confined in solitary and often cramped pens, where they have no way to find comfort or nurse from their mother.
Replacing mother’s milk with a formula, they endure this existence for 6-8 months, foregoing a natural upbringing characterized by play, bonding, and freedom.
Once fertile, the cycle of forced impregnation, grief, mechanical milking, and eventual slaughter begins anew.
50 percent of the babies born will be male, and a male calf has little financial value to the dairy industry because he’ll never produce milk.
In most situations he’ll either be kept and raised for beef, slaughtered immediately for cheap veal, or sent to a torturous facility to become higher priced veal.
On a veal farm the baby calf will be confined in a small space in which he can barely move and fed an iron-poor diet until he becomes severely anemic. His muscles will atrophy, and at just a few months of age, he’ll be slaughtered. His tender, pale flesh will be sold as veal.
You may be surprised to learn that marketing buzzwords like “Organic, Grass-Fed and Free-range” you might see on meat, dairy, and egg labels don’t guarantee better lives for the animals.
The mechanics remain the same, including the unavoidable separation of baby from mother, painful surgical mutilations without anesthetic, factory-style milking, and premature slaughter.
These terms, designed to attract compassionate consumers, fail to dismantle the core mechanisms of exploitation.
Considering the immense suffering, is the fleeting gustatory pleasure of cow’s milk truly worth it? The array of delicious, plant-based alternatives renders this question obsolete. Opting for both taste and compassion aligns with our evolving food landscape.
Our grocery choices equate to votes for the world we desire. While personal, these choices transcend the individual, impacting the lives of others.
Opting for animal-based dairy entails contributing to a continuum of suffering. Awareness fuels change. Acknowledging one’s past contributions to cruelty ignites a journey toward more humane choices. Armed with knowledge, we navigate a path of greater compassion, for when we know better, we can genuinely do better.

Sims 4 World Loredump
Android Lore
Androids are species classification encompassing all sapient robotic lifeforms. More precise categorizations include the following:
-Mimics-
These androids were designed with likeness to biological species in mind, and were created for a variety of purposes. Some of them even contained real preserved tissues from biological donors, usually skin and eyes. One of the most prominent types, their creation was perpetuated by only a few large and successful companies, and derived from the same AI technology.
This leaves them the most well-protected by law, after the legal case about Android Sentience was decided and androids were given citizenship and accompanying protections.
-Incarnates-
Incarnates were special and highly personalized androids commissioned by specialists, and typically modeled after fictional characters or original characters of the buyer. The business model was centered around the idea of create a ‘Physical Incarnation’ of characters. Though it began as an independent trade, small specialized companies cropped up in the market. Incarnates were not only modeled after a desired character, but they were programmed with the desired personality and memories. (Memories were created via an intricate digital 3D modeling of important events, which were then filtered through a system that would sufficiently distort the scene into a memory that matched the dissonance from exact events seen in biological memories.)
Since their AI model was entirely derived from the Mimic Model (a model created by replicating a sapient brain in a digital space by tracking would-be neurons and would-be hormones, rather than simply training a computer to act like a person) the same rights and protections from the Android Sapience Act apply to them.
Notable character from this variety of android is Steelie Buzzkil.
-Animatronics/Mascots-
This section is exclusive to those such as Cade E Cherrypop and Fizzy Limeade, mascot androids created by their own establishment’s company. Unfortunately, due to using their own exclusive AI model developed by their company, their sapience has not been legally proven, which sees them remain under company ownership for the time being. Such loopholes would become a tactic for companies to create androids they could once more own and use however they wished. But success is pretty scarce, since creating a new AI model that is comparable to the Mimic Model without using it directly is a rare feat.
-Bio-Hybrids-
Due to heavy restrictions on artificially producing biological creatures (this does not include artificial insemination or selectively breeding animals,) true Android-Biological hybrids are only found in regulated experimental facilities. But I’ll have you know that a certain cardigan-hoarding spider creature happens to fit this category.

Greetings to all my friends and foes and froes!
Huh, done with serious part, lets get some fun! First I have to confess that my greeting isn't mine( Its free translation of my forever favourite greeting of one of Ukrainian YouTube creators I follow. He is super iconic when destroying this ussr culture heritage and confronting pro-ruzzian media persons. Also his community (me included) are fighting one old crazy lady who instead of some peaseful knitting decided to share her anti-lgbtq pro-religeous views. So we established Homodox Church of Ukraine (instead of Orthodox Church) and that is the only religion I am ready to profess. So if you are with us say "Glory to LGBT! Death to family values!"
Stand up. I can't say much about it except that this is what keeps me sane this days and that Ukrainian stand up comedians I watch are the best people in the world with the most active civil position and the most humanitarian views. I brought you one of my favourite jokes by Anna Kochegura in my non-professional translation: "Nietzsche once said that the woman was the second God's mistake... The fisrt must've been the Nietzsche"
Media. The only tv I enjoy is Toronto TV) That`s youtube news channel with just coolest team in the world. This guys are new style Ukrainian journalists who were fighting ruzzian propaganda and inhumane ideologies for literally all their careers. They post about news, culture and many more. They have second channel in English so you are weclome to enjoy) Ukrainian Toronto Television - YouTube
P. S. Just to make it clear - they are not the only sourse of news I follow cause I am not a ruzzian to blindly believe everything you are told without fact-checking)
Books. Finally, my favourite part) I am absolutely stunned with talent of Ukrainian authors and how easy they are about it. I mean this people write like the coolest stories in the world and take it like no big deal. I will never get used to how easily I can communicate with my favourite authors. I basically can write them on Instagram - and they will read, answer and thank me for reading them. I understand why this happens - because Ukrainian book market is pretty small and private - but considering the level of excellence of this works I just can't believe this people walk the same ground with me and I can meet them somewhere at the market. I found every book I ever wanted on Ukrainian book market and at some point got a little bit carried away to find myself out with 0 UAH on the card and about 250 books to read)
We have like supercool non-fiction publisher Vikhola. I bought almost all of their books) Now I know about paleontology, botanics, psychology, animal psychology, artificial insemination and many many more. Also in my library there are books about spies, space exploring, life of doctors, exploring Antarctica, escape from North Korea, some books about everyday life, other cultures, fantasy, love stories, biographies, thrillers, manchva and something else I can't even remember) Some books are brilliant translations but I believe more than half of my collection to be written by Ukrainians.
I read several books at the time. First is absolutely stunning fantasy about the shadow side of our sities where is magic and forever lasting confrontation of dark and light mages. Sounds pretty basic but lore of this world is hella interesting and complicated with detailed magic system (there are mages, witches and alchemists - each group has its unique way to access Power), political system of different countries and supercharismatic characters. I can distinguish every character just by the manner of speaking and am absolutely in love with every one of them. They are more alive than some real humans and I am 100% involved in their lives. Author of this fascinating trilogy is Natalia Matolinets. She is soon publishing in English for the first time. Her short story will appear in Tales&Feathers Magazines. I am thrilled for her and wish all the luck with publishing her books for the English readers one day)
Second book I am reading now is very big. It's like HUGE. That is the first book of The New Dark Ages tetralogy by Ukrainian author Max Kidruk. The book is 904 pages and the rest of the series are planned to be as big) It weights 1,5 kg! Yeah, I bought this one in paper because ebook will come later and I am eager to read this precious. It tells us about humankind in 22nd century with global climat change on Earth and rebellions at the colonies on Mars. It is basically GoT in space. And all of its aspects are super science accurate. Also Max fills his books with additions such as detailed maps, lists of charachters, schemes and even little apps. This is just exceptional sci-fi book!
And the third one I am reading is pretty basic nonfic for book lovers - How To Read Literature Like A Professor. It is nothing but great and definitely enriches my reading experiences.
Movies. I am not a film fan but moden Ukrainian films are just pure art. I encourage you to watch Pamfir and other Ukrainian films if possible. It will sure be interesting and impressive experience.

The market was notably impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, outbreaks of African Swine Fever, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and macroeconomic hurdles from 2018 to 2022. However, the increasing demand for pork worldwide has helped the market recover and grow steadily. With the growing population, the demand for pork is expected to increase, and artificial insemination is expected to play a critical role in meeting this demand. As per estimates by OECD, pork meat consumption in BRICS countries is expected to grow from 55.26 mega tones in 2022 to 64.45 mega tones in 2025. The demand and uptake of artificial insemination solutions in pigs are thus estimated to increase over time.
The increasing focus on sustainable food production, animal genetics, and concerns over zoonoses are other factors driving the market growth. Swine producers exhibit increasing awareness of the benefits of artificial insemination, which often translates to increased productivity and better herd health. Swine producers are hence increasingly adopting artificial insemination products and services to breed swine that are more disease-resistant, have better meat quality, and are more efficient at converting feed into meat. Overall, the swine artificial insemination industry is expected to continue its growth in the coming years, driven by rising awareness about the benefits of artificial insemination in pigs and ongoing technological advancements in the field.

Future of Veterinary Artificial Insemination: Market Forecast and Growth Opportunities
Veterinary Artificial Insemination (AI) is a reproductive technique that involves the insertion of semen into the reproductive tract of female animals to achieve fertilization. AI is commonly used in the livestock industry, where it enables breeders to improve the genetics of their herds by using semen from superior sires. The process involves collecting semen from a male animal and depositing it into the female's reproductive tract using a specialized device. AI is a safe and effective way of improving breeding outcomes and can be used to overcome infertility or breeding issues. It also helps to prevent the spread of diseases that can be transmitted through natural breeding. Veterinary AI is an important tool for animal breeders and is widely used in many parts of the world.

So, here we go,
If you live in Colorado and care about animals you need to be aware of Proposition 16, which is being misnamed the Protect Animals from Unnecessary Suffering and Exploitation act. It's not an act, and it...well, let's take a look at it.
First of all, it would remove the "typical animal husbandry" exception from "sexual acts with an animal" and replace it with "For the welfare of the animal." The definition is any penetration of the vagina or anus with a body part or object.
This outlaws:
1. Artificial insemination. This would make it nearly impossible for small ranchers to breed, as many can't afford what it takes to keep a bull or boar. Rams and billies are a BIT easier.
2. Pregnancy tests on livestock. Large animals have to be pregnancy tested by using a transrectal ultrasound. You can't just put one on the belly because they're too big. This would make it impossible to give pregnant animals the care they need and impossible to detect twins in horses (of which the best outcome is at least one very stunted foal). The "welfare of the animal" exemption COULD keep you safe. Or it could not.
3. Taking an animal's temperature. No kidding. This would classify the use of a rectal thermometer as bestiality. Because whoever put this together doesn't have a clue about animals. Even by animal rights activist levels, this is ridiculous. You could get away with it if the animal was sick. But there would go the safest way to determine of a mare or cow was ovulating before you introduce them to the male. Btw, a non-receptive mare will do her best to kill a stallion and with hand or corral breeding, it's common for stallions to get hurt. We used to use cheap disposable stallions for this. We don't want to go back to that process.
4. Surgical castration. Yes, this animal rights sponsored initiative would ban the most humane form of castration of large animals. Do you want your next gelding to have been castrated using the much more traumatic banding method? That's the one where they tie a band around the testicles and wait for them to drop off. Smaller animals are castrated using a different method, but the method for surgical castration in livestock, because of their size, involves a small amount of penetration of the anus.
5. One method of spaying mares. When a mare is spayed, which is not a routine operation and is generally done either for medical or behavioral reason, an ovariectomy is done through either an incision or through the vagina. The last is the most common and safest way. It would be legal to spay a mare if she had a tumor or the like. It would not be legal to spay her if she was unridable when in heat.
So, that's all pretty...bad. And given a vet could be convicted of a sex offense, many vets will leave Colorado. Large animal vets would become almost impossible to find and small animal vets might also flee the state. There's also no exemption to any of these for teaching people how to do the procedure. Under this, I'd be some kind of horrible sex offender for having taught a prepubescent child how to take a horse's temperature. (The look on their faces when they find out where it goes...)
Then there's the second part. Clearly, what they intended to do with this was outlaw veal. Which I have mixed feelings about.
But what they actually have in there is a definition of the "natural lifespan" of livestock and a rule that they have to reach a quarter of that.
For cows, they have the natural lifespan defined at 20 years. I'm not a stockman, so I don't know if that's accurate, but it feels right.
Which means that ranchers in Colorado would have to raise cows until 5 years old.
The typical market age of a steer is 24 months.
Economically, unless they can drive cattle out of the state to be slaughtered (and btw, I am opposed to transporting live animals for slaughter any further than necessary), that puts ranchers out of business. They would no longer be able to export to Japan, which is a big market, because the Japanese won't take meat from cattle older than 30 months.
And believe me? You don't want a steak from a 5 year old cow. You even more don't want to pay more for a steak from a 5 year old cow. So, this thing is this entire mess of even more clueless than animal rights fanatics already are.
If you live in Colorado and somebody asks you to sign this thing, don't. If it ends up on the ballot next year, don't vote yes on it.
It would not protect animals.
It would destroy livelihoods and result in more cruelty. It would destroy not just the ranching industry in Colorado but the horse breeding industry as well. Even if you're a vegetarian, supporting something which would actually increase animal cruelty...
And people are dumb. They may fall for it.
But most people aren't as dumb as the animal rights activists who don't know where the thermometer goes.
